Thread Title: Couple Training Fight Participants: Zahra, Qaletaqa World: Soul Society Death Setting: Non Death Enabled Rating: PG-13 Location: Just outside of their cave home in the wilds of the Rukongai Special Conditions: N/A Circumstances: Zahra wanted to try her best against her mate, Qaletaqa, again after her recent adventures. She knew she had gotten stronger, but how strong was her mate now?
Zahra was sitting in the front of the cave, admiring everything that she had been collecting over the past few months. She glanced back towards the passageway towards the huge opening in the cave. That opening was used by her mate, where he spent a lot of his time by himself. There was something that seemed a bit different from him now. She didn't know if it was because she had been adventuring outside more or what, but he didn't seem to spend as much time in that place anymore.
She wasn't complaining, but he did still go back there to do a little bit of swimming when he wanted to. She was organizing her piles of shiny things, which she learned were made out of 'gold' and other shiny metals. She would hold them up to the light, admire them and then place them back in their appropriate spot. It was then that she was just curious as to what her mate could be doing in the big space right now. She put her 'gold' items down on the ground and started to move towards the passageway.
Once she got there, she flicked her ears, trying to see if she could hear anything through the passageway. She couldn't make anything out, so she decided to make her way through it. She slowly walked through the passageway, the size of it just big enough for her to pass through. She pushed through the passageway and after a few minutes, she found herself back in the huge area that was a part of the cave they called their home. She looked around the room, still surprised that such a big space could be in a cave like this.
She then focused her eyes on her mate, head bobbing out of one of the little rivers that runs through this area of the cave. She walked over to him, smiling and swishing her tail while she walked. She hadn't spent too much time with him lately, but today was going to be the day she would. She walked towards the edge of the little river and stuck her hand in the water, making little motions to disturb the water enough so that her mate would know that she was there.
Once he came up to see her, she would smile down at him. "Zahra hasn't seen mate in awhile. Mate good? Enjoying big space here with lots of water? Zahra hasn't fought with mate in awhile. Is mate interested?" She was curious if her mate was even interested in fighting against her again. They hadn't sparred in a long time, and this would be a nice change of pace for them. It would also be a good chance to spend time with him.
Qaletaqa moved throughout the water in the cave that he had come to know as his home. It was pretty early in the morning or at least it had been when he started to swim. Zahra his mate had gone outside of the cave around the same time that he had gotten up and went over to the water. He didn't really know why he liked the water so much, but for one reason or another it was peaceful to actually be in it for long extended periods of time. It felt pleasant especially when he got out of the water and his fur was wet.
All of these things alone were out of the norm for Qaletaqa. He had been in the wilderness for what had felt like hundreds of years for it fact it had been that long and only now was he finally able to start enjoying life. He had always been cursed with a blind rage that would have overtaken him and caused him to destroy and kill everything around him. The curse had been to powerful for him to control and eventually led to him choosing a life of isolation in order to protect everything else he loved from harm.
That had all changed when he met Zahra and the both of them for one reason or another were taken with each other so swiftly. After the two of them started to look out for one another as mates Qaletaqa not only had something to feel happy about, but his curse had seemed to falter. After awhile they had met another beast that liked the swim and found this cave where they now called home. It was all well and good and the both of them were happy for the time being. Qaletaqa was for one reason or another now free from his curse and could live his life the way he planned so long ago.
That life though wasn't one of simple day to day survival or peace. Qaletaqa had a great hate in his soul and it was directed at the furless blade wielders that claimed so many lives and land from his people. He had been swimming in order to train his leg muscles in order to get both stronger and faster on land where he would be able to crush the furless and take back the land that had been claimed by them at the price of his people. That was when he popped his head up from the water and felt Zahra nearby him. He swam over to her and listened to his mate speak and then ask if he would want to fight with her.
Qaletaqa suddenly had a big devilish grin across his face as his fangs revealed themselves. He wouldn't have ever fought with her willingly while the curse was over him due to the fear of being unable to stop himself from hurting her. Now that the curse was gone though and he had total control over his actions such an activity sounded more fun than he could control. He crawled out of the water quickly and then stood more than a full foot over Zahra as he shook himself water falling off from his fur. "Water good." Qaletaqa leaned downwards and licked the side of Zahra's face. "Mate better. Zahra ready to be beat?" Qaletaqa grinned playfully pushing Zahra knowing her pride and confidence would make his statement nothing more than another stick in the fire of her excitement and drive to claim victory over him.
