New missions were always somewhat of an exciting moment for Camila. She was always more than willing to take up any opportunity to obtain missions whenever she could, even if they were just a little out of her league sometimes. Well, this one seemed to be pretty on-par with what she'd be able to do at the moment; locate the source of a disturbance, and report back to Soul Society. Easy, no? Well, that's certainly how she thought it would be. Whether or not that would actually end up being the case, however, was a completely different story. Upon arrival, she immediately went to work!
"So, we're looking for some kind of 'disturbance', huh?" Albin had said from beside Camila, "I dunno about you, but I've certainly no clue where to start." She sighed in response. "Good, because this isn't your mission, now is it? This is a mission for me, if not then possibly the both of us if we're to consider it that way. Not solely you, a-hole." Her spirit scoffed. She set this aside, and continued to search for this supposed disturbance. She generally had no idea where to even begin looking, but certainly sooner or later she'd have a sign as far as where she could start.
Looking around the area where she had been told this disturbance would be around, Camila seemed to come across... nothing, really. Nothing out of the ordinary, anyway. She sighed. "Alright," she said, seeming to give up after a few short moments, "I've got nothing easier. Any ideas?" Albin stood around for a few short moments, with his hand on his chin. "Hmm..." he started, "maybe we should try talking to that girl over there." He held out his finger, pointing to a girl - a plus - sitting over on the corner, crying.
As if on instinct, Camila sprinted over to her, and crouched down slightly to be about her height. For dramatic effect, Albin started to rest his arm on Camila's head, but was instead quickly shooed off by the Soul Reaper. She turned her attention back to the girl. "What's wrong, why are you crying?" She took on a genuine concerned appearance, and continued pressing the girl for information. "Is there anything I can do to help you? What happened?" The girl couldn't seem to keep her composure even if she tried, and simply pointed over to her left, to a currently small bundle of dead hollows and pluses.
She was hungry. Plain and simple, it had been ages since the bat had managed to garner anything in the ways of sustenance. And with each day that passed without something to eat, the Beastclan had grown bolder and bolder, until finally she slipped into shinigami territory. At first she thought that she would have to fight one of those swordsmen. The shinigami that always plagued her thoughts and fears whenever she walked these populated streets.
But there was a boon, a salvation from her weakened state in the form of a guardian soul. Two pluses, alone in the darkness of a street. It had been simple enough for Kritia to sneak up on them. To close in without them being any the wiser. Those long, gangly claws reaching, until that child's eyes turned her way. But of course that didn't save the guardian that had been her target. They had turned in time for her claws to rip through their throat and face, and then for that body to be hurriedly snatched.
In the dark following her sudden capture of her prey, the Child was left to cry into the uncaring Night, as Kritia herself had retreated to a secluded, shadowy alleyway, munching away at the expiring Plus, their chain of fate starting to erode uselessly as she swallowed the rest of their form. The mess of blood in the wake of her feast being the only evidence of her crime.
But this wasn't enough in the slightest. There was still the little one. And to an animal like kritia, the taboo of consuming a younger animal was not something that occurred to her in the slightest. Young were simply an easy meal. At least that's what was coursing through the bat's instincts as she crept along the side of the buildings, crawling along, quietly, in the dead of the night, eyes searching.
Of course she didn't have to go very far, the child plus was still exactly where she'd left it. And even if it hadn't been, the sobs of the little one were all too easy to pick up on. But what she did not expect when she finally happened upon the young one's location, was to see something else. Not 10 meters away, Kritia spotted them. A Soul reaper. Seeming to be attempting to comfort the young thing. an obstacle to her meal. And a potential addition to it.
Those dark eyes slitted vertically, the bright glowing slits narrowing as Kritia began to slowly sneak her way toward the shinigami. Of course, it was her intention to simply sneak in. To close the distance between her and the shinigami so that she could dispatch them without any issue. But as luck would have it, at a very inopportune moment, the instant she began to start closing in, her luck ran out.
