-Appearance-
Height/Weight: 5’10”/126 lbs.
Physical Description:
Face Claim: Mei Misaki (Another)
"I'm not scared to be seen, I make no apologies, this is me.~"
Camila is an attractive young woman, appearing to be in her mid to late teens, while actually being a fair bit older. She stands at 5’10”, and weighs in at 126 lbs. Her hair is black, and cut short into a bob. A large portion of it covers her face, a fact in which she doesn’t mind. Her face is smooth, as well as clear. Her skin is in top condition, with no blemishes or scars across her entire body. This was a common trait both in life and death. She's a fairly attractive young woman.
Camila’s eyes are a bright red in color, having a miniscule, practically unnoticeable tint of purple to them. They rest an inch upwards from the middle of her small head, and are fairly average in size. Her mouth is small, and rests about two inches above her chin without any facial expressions. Her nose is small, and fits on her face rather nicely. Her jaw is fairly pointed. Her neck is also fairly thin, as well as being an average size, if not leaning more towards the short side.
Camila doesn’t have very many “assets”, as one may say. In layman’s terms, she’s flatter than a board. She’s not particularly sexually appealing, which is in no way a bad thing. On occasion, she’ll use her childlike face and build to get what she wants. Her arms and legs are fairly thin, and her hips aren’t too well defined in most everything she could wear. In a form-fitting dress, it’s almost completely straight, save for miniscule curves in both front and back.
Depending on the situation, Camila could be seen in a large number of outfits. While she doesn't like to focus on appearance at all, and finds it rather vain, she cannot help but want to wear something for quite a few occasions. During colder days, Camila prefers to stick to a more conservative choice, consisting of mostly sweatpants and a heavy jacket. Alongside this is usually a beanie or a pair of earmuffs, to keep her ears and head warm from the cold outside. Cold weather is not something Camila has grown to like, especially after having to deal with it for as long as she had to. She prefers to dress to where she will never feel the cold during those kinds of days, and will make that quite apparent.
During hotter days, Camila isn't afraid to show a miniscule amount of skin. Her outfits during the summer or any other hot day are mostly the same, consisting of longer skirts, a fairly large tee-shirt, and a small pair of shoes. She may occasionally carry around a bag with her during this type of weather, but it's not necessarily all the time. Only really when she feels it could have a practical use, or when it could be used to spice up a look drastically. Her favorite color being a dark purple, she's a lot less likely to wear this during those times. She's not above wearing a brighter red to possibly pink, though, and can be frequently seen in those colors while in the Human World. On extremely hot days, Camila is likely not to be seen by anyone, usually staying cooped up in pajamas or something of the like.
No matter what she's wearing, which will mostly consist of her Shinigami robes, Camila is always going to have a strap on her left hip while not in a gigai. This strap is used to easily hold onto her Zanpakuto while not released, which is quite frequently. This strap is perfectly sized to Buveur de Sang's sealed form, which takes the shape of a longsword. The strap is usually used, as Buveur de Sang maintains its shape through both Sealed and Shikai. The strap is nonexistent on Camila's normal Human World wear, as she wouldn't have her katana to use to begin with.
Camila’s inner hollow take over most of her negative traits, and as such, is a polar opposite to her. The hollow’s name is Albin, and he stands at a fairly tall 6’3”. His build is quite muscular, though not quite overly “ripped”, but more physically built than the average human. Koben’s appearance is similar to that of a very pale human. His skin is an extreme pale, almost to the point of pure white. His face is that of a normal human man’s face, as is his physical build. His hair is pure white, and stretches down right below his shoulders. He looks as though he’s in his mid 30’s.
Albin is always seen in an outfit similar to that of a noble’s outfit during the renaissance. On his feet, a thick pair of metal greaves, stretching to right below his knees. His pants are leather dress pants, black in color. On his chest, a regal metal breastplate. This breastplate has a red gemstone in the center, similarly to that of the pommel of Camila’s Zanpakuto. The designs on the breastplate are that of regal patterns, and cover the entirety of the plate. Overtop of this plate, he wears an open trench coat made of leather. The length of the coat stretches down to his ankles, and has a divide in the back similarly to the way a fair amount of trench coats do, but also has divides on the left and right sides of his right and left legs, respectively. On his left side is a sheathed longsword, which happens to be Buveur de Sang’s sealed state. On the wrists and shoulders of the coat are metal pauldrons and wrist guards. Underneath the coat sleeves, Albin is wearing set of metal gauntlets.

-Personality-
Dislikes:
"I, hate, everything about you...~"
1. Having to Follow Orders - Camila is a free-spirited woman. She has been since she was a child. She doesn’t take orders from anybody, no exceptions.
2. Too Many Jokes - There’s people out there who make jokes out of every situation. Those kinds of people deserve to be burned. There’s some things that just aren’t funny, and shouldn’t be joked about. If you make jokes about sensitive topics, you’re essentially trash.
3. People Who Rely on Brute Strength; “Hit it until it stops working” - These people have so much wasted potential! They could be spending their time perfecting other things, like spiritual capability, but no, they feel the need to beefcake themselves into oblivion.
4. Hollows - Camila grew up knowing about hollows; the torment they can cause, the destruction they bring with them. This is something she does not want to witness firsthand, but may have to in the future. Little to her knowledge, however, her “Zanpakuto Spirit” is actually a hollow.
5. Albin - He torments her CONSTANTLY. He has since she’s been alive, as she grew to realize later on.
6. Kind People - They tend to annoy her. Granted, she has befriended a few people in the past, this is rare for her to actually do.
7. Belittling others - While she’s not particularly hung up about doing it to others due to the fact that she mostly means it jokingly, she doesn’t like it done to her, or watching it done to others who don’t appreciate it. Talk about a hypocrite.
8. The Vandenreich - The Vandenreich murdered her family. She’s out for blood against this group, and this is something that will never change. Should she get the chance, she’d like to personally execute every last member of the blasted organization.
9. “You’re too weak”/“Stay back, you’ll be safer” - Camila is by no means weak, and she can handle herself quite well, thank you very much. While still learning, the amount that can be done with a longsword is incredible.
10. Ranged Combat - She’s not a ranged fighter. While, not exactly the most aggressive of fighters, she doesn’t like to be outranged by anybody.
Likes:
"...Why, do I, Love you?~"
1. Music - Music has been, and always will be a large part of Camila's life. She loves it, and really couldn't ever go without it.
2. Reading - Camila is an avid reader, and as such, she will gladly spend most of her time reading whatever she can get her hands on.
3. Girls - Camila is a lesbian. As such, she likes to flirt with girls. The female form is truly an example of beauty.
4. Clothing - Camila loves looking at, shopping for, and wearing many different types of clothing. While she tended to wear most of the same things while alive, now she’ll wear just about anything, from modern punk looks, to a Roaring 20’s Flapper dress.
5. Albin - While he’s put her through hell and back, most of which unknowingly, she’s got a lotta love for her inner hollow. After all, without him, she wouldn’t have the powers she does now.
6. Dirty Stuff - While not wanting to admit it, and doing everything in her power to deny it, Camila is a closet pervert. She’ll gladly check people out, granted she can do so unnoticed.
7. Being Dominant and In Charge- Camila is dominant, in every sense of the word. She likes to be in charge. Similarly to a dislike listed, she doesn’t take orders. She loves to give them, though. Perfect captain (and possibly romantic partner, if you’re into that) right here.
8. Gaming - Camila is an avid gamer, her favorite game of all-time being World of Warcraft. Lv 110 Belf Blood DK 955 ilvl, WTS Heroic ToS runs, PST for info.
9. Quiet Time - Though she rarely gets it due to constantly being followed by Albin, she loves having time to herself to meditate.
10. Anime - Camila is a serious otaku. She’s seen every series that’s been streamlined, as well as some that aren’t as well known. For those interested, her first anime was Rosario + Vampire, and it continues to be her favorite, despite it only existing for fanservice purposes.
Flaws:
"Never made it as a wise man, I couldn't cut it as a poor man stealing.~"
1. Addictive Personality - Camila is the kind of girl who knows she cannot go anywhere near drugs. This is due to the fact that if she finds something she likes, she will effectively revolve her life around it, or in this case, afterlife
2. Takes Everything to Heart - She can’t take an insult. She can’t take criticism. She can’t take anything of the like. Any time someone tries to help her in any way, she’ll generally take it in a way that was not meant, and will usually take offense to it. It has caused her to lose a large amount of friends in the past.
