(Closed training for Siegfried and Shizuka)
The sun was just rising up and in Karakura town there only a few signs of life. A stray car driving through the city heading to work, a boy riding his bike delivering papers to homes. Only a few people were fully awake at this hour and Siegfried was one of them. Had he been in his room he could of seen the sunrise, however instead he was deep below in one of the training halls that Kazura had built for those in the spiritual department of his corporation. If anyone was nearby they could hear the sounds of Seigfried hitting something. Almost like clockwork one could hear the sounds of his gauntlets hitting a wall.
Siegfried struck the freestanding wall once more with all of his might, an echo of the clash vibrated out from the point of contact and filled the room. His breath shallow he held his fist there pushed against the wall. “Weak, my slumber hast made me weak. Train and train I do yet I yelled nothing.” Stepping away from the wall he let out a deep breath before looking around him. The room was entirely white, clean and empty say for the free standing wall he had been punching before. “Methinks this place tis not suited for training a knight. Mayhap the wilds are better suited for me.” Siegfried stopped looked around at the room around him, he stripped his helmet off of his head with his left hand letting it rest by his side as he headed for the exit to leave.
Pressing the button to the elevator he waited for the doors to open. He wondered how this doorway worked if it wasn't magic like he believed it to be when he first saw it. Someone told him that it wasn't a magical doorway that transported people to different locations, no it somehow moved people physically up and down when inside the small room. He had to wonder if there were actually people working ropes to lift the room with people in it. It made sense to him that there were some who's job was to pull on ropes all day long and that little odd button he pressed with small bumps on it signaled the workers to move it up and down. “To live life like that must truly be horrid, yet a serf can not say no to his lord, nor can a knight, we live to serve his majesty for his glory and honor.”
The doors opened and silently he stepped into the elevator and offered a silent thank you to those he believed to be toiling endlessly away pulling ropes day after day. As it started to move he leaned against the back of the elevator and pondered what he should do now. It seemed pointless for him to try to train more here in the building, it proved little results unlike before when he trained with his old mentor. That time spent was wondrous as he quickly became strong and was able to use his blessing with ease, now as punishment it seemed that his blessing had become dormant and he was unable to use it. Even he had failed and his blessing was revoked by god he would continue to fight, it was his duty to his king to protect his people from the demons that roamed the earth.
The doors opened and he stepped out of the elevator and into a hallway which held his room. As he walked by he knew that there were other people who lived here or at the very least had rooms here. His own was at the end of the hallway to the left, the room across from his was empty, but he hoped soon that there would be others there, others he could teach and protect just like his old mentor had did to him before. He entered his room and saw that it was as he had left it before he went down to train. His bed properly made and the rest of his room clean. He dropped his helmet by the door before closing the door to his room and stripping his clothing so he could shower off the sweat that had accumulated from his training below.
As the water rushed over him he let out a sigh of relief. To him the modern day shower was an amazing creation. To be able to bath each day whenever one cared to was a great thing, in his time this was reserved for only a king or a high noble, not a knight or a serf. Sure he had been able to bath before important events, but never daily like this before and without a limit as to how long he could shower for. This had be be a great blessing from his king and his wealth. The warm water falling on him caused him to think back to his past, to remember the nights he spent by a fire speaking with his fellow knights about their fights. He could see each of their faces and hear their laughs, the fire in his mind was so warm and real that he could even smell the smoke coming off of it.
The memory was so vivid and just as he was about to delve into more he heard a sound. From the real world he could hear an incessant beeping. It was wasn't very loud, but it was enough to take him out of his dream like state. Slowly he could see his memory start to fade as the beeping grew louder and louder in his mind. Soon the campfire and his friends became a blur as he opened his eyes and heard the beeping clearly. He closed his hand and pushed it against the wall, his head lowered water running over it. His memory had been shattered by the beeping of his alarm clock.
Stepping out of the shower still wet his eyes filled with anger towards the alarm clock. As he slowly stepped towards it his arms reached out and he grabbed it firmly with both hands before slamming it down on the metal nightstand that it was resting on. “You foul wretched thing, hast thee not learned thy home is not here. Thee hast cost me a memory most sweet. Dost thee not know I've already woke to greet the morrow.” As he yelled at the alarm clock he continued to slam it against his nightstand slowly breaking it until it stopped beeping. Once it was silenced he stopped still holding it in his hand. “Thee wilt be back next morrow and yet again I will break thee, dost thou not tire of this? Tire of what thy life is? Verily I do even if thy dost not.”
