Thread Title: A Not So Simple Walk Participants: Jak, seigfried World: Human World Death Setting: Non Death Enabled Rating: R Location: A cloudy night in the middle of Karakura Town. Special Conditions: N/A Circumstances: A walk at night is never as simple as it used to be anymore.
(OOC) Sorry for the lackluster beginning post, stayed up till 3 in the moring last night and only had like 4 hours of sleep.

Siegfried looked out his window and down to the streets below. For some odd reason he could not sleep this night. Each time he tried visions of the past came to haunt him in his dreams. There was nothing he could do about it, his mind was restless yet he himself was tired and wished for the embrasure of sleep to take him. Looking down at all the people walking around this late it made him wonder if all of them could not sleep either and they were roaming the streets looking for something to aid them in their sleep.
Putting on his clothing he exited the UE tower through a back entrance and went off into the night. Walking the streets he could see many of those infernal mechanical dragons sleeping next to the paved road that was meant for people. Passing by a rather small one he stopped to get a better look at it. He had never actually stopped to study one this close, given that they were always moving and during the day it wasn't safe to approach one that was resting given it's tendency to start up at any given moment. However now at night it was much different and he could get closer to the mechanical beast. He leaned in close to try to study it more however he leaned in too close.
Soon the night was filled with the sounds of the beast crying out because he had gotten too close. His eyes narrowed down at the thing filled with anger and hate. To him the sounds of a car alarm going off was in fact the battle cry of a mechanical dragon. To do so boldly to him in the middle of the night was a sign that it wanted to fight him. This was a duel and he was not about to back down from this unworthy creature. Given that it wasn't attacking yet he knew that the first blow was his and he would take it.
He punched at the beast's glass features breaking it with ease, his next strike was aimed to hit the beast in its hard side. A punch landed and caused a dent on it's side. Still no matter what he did the beast didn't move or strike back. It was mocking him and he wasn't going to have it at all. Taking his hands he slammed it into the front hard shell that it had. As his gauntlets collided with it the cries that it let out stopped and the hard shell it had bent up revealing it's insides. Siegfried managed to get a quick look inside, just like the outside it was all metal and it now appeared that it was leaking something under it. He had killed this beast, yet he didn't want to risk waking the others around him.
Quickly he ran off into the night to avoid the wrath of the other beasts or what he thought were beasts. He didn't know if what he fought was a child given how small it was, but he wasn't about to stand there and find out. After a while he found himself down a street that didn't have any other mechanical beasts there he leaned against a building to catch his breath for a moment. While wearing armor had it's benefits he knew that it would make him tired if he ran for long, however it being a mesh of clothing and armor allowed him to actually run father then he thought. There was a cool breeze through the empty street it was relaxing to say the least.
Jak walked around the dark streets of Karakura Town. He liked to take walks around at night. It calms him from the crazyness that he usually finds during the day. The streets were usually quite and empty this time of night. Most people are in bed sleeping to get ready for their next day of work or school. Even the hooligans that are usually out late are absent having spent all their energy causing mischief and trouble, so Jak figured that it would be a good time to take a walk.
The moon was bright despite being only half filled. He could see some of the stars through the bright lights that still dotted the large town. The cool wind blew against his skin cooling him with the exception of his right arm. In contrast to his lightly tanned skin found on the rest of his body, Jak's right arm is an angry red. It will glow brighter with intensifying heat depending on how angry he gets. It also seems to have a mind of its own sometimes, like there is something about it that fights with him for control. Around his red, hot arm was a length of heavy black chain that snaked from his wrist to his shoulder.
Jak stood at a tall height of six feet tall, and weighed one hundred and ninety pounds with his slim, yet muscled body. His black hair fell to the back of his neck, and kept out of his face. His eyes are a brilliant crimson seeming to burn with the fires of hell itself. He nothing on his upper body with the exception of a black leather vest, and a pair of finger-less black gloves on his hands with studded knuckles. His jeans were worn and torn from working in the gardens with dirt stains covering them around the knees. A pair of black and blue sandals covered his feet scrapping against the side walk as he walked.
