Traveling from one of the worlds largest cities to the surrounding country side had become a hobby of Asmoskon's over the last three months. This weekend was one that he hoped he would be able to simply relax and enjoy a walk through one of the largest forest in Japan. This particular forest Asmoskon had never been able to visit before and was quiet excited to see it throughout the day. He had left early in the morning from Tokyo has was normal for him on the weekend and now at around mid day had arrived to the outskirts of the forest.
However, just as soon as he travels the first few meters into the forest Asmoskon could already tell his fantasy of a relaxing day was behind him. There was a hollow inside of the park and this hollow had a toxic evil too it. Asmoskon couldn't actually located the hollow on his energy sensing talent alone something that Asmoskon knew he would need to gain more skill in for later. However, whenever Asmoskon had seen a hollow everything around it normally was destroyed and this forest was so beautiful so full of nature and life that the young Quincy couldn't stand to allow that to happen.
Focusing his reiatsu Asmoskon's pitch black longbow appears in the grasp of his left hand as he walks further into the forest. Asmoskon knew that he had to be careful that was something easy to know and that if this hollow got the first hit on him he most likely wouldn't survive. "Can't I get at least one day to myself" The simple though crossed his mind as he searched throughout the forest for any signal of the hollow. Anything to give it away the sound of a branch breaking anything at all he was listening intently ready to pull back on the bowstring with his right hand and fire off at the hollow.
Zakuto had been using this lovely forest as hunting grounds. It was working out for him pretty well too. He had chosen this forest in particular because usually he would catch and devour souls that went astray. The souls that hadn't passed on to the Soul Society. If not possible to catch souls very seldom he would camp on the outskirts of the forest picking off humans who weren't known well or were homeless.
However there had been a change in his scheme of plans today. As Zakuto was hunting a male soul who had just recently died he felt a spiritual pressure. He barely noticed it but yes, there it was again. "Ahhh new prey" he chuckled while abandoning the Soul. Cautiously he sprinted to the spiritual pressure. Not knowing who or what this person/thing was he didn't care. He only had one thing on his evil mind. "Kill!"
As Zakuto was halfway to the pressure he heard a twig snap. The alerting sound gave him an advantage. He was now able to tell roughly where the person/thing was. When he was 3/4 close to the pressure he bounded up a tree to look for his prey. The hunter quickly and carefully manoeuvred around the tree with no successfully sightings.
Just as he was about to leap to a different tree he spotted a figure. Yes just barely out of the corner of his eye. Zakuto turned to face the figure. When he had completed a 180° turn he was shocked as he realized what his prey was. "Yessss, a Quincy. He whispered delightfully to himself. Zakuto then leaped from the tree into the air attempting to land on the Quincy. He threw his head back roared to cry of hollows.

Asmoskon had continued to walk throughout the forest with his bow held at the level of his waist in a horizontal angle with his right hand already placed on the bowstring ready to pull back. Now everything was happening Asmoskon had stepped on a twig accidentally sending out the sound he knew would go against him in the long run. How could he have been so careless to have alerted whatever hollow was in this forest as to where he was leaning the advantage to his enemy. There it was a loud rustle of branches from a tree somewhere nearby.
Asmoskon turns toward the sound of the branches to see a few leaves falling to the ground giving him all the evidence he needed to know that the hollow had found him and at the moment he was its prey. There it was again another loud sound turning around Asmoskon looks upward to the tops of the trees to see the hollow. This hollow was falling down upon him and the only thing Asmoskon could think of was run. Rolling forward once and then leaping forward in order to put some distance between him and the hollow. Once he landed on the ground from his leap Asmoskon turns on the ground and pulls back on his bowstring focusing his reiatsu forming the dark red energy into its arrow shape only to be fired off toward the chest of the hollow as it roared less than a moment later.
Asmoskon had knew that his mistake could have gotten him killed easily and he was lucky to still even be alive, but the sound of the hollows roar wasn't to convincing. Asmoskon knew that if he dropped his bow and covered his ears in an attempt to hinder the painful feelings of his ears the hollow would only strike leaving him defenseless. The Quincy knew he would need to be smart against this hollow it looked like a tiger. This hollows mask though it was more colorful than any other Asmoskon had ever seen it was both purple and orange two colors that normally never went together at least that he had seen. Something about this hollow made Asmoskon feel like this battle wasn't going to be easy his only hope was that his arrow would finish it off quickly.
Damnit why are you Quinces always so persistent? Zakuto thought to himself as he sidestepped the arrow just barely making. The arrow grazed his should and side. "Damn not fast enough!" Zakuto cursed. As the precious red leaked out of the hollows side he roared in pain. Zakuto hadn't gained much of liking for pain yet. "My turn to play Quincy, heh."
