Where do we begin? Appearance is never a fun section to write out, as there are so many little odds and ends to point out that it can become a little ridiculous. But we'll try to make this coherent and straight forward. Like all people in this world, Luke has his own unique appearance that is not shared by anybody else in the world. Every person's appearance is their own, aside from twins, and their looks is one of the things that makes them unique. Luke's own appearance stands out a bit, a stark contrast to what he wants.

Now then, to get started let's talk about the first part people see when they see this young man. Luke's face is one blessed by good genetics and healthy eating habits, a face that is fair and easy to look at, pleasing to the eyes. His has an angular shape to it, his chin ending in a point. His skin is smooth, Caucasian, and luckily isn't blemished by an existing scars on his face, though Luke wouldn't really care if his appearance was damaged somehow. Looks really aren't a big deal to him.

Atop his head rests his messy and barely kept hair. Luke takes some care of his hair, but not much more than simply washing and combing it. His hair, naturally, is rather disorganized and can become rather crazy if allowed to grow too long, so he takes measures to control it by getting his hair cut often enough. His hair grows fast, and is rather thick as well, so it's best to get it trimmed when needed. His hair is dark in color, some people think its black and some people think it's just a very dark shade of brown. Either or, Luke really doesn't care. It's dark hair. Though kept short, his hair does have some pointy bits to it, like most hair does these days.

Talking about his eyes though, let's start on that topic. Eyes are often described as being windows for the soul, a reflection of someone's innermost being. What is it that is reflected out from Luke's eyes? Hope, confidence, passion, commitment and determination. Luke’s eyes reflect the message he wants to deliver. He normally has ochre, a beautiful shade of brown, eyes that look back at you. When the Bount blood inside him becomes fired up, his brown eyes will become emblazoned amber perfectly displaying the ferocity that hides inside him. His eyes are shaped rather intensely as well, his brow often furrowed to add to his own intense appearance. When in battle and using his reiatsu, his brown eyes almost seem to glow with flickering lights.

When it comes to the emotions his face conveys, the most often is that of disinterest or agitation. More often than not Luke will bare his teeth like an angry hound at whomever it is causing him the discomfort. Luke often conveys emotions of anger and discomfort, a shame really as a face like his should be smiling rather than scowling. He'd have actual luck with women if he smiled more. When he does actually smile though, it's something to behold. His smiles are gentle, innocent, and are a treasure that is rarely shown. When it comes to his ears, he has a very touchy relationship with them. They're round, and stick out a bit, almost like small monkey ears. This, and something else, has often led to Luke being, playfully, called a "monkey" or "monkey boy". He hates it. He hates the name and his stupid ears.

When it comes to the young man's reiatsu it shares the same intensity as the young man's personality and appearance. When he has lost control over his emotions in battle, thus causing his reiatsu to flurry up around him, as if the young man has been ensnared in a flame of some sorts. Making sense with the amount of anger inside of the young man, his reiatsu takes on a teal green color, easily dwarfing out other lights and illuminating the dark. His eyes also share in this lack of control, his irises beginning to glow with the same teal color as his reiatsu. But besides that, there is a small transformation that occurs when Luke fights or uses his reiatsu. See, when engaged in battle or using reiatsu, his pupils will narrow like those of a cats or some kind of predator.

Now let's move down and talk about the other parts of Luke's appearance; his body. The young man stands six feet and an inch tall, a decent height for any young man. Coupled with broad shoulders and a fitting form, Luke is the model for someone looking to develop a body from constant activity. His is one that has been earned through rigorous hours of hard work and training. Physical activity does that to the body, it prepares and grows it. While Luke doesn't generally go to a gym (they're expensive) he's able to get away with maintaining a well made body because of the physical labor he goes at work.

As stated before his shoulders are broad and his chest is thick. Beneath his clothing is a body ripped with muscle, yet not enough to cause him to be needlessly massive. He maintains a slim body, one befitting someone who does a lot of running or swimming. The young man's arms have filled out quite a bit from a combination of his employment in physical labor when it comes to jobs, and working out on his own time. Beneath his shirt, one will get a look at a series of hardened and developed muscles and a flat stomach. Two nipples rest on a rather hairless chest, a darker shade of pink that most normally are.

Speaking about his shirt, what sort of clothing does Luke wear? Generally Luke just wears his work outfit, as he spends as many hours as he can working instead of doing things for himself. As a result, Lukes clothing will often change since his jobs often change as well. But when he does have hours off what sort of clothing does he prefer to wear? Luke, oddly enough, prefers clothing that covers him up. Not like thick and super baggy clothes, but Luke doesn't like having too much exposed skin. He generally goes around in jeans, as well as a one size larger tshirt underneath a dark colored jacket. He dresses rather simply, and even doesn't have that many clothes. He has 2x the number of underwear than his combined total of shirts and pants.

Personality

Dislikes:

• ”Funny” People: There are people in this world who are funny, and then there are those who are just so obnoxiously not funny. Luke hates these people, the ones who do nothing but misquote lines from a comedy, or do some sort of annoying voice to try and be funny.
• Losing: There is nothing more devastating to Luke than losing in a fight. It's more than just a blow to his pride, or a show that his skills were not good enough. Luke’s entire goal is to become stronger so that he can become a hero capable of stopping any evil that might appear. Losing shows him that he’s not reached that point yet.
• Smoking: Not only is it expensive in the long run but it’s absolutely terrible for your health. What’s more, there’s not a lot in the world that smells completely worse than cigarette smoke. Especially when you have heightened senses.
• Aevus: The jackass that initially trained him. Yes, Luke appreciates and owes Aevus for what he’s done for him...but holy shit is that dude a prick. His training method generally involved Luke trying to keep himself from getting slashed or penetrated by flying swords. The dude was a fucking animal and Luke is, like, certain Aevus had a man crush on him. Aevus is a jackass and a bastard and a whole lot of other nasty names, but Luke owes him.
• Jäger: Annoying. Immature. Perverted. Not at all funny, and has a tendency to get Luke into trouble.
• His Mother: So many questions and mixed feelings about this person. Why would a mother abandon her child? Why didn’t she tell Luke that he was a Bount? Luke isn’t sure he hates his mother, but he certainly has a lot of bottled up and unresolved anger towards her. Chances are he’ll hit her when he sees her again.
• Hollows: They’re monsters, what else is there to say? They roam the streets eating people and looking for their next meal. They used to be a legitimate threat for the Bount but now are little more than mere annoyances for him to crush. At least he gets paid to do so.

Likes:

• Going drinking: Luke likes to drink, and he's started to realize he likes social interaction as well. He likes to drink with friends, and to him a casual date would even be getting drunk and doing something fun. He's not an alcoholic though. He drinks, maybe, once a week or so.
• Cooking: Perhaps a surprise to most people who learn about this is that Luke is actually a pretty good cook. Considering the small income he used to have, Luke had to learn how to make the food he is able to afford both taste the best and be worth it. Sure, he's not Gordon Ramsey or anyone like that, but Luke is able to cook up simple meals like tamago-kake-gohan or other simple meals and make them taste delicious. He loves to cook, especially for other people.
• Cardio: His preferred method of working out is to go on runs. Running clears his mind and helps him work off a lot of his stress.
• Cats: While he also likes dogs, Luke's found he prefers the independence of cats. Dogs take too much time and effort and want more attention than Luke can afford to give right now. So he prefers cats.
• Swords: The weapons that he has the most affinity with, Luke enjoys collecting and admiring swords.
• Noodles: Ramen, udon, soba, none of it really matters. Luke loves himself a nice warm bowl of noodle soup.
• Wearing sweaters or jackets: Luke prefers to wear jackets, sweaters, or other long sleeved outfits. Luke isn't that much of a fan showing off too much of his skin, maybe because of his lack of confidence with attracting the opposite sex.
• Bloodborne: While Luke doesn't play a lot of video games, this is one that he really, really, likes. He's bad at it...but he has a lot of fun with it.
• Women: Should be no surprise Luke likes women. His game might be trash but he still tries every now and then. He's a bit of a romantic, so when he finds a girl he likes he ends up swooning for them a bit too easily.
• Uzaki Enterprises: While his initial reasons for joining where selfish, since growing and spending more time with the org Luke has grown a fondness for his place of employment.
• His Coworkers: His real friends and the reason he likes UE so much.
• Fighting: Maybe it's because he was a delinquent when he was younger, or because he's a Bount, but Luke actually enjoys fighting. The reasons for a fight and the stakes involved might be dire, but Luke will find a primal enjoyment in the fight.
• Not being poor: Uzaki Enterprises pays well, so Luke is finally out of the poor house.