Zahra stood while her mate got out of the water. She watched him get out, with all the water sticking to his fur, making him stand out even more. When he commented on the water and shook, she raised an arm as to not get completely soaked. He was taller than her, with more fur, so it was very easy for her to get completely soaked from him shaking the water off his body. She noticed the smile that he had given her and she saw what she recognized as some mischievousness in it. It seemed that her mate was up to something.
Once he was done, he leaned down and licked the side of her face. Once his tongue touched her face, in that warm gesture, she closed her eyes slightly, enjoying the feel of being close to him. Once the tongue was removed, she could still smell his scent on her, which made her feel even more warm than before. It was always nice when he would re-mark her, making her feel more secure and knowing she was with someone else, it made her feel all the better. He then said that he was better and if Zahra was ready to be beaten.
She smiled back at her mate, moving her hands up to touch his torso. She then shoved him, trying to show him how strong she was. If he fell back into the water was dependent on him, if she was strong enough against him. If he fell back or not, she would speak to him. "You think? Zahra strong, mate will have challenge against Zahra." She then turned away from him. She made her way back towards the passageway that she took to get back here in the first place. Her tail flicked along with her, swaying with her.
She made it to the passageway and slowly started to walk through it. She glanced back towards her mate and winked at him. She was ready to go for it and it seemed like he was as well. As she made her way through the small passageway, she thought about how the fight might go. She was curious as to how he would fight against her. She's seen his power firsthand, but she had never shown her power to anyone....yet. She didn't know if this would be the time to show it or not. She knew that she was very strong.
But, it's been awhile since they've actually fought against each other. The last time it happened, it was still when he would go into weird fits of rage and lash out against anyone that was close by. It was her and Arjaka, when they actually found this cave that they called their home. It was a crazy fight, but they were able to keep him calm enough that he was able to get out of his rage and then they started to call this place their home. She didn't know if the rage would come back, but from what she's seen, it wouldn't.
Once she was clear of the passageway, she quickly made her way out of the front room of the cave, which was pretty much her area only. Her mate would stay towards the back while she claimed the front, cluttering it with all of her 'gold.' Well, she didn't call it clutter, more like organized mess. Once she made her way outside, she pulled two of her knives out of her leg sheathe, spinning them slightly in her hand while waiting for her mate to exit the cave. Once he made it to the clearing, she would throw one of the knives directly at his head, to see how fast he actually was.
The fact that while he shook his body getting as much of the water off of his fur as possible in order to move at his full speed for this rare occurrence Qaletaqa was given a small treat. One that Zahra herself wouldn't understand or at least acknowledge for it was something that Qaletaqa hadn't ever told her and for the moment wanted to cling to it for himself along with his happiness. It was rather simply, but a feeling that he had preciously only felt when gazing upon children taking notice of how pure they often were more times than naught. Qaletaqa simply smiled joyfully as Zahra tried her best to keep herself from getting wet.
The face that she made while attempting such a thing the large otter felt for one reason or another was simply adorable and couldn't be anything less than perfect. He hadn't ever had the opportunity to feel whatever light warm feeling was in his chest right now until he met Zahra and often times he felt that if anything ever happened he wouldn't be able to return to the sorrow that had once been all his soul knew. When he slept she was there in his dreams more and more and when he woke she was with him and he was beginning to come to terms with all of it and accept that no matter what he wouldn't change a thing.
After he spoke making sure to poke the hot coals of his mates pride and confidence so that she would be ready and excited for the fight between them arguably more so than he himself she moved her paws up to his chest. Qaletaqa since he had gained control over his rage had began to understand and better adapt to fighting and immediately when she placed her hands on his chest he knew what was going to happen. Yet he knew that it would damper her spirits and so as Zahra pushed Qaletaqa he braced his paws on the stone with his strength. Qaletaqa could tell that his mate had grown incredibly strong physically stronger than him yet strength wasn't his greatest asset and she was going to learn that.
