Finally a weekend that would allow Asmoskon to enjoy himself freely. Something that the teenage Quincy wasn't getting as much of due to the overwhelming amount of school work and hollows to deal with in Tokyo. It was time though now here it was when he could ride to the edge of Japan and go for a swim just for the fun. Everything just seemed like it was rushing along after his meeting with Kazura and joining the group and especially after battling against Iwa. Leaving early in the morning Asmoskon now riding his motorcycle throughout Japan was closing in on the coast only to sense something nearby.
It was simply enough for Asmoskon to know that the reiatsu he sensed was that belonging to a hollow. Letting out a sigh of slight disappointment Asmoskon turned his bike and drove toward the hollow he was sensing. Within a few minutes Asmoskon came upon a small town however, the reiatsu of the hollow was gone. Driving to where he last senses its reiatsu Asmoskon arrives at a small park within the town with perfectly green grass that looked beautifully cut. Stepping from his motorcycle while placing his helmet on the back seat Asmoskon walking within the park looking around for anything.
Looking around the park Asmoskon notices that nothing looks out of the norm for there are things for children to play and just a wide open field of grass. That was the key though that Asmoskon noticed. Walking into the grass Asmoskon sees that two large portions are pressed downward in the form of three pointed feet like some kind of animal. "It's gone there's nothing I can do now." Standing upward after surveying the footprint Asmoskon senses another reiatsu close by with the signature of a Shinigami.

Hotaru was getting excited. She had spent so long in Seireiti, training to get into a squad and just the training in general to be a good shinigami. Once she graduated, she was surprised that she got her requested squad, Squad One. She hoped that she would be able to work near the head captain and now that is, she can't wait to learn. She went to the squad and was welcomed with open arms. She didn't expect to be welcomed that easily. She was able to work her way up the ranks and made an unseated officer.
She trained hard and was glad of the promotion. Then, one of the seated officers came to her and told her of patrol duty that was needed in the human world. She hadn't seen it since her death, so she was curious of how it looked now. She had read in books but she wanted to see it in person. Since this would be her first patrol, they gave her the basics of how the gate worked and what to be expected there. She stood waiting in front of the gate, the officer opened it for her and away she went.
She arrived near the city limits, where she could see a wooded area. She stood there a little wide-eyed while the gate closed behind her. She couldn't believe that so much in this world had changed. She looked at the huge buildings, all the wires on poles for electricity, watching the children play. Even what they kids played with looked foreign to her. It was then when she sensed it, what she was told a hollow would feel like. She felt it near the wooded area, the park and rushed over there as quick as she could.
The hollow was there, sniffing around for lost souls. It looked to her like an elephant, big and slow. It seemed to notice one off by the trees and she saw her trembling in fear. She quickly ran over and put herself between the hollow and child. "You will not have her as long as I am breathing!" She readied her stance to attack the creature when it attacked first. It went straight for the heart, but she was able to sidestep the creature. Its attack was avoided and the girl was able to get some distance away. She kept the hollow distracted and made it hit a tree with one of its attack. Hotaru quickly ran over to the girl and did what she was taught, gave her a soul burial. She quickly told the girl what she was going to do and the girl thanked her before she flew off to Soul Society.
Hotaru turned her attention back to the hollow, which was getting angry. It's not her fault that the hollow is too stupid to know that it telegraphs all of its attacks and she can easily dodge them. The next charge it made, she was able to line up a good slice with her sword, to defeat it. But, before she could do that something seemed to come out of the hollow. She finished slaying the elephant hollow when she turned around and looked at the hollow that came out of it. She could tell that it was different from the other, it actually seemed to have a brain. She tried what she had before and it didn't work. When she tried to line up slashes, those didn't work. She was just getting winded.
She knew that this was taking too long. She noticed that it was moving around like a snake, small and fast, but there was a faint trail she could follow. The snake went high into the air and seemed to survey the area. When it found something, it reared up to attack while Hotaru came up from behind it. On the next attack, the hollow seemed to try to go after something, so she quickly slashed at the mask, slaying the hollow. But, when she was landing, she saw that she was going to ram into the very thing the hollow was after, another soul. She was able to divert her momentum, except that momentum sent her into a cement wall, hitting the back of her head fairly hard.
She saw the soul run and felt another reiatsu presence. She couldn't tell at the time who it was, since her ears were ringing and she was a little out of it from hitting the wall. She got near a tree and put her head between her legs, hoping that the ringing would stop soon so she could greet the reiatsu signature that seemed to be coming this way.