3. Self-Destructive Habits - She’s a fairly self-destructive person, even if she doesn’t want to be. While this doesn’t hurt her too much since she’s dead, while alive, Camila did not particularly look after herself much, aside from personal hygiene. Some of these traits may have carried over from her original life.
4. Hollow Mask Over-Usage - Upon gaining access to her mask, Camila is going to view it as that of a Raid Buff - it’s an all-around boost that should be up at all times, if possible. This could land her into situations that could potentially lead to her overexerting herself.
5. All-over-the-place Personality - Camila’s personality is extremely confusing to explain. She has a massive variety of interests and pastimes, making her a fairly confusing person to pin down as a whole. As if on a whim, she could change her personality.
6. Schizophrenia - This is one that she suffered from more in life than in death. Seeing Albin almost everywhere she went was something that she had to put up with while in the Human World. Now, upon death, she's more gotten used to this, as he's taken on a much more dangerous, very real form.
Habits:
"Now I'll relate this a little bit, this happens more than I'd like to admit.~"
1. Singing during a fight - Camila is extremely guilty of this one. During a fight, she tends to sing quite a lot if she starts to get into it. This usually consists of something fairly hard like most variations of metal or punk, but depending on the situation, it could turn to something different like something soft like 70’s dance music.
2. Window shopping - Camila spends a lot of time in the Human World for a Shinigami. She still has not gotten completely used to the transition between the Human World and the Soul Society, and likely won’t. Due to this, she continues to spend her time staring through the windows of various stores, whether she’s on duty or not. If not on duty, she’s usually in a gigai.
3. Shouting - Camila shouts. A lot. There’s very few times when she’s not being loud. Primarily when she’s sleeping. Occasionally, should the situation be in dire need of her to stay silent, she will. But, even then, there’s no guarantee of this being the case, as being loud is something that’s been engraved in her mind since childhood.
Fears:
"On and on, we carry through the fears, disappointed faces of your peers.~"
1. Albin - Camila’s inner hollow is a malevolent being of pure destruction bent on the end of everything. He’s a scary dude, no doubt.
2. The Vandenreich - This group is the reason her father and mother are both nonexistent. She dislikes them with a burning passion, though is absolutely terrified of them. She doesn’t want to die, and fears she may be next.
3. Fighting a battle she can’t come out of - Nobody wants to die. Camila is not an exception. Though, dying in combat is not something she ever wants to go through.. To fall at the hands of another in combat means she got careless. This is not something she wants to happen.
Goals:
"Drag me into sky black lungs, give you hope to rise above, am I what you want or who I had to be?~"
1. To Exterminate the Vandenreich - As stated before, she’s out for blood against every last member. Worst case scenario, end the lives of those that took the lives of her family so long ago.
2. To become a Vizard - After learning that Albin is in fact a hollow and not her Zanpakuto Spirit, a goal of Camila’s is going to be learning to control and dominate her inner hollow. This is a power that could lead her to revenge, and one she’s going to use to her fullest ability.
3. To Find Love - Yes, this one is fairly cliche. Many people are looking for love. But Camila is doing everything in her power to find love. Of course, following a particular set of standards for herself. She’s not going to lower her standards if it means getting with somebody, though. Her standards are fairly strict; they have to be shorter than her, female, and breathing. Extremely tough standards, but hopefully things will work out in her favor someday.
4. Learning How to Dance - This is another somewhat odd one. Though she grew up with a fair amount of influencers keeping her away from most anything that wasn't punk or heavier, Camila has always been fascinated with dancing. It doesn't matter what style, though she prefers partner dances like Cha-Cha or Waltz. She wants to learn any and every style she can, and plans to practice until she can't anymore.
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Overall Personality:
"Because I'm easy come, easy go, a little high, little low.~"
Camila is a fairly carefree spirit. She does what she wants, when she wants, and likely does not prepare for or think about any consequences that could occur based off of her actions and choices. She’s very “live by the seat of her pants”, and openly displays that by doing before thinking. This is a trait that has only grown as time has gone on, and she’s learned more about being a Shinigami, and is likely going to be doing nothing but continuing to accentuate her personality.
While living in the moment, that does not mean she’s completely incapable of planning things out. If the need for it arises, she can plan out a multitude of different things, from a date, to combat strategies. Though the latter of the two isn’t exactly her forte by any means, she’s still fairly adept in the art of war. She’s learned quite a bit from observing various fights, playing multiple turn-based strategies, and running a raiding guild. These are all invaluable to a strategist, as anybody could obviously tell you.
Back to the topic of dates, though, Camila is a helpless romantic. Any time she sees a couple walking around, being happy, a part of her dies inside. She starts to feel jealous, as though that should be her, usually in the guy’s pace. She constantly asks herself what’s wrong with her to the point where she can’t find someone to love and show affection towards. Though, even with this self doubt, she continues to persevere in hopes that one day, she’ll find someone she can call her girlfriend, and hopefully more someday.
Camila will usually put forth a conscious effort to get along with most people she meets. There’s no reason to get on someone’s bad side, unless they’ve wronged you in some way. Purposefully annoying people is extremely rude, and shouldn’t be done by anybody. That’s not a way that anybody should really be treated to begin with, so she does her absolute best to avoid this, as well as preventing others from doing it as well, whether it be to her or someone else. This does drive her up a wall, hence why she actively works to make sure that it does not happen to anyone.
While she may seem extremely nice, sweet, caring, etc. Camila is not opposed to having a negative streak. Especially towards most Quincy. For what she had to live through, the hellish pain of losing her family, they don’t deserve to exist. Though, this isn’t some “they’ve wronged only me, nobody else knows the pain I do” sob story. She knows there’s others out there who have been wronged by this ruthless organization. Camila tends to actively seek these people out, and offer to ally with them to bring down the Vandenreich. That is a long-term goal of hers, and one she will not stop to see accomplished.
Usually when Camila sets her mind to something, she tends to focus on it until she finds something new to set her mind to. She has quite a bit of an addictive personality, and does acknowledge this. Because of this, she cannot go anywhere near any form of drugs, alcohol, etc. She knows that if she started to use these, she likely would never stop until her next death. Something she does not want to happen anytime soon.
Depending on the situation, Camila may develop incredibly violent tendencies. As in, dismember the opponent violent. This is mostly due to her inner hollow. Having had him since the beginning as her spirit, Albin has left quite an imprint on her personality. He’s the reason she’s as rash as she is in most decision-making, and the reason she lives in the moment, as opposed to planning things out. She’s not exactly on the best terms with Albin, but this is not particularly an issue, as this may develop over time.
Don’t get me wrong, she doesn’t hate Albin, as surprising as that may sound. She just tends to disagree with him. On every little thing. She may feel that a calm approach could win a fight, and he may feel that without rushing down the target, attacking restlessly, she’s going to lose the fight and disgrace both herself and him. Albin feels as though he’s in complete control most of the time; a fact Camila is going to later need to beat out of him. That is not a mindset she can afford to let him hold on to.
Aside from Camila, Albin is his own being at this point. Overall, he takes a much more unbiased approach to things, and can get fairly analytical at time. Though, that doesn't mean he's not a violent person. Albin is an incredibly violent spirit, and constantly craving some form of bloodshed. He tends to disagree and bicker with everybody he meets, and is quick to fight should an argument arrive. He is in fact the kind of person to fight someone completely unprovoked. This does include Camila, and, should situation help to aid the situation, is not opposed to turning against her in a fight.
Though, while this may be true, Albin does care more about winning a fight than fighting everybody. 9 times out of 10, he won't turn against Camila and will actively fight alongside her, possibly even going as far as to take orders if they're down in a fight. He does care about his own survival, and, as a kind of forced extension of that, Camila's survival. If she dies, the last of him is effectively gone as well. Hell, if it wasn't for her existing to begin with, the last of Albin would've died quite a few years before she was born. He does recognize this, and does refuse to injure Camila to the point of her not being able to recover. Though, he's not entirely opposed to breaking a bone of hers every now and then. His alignment could be easily compared to that of Chaotic Evil without question.

