Being in a place like Hueco Mundo for the past few centuries can really leave you out of the loop of information circling through the Human World; A prime example being that Adolf had no idea about the events of either of the World Wars. Being born and having died decades upon decades before these were even close to beginning, it was safe to say he didn't really have much of a chance of knowing about them. After having been informed about the events that went down in those years, Adolf couldn't help but feel fascinated about the conflicts. He had to see it all for himself.
He took the time to prepare for a trip to the Human World; his first since becoming a hollow. He wasn't sure what was going to happen, whether or not he would be observed by ordinary people or not. After all, he spent most of his time after death before transitioning into the being he is now in solitude. Nobody really acknowledged his existence anyway, so how would he be able to tell? It was a risk he was willing to take. Other than that, he was mentally prepared for the journey for the most part. Nothing was really on his mind other than this, and he was fairly excited. It wasn't every day that you got to study the past, let alone during a time you weren't living in. Sure, it wouldn't be nearly as good as being able to be there during the actual events of the time, but it was a close second.
The plan was to start in Cologne, Germany, and eventually make his way to London, where he had grown up. There was no doubt that things had changed from then, and he wanted to see what had. After Germany was Belgium, in which was planned to be more of a "passing by", rather than observing the things that had happened there. He never really heard much about either of these countries growing up, so there wasn't really much he could reference the modernized changes to these countries. After Belgium though, was the UK. Adolf was no doubt excited to see how his hometown had changed, and that was an important part of the trip ahead of them. Of course, Germany was a large reason as to why he was going, but nevertheless, his home was just as important.
Upon arriving through a Garganta in which he had set up on one of his floors in Los Noches, Adolf had arrived in Cologne, and what a sight it was. The architecture was absolutely marvelous, and everything looked so busy. It made him feel like he was home, after all this time. Even though his actual home was miles away, it still had a similar feel to it. Adolf let out a large smile, and began to take a trip overhead of the city to sight-see. Most of the things he had seen weren't things he had understood. Phones being a large example of this. He hadn't been able to keep up with the technological advances in any way, so this was all new to him. After about two hours or so, he decided to take a break. He sat down on top of the roof of a tall building, one he'd later realize was the Cologne Cathedral, and took in his surroundings again.
