Thread Title: Pvp, NDE Participants: "Taka" Sar, Kira World: Human World Death Setting: Non Death Enabled Rating: PG-13 Location: General Karakura, near one of Taka's safe houses Special Conditions: None Circumstances: Kira touches down in the world of the living, causing a ruckus that catches the attention of Taka.
It was about midday in Karakura. The sun wasn't quite ready to set over the horizon, but it was quickly approaching. The wind was weak, but steady, keeping the temperature from being unbearable. If someone looked up, they'd see that there wasn't a cloud in the sky, but for the spiritually aware, they'd see a pair of sliding doors. High above Karakura, the doors slid open, revealing a tall redheaded woman, wearing a black dress. An ornate dagger hung at her waist, with one hand resting atop its black leather handle. The woman smirked as she looked down, drinking in the sights as sounds of the city below.
It had been a long while since Kira had taken a mission to the world of the living, probably a few years give or take a few months. She wanted to say that a lot has changed since her last visit, but that would be a lie. Everything looked much the same as the last time. While this was the first time she was visiting Japan, human technology and innovation was still as impressive as ever. It was amazing how none in the Soul Society bothered to try and incorporate this into the Rukongai. Whatever, it didn't matter to her in the end. Maybe she'd do something if she became a captain, but that was nowhere near the here and now. Now, she was here to kill some hollows. She pulled out a small telescope, and looked around the city.
It didn't take long. She had been warned about this particular city, that it was the biggest hotspot for spiritual activity on Earth. The fact that there was a hollow, roaming around on the top of some buildings, was good proof of that being true. The hollow was roughly a mile or so away from where she stood, so Kira had to make sure she didn't miss. She put the telescope away, and couched down, with one foot slightly behind the other. With a burst of strength, the shinigami exploded forward, leaping off of the platform of airground she'd been standing on not a moment prior, leaving only a ripple of air in her wake.
She practically flew forward, moving like a missile through the air. Her hair whipped behind her, as she let out screams of excitement and delight, drawing her tiny weapon from its sheath. It took roughly ten seconds to reach over to where the hollow was lurking around, stalking a prey she hadn't seen. In that time, the creature had moved down to the streets, ready to strike down its prey. It never got the chance to, as Kira slammed into the side of it, dagger first. Her strength and momentum dragged it down the road, crushing the pavement underneath. The two bounced a few times, before the hollow finally landed on its side, the momentum finally dying out after sliding against the ground for a half dozen feet.
As Kira ripped her Zanpakuto from the hollow, she inspected her handiwork. The masked creature was well and truly dead, as indicated by the beast turning into partials of Reshi before her very eyes. She could only smile at her accomplishment, even with the collateral damage she'd caused to the streets. It was lucky that this was a less populated area, or else she might be sending a few less than pleased pluses to the Soul Society along with the hollow. She walked away from the hollow, placing the dagger back into its sheath, and strutting towards where she'd touched down, all the while wearing a pleased smile on her face.

Taka wasn't one to really be able to sense spiritual pressure. But she was very skilled when it came to noticing things. the way that things sort of quieted. A few humans who were spiritually aware turned in a specific direction. And she herself found herself turning and scanning around, trying to see what they saw. Though she didn't really have to go looking, not when suddenly a hollow, and a shinigami, suddenly SLAMMED into the street near her. Her brows raising in surprise at the tremendous show of strength as the....woman with the strange modification to their shinigami uniform promptly obliterated the street beneath her as well as the hollow she had landed on.
Taka rose to her feet, furrowing her brows a little as she saw the crazed-looking woman casually get up and start to put her zanpaku'to away. She herself narrowing her eyes a little. Standing up and promptly making her way toward the woman. She activated Shine Sar, promptly smothering the noise from her body as she walked up behind them, stopping a few feet away before speaking out, corming a break in her veil so that she could address the shinigami. "Oi! Soul Reaper! You can go ahead and leave this area. I have this place covered." She asserted firmly. Already the people around her were panicking, and running off. Thankfully nobody would be focusing on actually litening or even looking at her as she spoke to the soul reaper. this was bad, after all. Not only did this soul reaper look a little unhinged, but she seemed completely uninterested in keeping a low profile.
Her gaze drifted down to the damage to the ground and she couldn't help but wrinkle her nose a little. It reminded her of Yoko. Just a little. Though she wasn't sure if this person was as strong or stronger than she had been. She remembered the woman had been incredibly strong, and their fullbring had been more than she could actually bust through. This shinigami seemed like she might just be as strong, if perhaps stronger than Yoko had been. All the same, she didn't let her concerns show. She remained calm, and passive as much as she could be. Even if she would remove this woman by force if need be, there was no reason to broadcast this particular fact.
Thankfully, she didn't really LOOK like she was anything more than just some human who could see spirits. She seemed human, after all. Suppressing her spiritual pressure. Not only that but she was dressed casually. A dark red tanktop and pants, she also had a jacket on that matched the other articles, making her look like she'd just strolled out of a gym not too long ago. Her soft salmon hair tied up in a bun behind her head. Hardly a very girly woman, nothing like the sort of curvaceous beast infront of her. But she still had a distinct femininity about her that would keep her from being confused with a man. An aethetic of a tomboy, and a fighter. As just past her sleeves, one could see bandages bound up to her knuckles, somewhat outting her as a fighter, even if ironically, she wasn't that great at it. It was, however, a look that garnered respect and gave an impression of strength to punks who thought she might be a prime target to mug. It saved her the trouble of having to deal with them using her powers after all.