-Powers-
Fighting Style:
"I choose death before dishonor, I'd rather die than live down on my knees.~"
Camila has a fairly orthodox fighting style. She tends to focus down the target with a sword, and use magic if necessary. There isn’t really anything out of the ordinary, aside from the fact that she’s not alone and does have Albin by her side in a fight. Though they may tend to disagree a ton, they do both strive to win a fight. This much is apparent. Though her approach may seem somewhat one-sided, she does have ways to spice this up.
In her sealed state while within melee distance is when Camila is the most effective. Having never been focused on attacking from afar, she learned to pick up the sword fairly easily. She focuses mostly on well-timed, precise strikes to the opponent’s vitals. Until that opportunity arises, she’ll focus on blocking and parrying attacks until that opportunity reveals itself. The only circumstance in which she’ll retreat from melee is if Albin goes in, as she fears she’ll receive recoil from his attacks.
In her sealed state while at a range, Camila will do one of two things. Firstly, she’ll try to close the gap between her and an opponent. This is to get her into an effective range to beat down the opponent. This is priority number one. Second, she may send Albin in to fight in place of her. This is an effective strategy, especially when she’s looking to throw the opponent off. At this point, she may begin using her limited selection of Bakudo and Kido, as to further throw the opponent off.
If she doesn’t have the option to close the gap while sealed, either through being locked down from a rage or otherwise, she’ll 9/10 times send Albin in to barrage the opponent while she works out the situation herself. This is not something Albin would be opposed to doing, as fighting is one of his favorite pastimes. If she still cannot close the distance, Albin will stay in combat, continuing the relentless assault he is so good at.
If she manages to keep the opponent in melee distance while sealed, she’ll call Albin in, and the two of them will begin to focus down the target as best as possible. They’ll both make sure to leave absolutely no place for the opponent to escape. Escaping means they’ll need to lock them down again, an effort that will likely prove to be much harder. So, the best option would be to capitalize on the opponent’s lack of running away.
Being disarmed will quite quickly prove to be a rather annoying issue for Camila. Should she lose her blade, effort number one will be to retrieve it. She’ll send Albin into melee range to keep the opponent busy while she retrieves her weapon. Granted, this isn’t exactly the worst situation for her to be in, it’s still not something she’ll want to do at all. Taking her time here is not an option, and she’ll need to retrieve her blade as soon as possible.
Existing as part of her sealed state, Albin has his own unique fighting style compared to Camila. He’s an extremely rush-down person, and as such will do what he can to constantly assault the opponent in any way he can. He doesn’t like to sit out for very long, and won’t if ordered to. If Camila tells him to stay out of a fight, he’ll leave, but will only remain seated for a short period of time. At that point, he’ll enter the fight whether she wants him to or not. Naturally, if she calls him in, he’ll gladly join in the fight.
Activating Shikai adds a number of both positives and negatives to her fighting style. For one, she no longer has access to Albin as a fighter. This means she cannot use him to attack or stall for her if need be, she has to rely on her own strengths. Though, she does gain the normal bonuses of her Shikai. For one, her fighting style does change due to “absorbing” Albin. The two of them are now one, giving Camila a more aggressive and offensive fighting style. She now also has access to her Shikai techniques, possibly giving her an edge in combat.
In ranged while in Shikai, once again, Camila’s main focus is to get into ranged combat. This takes up much more of a priority as opposed to her Sealed state, as she no longer has Albin to cover for her while she’s at this disadvantage. She’ll begin making use of Sanguine Lance and Bat Scatter, as to keep her alive while she closes the distance. These two techniques work well together for closing the distance between attacks, while also applying pressure to the opponent.
Upon reaching a melee distance, Camila turns more aggressive than her Sealed counterpart, being able to take advantage of her techniques. She’ll begin to swing more recklessly, a trait that continues to grow as her released state grows. Even though she can take advantage of her techniques, doesn’t mean they’re meant to be used this way. Her shikai techniques are fairly situational, with only one of them having a real offensive use, and even being one of her only offensive techs overall. While in melee with Shikai, Camila’s main focus is going to be attacking with melee.
Bankai is another step of its on in Camila’s power set. This allows her to continue playing offensively, while continuing to use her techniques to make her extremely defensive. A literal Blood Death Knight, if you will. Taking a step back from the reckless behavior, she tends to focus more on well-timed strikes, as are needed when you’re wielding a much slower weapon than the previous state. Overall, her main focus is still going to be outlasting the opponent, and this becomes much more apparent in this form.
Upon getting stuck in ranged combat, Camila is more prepared for this as opposed to her Sealed and Shikai states. She now has the capability to stall out the opponent more effectively, being able to take advantage of even more defensive techniques to keep herself alive. While still focusing on getting into Melee distance, Camila can afford to slow down with this approach, and take her time upon reaching this range. This is far from a rush as it usually is.
In Melee range, Camila takes a much more tactful approach to her abilities. Instead of attacking relentlessly, she focuses on much more precise attacks, due to her attacks being slower, as stated above. She’s quicker to parry attacks as compared to her Shikai in the sense that she’s more likely to do so. Whether or not she’s quick enough to do so is up in the air. She’ll damn well try to do so, though.
Camila’s hollow mask adds a fair number of benefits to her stats, allowing her to get more offensive for less of a penalty. Due to this, she’ll revert back to more of a Shikai-esque fighting style, focusing on rushing down instead. Due to the nature of her hollow mask, she once again starts to take on a personality more akin to Albin, as she’s taking from his power more so than normal. Her movements and attack begin to become more sporadic over time, lessening the predictability in her attacks, though not by too much to the point where it’s significant. She also takes on a more aggressive approach, focusing on relentless attacks.
While in melee range with her mask on, Camila's main focus is to excessively barrage the target with her newly gained physical and spiritual boosts. Capitalizing on this advantage as best as she can is a main priority for the Vizard, as it'll likely be what leads her to victory in the end. If not, and the possibility is available, Camila will consider going into resurrection as a last resort. Though, this choice is only made when she has no other options, as she doesn't like using this form very often.
While stuck at a distance with her mask on, Camila will do everything in her power to close the distance as quickly as possible. This may be as easy as just one shunpo. If it is, then so be it. If not, then another solution will be coming quickly. As if it wasn't emphasized enough, Camila is not a ranged fighter. While yes, she can fight from a range, it's not her specialty, and she'll likely fall short of what she can do from a distance as compared to her melee capabilities.
If she loses her mask, Camila will do what she can to adapt to the issue, and fight, or don't fight, accordingly. If her mask was the absolute only reason she was surviving in the confrontation, then she'll escape the battle, valuing her life over winning a fight any day. If her mask was just a means to a quicker end, then she'll take a more defensive approach to the fight, continuing to look to stall the opponent out of energy to actually fight to begin with.
Camila’s Resurrection is more or less the same as her hollow mask, to the point where she’s an extremely aggressive ball of aggression. Once again, she’s going to be focusing on rushing down her opponents, doing what she can to make sure they get absolutely no chance to attack. This is a fairly common trait between most of her release states, so it’s not too much of a surprise that she’s taking on this approach considering that Albin is the one actually giving Camila her release states to begin with.
While at a melee distance while in Resurrection, it's going to be fairly hard for anybody Camila is against to deal with, as she gains a monstrous increase to all of her statistics, similarly to how a hollow mask works. Because of this, her speed and strength will be multiplied tremendously, allowing her to pull of feats of both speed and strength that would've originally never have worked with the way she fights.
While at a ranged distance in Resurrection, for once, she may actually stay at a ranged distance. In this form, she gains access to the Vizard Cero, which will likely be devastating due to the boost in stats she gains for just entering this form to begin with. With those boosts, she may finally be able to hold her own in a ranged confrontation. That is, until she begins to run low on Reiatsu, in which case she'll switch up the tactics to move within melee distance and begin beating on the opponent.
Zanpakuto Inner World:
"A whole new world, a new fantastic point of view.~"
Buveur de Sang's inner world takes on that of a ballroom. The room is fairly circular in shape. The ground is a lighter brown in color, with a glossy finish. Along the walls and ceiling are fairly regal patterns, with various shapes consisting of a gold finish everywhere. Hanging from the ceiling are two chandeliers, each effectively covered with glass. There are multiple arches all over the walls, ending in what would normally be exits, with 4 arches per wall. The thing about these exits, though, is that each one leads to the opposite side of the room. If you were to leave through the left, you'll enter that same room through the right side. While this may get extremely confusing for those in the room, it can lead for unique situations considering the hall is effectively infinite in size.