After letting out his rage he let go of the alarm clock and went back to the bathroom to grab his towel to dry off so that he could get dressed. He dressed in his normal attire which included his heavy steel armor boots and gauntlets along side his modern day helm that had been made to look like a hat. Clad in white and green he set out for the town, it was still very early in the morning and he didn't want to waste it thinking about the past. During these hours he knew that he could easily find some peace in the town given that most of the people were still sleeping.
Leaving the tower through a back door he started to wander around the town wondering what he would do today. Most of his time was spent either training or hunting down the hollows that plagued the town, he had no idea what to do in his free time. This world was so strange to him, at one point he asked someone who worked for his king what the common people his age did in this world and all that he got was a simple reply that they went to school and hanged out with friends. He was out of luck in both cases, schools were not needed in his opinion he had learned everything he would need to know from his training and as for friends... He had tried to make some with the locals around town during the day, but most seemed to be off put by the way he spoke and the way he dressed with the habit of calling him Arthur for some odd reason.
Still wandering the town he absentmindedly found himself at the edge of a forest. He was happy to see that there was a forest here so close to the town. With a smile across his face he dashed into the woods, how he longed to smell the woods once more. The scents of pine mixed with wet dew from the morning filled his nose with joy. As he stepped over the grass he could hear a few leaves crunch under his feet again a reminder of his past life. The woods were truly a great place to be, at least for him while they're peaceful.
Wandering the woods he started to notice that not even this place was spared from the grip of the modern world with bits of trash littered around the ground from time to time. Still this wouldn't get him down at all it had been too long since he had enjoyed the woods around him and he wasn't going to let a few bits of trash get in his way. As he neared a lake he heard a low growl that filled the woods causing the birds to fly away. It didn't take long for him to see what was the source of the growl.
He saw it before him, a dark creature with a mask to hide it's face. While most spiritually aware people would know it was a hollow he had been told that it was a demon by his old king and that was something that wouldn't change in his mind. The beast kept low to the ground and charged at him, but he wasn't afraid. From what he could tell this demon had no sharp edges nor claws only teeth to bite down his foes with, which meant that it had to get in close to do harm, something that he would take advantage of.
It was slower than him which meant that he could easily grab it. Grabbing one of it's limbs he forced it to the ground by pulling the limb up and away from the body snapping some of the bones in it's limb as he did so. The demon let out a cry of pain before spewing out an ink like liquid all over Siegfried and his clothing. Letting go he moved back trying to clear his eyes of the ink, that's when the beast tried to bite off his leg, however it's teeth couldn't pass through his metal boots. Enraged that the demon had gotten off such a cheap attack on him he punched the monster in it's neck repeatedly.
His blows kept hitting the beast in it's neck until it let go of his leg. The beast fell to the floor before vanishing from existence. Once more he knew had kept this world safe from the demons of hell, even if he didn't have his powers he could still fight. The woods returned back to their peaceful state Siegfried was about to leave till he felt a drip of ink come off of his hair and hit his cheek. The ink hadn't vanished after the demon left. Stepping over to the clear lake he went to see how much of his body and clothing had been covered in ink. He saw it, his white hair now stained black, his face looked as if someone had painted it. His clothing had the black ink all over his top half. “Even in death thee is a disturbance to I.”
Siegfried stripped off his coat, hat and his shirt he dipped them into the lake water trying to rinse off any ink that had gotten on them. Much to his delight the ink washed off with ease and didn't leave a stain at all. Grabbing his clothing he hung them on a nearby tree to help them dry off as he stepped into the lake himself . Stopping as the water reached his knees he leaned over so he could splash the water on his face to remove the ink. Just like with his clothing it came off with ease and so did the ink in his hair as well. It didn't take too long for him to rid himself totally of the ink. Just a few minuets after he had started to clean himself he was done, now if only his clothes would dry as fast.
Walking over to his shirt he felt that it was a bit damp, but not enough to cause discomfort so he put it back on, however it was a different story for his coat and hat. Both of them were soaked to the bone and needed time to dry. He let out a sigh and looked around for a moment. It seemed that the woods would be peaceful for a while and there wouldn't be people. Letting out a yawn he sat down against a tree in the shade waiting for his clothing to dry. As he waited his eyes started to grow heavy, he fought for as long as he could, but soon he passed out.
As he slept against the tree he started to recall an old memory, one of him and Alexia Endicott. The female knight who he had fallen for. His dream took him back to the first time the two of them went on a hunt. She had protected him and it was then and there his goal became to be strong enough to return the favor, but fate had other plans for him. No matter how hard he trained he was never able to match her and when she was chosen as the leader of the Holy Wrath he felt crushed, but it was at that time that he leaned her reason for being so strong. As he continued to live in the past in his dreams he had no idea how much time was passing by nor that there was someone else in the area now.