All in all, a look that HOPEFULLY would get this shinigami to fuck off without any issues.
Kira had been in the middle of fixing her hair, when she heard someone yelled out something that caught her attention. Normally, she would have ignored someone yelling, due to her particular lack of a presence to the regular human. But when someone calls out the term 'Soul Reaper' in her general direction, well, how could she possibly in good faith ignore it? Turning around, she saw a girl dressed very strangely. Kira couldn't say she was used to the modern attire that most people wore these days. From what little she remembers from her life, she knew that women didn't dress like that.
She tilted her head at her outfit, trying to understand what she was looking at. Tight pants, loose shirt and a jacket? Plus bandages around her hands, with her hair done up in a bun. She was fairly muscular, from what she could tell. She could obviously see spirits, since she was staring straight at her. Then what she said caught up with her. So she could leave, could she? Needless to say, Kira was none too impressed with the boldness of this presumably young woman. "You have this place covered, do you?" She said, an unamused tone coloring her voice. She rested her hand on her hip, right above her dagger.
As if she could trust the empty words of some human. Firm and assertive her tone might have been, she wasn't about to slack off on her duties. In all honesty, she actually had been about to leave to somewhere else. If the strangely dressed woman hadn't challenged her, she'd have already been gone by now. But Kira wasn't about to stand down from a challenge, and she really didn't like the attitude of this girl. "So I'm supposed to just take the word of some ballerina getting out of class? I don't think so. Run along home girl, unless you want me to really help you 'cover' this place." She threatened in a musical tone of voice.
Kira is a woman that had died young around the fifties. She was more used to women dressed in either dresses, outfits with skirts, or the girls that wore pants, pretending to be like the boys. So, naturally, seeing a woman dressed up in a manner with tighter clothing, and a bun in her hair, and with an athletic build, ballerinas was the first thing that crossed her mind. Kira wasn't about to take lip from this mannish chick, who thought she could do her job better than she could. Just because this girl was a human, didn't mean that Kira wouldn't slap her around. Killing was going too far, but she was bullheaded enough to beat a human down. She'd give her the chance to back down and leave, and if she did, Kira would drop the matter and forget about it. But if she didn't, Kira would show her exactly what a musician like her was made of.
Taka lifted a brow slightly at that and narrowed her eyes for just a moment at that, making note of a certain look she saw on the woman's face. Ahhhh, huh. She'd seen that look before. The scan up and down her frame. Of course her pants weren't THAT tight...were they? All the same, that look of silent judgement was something she was used to seeing on much older folk more than anyone. That open disdain for how she chose to dress. Huh. She had assumed given the more modern looking knife that this was a more modern shinigami. Ah well, nothing she was going to really beat herself up over. All the same, the point stood that it seemed this woman wasn't just going to fuck off like she would like them to. A shame at that.
Still, Taka reached up and brushed a lock of hair bac k, shaking her head just a little as she let her eyes fix on the woman's face. She was very aware of that hand near the blade. If Kira was trying to be slick then she'd find that it was fairly hard to pull one over on Taka. even with her limited senses, she still had a good knack for noticing things. "I'm afraid that wasn't really a request. " She noted calmly at that, reaching up and gently peeling her top open just a bit, a small ammount to expose a black tattoo on her clavicle. 良. There was a soft glow, and assuming that Kira didn't do anything rash, Taka would be able to unseal the mark, and promptly produce a handful of coins, the tattoo itself vanishing.
"Here. This is what you guys use for money right?" She held her hand just infront of her, palm-up, showing about a thousand Ryo to the shinigami. "Save yourself the trip to Fifth division-" That was the healing one right? "-and get back into your wooden gate. Hollow's dead right? Just head back to your little sky palace, and don't look back. You get deployed again? Request another place. Understand?" She stated firmly enough. Making it clear that she intended for this shinigami to head out. If at all possible, she wanted this woman out. to back down. and to be smart and not get herself hurt. This was, after all, her self justification.
To some extent, she knew that Shinigami weren't evil. In much the same way she'd deduced that at least not at their core, Bounts as a whole were not evil. Not ALL of them at least. So it stood to reason that there should be good Shinigami as well. So she was doing her due diligance. A peace offering. And instructions to never show up in Karakura again. It was the very least she could do. But past this point? She intended on sending this shinigami back to Soul society in no condition to be fighting anything. And if necessary, in a body bag. She was tired of these fucking idiots coming into Karakura, making a mess, and drawing in hollows like locusts. And she was tired of letting her employees suffer to get what needed done. She was rusty as all hell. But she had every intention of shaking that rust off to give this woman a reality check.
