The Devil's Coin (NDE, PG-13 Quest)

This mission was going to begin falling apart very rapidly, due to a communications failure, and everyone's desire to try and Yolo Solo things. And while that might have worked during amateur hour, this was anything but that. These four were working for serious organizations, and the object in question was one of great importance. If they couldn't cooperate here, how on earth were they supposed to be capable of fighting evenly with Thaddeus, and all the figures that would wan to take the Coin from them later on?

Arashi, for instance, went to the dining room window, in order to peak in, just as Jak ran up to knock the front door, and Aevus took an aerial approach. All of their actions would've been better suited supplementing the other paths, but none of them chose to do so, and they would pay dearly for that mistake. But before everything fell apart, they'd all get some degree of information. As Arashi gazed through the window, he would see three people sitting down, eating dinner.

Thaddeus, the target, sat at the head of the table. He was of American descent, with black hair and blue eyes. Even in the safety of his own home, Thaddeus wore a tan suit with a black tie. He was drinking, a glass in his hand, and two empty bottles of scotch lying on the table in front of him. The two other people at the table were women, and hadn't been included in the dossier, and Arashi wouldn't recognize either of them. One was a young girl, no more than 13, with green eyes and brown hair that went down to her shoulders. She wore a bunny hat, and seemed to be loudly complaining about something, although Arashi couldn't tell what.

The final person at the table was a woman, in her mid 20's, who held her head in her hands, clearly frustrated by something. She had red hair, and wore a zippered sweater, despite being indoors, as well as a plaid skirt and black leggings. Arashi lacked the energy sensory to discern much about the inhabitants, but he could clearly sense incredibly powerful Fullbringer reiatsu coming from the group, most likely Thaddeus he would wager. This information was solid, but not worth the danger of the situation.

Aevus would see the three as well, and get an understanding of the layout of the house, glancing through all three floors, these three were the only people in the house. One thing that would be incredibly obvious was the black zone in the middle of the second floor. It was obscured from his X-ray Specs, which in and of itself was suspicious. From his vantage point above the house, he was in the best position to react to the chaos that was about to ensue. 

As Jak knocked once, Thaddeus' head turned towards the door, but the other two didn't seem to react. Aevus would notice his brow furrow, although there wouldn't be long to react. Asmoskon's arrow detonated a moment later, and Thaddeus burst into motion, taking the glass he had been drinking out of, and throwing it with considerable force. Not at the door, no, but at the dining room window. Without turning, he had sensed Arashi somehow, and due to the explosion, he wasn't taking any chances. The glass would fly at high speeds towards Arashi, and if he didn't move, it would shatter the window and most likely strike him in the head.

Thaddeus was out of his seat, and moving towards the hallway. "Fucking Christ, not again. Neala, go lock up the vault. Jess, stay here and stay safe. I'll deal with the dickbag who just broke into the rec room." He didn't seem to care about what just happened to the gate, and was more focused on the crash he had clearly been capable of picking out somehow. He was going to make a beeline for the stairs, and the red head was quickly rising in order to follow him. On the other hand, the little girl was still seated, and looking around confused. Maybe even afraid? It was hard to get a read on her emotions.

Meanwhile, Asmoskon had safely landed in the room, which appeared to be a break room of some sort. Now, the ground was covered in glass, but otherwise it had a nice, soft carpet. There were comics scattered nearby a beanbag on the far side of the room, and an old playstation was hooked up to a similarly ancient TV nearby where Asmoskon landed. He needed to move fast, as he would be capable of hearing the sounds of people moving up to the floor.

And, Jak. Jak's knock had gone unanswered, and so he'd been forced to kick the door down. The door had not been quite what he was anticipating, instead of leading into the kitchen, it lead directly into the dining room, where a young girl would be staring at him, worry in her eyes, her hands pulling on her bunny hat as if she could hide in it. She was in between him and the main hallway, at least for now. the entire inside of the room felt covered in Fullbringer reiatsu, Thaddeus must be an especially potent monster.

Peering into the room via the window, Arashi saw the dining room arrayed before him. There was Thaddeus, at the head. Looking at the bottles of whiskey in front of him, Arashi was more than a little hopeful. If he had been drinking, especially that much alcohol, his reactions would be much slower, as well as his hand eye coordination. Seeing the woman and the child, Arashi felt a moment of guilt. He and the others were just going to barge in and break up this family? sighing, Arashi squashed the guilt under his guilt under his determination to complete the mission. While he may not like it, this was more important than any one family, the coin had to be destroyed... No matter the cost. Arashi didn't have much time to survey the room before everything went to hell.

A large explosion rocked the house, most likely Asmoskon. The moment this happened, Arashi lost any hope of dulled reflexes from Thaddeus. Immediately after the explosion, a crystal glass came flying at Arashi, who was barely able to dodge. He was not, however, quick enough to dodge the shards of glass from the window, which gave him a small cut on his cheek. Thankfully, it was below the eye, so his seeing wouldn't be impaired at all.By the time Arashi had recovered, only a moment or two, Thaddeus had already left to meet Asmoskon. Jak was kicking the door down, and the woman was heading towards the vault. Making up his mind quickly, Arashi devised the best course of action.

Jumping through the window, Arashi's first action was to go to the child, Jess. Kneeling down in front of her so as not to scare her, Arashi put on his best smile. "I'm really sorry about this. Jess was it? That's a very pretty name..." After trying to reassure her, Arashi continued, "Listen, Jess, We don't want to hurt you or your family, especially not you, I want you to find a safe place to hide in while we figure this out, okay?" As he finished, Arashi had a sneaking suspicion somethign was wrong, but he shook it off. His next goal would be to catch Jak, once he got to him, he would tell Jak his plan, and this time, he really hoped he would listen.