Flaws:

• ”Virgin”: Luke is not a virgin, lets get that straight despite what Jäger says. The Bount had a very, very, awkward and short relationship with a girl in highschool that he went to prom with and who, after their first night together, told him that she just realized she was gay. Regardless, Luke is very bad with women. He doesn’t handle flirting with confidence, becoming a blushing bumbling mess when a woman shows him some attention. It isn’t something he’s used to at all and it shows. He’s inexperienced as hell. And also lacks any confidence in himself downstairs.
• Guilt ridden: The birth of Luke’s heroic ideals did not come about from him wanting to be a good person. It comes from a deep rooted guilt that weighs heavily on his shoulders. The people that died because he couldn’t do anything to save them, and the people he killed, are always remembered every day. While Luke may smile and tell you “Who needs a reason to be a good person” he’s a hero born from regret and guilt.
• Swears a lot: It is no secret that Luke has a foul mouth. He has no issues with dishing out a swear word even when it is not appropriate. His particularly favorite words, actually, are "shit" and "ass".
• Commitment Issues: If Luke is preoccupied with some sort of project or goal he has a absolute issue with keeping in contact with or keeping up to date with others. He will completely push someone out of his life if he goes long enough without keeping in touch with someone. How he deals with a relationship though...that remains to be seen.
• Easily stressed out: Luke is rather easy to stress out, which makes his personality take a turn for the worse. Despite his race, Luke is not actually used to the spiritual side of existence, or the battles that take place in it, and as a result he can become rather stressed in a fight. Sure, he loves to fight after discovering his powers, and he wants to help people, but Luke is still new to all of this. When backed into a corner, emotionally or in a fight, he has a tendency to panic if he can’t get a grip.
• Tends to use people: By this he means that Luke has a tendency to use people if they will help him get stronger. He’ll forge temporary, easily broken, bonds with the person in question if it helps him in his pursuit of power. And when he gets what he wants from them he moves on, forgetting them and not looking back. Though there are instances were Luke attaches to someone for more reasons than beyond getting power. But, in the end, Luke’s goal is to become strong enough to make amends for his sins...not have a happy ending.
• Lactose Intolerant: If you give this boy milk, or anything dairy, he is going to spend at a minimum of an hour in the bathroom shitting his insides out. Do not do it. DO NOT DO IT.
• Identity Crisis: Luke isn’t really sure what world he belongs in. Is he human or is he a Bount? On one hand, Luke has accepted that he is not truly human. Yet, on the other, he doesn’t want to fully accept that he is a Bount and the responsibilities, and consequences, with being one. He’s afraid of becoming a monster, something that preys upon other people, and therefore has trouble accepting that he is a Bount.

Habits:

• Training: As someone who loves fighting, and whose job is to literally fight, Luke spends an abnormal amount of training to strength his physical body and spiritual abilities. He will push his body to its very limits. Luke realizes that he has a lot he needs to work on and a lot of flaws he needs to iron out so spends a lot of time trying to fix those flaws.
• Grinding his teeth: When frustrated or stressed out, Luke will do one of two things. Yell at or hit the source of his anger, or sit there quietly and grind his teeth in agitation. It's a terrible habit, one that's not good for his teeth, but...hey at least he's not yelling at anyone...right?
• Playing with Gracie: When he’s at home, Luke will spend some time playing with his cat Gracie. While he likes dogs, he prefers cats because of how independent they can be. He loves his cat, but it glad he doesn’t need to be with her 24/7.
• Going quiet: This is generally because Luke will start talking to his Dolls. Because they are mental conversations, to others it simply looks like Luke has zoned out and isn’t listening to what you are saying. In fairness, he’s probably not listening if he’s busy arguing with Jäger and his dumbfuckery.
• Watching TV: Eh, he likes watching movies. It’s a perfectly normal habit. He’s also started watching a bit of anime recently.
• Going out to eat with coworkers: Something he’s started doing recently and has fallen in love with. Whenever he gets the opportunity he loves asking the coworkers he’s close with to go out and eat and drink with him. One of his favorite japanese traditions honestly.

Fears:

• Snakes: A silly fear, but a fear none the less. Luke is terrified of snakes, which is odd considering how tough he is with other things. No fear of heights, enclosed spaces, the dark, or spiders...you know the common things. But its snakes. He's scared of snakes.
• Becoming a monster: A very close to home fear. He is terrified of the idea of becoming a vampire that prowls the streets searching for his next soul to devour. He doesn't want to become like Zan, the Bount Taka has incarcerated in the furthest depths of her club.
• The Vandenreich: What isn't there to be afraid of? They're a powerful, religious, army of Quincy hellbent on world domination and eradication of all things that they aren't. Especially Bount. Luke's learned what the Vandenreichs done to them. They're his enemies, and his goal is to see them destroyed.
• Springflut: The Doll possess catastrohpic power. One slip up, one mistake, and everything can go horribly wrong. Again. Luke's seen what Springfluts powers can do to the city around them. He's afraid of the Dolls uncontrollable powers.

Goals:

• Aim for the top: Luke is the sort of man who aims to be the very best at what he does. He always aims for greater heights. His current goal is to get as high up in Uzaki Enterprise as he possibly can. He aims to become the strongest fighter in the Human World. He aims to become the best sort of hero that he can be.
• Settle down: An impossible goal for someone with his responsibilities, but Luke still has the dream to find a wife and settle down. Like any human he seeks companionship and love, though he feels that he currently doesn’t deserve anything like that.
• Be a Hero: The fundamental and most important goal for this Bount. Initially a scared, selfish, and hateful man the tragedy of that fight with the Vandenreich Quincy transformed him into a hero. Luke has devoted himself to living his life for other people. Saving and protecting as many as he can. Defeating any spiritual evil that appears in the world. Luke aims to become a hero.
• Defeating the Vandenreich: A group that is nothing but evil. A group that must be destroyed to save the world. A group that aims to destroy the lives of anyone they come across that disagrees with them.
• Fix the Bount: Luke is determined to find a way for the Bount to be able to live without consuming the souls of the living. They deserve the right to live just as everyone else does, after all. If he can figure out a way to stop their curse of immortality then he’ll have done some good for them and the entire world.
• Find his Mother: Luke feels cheated after losing both of his parents. His father died and his mother suddenly vanished. His mother abandoned him. And after years of silence has finally reached out to Luke again with some cryptic letter. Luke simply seeks her out not for some tearful reunion with his mother...but to instead demand that she answer the many, many, questions he has towards her. Does Luke hate his mother? No. He’s very angry with her. She owes him a lot of answers.

Alignment: Chaotic Good

Overall Personality:

Where do we begin with this boy? Basket case is a really applicable term when talking about Luke Clyburn. This young man is one who has been molded and shaped by the circumstances and experiences in his life. Luke is not a stable young man, under any definition. He is a young man who has not had an easy life, but is driven to make his own better.

Once upon a time Luke was a selfish, scared, angry man who wanted nothing to do with others or the Spiritual World. Conditioned by his mother to avoid and fear the things other people saw, Luke grew up feeling distant and different from everyone else. Slowly, over time, he began to become irritated and distasteful towards himself and others. He grew up to be mean and spiteful to others. This was only made worse by the unfortunate death of his father and the abandonment by his mother. Luke became a hateful, spiteful, and terrible man who could barely maintain friendships and relationships.

But now, after moving to Karakura Town and discovering what he truly is and others like him, Luke has changed. While the Bount certainly still has a sharp tongue and snappy temper, he has grown far more relaxed, kind, and compassionate to the others around him. Luke can have a firey temper, but he does what he can to keep it in check nowadays. He’s far more patient with people than he used to be, far more willing to listen to another's problem and do what he can to help, and has found that he rather enjoys hanging out with people. Being surrounded by other people like himself has allowed Luke to come out of his shell. He rather enjoys hanging out with his coworkers, getting drinks and meeting with them outside work.

He's a modern day male tsundere, not admitting to his feelings for other people. For him, actions speak louder than words. While he doesn't really speak much differently to his friends, his actions around them show that he does. Luke is fiercely loyal and protective over people he considers his friends. Risking life and limb for the people he manages to give his heart to, Luke is one of those people who is secretly great to have as a friend. He is honest, outspoken, and not afraid to tell someone what it is they need to hear. He's always ready to help his comrades in need.

He has a tendency to be sarcastic with people as well. Luke doesn’t lie, but he does keep secrets and tell half truths. He means well and is capable of being nice but often ends up being sarcastic, especially so when he gives advice. Luke has a tendency, a curse if you will, of pissing people off or having the opposite intended effect when giving people advice. He’s not the best talker. He has a tendency to be cocky and confident, but will panic or freak out if things don’t go his way or he gets put in a emotional corner. Luke is devoted and protective, and can even be a little childish at times. He’s a rather hard to hate person.

Around girls who have gotten under his skin (in the good way) Luke becomes flustered. He becomes much more interested in who they are, what they're hopes and dreams are, and begins to want to spend more time with them. Luke is interested in women who have aspirations and dreams, determination, commitment and a future they’re working towards. When it comes to dating someone he has rules he’s set for himself. He won’t be with a woman weaker than him, as he’d feel it was a unequal relationship. Luke is, unfortunately, easily smitten. He has a big, weak, heart that can easily be taken advantage of by the wrong kind of woman. But with the woman he loves?

He becomes incredibly devoted, aiming to make her the happiest woman who has ever lived. His own needs aside, he will do whatever he can to make her happy. It's not that he's being manipulated; it's that he's finally found someone to trust again and he never wants to let them go. Being abandoned by the most important woman in his life has, unfortunately, made Luke a little clingy and paranoid. It’s a flaw of his character and upbringing. He is protective...but for good reasons.

Luke is a man with incredible levels of determination and a amazingly hard working attitude. Luke is a man with not much going for him, but a whole lot to prove. As a result, there are few as driven as he is. No matter the cost or what it takes, he will complete any task that is laid out before him, even at the risk of his own death. Even with something as simple as training, Luke does not relent until his body cannot given any more. He's a man with the world against him, so he's got a lot to prove. His commitment to his tasks makes him a wonderful soldier.

Unfortunately though it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. Luke carries more guilt than any one man should ever have to carry. Time and time again Luke has watched as people’s lives have been ruined and lost because he was too weak to do anything. Time after time of watching began to weigh heavily on the man, until finally one certain event finally pushed it to the breaking point. Fighting the Vandenreich woman that night and watching as his Doll Springflut caused a great deal of destruction to Karakura Town and killed who knew how many people affected the Bount.

He refused to kill himself feeling that it would be a waste of the opportunity to redeem himself and decided to walk a heroes path. Devoting himself to others. Using his life for the lives of othes. Sacrificing his well being if it means another can see tomorrow. Fighting those that use their powers for evil wherever they may turn up. Luke has heroic aspirations. He aims to become a superhero who can protect, save, and defeat as many as possible. This is Luke’s primary goal. One of his most defined characteristics.