The stone he was standing on cracked and small bits dropped into the water he had been in as he kept himself standing his toes holding his full weight as his heels loomed over the surface of the water. He starred down at her eyes his own gaze one of confidence and challenge towards her. "Zahra little rabbit bunny. Qal true beast that you learn floppy ears." Qaletaqa grinned down at her snickering as he commented on how large his mates ears were. He knew that she wouldn't really take it all that well and the fight between them would be one of fire and strive all the more fun.
Zahra led the way out of the cave and Qaletaqa began to follow behind her a few paces as she walked. At first Qaletaqa had his confidence that even if his mate was physically stronger than him at the moment se wouldn't be any kind of match for the speed he had achieved through his own methods of training. He was to be the alpha that would reclaim the land of the beasts that was his calling. However, as they continued outwards he lost sight of what was actually going on and that was for one reason alone that he never could overcome.
His mates lushes features simply grasped all attention from the beast that continued to walk behind her. He had gone from complete confidence to a large moving body of fur that couldn't take his gaze away from her backside as she made her way towards the entrance. It was right when she was nearing the actual exit to the cave that was also the entrance when they moved through a tight space and Qaletaqa not paying attention to anything, but Zahra absentmindedly smacked into the side of the cave. His attention was ripped free from the tracker beam that was his mates features and Qaletaqa shook his head from side to side for a moment and regained his composure on what was actually going on and not what he actually wanted to happen afterwards now.
As he stepped out from the cave he saw Zahra leaning upwards for some reason and then move her hand forwards. In the next moment Qaletaqa saw something shining coming towards him, but didn't get what it was. He felt like he was forgetting something and then moved his head to the left only to feel as if a claw had cut across his ear. Blood flowing from his right ear down the side of his face and he remembered now that his mate liked to use sharp objects like the furless when she fought others. Qaletaqa rushed forwards towards Zahra leaping into the air after a moment and pulling his legs upwards. It would only take a moment for him to be upon her and if she didn't do something his feet would connect with her stomach as his paws gripped her shoulders as he attempted to knock her over to the ground and dig his claws into her flesh.
Zahra heard the comment that Qal had made and his snickering made her growl a little in her throat before she had walked away. She was not a rabbit. She was a jackal! A predator! She wasn't some stupid prey thing. Though, she did touch her ears and figured he compared her to a rabbit because of her big ears. He just didn't know that the big ears helped with many things, like displaying all the shiny things that are in them to the best of their ability. There was also something that made her laugh as they were leaving her mate's 'area.'
She made it to the passageway and when she started to pass through it, she heard a huge smack on the rock of one of the walls next to the entrance. She assumed that her mate had run into a wall and that made her laugh pretty loud. Obviously, he was thinking of other things, instead of the task at hand, which was to fight her in a spar to see which one of them was the stronger beast. Once they reached outside, however, it was interesting that he didn't dodge. She threw her throwing knife at him and he just stood there, staring at it.
He moved his head to the left, only to get his right ear cut by her knife. She saw that it fell harmlessly behind him, but the first blood drawn was on her mate. To her, she had already scored one point on him for that one. He must've forgotten that she uses these small, sharp and shiny throwing weapons in her fights. It was almost like the element of surprise, but she probably wouldn't be able to use it against him again, unless she would be able to hide. It seemed that her mate didn't like that, so while she was smiling at the hit, he went into action.
He ran towards her and then jumped into the air, moving his legs up. She immediately ran to her left, hoping to avoid his jump by side stepping it. Once she had run to the left, she had entered the forest. Now, they traveled through said forest to get here, and it's one of the reasons why Zahra liked it. There was forest around this cave so she could run and do whatever in it, while her mate would enjoy swimming inside the cave. Once she was in the forest, she could try to hide from him as well. His size would be more of a hindrance here than it would out in the open.
So, once she was in the forest, she immediately found some fairly large sized foliage and knelt behind it. She tried to keep perfectly still, using the shadows in the forest as a way to protect her against being found by her mate. She would sit in this bush and wait to see what he would do. If he would find her, she would then counterattack him in the best way possible. If not, this gave her a good vantage point to watch him and try to attack him when he least suspected it. Either way, to her, this was a pretty win-win situation.