Through the tears and sobs, the child plus managed to look up and spot Kritia in her massive stature. That large, thin creature creeping along the side of the building. The blood of their guardian still fresh on her mouth and chin, with those eyes glowing ominously in the night. Just a single glance was enough to make the child shriek out in fear, pointing at the Beast Clan and sobbing out. No doubt alerting the shinigami to her location.
But it was too late now. In the past, Kritia might have just left it at that. The fear of shinigami had been something that had always driven her to keep a low profile to say the least. But now she was starving, and she was GOING to eat that Plus. She NEEDED to eat that plus. And if this soul reaper was going to get in the way of that, she would simply need to deal with them first.
Upon spotting the no doubt quite abnormal being, Camila was taken back quite a bit. There was no way that... thing, was human. Humanoid, maybe, but not human. She quickly drew her Asauchi, and stood in panic. She didn't quite freeze up, but she knew that there was something very, very wrong here. This young girl was going to die again if she couldn't interfere. She needed to protect her, and was going to do all that she could in order to do so.
"What the hell..?" Albin said inside of her head, quite confused. It appeared as though he had even less information about the beast than she did. Of course. "Can't say I've got any clue," she said aloud, though her desired audience need not be spoken to, "but all I do know is this girl is in danger if I don't do anything about this. I need to help." Albin was caught on his own words inside of her head. "Are you out of your fucking mind?? You'll get us both killed trying to take on this thing!" Camila merely smiled at this comment. "We'll be alright, I've got an idea."
She held her blade point-first at the beast, and stepped in front of the girl, blocking Kritia's view of her. "Hey!" She called out, "you looking for this girl?" She stepped aside, revealing the girl, who was now effectively scared shitless, and continued, "well, if you want her, you're going to get through me, first." Judging by the beast itself, she didn't really expect a response in return to her comments. "Camila Adaronde, unseated officer of the Thirteenth Squad of the Gotei 13. I'm not going to go easy on you, and I don't expect it in return!"
As she shouted these last few words, Camila began to run toward her opponent as fast as she could, even if that speed wasn't very quick. She held her blade to her side, running in a somewhat defensive position, as to be ready to block an attack should she need to. She needed to study this beast, as she could've easily been caught off guard should she try something sneaky. That was the last of her wants at the moment. Upon reaching a standard melee distance, Camila quickly put her blade in front of her face, as to block an attack should she need to.
Kritia narrowed her eyes slowly as she watched this strange shinigami suddenly turn their blade toward her. Her eyes darting rapidly back and forth between that Zanpaku'to and the soul that the woman was protecting. Her mind racing a little, in it's own simple, bestial limited capacity. She wanted to get at that plus. She narrowed her eyes, growling softly as she slowly began to drop down to the ground, keeping crouched and on all fours, pupils darting around.
Noise. Just straight up noise from this being. She was vaguely aware that they seemed to be saying something to them. And under normal circumstances she could.....vaguely understand the ins and outs of speaking. General subject. SOME simple sentences she understood well enough. But in that very moment, she was just too hungry to understand what they were saying in the slightest. At least not in a literal translation.
She could still understand perfectly what the woman MEANT. Even without understanding the noise coming from her facehole. This shinigami intended to protect this little ghostbutt from her stomach. And she wasn't going to be having any of that. Watching as the shinigami began to run toward her. If she were in a more.....manageable state, she might have actually laughed at the slow charge. But all the same, it was going to be met with violence.
When that blade was brought forward, she LUNGED, her eyes sharp, watching in case that blade moved, as she aimed to LATCH her mouth onto the shinigami's hands and BITING down onto the woman's fingers. Of course, she had no way of knowing that this was something that was dangerous. She was just wanting to lunge out and latch onto the woman's fingies, fully intent on gripping the blade in her hands and RIPPING the woman's hands and sword away from her.
