Ooc: Training for ttp and Hado #1 to proficient
Outside his home in the literal mountain on a cliff, stood a man. He was six feet tall, and glowed. This man was known as Impossible, or Impo for short. He had a serious look on his face, deep in thought. He was looking down the cliff, down to the bottom of the mountain. It was a long ways down, and would most certainly kill him if he fell down, even if he wouldn't die from a single strike. So he summoned something known as a flood, though if you asked, he would refer to it as a fullbring, simply from his own self denial.
A flood is a gigantic mass of reiatsu, glowing just like the failure did, and Impo summoned it behind him. It quickly began to fly down, becoming more like a rope as it snaked its way down the mountain. Impo watched, as he controlled it as it flew further and further down along the rocky surface. Impo shuddered. At the top was as lonely as it was cold, and boy was it cold. He shut up and put up with it, as he controlled the glowing flying flood. It took a full five minutes for the tip of the reiatsu to touch down to the base of the mountain.
"Finally." The glowing man said. He touched the end of the flood that was still next to him. In an instant, or as close to an instant as he could get, he was at the bottom of the mountain too. He looked back up at the top of the mountain, seeing the long line of energy from a different angle. It was always interesting to see. Using the same ability that moved him down, he used it also on his flood, summoning it in the blink of an eye. No longer was it a line, but now was a ball hovering behind him. He wrapped the flood around him, before walking away from his rocky home.
At the base of the mountain was an abandoned temple, long since forgotten by the people who used to worship there. Impo remembered the first time he entered the place. At first, he had considered it as a potential home for himself. He only wished that he could undo that day. That day, he had awoken the evils that lay deep within the temple. Or at least, they used to lie there. He could hear giggling as he got closer towards the building. The walls of the building were covered in rice paper windows. There were holes in windows, and behind them one could see red eyes, and white smiles.
"Hello there Impo~, you look especially moody today! How about you come in? We'll make you feel nice again, hehehehehe!" The voice that came from behind the ricepaper was a sweet, honest, and alluring voice. To a lesser man, the voice and implied offer would be tempting, especially considering that one could hear more than one woman's laugh. But Impo knew better than that. He had seen their true faces. There were five of them, all around his age, around sixteen years old, and they looked like some of the most beautiful women you could imagine.
He glared over at them, looking at them with one of his odd eyes. It was an eye reminiscent of a hollows, only with green where a hollow's was yellow, and a white pupil. The women behind the wall didn't flinch. They didn't react, and didn't respond. They just waited there. Watching. Staring. The five were not demons. They were ghosts. Spirits, still chained to the temple, but were nowhere near weak, and nothing close to good. These women were only a few of the ghosts in the temple. The rest were trapped in a well in the deepest darkest pit in the place.
The women were still waiting for him to respond. While the women were trapped inside the building, and were unable to get outside without his aid, and boy did they want out, he knew that it was a bad idea to ignore them. He glared at them through the holes in the screens, as he walked around to the front of the dark temple. They followed like silent sharks. They moved like a wave of darkness. The eyes and smiles twisted and shifted impossibly, going around each other like some sort of creature without a solid form.
Upon reaching the front of the temple, he could see the opening of the place. He was reminded to the first time he entered the building. The doors had barely been closed at first. 'Then my dumb a$$ opened them.' The door was a pair of sliding doors, that pulled apart in order to open. They were cracked open, fairly wide, but certainly not wide enough for a person to squeeze through. A child could though. A few moments after he appeared, they did as well. One woman, the strongest, stood in the center of the opening.
She was wearing an old-fashioned kimono, with a black soul chain on her chest. It looked worn, well used so to speak. It looked like it was rotted. As if she died in it. She had a beautiful face, and long green hair. Four other heads were looking through the crack. There was another girl that looked identical to the most forward one, a girl with short orange hair, and two young girls, one with blond hair, and another with purplish blue hair. They all had something in common though. Their eyes were a sickly yellow, with a slit for their pupils. They held the eyes of demons.
They were silent, but gave him heartwarming smiles, as if trying to encourage him to speak up. He didn't, but he strode forward towards the door. The women's faces turned gleeful, like someone had just told a child that they would be getting anything they wanted from the candy store. The women finally started talking him. "Oh yes! Don't worry, we'll give you all the love in the world! Just open the doors and-" As Impo grabbed the edges of the doors, he did not try to open them. Instead he tried to close them.
