In the depths of the Seireitei, there were quite the unique amount of the individuals. From general workers to the Gotei Thirteen, all kinds of noises could be heard within the Seireitei. The drowning sounds of chatter, the grunting of work and the calm sounds of the nature that surrounded everything within the Soul Society. Yet among all these sounds, there was also the sound of combat. The clashing of swords and metal, only to be replaced with the sounds of exertion. Among Squad 10, Celes could be seen training around the Barracks. It was a habit that she carried from Squad 11 and it typically served her well.
The spiritually reinforced dummies that she was sparing with as a mock opponent served as a decent substitute for a real sparring partner. The dummies moves were always rather predictable. Celes had made her own modifications to give it a minor ability to fight back. It was rather amateur work involving adding the capability of rotation to the dummy, but it did the job. Attaching sheets of metal to it gave it the illusion of carrying swords and Celes could test her strength and strategy against them, making sure not to swing too hard lest she broke her "sparring partner".
That was always the hardest part for Celes. Holding back. It was temperance and patience that truly marked a warrior and while Celes did her best to practice it, she had trouble with it. This break in her concentration as she thought about it seemed to be enough as a sheet of metal, thankfully with the broad side hit Celes straight across her forehead. The shock rang through her body as she fell back, gripping her Zanpakutou tightly as she sighed. She began berating herself for it. "Argh! Celes! You have to do your best to concentrate. Distractions are all in your head.."
The Shinigami, as she stood back up and returned to her stance, eased up a little after a few moments. Perhaps she was overtraining herself. Perhaps the strain was getting to her? She was not sure, but maybe some relaxation would do her some good. Or even a shift to other duties. She was a Vice Captain now and had more responsibilities than when she was a Third Seat for Squad 11. Sheathing both of her Zanpakutou, she made the decision to head inside to her office. As she arrived there and slide the door open, she noticed a stack of papers on her desk. This made her release a bit of a sigh as she stared at it without joy.
Moving around to the back of her desk and sitting down, she began tapping her fingers along the edge of the counter. She still owed the Soul Society a report about a missing Shinigami. The Soul Society had allegedly appointed her as a potential defector, but Celes was the last one to see Camila. There were many questions for her. Questions that she wasn't all too excited to answer. It was true that she let Camila go, but nobody had to know that. Nobody could know that. She was expected to have undying loyalty to the Gotei. They were her comrades, but Celes could never betray a friend like that.
Nonetheless, she knew that this was the minimum that she had to do. Collecting a fresh sheet of paper, she was about to write on it until she noticed a familiar black figure in the corner of her eye. Flying onto the desk, Celes recognized it as a Hell Butterfly. She chuckled and sighed. "No rest for the wicked it seems. I wonder what they have for me now." Celes pushed her finger towards the Hell Butterfly. She always admired these little critters. They were messengers, but rather beautiful and graceful messengers. As the Butterfly proceeded to land on her finger, she was imparted the information that she needed to know.
Her eyes widened a little as she became intrigued. There seemed to be strange sightings of what were described as little black masses. They were seemingly going around and wreaking havoc. Celes was equally intrigued yet also worried as the message that the Hell Butterfly imparted included another order. Celes was to choose someone to accompany her. Did they underestimate her capabilities? Surely not? The Shinigami would try not to take it personal. Perhaps it was just a precaution that they were taking. This was odd, however. Typically missions to the Human World were not given to Squad 10 first and foremost. Then again, she was making alot of assumptions.
The Vice Captain pondered for a moment. There was really nobody in Squad 10 who could have helped in this situation. She may need to turn to another Squad. As she continued to reflect, she snapped her fingers, finally getting an idea. She could turn to her old Squad. Squad 11. After all they were the primary reinforcements. In truth, Celes had only met one member in the past. That was the Vice Captain, Tsukuyomi. If only he could see where she was now. That was neither here nor there as he was very difficult to track down. Regardless, Celes though that she could at least make the attempt and see if anyone was available. Some new faces could have popped up ever since her transferal or whole new Squadmates she never knew about.
She admittedly got a little stoked as she smiled. Unfortunately, it meant that she may never get to this paperwork, but priorities were something that they were taught at the Academy. With that, Celes eagerly ran out of her office and towards the training grounds. She would need to make her way to the Squad 11 Barracks quickly just in case anyone happened to be there. As the Primary Attack Squad, Celes had just assumed that they along with herself were always out to reinforce other missions in the Human World and beyond. Then again, she could have been mistaken in this as well.
After a few minutes of rather quick travel, Celes arrived at the Squad 11 Barracks. The training grounds seemed to be scarred with battle markings and overall area seemed a little rugged. She was glad to see that it certainly wasn't being put to waste. Celes remembered fondly when she used to train here. Then again, that was the past and she had to look towards the future. As she slid open the door to take note of anyone, she would speak with a certain degree of authority if she did see anyone outside of Tsukuyomi or hell, even the Captain of Squad 11. "I am the Vice Captain of Squad 10. I have arrived to take on a comrade to complete a mission in the Human World. Does that arouse the curiosity of anyone here?"