Of course, she wouldn't succeed at that in the slightest. IF she managed to get a hold of the woman's hands, once those teeth started to try and bite into that skin, and she felt sharp points bite along her face,a sudden heat of blood from the sudden recoil of the attack, which would cause her to SCREECH and reel back, drawing away as she reeled from whatever had happened to cause such a hard injury seemingly out of nowhere!
Having been readied in a defensive posture, Camila was prepared for a potential attack. She wasn't going to be stopped by this... thing. This animal. As such, upon watching her lash out at the shinigami, She ever so slightly lowered her hands, and just barely turned her Asauchi, so that the bat, when lashing out for Camila, would be vulnerable for a quick counterattack. Aiming for the head, which was now within easy reach, Camila went for an attack, though she held back. it was more a deterrent tap on the head than anything else. Nothing serious, but enough to let the animal know that actions like that won't be appreciated, or tolerated again.
Still continuing to hold a defensive stance, Camila took a few steps back, and began intently eyeing the beast. She had no idea what this animal was going to do, and she wasn't very wanting to sit around and find that out, either. As such, she began to focus, and concentrate her reiatsu around her blade. Her intent was to force it around her sword, as to aid her in attacking harder than before. After a second or two, the length of her Asauchi began to faintly glow a deep red, a sign that she had pumped it around her sword. Once this was finished, she continued slowly backing up until she was within proximity of the crying child. If the animal attacked, and she was fast enough to block it, that was her goal here.
Upon reaching the child, Albin began to speak, though his form only half there and intangible. "What exactly are you planning on doing?" He asked, confused as to what the shinigami's intentions were, "You do realize that you're pretty much outclassed by even a feral beast, right? You really don't stand a change here, sweetheart." Out of anger, she turned her head to Albin and began to shout. "For the last time, stop calling me that! You KNOW I hate it, yet you insist on doing so anyway!" The hollow merely smirked, and continued watching the predicament unfold from a distance. He couldn't be hit, nor could he hit, so there was no reason for him to even attempt to interfere.
Camila continued holding on tight to her weapon, still genuinely curious as to what Kritia was planning. If she could plan out a strategy, that is. All she knew was that this child behind her was her utmost priority, and needed to be protected. She couldn't send her to Soul Society with this currently going on, as she didn't want to risk taking an attack from something that could apparently outclass her as much as Albin had said. She decided the best course of action was to wait for an attack by the bat, and then counter as appropriately as she could. Going on an offensive against something she's never seen before, like this, was sure to get her killed.
Kritia noticed that shift. And even mid-attack, the shinigami was so slow that she just moved out of the way of that blade. But that didn't stop her from getting suddenly DICKED by that stupid ability, or what she assumed was a n ability ot Kido! Too stupid to understand what was ACTUALLY happening, Kritia reeled back, before that blade could get a tap on her, hissing out and shaking her head repeatedly, narrowing her eyes as she eyed the shinigami.
The sudden burst of reiatsu was another strangeness. What WAS that? She had no idea, but she didn't care at this damn point. She just had to be faster. She narrowed her eyes, leaping back and latching onto the nearest wall as she slowly began crawling up the side of the building, glaring at the shinigami as she began to rise up. And then she BOLTED, racing along the side of the building for a short burst of speed.
In that moment, she watched the shinigami, waited for them to start turning their head to follow her before suddenly she vanished. Remembering the move that one shinigami had taught her. She would vanish completely from Camilla's sight by the sheer speed she was moving at. And in that moment, she zipped clean past her. But of course, she COULD have just bolted straight at the kid, and killed her on the spot. But alas, she was still a feral being. No. she was focused on her opponent.
With that shunpo, she was immediately beside the woman, just past her shoulder, as she would twist and LUNGE. This time intent on opening up her mouth. The lines on her cheek, and down the center of her chin suddenly shifting, as her face opened up, jaw splitting, and her mouth opening in a horrific maw as Kritia suddenly lunged, intent on locking onto Camilla's shoulder. Only, she didn't know that the armor from before wasn't gone. So her teeth remained retracted. Instead just grabbing that shoulder HARD before she twisted and WRENCHED. Aiming to throw Camilla with all of her speed and strength toward the wall next to them.