He noticed that clouds were rolling in, and he hoped that they were just passing through. If it were to rain now, it would really put a damper on his mood. He was finally in a good mood for once tonight. Tough circumstances had had him in a bad mood, or even just plain depressed lately, but tonight he finally was able to find some peace with himself. He was able to smile a little bit and just take his time to relax.
Suddenly the sound of a car alarm broke through the silent streets shattering his inner and outer peace. He growled low to himself wondering who the hell was out causing trouble this time of night. It seemed to be coming from a few streets over. Jak was easily able to leap over the low walls of the allys and over fences as he rushed over to investigate what was going on. As he got closer, he started to hear the sound of metal crunching against metal. Someone must be upset, he thought with a slight smirk. He rounded the corner to see a guy in armor beating up a car.
Several questions went though Jak's mind while he was watching the armored man beat up the poor defenseless sports car. The first being what the hell did the guy who owned that car do to him? It wasn't any of his business of course, but he thought that it would put a bit of context as to why he was savagely beating it like it was a wild beast. The second question was, who the hell wore armor like that anymore? His first thought might be shinigami, but he knew several of them, and none of them wore armor that he knew of unless it was some sort of release of their swords.
The car was eventually silenced by the man. It was sort of a relief. All that wailing was starting to get on Jak's nerves to the point that he would destroy the car himself. He saw the man walking his direction. Jak thought that he might as well see what all the fuss was about. Once the man got within ear shot of Jak, Jak called out to him while leaning against the wall of a nearby building. "Hey Sir Arthor," He called referencing the Ghost and Goblins character he just thought of. "What was all that about?"
There was one person before him, a stranger standing before his path. Normally he wouldn't give a care to this strange man out this late. There were just a few people out and even less he cared about. He did not know this man personally nor did he really care to know. His king had told him that those who stay out this late are nothing but trouble and the way the man was dressed and acting furthered the notion that his king was right about those who walk the streets at night. If the man was looking for trouble or looking for some money he would not find it from Siegfried, attacking the lowlifes of the city was beneath him.
He wanted to ignore the man as much as he could however as soon as he got within ear shot the man spoke out loud. Calling him Sir Arthor, while the idea of being mistaken for another noble knight did please him somewhat, however it was not his name so he could not take the fame for his own. “Thou hast mistaken me for another. I am not Sir Arthor.” Siegfried payed no attention to the other comment the man said. By now he was close enough to see that the man had a tan, a telltale sign of being a common worker out in the sun. He had no reason to speak to a serf.
Still getting closer Siegfried would of missed it if not for one last glance at the man. His right arm was not normal. No it was far from normal, red like hot coals and a chain attached to it. There was no mistaking it at all. That arm belonged to a demon so that meant that it's owner was a demon as well.Still a good distance away he stopped and eyed the demon a bit more, looking at it to see where else something was off. From what he could tell the disguise of the demon was perfect say for it's right arm that could easily give away what it really was.
This demon worried him, for it to be strong enough and craft enough to appear as a mortal man meant that it had power. Up until now all of the ones he had fought were black and wore masks to protect their face. Some could speak, but most acted like mindless beasts, yet this one appeared to have the intelligence of a human. Mayhaps this demon hath not an idea of whom I am. I can not fight this beast as I am, yet I can not yield to it. I must fight it. His duty called to him to protect the city from a demon, he could not back down from this beast, just because he was afraid. No he had to fight to try to win for all of those living in the town.
Standing tall he looked at the demon in it's eyes and spoke out loud towards it. “Come hither foul demon. By my troth I will slay thee for the glory of my king Kazura. Thou hast thought the last knight was no more, but I still walk the earth, thee shall feel my wrath and thy will succumb to my strength for I am a knight of my lord and be his blade I shall, his blade is pointed at thee foul demon so what say ye? Dost thou dare to cower in fear like thy brethren or dost thou wish to fight for what little honor thee hast?” His deceleration of war was clear, or at least it was clear in English, old English. If the beast didn't know English then he would be left a bit confused by the ranting that Siegfried had just said.
