Qaletaqa moved throughout the wilderness with very little on his mind. There was really only one thing going through it at the moment. He was hungry and the only thing he could focus on was getting something delicious in his tummy. Living with Zahra was starting to getting to him. Prior to falling for her and the two of them becoming mates Qaletaqa had been a mainly herbivore now after living with her for awhile and her constant need for fresh flesh Qaletaqa had started to crave after it as well. It hadn't been that he never ate meat prior, but never as much as he did now and he didn't have the thirsty for it then.
At the moment Qaletaqa was hunting down what he smelled to be a small rabbit that was somewhere in the tall grass that concealed his approach. Qaletaqa was hunched downwards moving towards the scent of the rabbit slowly using his talents of stealthy movement in order to make nearly no sound. Even the fact that the grass was being brushed to the side by his massive form was barely even noticeable. He was no more then a few feet from him now and just as Qaletaqa lunged forwards in an attempt to grasp it and bite down the rabbit hopped away and began to rush to safety. Qaletaqa doing what he could followed after it yet the rabbit seemed to possess equal if not more speed and Qaletaqa knew he'd have to get it fast.
Nesr was flying through the air, like she did regularly. She watched people walk on the ground and never understood why walking was so appealing. It was too much fun to fly through the air to get everywhere. It was the only way to travel. She had started to write down things that she noticed in the area, trying her best to remember, especially other species of animals. Since she was trying to be her best for Horus, she kept on her best behavior and tried to learn as much as she could to report to him later, since he visited her dreams.
Well, she always thought that it was him that visited her dreams, but that misty figure that she would see could honestly be anything. It was then that she saw something move on the ground. She slowly landed up in fairly high tree branches. She looked down and saw another animal slowly moving towards a white thing. She looked at it and drew it quickly in her book. She remembered that it was supposed to be a rabbit. She wrote down the name under it, using hieroglyphics of course. She looked at it and her stomach started to rumble as well.
She figured, she should be able to catch a rabbit as well. She was curious, though, if he would be able to actually catch him. He sneaked in closer and then failed, since the rabbit started to hop away. Nesr quickly reacted. She divebombed down towards the rabbit. Once she was close, she let her feet point towards the ground, talons open to catch her prey. Once she was in range, she moved her feet down to catch it. Thankfully, it ended up in one of her feet. She landed close by to peck it to death before started to slowly eat on it, in plain view of the other beast.
Qaletaqa was in hot pursuit after the rabbit and was gaining ground on it. It was only going to take another moment until that nice piece of flesh was inside of his mouth. The idea of gnawing on the muscle covered bones was mouth watering and Qaletaqa was hungry the need for something fresh was pumping throughout him. That was until all his excitement and suspense for the taste was thwarted. All of a sudden a large bird like beast flew down and Qaletaqa saw how it gripped ahold of the rabbit and started to kill it.
He had lost the chance to eat something so fine as that just because he was having a little too much fun chasing after it. He wasn't happy though that this bird had the nerve to take his meal. Looking at her he knew it was a female. Like most of the other beasts he came across though this one looked young or at least not experienced in actual battle. It wasn't an insult or anything really Qaletaqa was actually pleased most of the time knowing that beasts were having to fight against Shinigami so long as they stayed in the wilderness.
What he didn't like though was knowing that in time all of them were going to lose their territory to the Shinigami. The only way to keep the wilderness as such was to grow strong enough that the furless wouldn't be able to take anymore of it away from them. Qaletaqa was getting stronger and so was Zahra, but even he knew the two of them alone no matter how strong they would become couldn't take on the thousands of furless. He needed to start making the other beasts strong too in order to keep what little they still had as theirs. Qaletaqa starred at the bird for a few moments while she swallowed the rabbit. "That was . . mine bird."
Nesr was happily eating the rabbit she had just caught when she noticed the other beast. She barely paid attention to him while she was eating. That is, until he actually started to talk to her. She finished swallowing her bite of rabbit when the beast claimed that the rabbit was his. She looked at him, then quickly looked down at the rabbit. She grabbed it in her hands and turned it around in them, looking for something. She then ripped another piece of flesh off of the body of the rabbit before turning back towards the beast.
"Nesr see no name on rabbit. Nesr think not yours. Nesr think rabbit anyones." She went back to ripping more pieces of flesh off of the rabbit. Since she saw nothing that resembled a name on the rabbit, at least a name she could recognize, she didn't see how this rabbit could've been his. The rabbit was free for the taking, and that's what she did. She freely took it. She ate a few mouthfuls more of the rabbit while looking at him. She was rather curious about what he actually was. She swallowed more meat while looking at him, her head cocked to the right.
"Nesr not know you. What you? Who you? Nesr thinks look funny." What she said was true. She was curious about him because she had honestly never seen anything like him. This was also the second beast-clan that she had ever met, and this one looked nothing like the badger that she had met before. She still didn't know that much, but she was just curious. She did need to gather as much information as she could for when she met up with Horus again, which could be tonight or years from now. She had to be prepared.