OF course she didn't know that it was safe to attack the woman at this point. All she was worried about was ruining this shinigami. In her simple mind, once she got this shinigami off their guard she should be able to at least twist their body until her bones snapped. And that wold be enough for her to deal with this damned woman. At this point, her mind wasn't even focused on the little girl, outside of ignoring the soft, whimpering little sobs as the girl huddled down to the ground and tried to hide from the fight that was going on.
Even after thinking she was prepared for an attack, Camila simply wasn't. She was not anticipating the sudden speed boost from the bat, nor was she even close to fast enough to respond to the sudden blitz she had just received. On the bright side, though, the bat didn't seem to hit too too much harder than she could from just a punch. She took the grip on her shoulder like a champ, and was even thrown against the wall. The impact wasn't nearly as bad as she anticipated, though it still wasn't a fun experience to have to deal with nonetheless. After making contact with the wall, she bounced forward a slight bit, before catching her balance back on her feet.
She ran through the current situation at hand; she'd quite literally never be able to keep up with the bat in terms of speed. That much grew more and more obvious as each second of this fight had ticked on. That being said, though, if what just happened was any precursor to what the bat would be able to do, she'd most certainly be able to deal a much harder hit head on to the animal. Though, while this was the case, it brought about some interesting points in her head.
The bat was indeed faster. This would allow her to dodge a hit quite easily, especially considering Camila wasn't the fastest around. She'd be LUCKY if she managed to land a hit. That being said, one hlit could be debilitating if properly dealt to the creature. At the same time, though, that was if she could ever actually land a hit to begin with. On the contrary, the bat would be able to get in as many hits as she wanted, effectively for free, though those hits were not going to be very strong. Camila was certain she'd be able to push through them.
While this was the case, and the bat could've gotten in these hits due to her incredible speed, she'd eventually tire at some point, though, right? Perhaps at that point, she'd even begin to slow down. From here on, Camila made a mental note of the plan she was going to use; keep blocking the bat's hits as best she could until the bat tired out, and then go in for the strikes. The fight still wasn't hers, but it did bring about a problem; which would outlast the other? Her own ability to take a hit, or the bat's speed?
"HEY!" The shinigami shouted, now making her way over to the crying child, placing herself in between the bat and the young plus, "you still looking to fight? Or are you going to continue running away like some kind of coward!? Come on and fight me!" By this point, her guard was already up, and she was beginning to brace herself for an incoming attack. She needed to make sure that she could deal with the bat, and this was perhaps the best way of being able to do so, at least in her head.
The Bat was frustrated, hissing just a little as she narrowed her eyes at the way they bounced off the walls. She wasn't sure how to do this. Normally she would just lunge in, and tear their throat out. But this was turning out to be more complicated than she thought. And she didn't think much, which was just how complicated this whole situation was becoming. The damage from throwing them didn't seem to hit them at all. BUT she hadnt' gotten hurt this time.
Her brain simply....blepped. The mental equivalent of a little chibi bat looking at a series of monitors, and NOT seeing the 'injury' lights going off in response to the blip. Rather than any sort of cute tactical BUAHAHAHAHA! From her little head demon, instead there was simply the mental equivalent of the caveman spongebob meme as she narrowed her eyes at this shinigami. No injury. She attack. No hurt. Attack fine? She seemed to process this, completely ignoring the taunts from the woman as she stewed in her own uncertainty and stupidity.
However, it was at that time that the beast clan's ears swiveled, and she heard the sniffling from nearby. Those ears rotated, turning in the direction of the hiding child. But this time it didn't even take her an instant to hesitate. FOOD. Suddenly, the battle was forgotten. Camilla's biggest mistake was confusing Kritia enough that she was no longer fully focused on the fight. And so, when that soft whimpering caught her ears, the bat suddenly vanished once again, using another shunpo.
