Closing his copy of the book he was loaned, Aldwin sighed. Two weeks had passed since he had begun to read this novel, and frankly he wasn't impressed. It seemed that he was far from the target audience for the book, but at the same time, there really wasn't much he could do about it, having been out-voted by the other members of his book club. Still, though, it was certainly an interesting read, and gave him some ideas for the next book he could suggest. He stood up from the couch he was sitting on, and turned to the indoor balcony, with Mara leaning on the ledge, and called out to the girl. "Hey, I'm gonna head out for a little, keep the place locked down, yeah?" A slight smirk rose to his face as she laughed.
"You know you've no place to say that, right?" she asked with a smile, leaving him to nod, and grab a coat. Even during the summer, New York was still a somewhat cold state. It didn't hurt to bundle up a bit. With that, he walked out, and made his way to the garage of the complex. Unlocking his car, he hopped in, and tossed his book to the passenger's seat. He eyed the cover down for a second, seemingly lost in thought, before starting up the vehicle.
It was a fairly quick ride over to the local library. He checked the time on the dashboard; fifteen until noon. Perfect. He was just a bit early, which gave him ample time to look around the library and hopefully pick something else out for him to read on his downtime. Sure, he enjoyed the book club he was a part of, but at the same time, the women there didn't exactly have the best taste when it came to genres. Needless to say, he was sick of reading the same romance stories over and over again. He wanted something different, something that he could actually get himself immersed into. These romance novels were doing far from that for him, and he didn't want to sit around and hear these women in their mid to late thirties - albeit some of them were quite attractive - ramble on about how they wished they were in the protagonist's shoes.
