So Raphael was good at manipulating larger scale objects like the ground and had some grasp of finer control such as that over water and toaster waffles. That was a start. Kazura could work with that. "While I have been trying swordsmanship, I am not anywhere proficient with them. I'm much better with my fists as well, so I understand that. You seem to have a good grasp of Soul Manipulation basics if you can launch things with the ground as well as move smaller things around, so the real training will be in improving size, control, and grip." Kazura Willed the ground to grow soft underneath his feet, bounced on his toes a little bit, then pushed off the ground with both Spirit and Body to leap up and touch the ceiling by pushing himself up with the ground.
When he landed, he dusted off his suit and continued. "As you work on improving those qualities of your soul manipulation, you'll find that if you give it more of your reiatsu, you can control up to your body size in raw material. It just takes a bit more practice to give it enough energy with stability. This discipline, called Soul Dominance, can be used in more complex manners as well. Activating Soul Dominance, Kazura Willed a training sword close by to fly into his hand, then bend into a corkscrew before retaining its original shape and flying back to the rack it had been on. "Tell me more about the practice you've done in manipulating water. If something like a tennis ball were to come close to you, would you be able to move it closer and catch it or stop it entirely with Soul Manipulation?"

Raph sighed in relief, when Kyo mentioned that he wasn’t exactly that great with swords; it made him happy that at least he wasn’t the only one. Raphael nodded while Kyo talked a bit about what could be done, and what Raph had already mastered. Size control and grip. Three things that Raphael needed to work on… Unfortunately, he didn’t really know quite what that meant. He was hoping that he would get a demonstration off some kind, and boy did he. He watched, transfixed, as Kazura used soul command to jump from the floor to the ceiling, brushing it with a hand and then coming back down perfectly.
Even the way that he simply landed and brushed himself off was pulled off with both poise and aplomb. He listened intently as Kazura explained the level of power that was a bit out of his reach, for now, that by pouring more of his own energy into the elements that he manipulated that he could control as much raw material as he himself was. It was difficult for Raphael to conceive of such a thing, a power that even he could reach, but he’d been doing things that he would’ve balked at before. Practice made perfect, and that’s what he would have to do. There might’ve been many defenders of their world, but he’d have to reach higher than the others. As high as he could.
When he asked about the water manipulation that he’d done, though… “Ehehe… Uh… I tried to get it to flow into my mouth. I got half of my living room soaked before I managed to start getting it right. But, as far as something like a tennis ball? I’d say… That I could fairly easily bring it to a stop or move it closer to myself, though the odds of it hitting me in the face are…not terrible, but they’re not great either. If I were to try to pull one of the swords over there to me, like you did, it would probably just keep flying right at me and I’d get hit. But making it just fly towards me and stop before it reached me? That I can do. I find that, for some reason, liquids don’t respond as nicely to my call as solids do. I can’t move things like water or soup easily, most likely due to their more fluid nature.”

Kazura suddenly had a bright idea. It was clever, he thought. A way to train both Raph's Control over the elements and the strength of his Grip. He could work on the Size of what he manipulated later, at home, easily by just trying to lift and manipulate bigger items around the house. But to practice two components at once would be good, Kazura thought. He went to a closet and pulled out a contraption that he had used to train Ruhe and Irina a long time ago. A tennis ball launcher that had been connected to twelve tubes that fired the projectiles in different arcs, all randomly generated for the surprise factor. "Here's what we're going to do for today's training, if that's alright. Tennis balls fired at various directions for you to catch with Soul Command and bring into your hands. Here's the catch though. Halfway through, I'll swap out the regular tennis balls for ones three-quarters filled with water. I want you to then drag them to you by pulling on the water rather than on the shell."
If Raph agreed, then Kazura would begin loading the machine one tennis ball at a time, giving Raph enough time to watch, react to, catch (or fail to catch), and then reset before loading the next ball into the machine. If Raph demonstrated decent speed, Kazura would increase the rate of tennis ball fire for a while before switching to the water filled balls. He'd go back to a slow rate of fire for Raph to adjust to grabbing the liquid instead of the solid and would ramp up the speed only slightly until Raph looked like he was tired or asked to stop. Soul Command repeatedly could get very tiring very quickly, so Kazura didn't expect this training to last for more than a half hour or so.
If Raph didn't want to train using the launcher, Kazura would listen to what he wanted to do instead and would adjust accordingly.

Raphael watched as Kazura pulled an odd machine out of a nearby closet. It looked like a tennis ball launcher, if severely modified. And he began to explain what was going to happen, how it was going to work with the kind of training that Kazura had in mind. Tennis balls and then water balloons? So…first a harder membrane with a hollow shell and then a softer outer membrane filled with a liquid that I haven’t been able to manipulate well… Great. Raphael simply watched him for a few seconds as Kazura prepared the machine.
“S-Sure. I’ve never tried anything like this...but I’m more than willing to give it a try.” Raphael got himself ready, legs spreading out a bit so that they were shoulder length apart. Kazura began to load the balls into the launcher, though Raphael hadn’t exactly realized until the first one nearly whizzed past him. He managed to stop it in the nick of time and pull it to him before lettingit drop to the ground, bouncing a few times. Then went another, and another. He’d miss a tennis ball or two, especially when it went flying much farther than he’d anticipated. Managing, just barely, to keep up with the tennis balls, he watched as water balloons suddenly went flying towards him. This concerned him…
He tried reaching out, tried to grab the liquid of the first but it sailed right at him, hitting him squarely and getting the top of his shirt wet. Looking down at it, he grimaced and swore under his breath. This part was still so difficult and was still eluding him. The next one that flew towards him, he reached out towards it trying with all of his might to pull it. He felt the water within the next one, for a split second, move towards him. Though the next tennis ball, he reached out and pulled back towards him. That was when a thought occurred to him: air was a liquid. Well, really it was a gas, but liquids were similar to gasses in that they filled the volume of whatever they occupied. And…they were filled with nearly three-fourths of water. The next one that came flying towards him, he reached out to grab hold of the liquid, trying to force the liquid and only the liquid towards him. The balloon floated, momentarily, towards him, altering its path towards him. Feeling suddenly extremely confident, he gave a small fist pump, before another water balloon flew nearly past him. Jumping back, he avoided the one before reaching out for the next one, pulling it towards him and managing to grab it with his hand.
“That’s… H… I definitely need to do this more often.”