Luke also has an identity crisis. Raised as a Human and then discovering you’re not one is rather shocking. What makes things better is when you find out that you’re actually a vampire. Luke is just not sure how he’s supposed to feel about that. Luke has been told that he will become a monster that will prowl the streets looking for his next human meal and was shown the absolute worst side of what a Bount can become. This event affected the man and caused Luke to become scared of what he can potentially become. He doesn’t want to become a monster.

Powers

Fighting Style:

Where do we begin with this young man's fighting techniques? Let's begin with the fact that like his personality, his fighting is purely aggressive. Luke is aggressive, pushing himself to his very limits while fighting and attacking his opponent with an unending onslaught of force. Unlike a lot of Bount, and perhaps it will lead to failure, he would much rather fight with his Dolls instead of sitting in the back and commanding them. He doesn't enjoy hiding in the background, he'd much rather fight alongside his partners instead of skulking about in the shadows.

As a result, Luke has opted for a much more aggressive style of fighting. Using his incredible levels of Spiritual Pressure, Luke is able to unleash a multitude of techniques from his arsenal. Ranging from Willpower, to Energy Generate, and even with his Bount techniques, Lukes high amount of Spiritual Pressure allows for him to have many options when fighting. His general style is to overpower his opponent, to push them back and overwhelm them with an excessive amount of force from both him and his Dolls. He combines his own powers with his Dolls, aiming to punish his opponents for making mistakes or getting careless. But what sort of moves does Luke employ when fighting in this state?

Luke is an instinctual fighter, which means that instead of really relying on complex strategies or maneuvers he instead improvises based on the current situation. He doesn't have any formal fighting training, besides some generic street fights he would get into in high school. Most of Lukes potential went into his Spiritual Pressure, meaning some of his other abilities suffered a bit. His Strength isn't as high as it could be, and his Reiatsu Strength is similarly stunted. So, with his other two offensives being so stunted Luke had no other choice but to begin looking into a hit and run style of fighting. He will do what he can to avoid an opponents attacks, and by working together with his Dolls Luke will look for the best and perfect opportunity to land himself a devastating blow upon an opponent.

His speed plays a tremendous part in his fighting style as well. Luke trained himself to be able to move at incredible speeds, but he did so not intending to simply speed blitz his competition. He did so in order to be able to fight longer, and faster, than his opponent. Speed typically ties into ones Stamina, how long someone is able to fight. Most people these days don't invest heavily in the development of their own speed, as they view that the high stamina cost of high speed isn't worth the time to train. But Luke disagrees.

In his eyes, Speed is an absolute priority in a fight. If he's able to push somebody into using their own maximum speed, while he's not only moving faster and not at his own max, he's able to push his opponent into incredibly levels of desperation. They begin to struggle to keep up, tiring themselves much faster than they normally would. And, if Luke needs to, he can absolutely destroy by simply releasing his highest levels of speed. High speed also means Step Techniques start getting a little bit crazy.

Like it was said before, Luke views Speed more as a indication of one's Stamina instead of just movement. So, combining both Speed and Spiritual Pressure makes Luke into a fighter whose goals are not simply just hit and run, but also attrition. Luke aims to thwart his opponent's attempts to harm him, utilizing many evasive maneuvers to avoid being hit by an opponent. With his high Spiritual Pressure, Luke makes some ample use of Cut Back when available, but in battles against Releases he comes up short with that. Dodging is good and all, but this is working under the assumption that Luke is even going to be targeted all that much.

Luke has trained himself to be able to take any sort of punishment he is given, and get right back up. Pain Tolerance and Damage Recovery are his friends, as both of those Skills allow him to keep on fighting even when hurt. Not saying he wants to get hurt, hell his fighting style is devised around dodging, but if he does then he needs a way to get back into the action. He does need to be careful, however, since he is rather squishy at the end of the day. One of his glaring weaknesses, however, is his rather low Instinct. Luke is not a trained fighter, and perhaps it's because of how often he sits in-front of a TV screen, but Luke has not developed a decent level of Instinct yet.

Luke enjoys playing mind games with his opponents, but not really in the way you might be thinking. He plays his mean person card when he fights, insulting and mocking his opponents during the fight to stress and piss them off. It's an effective tactic, as people don't respond well to being constantly insulted and laughed at, especially by someone who is wrecking them. If an opponent messes up, misses, or gets hit by one of his or his Dolls attacks, then Luke will happily make a comment or two about it, all in an attempt to rile his opponent. Doing so will, hopefully, give Luke a longer fight than usual or simply cause them to slip up.

But Speed and Spiritual Pressure are not the only areas that Luke has dedicated his growth to. Being able to not only mentally keep track of his opponents, but also being able to keep up with them using his sixth sense, Energy Sensory. Unlike a lot of fighters, Luke has spent a good portion of his training on increasing his hidden sense, finding it absolutely ridiculous that someone would shirk at their responsibilities to their bodies. During a fight there is little to nothing more important than being able to keep track of your enemy, outside of being able to dodge everything they throw at you. And as a result, Luke has trained both his Energy Sensory in order to best help him and his Dolls keep track on what an opponent is doing.

Doll 1 Appearance and Overall Ability:

When sealed, Jäger takes the form of an empty matchbox, the type that you can hold in the palm of your hand that Luke keeps in his pocket. The matchbox is old, at least 80 years old according to the label on its back. It’s well worn, and totally empty of matches, unsurprisingly. The matchbox is very cold to the touch. When Luke utters the release phrase of “Ziege Dich”, the matchbox crumbles in upon itself, until it becomes a single black speck. In its released form, Jäger actually shifts between a few different appearances, but the one it will first appear as is quite simple: it appears as an exact copy of Luke’s shadow, and lies down exactly over his shadow, moving as he does. When Luke releases Jäger, anyone with energy sensory can tell he is in the process of releasing, but once the process is done nothing will appear instantly. In fact, due to Jäger’s passive ability, there is no indication that Luke’s release succeeded at all.

Jäger has the ability to infect shadows that it touches. As mentioned, it starts by having infected Luke’s shadow, and will infect other shadows that Luke’s shadow then touches. From there, it spreads faster, infecting shadows that those shadows touch as well. This ability doesn’t even require there be light to cast a shadow. If Jäger is released in an entirely dark room, it’ll simply infect the entire room. What does this infection do, however? Two things in fact. The first one is the most important one: From any shadow that it has infected, Jäger can form its hunter form. Its hunter form is vaguely humanoid from the waste up, although lacks facial features. Its upper body is incredibly buff, with spike like ridges running down its back. Its arms are burly, and terminate in a set of claws. However, the lower half of the body remains connected to the shadow that it came from. It can only form its hunter form in one place at once, and while it forms instantly, it takes two full seconds to melt back. When it later reforms, it retains any wounds it suffered in past formation. Wounds seem to matter significantly less to it than they would to a normal humanoid, although if at least 60% of its body is destroyed, it dies.

The second thing that this infection does is cause shadows to ‘bleed’. Shadows infected by Jäger expand, growing outwards in all directions, although they usually retain their basic shape for a fair bit of time. And of course, as the shadows expand, they usually touch other shadows, and infect those as well. Interestingly, however, this means that because of Jäger, shadows can be created even if sunlight would normally prevent them from doing so. Standing in those shadows, or in those areas of shadows, feels cold, and if you look up, the sun will appear to be blocked by a shadow of some kind, preventing sunlight from reaching your position. Stepping out of those shadows makes the sun appear normally again. It's an odd concept, one that makes people rather confused when they step into these shadows.

In its hunter form, Jäger attacks using its claws, which hold a special property. Anything that it cuts, whether or not damage is done, turns into a shadow that is translucent, and semisolid, like a ghost. Reiatsu attacks still affect shadow form objects, but most physical attacks do not. On that same note, shadow form objects cannot physically affect non shadow form things. Interestingly, Jägers claws can still affect shadow objects, and damage them as if the object and the claw were both physical, and yet shadow objects cannot affect Jägers body. Additionally, there is a searing sensation that comes along with the state of being a shadow, which people have described as “taping dry ice to your skin”. This pain is incredibly distracting, and scales rapidly the more of your body is turned into shadow.

Doll 1 Techniques:

• Ungesehen (Unseen) - This is a passive ability, available to Jäger at all times. It suppresses his reiatsu signature, rendering it incapable of being detected by anyone except those who have superior Energy Sensory to his Reiatsu Strength. This alone is potent. However, it also augments his Overall Ability, causing shadow form objects to vanish from energy sensory in the same manner. However, regardless, Jäger is capable of tracking those objects with his own energy sensory.
  
  Drawbacks: Jäger can still be detected by sight when it is in it’s hunter form, regardless of people’s energy sensory. The same holds true for shadow form objects. Additionally, if someone has superior Spiritual Offensive Stat then this ability is also negated. This ability instantly docks 350 reiatsu from Jäger’s pool once he is are released.
• Verbrauchen (Consume) - This technique is a defensive one, one that is activated when someone tries to counter attack Jäger while it’s formed. Jäger surrounds the attack with its reiatsu, and then subsumes it, negating the attack and, if the attack was physical in nature, turning it into a shadow. If the attack was made of reiatsu, then instead of turning it into a shadow, Jäger brings it into it’s own body, and uses it to repair injuries. It can fix minor injuries (short cuts, bruises, minor burns, etc) as long as the absorbed attack possessed at least 250 offensive stat, moderate injuries (lacerations, small holes in body, significant burns, etc.) as long as the absorbed attack possessed at least 450 offensive stat, and major injuries (missing limbs, large holes in body, major burns, etc) as long as the attack possessed at least 600 offensive stat.
  