Standing outside of the cave blood trickled down the side of Qaletaqa's face for a few moments staining his bright blue facial fur on the right side of his face. He kept starring at Zahra for a moment as he saw that she was still holding one of the throwing weapons and that she might have more hidden on her somewhere, but where was actually the question. Qaletaqa had no idea about where they could be and if his mate would try to aim for a most significant area. After thinking that through he went ahead with his assault trying to leap upon her and finish her off quickly on the ground.
However, that plan proved to be to one dimensional as Zahra reacted with considerable speed that was high above what she could muster when the both of them first met. Qaletaqa was paying more attention to how powerful Zahra had gotten right now then he was actually trying to prove he still remained the more powerful beast. For some reason he felt a twinge of depression at the thought of only caring whether he was the stronger of the two. He knew for some reason that it wouldn't matter if Zahra couldn't protect herself in a fight and that would leave him hollow once more.
Qaletaqa was expecting to see one of the tiny sharp objects moving through the air at him right as he turned his head towards the direction that Zahra had avoided him in yet saw that instead his mate was making a break for where the trees started to come more together. He didn't know really why a beast was running from a fight, but figured it was so his mate could be sneaky and fight in the shadows like she preferred instead of fighting like a real animal. Qaletaqa knew that whther or not he could hide in the shadows as well didn't matter his mate was better at it and if he lost sight of her he would probably be in trouble.
So while Zahra rushed into the forest Qaletaqa kept pace with her using his superior speed to make sure that she near got a certain distance from him. However, he knew that if that was all he did she wouldn't stop moving and the both of them would without a doubt get to tired to fight at their maximum and see who was stronger. Instead they would simply find out which one had the more endurance and Qaletaqa was pretty confident that such a thing still was his compared to his beautiful mate.
So after a few moments of getting into the forest Qaletaqa jumped up off the ground and onto a tree branch and then jumping from tree to tree grasping at their bodies with his claws and climbing while jumping from one to another in order to keep Zahra within his sight. Then as she stopped and leaned down by the large plant Qaletaqa stopped about ten feet from her location, but thirty feet above her location clung to the side of a tree with his claws holding him up as he peered down at her.
She was rather hard to make out and if he hadn't seen her stop he knew that he wouldn't have been able to find her. His breathing was a bit heavy so he took a moment to slow his breathing while Zahra looked over the area and would be given a false sense of security that she had lost her mate. His breathing back to normal Qaletaqa focuses his reiatsu as best he could into his fangs and claws making them as strong as he could and then pushing off of the stone he descends behind the bush his Zahra was hiding inside of. As he landed on the ground Qaletaqa swiftly swung his paws at the bush his claws cutting through anything in the path and if everything went according to plan Zahra would have three big claws marks on her back now.

Zahra was hiding in her bush, looking around to see if she can see her mate anyway. She didn't immediately see him, but knew that he couldn't be too far away. She started to sniff the air around her and flicked her ears, trying to pick up any random sounds that might be around that her mate could be giving off. She didn't hear anything, but she did smell something. She slightly moved up nose up and smelled him close by. She knew that he couldn't have been too far away.
She used her peripheral vision to see what was close to her. She was surrounded by trees and bushes, which made sense since she was in the forest. She knew that her mate was close by, but she needed to come up with something quickly before he decided to attack. She also knew that her stealth would help her greatly here, since she had black fur to help her blend in with her surroundings and she was stealthy to begin with. She didn't know how well her mate was with stealth, but she figured he wasn't as good as her.
With her senses, she could hear when something was falling towards her. She didn't know exactly what, but she knew that it could only be her mate. With her high instincts, she immediately side stepped over to the next bush right before he landed. So, when he would land, he would start to attack a bush that was no longer her hiding spot. When he landed and attacked, she would use her speed to run up behind him and push him hard, trying to force him on the ground so she could claw at his face and body.