Surveying the area continually as he did Asmoskon came upon the small reiatsu of child hiding and crying. Making sure to appear friendly Asmoskon walks to the child and informs it that everything will be ok now. "Now everything makes more sense" Asmoskon already had pieced together the facts that he had found throughout the park to a rough idea of the events. Obviously the hollow reiatsu that he had felt was real and that it most likely had attacked the spirit of the child with him now. The reiatsu of the Shinigami that he currently could still sense was close and that must have been who had taken care of the hollow, but why no the child.
"Alright little one lets get you outta here" Asmoskon knew that he would need to bring the child to the Shinigami for it to be sent to the Soul Society in order to be protected. What he wasn't prepared for was the fact that the Shinigami was on the ground with her head between her knees in what looked like a lot of pain. "Damn it I should have gotten here just a little faster. Stay here for a minute little one" Walking over toward the Shinigami Asmoskon takes in the appearance of the her zanpakuto and her clothing which match what he was taught they normally where. All in all the girl looked like a normal Shinigami "You alright Shinigami?"

Hotaru kept her head down. It was pounding something fierce. It was a stupid mistake, one she promised not to make again. She felt the reiatsu in the area, the one she had felt before. The weirdest part about it is that it felt warm to her, which is a sensation she had never felt before. It intrigued her a great deal.
When the dizziness seemed to pass, she lifted her head up and noticed the person that was standing near her. She registered what he said and when she looked over, expected another shinigami, she was still new and not too many people knew her name. But, when she looked up, she saw a human staring at her. She heard about the humans with powers to see, but this was her first one. She kinda just stared at him for a minute before taking everything in, like what he was wearing. She put her guard up immediately when she answered, "Good now, thanks for asking."
She saw the soul a few feet away. She quickly ran over to her and explained what would be happening. Once the girl agreed, she performed the Soul Burial and wished the girl safety on her trip to Soul Society. She turned her attention back to the human. The way he dressed was familiar to a breed of humans that, as she was told, are the sworn enemy of shinigami and Soul Society, Quincy.
From what she learned about them, she should kill him on site, but she didn't want to kill him outright. She wanted it to be honorable, so a duel it would have to be. She unsheathed her sword, ran up to him and slashed, hoping to hit him right across the chest.
She decided to ask some questions now. She asked, "You're a Quincy aren't you? I have to admit that you're the first I've seen. My first patrol seems to be pretty interesting. I will thank you for bringing that soul back, I lost her when I had my injury."

Asmoskon stood to the side as the Shinigami spoke to the lost soul and then managed to send it on its way to the Soul Society. So far this Shinigami was far more too the point and cared for her job then the one he had met before by the name of Rin. The fact that this Shinigami immediately rushed over to the soul and fulfilled her duty was something Asmoskon hoped more Shinigami shared. Now as the Shinigami turned and faced him Asmoskon began to smile slightly only to realize what was about to happen.
Pushing off of the ground with his right leg Asmoskon jumps backwards just in time to avoid being slashed by the zanpakuto of the Shinigami. Landing a few feet away Asmoskon immediately extends his left hand outward and his pitch black longbow appears in his grasp.
You're a Quincy aren't you?
That simple question already gave Asmoskon the amount of detail required to know why she had just attacked him. Now as she finished speaking Asmoskon knew exactly why everything had just taken a large spin in the wrong direction. This Shinigami was a newly appointed one that had only just arrived in the human world. With the war between all races continuing to rage as it always had Asmoskon assumed that the Shinigami would be taught about Quincy and that they are the opposite of a Shinigami.
Asmoskon could see that the Shinigami was staring him down which honestly gave the Quincy an eerie feeling up his spine simply because that was his reaction to disrespect and those who should be eliminated. "Well Shinigami I couldn't let a poor soul get hurt. Now unless you want to return to headquarters with a bunch of holes I suggest you move along and just forget you saw me" In all truth Asmoskon didn't like to threaten anyone, but it was apparent that this Shinigami had no true reason to trust him and only probably knew about the Quincy that serve the Emperor not a free Quincy like himself not that there were many left after all.