  Drawback: Jäger can only subsume attacks that have an inferior offensive stat than him. Subsuming costs 200 reiatsu, a rather substantial amount given his reiatsu reserves. It can only be used twice per post, and a total of six times per release. Small reiatsu attacks that possess less than 250 offensive stat do not allow Jäger to fix it’s body. Additionally, Luke’s reiatsu is keyed so that Jäger cannot subsume his reiatsu attacks, meaning that Luke cannot heal Jäger by blasting him, and also meaning that Jäger cannot defend itself if it’s in the blast zone of one of Luke’s attacks.
• Rückzug (Retreat) - This technique allows Jäger greater mobility than before, which is rather impressive. When this technique activates, Jäger instantly dissipates, melding back into the shadow it came from instantly, ignoring the usual fade time, and appears instantly from another location that it has infected. This alone gives Jäger a lot more defensive power than before, as well as a lot more offensive power since it can sneak attack foes in a blink, even if those foes were in the middle of an attack against it. However, the thing that makes this technique truly powerful is that it can be prepared in advance, keyed in order to trigger the second certain conditions are met. To do this, Jäger must pay the reiatsu cost, as well as an additional 100 reiatsu, and set the condition under which the technique will activate. Then, if during the next three posts, that condition comes to pass, then the technique will trigger, and Jäger will be capable of re-positioning.
  
  Drawbacks: This technique costs 150 reiatsu to use, and can only be used once per post. Normal usage of the technique is limited by Jäger’s reaction time. If prepared in advance, Jäger must be capable of anticipating a foes actions. If the condition doesn’t occur in the three post limit, then Jäger loses the reiatsu paid, he doesn’t get any of it back.
• Flankiert (Flanked) - This technique is the greatest tool in Jäger’s arsenal, and one that can end the fight instantly. The premise behind the technique is simple: Jäger the Doll is the infection that spreads to the shadows, not the hunter form that it creates. The hunter form is a representation of it that it creates in order to interact with the outside world. And so, this technique does something simple: it creates another hunter form, spawning from any shadow infected by Jäger. These hunter forms are capable of cooperating terrifyingly well, as they are two parts of the same being. It’s the same thing as utilizing two hands instead of one in order to play the piano: anyone competent can do it without a hint of effort.
  
  Drawbacks: This ability costs 300 to activate, can only be used a total of three times per release, and requires a four post cooldown in-between uses. Hunter forms share cool downs for both Rückzug and Verbrauchen. As long as there is more than one hunter forms at once, any damage inflicted upon one of the bodies that exceeds roughly 40% of the total body will cause that body to dissipate. If there is only one hunter form, it retains normal durability.

Doll 2 Appearance and Overall Ability:

When sealed, Springflut is inconspicuous, appearing to be a black flask that Luke wears on his right hip, in a holster. The flask, if opened, is full of water. The sea inside is from the Atlantic Ocean, where Luke visited as a child with his mother. If the water is poured out, given a few days, it’ll replenish itself. When Luke utters the release phrase, and pours the water out, the flask rapidly empties, and then it itself becomes water. That water then becomes Springflut.

So what should you expect from this doll? Simple. This is the big splash. The “Go Big or Go Extinct” trump card. Even if Feuer is Luke’s signature Doll, even if it’s his scariest, this is his blitzkrieg specialist Doll. Springflut, the Riptide. Springflut is massive, approximately 25 feet in height, but despite that, it’s capable of moving terrifyingly quickly. Its form is surprisingly slender, given its size, but it’s strangely heavy, weighing about 2500 lbs. Springflut has green skin, which is highly difficult to cut through. Despite that, it seems to move effortlessly, and respond to attacks with a grace unbefitting its size. Its body is largely humanoid, although it possesses a tail, fins along its back, a bizarre facial structure, and claws that can slice through steel with shocking ease. The face is strangest: it possesses an asymmetrical amount of eyes. On its left side, it has four eyes, but on the right side, it only has one. The right eye is bigger than the left eyes are.

Springflut’s power is quite simple: its body is constantly covered in water, water that just cascades off of it, coming from some unknown source. It is as if the Doll’s reiatsu transmuted constantly into water, but producing this water doesn’t cost any reiatsu, so that couldn’t be true. Regardless, this water constantly pours off of Springflut, filling any area he’s in steadily. If outside, it still pools on the ground and can threaten to flood areas.

Especially dangerous is the fact that when Springflut moves, he creates water as well. Springflut is constantly followed by a Water Echo, a perfect copy of him made of water. This essentially means that every time he takes a step, he produces his body weight in water, directly behind him. You can see how this can get dangerous really quickly once he starts sprinting across the battlefield. He’ll leave a column of water in his wake, which quickly crumbles and smashes the area. Springflut is capable of using this water in highly offensive ways. First of all, obviously, mass amounts of water carry weight, and can destroy things with worrisome ease, if they slam against it. If Springflut flicks its tail, the Water Echo will follow the movement, and send what is effectively a shockwave of water at the target. This is, of course, in addition to the normal shockwave that would usually occur.

Doll 2 Techniques:

• Atem (Breath) - This technique is a simple one, and one that will be executed almost instantly when Springflut joins a fight in an enclosed environment. The technique creates a water bubble, inside of it breathable air, the outside of it reiatsu infused water, with a tensile strength equal to Springflut’s Reiatsu Strength. Springflut can use this technique on specific people to cause the bubble to form around them. However, this technique isn’t to imprison people: it’s to save them. When the bubble is totally submerged, it filters oxygen from the water around it, and puts it into the bubble, removing carbon dioxide in the process, allowing whoever is inside to breath. Additionally, when submerged, pushing on any wall of the bubble will cause it to float in that direction.
  
  Drawbacks: The tensile strength of the bubble is rather weak, due to Springflut’s poor reiatsu strength, making it a rather terrible defensive technique. It only possesses the ability to float or to produce oxygen while specifically submerged, rendering it useless outside of water. It costs 200 reiatsu to use.
• Welle (Wave) - Despite it’s size and raw power, there is an element of cunning to Springflut, which some people can see in it’s eyes. It isn’t just a dumb bruiser, it has tactical acumen and the abilities to back it up. This ability is used to corner people who think that they can evade Springflut’s assault, and it requires there to be water touching his tail. Utilizing this technique, Springflut can control a large amount of water touching his tail, forming it into an extension of his tail and thus body. This water shimmers green slightly, but otherwise is identical to the rest of the water. He can move this water by moving his tail, and it will stay attached, as if it was solid rather than liquid. It strikes as if it was a physical extension of his own body.
  
  Drawbacks: This ability costs 250 reiatsu to use, and can affect a maximum of 40 cubic volumes of water at once. People with at least 100 energy sensory will notice the water glow slightly, allowing them to realize that it is connected to him, and thus removing the surprise element of this technique. This technique only lasts 5 posts, after which it must be reused. The water, despite being an extension of his body, does not possess a Water Echo of it’s own.
• Absturz (Crash) - Devastation. That is how this technique would be summarized in one word. For an instant, Springflut turns entirely into water, retaining it’s vague shape, but losing it’s solidity, and then moves at 4x speed in a direction of it’s choice. That’s right, this is a step technique, but one where the person using it is a massive wall of water capable of shattering almost anything in it’s path. And, of course, the Water Echo means that it deposits a massive amount of water in it’s path. At any point during this motion, Springflut can become solid again. In fact, it can re-solidify anywhere along the path it just traveled. The water, of course, retains it’s momentum regardless.
  
  Drawbacks: This technique is slower than most step techniques, and costs 3 times as much, 150 reiatsu. It can only be used once a post, and only a total of six times per thread, resetting upon an extended rest. Beyond that, the technique is simply high speed movement, there’s nothing complex about it, and although it can be used offensively, it has no inherent offensive properties.
• Verwüsten (Ravage) - This technique is one that is almost never used by Springflut, and for good reason: using it means destroying most of the surrounding area, and Luke isn’t someone who would ever order that. However, in the unfortunate even that he needs to, Springflut possesses the ability to. Upon the usage of this technique, a giant wave erupts from Springflut, omnidirectional. This wave is a Tsunami in size, possessing the ability to wipe out the entire landscape within half a mile. The wave surges outward at incredibly high speeds, and since it travels such a long distance, escape is not realistic, although not impossible. However, the truly dangerous thing about this technique occurs one post after the technique is used. Springflut has limited control over his water always, but this technique gives him the ability to do something horrific with it. One post after the technique is used, Springflut causes all water that he currently is in contact with, including the Tsunami, to suddenly lash forward, then backwards, relative to him. This is capable of flinging people into walls, or crushing them between walls, or simply causing them to lose their ability to tread water. This process then occurs again, and again, building in speed every time, until after ten repetitions, when realistically, everyone in the area is dead, either from drowning or from impact.
  
  Drawbacks: This technique costs 1000 reiatsu to use, and tires Springflut greatly. It can only be used once per release. The technique does not discriminate from friend and foe, and thus will most likely kill or injure Luke as well. Only Springflut, in the center of the wave, will be unharmed.
  

Doll 3 Appearance and Overall Ability:

When sealed, Windstärke is a silver wristwatch that Luke wears more or less constantly. The wristwatch was a gift to him, his 16th birthday present. The wristwatch tells time meticulously, and Luke has taken care to maintain it throughout the years. The watch shows its age, and it has been estimated to be at least 200 years old, and it’s easy to tell it, due to its rather dated style, and visible clockwork. When Luke utters the release phrase, the hands of the watch spins rapidly, and then the glass of the watch pops open, surging with reiatsu. The watch freezes and shatters, reforming into Windstärke.