The effect was instantaneous. The women's faces turned expressionless, while the doors refused to budge inwards. Impo cursed, and used shunpo backwards, and thirty arms attempted to grab him. Screeching was heard from the five women, all cursing him. "YOU DARE TRY TO LOCK US AWAY!? WE SHALL THROW YOU INTO THE WELL!" The arms tried to open the doors, but were unable to make the doors move apart. Impo growled at the 'girls', as they attempted to free themselves from their prison. The history of this place was a dark one, and so were all involved.
After his skirmish with the ghosts of this place's past, he decided to do some research. Not because he cared or anything. He searched through books on local history, temples, and anything else that could clue him in on what he had encountered that day. Sadly, he had to stop searching while he helped make his home with his mentor Kitai, and wasn't that a hectic project, taking nearly three days to complete. Either way, he still had no idea what happened to his neighbors, especially with those blackened soul chains.
His eyes narrowed as he heard rushed clanking from the doorway, bringing him back into reality. The arms were withdrawing back into the evil place. The girls returned, only now their faces were reminiscent to that of Kitai's, with a deadly glint in their eyes as they glared him down. "If you're trying to scare me, you're gonna have to try harder. I've seen scarier looks from my Jack a$$ teacher on his good days." His face looked nonplussed, as he continued staring down a demon. "We could have been friends Impo. Friends with many benifits. We still can if you open the doors. Then we can forget about you trying to leave us again."
She sounded sincere, but her eyes gave her away. And her smile. And the fact that she was essentially a plus soul turned demon. Friggin cultists. "As tempting as that is, I have a better idea." He told her in an even tone. All the girls took on a confused look. Normally this was the point that the failure turned them down and walked off. The fact that he was willing to talk to them now? There had to be a trick. Her thoughts reflected on her face, holding a scrutinizing look as she stared at him, never once breaking eye contact with his hollow like eye, and the empty royal peuple one.
"And what exactly could you possibly want more than a few pieces of this?" She said, trying to sound alluring as she could, rubbing the heads of the two older girls around her. They took on a look of content, as they leaned into her touch. Impo walked forward again, cautious of the range that their hands had. "You act as if sex is the most important thing in the world." He looked indifferent to their advances. The looked at him like sharks, waiting for him to get too close. Close enough to grab.
He never got close enough. "What I want is to know what happened to you lot. That well.... what have you all done?" He asked, hands in his pockets. He looked serious, wanting an answer. What he received though.... the girls managed to scare him this time. His eyes widened, as the gravitational pressure kicked up, crushing him down, as he summoned his flood to try and defend himself, to try and get some sort of safeguard against the unholy reiatsu of this place. He fell to his knees lightly, barely managing to avoid exploding. All the while, the five girls were laughing insanely, many times worse than anything Kitai has let loose.
For some reason Impo could hear cicadas.
The pressure vanished in an instant, and the failure looked at the door, a panicked expression gracing his face. "You wish to know what happened to our souls?" The purple haired girl spoke up in a respectful tone. "HA! You're not man enough to handle what happened to us!" Said the blond child besides the purple haired one. Then, to his extreme horror, the two girls started walking out of the building. His eyes were practically bulging out of his skull, as he quickly got to his feet and backed away.
The girls calmly followed after him. The girl with the purple hair had a large steak knife. She looked very comfortable with the blade in hand. She knew exactly how to use it. The girl with yellow hair had a metal bat. She held it a tad awkwardly, seeing as it was as tall as she was, but Impo was sure that she could still cause plenty of damage with it if she wanted to. And she certainly looked like she wanted to. The leader had a smug look on her face. "Oh that's rich. Do you really want to know what happened to us? Or do you want to know what we plan to do when we get out? Because you will let us out."
Impo could see the blackened chains on the girls chests for the first time, only ever having seen the green haired girl in detail. The black chains were nightmarish. Where normal soul chains would eventually eat themselves to the soul of the owner, these chains also had mouths and teeth. But the mouths were frozen in horror, screaming out in eternal pain. Impo had managed to retreat back to the clearing in front of the temple. The children, they couldn't have been older than ten, wearing Kimonos they must have been killed in, because there was blood splattered all over their clothing.