Qaletaqa dropped from he height hat he had been at attached to the side of the large tree down towards the bush that he had seen his mate walk inside of and not leave. He knew that for the moment she was hiding herself inside oft he bush and more then likely awaiting him to walk by looking for her without any kind of way to find her. She would be correct and that would have been a very bad situation for him so he was quite pleased with himself that she was now his prey.
Right when Qaletaqa's bottom paws touched the ground his weight all went down on his toes yet his strength was enough to support him easily. In the following moment his front paws swung forwards and slashed through the brush of the bush cutting it to pieces. sections of the bush would suddenly fall tot he ground below as Qaletaqa's claws now lengthened and sharper than ever cut through them as if they were being clipped by shears.
It was after about three swings of his arms though that Qaletaqa realized that he felt nothing o heavy resistance and couldn't see or hear Zahra. He stopped and for a moment could now peer into the bush with sections of it gone to see that Zahra in fact wasn't in the bush anymore. Yet how couldn't she be he had seen her hide inside of it. He was confused for a moment and then just as he took a step backwards his mate slammed into him on his left side.
Qaletaqa was knocked off his paws by the physical strength of his mate who he knew now was far more powerful than he was at the moment. As his body hit the ground he started to move only to find Zahra on top of him and her paw coming down at him. Qaletaqa only had a moment to do anything yet his somewhat quick thinking made sure that just as Zahra was clawing down the right side of his face his right paw would hopefully dig into the flesh on the side of her stomach.

Zahra smiled at herself while she felt and saw that her hit went home. She felt his feet leave the ground while she continued to push on him hard, wanting to drop him straight to the ground. Once he landed, he was flat on his back, looking up at her while she grinned down at him, showing all her teeth. She moved her right hand towards his face, claws out, trying to get him in the face, while her left hand was grabbing one of her throwing knives from her leg sheathe.
It was then, using her senses, she felt his hand move, moving the air next to her side while he tried an attack on her. With her high instincts, she was able to move quickly. Without really thinking about it, instead of actually hitting his face, she planted her hand on the ground right next to it. Right when she planted it, she pushed off the ground with both of her legs, allowing her to angle upwards towards her right arm during the ascent, missing the attack.
While she moves upwards, since her left hand is still near her leg holding a knife, she quickly slashes towards her mate's face with it, trying to hit him square in the face. After the quick swipe, using all of her strength, she would push off of the ground, flying upwards in the air, aiming for one of the many tree branches that were above them. While in the air, she would naturally rotate her body, having her head facing up towards the tops of the trees. She would grab a tree branch easily, pulling herself up in the tree and climbing higher, attempting to hide again.
Being knocked down onto the ground by his mate wasn't something that made Qaletaqa surge with pride as any male would at that moment he was rather surprised and emasculated by the fact that his mate was physically stronger than him now. One way or another though Qaletaqa still had to use every bit of his skills and speed to gain the upper hand against her. As her right paw come down at him Qaletaqa was moving his right paw at her waist ready to suffer the pain of his face being claws for the exchange of inflicting damage back on her.
That wasn't how it played out though in the moment that Qaletaqa was expecting to feel pain surge over his face nothing came instead he heard the sound of her paw hitting the ground right next to him as then saw her begin to rise up. He had an idea of what she might do from the higher point while utilizing her superior strength. At the moment he didn't have any real advantage expect one thing that always gave him a sense of pride. As his mate went down towards him with one of her tiny toys he raised his arms causing her forearm to be stopped by both of his at once.
The block would be just enough to keep her knife from slashing him, but in all reality his forearms had been hurt more than hers would have so this next moment he had to make count. Qaletaqa began to move his body in multiple ways at once his left paw curving around his mate's arm that was holding the knife. In the next moment his claws would hopefully dig into the flesh of her forearm. His plan was to dig all four of his claws into her flesh deep enough that if she pulled it out she would suffer a grave deal of pain.
That wasn't the only thing though Qaletaqa still hadn't used his appendage that gave him the most pride. It wasn't his claws and whether his mate felt differently or not it wasn't her favorite appendage of his either. His tail had been moving up from underneath him and now was ready. Just prior to his mate planning to jump upwards Qaletaqa's long tail would wrap up around her right back leg and begin to squeeze. His tail covered from her ankle up to her upper thigh meaning virtually her entire leg was being squeezed while he planned to dig his claws into her forearm.