Windstärke is a large bird of some sort, although its taxonomy isn’t clearly evident due to it’s unique physiology. It’s about six feet in Windstärketh, with a wingspan of 13 feet in width, and possesses razor sharp claws. Its body is cold to the touch, which makes sense: Windstärke is made out of what appears to be ice. Instead of feathers, it has dark blue crystals that cover its body, and form a strange horn of some sort on the top of its beak. The main structure of its body, however, the skeleton, is made out of something that looks almost metallic. But it is also ice, just ice that has been frozen over and over and over again, until it has become metallic in durability.

Windstärke’s powers obviously revolve around its nature and control over ice. When Windstärke spread’s its wings, arctic winds start to blow from them, rapidly dropping the temperature of anything in the direction that it’s facing. The winds blow with a speed and strength equal to Windstärke’s Reiatsu Strength and are capable of dropping existing temperatures, whatever they currently are, by 75º Celsius per post, although during the first post, the temperature drop is twice as effective, dropping by 150º instead. This frost is special, and any fire within Windstärke’s winds that possesses less offensive stat than Windstärke is frozen solid, and no longer produces heat. Water is the same. Anything frozen solid by Windstärke’s ice is turned black, and gains a special property: it absorbs light that touches it. If someone was surrounded by this black ice, they’d quickly find themselves enveloped in darkness. The ice possesses durability equal to Windstärke’s Reiatsu Strength.

Windstärke can control where its wind blows, and the temperature it drops to. While it initially appears that Windstärke must be facing a target in order to freeze it, in reality, the cold is capable of being emitted from any of Windstärke’s feathers of ice. If these feathers fall off, they are capable of having their cold emissions controlled remotely. Furthermore, the heat absorption is radial, Windstärke isn’t actually required to be facing someone, and he can freeze people sneaking up behind him. He can also choose to only drop temperature to specific levels, if he doesn’t want to kill off everyone in the area of hypothermia too fast. Finally, Windstärke can grant immunity to the effects of his cold to anyone who holds one of his feathers. However, Windstärke is granting this immunity, it isn’t automatic.

Doll Type: Spirited

Doll 3 Techniques:

• Rakete (Missile) - While Windstarke's natural overall ability makes up the bulk of his offensive capabilities, sometimes he needs to add a little oomph. Rakete is a technique that utilizes Windstarkes cryokinesis in a very offensive manner. Using this technique allows Windstarke to fire off six, instantly formed, spikes of black ice. The icicles are generated from concentrations of reiatsu that will appear around Windstarke before being fired. These icicles are fired at a strength equal to his reiatsu strength, and will also explode with that same level of strength when they come into contact with something as well as at 700 speed. But while they are explosive, their shaped tips mean that they possess serious penetrative strength. This means that things hit by the icicles will generally be stabbed through by them before they explode. These iciles are also rather large in relativity to his size.
  
  Drawback: These icicles can only be fired from Windstarke's front, meaning they are safe if they are behind the Doll. This technique costs 225 reiatsu to use. Someone with Energy Sensory can predict this technique before it's used and before the concentrations of reiatsu are visible.
• Dunkelrüstung (Dark Armor) - This is Windstärkes defensive technique, for when things are not going well for him. Using this technique encases Windstärke in a covering of his own ice, covering him a Black Ice armor that protects him from attacks thrown against him. This armor of Black Ice is rather useful for more reasons than just protection, as combatants who try and get too close to Windstärke when he is using this technique will be affected by the Black Ice absorbing the light around them. Speaking of protection though, this technique is actually a very powerful armor. It doesn't just take in the value of the Dolls Reiatsu Strength, but also takes half of the Spiritual Pressure stat and adds that value to Reiatsu Strength to equal the defensive value of the armor.
  
  Drawbacks: So what sort of drawbacks are we gonna see? Well, first of, this Doll is a bird. A bird in armor. See the problem here? While Windstärke can still fly, his speed is reduced by 50% while using this technique and he cannot use Streifen, since why should he be able to move faster when weighed down like that? This technique lasts for three posts, and can't actually be cancelled until the technique has ended. The technique also costs 300 reiatsu to activate, and can only be used three times a release.
• Streifen (Streak) - Similar to Springflut and his Absturz technique, Streifen is Windstärkes own unique Step Technique, though it is different to Absturz. When this technique is used the big bird will accelerate in a forward motion at a multiplied speed of 4x. While slightly faster than Movement, it is nothing that other races can't outpace with their own steps. But what it lacks in tremendous speed it makes up for with its abilities. Using Streifen causes Windstarke to lose his physical form while retaining the shape, rushing forward as a gale of arctic wind at 4x his normal speed. This causes Windstarke to become the very arctic winds he produces with his Overall Ability and still functions the same. When Windstarke comes into contact with something in this form, their temperature will suddenly decrease by 150° Celsius. Windstarke, being wind in this state, doesn't entirely have to worry about colliding with solid objects unless their mass is far greater than his own.
  
  Drawback:Aside from costing 300 reiatsu to use, Streifen cannot be used more than five times a battle, and once a post. It requires a decent rest between fights before it can be used again. Windstarke is only able to retain this wind form for the duration of the step. Using this technique still allows Windstarke to be hit by spiritual based attacks, so long as their offensive stat beats his.
• Schneesturm (Blizzard) - This would be Windstärkes strongest attack, the Big Bang Attack if you will. Springflut has Verwüsten, Jägger has Flankiert, and Windstärke has Schneesturm. Similar to Verwüsten Luke is hesitant to give his partner permission to use this technique, as the amount of damage that can be done to the environment and innocent people can be tremendous. Once Luke has accepted the fact that this must be used, Windstärke will soar into the sky and take position above wherever the fuck he's going to aim it. Opening his wings and aiming down at the earth, Shneesturm creates a localized blizzard that absolutely fucks everything thats within its range of effect. This technique creates a, literally, blinding snowstorm of Black Ice that consumes everything within a thirty meter circle. This snowstorm will freeze everything within its targeted zone, temperatures dropping by 100 degrees Celsius a second. Perhaps the worst part, however, is how "no fun allowed" this technique is. Enemies, people, anyone really who doesn't have one of Windstärkes feathers will suddenly find that their Speed has been reduced by 75%, their bodies being frozen over so fast that they couldn't hope to escape. Step Techniques also have their speed bonuses dropped by 50% (before use, so a Shunpo would be x5 not x10).
  
  Drawback: There are no drawbacks! It is the ultimate technique! Nah, kidding, there are some serious limitations to this technique. First off is the fact that this technique needs preparation time. Windstärke must remain in the air above the targeted zone for a post, not moving and not using any other abilities during the charge time. If the charge is interrupted, he loses 300 reiatsu. Secondly is that this technique can only be used once a thread, and it costs 750 reiatsu to use. This technique will also damage allies unless they have taken care to prevent themselves from being affected by the attack. After use, though, Windstärke becomes inactive for three posts in order to rest after use.

Technique Description and Effects:

This is a movement technique. It's to keep up with things like Shunpo or Sonido. While all races using this have their own variant of a step technique already, this one is pretty much an in-general type of move. It attunes the physical body to the reiatsu in the air, rather than spiritual to spiritual. It is now physical to spiritual. This allows the user to step at 3x speed for the cost of only 25 Reiatsu. This technique does not take up a technique slot.

How to use technique: Focus the body’s energy and release during a step. This technique can be broken off in the middle of its use. Unlike other step techniques, this one can be repeated while in the middle of the previous one, allowing someone to change their movement course in mid movement.

Technique Description and Effects : This technique is based on the ability of various races to create reishi platforms in midair. This Technique is so simple and uncomplicated that even the most simple of brutes and lunatics can perform this ability flawlessly. However as time goes on, this technique however has a very deep history as to how it came to be so widespread, and also a much more progressive means of it's use.

Class 8: The Most simple and fundamental technique. This is simply the formation of platforms under the feet to form an artificial plane off of which to maneuver. This technique uses so little energy that it has almost no cost (25 reiatsu allows 3 steps at learned, 5 steps at profficient, and 7 steps on Mastery at this class). The user can only create horizontal steps exactly the side of the foot, and at this class can only do this thrice per post, either to run along this newmade surface, or to increase or decrease altitude.

Class 7: Advancement. Still ridiculously simple, this level of the technique does take some reiatsu. At 25 Reiatsu cost, the user can create a pair of constantly generating platforms under their feet which lasts the entire post, however at this class the techique is still limited to at least a general downward direction and cannot rise to an angle more than 65 Degrees upward from a flat surface.
This changes at class 6, at which point pannels can be created even at a 90 degree angle. Additionally, the panels can be created at any point in the body allowing one to push off with any limb and even slide along one's back, allowing a powerful boost in mobility. Cost increases to 50 per post.

Technique Description and Effects:
Willpower is a technique that is available to most who dwell within the human world, and has a variety of effects that make it a versatile and useful technique. This technique is one that manifests the willpower of the physical body. It essentially causes spirit and physical body to "become one" and merge their powers. There are two uses of it. The first is a non battle use, and is the main use. The main use is simply to know the technique, which slows the aging process of the body and allows the possessor to live easily as long as a Shinigami or Arrancar. This is a will-based technique, however, and thus, if will vanishes, so does its power to stop the aging, which quickly catches up. Mod Souls and Bounts have a minor version of this part at all times, which allows them to age slowly at all times; humans and Quincy learn this version at Class 1.

Willpower has three stages that are associated with it, as listed below:

[Stage One: Cog]: By giving up 100 Reiatsu, the user pumps an explosive amount of intimidating power out. Anyone of inferior class will immediately be intimidated. This does not mean they won't fight. Those who are weak enough in comparison will feel a huge, exaggerated surge of power that will probably make them surrender. This can also be used on Hollows to actually scare them away instead of having to kill them. This does NOT work on animals! It only works on "intelligent beings." This means unless it has a similar to human intelligence, this wont' work on an animal.