Siegfried wasn't going to stand there and wait for the answer he was going to take action even if he didn't have any of his blessings to fight this demon with. He ran towards the demon at full speed, his arms were up holding a guard as he moved towards the demon. His attack was one that was simple to see, it was going to be a punch right to the face from the front. Even a novice could see the nature of this attack, but then again that was his plan. To trick this demon into thinking that he was going to strike his face.
Siegfried knew that he couldn't win this fight with his power alone, he had to resort to pulling a few tricks, the few that he had so that he could at least stand a chance against this demon. So when he was only a step away from the demon he used bringer light and flashed away. He reappeared instantly by the head of the demon to his left side standing on the air. With his leg extended to kick the demon right in the back of his neck. If this attack landed the metal boots he had on would hit the foe right in the dead center of his neck. It was a bold tactic and at the moment it was the only one he had.
If the attack did land he would push off of the air and land a few feet behind the demon. He had confidence in his plan, after all even if the demon had human intelligence there was always the chance that it was underestimating him and that's why it chose to show it's self to him. He had once underestimated a demon and that cost him his past, now he knew better and was ready for anything. This time it would be different he would beat this demon and take back part of his lost honor.
(OOC remaining reiatsu 580/630 -50 for bringer light)
The man in the medieval get up did not seem to get the joke. He responded as if Jak was seriously calling him Sir Arthur. Jak could not figure this guy out. If he was one of those guys that dresses up and act like their in the middle ages, he was defiantly taking the whole thing way to seriously. The way he was walking, and the way he ignored his question showed that he was not in the mood to talk. Jak could respect that. "Well sorry for the confusion." He said not clarifying for the missed reference, or if he was actually mistaking him for someone else.
Something about the man really caught Jak's attention though. It was the way he was looking at his right arm. Jak was used to people staring at it. They did that all his life, but something about him looking at it seemed off. He could tell that he knew it wasn't normal, but that was not what worried Jak. He noticed a flash of anger in his eyes. Jak sighed to himself. It seemed like a peaceful nights walk was really too much to ask for.
“Come hither foul demon. By my troth I will slay thee for the glory of my king Kazura. Thou hast thought the last knight was no more, but I still walk the earth." Jak crossed his arms tilting his head in confusion. What was this guy babbling about? "Thee shall feel my wrath and thy will succumb to my strength for I am a knight of my lord and be his blade I shall, his blade is pointed at thee foul demon so what say ye? Dost thou dare to cower in fear like thy brethren or dost thou wish to fight for what little honor thee hast?”
Jak did not know who this guy thought he was, and most of all that crap he sputtered out sounded like total nonsense to him. One thing was clear though. This guy was looking for a fight, and he was going to get one if he so insisted. This was all pissing Jak off more and more. "You know, I just wanted a nice night to take a walk, but then i run into you and you piss me off. You want a fight? Then come get one!" Jak was never one to back down from a fight.
At first glance the man did not have any weapons on him. He would have expected a sword or something out of the middle ages, but he appears to want to fight him with old fashioned fisticuffs. Though Jak was pissed off, he still had some scenes of fair play, so he would refrain from using the hidden blade on his arm, and the chain around his arm at least not as a weapon. "Look buddy I really think you should think about what you are doing." Jak said in one last attempt to avoid the fight. It was too pretty a night for this.
The man rushed straight at Jak with his hands up. Jak then saw the knight's fist draw back in order to punch him in the face. Did he think that such an obvious attack wou/ld slip by his defenses? Jak wondered with a bit of a smirk. Jak would rush at the man himself matching his speed. There was no need to show his true capabilities just yet. Jak was not going to let over confidence lead him to underestimate his opponent. He lost plenty of fights by doing that.
When they were close the knight suddenly vanished in a blinding flash of light. Jak grunted shielding his eyes from the sudden bright flash. His eyes were still used to the darkness that, it was more effective that it might have been during the day, but Jak was not about to be stopped. Instinctively, he used movement to move to the right expecting him to continue with his attack while Jak was dazed. Jak had faced that step tech before, and was not going to be caught completely off guard.
