Skirmish in the Rukongai

She felt her paw rip through flesh as she plunged her paw into the females stomach after she had dodged the shockwave Rafael had created. She felt gross, maybe even regret for doing so but they were trying to harm them. She pushed aside the feeling to retract her paw from the female’s stomach. This was definitely a sensation that she didn't know how to handle. It was different than hunting for food.

She felt the blood seep deep into her fur, taunting the little white fur she had on her paw to drip off her claws. She took a few steps back from the fallen shinigami before she felt a small tug on her arm to see that Rafael was at her side not fighting the other shinigami. She raised a brow as she looked between the female and her panther friend. He was right from the looks of things there was no point in continuing.

She gave a small nod of her head at his order then watch him appear near Lolth who was already preparing to leave. It seemed he was getting better at using that technique. When they got back home she would need to practice the idea of him being faster than her didn't sit well for some reason. She turned her head to her fallen foe then ran to her friends sides to leave with them. At least Rafael knew when to leave a fight, but this time, it was for their safety.

She turned her head as she stopped at Lolth’s side, now being careful of her little spiderlings to keep herself from stepping on any of the ones that where at her side. She glanced at the spider woman then nodded her head in agreement with the female as she turned to look at Rafael. “Let’s just go home before anything else happens.” She said as she started to head in the direction of the forest.

[Ranth]

Ranth leaped forwards and deflected the attack from the female beast aimed towards his fellow Shinigami, barely making it in time to prevent what would have no doubt been an awful injury. However, their brief contact would remain exactly that- brief- as a sudden stir in the air caused Ranth to glance down the road towards where the largest of the trio had gone and his eyes widened in surprise as he saw an oncoming wall of debris, driven by a wave of pure force. Seizing the Shinigami woman, Ranth dragged her into the mouth of the nearby alley just in time to avoid disaster.

After the enormous explosion caused by the largest of the three beasts, Ranth was forced to take refuge in the mouth of the alleyway once again. Dust and debris rushed past and he covered his mouth and nose to prevent himself from breathing it in. Objectively speaking, the power on display was incredible but the collateral damage for the people that lived here would likely not leave them with awe so much as hatred and despair for the beasts, but likely also for those that had failed to protect them. This was meant to be a marketplace, not a war zone and yet now that was exactly what it was and as the dust cleared, all that was left was the debris of shattered stalls and ruined wares.

Cautiously, Ranth stepped back into the street and past his eyes about, but the beasts were already gone. Upon finding his comrades amidst the destruction and confirming their safety, there was nothing left to be done other than to report all that had happened to their superiors. It was still unknown whether those 3 beasts were responsible for the previous attack, but there could be no doubt now that they were powerful and dangerous individuals who couldn't be allowed to roam freely within the Soul Society no matter what.