Hence the name Hollow of Shadows Zakuto dissapeared into the darkness of the shadows. When he reappeared he was at the 4'o clock of the Quincy. Bounding up to him he swung his tail and then ran to a tree and clawed his way up. As he was climbing to the top he prepared for another attack. Of course the Quincy would fire his bow before possible. Or so he thought
Watching down on the Quincy he knew the archer was going to hear him. Or alternatively on the worse side spot him. I must devour this man whomever he is. Zakuto thought thoughts full of desire. Then I would be one step closer to evolution!

Watching as his arrow slashed across the side of the hollow causing it pain and the blood of the beast to sweep from its body to the ground below. Asmoskon started to rise up to his feet when all of a sudden the hollow seemed to vanish into the shadows of the trees. Then the large beast could be heard from behind and just as Asmoskon started to turn around the large hollow slammed into the Quincy knocking him down to the ground. Asmoskon wasn't quite sure what had actually happened when the hollow seemed to vanish, but it made one thing clear. He needed to finish this hollow off as soon as possible.
Asmoskon was lucky that the hollow had only made contact with his clothing and not his flesh simply because the beast was poison to his body literally. Now as his left shoulder slammed to the ground it brought a large amount of pain to the Quincy causing him to momentarily loosen his grip on his bow. Now there was only one way to counter the hollow as it rushed to a tree a few meters away Asmoskon extended his right hand aiming for the tree in hopes that everything would work to his luck. Versteckte Pfeil was the only method of offense hat Asmoskon could utilize at the moment and because of that he resorted to the Quincy technique sending off a dark red reiatsu arrow from his palm toward the tree he planned the hollow would rush up. The simple plan was to make this hollow turn itself into the target and that was the best plan Asmoskon had while he regained his feet.
Leaping from the tree while roaring Zakuto landed behind the quincy. "For a Quincy you sure are different. I've never encountered a Quincy such as yourself. I'm honored to be your opponent. What name do you go by Quincy?" Zakuto returned to the shadows waiting for the Quincy to make his move. Zakuto remained 30 feet from the Quincy while running around the perimeter. As he was circling his opponent his moved an extra foot each time around.
Preparing to attack once more Zakuto thought he might toy with this Quincy. He was roughly of equal strength to the Quincy. So he thought of dragging out the fight for fun. Zakuto had never had such a thought but this opponent was on a whole new level. "Yes this should amuse me." Zakuto laughes through an evil grin. But right now he was getting bored. He might as well attack because his hunger was getting to him. While he was still in the shadows Zakuto climbed up another tree. Quite a large tree at that.
When he reached the top of the tree he had a perfect view if the forest. This really was a forest of wonders. The birds singing their morning songs. The bugs chiding and buzzing. Too bad some of it would get destroyed in the fight. It would grow back though. Zakuto readied his stance and leap. Through mid air he brought his spiked tail in front of him. This was to block any arrow from hitting his mask. Almost there now, so close. Six feet close to him now.

Asmoskon had felt the air behind him shift as the hollow landed in the same spot and knew that he was going to suffer some type of damage. However, just as he turns the hollow had fled once again into the shadows of the trees. That struck Asmoskon as rather odd, but dangerous. It simply meant that the hollow he was faced against right now was one that could think logically and wasn't ruled by the hunger of its race. This battle might be difficult, but that was felt to be determined.
Turning from side to side with his bow held in his left hand still ready to pull back on the string at any moment while searching the tree line. Asmoskon's eyes stayed perfectly still never moving. To focus on a single spot is a mistake every section must be scanned don't allow your mind to trick you. These were the teachings of his grandfather that he had been trained in and practiced nearly his entire life making sure that an attack could be foresee. Hearing a tree make what could only be compared to as a grunt of pain Asmoskon turns to the right toward the direction of the sound. Just as he did the sight of the tiger hollow leaping once again into the air above him was compared.
Asmoskon's first reaction was to raise his bow and fire swiftly into the skull of the hollow shattering its mask and killing it right there. However, just before the action could be set forth the tail of the beast swung forward guarding its mask with what appeared to be a large spiked ball at the end. Realizing that the best course of assault had been countered rather effectively Asmoskon decided to leap to the left. Rolling on the ground as the hollow crushed the ground where he had been standing. Finishing the roll into the form of Asmoskon on his left knee with his bow held in front of his body with his right hands index and middle fingers already neighbored with his mouth Asmoskon fires off another dark red reiatsu arrow.