While Zahra was sure that her flip would be able to work against her mate, she was wrong. She was smaller than him by a fair margin, in both weight and physical size. She just didn't take into account her mate's instincts or senses. She was quite surprised that he would immediately go to grab the forearm of the arm that was getting ready to try to strike him in the face. Though, he probably wouldn't like the outcome of that one action.
Her first instinct when he grabbed her was to just stab downwards. Since both of his hands were occupied by her forearm, using her superior strength, she would immediately push her arm down. Since her weapon would still be in her hand, it turned into a stabbing motion. She would want to push down to try to shake the hands free. She would've done that, except something else had come to get her that she had also forgot about.
His tail. Since hers was shorter than his and didn't function in the exact same way, she never really thinks about it. But now, in the middle of her flip, she wasn't expecting his tail to do anything. Because she wasn't expecting it, when the tail actually grabbed her, she was surprised, her instinct would be to struggle, but she knew that it wouldn't really help her in the long run. She was already pushing down, trying to get her arm free.
So, since she was grabbed mid flip, she was now perpendicular with the ground, completely upside down with her right leg grabbed with his tail and she was trying to push down with her left hand, which was still holding her knife. She thought quickly before he could too much to her. She started to feel the squeezing on her leg and knew what she had to do. She took a deep breath, feeling the power in her throat and roared right in his face.
Of course, all of these actions happened at the same time. So, right after he grabbed her, she stabbed downards and roared right in his face. She had never used this technique before, but she figured being at point blank range, she wouldn't be able to miss with it. The technique she had just used would have Qaletaqa confused and disoriented. She hoped this would be enough for him to loosen his grip so she could complete the flip, pushing off with both hands now, to land up in the trees to hide herself.
OOC: Remaining Reiatsu: 660/810 -150 for Howlrazer. He doesn't get the full effect since the she doesn't meet the criteria (only an 81 on power), but the disorientation and confusion does take hold.
Qaletaqa was on his back and could feel the fur of his mate on his tail as it wrapped around her leg. In the next moment he felt his mate try and push off of the ground in order to get away from him. Somehow though Qaletaqa was able to keep her from doing so and now she was in the air off of the ground, but not giving up at all. Qaletaqa could tell based on her actions that this wasn't over and she was bringing her knife down on him now with her strength and her weight.
Qaletaqa reacted purely on his instinct to survive and pulled back on her leg with his tail while pushed her backwards with his paws actually keeping her knife from moving all that much and getting to him. However, in the next moment he heard something from her like she was going to try and intimidate him. However, she opened her mouth and the next thing Qaletaqa knew he felt incredible pain in his ears and everything started to get much more difficult.
His hold of his mate faltered and in the next moment she was able to get away and into the trees so that she could hide once more. Qaletaqa was having difficulty actually getting back up for a few moments. He was still on his back after his mate had managed to get away and now that he was pushing himself upright he realized that his head was pounding and everything seemed to be shaking from place to place. This wasn't good and he knew it Zahra had used some technique on him which would make it difficult for him to maneuver correctly.
However, at the same time she wasn't in sight now and Qaletaqa knew that this effect more than likely wasn't going to be present for very long. Standing up yet swaying slightly as he got his footing Qaletaqa brought his right paw up to the side of his face. He touched the part of his ear that had been cut by Zahra's knife just when he had left the cave the two of them lived together in. Moving it in front of his face Qaletaqa grinned playfully at the fact there was no blood.
Qaletaqa was quite good at healing from damage and it seemed that the wound itself had already closed shut. While he did feel a slight amount of pain from touching it he knew that the wound wouldn't play much of a role now in this battle unless he allowed such a thing to be used against him which wasn't going to happen if he could help it. He had the feeling that he could outlast Zahra through damage the problem was inflicting it on her.
In the next moment though Qaletaqa smelled something metallic and looked down at his left paw. There on his claws was the crimson liquid of blood. His claws had managed to puncture Zahra's forearm which meant whether or not she had been successful in making it difficult to see straight she too was now injured. Qaletaqa continued to grin widely favoring the injuries at the moment. Zahra needed her arms far more than him when it came to battle and so far the biggest harm that had come to him was to his ears.