[Stage Two: Pulley]: This causes physical output to increase based on draining spiritual energy. It costs 400 reiatsu. When activated, it increases physical stats by 50%. However, it causes the skin to begin to blister from pumped out Reiatsu. Essentially, skin begins to burn. It's a quick burn. Within 5 posts, burning will start to become quite serious. On top of that, statistic gain is lost by the post, starting after the second post of this being active. After that time, 10% of the gain is lost every post. It can only be restored by sacrificing 150 Reiatsu per 10%.

[Stage Three: Gate]: This has no initial cost. Reiatsu strength and Spiritual pressure (but NOT Reiatsu amount) both double. From there, reiatsu output goes up, meaning that costs are also doubled for everything. On top of that, 100 reiatsu is lost per post until this is deactivated.

Technique Element: Darkness/Shadow

Technique Description and Effects:
This is the staple technique which all Bount develop eventually with age, though of course it takes practice to master. This technique allows Bount to sink into the shadows, and melt into the darkness. As long as there is a shadow that the Bount stands over or in contact with, they can melt their entire body into it. In this way, they can reside within the shadow and watch situations unfold, with only glowing red eyes showing from inside of the shadow. Or, instead, they can disappear completely into the shadow and use it to transport themselves. Bount can travel anywhere within shadows as long as these shadows are connected. So if two shadows are disjointed, Bount cannot travel in between them. This makes this technique most effective at night, especially during a new moon. The class 5 version is the most commonly used, and allows the Bount to sink at half their speed. Class 4 allows full speed sinking. Class 3 allows double speed sinking.

How to use technique:
It takes a simple reiatsu cost each time.

Drawback:
This technique costs reiatsu, but has another drawback. It makes Bount skin extremely sensitive to heat and to light. Therefore, hot things seem hotter, and bright things seem brighter. And, the sun has a harmful effect when this is used. For 24 hours after use of this technique, Bount must avoid sunlight, or their skin will begin to blister and burn. The higher class of technique they used within the last 24 hours, the more they will burn. If the class 3 version was used, the burning may even kill them if they stay in sunlight long enough.

This is a Bount technique which allows the Bount to dissipate into mist. This can be done only upon being struck by a physical attack. One must be impacted by an attack for this to work. Reiatsu based attacks do nothing to stimulate this technique. However, the mist can flow out to become a large mist that covers the area and makes impermeable fog. "So thick you can't cut it with a knife." The Bount can reform at any time. Maximum limit to how long said Bount can be mist is 6 posts. The Bount's body can "partially form" within the mist. While the technique is class 5, the reiatsu cost to form the body inside the mist is class 4 cost. (Dissipating and reforming are both separate class 5 costs.)

This allows them to strengthen their Willpower and rejuvenate their bodies by feeding on the souls of others. This is a technique that all Bount eventually learn to use. Bounts are humans that were plunged into a spirit form. Essentially, they were half killed. Bount are like half human half spirit creatures. Thus, they are not immortals, despite having the power of spirits. As a result, Bount developed a power to sustain immortality for themselves. This allows them to either feed on dead souls to sustain their immortality, or feed on living souls to sustain it for a longer time. This technique also allows Bount to take in spirit particles to heal their injuries. This technique counts as Class 3 for learning purposes, though its various uses vary in Class.

How to use technique:
It is necessary to bite the victim to suck in their soul. If the spirit particle effect is used, simply release Reiatsu and have it suck in spirit particles. The Class of this technique depends on the extent of the usage. Sucking in a dead soul is Class 3. Sucking in a living soul is Class 2. Sucking in weak dead souls (as the majority of Bounts do) is class 6. Weak souls can be a child's soul or a young girl's soul. Healing injuries is where the other classes are used. Healing slashes and whatnot, or injuries less severe than that, is class 4. Healing stabs and impaling is class 3. Healing severed body parts and whatnot is class 2. Regenerating organs (though this does not include the heart or brain, as they cannot be regenerated) is Class 1.

This technique is one that makes use of the body directly, using the user’s spiritual strength to increase the body’s capabilities in specific ways. Like Willpower, this technique comes in stages as well, but is limited to two:

[Stage 1: Push]: This power coats the user in a sort of "Output Aura." It does two things. First, awareness can extend out by two more inches. This means someone will become more aware of an incoming attack two inches of distance from the attack earlier than normal. It means that one can try to use this to predict enemies, though not as successfully as actual prediction or reading. The secondary point expands "damage." Essentially, it bypasses defenses. A human using this is completely immune to cutback effect regardless of state, and this extends to weapon uses too. Hierro is also completely ignored during use of Push. This defense ignoring is only present during physical attacks. Reiatsu-based strikes can still meet Hierro resistance. This lasts for 5 posts, and costs 100 Reiatsu.

[Stage 2: Impact]: This stage can be used only for physical confrontation. When activated, hit strength quadruples. This means that one can activate it while punching an enemy. If the user has 200 strength, that strength will count as 800 during the instance of the punch. This is very physically draining, and quickly exhausts the body's nutrients. It shortens lifespan to use too often, and it weakens stamina very quickly. This lasts for 1 post, and costs 200 Reiatsu.

Technique Description and Effects:
Schiene allows the user to move from one place to another by gathering Reiatsu particles under their feet and connecting it to Reiatsu at a location that the user wishes to go to. The user then rides the invisible path of Reiatsu connected between the two, until they reach their destination. Initially, this technique can only be used to travel in straight lines, allowing the user to move at 6x Speed from the first point to the next. At mastery, this straight-line movement increases to 7x Speed. However, at mastery, another trick becomes available; at this point, a Bount can create curved rails rather than straight lines. While they cannot move at sharp ninety-degree turns, they can gradually curve up to a maximum of that full ninety degrees when traveling from one point to the next. Because curved paths require a little more focus to maneuver along, speed is reduced to 5x along these curved paths in exchange for versatility of greater movement range. A straight-line rail costs 50 Reiatsu per use, while a curved rail costs 100 Reiatsu to use.

Finally, this technique is modified further by the True Bount technique Vok Sheit, which gives the user a greater mastery of the manipulation of spiritual particles. This technique, if active while Schiene is being used, increases the movement speed of Schiene by 2x for each different method of movement (8x for non-mastered straight-line, 9x for mastered straight-line, and 7x for curved). Additionally, this technique does not take up a technique slot.

How to use technique:
The user must first create a platform of Reiatsu under their feet and then think of where they want to go, which is where the platform of Reiatsu will connect to. From there, they ride the platform of Reiatsu to its new location.

Drawback:
The drawback to this technique is that the user must stick to the path of reiatsu that they created. They cannot deter from it at all, and at lower levels this leaves them open and their attacks able to be easily tracked since they move in a straight line. As they grow more proficient with this technique, they are harder to track.

The soul. Essentially the core of one's true self. And to manifest its energy is a feat anyone can accomplish. When you gaze at all of the spiritually aware, you see them blasting their spiritual energy around themselves. Sometimes they can flex it and use the force it generates to their advantage. Other times they can create projectiles, or concoct actual physical changes. But this technique is different.

The cost for this is a full 800 reiatsu, but it lasts for 20 posts. As long as it is active, the user's hands gain the power to directly utilize their own reiatsu. How? Anything they touch, should they allow it, including their own body, can be imbued with a flame of their choosing. This fire isn't hot, and does not burn. What it does it enhance offensive and defensive capability. This can be used on techniques, releases, body, attacks, weapons, etc.

As long as that flame coats an object, it is considered "class neutral" and "value neutral." Unless struck by a superior class or 2x offensive stat or more, it will always win in conflict against anything that is without a flame. In other words, say Player A utilizes Chakra on their sword and Player B has some sort of Hierro-like ability. Player A, except with the aforementioned limitations, will always be able to cut clean through that defense and sever it.

If the target is also coated in flames, however, then the neutrality of class and value is lost against that target, and once again it is treated as a clash of offensive power or class, as per normal rules. Therefore, this technique is a must for top level HWD, as it is almost impossible to succeed in combat without it. Just to meet the high tier status quo, this technique is required.

This technique is one of the Bount staples. It is also one of the first learned. It can be used to dominate the mind of a victim or enemy. This is the use of the technique. There are four levels to the technique. They all have different effects.

Class 4 - The Bount can use this to seduce. Any victim inferior by at least two classes is susceptible to this version of the technique. They will feel a compelling attraction and naivety in the face of the Bount, who will therefore be able to order them around, or brainwash them into doing as the Bount desires. They can even be lulled into so full a sense of security or ecstasy that they do not even understand the world around them, and are unaware that the Bount is feeding upon them.

Class 3 - This is an intimidation portion. This version allows the Bount to intimidate anyone who is at least one class under them. Anyone outclassed by the Bount will feel their heart pounding and their adrenaline running. They will feel afraid, and are definitely prone to make mistakes from shaking, shivering, and obviously a lack of oxygen due to the constantly pumping heart. It becomes much harder to breathe, and all will feel nervous because of this technique.

Class 2 - This is an expansion upon seduction. As long as the victim is one class lower than the Bount or more, this can be used. They will without question become the Bount's slave and obey every single order. The way to break this is for them to be snapped out of it by a third party.

Class 1 - This is an expansion upon intimidation. Anyone that this is used on will feel intimidation. If it is equal class, they will feel class 3 effects. If the victim is inferior class, then fear will grip them so much that they will be unable to tap into their own powers with ease, and costs for all techniques and releases will double.

How to use technique:
Make eye contact.

Drawback:
This technique is quite straining on a Bount as well. It costs a great amount of reiatsu, and prolonged or continued use will cause severe fatigue, or major headaches and agony inside of the body.