Jak was expecting to feel something from the attack that he was expecting, but there was nothing. When he recovered he turned and saw the knight had went behind him. He was more clever than Jak had first thought him to be. Jak would often use that same tactic to get behind someone, but he didn't think to use a step like that. Maybe he could learn that move from someone at the U.E. He was always willing to try out new moves in battle.
It was not Jak's turn to attack. Jak rushed at the man now that he was off balance from the missed attack. He ran at half his full speed and then used movement again to get right up into his face. Jak smiled as he quickly threw a left punch to the man's stomach. Jak put enough force into it to easily knock the wind out of him. If that succeeded, he would then pick the man up by grabbing both arms and then slam him down flat on his back with a little more than half his full strength (200 strength)

His kick had landed, he felt it clear as empty night sky. His metal boot had collided with the demon's neck at full strength, yet as he landed it seemed as if the demon was un-phased by his attack at all. This wasn't a good thing for him at all, given that at the moment all he had was his physical strength and his speed. His blessing torn from him by god and his abilities no longer existing besides the quick moment he was given he was helpless in a fight. His strength had failed him against this demon, the one thing he had left was utterly useless to harm such a beast.
For the first time since he came to this time he felt fear, not for himself, but for those that lived in this town. He could not harm the demon that was walking around pretending to be a human, he could not strike it down and protect the innocent lives of those that lived here. That is what caused him fear, his life was nothing, he was a knight by his own code he was ready to give away his life for his king so that others could live in peace, yet right now he feared that his death wouldn't do anything to stop such a beast from roaming the earth. He had failed his duty as a knight, he had failed his king in a simple task.
Fast, the demon was fast, he didn't expect it to be able to move so quickly after his own attack on him, but it was running towards him. He only had a brief moment to take a step back before he was hit in the chest. He could feel the air being knocked out of him with a simple blow. While it wasn't enough to break any bones he was taken back a bit, by the sheer strength of this attack. Now he knew why his attack before didn't do anything, the demon had a much higher strength then his own and was able to use it fully, instead of causing him to panic this made him excited, to face someone who was stronger than him in close combat was something to be happy about, if he lost his life here he would still have his honor as a knight, given that he lost in a duel of strength.
As the demon grabbed him by his sides, Siegfried already had an idea of what was going to happen, but he wasn't going to let it happen so easy. His arms were free given that the demon had grabbed his sides. With his free arms he moved them to grab at the demon's throat pushing his thumbs right in between the throat indentation with his full strength. Even if he was a demon having something push against the airway causing it to become blocked restricting breathing would cause a reaction. The longer he pushed against this demon's throat the harder it would become for it to breath if it even breathed air.
Even though he grabbed at the demon's throat it wasn't the only action he was going to take. His legs were free and in the air a bit so while he started to choke the demon he swung his right knee to meet with the demon's groin area at full force. If this abomination was to take the form of a man he would make sure that it would feel the pain that could be inflicted if one wasn't careful about protecting themselves. While he knew that it wasn't exactly the most honorable attack to use, right now he had the lives of all those around him to protect, one cheap blow here was needed for the greater good.
While he was being lifted there was a moment in which his head was close to the face of the demon, without thinking he acted. Tilting his head back slightly before leaning forward he slammed his forehead into that of the demons giving him what was called a headbutt. He head learned of this attack after watching it on the magical box. At the time he wondered the effectiveness of the attack given that it also seemed to cause harm to the user, but right now it was one other thing he could do to attack the demon while he was being raised up and slammed into the ground.
If for some reason even after all that the demon still had enough strength to slam him down on the ground he would land on his back. The ground under him would crack and he would feel the pain from the impact from the attack resonate all throughout his body. A scream of pain would be heard from him and echo out into the night. Depending on what was possible he would do different things. If the demon was still holding on to him he would continue to knee the demon in the chest yelling out at it. “Foul demon begone from this mortal world.”