Qaletaqa looked around trying to figure out which tree Zahra had jumped off into yet nothing stood out. There wasn't much to go on and Qaletaqa knew that sooner or later she was going to try and throw one of her knives at him again. Wherever she was hiding though the moment that she attacked him he would know at least a general idea of her location. Not to mention he was faster than her whether she was stronger or not and he had confidence that as soon as she made her location known she was as good as prey.
So, Zahra was sitting in the tree, trying to figure out what she could do. This was honestly the first time, in the history of ever, that she had gotten the advantage in a fight between her and her mate. He had always been the stronger and faster of the two, but she know knew that she was the stronger one. He still had his speed, but she needed a way to try to keep her upper hand. It was something she might not get again.
She watched as he was still confused and dizzy while she looked around the tree she had jumped up into. She didn't want to risk too much movement, in case he would notice her. Due to her dark fur and ability to hide, she had a good advantage, but it did nothing if someone could spot her and run faster than she could. She needed to think of something quickly and in a way that, hopefully, he won't notice.
She took out one of her knives and looked around the base of the tree. She saw a few places that might be able to hide her, so she started to make her move. She looked towards her mate and immediately threw her knife as hard as she could. The minute that the blade left her hand, however, she jumped down and landed in the shadows behind the tree. She then started to move through the bushes that were by that tree to move deeper into the forest where there was more foliage to hide behind.
She hoped that the knife that she threw at him would distract him enough that he wouldn't notice her as she moved through the shadows. She knew that her black fur would help her to blend in but her mate was crafty. She kept moving deeper into the woods until she was about six feet away from her mate. She took out two of her knives and readied an attack in case he followed her deeper in.
Continuing to stand Qaletaqa starting to move slowly forwards from the position that he had been after getting back up onto his back paws. Finding his mate was proving to be to much for him to actually manage. She had been practicing when it came to staying out of sight more so than himself it seemed. While he had been constantly working on making himself faster and learning new abilities she had been getting better at her skills.
This was something that Qaletaqa neither had been expecting nor enjoyed to be on the receiving end of. He was glad that Zahra more than apparently had become much more dangerous than when the two of them had first met. The problem was that now he wasn't sure if he was stronger than her. If that was the case than it would come to pass that she would have to save him if they were ever attacked. He couldn't accept that.
It wasn't that he didn't have faith in his mate to do so it was more than he both felt a need to be the one looking after her and protecting her at all times and that he could already feel his pride sinking at this troublesome realization. A bigger more potent lesion than anything else was that he had to work harder to get stronger and faster and better so that he remained the stronger of the two of them. So that he could always protect Zahra and stop the furless from taking even more of the Beasts land.
That was when suddenly Qaletaqa saw a blur of movement coming towards him again. He wasn't fast enough though and while he tried to evade to the side the knife that his mate had thrown at him still managed to imbed itself into his right shoulder rather deeply with the first three inches of the knife now in his think skin. Blood trickling down his fur Qaletaqa let out a savage howl of pain and anger.
He charged towards the area that he had seen the blur which he now knew had been the knife. He couldn't hear anything so he jumped upwards into the trees and from there started to make his way through them. He'd jump from one to the next moving deeper into the forest trying to find his mate or at least put distance between them. She had to many advantages where they were right now for him to actually win. That much was obvious even to him.
He'd stop after he had gotten roughly two hundred feet from where he had first jumped into a tree and now tried to keep his presence secret so that his wounds would close. He was a naturally gifted healer when it came to Beasts. He leaned forwards on the thick tree branch that he was on wrapping his long tail around it. At that point he allowed himself to fall forwards off the branch holding himself upwards only by his tail. He'd be upside down hoping that it would make both finding him and seeing him more difficult for his mate.
He grabbed ahold of the knife that was in his shoulder though and pulled the metal blade out causing more blood to leak from the new wound. After that he dropped it to the ground where it stabbed into the dirt. He touched his ear with his paw and found that the wound he had suffered at the start of this battle had already closed shut and was healing. He needed to find some way of hitting Zahra or else he wasn't going to be the Alpha of the two anymore.