The very next moment, Kritia was upon the little girl, and those long, gangly claws jabbed forward. Before the plus could even manage to cry out that hand pierced into her chest, claws sliding through her ribs and through the lungs. The girl wasn't too tiny, she was a teen really. So instead of just screaming, therewas shock on her face, as confusion overrode the need to cry out. By pure accident, those claws had sliced clean through the small plus's heart, and Kritia promptly lunged as the plus's body began to slump to the ground. And those mandibles would lunge int to begin munching on the plus themselves.
Of course, the girl had been crawling away, so this all happened right before Camila, a good 5 meters away from where she'd been thrown to. Close enough that Kritia's ears remained swiveled in the shinigami's direction. But otherwise, she promtly busied herself with lunging in and promptly beginning to rip the girl's throat and shoulder from the rest of her body in big, bloody chomps. The conflict between her and the shinigami put on hold as she attempted to wolf down as much of the soul as she could like the starving beast that she was.
Camila watched in horror as this whole exchange went down. The plus being torn open, Kritia tearing the now dead soul to shreds, all of it. She felt disgusted just watching it; like she was going to throw up. She wasn't the best with gore, and after having been exposed to it just now, she felt absolutely sick to her stomach. Her personal goal had been failed. Even if she won this fight, this mission would be seen as a failure. To make things worse, Albin couldn't contain himself and was exploding with roaring laughter over it all. She merely tried to drown it all out.
"Ugh, damn it all!" she shouted, charging for the bat with reckless abandon, aiming for a strong overhead swing straight for the beast's back. After what happened? She wasn't tempted to let Kritia walk away from this fight unscathed. Her high spiritual pressure had already damaged the bat once, she could surely damage her on her own. She wasn't going to give up, and was going to continue to press an attack. She needed to avenge that girl's spirit, and was going to stop at nothing to do so.
Should her overhead swing connect, Camila was going to lead that into a flurry of blows, at a whopping 330 RS each. She was going all-out during this fight, now. After having to witness that horrific sight, she had no reason not to give it her all. If the attack hadn't connected, Camila was going to enter another defensive stance, as to not get too reckless from her anger. Yes, she was fuming, but that wasn't going to stop her from doing what she could to win this fight. If all went according to her plan, from here on out, she'd emerge victorious from tiring the bat out over time, though now in an act of revenge instead of a sense of duty compelling her to continue with the fight.
Finally. After so long of having been starved for spiritual food. She at long last was able to have the end of a proper meal. As those chunks of flesh slid down her throat, and she felt her mind starting to clear. There was a detail to things, a clarity in her head that she had never felt before. Her ears tingling as she heard that sudden exhasprated shout. Her eyes darting toward the shinigami as they seemed distraught by the horrific deed.
However, as the shinigami suddenly rushed toward her at that sluggish pace. She felt seomthing different inside of her. Understanding. She began to think, to remember times when she had been similarly injured. The various means she had been forced to use to face them. And the general means with which it usually happened. It wasn't much, but it was enough. When that zanpaku'to was raised (Yes she remembered that's what it was called.) she reached up and grabbed the weapon by the guard and hilt, sharp claws circling that hand.
She clenched just the tiniest bit. And she narrowed her eyes as she felt no poin when her claws began slithering through that soft, vulnerable flesh. Ah....that light. That strange drop in pressure. It had felt.....more volatile. but Lighter. She remembered it happening before. What did it mean? For the first time in her life. She wasn't just confused or perplexed. She was curious. And she gripped that sword, and the hands that were holding it.
Even with the meager strength she had, she was still almost twice as strong as the shinigami. Those eyes narrowing as she slowly stood up to her full height, easily lifting what as essentially the size of a toddler to her. "Hungry." She rasped, her eyes focusing on the Shinigami, who would no doubt be a little freaked by the predicament she was in. Those slitted eyes narrowing.
"You....should...run." She snarled slowly, suddenly THROWING the shinigami down toward the ground, aiming to slam her into the street a good few feet away from her. Now at her full height, at almost ten feet tall, Kritia was massive, towering over the shinigami and staring down at her with narrowed eyes. As if challenging the shinigami to try something. IF she was lucky, she could maybe get this damn shinigami to just run away without having to tear her apart and eat her.