Zanpakutou Appearances:
"Kill the clock inside your head, bring your normalcy to the edge.~"
All of Camila’s weapons, from Sealed, to Shikai, to Bankai, to even her Resurrection take on the appearance of Eastern European Medieval weapons. Her Sealed and Shikai state have her with a One-Handed Longsword, her Bankai and resurrection form with a two-handed, much slower Bastard Sword. Each weapon has its own unique strengths and weaknesses, and as such is used differently.
While Sealed, Camila’s Zanpakuto is nothing special. It’s a simple, one-handed longsword. The blade is roughly 25 inches long. It has an indent in the middle of the weapon, on both sides of the blade. Buveur de Sang has a straight blade while sealed, and comes to a rather defined point on top, curving inwards. The blade is of course double-edged, as we most weapons during that time period.
The guard of the weapon is also fairly normal. It’s of a silver color, and protrudes to form two small “arms”, coming to a ball tip on each end. The guard is about an inch thicker than the blade in total, and is fairly thin overall. It’s more meant for design, as opposed to blocking attack, but is not entirely functionless for blocking attacks.
The grip of Buveur is of a black leather, and shapes itself to fit Camila’s hand rather nicely. Over time, a handprint has been left into the grip, showing this aspect of the grip. The pommel of the weapon is once again, nothing special. It appears as a small metal ball on the end of the grip, acting as a mediocre tool for blunt force. While it may prove useful in some way, Camila tends to go without it.
Upon releasing to Shikai, Buveur de Sang turns to a more specialized form. While it still remains as a one-handed longsword, many changes have been made to the weapon. For one, the blade is now a blood red in color. The edges of the blade are now serrated, as to provide for maximum damage against armor and flesh targets. Attached to each side of the flat of the blade is a small ruby, an oval in shape. The blade no longer has the same indents on the flat.
The rest of the weapon stays more or less the same. The guard still retains its original shape, though has been changed to a blood red in color, similar to the blade. In place of the ball tips, spikes now exist. These are sharpened to a fine point, acting as a possible piercer for a quick bash, and are three inches in length, helping with her Shikai Overall. The grip of the weapon remains the same, though the ball on the pommel is also replaced with a three-inch spike.
Bankai adds an entirely new weapon in place of Buveur de Sang’s Sealed and Shikai appearances; the weapon now becomes a Bastard Sword, requiring two hands to be wielded. The Blade of Gouge de Sang is much larger, standing at 37 feet long, just over three feet in length. The blade resumes its deep red color from Shikai, as well as the serrated edges. The ruby is now affixed more towards the center of the blade, as opposed to being closer to the guard of the weapon.
Gouge de Sang has a much more curved shape to the guard, as opposed to the original straight shape of the original one. Both sides of the guard are now an entire blade, as opposed to only the points of the guard in Shikai being a blade, and now stretch along the entire guard. The blades are each six inches long, and serrated.
The grip of the weapon has changed shape for the most part, now standing at a foot long. The material and color still remain the same, being black leather. The grip is now segmented, however, with a small bump in the grip dividing it at the six inch mark. This is to allow for Camila to grip the upper half and lower half of the sword at the same time, and not have to worry about her hand slipping. Due to the size of the weapon, this form is strictly two-handed. She does not have the strength to wield this massive weapon with only one arm. The pommel of this weapon remains the same, being the blood red, three inch spike it originally was in Shikai.
Zanapkutou Release Names(Include both Shikai and Bankai names, and call out phrases) “Make them Bleed, Buveur de Sang!/ Drain Them of Their Essence and Consume it All, Gouge de Sang!”
Overall Ability:
"Cause this is my wasteland, my only retreat, with Heaven above you there's hell over me.~"
Camila’s overall ability can be summed up as Vampirism. Her abilities focus more on the “immortality” aspect of vampirism, focusing on keeping her alive and fighting as opposed to trying to overpower the opponent in combat. Due to this, her abilities may seem rather lackluster in an offensive situation. That’s because, well, they are. She’s by no means an offensive fighter with her techs, and her techniques and stats reflect that. To win a fight, she more focuses on stalling her opponent out, utilizing the undying nature of a vampire to keep herself strong and fighting.
She can also be comparable to that of a Blood Death Knight. As a tank, she trades attack damage and raw power for survivability. While not particularly useful in a situation where strength and force are required, she can set herself up to be what is essentially a mobile fortress, possibly being used to block off an opponent’s escape, or to stall out a target while backup arrives. Again, her strengths do not lie in her offensive capabilities at all, and focus on draining the essence of the opponent to keep herself strong.
Shikai Overall Ability:
“The secret side of me, I never let you see, I keep it caged but I can’t control it.~”
Camila’s Shikai grants her the blessing, or curse, of Vampirism, depending on how one may look at it. With this, comes with additives to her offensive capability. Her Zanpakuto changes slightly with the release as stated above, and she gains access to a plethora of powerful techniques, suited to her theme and newly-adapted fighting style. With this, though, does add a fair amount of weaknesses. They are listed below.
Vampiric Bloodlust: Upon releasing, Camila’s blade begins to lust for blood. With every time it is “sated”, the bloodlust then grows stronger, and empowers her. Every open wound that Camila leaves on her target strengthens her release techniques, and allows her to use certain release techniques, as described in each technique. The boost to these techniques is marked by “Blood Counters”. For every slash left on the target that A). is larger than 6 inches in width or deeper than 1 inch, and B). able to draw blood, she gains a Blood Counter. These counters cap at 10, and are spent after using her techniques, if she should desire to do so. Some of her techniques require no reiatsu, but do cost blood counters to use. Upon entering Shikai, Camila will start in this release with a certain amount of Blood Counters corresponding to how much Reiatsu she has remaining. For every 10% of her Reiatsu pool she has left unspent, Camila will gain 1 Blood Counter during the initial release. For example, if she had 1000 maximum Reiatsu split between her and Albin while Sealed, if both she and Albin spend nothing before releasing, Camila will enter Shikai with 10 Blood Counters at her disposal. If together they only have 590 out of the original 1000 maximum Reiatsu, Camila will enter shikai with only 5 Blood Counters, because, rounded down, 590 is equal to 50% of her remaining Reiatsu pool. The Blood Counters gained through releasing her Shikai are once per thread, unless a significant rest period is taken. If she were to be forced out of Shikai, or the duration of Shikai were to end naturally, she does not gain any additional Blood Counters, and instead starts with what she had remaining when Shikai ended.
Bankai Overall Ability:
“Step inside, see the devil in I, to many time we’ve let it come to this.~”
Vampiric Bloodbath: Upon entering her Bankai, her ability to gain Blood Counters is further increased. Similarly to her Shikai, upon entering Bankai, Camila gains Blood Counters corresponding to her remaining Reiatsu pool, compared to her maximum pool. Though, this effect gets stronger upon entering Bankai. Instead of being based off of every 10% of her remaining reiatsu, it is instead based off of every 5% of her remaining Reiatsu. 1000/1000 will give her 20 additional Counters, and 590/1000 will give her 10 additional Counters due to rounding down. This is still percentage based, and still rounded down all the time. Though, a few changes to this mechanic are made. In Bankai, her maximum cap of Blood Counters is increased to 20. For Camila to enter Bankai with a full 20 Blood Counters, she needs to have a full 10 Blood Counters in Shikai, as well as at least 50% of her remaining Reiatsu pool available. She can still only gain a maximum of 10 Blood Counters upon entering her Bankai. Similar to Shikai, the extra Blood Counters gained from entering Bankai are once per post, unless a significant rest period is taken. Each wound left on the target now grants 2 Blood Counters, instead of one. Additionally, she can now gain Blood Counters through herself, granted she leaves a wound on herself equal to the size needed normally, and sacrifices 300 Reiatsu. From this, she can gain 1 blood counter. She can only gain a maximum of 2 Blood Counters per post through this way. Open wounds left by the opponent do not count as wounds she can use for Blood Counters on herself, they need to be left by her to count. Once a wound is used for a Blood Counter, it cannot be reused, meaning she needs to open another wound to create another Blood Counter.