Technique Description and Effects : This technique is a simple sealing process. By drawing a seal onto the ground with one's reiatsu, the user can seal an object or entity into their body in the form of a tattoo. This tattoo must scale with the size of whatever it is that is sealed onto the user, with a percent linked to the size of the object in feet. The tattoo must take up 1% of the user's body for every foot in size the object has (This applies to the largest dimension the object has. If a broom that is four feet long, and only half a foot wide is taken in, and a board of wood four feet long and three feet wide are made, then both tattoos would take up 2% of the user's body as 4 feet is the largest dimension). A finger would compose about 1% of the body, the hand about 5%, an entire limb about 15%, the Torso takes up 30%, Head takes up 10%
Object and entities sealed within this space are put in stasis, and maintain qualities from when they were sealed (Outside of things on a post-specific timer). No living thing can ever be sealed against it's will, regardless of OS or Class superiority. Additionally, no Attack can be sealed ever. Because of this, this technique is largely unuseful in direct combat, and generally is only used as a utility power.
Technique Drawbacks: While there is no reiatsu cost for normal sealing and unsealing outside of combat, if the user has at least 250 Instincts, they will be able to perform the unsealing and sealing ritual quickly enough to be used in combat. In this manner, the technique costs 100 reiatsu to seal/unseal an object or individual. Release weapons may never be sealed. Additionally, while the general state of an object is maintained, normal duration for the item being sealed is retained. (If something that lasts 4 posts is sealed, if the object is unsealed 2 posts later, it will have 2 posts left before it expires. ) This ensures that only objects with naturally long life and duration are utilized, or else are only sealed for brief moments at a time. Stasis-bound objects and entities, while they maintain their basic state, still take damage and suffer effects while sealed.
The shinigami could feel her blood start to boil at the gal of this woman. Wasn't a request? Was she trying to piss her off? But that wasn't the last straw for Kira. No, the last straw was what she did next. Reaching her hand underneath her shirt, and pulling out a wad of cash. In no uncertain terms, she was telling how little she thought of Kira, of how little she thought of Shinigami as a whole. Her jaw dropped, as a look of disbelief mixed with a snarl of rage. The sheer audacity of this human would have been something she'd have respected, if it wasn't being directed at her. It took the red-head a few seconds to collect herself, before a look of fury crossed her face.
"How dare you!?" Her voice cracked briefly. "You think I can be bought off like some street-walking whore!?" Kira took a quick breath, before taking a half step forward. She threw both of her arms back, before bringing them both forward, slamming them against one another. The result was a thunderous crack, as the air was violently shoved aside. Kira had created a shockwave, aimed directly for the object of her anger. The pavement was torn asunder, as the ripple of destructive air raced for her, traveling at the speed of a cero. After that, the shinigami quickly took a fighting stance, drawing her dagger into her hand in a reverse grip.
"You think I'm some sellout, willing to bend over, just because some jackass like you waves a few bills around?" She was well and truly angry at Taka by this point. "If you know enough about the Shinigami to know what the fourth squad does, then you know why I need to be here!" Kira walked around the scar that she left in the earth, thundering towards where the presumed human was before her attack. "If you want us gone, figure out how to solve the problem, and not fight the solution! Take over your governments, make armies to fight off the hollows! Don't be so pathetic as to need those long dead to defend your sorry asses!" She yelled out, close to ranting at this point.
As angry as she was, Kira didn't want this girl dead. Even though she was probably older than what her appearance dictated, she looked like a kid. She really didn't want something like that haunting her memories. She also wasn't ready to pull out her Shikai just yet. She didn't have a great deal of reiatsu, so it would be bad to burn a chunk of her energy if she didn't need it. She knew she was the aggressor in this. A bigger person would have just walked away. But she was a petty woman. It burned her up inside that she thought she could talk down to her like that. She, someone who's here, mostly to protect those who can't defend themselves. She couldn't let such an insult stand

Taka lifted a brow and grimaced just a little, her brain flashing back to her spar with Yoko, as well as a few of her own men. And this woman seemed as strong as Yoko had been. And much stronger than some of her men happened to be. She knew a shockwave was coming her way. Almost immediately, the air twisted around her, injecting her roots into the air and promptly she was jerked out of the way, vanishing from sight as the air around her seemed to swallow her up even as she blurred out of sight. OF course, to Kira it PROBABLY would look like she was just moving very fast. But that wasn't what happened entirely. She intended on using her Mod Soul Ability. Of course, unlike most races, her power was not a release, and so her reiatsu would go completely undetected, though only because of Kira having zero ability to sense reiatsu. Thank goodness for small blessings.
The sight of that shockwave shredding through where she'd just been made her tense up. She'd have to keep her eye out for that. At least that's what she thought as she slipped up behind the Shinigami. Air Stream wasn't quite like other step techniques. There was no necessity of a straight line for her. She had swept entirely around the woman and on their left side, cnricling entirely. She would have gone directly behind the woman. But well, if this woman was a fighting veteran, if she lots sight of Taka entirely, there might be the possibility of being used to reacting from behind. S instead she moved to the woman's left, ejecting more roots from her palm to form a long blade. Hidden by her Shine sar, as she'd rake that two meter blade out and aimed to rip clean through the woman's shoulder, aiming to separate it from the rest of the woman's body.