This is a main feeding technique of the Bount, and is the first that they learn. When they begin to feel the hunger and the thirst, this technique must be used. They can also feed with Immortality Drink, and heal as well. However, Futter is the technique which allows them to feed off of the living for greater power. First of all, the reason that Bount feed in the first place is to survive and maintain their dolls. Bount, if they sink their fangs into the neck of a victim, can use Futter to suck out ALL of the victim's reiatsu. For the duration of the thread, this reiatsu becomes usable by the Bount or by their doll. It is considered "storage reiatsu." Likewise, Bount can use this technique to drain victims of their blood. If a victim is drained of their blood after use of this technique, of course they will die. But the Bount, for every victim they feed upon in a thread, will gain a 20% increase to physical stats. And their doll will gain a 20% increase in reiatsu strength. This is for duration of the thread only.

How to use technique:

Drawback:
This technique costs reiatsu, but also causes deterioration. Basically, it makes the victim even more susceptible to sunlight. If the Bount is bathed in sunlight within 24 hours of use of this technique, the Bount will suffer a heavy burning. Coupled with the burning from the last technique, this can turn a victim to ash. Also, this can be used ONLY on the living. The Immortality Drink must be used on souls. If Futter is used on a dead victim, the Bount will age 40 years physically. And if physically a human would die at the age the Bount reaches, the Bount will die.

Think about it this way. Most any human with spiritual powers should know the four basic techniques of the human world: Willpower, Output, Movement, Energy Generate. Any who fails to know these is simply a low class combatant. To be a true contender, these techniques are necessary.

Well, likewise, knowing Ken is what puts a human world dweller in the upper echelon of the human world's spiritual abilities scale. Let's explain. Martial Discipline refers to a mental or physical discipline, or both. In this case, it means disciplining one's soul. It is tempering the soul to achieve a certain effect. This is where Ken comes in. That's what this technique is. Confused? What this technique does can be located below.

Ken is the next step from Willpower, Output, Movement, and Energy Generate. Ken focuses the user's soul into an aura around their body. What this technique does is utilize the spiritual aura of its master to create a glowing field of energy around the user. The field extends a quarter inch off the skin for every 100 reiatsu strength the user possesses. What this field does is repel incoming attacks by utilizing the current physical strength of the user combined with the current reiatsu strength of the user. That's the strength of the aura. It repels them, but doesn't destroy them. It simply deflects them or blasts them away. Simultaneously, the user produces an intense feeling of intimidation which would cause even the most tempered of warriors to feel extreme fear. Wild animals will flee instantly from this aura. The aura can, if the range of the user is wide enough, actually be directed at and focused straight onto a certain target or group of targets.

Simply activate it at will. The reiatsu cost to activate it is 200 reiatsu per post active. The user must know all four HWD main techniques to learn this one. This is considered an extension of all four.

The aura of intimidation can be resisted completely by the use of an opponent's Ken, regardless of user stats or class. Otherwise, if the opponent does not know Ken, then it can be resisted by those of superior class. This technique can be broken by techniques of superior class, or by opponents of superior class. It is also extremely fatiguing to use, especially in consecutive posts. The user must remain immobile when activating this technique, and cannot use any attacks, other defenses, or other spiritual abilities while Ken is active. Luckily, to those who have mastered the technique, it can be switched on and off in a split second as long as previous conditions are met. The user burns up more stamina in a single post of Ken than if they were going all out with movement the post before. Therefore, knowing and using this technique both require built up stamina.

Although Inner Power falls under the category of an Energy Generate technique, it is more than that. This technique relies on amplifying the very power of Martial Discipline: Ken. For this reason, the user must know Ken in order to learn Energy Generate: Inner Power. This technique is only to be called upon at the end of a battle if the user has no other options. It is a last resort technique that will leave the user completely drained, but in exchange, they are briefly granted immense power.

This technique appears much like Ken. The user flexes their spiritual power to release a layer of reiatsu from their body, extending outward in every direction. However, that extension does not end. It will continue until it forms a 30 foot creature similar to the Susanoo of the Uchiha from Naruto. The appearance of this creature differs from individual to individual. However, it will retain the intimidation effects of Ken. Furthermore, its durability will be determined by the sum of the user’s reiatsu strength, spiritual pressure, and strength, just as Ken is.

While Inner Power is active, the user may no longer activate any more non-release techniques other than step-techniques, which come free of cost. However, they are limited to two step techniques per post. While they cannot cast any more non-release techniques, those that are already active may be renewed by repaying the reiatsu cost. The user’s release is still available to them.

Instead of relying on other abilities, the user may take advantage of Inner Power’s properties. Firstly, the reiatsu armor around them has the same property as Ken. If the user takes the offensive, their physical attacks will strike with a force equal to the sum of all their offensive stats. Furthermore, by paying 100 reiatsu, the user can release a projectile from Inner Power. This projectile may take the form of a shakkah-sized arrow or a ball, and it is fired from Inner Power’s hand. It will also hit with an impact or piercing power equal to the sum of the user’s offensive stats.

Technique Description and Effects (Explain appearance, powers, and effect): An ancient and powerful Energy Generate technique uncovered, Electrocution is a natural force using technique. This EG uses the raw power of electricity as its weapon, ravaging an enemies body as it is released from the hands or fingertips of its user. As the caster is only the conduit for the lightning, the EG does not rely on any of his physical or spiritual capabilities to perform. He simply needs the necessary Reiatsu to use it. Electrocution is a devastating Energy Generate as no force living or dead can withstand the effects of an electric shock. When the lightning strikes the target they will, typically, clench up and become immobilized as the pain of Electrocution courses through their bodies. Those struck by the electric shock are subject to the pain of high powered electricity. As mastery of the technique rises so does the power behind the electricity. Reiatsu Strength is the used Offensive Stat for this technique, but because this technique has definite damage the OS is simply used for clashes.

Class 4: The user cannot fully utilize the power of this technique at this Class. At Class 4 all the user can do is create a quick blast of electricity, a single and quick bolt that does nothing more than quickly immobilize and hurt the enemy. The bolt is quick, moving within the seven meter range of effectiveness in the blink of an eye. The immobilization caused by the bolt is quick fleeting, doing nothing more than stopping the target from performing an action (someone running would fall over). It is essentially the equivalent of someone being shot with a taser.

Class 3: Class 3 users of Electrocution are a force to be feared on the battlefield. As they practice and hone their talents with the technique they soon reach the level where they are no longer limited to a quick spark. Class 3 can release a steady stream of arcing bolts of electricity from their palms or fingertips for approximately seven seconds. While only one target can be struck at this level, the power at this level is much higher than its Class 4 state. Immense pain is inflicted upon the target, causing either intense tension in the body as it freezes up or simply collapsing. While not as lethal as the Class 2 version, this level of power is very useable in the battlefield. Unlike the former level, this one will even leave smoldering , second degree, burns upon the victim's body where the electricity struck. Machinery relying on electric parts are easily and effortlessly disabled by Electrocution at this level. At Class 3 it is entirely capable of killing people if you’re not careful.

Class 2: The most powerful level of this technique and only few have ever achieved. Upon becoming Class 2 users of Electrocution the user can easily gain the advantage on multiple opponents at once. The user can choose to release his technique from one or two hands or if Mastered from their entire bodies, releasing multiple forked arcing bolts of electricity to attack up to three foes at once. As the beams are forked they can jump between enemies, meaning one man can hit three people at once if they are close together. When the Class 2 version is fired, it doesn’t stop until the user either dies or wills it to stop. Multiple, hindering, third degree burns will cover the victim's body, often leaving them a steaming mess. The electrical power this technique is comparable to a lightning bolt, making it absolutely devastating against people. Continued and multiple exposure to this attack can cause someone to have cardiac arrest or completely disintegrate them.

How to use technique (How is it activated?): Using the technique is rather simple. One simply focuses their reiatsu into their hands and imagines lightning. Its a technique that gives hardly any sign of its preparation, making it an extremely useful surprise attack.

Technique Drawbacks (Limitations, repercussions for use, etc) A technique this powerful requires equally powerful drawbacks, and this technique has its own hindering drawbacks that makes someone think twice before using it. As the user is using his own arm(s) as the conduits for the technique, constant exposure to such high amounts of electricity is damaging. While the Class 4 version of this technique is far more lenient than its other versions, it can still cause numbing in the hand using it if used four times within seven posts. The Class 3 version is not so forgiving, however. The technique can be used safely twice before any of the limb damaging effects happen. Burning of the hands and arms is commonly seen after being used twice, as well as numbing of the arm that hinders its ability to be adequately used in combat. The numbness will recover after four posts. The Class 2 version of this technique though is the most damaging. It can only safely be used once, and anymore runs the risk of permanently damaging the user. Continued use of the Class 2 Electrocution would result in sever, third degree, burns across the length of the arm(s) that conduct this technique. While the Class 2 version can safely be used once, it will still result in the casters arm going completely numb and becoming partially paralyzed for four posts.

It has other limitations as well. Electrocution only has an effect range of ten meters, meaning an enemy has to be relatively close for it to even be effective. As this power is using pure electricity, it can be grounded by things that would normally ground electricity. Spiritual steel is able to partially block most of the power behind this attack, effectively halving most of the power but only if the target can block it in time. Both Hierro and Blut provide a natural defense against this technique, but follow Offensive Stat and Class Clash rules.

Technique Description and Effects (Explain appearance, powers, and effect): Who created this technique is unknown, but the origin of its design is the exact opposite of that. This technique’s inspiration came from the signature way that Vlad the Impaler, Voivode of Wallachia, struck fear into the Turks. This technique gives the Bount power over the shadows and darkness at their feet, causing stakes of shadow to erupt from the darkened surfaces to impale any in their way. These spikes will burst out of the darkness at a speed of 600 and power equal to the individual Bount’s Reiatsu Strength. While limited only to shadows and darkness, the Bount is able to form these stakes from any shadow or darkness that is connected to the one they are touching. These spikes can reach out to six meters in length. Those stabbed by these stakes will experience sensations of dread, anxiety, and fear directed towards the Bount.

