Ranth blinked in response to Rin's question. Could he swim? His momentary hesitation wasn't born of whether he could swim or not, but rather the odd tone in Rin's voice as she asked the question. A tone that seemed at once both playful and somehow... sinister. Feeling a cold shiver run down his spine, he turned just in time to see Rin loop one thumb suggestively beneath the cord that held her Zanpakuto and then, equally suggestively, bent over to lay the blade at the base of a nearby tree.
"I uh... yes... wet... that would... bad"
Ranth's words left his lips in a string of almost unintelligible syllables in the aftermath of Rin bending down to carefully lay her weapon down... with her eyes locked on his the entire time. What on earth was this? Those eyes... what the heck was going on behind them? Ranth's face felt hot, but that heat spread throughout his entire body like some kind of fever under that woman's sultry gaze as she straightened up and began to approach him and seized his robes.
Before he even realised, she'd pulled the flowing white garment away to reveal the skintight black shirt he wore underneath. yet despite the removed layer, Ranth felt increasingly hot as she backed him towards the edge of the water. Yet that was the last thing on his mind until Rin's gaze released his and swung over his shoulder, causing Ranth- being the fool that he was- to half turn in the direction that Rin indicated... only for him to feel a sudden pressure and then he was falling.
The water was icy as Ranth plunged into it with a splash and then Ranth found himself looking up at Rin from beneath the rippling surface of the water with a mixture of bewilderment and outrage as he realised how thoroughly he'd been beguiled and then tricked by the Empress. Well, two can play at that game, he thought slyly as he began to thrash about aimlessly in the water in the telltale fashion that only one kind of person would demonstrate. Someone who didn't know how to swim... and was drowning. Within moments, Ranth had thrashed his way far enough from the shore that Rin couldn't reach him from the safety of the shore. "H-help!" He managed to splutter once before he went under and the splashing abruptly stopped and an eerie stillness came over the surface of the water.