It would be right then that the veil would....dip. A wavering ripple as Taka revealed her body, as well as that burning blade that was growing from her palm, eyes narrowed at the Shinigami as she aimed to keep her cool. Revealing herself was risky. But well, if she wanted to end this fight without having to kill the woman, she would have to try and timidate them. Wether she fully managed to sever the woman's arm, or they somehow managed to mitigate the damame, Taka would reveal herself all the same. Not deactivating her ability, but simply opening it up slightly so that she could speak to the Shinigami. Also it was the same selective opening that allowed her to stand without just burning her way through the ground.
"Consider that a warning. Don't let your pride be the end of you. You're not needed here. Nor is an army for that matter." She'd explain with narrowed eyes in the woman's direction. Her eyes peeled for any attacks in her direction. Much less if she went reaching for that Znapkau'to again. IF her plan worked right, maybe the injury would pull the woman out of that attitude and pride. But well, if it didn't. She had to make sure they didn't go releasing their Zanpaku'to. One of the many things she was grateful for was not having a ritual to release. If she could, she'd be prepared to cut off the woman's arms before she had the chance to release their sword. After all, depending on what type it was, it may very well spell trouble for her. She also was breathing a little hard through her nostrils. Thankfully or Kira, they both had issues with reiatsu and stamina.
-150 Reiatsu for Air Stream Class 6, 15x variant Air Stream Speed: 2625 -200 reiatsu for Shine Sar Level 4, Post 1/5 -150 Reiatsu for Burning Blade Class 5, Post 1/8 Instinct needed to Sense her General Direction: 200 (400 after Stealth Bonus) Instinct needed to Sense her Exact Location: 250 (450 after Stealth Bonus) Points in Anti Stealth reduce by 100 each.
{Air Stream Class 6} Technique Name: Moddo Ne: Kūki-Ryū (Mod Root: Air Stream)
Class: 6, 4, 2
Technique Type: Step Tech, Kigen
Usable By : Mod Souls (Non-Giga, Non-Nakka)
Technique Description and Effects : This Technique is a True step technique, usable only by Mod Souls, specifically those who have not been tainted by hell or who have abandoned their pill form. This technique uses Mod Root to spread into the air around their bodies, completely eliminating wind resistance and even manipulating the air around them in order to shunt their bodies in any way they desire. Additionally, as the technique manipulates through mod root as opposed to bursts of reiatsu, this technique does not cause a flux in the user's reiatsu during use.
At Class 6, this is a simple step technique, only instead of being based on the user's feet being on a solid surface, this technique needs no solid base to perform, and simply shoves the user in any direction they wish at 8x their normal speed. Unlike most step techniques, this does not need to be performed in a straight line as, again, this is not simply launching from a single point, but consciously moving the user around using the surrounding air. At Profficient, the speed boost raises to 11x normal speed (increases cost to 100 reiatsu), and at Mastered the boost becomes 15x normal speed (Increases cost to 150 reiatsu).
At Class 4, this technique can not only apply to general movement and maneuvering, but also can be used to focus on a single part of the Mod Soul's anatomy in use for combat. This allows the tech to be used on a single limb. This boost is a flat 3x the user's base speed and only applies to the effected limb. This boost of speed lasts 1 post at learned, 3 posts at proficient, and 5 posts at Mastered. Even at learned, this class of the technique counts as a long-term stat boost.
At Class 2, this technique is further amplified, applying the technique to the user's entire body like in class 6, but with a powerful speed boost similar to class 4. In this use, the user's speed is increased by 150% (100 becomes 250), and the area around the Mod soul's body has the wind moving around them at such a pace that anything that comes too close to the mod soul is subjected to shredding wind currents, these currents have no offensive strength as it is not reiatsu-infused and is just simply physical air currents, meaning that any type of barrier or skin defense can stop them, however this means that it cannot be resisted without using a defense, and any unprotected area of the body will be damaged. At Learned, anything within 5 meters of the user is subjected to shallow lacerations from the wind. At Proficient, anything within 2 meters of the user is subjected to deep lacerations. At Mastered, anything within 1 foot of the user's body will be shredded, stripping flesh down to the bone. Lasts for 6 posts.
Technique Drawbacks: It costs twice the normal amount of TTP to Learn, Profficient, and Master this technique because of the fine control involved compared to any other step technique, additionally it does not have ties to a discipline or martial art skill as it is an intrinsic ability inherent to true mod souls. The user must have Mastered Mod Root of equal or greater class than the class of this technique they are trying to learn. Additionally, this technique costs 50 reiatsu at class 6 (100 for 11x, 150 for 15x), 250 reiatsu at class 4, and 600 reiatsu at class 2. Unlike any other step technique, this takes up a technique slot.
At Class 2, this technique is so straining, that regardless of class, the user cannot use ANY step techniques (Including the lower class versions of this same technique) while it is active as it strains the pill rather than the actual body. Class 2 of the technique cannot be refreshed, and the user must not use it again for 2 posts after it has ended or else they risk heavily damaging their pill itself, crippling the mod soul in such a way that no matter what body they are in, they will have halved speed, strength, and senses until their pill has time to recover (a Long rest). Any use of this technique in a pill that is already damaged from overuse will obliterate the pill and kill the Mod Soul after the 3 posts, not even getting the full duration before they lose their life.