"Look, Jak, this isn't going to work, going in like a couple of berserkers. I know I'm not your superior, but we have the same mission, and we need to work together." Pointing in the direction the woman had gone, Arashi continued, "That woman was headed to the vault, probably where the coin is kept. Whatever she's going to do, I don't want it to happen. I need you to go stop her, and retrieve the coin if possible." Sighing in frustration Arashi huffed, "While I might not like the arrogant prick, we can't afford to lose people this early, I'll go tto support Asmoskon against Thaddeus. Deal?"

[Jak Halcom]

When Jak's foot met the door, it burst open violently. Jak rushed into the room expecting to find a ketchin, but was confused when he was in a dining room. Damn I picked the wrong door, Jak though irritatedly. He looked around to see that besides a girl, the room was already empty. He had heard the breaking of glass just as he was kicking in the door and hurried footsteps. That stupid Quincy must have given them away.

The sight of the terrified girl brought Jak to a halt. He just looked at her. His crimson eyes locked on the girl. It suddenly hit Jak that they were assaulting someone else's home. Seeing the terror on the girls face brought back memories that he had been trying to suppress for many years. She had the same look when his home was broken into by shinigami and killed his mother. History was not repeating itself, only this time...

"No, this can't be right." Jak said is a whisper. "This is just like before...it can't be...I can't be like them!" The shinigami that had entered the room with him brought him back to the situation at hand. He seemed to be trying to comfort the child. Jak's eyes hardened as he turned down to face the hall the woman ran down when the shinigami addressed him. Jak clenched his teeth and his fists when he did so. His anger suddenly flaring. This would also make his arm glow even brighter.

"Look, Jak, this isn't going to work, going in like a couple of berserkers. I know I'm not your superior, but we have the same mission, and we need to work together. That woman was headed to the vault, probably where the coin is kept. Whatever she's going to do, I don't want it to happen. I need you to go stop her, and retrieve the coin if possible. While I might not like the arrogant prick, we can't afford to lose people this early, I'll go tto support Asmoskon against Thaddeus. Deal?"

Zeferoth turned and glared at him staring daggers right through him. If his glare could kill, that shinigami would have been killed several times over. "Go save that bastard Quincy for all I care Shinigami, and you are wrong about one thing. We do not have the same mission. You just happen to be here when I was." With that Jak ran down the hall as fast as he could. He was focused on the coin. That simple coin may be the link to the answered he has been searching for.

[✠Asmoskon Masurao✠]

Asmoskon landed through the window and rolled onto the flooring of the room above the dinning room where Thaddeus and the others had been located. When he landed in the room and got back onto his feet Asmoskon realized that something was off. He then heard the sound below of a door being kicked inward and knew that either Arashi or Jak had gotten it into their head that this type of mission was something they could handle. Asmoskon knew the abilities that Jak possessed and based off that knew that this type of situation would only benefit from his presence if a full scan battle ensued. Asmoskon would have to have a speak with Kazura after this and speak with his friend about providing better suited accomplices.

He knew that Thaddeus would be on the move now the only problem was that due to his lack of energy sensing Asmoskon wouldn't be able to pin point his location. That would have been the case anyway due to the explosion that he had caused, but that had held a plan this break it went against that plan and now everything was falling apart. The explosion would have brought them to a secure location more then likely together now that the building was being broken into with their knowledge Asmoskon couldn't say what Thaddeus's plan would be the only thing that mattered was getting the coin.

Asmoskon rushed from the dark room into the hallway of the mansion which was well lit and very long. He rushed down to the left side ready to turn at the next corner when he suddenly stopped. He stood there for a moment as the hair on the back of his neck rose up signaling that something was wrong. His instincts told him that there was a problem and he needed to face it. Asmoskon slowly turned around and saw that two individuals were now in the hallway at the other end facing him. One was a large man and the other a female. "Thaddeus just give me and coin and me and the others will leave. No harm has to come to you or the others. Think of what you have not what you might be able to get with the coin."

Two sapphire eyes gazed through the walls like they were the surface of the water. It was like staring through a hollow lens, he could see almost everything from up here with perfect clarity. ‘Heh these things really did come in handy after all. I suppose they were worth the price for how expensive they were’ He would chuckle to himself at that for he was rarely a big spender of anything at all. Living on the streets of the 78th district really gave him an opportunity to understand those less fortunate than himself.

A mere house back than was a mansion to the pale faced reaper, even a shack to him was something he would compromise with easily. A stealthy teal eyed girl would stare at him through that memory faintly unnerving the man for a second or two. Her unbroken smile feigning innocence as she gazed upon him with a look of endearment. She had deserved much more but life is a cruel thing and it takes pity on no one, why should the after life be any different? The draft from this distance wasn’t much different from the ground and Aevus felt much comfort in having the high ground at the moment.

His companions like him had seemed to decide to act independently of each other all going in separate directions. The Demon naively going to the front door, the Shinigami looking through a window like a peeping tom and the Quincy through a window like second rate criminal. He would spot a family of three sitting down eating dinner. One must have been Thaddeus the other two well he had no idea. A woman and a little girl is all he could gather from his view but they could potentially be dangerous.

From his run in with a demon child and a quincy general, children being more than they appeared was starting to be a natural occurrence for him. He knew not to underestimate an innocent face, especially not that of a child’s and he would attempt to not to fall for such a ploy ever again. "It’s the kit- the er little ones who’ll snatch your coin purse when you aren’t looking.” Aevus thought upon a distant memory where he was much like a child still learning about the world around him and a peculiar cougar helped him get on his feet.