Zanpakuto Techniques:
Buveur de Sang Techniques
Technique Name: Sanguine Lance
Technique Description and Effects (Explain appearance, powers, and effect):
Camila focuses her reiatsu into the shape of a spike, with its length being two feet. The spike forms to the left of her, slowly taking on a thick, blood-like appearance, while not actually being made of blood. The lance then fires that same post at a speed of 800 towards a target, in a straight line. Upon impact with a solid force, the lance will implant itself, remaining within the object or person for 2 posts. Upon contact with a person, the lance slowly siphons reiatsu from them, and replenishing Camila’s reiatsu pool in turn. The amount of reiatsu siphoned per lance is equal to 100 reiatsu per post. After two posts have passed, the lance then disintegrates, leaving behind a blood-like liquid on the ground where the lance dissolved. In addition to the normal Reiatsu cost, Camila may spend up to three Blood Counters for an additional cost. For every Blood Counter spent when using this technique, another lance forms near the original for no reiatsu cost, up to a maximum of 4 lances total. The lance made of Reiatsu has an attack power equal to her OS.
Technique Drawbacks (Limitations, repercussions for use, etc):
Costs 150 reiatsu to use. Upon firing, the Sanguine Lance manifests in a physical form. This means it can be interacted with, and in turn, pulled out of the target, stopping the siphon (Though, in turn, if a deep enough wound is left, it can in turn be drawn upon for a Blood Counter.). The lance can only be fired in a straight line, and does not curve at all. The Reiatsu draining effect does not stack upon more than one lance being implanted in the target.
Technique Name: Vampiric Healing
Technique Description and Effects (Explain appearance, powers, and effect):
By taking three seconds to activate this technique, Camila can spend 200 Reiatsu in order to sacrifice all of her current Blood Counters. By an amount of Blood Counters selected by Camila based on the chart below, an effect is activated based on the amount Sacrificed:
1-5 Blood Counters: Camila feels refreshed, giving her a small stamina boost. This is enough of a stamina boost to bypass the stamina drain for this technique. This also closes miniscule wounds, and fixes any small bruising. Wounds that are larger than an inch in length are not fixed.
6-10 Blood Counters: Camila is granted the benefits from sacrificing 1-5 Blood Counters. On top of that, larger wounds are healed, and all bruising is fixed. Wounds that are larger than 5 inches in length are not healed.
11-15 Blood Counters: Camila is granted the benefits of sacrificing 1-10 Blood Counters. On top of that, she's able to repair a fair amount of potentially lethal wounds. All cuts and bruises are healed, and Camila can restore small parts of her limbs (She can restore a lost hand or foot, but not the entire arm or leg).
16-19 Blood Counters: Camila is granted the benefits of sacrificing 1-15 Blood Counters. On top of that, she can restore damage to entire limbs, though only one limb can be healed per use at a time. She also gains 2 points in Poison Resist, but loses them after 1 post. These points are treated as though she had them since the beginning of the encounter, in terms of resisting poison-based effects.
20 Blood Counters: Camila is granted the benefits of sacrificing 1-19 Blood Counters. On top of that, she can restore organ damage. This is limited to organs that will not almost immediately kill her if damaged. If her heart or brain were to take severe hits, these cannot be restored. Though, intestines, lungs, etc. can be restored no problem.
Technique Drawbacks (Limitations, repercussions for use, etc)
This technique is used to heal wounds. It is not meant to restore stamina. It only helps to prevent limbs from being useless through breaks, or to prevent blood loss. Camila will still tire normally. This technique requires at least 1 Blood Counter to activate, and cannot be activated with any less than 1 Blood Counter. Camila must remain stationary during the three seconds this technique requires to activate. If she is hit out of this channeling effect, all Reiatsu and Blood counters spent for activation will not be refunded.
Technique Name: Bat Scatter
Technique Description and Effects (Explain appearance, powers, and effect):
This technique is more of a “counter” in a sense. Camila spreads her physical form to twenty bats, each containing a twentieth of her reiatsu. These bats take a physical form, and can be attacked. Activating this technique costs 1 Blood Counter minimum. These bats can fly anywhere in a 2 feet radius per Blood Counter. Every Extra Blood Counter spent for this technique increases the range of the technique by an additional 2 feet. This technique has no reiatsu cost. The bats spread apart from Camila's physical form at a speed of 600, and move at Camila's normal speed to their destination(s).
Technique Drawbacks (Limitations, repercussions for use, etc)
Since this technique is a counter, it can only be activated in response to an attack, whether it be physical or reiatsu. It cannot be activated any other time. In order to get anywhere, more than one Blood Counter is likely going to need to be spent. Because each Bat is made up of one twentieth of her Reiatsu, if a Bat is hit by an attack and effectively killed, Camila loses one twentieth of her Reiatsu for every bat killed. If more than 5 bats are killed, Camila loses a limb, and begins to bleed as if it was cut off. Limb loss is prioritized with arms first, then legs. Only one limb has the potential to be lost per usage of Bat Scatter. This wound can be healed using Vampiric Healing with 15 Blood Counters, however. Even if Camila has minimal limbs left, as well as Reiatsu, the bats will always separate into 20 separate bats, giving ample targets for the opponent.
Gouge de Sang Techniques
Technique Name: Vampiric Touch
Technique Description and Effects (Explain appearance, powers, and effect):
Through a physical touch, Camila has the ability siphon the life force from the opponent. Upon touching an opponent with an open hand, Camila can spend a number of Blood Counters to siphon Reiatsu from the target. This Reiatsu siphon is based on the number of Blood Counters spent. For every 2 Blood Counters spent, Camila can siphon 300 Reiatsu from the touched opponent. This does not convert to 1 Blood Counter for 150 Reiatsu, and strictly costs Blood Counters in increments of 2. For every Blood Counter spent, she regains a small amount of stamina, inversely equal to the amount of stamina spent for the amount of Reiatsu she siphons (i.e. if she siphons 600 Reiatsu, she'll gain stamina inversely equal to spending 6000 Reiatsu.). Inversely, Camila can spend a selected amount of Reiatsu in order to drain the target, and gain Blood Counters in return. This drain is inversely equal to the gained amount of Reiatsu in the first part of the ability. 600 Reiatsu spent will grant Camila 4 Blood Counters in return. If this effect is used, she will still suffer from stamina drain for spending Reiatsu.
Technique Drawbacks (Limitations, repercussions for use, etc)
This only activates through a physical touch, making it rather hard to activate to begin with. Not only that, in order for the technique to work, Camila needs to have a good grip on the target. This means that this technique does not work from just a finger, she needs to have her whole hand on the target, and gripping rather forcefully. This could lead to some possibly dangerous situations, considering she needs to maintain a hold on them.
Technique Name: Bloodied Fortress
Technique Description and Effects (Explain appearance, powers, and effect):
This technique doesn’t quite work like the name implies. Instead of creating a fortress, she essentially becomes her own fortress. Camila sacrifices all of her remaining Blood Counters, and 1000 Reiatsu if that amount is less than 10 Blood Counters. For the duration, any attack against her, whether physical or reiatsu based, drain the reiatsu of either the attack or user of the attack. If she’s hit with a physical attack, she’ll drain 10 reiatsu from that person per Blood Counter spent originally. If she’s hit with a reiatsu based attack, she’ll drain 20 reiatsu from the attack per Blood Counter spent. This technique works similarly to hierro, though it uses her Spiritual Pressure instead of her Reiatsu Strength, and the “wearing down” effect that Hierro has is also reduced significantly (Instead of 8 posts reducing the armor to 80%, it’s now 2 posts. Instead of 12 posts reducing the armor to 60%, it’s 3 posts. Instead of 16 posts destroying the armor, it’s 4 posts. The amount of attacks required to wear down the armor is now halved, reducing these numbers to a minimum of 1 attack.). The duration of Bloodied Fortress lasts for 1 post per 2 Blood Counters used to activate the technique. If Bloodied Fortress is active, it can be activated again, extending the duration by 1 post per 4 Blood Counters spent towards it, and restores the Hierro-like effect of the armor to the original duration if 10 or more Blood Counters are spent while the effect is active.
Technique Drawbacks (Limitations, repercussions for use, etc)
This technique has an extremely hefty cost, no matter how you go about it. The technique takes a long time to make back the reiatsu cost if you’re stuck spending the 1000, making it virtually useless, aside from the small protection effect that it has. Using Bat Scatter while this armor is active will remove the armor entirely. As soon as the duration of Bloodied Fortress ends, the technique is put onto a 7 post cooldown. It essentially punishes the user for purposefully not maintaining the effect to spend less Blood Counters for a longer duration.
