Maria would calmly listen to the techpriest while he talked, reloading her shotgun in the meantime. She took care to quietly murmur all the proper rites to appease the gun's machine spirit as she did so. Not that she wouldn't have done that anyways. It just seemed wrong to not even try to make an overt show of it in front of a follower of the Machine God.
However, just as she was opening her mouth to speak, the others interrupted her, going on their own merry little conversation. She tried a couple more times to say something, unfortunately being interrupted by one of the others. After the third try, she simply pursed her lips some and waited. She raised an eyebrow and smirked some after the conversation finally petered out.
"Now then, as I was going to say... Hello Eli. How're you doing, old man? Long story short, yes, he's one of our lord's other servants in the fight to preserve the Imperium. Now that that's out of the way, ladies first."
The Arbite would simply walk into the room after that, giving a quick glance around the worker's quarters. She was hurrying through things currently, looking for more obvious hints, if any, rather than an in-depth search. If nothing else, it would certainly help with any questioning that needed to be done later.
As Maria walks into the room and does a quick scan, she will note that one of the chairs at the table in the room has fallen over. On one corner of the table a spilled glass of water is present, and shattered glass is on the floor at the opposite end-- solving the question, at least, of where the Voidborn had picked up the shard. You would also notice several surveillance devices located at three separate areas of the room. There do not appear to be any other workers in the room, those three that Lanric had seen must have been the last of them as they went to their shifts.

Satisfied at Eli's showing of his identification, Aar-ek took his new false papers, replacing them with his Inquisition identification. The latter he tucked into the stomach portion of his armor, where it wouldn't accidentally find its way into someone with grabby fingers. Out of things to talk about with his teammates, the noble moved off towards the kitchen, following the Tech Priest with gratitude. He was hungry, and he'd really yet to miss a meal. Why change things before he even got to the surface for the mission?

"Maria? wait? is that you?! Oh my, how time does fly..." He smiled much more genuinely at her. Following her into the room. His gun was raised as he entered the room taking time to go slow and check the room over slowly so as to not miss anything important. He was also being cautious, making sure there was no one else in the room. Gazing at the broken glass and knocked over chairs, Eli gazed over at Maria, "The food couldn't have been that bad... What made them lose their minds?" He thought about the fact those three weren't the only three that were in this room and there were signs of it in here. "This is bad, how many more of these workers are there going to be?"

The Tech Adept turns to guide Aar-Ek towards the mess hall and kitchens. On the way there, Aar-Ek notices several other rooms have been labelled, including several more workers quarters, the engine room, and a surveillance room. There was even an armory.
As Eli joins Maria in the search, in addition to everything Maria found he notices some high gothic letters on the side of the water dispensal unit, and a small amount of blood on the floor. Difficult to notice but the absence of almost anything else made it somewhat easier to notice.

"What the..." He noticed the blood and the inscription on the water tank, he didn't know what it meant, or even the language. But that didn't stop him from thinking of a plan instantly, "Maria guard the door till i get back!" He turned and ran out of the room and down the hall the Adept Mechanicus was taking the other two. "WAIT!!! STOP!!!!" He had to catch the other two and get them back to the room. If the kid couldn't read it, perhaps the Mechanicus could, or maybe even the snob of a noble. Upon catching them, he caught his breath. "There's... some... kind... of inscription... on the... water canister... can't read it... not low gothic... Need your help..." He caught his breath and turned back as soon as the others came with him, but he wasn't coming back without them.
"You look like an extraordinary specimen, I look forward to breaking you."