Her Emerald lined predatory gaze still fell over him from time to time. He could hear her hiss and nag at him whenever he made a mistake with his footing or just doing daily tasks in general. A lot of her teachings still stayed with him, it was her who taught him to be nimble and swift upon his two ‘helpless’ feet. He would never have survived this cruel world without her guidance. He owed a lot to that peculiar cougar, she remained unnamed to him even to this day yet it was her who had given him the strength to remember his own.

As Aevus scanned each room, he had noticed something odd about the second floor. He could see through every wall except for one. It must have been a vault of some kind, perhaps where Thaddeus had hidden that damn evil coin of his. Why exactly did a human have such an object to begin with? Aevus could only pounder upon that very thought for a time until everything began to fall apart at the seams. From the crash above that the Quincy had made,

Thaddeus had taken action throwing a crystal glass towards the window where Arashi was peeping into and ran up the stairs with the woman, leaving the little girl with both the Shinigami and Demon. Aevus had little time to act but witnessed the Shinigami trying to comfort the child and also trying to talk to the Demon, perhaps even reason with him. That was the last he saw of the two as he swept through the closest window to the vault, tucking and rolling as he did so making sure to lessen the damage upon himself as much as possible. Glass scattered across the floor as he would catch himself with both hands in a squatting position.

His eyes quickly adjusted to the light around him as he peered around. He would attempt to avoid Thaddeus and the woman as best he could, his breathing light and his body remaining to the shadows for the time being. He wasn’t here to deal with them, no it wasn’t them he was after but the coin. He would begin to feel his way through the darkness, attempting to find a door or something well anything that would aid him in his endeavor.

(Wow, took me a little over a week to post. Apologies. Shouldn't happen again)

As Asmoskon stepped out into the hallway, simultaneously Aevus would break in through a different window, and start to search the house, making his way towards the vault. At the same time, Jak and Arashi were having a brief conversation in the dining room. The mission wasn't a failure yet, things weren't going entirely according to plan, but they weren't off the rails either. Things were under control, but then again: no plan survives first contact with the enemy.

As Asmoskon spoke to Thaddeus and his bodyguard, Thaddeus groaned. "Really? You're giving me a 'go appreciate what you have' speech after you break into my home and blow up my gate? Fuck off. And tell Satsujun that he can eat a dick, he's not getting the fucking coin." He turned to his bodyguard: "Neala, seriously. Make sure the vault is locked up. We have no idea how many of these guys are running around."

But as Neala and Asmoskon met eyes, recognition would dawn on both of them. "Oh, fuck me. Asmoskon, what the shit are you doing here?" This would be the first time in years, close to six years actually, that the two had met, or spoken. The last time was at a family reunion. Before they had a chance to catch up, however, Thaddeus barked "NEALA! VAULT!" "Right, sorry. On it. Please try not to kill him, alright?" Asmoskon couldn't tell whether that request was directed at him or at Thaddeus.

And with that, Neala vanished. Like, dissapeared into thin air. It wasn't hugely surprising, Asmoskon knew her training, knew her specialty. Neala was an assassin of the highest caliber, she could likely work as an Xcution Seven Guns if she had any interest. But instead, she chose to be a private bodyguard. He hadn't known that she was working in Vegas, however, otherwise he would've put two and two together. It didn't really matter anyway, however. There was a more pressing issue.

Thaddeus cracked his neck, and twirled out from his right sleeve a lovely, elegant looking clockwork pen. With a flick of his wrist, and a small surge of reiatsu, the pen extended, transforming into a rapier, with a heavy stylized guard. He hadn't released yet, that much was obvious, but had still Fullbringed his pen into a combative state. All Fullbringers could do this, but few did. Most simply just released and fought directly like that. Thaddeus wasn't most Fullbringers.

"Draw a weapon, I'm a duelist, not a murderer."

Aevus found his way to a long hallway corridor, with irregular, darker than normal lighting. His gut told him that he was going the right way, as he slowly made his way throughout the house. This bode well for the most part. So far, he hadn't sensed any trouble. But now that he was in the hallway, he became very aware of how vulnerable his position was. The hallway was relatively long, badly lit, and the door at the end of it had a keypad attached.

He hadn't gotten more than halfway down the hallway, however, when he'd hear a very quiet 'pthf' noise coming from behind him. He had less than two seconds to react, and if he ducked or otherwise moved his head, an arrow would fly right through the place where his skull had occupied a moment before. As he turned, he saw a woman, the woman who had originally been in the entry room, standing at the other end of the hallway. But despite the arrow that was launched, she had no bow in her hands.

At least, not one that Aevus could see.

The remaining two operatives hadn't encountered combat. In fact, their primary fight was between themselves. As Arashi landed in front of Jess, the girl began to tear up slightly, as if very scared. Arashi's attempts at comforting her had no apparent effect, and may have even made things worse. None the less, Arashi approached Jak and tried to talk strategy. However, Jak seemed uninterested in doing so, rejecting the plan in favor of pursuing his own rage.

He tried to run towards the door. Tried being the operative word there. He hadn't made it more than ten feet when suddenly his throat slammed into something hard. In a burst of motion, Jess had launched from her seat, through the air, in front of Jak, at 450 speed. This allowed her to clothesline Jak as he began to run, and would cause him to fall backwards, slamming into the ground hard. Her strength was superior to his own, although given her reiatsu, he could tell something terrifying: she was holding back.