Regaining his composure, he glared at the two. They walked away from each other, trying to circle him, skirting the edge of his flood. Keeping his 'eyes' on the two, using all of his senses to keep track of them, he replied to the green one. "You know, I think I'd prefer knowing what you plan to do, cause whatever you did is more f#*ked up than I first thought." She laughed at him, in that same psychotic laughter. They all did. The two, now out of my range of sight, dashed at me, hoping to strike me. Their laughter was short lived.
Impo's flood was unique. While some failures focused on attack or defence for their floods, Impo's was purely utility. His flood could move anything that touched it to any other point of his flood. Meaning, that the two that just foolishly entered the glowing mass of reiatsu? They were in for a bad time. Out of nowhere, the two girls collided into one another. It was quite effective in getting them all to shut the f*%k up. Now it was the failure's turn to look smug, as they all looked dumbstruck. "w-what!?"
The two shared a confused look, before getting their heads back in the game. The purple one charged first, with the yellow one following closely behind. The girl lunged, trying to hit him with a stab to the gut. It didn't work. Suddenly, the yellow girl was in front of the purple one, and they were both five feet further back than they were moments before. The knife stabbed the yellow child, which now that he thought about it, likely was much older than they both appeared. It made him feel a little better about playing them for fools.
He heard them cry out. One in pain, the other in shock. Impo heard and saw the chains rushing back inside, like flow of black water or a very fast snake. But then the chain stopped, snagged, seemingly on nothing. The leader had a panicked look on her face, as she called out to her friends, even going so far as to try and escape despite knowing that the act, was Impossible. The two girls were frozen, unmoving, or as Impo liked to call it, in stasis. The leader snarled, knowing that this was the failure's doing.
"YOU LET THEM GO NOW!" She roared, a demonic voice replacing her usual one. Impo merely glared, trying to look as nonplussed as possible, but he could feel a bead of sweat roll down the back of his neck. "You tell me what you plan on doing, then I'll let them go." He mentally applauded himself for managing to keep his voice even, but he could see his flood turn yellow. It represented fear, or at least it did in this instance. For whatever reason, she decided to act on the change, and kept glaring at him, before giving in.
"When we are free, the first thing I plan to do is add your soul to the well!" She said angrily. Impo bravely waved in hand, rolling it in a circle motioning her to get on with it, rolling his eyes at the same time. She only looked more pissed. "After that, I'll drag all of Karakura into a realm without fear." Impo blinked in surprise and confusion. "What?" He asked dumbly. She looked at him as if she were looking at a something disgusting. "This land will be turned into a world where nothing stays dead. Everyone lives, and then when everyone subject to our magic, they will be reset and rearranged." The failure's eyes were wide, and his mouth hung open.
"ARE YOU INSANE!?" He yelled in horror. The implication of that was unthinkable. The woman only grinned ferally. "In our world, sanity is pointless." Her smile grew to face-splitting proportions. "Once we're free, this conversation will be nonexistent. Nothing will matter. We'll live on again, and again, and again, till the end of the universe. Different starting points, different ending, no two lives playing out in the exact same way, and no one will remember. Not even us" She explained to him, deadset with this happening. Impo could only stare, unable to comprehend the situation he was dealing with.
He shook his head, hanging it low, chuckling. "Oh man, I almost believed you for a second there." He said, feeling like a fool. He stared her dead in the eyes. "Even if you could do that, even if I did free you, what would be the point? You'd forget everything you've done, making your existence meaningless. Without death, or at least death having no meaning, your life becomes meaningless, you said it yourself. Why bother with such a stupid plan? Heck, why bother wanting these two to live?" He asked, and she only gave him a pitying, before that look turned into horror as he held an unreleased cero in the two frozen girls direction.
"Because I need them for the plan!" Her voice came out in a rushed scream. He only looked at her with a deadpanned look. He fired the cero upwards, getting the girls to scream in shock. Why were there so many cicadas around here, and why were they so loud? He moved the two over in front of him. He unfroze them, and blasted them with a shinigami technique known as Sho. The ability blasted the two back, slamming them into the building with tremendous force. The women quickly dragged the two back inside. "You're never getting free. I won't let anyone free you demons. You're in there for a reason, and I don't intend on seeing what that reason is." At that, the failure walked away, passing through the woods to try and get to work on time.
