There is a Fundamental Issue i think With the current iteration of Hason. They are simply a Hell based Hollow, without being a Hollow, without the uniqueness of being a hollow. This creates a Distinct issue where the creation process Simply places the Player in an odd situation "Why not just make a Hollow?"
I asked myself this same question several times when i was making Astaroth. The Distinctions between Hollows and Hason are few and far between. their racial ability track works almost exactly the same, Though perhaps being a little bit more limited on the Hasons side. Hollows are not restricted to an aspect of hell. They are still restricted to an overall theme, But They can select any sort of theme they want.
I had initially thought "Why not give hason a release?" But There are.. Honestly Too many release based races on the site. While these releases are All unique and work in a unique method, the are All Releases, A post duration, a Transformation of some variety, or a new weapon that grows and shifts.. All of these unique and cool and After having a few changes i think each race has its own niche.
Quincy bow releases, while tough to conceptualize and get working are unique, Arrancar and Shinigami.. well VERY similar however they were always meant to be and the fact that Shinigami are weapon based releases and Arrancar are more body releases make them different enough to be interesting.
Rogues are Amazingly unique and Ive always looked at it longingly but cant make myself write one. Bounts are awesome, the versatility or focus that you can cultivate is perfect. Mod souls are in much the same bout as Rogues, a cool Style of release that i've just never been able to get behind but i adore.
Fullbringers are awesome, So many ways you can design a fullbringer. Then we get to hollows.. Hollows are unique, perhaps unique enough that a Hollow can be Much more powerful than a release simply by Dint of Following a good idea track. Akki, their Sasei oni Release with 6 Stages is Awe inspiring levels of detail and nuance.
Beast Clan Yaseishin is unique and crazy, it fits their feral and evolutionary nature. Failures as well, I personally have little love for the race, But they are perfectly unique and Something Special that deserves a place here on the site i think.
Then we get to Hason.. Hason Do the same thing that Hollows do, just more limited in scope.. Not only are they more limited in scope but they have no mask to break, they have no stepping stone for later, They are what they are and will always be that. So to me it feels more than a Bit silly to just be a hollow power set clone.
Saika do the same thing in Cloning the power set of Fullbringers. But for now we will Simply talk about the Hasons as .. There aren't any Active Saika that i am aware of?
The way that Hason are Created is A unique idea, and I believe that this deserves a unique ability set. Not only this but their place and rank as Traditionally the lowest ranking denizens of Hell should probably play a part in this Ability set, making it more limited than other ability sets. The name for their Abilities I would propose be changed to "Aeterna Delicti"
Its unique But I would like to add a Better reasoning behind WHY they get these abilities. WHAT these abilities are and How they function differentlyy from every other release or technique chain on the site.
The Hason are Spiritual sinners, A plus or a Shinigami that Commited Terrible sins while withijn the Soul society. Their sins were so heavy, and so far tainting within their souls that they were to be removed from the Normal cycle of souls. Their presence within the cycle was so damaging that they were sent to hell to be warped into a hellish beast.
The Hason's Aeterna Delicti should as it currently is be related to an aspect of Hell. I love that part of the race, However what currently makes them feel bland is that they get an overall that is only there to describe what techniques they will have later, not an overall ability that they can draw from to fight or interact with the world.
There are however few methods that currently exist for making a character race viable without a release that seems balanced without leaving them as is. First i would like to propse a Slight change to How hason are perceived. Hason Shouldn't be limited to the Horrific and frightening Sins are not Frightening all the time, Sins are Allureing the pleasures we are often denied. Hason should be allowed to be Darker humanoid forms, Albiet still warped by hell in some fashion but more humanoid than currently stated.
The New Aeterna Delicti I propse Deals with an overall Ability And It must be explicity named. This overall ability Works Similarly to a Zanpaktou's overall in that The overall describes the Aeterna Delicti as a Whole and The hason can draw from the Aeterna Delicti's overall at any time, they do not release, instead the Aeterna Delicti is always there for them to draw from. The Aeterna Delicti and its overall are always the same Class as the Hason and Must relate directly to the Hasons Aspect of Hell.
The Aeterna Delicti can be Spiritual or Bodily in nature, and as the Hason Grows in strength the Aeterna Delicti will evolve. The Basic overal ability Also known as Aeterna Delicti - Primus Informs the Aeterna Delicti as a whole And Then as the Hason progress they gain more control over it. The Second Stage Is the Aeterna Delicti - Inferus And this Stage Takes the Aeterna Delicti into a Physical form.The Inferus Can not be broken as it is formed from the Hasons own Chains, Its very touch burns any who are not a denizen of hell and it carries with it a passive ability that Ties it to the Primus. this ability is always active And must be purely offensive even if the item is meant to be defensive.
There is one last stage, The Aeterna Delicti - Supremus This is the last stage of the Aeterna Delicti and its most powerful. The Supremus stage of the Aeterna unlocks a Single powerful Technique that can only be used 3 times per thread. The first use Destroys the inferus, the second use Doubles the Costs inheirant in the primus. And the third use Will Kill the Hason, sending them back to hell the post after they use it.
The Aeterna Delicti - primus should be unlocked at Class 7. The Aeterna Delicti - inferus Should be unlocked at Class 4 or even at class 3. And the Supremus should only be allowed to Hason who are class 1. The Aeterna Delicti is a representation fo the Hasons eternal punishment for their greivous sins and most Hason Are wholly consumed by this power. The Hasons that can take hold of it and Grasp it are those hasons that would be RPC's, a Reasoning behind why Hasons MUST start at Class 7 because any hason that is weaker would be consumed by their own power.
Likewise The Aeterna Delicti Supremus prevents Hason from attaining Class 0, as The supremus breaks their body and their power to use it so no matter what they do they can never Proceed beyond Class 1.