Camila rolled down the street, though not by will. She had been thrown across the town, tumbling unwillingly on the pavement until eventually coming to a halt. She laid flat on the ground for a moment, reeling in the surprisingly high amount of pain she was starting to feel course through her body. After a bit, she forced herself up, and tried to stand to the best of her ability. Wow, that certainly took a lot out of her, huh? She couldn't help but notice, though, those were words that the beast just spoke.
"Wait a minute," she began through the pain, "you can talk?" she slowly began to approach the bat, holding her hands up, as to signify that she didn't mean any threat. This day was continuing to just get weirder and weirder, and she was starting to not be able to keep track of it all. As she approached, she continued slowing down her pace, as to make herself seem like as little of a threat as possible. No tricks, no games, she just wanted to figure out what the hell was actually going on here.
Upon reaching Kritia, she rested her arms slowly. "So, you're able to talk, huh? Honestly, I would've never expected it from a creature like you. What exactly are you, though? I can't say I've ever seen anything like you, and I'm not positive I ever will again, should I pass up this opportunity." Camila took this moment to sheathe her Asauchi. Should they continue to fight, she'd just draw it again, but for now, that wasn't her priority. It was finding out whatever this thing was.
She began to think about the whole situation at hand. A plus just died in front of her by being torn to shreds, this beast looks more humanoid than she had originally anticipated, and now Kritia's talking. The day couldn't've gotten any weirder even if she wanted it to. Even then, though, it wasn't something that hurt to explore. Who knows? She could've made some kind of new acquaintance after this entire thing was all said and done, and she wasn't about to turn that down.
As a precaution, she rested her arm on her sheathed blade, just in case she had to draw it at a moment's notice. Camila was hoping it wouldn't come to that, but there was no telling. She far from had control over the situation, and she didn't like it. She kept her reiatsu focused around her blade, as to be able to make use of it if need be, but she was hoping there'd be no need to actually do so. After all, her goal here was the pursuit of knowledge, not necessarily combat, missions be damned.
It was......unfortunate that the woman had that specific choice in attempts to surrender. Or at least express her desire to be nonviolent. The moment that the woman raised her hands, Kritia vanished in a sudden burst of speed, shunpo'ing infront of the woman, stopping just with her claws pointed at the shinigami's throat, the massive bat crouched to stare the woman in the eyes. The only saving grace was that the shinigami started talking in a way that wasn't a chant.
Her suspicions that this was the beginning of some sort of spell temporarily as she listened to what they had to say. Well this was a first. Not often a shinigami approached her nonviolently. But then again, not many shinigami ever got to hear her talk. Admittedly it never really occurred to her to try before. All the same, she noticed the nervousness of the shinigami, and while they didn't move their hand to their weapon, when they took a step back, Kritia moved her hand with them, making it clear she had no intention of letting them be too far from danger if they made any funny moves.
She snarled just a little, curling her lip at the shinigami, which involved those lips peeling back to show those gristly teeth of hers, pointed and slightly bladelike as she eyed the shinigami. "хулгайн анчин. Reaper, stealing my meal. энэ бол минийх." She growled out in that hissing almost serpentine voice of hers. Her japanese clearly not being top notch, but all the same making it clear in a round about way that her ...unusually horrendous hunting patterns were a product of her circumstance.
Of course Camila would be able to tell that this being is a spiritual one. Not an actual physical human world dweller. So it was possible to deduce that, HOWEVER she'd gotten here, the lack of spiritual animals for her to eat had caused her to start hunting pluses. Not that that would likely matter much to the pluses that she had been hunting on that note. So Camila would find herself at an interesting juncture, as her job to protect Humans would promptly clash with.....well the claws to her throat, no doubt.