Jess landed on the ground on the other side of Jak, and narrowed her eyes at Arashi. "I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF TELLING THEM ABOUT MY DAY AND THEN YOU INTERRUPTED ME! I WAS JUST GETTING TO WHAT HAPPENED AT RECESS!" Her voice was loud enough to almost deafen the Shinigami, and she reached down, picking up Jak by one foot, then lifting him up casually, and throwing him full force at Arashi. Things were about to get very, very messy.

Arashi stared in absolute and utter surprise at the monster of a girl standing across the room. This child held a man twice her size by the throat... It was extremely unnerving. Before Arashi panicked however, he calmed himself, placing himself in a place of absolute focus mentally; prepared for any eventuality. Thanks to this focus, Arashi was able to direct himself out of the way of Jak, who was being thrown at him. SImaltaneus to his dodge, Arahsi was already working on a counter, using his proficiency in kidou, Arahsi wordlessly used one of his favorite bakudou to buy time, 'Bakudo #61: Rikujokoro!' Six wide beams of light would slam into Jess's body from all sides, paralyzing her which, coupled with the cramped space, would make it very difficult to dodge.

That wasn't all Arashi had in mind however, even as his first kidou was on the way, Arashi was already working on the next. Chanting the incantation mentally, Arashi quickly threw out his second, stronger, Bakudou. Hopefully this would layer on top of Rikojokuro, making it exceedingly difficult to escape. If Jess had dodged the first kidou somehow however, this kidou would intercept her, ensnarling her in the bandages of energy. 'Bakudo #63: Sajosabaku!' With this counter manuever, Arashi called check, and, if all worked out as it should, would go to check on Jak, keeping his focus on Jess the entire team, prepared to throw out more of his specialty kidou against her.

"Jak, after this, we need to talk. This simply isn't going to cut it. Asmoskon and yourself are acting like a pair of children. Not to insult you, but it's true. The only thing I asked for is preffesionalism, I'm not trying to be the leader of this mission, or order you around... I just want all of us to make it out of this alive and successful. A lot of people are riding on this Jak... I need you, this mission needs you to succeed. So please, cooperate with me here..." Turning towards Jak slightly, Arashi gave him a pleading look. "Now, let's do this! I think it's time for you to pay this little brat back eh? You focus on the offense, most of my attack kidou are too powerful for this enclosed space. I'll focus on hindering her with bakudou so that you can deal the damage!"

Jak was too focused on the coin to really note or care about what was going on around him. Since the child was just that, a child, he didn't consider her a threat really. That quickly changed however when something slammed into his throat. Well to be more accurate, he slammed into it. His eyes widened on impact as he rebounded off the little girl's arm and slammed flat on his back. It took a little bit to catch his breath, but by then he was air born tossed like a rag doll by the girl. 

He hit the wall hard grunting on impact. He sat there for a while trying to recover from the hit. He looked forward almost blankly watching the shinigami fire his kido off at her. His thoughts went inward though as a wave of doubt came over him. How was he going to face this challenge? He couldn't bring himself to harm a child, not in their own home. Was he really turning into those shinigami that had taken his mother from him? Was he doing the same thing to this little girl!?

Arashi's voice then intruded on his thoughts. "Jak, after this, we need to talk. This simply isn't going to cut it. Asmoskon and yourself are acting like a pair of children. Not to insult you, but it's true. The only thing I asked for is preffesionalism, I'm not trying to be the leader of this mission, or order you around... I just want all of us to make it out of this alive and successful. A lot of people are riding on this Jak... I need you, this mission needs you to succeed. So please, cooperate with me here..."

Yes...He was acting like a child. He refused to work with anyone trying to shoulder everything alone. He let his anger and rage blind him to the risks that they were all facing, and which put them in this situation. If his mother could see him now, she would be ashamed for how he was acting. He only nodded though. He could not bring himself to answer the shinigami. He struggled to his feet though determination replacing blind rage in his crimson eyes.

"Now, let's do this! I think it's time for you to pay this little brat back eh? You focus on the offense, most of my attack kidou are too powerful for this enclosed space. I'll focus on hindering her with bakudou so that you can deal the damage!"
Jak nodded again as he walked past the shinigami. "Yes we will talk after this. I am sorry my stubbornness got us here to begin with, but now that we are here lets get things done right!" 

He ran as fast as he could right at the girl. His arm started to glow brightly until it burst into flames. He wanted to end this fight quickly. One hit, one hit and knock her out, so that they could move on and grab the coin and get out. He brought his right arm back and threw it as hard and fast as he could aiming for her jaw. If the hit was successful, not only the force of his punch hit her, but also the resulting explosion from the impact would her her as well.

As Aevus made his way through the web of shadows, he would remain on edge. His senses wern’t as keen as he liked but nonetheless he remained ever so alert. The lighting in the area fit nicely to his stealthy approach but he knew very well in this location he was a sitting duck to a potential enemy. The long hallway served little protection or cover for the the Shinigami and that added to his vulnerability. He could be evasive and quick though if the need had arose but as of yet to his knowledge no one even knew he was there.

Feeling up the hallways wall he would inch ever so slowly towards the keypad yet the hair on the back of his neck would suddenly rise on end. He would immediately halt suddenly as he heard something faint but rather ominous behind him. His head swerved in time just to feel an arrow whizz through the area his head was just occupying. His Sapphiric gaze would center on the woman he saw from earlier. A red head with freckles though she didn’t seem armed at the moment there was no doubt she was the one who let loose the arrow.