Unavailable to Mod Soul Gigas and Nakkabaki Made By: Hebika
{Shine Sar Level 4} Level 4: At the fourth level, Sar's Level 3 increases in effectiveness. Not only can she take in material using her soul's gravitation, but if she chooses to, she can slip through it while not damaging it. In this way she can slip through a wall without leaving any trace of her physical presence behind. At this level she can even prevent the burning or sound bombardment of her earlier levels from damaging or altering that which she is passing through. Though on the other hand, her ability to drag in more material and at an increased rate, able to take in 20 cubic meters of material in per post, and up to a limit of 50 cubic meters in total. This level lasts for five posts and still only costs 200 reiatsu. The material she is shifting through cannot be alive. When this level of release is ended, the sudden lack of gravity CAN cause a burst of material radially, with an offensive power equal to her own up to 1 meter from her body, and half her offensive stat up to 5 meters from her body, however doing this costs an extra 50 reiatsu.
At this level, the necessary instinct needed to detect Zaluu sar despite her stealth increases to 200 to notice her general direction and 250 to find her exact location, still mitigated by stealth and anti-stealth at increments of 100.
{Burning Blade Class 5} Technique Name:Technique Name: Moddo Toge, Nensho Ha (Mod Root, Burning Blade)
Class: 7-1
Technique Type: Kigen Tech
Usable By: Mod Souls
Technique Element: Fire/Air
Technique Description and Effects: This technique utilizes the manipulation of air in order to create an offensive attack for the mod soul to use. By extending their roots into the air outside of their body, they can rapidly compress and twist the air in a confined space, creating a large amount of friction. At base, this technique creates blades of heated air which can be used for combat, though the uses for this technique are quite diverse. Limited to the user's speed for blade movement.
At learned, this ability allows the user to create heated air currents in the shape of a blade. These blades do not have a direct damaging fire to them, but instead cause damage by sheer heat, causing objects that come in contact with the 'blades' to melt, burn, ect. Rather than blades, these areas can be considered zones of heat, and are much less visible than the version at proficient and mastered. At Proficient and Mastered, this technique can be used to ignite the air from the friction, creating blades of fire which can burn and even cut through objects i addition to simple heating. The Learned version of this technique is still useable at higher levels.
At class 7 this technique is fairly limited. With the ability creating small knife-sized blades up to 12 inches in length. These are generally not incredibly useful against longer range weapons but they serve their purpose. Blades can only be up to three inches in width. At class 6 this technique can create blades up to a meter in length and up to a foot in width. At class 5 this technique can generate blades up to 2 meters in length and up to a foot in width. At class 4 this technique can generate blades up to 4 meters in length and up to a meter in width. At class 3 this technique can generate blades up to 8 meters in length and up to 2 meters in width. At class 2 this technique can generate blades up to 16 meters in length and up to 4 meters in width. At class 1 this technique can generate blades up to 32 meters in length and up to 8 meters in width.
How to use technique (How is it activated?): See above
Technique Drawbacks (Limitations, repercussions for use, etc) Costs 100 reiatsu (+25 reiatsu per class (275 reiatsu at class 1) to generate up to four blades. Blades last 8 posts. As with any Mod Root technique, this ability causes extensions of the user's body instead of pure reiatsu, meaning that the space inside of the blades are considered a part of the mod soul's body, making them vulnerable to contact-based hazards (Example: Poisons can spread through these roots) Blades can be generated from any part of the users body.
The woman had vanished from where she once had, because of course she did. There were few people who could stand up to one of her attacks unscathed, so dodging was the most obvious action for someone to take. She felt a gut of wind blow past her right side, obviously trying to strike her from behind. Angry, she whipped around, pointing her fingers towards the coward in a snapping motion... only to find her opponent missing. Her eyes widened in surprise. She wasn't behind her. Kira lurched forward, knowing it was incredibly stupid to stand still for an opponent she couldn't see. That motion was the only thing that saved her from losing her left arm in its entirety.
She could feel a blinding pain erupt from her shoulder, as a blade bit deep into her skin and bone. She fell, but spun in a way that allowed her to land on her butt, facing her attacker. She was ready to throw a punch at the woman, when she actually saw her. She stood above her, close but out of her reach. The air around her rippled like the fabric of a curtain pulled aside. Kira could see that not all of the girl was there. Parts of her, like her feet, were simply not there, like pieces cut out of a picture. Then there was the blade that looked to be growing out of her arm, dripping red with blood. With her blood. At least she had the respect not to attack a downed opponent, Kira would give her that much.
The girl gave her one last warning, telling her to leave. Kira scoffed. "It's not pride." She told her opponent, pointing her arm and finger at her. "It's self respect." With a wild grin, Kira closes her fist, and slams it into the ground beside her. The shockwave shook the ground, and sent a wave of rock and asphalt in every direction. She used the force of the attack to launch herself away from the woman. As she sailed through the air, she pressed her fingers against the flat of her blade. Power coursed through her weapon, glowing a brilliant crimson red. As she landed, she kicked her foot into the earth, creating another shockwave around her, before she screamed out to the world.
