As the bell rung to signal the end of classes for the day, Eiko stretched himself out from his seat. Somehow sitting in chair all day was more exhausting than the practical training courses where just got his ass handed to him by his peers. Finally, a chance to eat those onigiri I made earlier. I even went all out in the school kitchen and made them out of fried rice with extra soy sauce instead, stuffing them with egg and onion. Simple but delicious.
“Remember to study up for your next exam everyone! And enjoy your day! Yozora-san, don’t forget your remedial courses!” The instructor called out as Eiko scowled, the whole class snickering about it. Did he really have to announce it to everyone that he had to take remedial practical courses. Eiko knew he had extra courses and he didn’t need to be reminded about it, much less did he need his peers reminded about it. Eiko grabbed his food bag and stormed out without much a word, his instructor shouting in the background about ‘respect’ or something in that ballpark, Eiko wasn’t even paying attention at this point as he stormed off. He had plenty of time between his courses and now to eat something and it’s all he wanted to do at this point.
Eiko may have taken all of 5 steps out the door before he was bumped into by one of his more physically gifted classmates, knocking Eiko back though he stayed on his feet. “Lookie here it’s the 3rd year punching bag. Have fun at your remedial courses.”
“Well I mean its accurate,” the voice of his zanpaktou resonating in the back of Eiko’s head, causing Eiko to grit his teeth in frustration. “Piss the fuck off,” Eiko retorted out loud, though he was directing at his zanpaktou, it’s not like anyone else would figure that out as he was looked down upon meagerly before getting grabbed and shoved to the ground, Eiko falling on his rear. “Watch your tongue punching bag. Unless you want to end up in the infirmary the rest of the year,” Eiko’s bullish classmate retorted before spitting on the ground on Eiko and walking away, leaving Eiko to slowly pull himself back up, to immediately check his lunch box, to find his rice balls now a broken mess, his menacing demeanor turning dejected. It was still normal rice he could eat, but it wasn’t something he could just grab with his hands anymore. It’s never fun when hardwork get’s ruin. A chuckle in the back of his head echoed in his mind. “This is what happens to weaklings like you. You should get used to being bottom of the barrel, ‘punching bag’.” the voice echoed the insult again, only for Eiko to grit his teeth in frustration as his hands shook from the emotional build up, shaking the small bento he had built.