'A quincy’ Aevus would sigh to himself, his fingers launching to the handle of his sheathed Zanpakuto. She didn’t seem like she wanted to talk at all and Aevus didn’t blame her. After all he was an intruder to her and he wouldn’t even begin to attempt to try and talk his way out of this predicament. “Do not underestimate her.” Aevus had heard the wolf as his eyes traced the woman for a weapon and yet he couldn't see anything on her at all, possibly she had projected the bow or maybe it wasn't a bow at all.

'Don’t worry I wasn’t planning on it.' He wouldn’t give her another chance to draw her bow again and he wasn't about to underestimate the power of a quincy. He refused to fall for such a trick like he did last time and dealing with projectiles was quite a nuisance. Swiftly moving at full speed he would cast shunpo and as he was upon her he would activate Shunpo Karin as he unsheathed his blade reverse gripped attempting to rid her of her right arm before she could loosen another arrow.

Finishing his first and only real attempt to go about this mission by speaking to Thaddeus, Asmoskon ran his sight over the hallway. He listened as best he could while Thaddeus revealed that he was someone who in truth loved to hear the sound of their own voice. He didn't have anything important to say or anything with meaning for Asmoskon or his body guard to really get other then "No". Asmoskon normally didn't like this type of person and knew now that ending the man wouldn't put that much of a burden on his conscience for the next few days.

That was when Asmoskon summed up the body guard and just as she did the same to him. His gaze met along the gaze of the body guard and in that moment Asmoskon's mouth opened up slightly without thought. That was when Neala began to speak and Asmoskon's realization had been confirmed. The body guard was a member of his family. A distant cousin that Asmoskon hadn't seen in years and until right now hadn't been able to find. Well at least now he knew why he hadn't been able to find her. This was a problem though if she got injured or killed by one of the others Asmoskon would have no choice, but to make the squad even smaller.

Just as she started to run off towards the fault Asmoskon spoke. "Neala! Do what you must to keep breathing, but after I finish off loud mouth we're sitting down for a long over due reunion." So now with Neala gone Asmoskon wouldn't have to worry about hurting one of his own family members. The only person he had to actually focus on it seemed was Thaddeus. It was then that the pen came into view and Thaddeus Fullbringed it revealing its form. Of course he was a close combat type of person. Fate wouldn't want Asmoskon to have to easy a time and get sloppy so throwing in something difficult was always a good thing.

So now that Thaddeus had spoken again from which Asmoskon gathered that he more then likely hadn't used the coin yet. He stated he was a duelist not a murderer someone tainted wouldn't care so he had more then likely not used the coin as of yet. It was then that the pitch black longbow manifested in Asmoskon's left hand just as he was moving it in front of him. Practice makes perfect and Asmoskon had more practice in the use of a bow then most individuals had throughout multiple lifetimes.

All of a sudden there was a blinding flash of light that came from Asmoskon like he was a light bulb. He had flared his reiatsu and as the light shined throughout the hallway Asmoskon's right hand went to work. Not needing to see the placement of anything in order to get it right for that side was blind already. Asmoskon pulled back the bowstring to full draw his index and middle fingers touching the side of his cheek with three crimson arrows now held in the right hand. Asmoskon released his arrows and they flew down the hallway one above the other vertically perfect.

There was just something Thaddeus wouldn't know or think about due to the blinding light cutting off any hits he might have gotten from seeing the arrows. The two arrows that had been on the outsides were both blunt tipped from the usage of Schlinge Schuss. Now as both of those soared down the hallway if either hit Thaddeus the arrow would suddenly turn into reiatsu chains and wrap around him. That cuts off jumping upwards or dropping to the ground. The hallway was thin so clinging to the walls wouldn't save Thaddeus from the real attack. The middle arrow that Asmoskon had fired was now breaking apart and two separate arrows with a reiatsu string between them. If everything went according to plan Thaddeus wouldn't be able to see the attacks coming to begin with but if he tried to evade in any real way he was still going to be hit by something.

As the bandages and beams of light engulfed Jess, the young Fullbringer didn't seem particularly worried. Well, at the very least, worried wouldn't be the emotion that most people would use to describe her. Entirely engulfed in rage perhaps. Furious beyond all hope of salvation, maybe. But not worried. As Jak charged her, Jess' eyes began to glow, and with a roar, she flexed her whole body, bringing her arms upwards from the position that they were bound at.

And the kido fucking exploded off of her.

Even if Jak realized that engaging was a bad idea, he didn't have a choice now. Suddenly, it felt like all the gravity in the room was directed towards her, and even Arashi felt pulled. A constant force of 613 strength yanked on Jak and Arashi both, slowly initially, so that if they needed to prepare something to hold them in place they could, and then growing in strength with every moment that passed. It was as if suddenly Jess' reiatsu turned into a Gravity Well of some sort.

Now, it was obvious that she was going all out, and most likely couldn't sustain this for very long. But it seemed likely that it would be enough time for her to beat the two senseless, at the very least. As Jak rushed at her, fist engulfed in flames, pulled along now by Jess' own reiatsu, Jess thrust her fist forward, and a shockwave ripped off from it. The shockwave's force was overwhelming, and aimed directly at Jak's outstretched hand. In an instant, the fire was blown out, and Jak would feel as if his entire arm was dislocated. In the next moment, Jess was in front of him. She drew back a fist, and threw a punch directly at his gut.

If it hit, he was almost certainly going to die. Because she was throwing a punch of 1,125 force. More strength than Adalo De-Mona, the Primera Espada.

Aevus, on the other hand, was having marginally more luck with his foe. Getting inside of Neala's guard in an instant with Shunpo, Aevus quickly reached a speed that Neala had no chance of keeping up with. And then, to compound matters, he launched an attack that was too fast for her to even perceive, let alone react to. And yet, that obnoxious fucking grin never left her face. As Aevus' sword cut cleanly through her shoulder, severing her arm, she'd strike him with a counter attack.