Asmoskon hadn't been sure whether or not a simply reiatsu arrow could pierce through the spiked ball tail. It wasn't that Asmoskon knew anything about the actual section of the hollows body, but only the fact that the hollow itself had utilized it as a defense method. This meant that the hollow had trusted its own body to defend its mask. That meant either an arrow even one as powerful as his own couldn't pierce it or he had just given away his first chance of killing the beast. Regardless this time Asmoskon wasn't going to strike at the obvious area like many others, but aimed for the left thigh of the hollow.
Asmoskon had thought of which section the hollow seemed to utilize most during the last minute. The fact was that even though it had only been little over a minute since the battle had started the hollow had already ran away and leapt throw the air twice. This meant that the hollow needed its back legs and if one was injured the effectiveness of its tactics would surly suffer. Asmoskon watched now as his arrow flew toward the hollow. Ready to pull back on the bow string once more Asmoskon stares sternly at the hollow as he answers "Masurao Asmoskon!"
The Quincy always had his bow ready. Even when Zakuto hadn't been close. When he had been in the tree. The Quincy even had his bow prepared then. That was going to be a nuisance. Zakuto had also noticed how focused the Quincy was. He had never dropped his guard. Making perfect use of his senses. Another ideal to the Quincy. Damn, why did he always have to pick on the sharp and bright opponents? This Quincy had obviously trained with somebody before. But it couldn't have been the Quincy empire. He was alone, in a forest!
Zakuto missed the Quincy again. Damned speedy human archers. There was a big patch of packed in dirt now. Since he missed he crushed the ground. Oh well, that didn't appeal to him. What did though was the arrow flying right at his thigh! If that that made contact with his skin it would create a new wound near his leg. That would make it a bit difficult to run on all fours.
There was no way to dodge it. The arrow was nearly there and he was lying on the ground. He was also at a lack of speed to quickly get up and move away. After the Reiatsu arrow hit he would have to find a way to flee. There was no way a Tiger hollow could fight on three legs. It had reached his skin now. A sting and burning sensation had come over his whole left thigh. Blood poured out and seeped into his dark colored fur. It only seemed to make the Hollow darker. He roared in agony once the wound was inflicted upon him.
Trial and error took place as Zakuto tried to stand on his back left leg. He growled roared and grunted all at the same time. So..... much.... pain... This time he stood up on all limbs but his back left. Zakuto folded that one back and began limp/running. Spike ball and all, the tail was indeed useful at the time for him. The object was to use it for balance mostly.
"We will meet each other again Asmoskon Masurao! Through fate and destiny. It does not matter if we will befriend each other or slaughter each other. Remember this name, Zakuto Yami!" And with that he galloped into the sunset. Out of the forest deeper into the wilderness now. In hopes that the Quincy would be merciful and allow him to escape.

Asmoskon had watched his arrow fly through the air itself toward the thigh of the hollow with yet another arrow at the ready. Asmoskon was curious to see if the hollow would be able to dodge the arrow like it had dodged his first done from his palm. However, once the arrow had pierced into the flesh of the beast and causes a roar of agony the Quincy knew the battle had fallen in his favor. Straitening himself to his full height while the hollow attempts to stand failing time and again the Quincy watches ready to fire at a moment's notice of any kind of surprise like the first.
No such surprise came though. The only thing Asmoskon hadn't expected to happen was the tiger hollow to actually turn and began to wobble away from the battle in pain. It would have been simple enough to fire and strike the hollow down right there eliminating another threat to peace. However, as the thought crossed his mind Asmoskon felt he was thinking more like his fallen brothers and not like his grandfather. The principle of peace is balance and there can't be such a thing without any hollows. Nor any Quincy or Shinigami this had weighed heavily on the Quincy's decision.
It hadn't been the thing to actually bring down his bow. The second thought that entered his mind was his own ideal belief of honor and respect. Now watching the hollow limp away in pain he couldn't help, but think of himself during his battle against Iwa. That Shinigami had attacked him from behind and defeated him through painful and brutal methods. If he were to attack the hollow now from behind when it's to weak to defeat itself from death than he was no better then the Emperor of the Quincy. He would be a disgrace to his family and all free Quincy, but most of all to himself.
Letting go of the bowstring Asmoskon lowers his left hand. As his bow vanishes into nothingness Asmoskon watches the hollow disappear into the forest screaming his promise of return and battle. Turning the opposite way of the hollow Asmoskon begins to walk back toward where he had entered the forest. Knowing that no enjoyment could be gained from staying any longer he makes his way to his motorcycle to drive back to his apartment in Tokyo only speaking a single word. "Honor"