She watched as he was able to avoid her attack. She also saw that he made a bow appear from nowhere. That validated her claim, that he was a Quincy. She was very curious about this man. That he let her send the soul to peace was interesting. She knew that Quincies were her enemies, but she was surprised that he did not strike out at her immediately when she was seen. It intrigued her a great deal. She kept her zanpaktou out, always in a fighting stance.
Then, she looked at his bow. She had to admit, his bow was nice. It seemed to be well balanced. She only practiced with a long bow a few times with her father, but she could tell he knew how to make a good bow. She went into a grove of trees and decided to sneak up on him. As quick as she could, after she went into the trees, she changed her mind and jumped up, trying to slash at him from above. When she landed, she decided to answer his question and ask some of her own.
"At least you have enough honor to not let innocent get hurt. I would never let a soul get injured as well. I do have a job, and I like to think I perform the job well. As an enemy to the shinigami, I'm surprised you didn't lash out at me earlier. Also because of that, I can't just leave. I made myself a vow and this job is now my life. I will uphold what I've learned and do what I think is best. Though, I must say that you're bow is beautiful. In my human life, my father let me try a long bow a few times. I was never very good with it, but yours is done beautifully. I remember faintly about an Emperor of your kind. You wouldn't happen to know where he is, do you?"
She always kept him in eye sight, just in case something happened. She was curious to see what he could do.

It was plain for Asmoskon see already that this Shinigami favored the traditional method of combat for her race. The fact that she held her zanpakuto with both her hands and her legs were spread somewhat widely yet evenly enough to support her weight and balance meant that she fought strait forward and to the point. This Asmoskon knew already based on her stance after her failed first attempt of attack yet as she moved into the trees Asmoskon was slightly surprised after all it went against everything her stance told him. Then again the fact that he used a bow gave him a double edge both advantage and disadvantage. This fight would be decided by both of their movements and how close each was to another this Asmoskon knew for sure.
Once the Shinigami vanished into the trees Asmoskon knew she would be attempting some type of surprise in order to take him off-guard and strike before he could fire off an arrow. This meant that Asmoskon would need to stay at a constant distance if he was going to walk away from this fight without any injury. Walking about half as fast as he could backwards while keeping his bow in a horizontal fashion in front of his waist with his right hand on the string of the bow the Quincy begins to move away from the trees. Every second taking away more of her advantage then his own Asmoskon moves backwards knowing that if he could see her she was simply a target.
"I live my life by the principle of respect and honor Shinigami. There is little reason for us to fight. I'm no enemy." Asmoskon spoke loud enough that his voice would spread throughout the trees while constantly looking over every detail. Asmoskon had been trained not to focus on a single spot for that in fact was a weakness and could allow a surprise attack on him to become more successful. Instead the Quincy look in a more general way making sure to survey an area while not maintaining focus on a single tree for example. There simply had to be a way that Asmoskon could convince this Shinigami he was no enemy to her race and later on make sure that all Shinigami knew that, but that was going to be hard he knew if not impossible considering he was literally in combat with one at the moment simply because he had been associated with the Vandenreich and the damned Emperor.
Now as the Shinigami seemed to appear from nothingness itself from the body of the trees Asmoskon lifted his arms upward slightly angling his first arrow as the string is pulled back with his index and middle fingers. The formation of the dark red reiatsu arrow was instantaneous and once the string reached back to the length of his nose Asmoskon released his hold sending off his arrow. This first shot though Asmoskon didn't wish to be lethal and instead aimed for the Shinigami's left shoulder. If successfully Asmoskon knew that the wound wouldn't leave her in perfect condition to continue battling yet wouldn't harm her life.