Since Aevus was in the middle of a slash, and thus unable to pull back, Neala lashed out with her left foot, striking at Aevus' left kneecap. Normally, such a blow would hurt, but Neala activated a human world technique called Output right before the attack landed, which drastically increased the force behind the blow, increasing it to 200. Aevus' knee would break with a sudden and horrible 'crack' sound, and Neala would take that as a chance to step backwards, using her other foot, and reestablish distance between the two.

Using Hirenkyaku, Neala moved backwards at 3500 speed, along the corridor, reestablishing distance between her and Aevus. However, Aevus would notice something strange. When he cut off her arm, it separated cleanly, but with strands of blood hanging in the air, connecting it to her arm, for the instant before Neala moved. And when she moved, the arm moved with her. As she stopped on the other side of the hallway, the arm continued to float next to her, connected by strands, almost chains, of blood.

With a casual motion of her head, as if nodding towards her left side, her right arm quickly floated to her shoulder, and reattached itself. Blood momentarily poured out over the wound, before scabbing over, and hardening. "That's the best you got, huh? Damn, I was hoping you'd be closer to Captain tier." In an instantly, Aevus would feel arrows appear in his shoulders, one in each, and another one appear in his right kneecap, the non broken one. 

She was now holding a bow, but when had she fired arrows? Aevus must have missed it, but he had been looking directly at her. Maybe she could teleport arrows? Something was wrong here, and it was going to cause Aevus a great deal of trouble if he didn't figure it out fast.

As Asmoskon flared his reiatsu, Thaddeus chose to do the same. It smelled of oil, of industry, of progress, and had an oily black nature to it, although it jutted out in spikes. Thaddeus's reiatsu didn't blind Asmoskon, of course, although he realized instantly that it was bright enough to if Thaddeus had wanted. No, Thaddeus' decision to flex his reiatsu was clearly just a matter of dickwaving. He didn't like being shown up, obviously, and did his best to keep up in terms of appearances.

But, the arrows flying at Thaddeus were a legitimate threat, especially in such a tightly contained hallway. The arrows were layered on top of each other, and Thaddeus could tell a trap when he saw one. So what did he do? Well, he did what anyone with an absurd amount of cash would do: he slammed his hand into one of the walls, ripped a giant chunk out of it, and threw it down the hall back at Asmoskon. The chunk he grabbed was massive, and filled up almost the entire hallway. Thaddeus was terrifyingly strong, that much was obvious.

The arrows would slam into the chunk, and rip through. However, Asmoskon wouldn't be capable of seeing whether they connected or not, because now his view was blocked by a giant piece of the wall, now flying at him. He couldn't dodge it, but he needed to do something to deal with it. When it was maybe five feet away from him, however, the wall that he was next to exploded, showering him with debris, as Thaddeus emerged from it, launching a stab directly at Asmoskon's gut. Thaddeus had moved fast, after throwing the chunk, and used a step technique in order to dodge the arrows, and move through the room that the wall had been hiding, before bursting out of the room back into the hallway, this time behind Asmoskon. Asmoskon was flanked, and he had to react both to the debris flying at him, as well as Thaddeus' sneak attack.

Well shit... Arashi thought to himself as his rather masterful use of kidou was completely bypassed by the devil-girls outburst of power. He had put a lot of skill and effort into that combination, and had expected it to at the least slow the girl down. But NOOOOO he just HAD to be fighting a fucking freak of nature... Heh, alliteration. Anyway, instead of having a few moments to strategize, Arashi was instead faced with this clusterfuck. Thankfully, Arashi was able to calm himself, take a step back and analyze the situation thoroughly. What were the facts? 1. Arashi's kidou combination was rendered inneffective by what seemed to be an extreme outburst of power 2. Arashi could feel himself being inexorably pulled towards the girl, 3. Jak was about to have his face rearranged in a very lethal way. Arashi took all of this information in, calmly analyzed it, and came up with a plan of action in the blink of an eye.

Quickly using his skill in kidou, and mastery of Bakudou #63: Sajosabaku, Arashi flung out a cloth of energy that wrapped around a wall, simaltaneously, it also wrapped around his waist, anchoring him in his current position. At the same time, with his other hand, Arashi flung out another cloth, which wrapped arounf Jak's waist. Arashi proceeded to yank the cloth as hard as he could with his reitsu, pulling jak out of the danger zone. He then proceeded to anchor Jak to a wall as well, Giving him enough cloth to move freely, but not too much, so that he could hold onto it and pull in order to shorten the range, so that he wasn't pulled towards the girl.By this point, the girls punch would have either landed on the floor, or the sheer shockwave would probably require Arashi to put up his hands to protect his face.

Using this to his advantage, Arahsi masked the movement of him casting his next kidou, Hado #50: Mabarashi Dangan. Spreading his fingers, Arashi aimed two balls of energy, two Mabarashi Dangan's. Hopefully this girl had low energy sensory, and wouldn't be able to detect them. One of them would be aimed at the center of her chest, having the least probability of missing, and for the next, Arashi would use his skills in analysis to hopefully predict where the girl would move next. If she dodged his kidou, immediately moved to attack Arashi or Jak, Arashi would watch her closely, looking for muscle movement. She was too fast for his to predict normally, so he watched for the involuntary twitching of muscles, eye movements, and position of limbs in order to guess where she would move.