Raph did really well at the projectile game. He learned quickly enough that he managed to get both kinds of Soul Command, both on solids and liquids, under control enough to guide the flying object to his hands. This went on until Raph looked like he was spent, Kazura flipping the switch on the machine and letting the motors spin to a stop. "Impressive. Practice like that will definitely improve your power if you give it enough time. The souls of objects have fascinated me for a long time now. I've used Soul Command to wash my hair, steam and iron wrinkles from my suit, and keep cigar smoke out of my office, among other things. The every day applications are pretty cool when it comes down to it."
Talking about cigars made Kazura want to smoke. It had been awhile since he last indulged in that vice and suddenly craved a cigarette. That was how addiction started, he told himself, but he decided to give in today. "Want to practice Soul Command on gasses? You don't have to smoke if you don't want to, but I'm going to light one and you can practice manipulating the smoke if you want." Sitting down cross legged on the floor once he had obtained his cigarette and lighter, Kazura took a deep breath in of the nicotine and other tar gunk and let out a similar deep breath. Having practiced plenty of different techniques involving his lungs and the contents within, Kazura had no problem separating the "good stuff" from the "bad stuffs" with Soul Dominance and breathing out what he didn't want in his lungs and just leaving behind the feel good chemicals he wanted.
The smoke he let out he also manipulated into a few different shapes as he exhaled. He started with rings of smoke, moved to more complicated shapes like regular octagons with perfectly defined sides, and ended with the shape of a horseshoe crab. He would leave the offer standing for Raph to have a smoke break as well, but would then just start exhaling smoke normally for the younger Fullbringer to play around with using Soul Command. When the cigaratte was all burnt out, Kazura would stand up and address Raph again. "Stick around for a little while, see if you can get the feel for how UE runs and if its something you'd like to be a part of. Unless you need to get back to whatever job you were at before you came inside?"

Raphael continued manipulating the solid tennis balls and the liquid filled sacks for a few minutes, before he began to feel the fatigue catching up to him. He finally had to stop and bent over a bit, hands on his knees, and took in a few breaths. It was like running several miles without stopping and he needed a bit to bring his center back, though it was also exciting at the same time. He wanted to find out how far he could push such an ability, knowing that if he was going to be able to combat the hollows and protect the world better than the Shinigami, he was going to need such power. He knew that Luca didn’t believe in the powers of humanity, but Raph would prove him wrong.
Kazura turned off the machine and started heading towards a small area that seemed to be an area for smoking. Raphael followed him, curious as to what he meant by manipulating gasses. “I’ll certainly come to try my hand at gasses, though I don’t really smoke.” He sat across from Kazura and watched as the man took in a large drag of his cigarette and then exhaled, releasing a large cloud of smoke. Raphael watched, transfixed, as Kazura changed the shapes of the smoke in many different ways. When the last one ended looking like a horseshoe crab, Raphael couldn’t believe his eyes. It was a bit surreal to think that something like that could happen.
But even as his smoke creations faded, he exhaled another time. This time, Raphael saw fit to try his hand, and holding out a hand, began to try and will the smoke into specific shapes. At first the shapes were, well, not shapes at all and resembled more cumulonimbus clouds, in the midst of forming into something. And he tried again, this time getting a more discernable shape out of his attempt, though it was still fairly amorphous. He tried once more, but the smoke dissipated too quickly. He frowned, as the smoke dissipated and then shrugged. He could try again with lots of different kinds of smog…
“This was technically my last job for the day. The only thing that I need to do, is get the truck back in a few hours. I’ve got some time to stick around and, I think that I’ll do just that for a little bit. Regardless, it’s clear to me that I’ve got more shit to work on and learn and that’s something that I’m looking forward to.”

Kazura enjoyed his cigarette to the end and listened to Raph explain that he didn't really have to be anywhere more today and that he admitted he had a lot to work on, but that he was looking forward to it. It was the same drive to get more power, more control that Kazura himself had felt seven years or so ago when he had first developed his Spiritual powers by studying spiritual beings and experimenting with reiatsu for over a year, catalyzed by his fight with Souza. "I'm glad you're looking forward to it. The life of a Fullbringer may be dangerous at times, but it can be filled with amazing things. Once you have the power to produce raw reiatsu from your body, the options for abilities you can learn increases tremendously."
"It is an advanced skill, but one that is highly versatile and useful. Keep practicing and I'll show you more some day. For now, though, I should get back to upgrading our network's defenses..." Kazura gave a small smirk and a teasing wink as if to say "I haven't forgotten what started this whole day" and then proceeded to get up off the floor and dust himself off. He'd shown Raph quite a few tricks to practice today, and that was going to be a good starting point for the younger man's training in fullbringer-hood. If Raph had nothing more to say, questions to ask, or ideas for what he wanted to train with today before they wrapped up, Kazura would let him up to the normal floors of the building and show him a few common areas of the company before he had to return his truck.