"Hear the siren's wail and die, Jūkinzoku!"
In a flash of light and power, the weapon in her hands had changed. What once was an ornate dagger had morphed, and was now a very large ax. Or was it a guitar? Indeed it was an odd fusion of twin-headed ax, with all the features of a guitar as well. Kira wasted no time, and started strumming the cords. Instantly, the sound of her guitar created a cone of sound, ripping apart the streets like a hurricane. To everyone connected to the earth, it would feel like an earthquake, the ground started shaking so hard. The soundwave was roughly ten feet wide and tall, traveling the speed of a normal shockwave, but with a strength of 660. "The name's Kira, and I'm the greatest guitarist of all time!" She used her words to activate her Good Vibrations, meaning Taka would be in for a nasty surprise if she tried stabbing her in the back again.
Shikai: 200 1/10 Good Vibrations: 100 Total Reiatsu Remaining: 700
{Techs used}Shikai Overall Ability: [By either strumming her cords, or speaking loud enough, Kira makes vibrations that her ax then turns into attacks through the neck of the guitar, or the blade, throwing out waves of sound based on the strength put into the vibrations. Her abilities are purely physical, coming entirely from her body, and not her soul. Continued vibrations via voice, strumming, or even smashing her weapon into something, will allow her to create these waves of sound. The abilities that are used like this only have 2/3's of her strength.]
1. Good Vibrations: This ability is both her safest move, and the most risky. This is a purely defensive ability that blocks attacks with a lower offencive stat then she has in strength, while she is playing her guitar. It does so, by letting the vibrations her guitar make, flow through her, thus making her body tremble. Anything unfortunate enough to come into contact with her will be hit with the full force of her strength. Many... MANY times in mere moments. This ability is however dangerous, because if she somehow loses contact with the earth beneath her, or something underneath her in general, the ability will quickly destroy her. Any attack that has the a high enough offencive stat to exceed her strength, will have its power reduced by the strength of the music. This ability must be maintained by constant vibrations, or it will be lost the following post. This ability costs 100 reiatsu per post.
She had to admit the woman had spunk. She was a little surprised that the woman had actually noticed her stepping. Had she messed up? even if they hadn't read the step entirely, she was still a little impressed. But then again shinigami were warriors. All the same, she'd have to do some tests with her abilities later, curious. If only she had a photographic memory. All the same, she stood firmly as she listened to the woman's fiery retort. Though the woman would not see any flames on the blade. As the blade itself was well....superheated plasma, flames, not actually physical. Which made them ass for blocking, but well what could you do?
More than she expected admittedly. Despite having sliced one of the woman's arms clean to the bone, the shinigami still managed to push through the pain and SLAM into the ground. Her eyes wide for just a moment, startling her into returning to her stealth as she was tossed up and into the air, promptly watching as the woman shot up and into the air. Not even a step technique? She supposed that was efficient though. She could feel no ground beneath her feet. Clever. Against anyone but a mod soul. Without even straightening herself up, she promptly shot forward and around, speeding clean past Kira's flying body wiuth her Air Current. After all, the technique did not actually require her to be standing on anything, since it was the manipulation of the air around her body, not an actual use of her legs to move.
Twisting herself in the air in the midst of the motion, Taka woould, in her invisible state, very suddenly be positioned in the path of Kira's trajectory. She was......well awful at sports. She didn't bother swinging the blade. And this time, there was no air current, not that Kira would have felt one as she herself shot through the air. But Taka's ability flowed and dilated the matteer around her. Slipping through mateirals, between them, as opposted to just regularly moving through space. With her ability fully active, she made no sound, nor would be seen or felt as she arrived with her arm held straight out, and promptly clotheslined the Shinigami Mid-leap.
That Burning blade would cleave clean through the woman's other arm, as well as the shoulder, and all the way down her hip, aiming to shear her arm previously un-cut arm, as well as hopefully a good section of the woman's leg at the thigh or knee from the rest of her body. That blade of now-invisible flames would be burning clean through the woman if she succeeded, HOPEFULLY keeping the woman from being able to release her weapon. Though of course, shinigami were notoriously durable, she'd heard. So she had no idea if, even with a successfull crippling of the woman's arms, if she'd be able to release her Zanpaku'to. And IF she were, then Zaluu would promptly use another Air Stream step to launch herself into a nearby building, sliding clean through the structure, slipping seamlessly into the material, before she'd pop up onto the roof, landing gently...and then stumbling.
She really was an awful athlete, but all the same, her only comfort was that she hadn't been seen, and so the woman would pop her head up over the edge of the building, peering over the edge to check the status of the Shinigami down below. And, if they had managed to actually release, furrowing her brows as she would witness the strange ability that the woman's Zanpaku'to had. Some sort of ....boom guitar? An admittedly very cool ability. Very 90s cartoon sort of deal to be sure. Though she'd have to puzzle a little in how to actually approach such an ability. Of course, if the woman was Unable to actually make her release, well Taka would....probably start feeling bad. And try to think of a way to recommend that the woman withdraw without sounding condescending, since the woman's ....self respect, had gotten in the way of things before.