She heard him say that he lived with respect and honor and that he wasn't an enemy. She had heard differently from Soul Society. But, based off what he said, she had to believe him. But only to a point. He had done nothing that would prove dishonor or disrespectful. He brought the soul to her after she had lost track of her. He waited for her to finish the Soul Burial. He never made the first move, she did. The more she thought about it, the more she thought that he really was just defending himself.
She watched as he nocked the bow with his reiatsu arrow. She looked around and knew she wasn't close to anything to grab to help her move out of the way. She also knew she wasn't too fast, so that she probably couldn't get away. She would try anyway. She saw the arrow fly, true to its target. She tried to move out of the way and the attack was too fast. She felt it hit and she hit the ground hard. She looked over at her left side, where she felt the arrow go in. She was surprised that it didn't really hit anything vital.
She touched around the wound to see how bad it was and it wasn't even that bad. She pulled some extra cloth from her belt, she always kept some handy for just such an occasion, and had bound the wound as best she could. It was just enough to stop some of the bleeding and there would still be pressure on the wound. She looked at him again. She was surprised a Quincy would do this. She had learned that all Quincy worked for their Emperor and would kill shinigami on sight. They would relentlessly attack shinigami to the death for the glory of their Emperor. He was nothing like that. It was very intriguing.
She slowly got up, taking a few deep breaths to get back into the game. She took her stance again and looked straight into his eyes. He had to know that she was still new, since she couldn't even dodge his arrow. It made her feel bad, but she knew she was still a little green. This just showed her that she had a lot of training left to do with fighting. She lunged at him again, trying to close the distance gap between them, aiming for his midsection/upper legs.
"You are not like what I thought. I was led to believe that all Quincies would immediately attack shinigamis on sight for the glory of their Emperor. You haven't mentioned him this entire time. You aren't with them are you?"
She waited to see what would happen and how this Quincy would react.
Post by ✠Asmoskon Masurao✠ on Aug 20, 2014 22:52:56 GMT -5
Asmoskon watched as the female Shinigami dropped from the air only a few feet away to the ground. The arrow that he had fired hit the exact spot that Asmoskon had marked deem able yet the Shinigami now seemed to be binding the wound in order to proceed. This wasn't some fight this Shinigami could win from what she had displayed to Asmoskon even though he knew he was far from powerful in terms of spiritual beings this Shinigami must be as new as they get and compared to him right now she wasn't in a good position. There had to be another way to stop her to prove to her that he wasn't an enemy, but every second this continued to go on it seemed less likely to believe in her shoes.
Now as the Shinigami rose to her feet once again it was plain to see the pain she felt. Asmoskon could see the blood seeping from the wound down her arm and felt bad for inflicting it upon her even if it was self defense. As the Shinigami charged once again Asmoskon could tell the direction of her strike and moved his body to the side placing his left toward the Shinigami while his right was protected. Moving his bow downward Asmoskon attempts to stop the swing of the Shinigami's zanpakuto only to have his left arm and bow brought upward from the strength the Shinigami still possessed.
"Damn it I don't want to kill her" his thoughts rushing through his mind. Leaping backwards Asmoskon thrusts his right hand forward and uses Versteckte Pfeil. The technique that the young Quincy had learned through his own methods of practiced had proven useful in the past few months and yet again as the reiatsu arrow launched from his palm toward the Shinigami this time aimed specifically for her right shin. However, this shot wasn't meant to damage the shin dangerously only to slash it across the far side and prove to make movement move difficult for the Shinigami.
"I'm not a Vandenreich and I don't serve the Emperor I'm a free Quincy. I'm no enemy of any race I only seek to protect not eradicate life." Asmoskon had spoken truly to the Shinigami making sure that his words wielded the gravity of her feelings. It had been a fact his entire life that he was free from the control of the Emperor and one that had been tested one than once in the past. Asmoskon was no servant to that monster and he never planned to be not to the murderer of thousands and his grandfather.
Post by Hotaru Kuchiki-Masurao on Aug 20, 2014 23:27:10 GMT -5
She saw during her slash, that he was able to avoid it. It was a little disheartening to see that her attacks were being blocked so easily, but it showed her what she needed to fix in her technique. She saw the arrow hit her shin, but could do nothing to stop it. It struck pretty hard, and she rolled away, to try to protect the rest of her body from her lunge. When she finished her roll, she let the injured leg up, so she could get a better look at it.
It was a cut, but it wasn't too shallow of a cut. It was on the far side of her right shin. It hurt a great deal, but it wasn't going to cause any permanent damage. She grabbed more material out of her uniform to bind this wound. It took a little longer than the other. The two wounds were getting to her, she could tell. The blood had stopped from her shoulder wound, but with the fresh blood coming out of the wound on her shin, she was going to lose a fair amount of blood.
She felt a little off, so she actually sat down on the ground. She looked at herself and almost felt ashamed for wearing the uniform. She didn't think she could get hurt this quick and this badly. She took a few steady breaths. She wouldn't be able to last much longer at this rate. She knew she couldn't win. The Quincy was much faster than her and even though he's not aiming to seriously hurt her, the blood loss alone would do her in. She got back up on her feet and held her stance, even if she was a little shaky. She didn't even know if she could actually attack right now. She looked at the Quincy.
"Then, I was misled in Soul Society about your kind. My name is Hotaru Wakashi, by the way. You have done nothing but respectful. I never would have known Quincies could be like that until you showed me differently. Since I can't really attack right now, I'm curious to learn about you. Why would you not align with your fellow Quincies and be alone?"