Technique Name: Absolute Bloodshed
Technique Description and Effects (Explain appearance, powers, and effect):
This technique works a bit differently from her others in the sense that it’s not something that’s activated, but instead a passive effect. By automatically draining her of all of her Blood Counters, Camila enters a state of frenzy. She drives her blade into herself, running herself through with her blade. Upon doing this, she has a limited amount of time before passing out. Her stamina is renewed, and she begins to fight as though the fight had just originally begun. She now has a new requirement for gaining Blood Counters, which is that the wounds now have to be 1 foot in length, or greater than 2 inches deep. She has 1 post per 3 Blood Counters in order to do the following; Camila has to then cause enough wounds on the target in order to refund the cost of Blood Counters, incapacitate the target, or kill the target in a DE thread (By this, I mean if she spends 9 Blood Counters, she needs to inflict 5 wounds on the target of the appropriate size, or incapacitate them, or kill them. If she spends 18 Blood counters, she needs to inflict 9 wounds that are deep and large enough, incapacitate them, or kill them). In order to give her the ability to do this, however, she gains 1 point in Strength of Will per 3 Blood Counters spent capping at 4 points, 1 point in Pain Tolerance per 3 Blood Counters spent capping at 4, and 1 point in Bleeding Tolerance per 3 Blood Counters spent capping at 4.
Technique Drawbacks (Limitations, repercussions for use, etc)
This technique has an extremely high cost. A hefty Blood Counter cost, and will ultimately result in her passing out if she cannot accomplish her goal in the end. It’s ridiculously high-risk, and ridiculously high reward. This technique can only be used once per thread. In order for this technique to activate to begin with, she needs to be significantly tired, AND reduced to 25% of her total reiatsu pool or less. This technique will not activate if it is possible for her inner hollow to take over during the thread, as that will take priority.
Mask Appearance:
"As I burn another page, as I look the other way, I still try to find my place.~"
Camila’s Mask takes the form of that of a more evil masquerade mask. The mask is a full-faced mask, divided into two parts based on top and bottom of the mask. The mask contains three primary colors; White on the lower half, Black on the upper half, and Red for the accents. Curving downwards from above the nose in the shape of an upside-down, red “V”. Above this “V”, is a black base with various curved streaks of red decorating the design. The mask appears to be very regal above the nose.
Below the nose, the “hollow” in the term “hollow mask” becomes more apparent. Below that “V”, is a pure white, more violent appearance. The jaw of the mask is similar to that of an average hollow mask, with various spikes for teeth and a fairly large jaw. The chin is sharply spikes downwards. The mask curves around to her ears, and covers them up, as well as most of her face. The lower part of the mask takes on a much more bone-like appearance as opposed to the upper part, which has a more glossy, plastic-like appearance to it.
Ressurection Appearance:
"The darkest of night falls around my soul as the hunter within loses control.~"
Camila's Resurrection begins with the formation of her mask around her face, similarly to how it normally would with her putting the mask on. As soon as the mask begins to form, the skin around her neck slowly starts to fade into a pure white, leaving behind no color whatsoever in her skin. As her skin starts to change color, a hollow hole starts to open itself in her sternum, forming to create a hole of four inches in diameter.
Her arms and stomach start to take on a more malnourished appearance to them, as she starts to get skinnier overall. From the ends of her hands, small claws start to form. From the nails on her feet, form small talons. From her back, sprout large, bat-like wings. The jaw on her hollow mask now opens, the mask becoming part of her face. On the upper jaw of the mask, there are two "fangs" that are about five teeth apart from each other. These fangs are double the length of the normal teeth.
After all of these additions have formed, the black, upper half of her hollow mask shatters, and is replaced with a new, plain, white upper mask. The remains of the black part of the mask then dissolve, similarly to how a hollow mask does when it is destroyed. It begins to crumble away until nothing remains. At this point in time, Camila's Resurrection transformation is complete, and she has become one with her inner hollow.
Ressurection Powers:
Fangs of the Blooddrinker - Camila goes back to her roots, and gains extended use of her fangs. These fangs act similarly to how a Vampire's fangs normally do, with a few minor changes. Upon sinking these fangs into an opponent's neck, she can pay 200 Reiatsu to begin to siphon not Reiatsu, but blood from the victim. Blood is drained at a speed of around 1 US pint per second. This blood leeched increases her fighting stamina, equal to the inverse of spending 200 Reiatsu per US pint. Camila cannot drain more than 1 pint per post through this, but can keep her fangs inside of the opponent, provided she's able to keep them tame long enough to do so.
Superhuman Speed - Vampires have been known in most fiction for being extremely quick, and hard to catch. Upon activating her resurrection, Camila can now move at her top speed 100% of the time, while draining stamina at 10% the speed that it normally would drain stamina for her to be moving that quickly all the time.
Other Techniques:
{Shunpo}
Technique Name: Shunpo (Flash Steps)
Class: 7
Technique Type: Kidō
Technique Element: None
Technique Description and Effects:
A movement technique that allows the user to move faster than the eye can follow. The focal point that determines the basis of this technique is speed. As speed is the main point of the technique, the method is best characterized by how fast one can get from Point A to Point B in the least amount of steps. Training and skill are what determines how fast a user of Shunpo can move. Those of little skill in the technique or those who haven't used it for an extended amount of time would obviously be out of practice, causing those individuals to be considerably slower. This requires the use of more steps to move the same distance and become tired more easily in a shorter amount of time. A single step magnifies speed for that step by ten times. Shunpo uses fifty Reiatsu per step. This one is automatically learned in the academy. All Shinigami know this when created. This technique does not take up a technique slot.
How to use technique:
Focus of Reishi around the feet area and launch off into a single blurring step. It is not unlike teleportation in appearance, but it is simply extremely fast movement. It is often used to gain an edge in a single moment of combat or to dodge incoming attacks.

CHAPTER 0 - PROLOGUE
"I'm not the same as yesterday, it's hard to explain how things have changed.~"
Before we begin the ever-expanding story of Camila Adaronde and her descent into darkness, some background information must be established first. To start, Camila came from an extremely spiritually aware family that prided themselves on this ability. Due to it not being covered in this story because she has yet to meet her “zanpakuto spirit”, let alone inner hollow, it will be stated here. Both of her parents knew each other since childhood, and were inseparable. During a fateful night when they were young adults, they were both attacked by the same arrancar, and in that happening, traces of the arrancar’s reiatsu were left inside of the body of her mother and father.
The arrancar was detained by shinigami, but not without a fight. In one last effort to slay the two, the hollow made one last attempt to end the couple, but was quickly put down after landing an additional attack on both of them, leaving them with even more of his residual reiatsu. This arrancar’s name was Aldin Landry, the same hollow that would later manifest inside of our protagonist.
With both future parents surviving, they later went on to get married, and have two children. Their first child, Camila. Their second, Camila’s younger brother Felix. One of these children would later grow to be Fullbringers, save for Camila. With the scene set, we may now begin the tale of the eldest child in the Adaronde family, Camila.
CHAPTER 1 - HUMBLE BEGINNINGS
"It's a new day, but it all feels old, it's a good life, but that's what I'm told.~"
“C’mon Camila, you’re much better than this than we are!” Felix complained. He stared into the eyes of his older sister, currently trying to read in the living room of their small house. She let out a sigh, and turned her head to face him, clearly annoyed. “I already told you I don’t like doing this,” she grunted. Placing a bookmark into the book she was currently reading, she stood up, once again looking down at the younger boy. “You owe me for this, remember that.”
“Of course!” He said in reply. She turned to walk into her room, which happened to be connected to the room they were in. She opened the door, and threw the book she was currently reading down, picking up another she had next to her bed. Camila tucked it underneath her arm, and exited the room. She began to look for her brother, who was watching her intently from her original seat on the couch. She sighed again. “I’m only going to do this once, so you’d better pay attention.” Felix nodded. Camila held the book up by the spine, keeping it horizontal. From the book, a wave of reiatsu began to condense around it and light up the air in a color of blood red. From the book, formed a sword. The blade was large, and looked to be fairly heavy as well. She gripped the weapon with her free hand, and let it fall to her side.