How to use technique (How is it activated?): Activate

Technique Drawbacks (Limitations, repercussions for use, etc) Drawback time. First off, this technique can only be used when the Bount is making physical contact with a shadow or darkness. While that would lead someone to believe that this technique is invisible at night, the Bount has a effective range of 15 meters all around them. These stakes can only be generated from shadows and darkness, meaning if people can take to the air then they are generally safe. While this technique costs 350 reiatsu to activate, it will remain active for 5 posts. However, while the Bount can create free spikes during these five posts there is a limit to how much they can create. At Learned, the Bount is only able to create 3 a post. At Proficient this number is increased to 7. At Mastered, the Bount can create 15 of these spikes a post. While this technique is active, the Bount will suffer heavy burns if exposed to sunlight. As for the psychological attacks, a 2 in Strength of Will or Lack of Fear or Calm Mind or Illusion Resist will render this effect mute.

By paying 300 reiatsu, the user can imbue a weapon of their choice with a powerful electric current that will shock and numb any individuals it comes into contact with, leaving second degree burns on the point of contact. However, this technique is not that simple. It has a second, more dangerous ability. By paying an additional 50 reiatsu, the user can transfer some electricity into objects or positions the sword comes into contact with. For example, if the user clashes weapons, so long as the weapon that it clashes with does not have more than 2x offensive stat superiority, that weapon can be charged with electricity as well. It will then electrocute all who touch it just as the user’s charged weapon would. The user may also press their weapon to the ground to leave an electric charge on that position.

Now, this is where things get interesting. Any item that the user has charged can be decharged, free of cost. The user simply must will that electricity to leap out of the charged target and return to the user. In doing so, a fast lightning bolt similar to Hado #4: Byakurai will shoot from the target and return to the user’s weapon like a homing missile, piercing through all those that stand in its path. Energy Generate: Current has a duration of 5 posts before the cost must be repaid to maintain this technique.

Technique Description and Effects:
This is the most lethal Bount technique to be used in close quarters combat. It cannot be used on other Bount. One touch to a victim of inferior reiatsu strength. One touch of the palm. If done for a mere instant, the victim's stamina is drained by an amount equivalent to 75% of their total stamina. If for two seconds, all stamina is instantly drained. If for four, all reiatsu is depleted. If for eight seconds, all bodily fluids are depleted to nourish the Bount. The victim is left with a dried husk body that can no longer move, and is dying quickly. They are left in dryness and misery as the Bount's stats double for the next 10 posts.

History:

All stories have a beginning. All lives are a story. From the mightiest warrior to the most pathetic beggar, all lives have a beginning, middle, and an end, just like a tale. Everyone has a story. For most, their story is simple, uninteresting. But there are the individuals who have the most interesting of stories about them. However, whether their story is one that basks in the light or hides in the darkness is something that can only be learnt upon reading. For Luke Clyburn, his is a story that revolves around a young man thrust into a conflict that he never asked for.

When did it begin? Twenty three years ago, in Ohio of the United States of America, there was a man and a woman. Brandon Clyburn and Aliza Becker. A seemingly normal couple who met under the most normal of circumstances. Brandon was charming, funny, and optimistic, and Aliza longed for that man in her life. She had come from Germany, for reasons that she cared not to share with the man trying to court her. Eventually love blossomed between the two, and Brandon asked Eliza to marry him. Soon after the wedding Aliza became pregnant, and nine months later gave birth, something she never thought she'd be able to do. They named the child Luke. Luke Clyburn.

Soon after his birth, Aliza insisted that they leave Ohio, and move to a different country, possible Japan. Brandon was hesitant at first, but after a night of consideration he complied with his wives request. They moved to the Toyama Prefecture, and Brandon was able to find a job at the numerous hydroelectrical facilities. Everything was going rather well. Aliza was able to spend all her time raising Luke, keeping a very close eye on the child.

When he was six was when things began to develop a bit. Returning home from school, Luke saw something on the opposite end of the street from him. It was hard to make out, blurry, and constantly hidden by the passing cars. But the longer he stared at it, the more in focus it began to become. A girl, looking around in panic, seemingly being ignored by every pedestrian that walked by her. He wondered why she was being so ignored, as well as the reason for the chain coming out from her chest. But, Luke was a child and soon his attention was drawn away by his friends pestering him to hurry up.

When home that night he asked his mother about it, and noticed the look she gave him. Luke didn't recognize it at the time, but it was a look like that of sadness. "When you're older you'll understand." She would say, every time something like this came up, "Just forget about it, alright?" Luke wasn't aware his Mother was trying to hide something from him, as no six years old is that smart. So he listened, he forgot. But no matter how much he tried to ignore it, he kept seeing them.

As life continued though the sightings became ever more present. More and more Luke began to see spirits, figuring out for himself that that was what they were. The way they were ignored, appearing lost, the chains expelling from their chest, and their general behavior and attitude clued the young child into what he was seeing. When he was ten though he began to receive a taste for what the spiritual world really was. Hanging out at a playground with his friends, Luke would often see Spirits there the most, most often those of children.

He ignored them, like his mother always told him too, but he always watched them from the corner of his eyes, making sure that they never spotted him. It was one day when talking about an anime series about spinning tops that Luke got his first real taste of the horrors of the spiritual world. A young boy, at least two years younger than him, was wandering around the playground searching for his mother. It could have been sad, but Luke, for the most part, ignored the crying child. However something else noticed the cries and decided to come in for a look.

A monster unlike anything Luke had ever seen before descended from the sky, startling the young man. It came down, snatching the child up in its maw and ripping him apart before the young kid's very eyes. When his friends questioned what was wrong with Luke, the child quickly brushed it off and struggled to ignore the Hollow like his mother told him too. However, the Hollow had noticed his outburst and began to lumber over, standing behind Luke as it watched, waiting for any sign of Luke's abnormality. He did his best to act normal, to ignore the hot and moist breath on his back as he continued talking with his friends about cartoons.

Eventually the Hollow lost interest, deciding to leave and hunt for more prey somewhere else. Once it was gone Luke left, running straight home to tell his Mother and Father what he had seen. Naturally his Father did not believe him. He never did. His Mother was quiet, washing the dishes in silence as Luke explained his story. When he would not be quiet like he was told, Luke was sent to his room. Latter in the evening there was a knock on his door and the irritated child opened it to find his Mother bringing him some dinner.

Eating the noodles and rice, Luke began to feel a bit better. His Mother, with a quiet voice, explained some things to Luke. He needed to stop talking about the things he saw. He needed, he had to, ignore them. She explained that like her, Luke was different. He was special. He wasn't like the others. She wouldn't delve into it anymore than that, giving him a kiss on the forehead to send him off to bed. Luke fell asleep wondering what it was she meant.

He followed her advice up to when he was twelve, when things turned to shit. His parents had begun to argue a lot about something, his Father always calling his Mother a monster. He threatened to leave many times, but Luke knew the family didn't have the money to separate. He spent more time away from the house, hanging out with people or spending his time at the arcade when not at school. Home life had become tense, his Father looking at him with some sort of look that...just did not sit right with the young kid. His Mother, however, continued to tell Luke the same things she had always said.

However, the fighting did end with the death of Luke's father. It wasn't a homicide performed by Luke or his mother, it had been a case where Brandon Clyburn had been in the wrong place and the wrong time. A drunk driver had collided with his car along the drivers side, killing him instantly upon impact. The death of his father had rattled Luke, causing him to become very bitter and angry as he felt cheated. Why did his father have to be taken? Why him? About a year later, when Luke was thirteen, was when his life turned around. Luke awoke one morning to find his mother missing.

Searching the house, calling her job and friends, Luke had no idea where his mother had gone. She had simply vanished. Aliza had not been entirely herself after Brandons death, becoming far more quiet and withdrawn than she had before. Nobody could find her. Friends, family, police, nobody could find Luke's mother. So, inevitably, Luke had to move in with his only other living family. His fathers parents. Maxwell and Loretta Clyburn. Now, who exactly were they? Loretta was a stereotypical grandmother. Sweet, caring, loving, and wanting nothing but the best for her grandson. Maxwell?

"You call this shit meatload, Loretta? I've tasted better meat in 'Nam!"

"God damn it Luke get your homework done! You think I care if it's spring break? Just because the plants are cumming doesn't mean you get to slack!"

"Maybe if Bambi's mother hadn't been runnin around like a dumbass she wouldn't have been shot! Had it coming!"

"You wanna get your shit pushed in boy! You're why I'm pro choice."

"The scariest part about Halloween is that a dick that little is in my gene pool."

Yeah. Luke learned a lot of new words living with his grandfather. And it rubbed off on him. Life went on, more or less, like that for a few years until Luke turned eighteen. And, of course, Maxwell wanted to throw Luke right out on immediately. With no luck with jobs, Luke was turning towards a military career until a package arrived for him. A package that contained a whole lot of money. Money...and a letter. A letter addressed to Luke. From Aliza.

I don't expect you to forgive me. I'm sorry for not being there. I'm sorry for leaving you. I can't even call myself a mother after what I had done. But I need you to know that there was a reason. There is a man in Karakura Town, Japan, who will show you what it means to be my son. You have a choice, Luke. Live a normal life. Or come find me.

The money was to be used to get Luke to Japan and help him settle. Well, at first he was going to say no. But after thinking on it for a night, he packed his bags and left for the airport. He was going to Karakura to figure out why his mother had abandoned him so many years ago.