Kira thought she'd have been able to buy her self at least a few seconds with her shockwaves, but clearly that wasn't the case. A burning pain cut deep into her back and arm. She let out a scream of pain, as she slammed down against the gorund with a meaty thud. She heard a second thud beside her a moment after. She thought it might have been the woman, come to stand over her a second time, but that wasn't the case. Her own right arm lie next to her, charred at where it would connect to the shoulder. All she could smell was burnt flesh, wafting in her face, and it was starting to make her sick.
The pain in her shoulder had been one thing. It was a single would, and even with how deep it was, she could have kept fighting on. But a wound to her back, a wound this deep... Kira tried to get up. She tried to force herself to stand. She didn't see the woman move, didn't hear her approach, couldn't sense her at all. And now she was lying on her back, with her arm severed from her body. Kira looked around, trying to find her assailant, but couldn't. She wasn't there. If her lack of feet earlier was any indication, either she could turn invisible, or transform into the wind, and if the scent of burning meat was any indication, it was likely the former.
Kira was in a sorry stat. Her one arm barely worked, her other one was gone, and her could feel that her spine was close to severed. If she had been any weaker, she'd have likely been cut in two. If the girl had been any more bloodthirsty, that would have been her head on the ground. The shinigami grit her teeth, holding back a snarl. Even if she could hold on a little bit longer, she'd succumb to her injuries before she scored a lucky hit on an invisible enemy, especially one that was so fast. Kira put her knife between her teeth, rolled over, and grabbed her arm. She pushed herself to her feet, legs shaking violently in protest.
She worked her severed limb under her arm, as she reached for the dagger. As much as she loathed to admit it, she couldn't face this opponent. She was far too weak for this battle. She felt her face sink in shame, as she used the dagger to try and open a gate back to the seireitei. For as cowardly she felt that the power of her opponent was, she felt like a bigger one for trying to flee. It wasn't even guaranteed, since the woman could appear out of nowhere and cut her down. She really had no way to respond to her attacks. If she did manage to get the gate open, she would call out to the sky one last thing. "You win. You were right. you don't need us. But how many people can you protect from the hollows? Congratulations on driving off the shinigami, just trying to do her duty." And with that hateful message, she'd leave, like the wounded animal she was.

Well that worked out a lot better than she'd expected. All the same, she slipped her way down, to the ground and made her way over to the semicrippled shinigami as they seemed intent on trying to get up. It wasn't until Taka actually got closer to the woman that she actually spotted them fumbling with their zanpaku'to. Not to attack, but seemingly trying to open up one of those weird doors. Taka made no move to stop the woman, after all, this was the intended effect she had hoped to make in the first place. Of course, she was well ware this would probaly start trouble. but thankfully, she was just soem woman. At worst shinigami might be on the lookout for her, but she was a bount. This isn't exactly a step up from her usual danger.
"There are better places for you to be." She stated simply enough, that veil slipping only slightly. Showing a sliver of the woman's face from the tip of her head down to her shoulder, clearly ready to slip back into fight mode in the event that Kira tried any last ditch attacks on her. All the same, she eyed the blade that was being readied up to try and escape, narrowing her eyes just a little before looking back to Kira. A shame. She wondered how exactly they did that sort of thing. It might be worth looking into. After all, being stuck in the world of the living was a problem. She kept that thought to herself all the same, and focused on the woman in front of her.
"Your duty generally also includes exterminating a lot of the races in karakura. So I apologize if I'm not too comfortable with you guys around. All the same. I tried to do this peacefully. For what it's worth, you were interesting to fight." She noted calmly enough, looking over the woman from where she stood. A good 10 meters away. Precaution and all that. But all the same, the woman's sorry state almost gave her a tinge of regret. "Not that I was really all too much expecting it to work, but well. I tried my best. If it's any consolation, you're the best fight I've gotten out of a shinigami." She note calmly enough at that, attempting to life the battered woman's spirit somewhat. Though with the pillow talk over, she glanced at the zanpaku'to.
"So. That's how you guys get around huh? Never really seen it up close." She mused softly, rolling her shoulders just a little and watched calmly enough. "Must be nice, having the ability to peace out of whatever mess you guys like to leave. While the rest of us are stick with whatever you guys leave behind." She noted, sourly. But it would be pretty clear that it wasn't personally Kira that Taka seemed to have a problem with. "the bount. The Mod Souls. Ya'll just love leaving your shit all over the place. Though I guess that's more the fault of your superiors than it is yours." She murmured, looking Kira up and down. "But you're just a low rank right? Guess that kinda stuff isn't really your concern. You just do the work and get paid, right?"
Discretely, she had no idea if that was how it worked. she had very little information on how shinigami actually operated. So in some small way, she was trying to see if she could get any information on them from Kira herself. Would she expect retaliation? Would this case just be dismissed? Did she have friends? allies? Or was this woman just some low level worker who would run off, lick her wounds, and then be ignored by her peers? Would she be demoted for losing? She had no idea how any of that worked. And some ....small....tiny part of her almost wanted to sneak into Soul Society after her. But well no. That was no good. The truth of the matter was that she'd have no way back, and well. dying in soul society and abandoning her responsibilities in the world of the living wasn't exactly on her list of things to do. She'd have to get what she could out of these soul reapers.
