How had this happened? Why had it turned out like this? What had started out as a seemingly decent party had suddenly spiraled out of control and into hectic and stressful chaos. It had begun with the Head of the Kawada Household herself, Katrina, screaming at Raygin on the doorstep of the Shihion Manor. For whatever reason had she screamed at him? She was mad. Made that Raygin had not gone to see her. Mad that Raygin had locked himself away from her, hidden from the world in the confines of his bedroom. But, how can she blame him? Raygin had tried to see her, multiple times in fact, only to find that she was far too busy with the life of being appointed the Head to give him her time. If Katrina had, truly, been so miserable about not seeing him there was nothing stopping the young woman from going to his room. It had been her own decision to not make Raygin into a more important part of her life, not his.
But, the blame could also be put on Raygin. He did stop going to see her after all. His depression, his despair, his anxiety over his injury had finally gotten to him. He had become so scared of injuring himself further, and shortening his own lifespan even more that he hid himself. He was a burden on his family. The only people who ever came to see him were his adopted parents and siblings, offering sympathy and their love to him. But Raygin was sick of sympathy. It wouldn't heal him. It wouldn't take the fear away. When people looked at him all he saw looking back at him was sympathy and sorrow. He didn't want to be looked at like that. And at that party he met people who didn't look at him like that. He had met Hotaru, Ajraka, Emika, Asmokon and even that ice queen Taiho. For one reason or another, none of them looked at him like the dying patient he was. They saw him as a person. They saw him as the thing he had always wanted to be seen for.
Raygin could feel the hot tears streaming down his face as he struggled against the intoxicated Katrina, trying his best to get her home. He wasn't crying heavily, just unable to control himself due to his over loading amount of stress. It was all her fault. If Katrina hadn't gotten drunk. If Katrina hadn't acted in that way! If Katrina had just controlled herself it wouldn't have happened! If she had just controlled her damned self then those two wouldn't have gotten mad. And if they hadn't have gotten mad then that wouldn't have happened. Raygin grit his teeth, pulling Katrina against her will down one of the roads of the Seireitei. The moons light shone down on them as the Kawada Manor came into view. He managed to get Katrina onto the property and up the stairs, the sounds of his struggles alerted the maids in the cleaning the entrance. When the doors opened they gasped in surprised at the two, quickly shuffling them inside.
"Raygin-san, what's happened?" One asked. Raygin was not referred to as sama in the household. "She's alright. She's just had a little too much to drink is all." Raygin replied, letting go of his cousin as the maids took her away. One look at him, though, caused one of them widen her eyes. "Raygin-san...whose blood is that?" The young man blinked, looking down at his clothing and not seeing what she was looking at anywhere around his chest area. He then noticed his sleeve, the light blue fabric stained with a deep hue of red. "Oh...this. It's mine. Don't worry about it...alright.." Raygin replied, his tone softening as his eyes lowered. He walked by the maids, heading into the maze of hallways with a rapidly increasing rate of speed as he made his way to his room. He wanted to return to his comfort zone. To the safety of his little world, hidden away from the others.
His door closing softly, Raygin rested himself against his door. A lifeless look upon his face as he looked across the simple and barren room that he called his world. First things first though. He made his way over to a hamper and began to disrobe, allowing the clothes he wore to fall into a pile around his feet. First with his pants, then with his top. When was the last time that Raygin had worked out? His torso still contained a little of the muscle structure of a man who had a developed body, it was mostly all gone. Slumped shoulders combined with thin shoulders were the tell tale signs of someone who did not take much care of themselves. The Kawada found himself another pair of leg wear, the pajamas that he wore on a nightly basis. He wasn't the sort of person to sleep with a shirt, so he didn't bother with one. As he made his way to the mattress along one of the walls of his room, he paused. Inside his dark room his eyes rested on the moonlight leaking in through the frames of his balcony doorway.
He stared for a few seconds, before deciding to stay up for a bit longer. Making his way to his patio doorway and opening it, Raygin stepped onto the small balcony he had overlooking his rooms garden. It wasn't one that he tended to, just one of the many gardens grown alongside walkways like his balcony served as. He stepped back outside, the night air snuggling up against his exposed skin. The young man walked to the edge and sat down, letting one foot press itself into the grass while the other rested across his thigh. It was quiet. Very quiet. The exact opposite of the noise at the party. Raygin wondered if it was still going on, how the individuals he had met thought of him seeing what had happened. The only thing that broke the silence was the shishi-odoshi, banging itself against the rock pond when filled with water.
He didn't know how long he was going to sit out here. Raygin closed his eyes, relaxation washing over him at last as the combination of the gentle banging of the shishi-odoshi and cool night breeze eased his stress. But, suddenly there was a new sound. One that prompted Raygin to open his eyes towards its source...and caused him to take quite the interesting action. He jumped backwards, scrambling up along the walkway slightly after letting out a yelp. "A-Ajraka-san?? What are you doing here?" Raygin asked with a shaken voice.