If she DIDN'T dodge somehow, and the first one hit, then the second would be right behind the first, striking her in her solar plexus, knocking the air out of her, and damaging her... Hopefully badly, but looking at this girl, Arashi could only guess what damage his fastest, and most precise hadou could do.

Jak was caught off guard when the girl suddenly broke free of the Shinigami's kidou. He then started to feel himself being pulled to her making him move faster than he was before. As he tried to punch at the girl, she thrust her arm out and a shock wave completely killed his technique. The fire engulfing his arm was out, and the force of the shock wave dislocated his right arm. Jak clenched his teeth in pain and clutched at his arm. 

The girl was right in front of him now. She was going to throw a hard punch to his stomach, which would most likely be the end of him. He then felt something else wrap around his waist. He didn't have time to look before he felt himself being pulled out of range of of her attack. Jak would push off with his legs to jump back to get out of there quickly. He would need to think of a way to do some damage on her without getting close to her.

"I got an idea, just keep her at a distance." He said to the Shinigami. He gathered energy into his right arm though it hurt like hell. Unlike the last attack, he didn't need to use it to strike anyone. He was calling forth something he didn't want to call on now. He still didn't have complete control over the technique, but he had not choice now. Once his arm was ignited again and extended his arm forward. "Dragon of the Demon Flame!" 

A column of fire burst out of his hand taking the form of a serpentine dragon. It opened its great maw and roared as it charged at the girl. It flew up and dive bombed her right from above, moving at speeds of 600. Jak was not sure if that would have been enough to defeat her, so he would keep the dragon around. If she dodged the dragon, the dragon would pursue her mouth flaming mouth wide open to devour her. If she tanked the hit, the dragon would circle around for another pass.

The Shingami would nearly drop as he felt his kneecap shatter from that mighty blow. Shock washed over his face as he staggered just to keep himself standing. With eyes wide open, he would witness the Quincy reattach her severed arm and mend the wound that he had just sacrificed his mobility to create. That look of surprise would not fade as three arrows impaled the unaware Shinigami. The force from the blow sent him rolling against the ground reminiscent of a stone skipping across a lake. His left hand held tightly against the handle of his Zanpakuto, he would use his right hand to pull out the arrow that was embedded in his left shoulder. A shooting pain overcame the young Shinigami as he tossed the arrow to the side. Blood began to soak the black fabric of his kimono.

Just from a single arrow being removed he felt an excruciating pain overcome him and he worried for what would come next, a heavy sigh left him as his fingers slowly brushed to the shaft of the arrow in his right shoulder. Calming himself the best he could he would remove the arrow, though he’d bite down upon his bottom lip easily piercing the skin and drawing blood. With the last arrow in his knee he felt himself nearly loosing consciousness as he pulled it loose.

Closing his eyes he would open them to the inner world of his Zanpakuto. “Aevus.....you are bleeding.” Lumina seemed worried her silver lined eyes locked on his blood soaked form. “Aevus, Lumina told you not to underestimate her.” She would leap to the bleeding mans side sending ripples throughout the cyan waters as she did so. Aevus would look to the wolf, his lips nearly parting when suddenly someone else would answer for him. “He didn’t underestimate her.” A voice fell into the clearing subtly yet it had both Lumina and Aevus turning to meet the golden gaze of a vixen.“He merely hesitated, needlessly restraining himself from taking down his prey and that was undoubtfully his downfall, isn't that right little hunter?.” Hollow eyes would glint keenly within the shadows at the edge of the clearing.

Lumina would snarl in the presence of the beast, her white hairs standing on end as she stepped in front of the Shinigami, yet her attention would return to the injured man as he spoke up. "Lumina, Don't..." The wolf would shake her head at that.“But why not? She is just a hollow and that Quincy, she was trying to kill you back there. What were you thinking?” A giggle would leave the vixen interrupting the wolf in her confusion. “My you aren’t as perceptive towards your master as i’d originally thought. He’s one timid hunter allowing his prey a chance to retaliate. My how chivalrous and foolish of him.” Aevus’s cold blues would pass away from the two as they spoke, the pain was simply to much at the moment only but a whisper leaving him. "That isn't it.."

“...Aevus?” The wolf would whine faintly as if begging for him to answer.“He didn’t tell you? His hesitance doesn’t only stem from that silly child’s dream but also a fear of drenching your virgin fangs in the crimson of his prey. The guilt was riddled all over his face, the night I revealed myself to the two of you under the pale moonlight of this twilight.” The shadowy vixen would reveal herself yet once more, stepping forth into the light of the clearing. Lumina’s ears curled back and her tail went limp as the vixen sheltered her form ever so closer while Aevus would close his eyes trying to drown out the Vixens words.

“But his hesitance endangers the both of us, our lives depend on this foolish little hunter. Yet he lets a silly thing such as guilt and a promise to a silly girl hold him back from his instincts.” The clearing fell silent as a blue bioluminescent butterfly flew over the vixens head yet with a snap she’d rip it from the sky. It would fidget in her mouth and a single wing would fall to the waters, sending a gentle ripple. “You mustn’t allow your prey a chance to flee. If you hesitate again, I will force myself upon you and this time your pet wont be able to thwart my advances.” With that the hollow eyed vixen would disappear into the darkness of the forest that loomed around the clearing.