Kira stopped at the gate's threshold, hearing the sound of the woman's voice. She shimmied around to face her, unable to keep a pained grimace off her face. As cowardly as the shinigami thought her powers were, she had still beaten her. She was the loser, and the woman had every right to hold that over her. If she wanted to talk with her, in exchange for her life, then so be it. Kira would wait and listen. Her form was once again shrouded by some invisible veil, concealing her form, making her appear as a floating torso. It was weird, but Kira couldn't exactly bring herself to care at the moment.
Better places for her to be? Feh, this place was a hot-spot of spiritual activity, with at least two different spiritual factions, and many other races congregating within the city. It was like a beacon to any halfway decent hollow mucking about. The more hollows that came here, the more hollows died without being purified, and the worse the balance of worlds became. Whatever that meant. It was just what she was told back in the academy, and not something she understood fully. It was, however, the reason she was told to either exterminate any inhuman spiritual races that she came across. She didn't agree with that though.
"Interesting to fight? Yeah right." Kira spit to the side. "I was about as interesting to beat as a dead horse." She might still be bitter, but given that she literally had her severed arm tucked under her left arm, she felt she had the right to be. "And you have every right to hate Shinigami. We suck. But did you ever consider how it might look on our side?" She asked rhetorically. "You think it's bad on this side? Try to image what it's like for us. You and your kind get attacked for existing, but we live under the boots of the bastards in power. If you have any potential, you're forced to join them."
She could still remember her time in the Rukongai well. It was a lawless place, filled with thieves and worse. There was no starvation, no need for food, and no chance for innovation. There was never a need to go further, since there was nothing to drive them forward, like suffering through an empty stomach in the nights. "Once you gain power, you start to starve. The only place that makes food consistently is the seireitei. And after that, if you try and leave..." Kira drew her blade, looking down at it with a hint of fear. "This explodes, and you're hunted down and killed. It's as much a military as it is a mob."
She returned the blade, sighing. "I don't give a rats ass if you exist, whatever you are, since I don't think you're human. You didn't ask to be born the way you were, and I'm not hunting you down just because you're artificially made. You deserve as much a chance at life as any of us. I'd still try to kill you if you were attacking humans, but that's something else entirely." Kira wasn't lying. Before this fight, she honestly didn't care about what Taka was. Now she wanted to beat her ass to even the score. She wouldn't let an insult like this sit. She'd be coming back later to return the favor, once she felt she was strong enough. Maybe in a less populated area.
The Mod soul tilted her head slightly at that. Her expression passive as the Shinigami gave her empassioned retort. Seeming to draw on her own turmoil and problems. And apparently, the problems of the sereitei. Or well, soul society as a whole. She surmised it made sense that they would at times be more like drafting or ....inciting enlistment. She could only imagine how crowded some areas of the afterlife must be. Though she did peer a little, intrigued. She made a mental note to ask around about more information regarding this. But all the same, she put a hand on her hip as she regarded the snarling shinigami, an understandable state given the condition that she seemed to be in
"I'm afraid that's not a luxury I can quite afford. I don't imagine there is any faction without hardship. But risking things is not really my Modus Operandi." She explained calmly enough. "Sorry if I don't exactly have any solutions to your little problem. Though as someone hunted by soul society, it's not that hard to evade them. Should you decide to ditch. I may even be inclined to protect you." She smirked slightly at that, resting the blade of her flaming sword on her shoulder, the fire seeming not to effect her. Of course, it DID seem to be a part of her. "Well. I think that we've made our points. I'm sure you have some healing to do. But try not to be so depressing in the future. The only thing holding you back is you. And truth be told. Given how scarce shinigami seem these days. LEaving the Gotei would probably reduce the number of people trying to kill you if anything."
And with that she gestured for the senkaimon. Making it clear that the shinigami should head on through. She intended to stick around an d take out the hollows that no doubt will have been drawn in by their little fight.

Kira rolled her eyes at the woman's words. She hadn't wanted pity from her, she wanted understanding. She could feel the arrogance radiating off her words. Little problem? Ditch the Soul Society? If only it were so simple. Kira felt her anger flair at the woman once again, but held her tongue. She was the victor today, not Kira. Her raw power was pointless in the face of her speed and invisibility. She might have been able to do something to her with her release, but it likely would have destroyed everything around them. It would have resulted in the death and misery of hundreds of people, and that wasn't worth the life of a single woman, or to satisfy her own feelings.
So, Kira waited for the assumed human to finish her piece, before walking through the gate without a word. The doors sealed themselves shut, before vanishing without a trace. As the shinigami traveled through the disgusting realm of the Dangai, she reflected on why she stayed with the Gotei. She had always wanted to be famous. It was a petty desire, but one that none the less drove her forward. As she got stronger throughout her time in the undead army, she realized that, as she got higher in the ranks, the more people respected her. The more people respected her, the more famous she was in the after life. No, she wouldn't leave the Gotei, she would become a captain, and rule in it. Even through the pain, she smiled at the goal. This was a reminder for her. Don't be complacent, and always strive to be better than who you were.