Asmoskon had watched just like before as the Shinigami was powerless to evade his arrow. He could see the blood from her shin run down and drench her foot until she tied it off with fabric. This wasn't something Asmoskon wanted he hated that this was happening, but what could he do this Shinigami wasn't listening to him. Watching her rest for a few moments Asmoskon didn't strike he simply waited in an attempt to show her that he meant her no harm at all that he was no enemy.
Now as she rose to her feet once more Asmoskon could see she was on her last stand. She took up her stance once again, but Asmoskon couldn't stand it any longer even if it meant putting himself in danger and so just like that his bow vanished from sight leaving the Quincy open. "It's not that you were truly misled Shinigami it's that your race sees mine as a problem that's not worth fixing instead of eliminating. Along with that I don't really think there are many free Quincy like me anymore so it might be safe to say that the Shinigami who trained you think I'm extinct."
Asmoskon sat on the group with his legs crossed just as his arms were now as he thought over the Shinigami's question. "To tell you the truth Shinigami I wasn't raised by the Vandenreich and never plan to serve the Emperor. I am a Quincy who lives his life in order to protect and serve innocence and peace not to destroy all other races to gain control and prove superiority like the Vandenreich. Your race just normally doesn't believe that there is like much of a difference between Quincy and that a chance can't be taken. That is at least what I was taught." Asmoskon looked the Shinigami in her eyes showing her that his sky blue sight held no anger, but only peace.

She listened to what he was saying. He said that shinigami, as a whole, that Quincies were a problem not worth fixing and he was free. She digested that for a moment. She thought back to what she learned of Quincies. She learned that they kill hollows instead of freeing the spirit within, sending the balance of souls off. It was off by too much, the worlds would be out of whack, leading to the destruction of both worlds. She understood that Quincies helped with the hollows, they just didn't free the soul and that's where the real problem lies.
It made sense that Soul Society would just eliminate them instead of trying to deal with them. There's so much going on, they just don't want to deal with them. Soul Society was too big and had too much going on to deal with one thing. At least, from what she's seen of Soul Society, that's what she could see. It was also assumed in the academy that all Quincies were with the Emperor. He hasn't done anything like the 'other' Quincies' have done from what she's heard. Also, he's not even attacking her. He put his bow away and was starting to sit on the ground.
She looked him in the eye while he continued to talk about himself. How he had no ties to the Emperor and he lived for peace to protect and serve the innocent. She lived for the same things, peace, protect and serve the innocent. Those are tenants that she has always lived by. While he was talking, she could tell one thing about him. He was telling her the truth. Everything that she had learned about how people act when they're lying, he wasn't doing. She believed every word that he was saying.
"I believe you, Quincy. What is your name by the way? I think it's only fair that you give it, since I gave you mine. You are right that most shinigami lump all Quincies in the same category. I did. But now, I think there are different shades of Quincies, just like the shinigami. I live by the same tenants that you do. I live to protect and serve the innocent souls of the Human World and keep the balance in order. Is there anything else you would like me to know?"
She sat down on the ground as well while she was talking.

Asmoskon sat as he finished explaining himself to the Shinigami known as Hotaru. Only once he had actually finished speaking and had a moment to clear his mind did he realize that the Shinigami had torn off parts of her uniform to bind the wounds that had been inflicted upon her. Asmoskon felt a cold grip around his heart as he came to realize this and that he had been the one to inflict the wounds upon her making her ruin the sign of her duty something that went against what he too believed in. Asmoskon tired to push the feeling and thought aside as Hotaru began to speak her own mind toward Asmoskon and the young Quincy could see the understanding and trust in the eyes of the Shinigami now.
Asmoskon smiled as Hotaru finished talking and stood up to his full height then turned and started to walk away back toward his motorcycle. After about three meters Asmoskon stops and turns his head back toward the Shinigami with a grin. "My name is Masurao Asmoskon. We'll meet again soon Hotaru. Until then try to keep my existence a secret for awhile longer if you can. Also before we next meet work on your speed not your stance" Asmoskon grinned widely as he waved to the Shinigami and continued toward his motorcycle signally that the brief skirmish and introduction was over for the time being.

She watched his face as she talked. He took in her appearance and she could see that it caused him pain. He was right. The pain that he could see that he caused her brought him pain. She could also see what looked like shame on his face. He didn't want to hurt her, but it was her fault. She didn't blame him. He was just defending himself. Then, he started to smile at her and stood up. She was a little confused.
He started to walk away. He walked towards a motorcycle. She hit herself, because she didn't even notice that the motorcycle was there. She should've seen it earlier. But, oh well now. She watched as he looked back at with a grin, saying to keep him a secret, we would meet again and to work on her speed. Before she could respond, he was off, waving at her while she went. It was an interesting ending to a weird fight.
She got up, dusted herself off and checked her wounds. Her shoulder one was healed enough, so she took that bandage off. She left the one on her shin, since it was still too fresh. She thought about that Quincy and was glad that she met him. All Quincies aren't the same after all. She then continued on her patrol, hoping like the Quincy said, that they would meet again soon.