If the demon let go he would get back up and stand upright looking at the demon in the eyes before proudly calling out to the demon. “Is that all ye has?” At that point he would just mock the demon before planning his next attack. Still recovering from the attack he took a deep breath in to regain his composer before he took one step back with his left foot. Shifting the center of his balance to the back of his body he made sure that he could quickly move if needed without setting off any alarms, but for now his action would be to move, no it would be a deceleration of war towards this demon.
“Foul demon thy hath thought it proper to be among the noble people of this town. Even thee strike me down I shall not allow thee to spread thy terror on those that I swore to protect for my king. With my last breath I shall defend his kingdom. I shall slay you one way or another for his glory. I will bring honor to my lord Kazura. Now come demon and face me.” Siegfried held his arms out ready to block an attack if he could see it come towards him. Either way he would stand firm and wait for the demon to attack.
As Jak picked his opponent off the ground, he felt air way closing suddenly. He looked down and saw that knight was trying to choke him. Before Jak had time to do anything, he felt the kick to his groin. He leg go of the knight and curled with a sharp intake of breath. He did not go down all the way. He closed his eyes as he cupped his groin trying to fight away the pain. He was now really pissed off. He was going to kill this guy.
When his eyes opened they were full of hate and anger. “Is that all ye has?” He heard the knight taunt. He would make that damned knight eat those words. Now come demon and face me.”
Jak slowly straightened up glaring at the knight. He was done fighting fair now. He gathered his reaitsu into his hand creating a crimson orb of energy. Using Caelumintro, Jak not only got up closer to the knight from the front, but suddenly would be to the side of the night even faster. He would shove the ball of energy into the knights side before he knew what had happened. The orb of energy would explode on impact no doubt pushing them away from each other.
But that was not the end of Jak's attack. Jak felt the heat of his arm increasing. Soon his right arm was completely consumed in fire. He rushed the knight again using moment to get behind him again. He wanted to take advantage of the damage done by his spirit bolt and keep the knight off balance. He will learn to fear the name Jak Halcom soon enough. Once he was behind him, Jak punched out with his right hand aiming right for the middle of his back with his Hell-Fire punch. Not only will he suffer from the initial impact of his fist, but also the resulting explosion of equal strength to his full strength.
While his actions were noble and his words held the truth it seemed as if the lord wouldn't help him stop this demon. Siegfried didn't have a chance to react to the speed that this demon had. Nor the power of the magic it held. All he saw was the blur of what was once the demon in front of him and then instantly the monster was to the side of him with the demon's hand pressing something against his own side. In that moment he felt something push him aside. The impact of the attack sent him flying across the street. Such a powerful magic had been used to attack him with him. He had no idea that demons possessed this sort of strength in this time. It had been his lack of knowledge that had been his own undoing.
Pain, that was the only thing running through his mind as he tried to regain his balance from the attack that he couldn't even see. His clothing was torn and his side bruised from the impact of the attack. From what he could tell he felt as if something had broke on the inside. There was no relief from the pain at all as it seemed like the demon wasn't done with his attack at all. The only warning he got was the heat from the attack. Even under his coat and shirt he could feel a warmth from behind him and then it hit him. His clothing burnt away and he himself was pushed again. This time he wasn't as lucky as before the attack of the demon sent him flying right into one of those sleeping mechanical dragons.
His body crashed against the sleeping beast waking it and at the same time leaving a sizable dent into the creature. Siegfried was laying on the ground face down with broken glass all around, bits of it in his hair. His back was exposed as the clothing he was wearing was burnt away by the fiery attack that the demon had used on him. The pain from being forced into the car and the strike against his back caused him to black out. Only the sound coming from the car caused his eyes to open slightly. There wasn't anything he could do right now. Once more he had been cocky and it caused him to lose against a demon. This would be something he would take to heart, don't underestimate your foes, however he wasn't about to give up, not yet.