Lumina would immediately move upon him, her silver speckled eyes full of fear, a plea would escape forth from her maw.“Aevus please, you mustn’t surrender. Do what you must, kill if you have too. Whatever it takes to survive!” Aevus felt as if his body would fall apart as he rose to his sandaled feet."don't shout..." With the appearance of that hollow, things wern’t getting any easier yet he felt the guilt from earlier wash away from him entirely as Lumina showed that she bore no ill will towards him killing to live and why would would she? He never once thought about how his reckless actions put her at risk and it shamed him to think and act so selfishly. She wanted to live just as much as him and yet something still held him back.“Whisper Softly, Umbra.” A wolfish head howled up the handle of his Zanpakuto, runic markings of darkened black covered the silver blade as he opened his eyes to reality. A long silver chain faltered forth from the pommel of his Zanpakuto fluttering freely behind him, a jagged end reminiscent of a wolf’s tooth. His black hairs would evoke a dark sapphire undertone.

Aevus’s tired cold blue eyes would emanate a cyanic glow and a look void of emotion would shelter within them as he cast his attention on the quincy. His right hand grasped the handle of his artifical Zanpakuto feeding it reiatsu (250) with the technique Entei.“Cast away, Mūnran'nā” As Aevus spoke a bright white light would emanate within the sheath of his artifical blade, the soles of his sandaled feet would also luminate within the darkness of that hallway, emitting the very same light as his blade. He was barely standing as he faced away from the Quincy and yet he was ready to end this fight.

In a single leap backwards, he would utilize Advanced Air Ground while at the same time activating the ability of his Artifical Zanpakuto. An ability that pulled him backwards at twice his own physical speed and three times his own physical strength by an invisible force latent in the reiatsu under the soles of his feet. Deactivating the technique he would shift his momentum turning swiftly still utilizing advanced air ground to glide himself across the air and that is when he would strike. Unsheathing his artifical Zanpakuto with his strength heightened by Entei (325) the pale face  reaper would aim to strike the broadside of the lit up blade into the Quinces left side. As he would activate Shunpo Karin (5400) for a second time and send forth the effect of his attack ahead of himself using Fatalibus from his shikai. Just in case he would mark her as well, ready to act upon a moments notice.

Asmoskon stood in the hallway watching as his triple arrow assault soared towards Thaddeus. The technique that Asmoskon had just employed weren't powerful enough that they would be able to take the man down. In all truth the techniques that he had just utilized were more of a test and distraction then anything that was meant to put a dent in Thaddeus. Asmoskon knew that the man held incredible power and that much was proven to be at least physically true when he ripped a section of the wall off and threw it at the arrows. Asmoskon's left eye went to work right away gathering the information that Thaddeus was physically a monster compared to him.

That was when at the same time though that Thaddeus suddenly disappeared. Asmoskon had just heard the sound of the human step technique yet there was next to time actual moment that he could do anything about it. The fact was that they were in a long hallway with a few rooms and that Thaddeus had suddenly just utilized a technique to boost his speed. He had the giant chuck of wall coming at him and that chuck had just stopped the three arrows he had fired. It was still coming for him yet was a fair bit smaller. The hallway put Asmoskon at a disadvantage and only through his experience and skill as an archer did he understand the best course of action to take.

Suddenly the longbow was gone and in its place was the pitch black short bow replica of the longbow. The bow in his left hand just as the longbow had been Asmoskon watched the chuck nearly reach him awaiting one of the possible outcomes to what Thaddeus had done. Asmoskon knew that there were three major possibilities to Thaddeus using his step technique. The first was that he was concealing himself behind the chuck of wall and would attack as soon as Asmoskon shot it or evaded it somehow. The second was that Thaddeus had gone someplace else in order to take out the others. Finally Thaddeus had moved somewhere else more then likely into one of the rooms at the other side of the hallway in order to just attempt a sneak attack or to access Asmoskon more thoroughly.

Asmoskon knew that if he didn't do anything within the next moment or two though the chuck of wall was going to make impact with him. He raised his short bow to about waist height and was prepared to fire when all of a sudden his hearing picked up something on the other side of the wall. In the next instant Thaddeus broke through the wall and through all the dust and debris was Thaddeus. Asmoskon knew that he had to go at this without holding back. All of sudden was Thaddeus moved his arm forwards attempting to stab Asmoskon the young Quincy moved backwards utilizing Movement. (1050)

As he did so his feet pressed against the wall and he utilized Hirenkyaku. (3,500) Asmoskon moved fast enough that he flipped through the air over Thaddeus and past him. There was a bit of a chance that the man would see him yet preventing what was happening was something else entirely. Asmoskon as he flipped had gone off his instincts and experience firing three arrows from the short bow aimed at Thaddeus. These arrows though weren't meant to test or evaluate his foe they were meant to cripple him.

The arrows were all fired nearly simultaneously after one another and all were aimed at different positions. The first two were set to pierce through Thaddeus's calves making it incredibly difficult for him to utilize step techniques from this point onward. The third arrow was a special shot that Asmoskon fired. Even if Thaddeus saw it coming which was next to impossible the arrow was set to curve from over his head down to the right side of his chest shooting through one of his lungs. Now the most lethal thing about all of this was that the arrows were moving at speeds many wouldn't believe. Asmoskon had utilized the property of the short bow to increase the thrust of his arrows while channeling his bracelet into all of them. (1,800)

Now if Thaddeus somehow managed to block or defend against the arrows he would more then likely still be in the hallway. That meant that the chuck of wall that he had thrown would impact him and not Asmoskon right as the young Quincy flipped into the hole Thaddeus had just created. Asmoskon had the feeling that even if all of his strategy came together though and Thaddeus was hurt he wouldn't stay down. So as he was just making it inside the hole into the other room his body twirled around making him face Thaddeus's back while he was upside down. Asmoskon then thrust his right hand outwards at Thaddeus firing off a massive arrow of fire that would impact him simultaneously with the chuck of wall.