But even so. Kritia did seem to have some reasoning skills. Her ability to speak, and ...sortof express herself. Thankfully whatever language she spoke, it followed the same sentence structure as Japanese, so she was not quite as hard to follow, even if a bit of whatever she spoke seemed to slip in here and there. Though it also became abundantly clear that she wasn't really all that interested in answering the questions posed by the shinigami. At least not with the shinigami potentially interfering with her sustaining herself as an immediate problem.
Certainly quite nervous, Camila took a deep breath. With the compromising position she was in, one false move and she'd be dead and gone, there was no doubt about that. It was a fate she certainly wasn't looking to resign herself to, but one she might have to deal with nonetheless if she wasn't careful with her words or actions. First and foremost, though, she needed to do what she felt was right for the betterment of Soul Society. Unfortunately, with being a shinigami, that meant she had to honor the missions she was given, and uphold them to the best of her ability. She didn't want to, by no means, but unfortunately she'd have to fight if the bat wasn't going to leave the area peacefully.
"My position forces my hand in telling you this area isn't safe for you," she said, speaking slowly as to help the both of them with the apparent language barrier between them both, "shinigami are going to come through rather periodically here if problems are seen. I should not support this, but if you find a new area to hunt, we can both go our separate ways. If not, I will be forced to make you leave." As she was speaking, Camila began to relax her reiatsu, and allow it to flow naturally around her once again, as opposed to remaining focused on her blade. She was hoping that if Kritia could sense her reiatsu, she'd realize it's no longer concentrated on her weapon.
The shinigami gave Kritia her best smile, as to once again try and show her that she wasn't looking to actively fight. She merely wanted to talk, but if that was going to get them nowhere, then she might have to resort to some kind of offensive force. She still had no idea if she could stand up to Kritia in the slightest, and wasn't particularly looking to try to do so. Should it come down to it, then yes, she'd fight, but otherwise it was far from a priority of hers.
She lowered her hands as slowly as she could without trying to make her look sneaky. Whether or not Kritia would pick it up in this way was beyond her, as she thought that Camila was was looking to fight when she raised her hands in the air. She sighed, relaxing. "I am probably in no place to ask this," she began, speaking with a somewhat soft voice, "but do you have a name? Is there anything I could call you in order to make our interactions at all smoother?" Camila stared at the beast-clansman with general concern, still not entirely sure if she had the chance to end up losing her life here, but CERTAINLY not wanting to find out.
Kritia furrowed her brows slightly as the shinigami informed her the area wasn't safe. They even talked about them going their separate ways. Only, the woman made one mistake charging her reiatsu to regulate herself back into a more defensive spiritual state when those claws were at her neck. Unaware of what she was doing, all Kritia sensed was the Shinigami infront of her suddenly SPIKING her spiritual pressure, which was not what she wanted to sense.
Almost instantly she lunged forward, shoving her claws in. There was a slice as she aimed to punch her claws in through the woman's throat, and by sheer proximity it was almost certain that her claws would shear in and start opening up the woman's throat. But of course, she was a bit caught off guard, as even then , she had moved a bit too late, and just partially into that throat, the Bat would encounter that damn spiritual pressure. A sudden stabbing sensation.
Her entire body tensed as blood spurted along her arm, in shallow lacerations before she HISSED, ripping her claws back and leaping away from the shinigami in a blur. hopping back only a good foot or so as she screeched loudly in pain, before her clawed hand lashed out, aiming to snag the shinigami by her torso and then throw her across the street in that sudden fit of anger. Any notion of diplomacy, unfortunately, going out the window as the chiropteran promptly readied to rid herself of this little shinigami problem of hers.
The request for her name. If the Shinigami still attempted to ask for it. would be ignored. A hateful look being thrown at the shinigami that had used that same nasty trick on her again. Trickery. DECEITFUL. She should have just ripped her throat out when she had the chance before they had done that stupid little thing. But in her mind she DID make a slight connection. That strange spike in energy. Was that what had turned it off before? She wasn't sure, but her simple animal brain made the idle connection regardless.