His hands softly pushed against the ground as he tried to get off the ground, never before has his body felt so heavy. Slowly he rose off the ground, as he lifted himself up several inches off the ground, his arms buckled under his own weight and he fell back to the ground. Determined not to give up he tried once more, but even before he was able to get an inch off the ground he fell once more. It felt as if there was something pushing down against him each time he tried to stand up. The pain from the attacks was taking it's tole on his body, there was no way that he could fight anymore, but he knew that he had to. In order to protect those who lived here from this monster he had to beat the demon. Yet the lure of sleep was slowly creeping his way.
With a third try he finally was able to get far enough off the ground to raise a knee up. He had gotten passed the point where he had fallen, he couldn't give up now. Slowly with the last of his energy he pushed his body to the limit pushing past the pain to stand up. However it was easy to tell that the young knight was on his last legs. His legs wobbled as he stood and his breaths were shallow. His eyes almost lifeless yet across his face he kept the expression of determination. “Thy strikes are like a childs....” Even if taunting the demon wasn't wise at this time it was all he could do. The expression all bark no bite right now perfectly fit the young knight.
“Dost thee ….need to learn ….how to fight?” Each word left his mouth with a heavy breath in between them. Slowly he took a step towards Jak, almost falling over as he lifted his foot off the ground. He no longer had any sense of balance, yet he didn't let that stop him from moving forward. Regaining his balance somewhat he took another step, almost falling forward again he used this movement to push himself forward taking another step as he was falling. His vision slowly getting blurred with each step, but he knew he was making progress towards the demon. If he was going to fall in battle then he wanted to fall with his head held high.
The damage done to his body was great. His back entirely burnt, his left side was bruised and he had broken ribs. A majority of the clothing that he had was burnt away. Yet he his spirit wasn't broken he was still ready to fight, even if his body was no longer able to. Nothing would break his spirit nor his loyalty, this demon may of tested it but it will not waver ever and so he made up his mind for one last try, one last attack. With the remaining strength he had he would try to end this so that at the very least when he fell it wouldn't be alone.
Slowly he closed the gap between him and the demon. When he was a foot away from the demon he stood upright as best as he could. He raised one hand out and closed it into a fist. He pulled back that arm and took a step forward before falling to the ground. His body made a loud thump and then nothing. No sound came from him at all the fight was over, he had lost. This was the end for him and his night time walk. He had met a demon and in his arrogance he had tried to defend the town without knowing that it was much stronger then he was.

After Jak delivered the last hit, he seemed to snap out of the rage that he was in. He felt a little bad for the guy. Jak thought it weird that he didn't really put up much of a fight. Jak watched as he sent the knight flying into a nearby car. He smashed into it causing the car alarm to go off. Jak could tell that he was burned pretty good from that last hit. Jak was sure that there was no way for the man to get up after that.
Jak was rather surprised to see the man trying to get up. Jak watched him try to get up from the ground only to fall back down the first time. Jak was sort of hoping that he would be able to get up. Not to continue the fight, he could tell that the fight was over now. He was in no condition to continue. Jak nodded with a slight smile when he saw that the man finally got to his feet after a little while of struggling. Jak clapped slowly the small smile still on his face.
“Thy strikes are like a childs....” Jak stopped clapping and sighed a bit. He was still doing this? Well he could understand where he was coming from at least. “Dost thee ….need to learn ….how to fight?” Jak could tell from the heavy breathing between words that it was a struggle for the man to even remain standing let alone talk. Jak would not react to the taunts instead just looked at the tired, beaten man before him.
Jak just watched Siegfried walk closer to him. When it looked like he was about to fall on his face, Jak instinctively stepped forward to try and catch him, but it looked like he didn't need to. Closer and closer the proud knight came. He wanted to end the fight on his own terms even when beaten. Jak could respect that. Jak really didn't see that many differences between them. They were both loyal to those they want to protect and stubborn on top of that.
When the knight was only a foot away, he pulled his fist back to punch Jak. Jak just stood there waiting. He knew the punch wouldn't hurt, he would let the knight do what he thought he needed to. Before the punch was thrown, he started to fall. His body was done, there was no more he could do. Before he could hit the ground, Jak grabbed him to hold him up. Jak hoisted the knight over his shoulders fireman style heading back to the UE building. "Don't worry, I know a place that will fix you up."