“Whoa!” Her younger brother shouted, “I could feel that from like, a thousand miles away if I wanted to!” Obviously he was exaggerating, as kids did, she thought to herself. From in the kitchen, Camila heard her mother shout. “Camila Elizabeth Adaronde, what have I told you about using that in the house?” Camila began to form a surprised look on her face. How could she tell what was happening inside? She probably heard her brother’s reaction, she thought to herself. Yeah, that had to be it. “Sorry,” she shouted back to her mother, as she disabled the form of the blade. Immediately the book fell to the ground with a quiet thump. She glared at her little brother. “Sorry! I didn’t mean to get you in trouble,” he said sheepishly, “I just wanted to see if I could do that for myself is all…”
Camila started to feel bad for her brother. He was only nine, after all. He was still young, easily fascinated by anything out of the ordinary. She had been 14 at the time, a good 5 years older than him. During that time, she’s gotten used to the whole “dead people are everywhere” thing. This was something her parents explained to her a long time ago; the existence of shinigami, hollows, how they exist, and even that of Fullbringers. Though most of that never held her interest, she was always fascinated by the Shinigami. Ever since she learned about them; what they’re capable of, she’s wanted to be one. Only one small problem, though; in order for that to happen, from what her parents told her, she needed to die. This was something Camila was not ready for. The next best thing for her was being a Fullbringer, the nature of which her parents did not mention was based from a hollow’s power.
Snapping back into reality, Camila sighed. “It’s alright, it’ll come with time. Mom and Dad say everybody can do it if they want to.” Her brother’s face lit up in excitement. “Then I’m gonna do everything I can in order to learn!” Camila couldn’t help but smile. She was glad to see her brother so enthusiastic about something she tended to hate. She couldn’t stand being a Fullbringer. Hopefully her brother and sister will like it, as they’re likely going to unlock the ability to do these kinds of things as well. “Yeah,” Camila told herself, “hopefully.”
She went into her room, and began to lay down. Upon the quiet around her beginning to form, drowning out outside noise, she heard a familiar voice. “You’ll never make it as a Shinigami,” the voice said, “You’re not cut out for it at all.” She knew that voice. It was a voice that had been tormenting her from a young age. As far back as she could remember, this voice has been with her, making her life a living hell in any way it could. She began to sob upon hearing it’s return. She turned around, and saw the same man she has seen since her childhood.
He was a pale man, standing quite tall for how old he looked. He had to be in what, his 40’s? At least. “You wouldn’t survive a day as a Shini,” he told her, crossing his arms and giving her a condescending smirk. She began to tear up, and formed a fist. Although shorter than him, she was still tall for her age, she she compared rather well. She pulled back her arm, and quickly thrusted it forward, aiming for his stomach. He quickly stepped out of the way, and laughed. “What’re you expecting to do with a weak little punch like that, huh?”
She began to grow angry, and tried to throw another punch. This one was also immediately sidestepped, and he took a step back. “Honey, please,” The man said, pulling his arm back, “This is what a real punch is like!” He quickly swung his arm into her stomach, and Camila began to flinch naturally. Upon “connecting” with her, the man disappeared. Realizing this a bit too late, Camila screamed on instinct, and forced her eyes shut. The man was gone. He hadn’t even touched her, why did she scream? This was a question that needed to go unanswered, as her parents began running into the room.
“Is everything alright?” Camila’s mother asked frantically, checking her all over as to make sure nothing was wrong with her. Her father maintained a severely worried look on his face. “N-Nothing’s wrong,” Camila managed to force out. She was seconds away from breaking down, and clearly showed this. “Are you sure sweetheart? Is there anything we can do to help?” Her mother asked. “I’m sure, I’m fine!” Camila stated rather aggressively. She didn’t like to be treated like a child. She was 15, she was going to be an adult in a few years. Her birthday was in a month, for crying out loud! “Alright dear, I think it’s time for us to leave,” Camila’s father said to her mother, who was currently stressing out over her first-born daughter, “Let’s give her some time to calm down. And, Camila,” her father said, turning to face her, “If you ever need anything, don’t hesitate to let us know.”
A few moments later, after managing to calm herself down, Camila decided to do what she was originally planning, and decided to lay down. She pulled her blanket above herself, and closed her eyes. Hopefully this dream would be different. For as long as she could remember, she’s been having nightmares. Constantly happening every night without missing a beat. And, every night was the same thing. The same man who she had just encountered again today, beating her down physically. She felt so powerless in these dreams, and wished they would stop. Though, for these to stop, that meant telling someone what was going on. She didn’t want to be labelled as crazy. She shaked it off, and drifted off to sleep.
CHAPTER 2 - RESTLESS TORMENT
"I beg to dream and differ from the hollow lies, this is the dawning of the rest of our lives.~"
Camila opened her eyes, and was immediately met with the view of what appeared to be a ballroom. She had not realized that this was a dream, and took a step forward. Upon her foot hitting the ground, she realized her feet made a click, and that she felt taller than normal. She was in heels, and wearing a dress. This was nothing really new for her, because as of recently, she’s been trying on numerous amounts of dresses and heels. After all, her 16th birthday was approaching quickly.
She began to take a few more steps around, before being once again met with a familiar voice. It was in the sound of a laugh, as she began to hear the clicking of shoes against the glossy wooden floor. She quickly turned around, and was met with nothing. Almost immediately, though, The sound began to play from behind her head, like before. He was moving around, and quickly. She turned the rest of her body, as to see if that correlates, and discovered no correlation. She realized that his location was dependent on the direction her eyes were. There was no way she was going to be able to see him, as he was just too damn quick. She closed her eyes, and took a deep breath. Seconds later, she was met with a sharp pain in her back, forcing her forward. She ended up tripping over herself, and falling forward to her hands and knees. She coughed.
The pain she felt was a punch straight to her lower spine. Normally, a punch of that kind of force straight to someone’s spinal cord would be enough to deal some serious damage, and at worst, paralyze them. Though, this wasn’t a normal situation. It had been a dream, unbeknownst to Camila. Though not physically, it had felt like she was just forced to endure through that pain in the real world; as if it had actually happened. She turned her head behind her slowly to the left, and saw the man looming over her. “You’re pathetic,” he said, delivering a sharp kick straight to her gut. Immediately she jumped upwards from her hands and knees, and fell onto her side. Her head slammed against the ground, as well as the entire left side of her body. She was racked with pain.
Turning her head up slowly, tears began to run down her cheek. She began to cry, barely able to take the pain she now had to put up with without crying. Again, this had been a dream, so naturally, she was able to withstand more than she normally would be able to; much more. The man walked slowly in front of her vision, his shoes clicking against the ground the whole way there. The sound echoed through the dance hall. “W-Why?” She asked. She didn’t have much else to say, nor could she really force more out. “Why?” He repeated, “Because this is something I deserve to get to do. My prey escaped from me, and with that took what I held dearest to me; my life. So now, in return, I’m going to take what they hold dearest to them.”
Camila didn’t understand a word of this. Prey? What they hold dearest? Who was they? Who was his prey? This did nothing but confuse Camila, something that showed quite evidently on her face. “Don’t worry, child,” the man said, pulling his foot back, “You’ll learn in due time.” Almost immediately, as if some invisible force was holding it back, the man’s foot shot forward. It appeared as though it was going to easily come in contact with Camila’s face; specifically her nose. His foot seemed to be there instantly, flying at a speed she could barely keep up with, approaching her face, and…
Camila shot up from her bed, completely covered in sweat. She was breathing heavily, and holding herself back from screaming. It had all been a dream, she thought to herself, nothin but a dream. She wiped her forehead, and gently slammed her head against her pillow. Gently turning her head to the right, Camia looked at a digital clock next to her bed. 1:19 AM. Damn, she thought to herself, it’s way too early for this. She sighed to herself, and started to drift back to sleep.
CHAPTER 3 - THE DESCENT DOWNHILL
"Dynasty decapitated, you just might see a ghost tonight.~"
When you have nothing going on during that time, a month can go by extremely quickly. Even if you have things that are happening to keep your life eventful, time will still fly by. That’s just the nature of time, and exactly what happened to Camila during this time. Even though she had to deal with the constant torment she was subjected to, time went by rather quickly. Eventually, the day of her sixteenth birthday rolled around, and nobody was prepared for the events that were going to unfold.
The day had started off rather normal, with nothing really out of the ordinary. Camila was still being tormented by this seemingly fake man she continued to avoid telling anybody about, Felix was still fascinated by the spiritual world, same old, same old. About halfway through the day, Camila’s family decided to celebrate her birthday, not going overly-extravagant on a sweet 16 party due to the family’s already low income.
---
“...Happy Birthdy to You!” Everybody sang, finishing the well-known song, and clapping afterwards. Camila let a small smile rise to her cheeks. She was glad to be celebrating this day with her family, and didn’t want it any other way. She blew out the small candles that were placed on top of the carrot cake before her; her favorite. Not even a second after, Camila’s father pulled out a small bag from behind him, and handed it to his daughter. “This is just a little something from your mother and I”, he said.
Camila’s smile persisted, as she opened the bag up. Inside, were a few things. On top, was a shirt. The shirt had been black in color, different from her normal color choices, and had a logo on the front for a band she recognized. “We know you’ve been listening to them a lot,” her father said, “So we decided to get you a tee shirt!” Camila’s smile began to grow. She hugged the shirt. “C’mon, keep going!” her mother said, her phone screen still pointed towards her daughter. She began to pull out a book. Just from the font on the cover, she immediately recognized the series. “I wasn’t sure if you’re into those backwards comics,” her mother said, “but I figured you’ll read pretty much anything, so it couldn’t hurt to try it, right?” Little did her mother know, Camila was an avid fan of manga, she just never read them at home, as she never owned any books.
“Mila, Mila!” Her little brother shouted, obviously excited about something. “What is it, Felix?” she said cheerfully, glad to encourage him. “I want to show you something cool!” Her little brother quickly grabbed her hand, and his favorite toy robot. He opened the front door, and sprinted out to the front yard. Upon reaching the large grassy patch in front of their house, Felix set the robot down, and pointed both of his hands towards the robot. He closed his eyes, and focused intently. Camila thought this was rather cute, and did pick up what he wanted to show her, though it didn’t seem to be working at the moment. Suddenly, the boy took multiple steps backward, as if hit by something. Almost immediately, Camila realized what was going on, and dropped her shirt and book. The boy had what appeared to be an arrow of light sticking out of his shoulder. Before she could react, the arrow in his shoulder was then met with a matching one, this time in the young boy’s skull.
“FELIX!!” Camila screamed at the top of her lungs, with tears beginning to stream down her face. As if on queue, Camila’s parents ran outside, and grabbed her by the arms, pulling her inside. They covered her mouth, and pulled them into their room. Confused and concerned for her now executed brother, she tried to break from their grip, though unsuccessful. An unfamiliar voice began to speak, getting louder with each second. “Come out, little hollow, and be purged! It is the wish of His Holiness, and therefore shall be done!” What hollow was the man talking about? Who was His Holiness? Why was her brother just killed? These were all questions Camila had, and all questions that would get answered at a later time.
Camila’s dad began to rummage through drawers, until he found a small knife. It was a steak knife that he had held onto in the case of an intruder. But how was he going to stand up to that man with the bow? Was he insane? He’d be killed immediately! He turned to face Camila, and a tear rolled down his cheek. “Mila, do you trust me?” he asked, his voice starting to crack. Her mother began to cry silently, turning away from Camila. The young girl was confused. What had been going on? “Dad, what hollow was the man talking about? Who’s His Holiness?”
Her dad grabbed her shoulders, and held her face level with his. “Camila, this is not a time for questions! I need you to answer me! Do you trust me?” He began to say softly. As he finished, the door to their bedroom was kicked open. Standing in the entrance, was a man clad in full white. He looked to be wearing some kind of uniform. In his hand, a bow. The bow appeared to be made of the same stuff that her sword was, but instead of red, his was blue. “There you are,” he said, aiming his bow at Camila’s mother, and releasing his backmost hand. Her mother’s body slammed up against the wall, and slumped over.
Acting on impulse, Camila’s father took the knife, and ran it through Camila’s chest. Her eyes widened as immense pain gripped her body. She looked down, and began to cry. Her hearing slowly started to fade. She looked up, and saw the older man who had been tormenting her most of her life, standing behind of her father. He appeared to mouth the words, “Sleep tight”. Faint screaming could be heard from around her. It sounded like a man’s voice, and was coming from right in front of her. She looked down once again; at her hands. They were now completely covered in blood. Her vision slowly began to blacken. Her eyes were still open. Is this what dying felt like..? Was she about to die..? Her head began to spin. She felt dizzy, like she couldn’t keep herself up anymore. She heard a faint thud, and felt a small pain in her head; nothing like the current pain in her chest. Though, even that was starting to fade. All of her senses were starting to disappear. She couldn’t feel anything. She tried to speak, and managed to get out one last sentence before everything faded to black.
“I don’t want… to die…”
CHAPTER 5 - NEW BEGINNINGS
"If my soul was torn, would you help? Would you try and fix me? Would you help unbreak me?~"
Seconds later, Camila felt herself come to. This time, with no pain at all. Her head was resting on the ground, facing the doorway. In front of her, were four pairs of feet. Two that belonged to the man in white, and two behind him. Those feet were covered in black robes, and didn’t appear to be visual at the moment. She tilted her head and looked up. The man in white now had a hole in his chest, similarly to the way that she did, only much bigger. The hole in his chest was the size of a katana, as he was just run through by one. The hole in her chest was the size of a kitchen knife.
Camila began to feel for the wound on her chest, and felt nothing. Had that just been a bad dream? No, it couldn't have been. The man who just attacked her family stood before her, now bloodied and likely dead. But, if the hole in her chest wasn’t there, then was she alive? Camila slowly stood up, and looked down. Before her, was her own body, laying there motionless on the floor. She stared in shock. She really had died. Her own father had just killed her. But why? What would give him a good enough reason to-
“Hey,” a voice called out to Camila, “Everything is alright now, you can rest easy.” She looked up. The man in the black robes smiled at her. She gasped. A Shinigami! A real live Shinigami just came! She began to think out loud. “Shinigami exist to help spirits, right? But, I don’t see my mom or dad anywhere.” Camila looked at the two fresh bodies on the ground, once of which she saw die, and the other she didn’t witness.
“Well, you see, kid,” The shinigami began to say, “The man that just killed both of these two people next to you was a Quincy. They’re similar to us Shinigami, only instead of purifying hollowed souls, they destroy ‘em.” She looked at the man, confused. “Hollowed souls?” The Shinigami nodded, withdrawing his blade from the quincy, as he fell to the ground. “Yeah. Your family seems to have a fair amount of Hollow Reiatsu inside of them. However, this seems to have affected you more than the others.” She continued to stare, still confused. “What makes you say that? You didn’t arrive in time to save my little brother, so how could you possibly know that it affected me more than anybody else?” Camila’s tone got quite aggressive here.
“Easy now, kid,” The Shinigami said, “This is how I know; Your spiritual pressure is comparable to that of mine. You’ve easily got the largest and strongest here out of everybody in your family. If it wasn’t for that, I wouldn’t have come to save you. If we’re speaking honestly here…” his voice began to trail off, “I thought you were a hollow. It was a pleasant surprise to find you instead, but I did in-fact think you were a hollow to begin with.” Camila’s face was filled with nothing but pure shock. Her? A hollow? Surely he had to be joking, right? “I don’t think It’s against any kind of rules to do this,” the Shinigami said, “So I’m going to send you to the Soul Society. In the case that anybody asks…” the Shiniami’s voice began to trail off again, “...just tell them you were attacked by a massive hollow. Hopefully they’ll believe that.” Clearly, he was fairly new at his job. That much was certainly evident from their encounter.
The Shinigami walked up to Camila, and gently placed the pommel of his katana against her forehead. Suddenly, she was blinded by a large flash of light. For a good few seconds, she couldn’t see a thing. After a bit, upon regaining her vision, she was in a new, foreign place. After piecing things together, she concluded that this must’ve been the Soul Society. There was not very much of another explanation that could’ve been plausible, considering the turn of events that had just occurred.
Camila felt a hand on her shoulder. It felt cold, like it shouldn’t have been there to begin with. She quickly turned around. She felt her heart sink in her chest. The man behind her had been the very same man who had constantly tormented her for the last 16 years. The very same man who had put her through hell and back. And here he was, in the afterlife. With her. “So,” He asked, a wicked smile forming on his face…
“Did you miss me?”