Lanric nodded and took his papers, making a note to record them in his dataslate later. Who knew? It could be useful for later or something. After depositing them in his backpack, Lanric turned and followed Aar-ek towards the kitchens. He'd been serious about making something to eat for them all. It'd been a while since he'd been able to ply his cooking skills. He hoped they weren't too rusty. . .
Anyway, he, Aar-Ek, and the Mechanicus member passed by a few more rooms. Lanric had his dataslate out, having retrieved it from his pack after he'd put his papers away. While he didn't have the time to make a full copy of said papers at the moment, he was making a map of the area as they passed through, marking the various rooms and such. Could be handy later. They were nearing the kitchens, and soon, he'd be able to test his cooking prowess. . .
"WAIT!!! STOP!!!!"
Or at least, that was the plan. Blinking, Lanric paused and turned around. A note of concern entered his voice as he began to speak.
"Eli? What's wrong? Have you and Maria been ambushed or somethi-?"
"There's... some... kind... of inscription... on the... water canister... can't read it... not low gothic... Need your help..."
Lanric frowned and then nodded, saving and turning off his Dataslate before he put it away. It made sense. He was from the Academy, after all, and he knew how to read and speak in High Gothic. He hoped it was High Gothic. Sighing mentally, Lanric nodded, and turned to Aar-Ek.
"Aar-ek? It seems I have some deciphering to do. Be alert while I'm gone, I would hate to return to you as a mourner. If you will excuse me, Aar-Ek, Tech-Adept Cyrus."
After that, he turned and nodded to Eli, and jogged back with him, since Eli seemed tired after the run. A few moments passed and they arrived back at the room.
Lanric nodded to Maria as he entered.
"Maria, anything of interest? Other than this apparent incription, I mean."
After that, he let Eli lead him over to the water tank. Walking up to it, Lanric adopted a thoughtful pose, and spoke.
"So this is it, huh? Shouldn't be more than a second. Let's see. . . it says- . . . I. . . what."
Lanric's face turned to one of shock for a brief second before it fell flat. Like, flat as a plate flat. His very expression conveyed the term 'what' very nicely. He turned to Eli.
". . . I. . . You really want to know what this says, huh? . . . Water Dispensal Unit 4. Shipped here from Icarus V, by the way!"
Lanric's palm promptly met his face, and heaved a large sigh.
"I . . Look, if you want me to read something for you, that's perfectly fine. I have no problems with reading anything you throw at me. Next time, though. . . could you make it sound a little less urgent? I thought this was some cryptic message from the rebellion or something! If it's small enough like this one, next time, could you make an impression of it or the like? That way we can both get back to our jobs. Speaking of which, before I go back to the kitchens to make us all something to eat, is there anything else you need me for?"
Lanric raised an inquiring eyebrow.

Eli rushed headlong through the ship, acting like a madman. He screamed for the two other Acolytes to stop. Lanric decided to go help decipher the High Gothic, which was nice. Aar-ek was hungry, and he wasn't about to let his meal or his time with the Tech Priest be cut short if he wasn't needed. He filed away that Eli was unable to read High Gothic, but Lanric was. Who knows it might come in handy later. Before the two of them could leave, Aar-ek had a curt message for Eli. "D-do remember that we represent the Inquisition and screaming in a possibly enemy infiltrated ship is not wise. As Lanric and Eli left, Aar-ek bowed to the Tech Priest before asking a question.
"Apologies for the interruption, sir. But I noticed an armory back there. Would I be able to purchase some equipment from your stores and better equip my fellow acolytes for the mission ahead? This may be more than we prepared for on our home worlds."

Ah, surveillance machine spirits! Seeing those brought a smile to Maria's face. Even if she was an underhive ganger at heart, the Arbites training had instilled a real love for potential clues in her. "Really? Flying isn't the term I'd use, Old Man. More of a crawl, really." She walked a bit closer to the broken glass, kneeling down some and lightly picking it up with her gloved hand.
It was about that point that Eli started shouting, prompting the Arbite to nearly jump out of her skin. She had her shotgun in hand, and was quickly turning towards the door. "Whowhatwhere?! Do I need to shoot more cutlery people?!" Sadly, Eli was screaming down the hallway before he could answer her question, leaving a very confused Arbite in his wake.
Thankfully, both Eli and Lanric would quickly return. Lanric asked Maria if there was anything of interest in the room, then said something about an inscription. Maria's already confused face would become even more confused at the last statement. "Inscription? What inscription? I didn't see an inscription anywhere."
She followed the two of them, and listened closely as Lanric read the apparent inscription. "". . . I. . . You really want to know what this says, huh? . . . Water Dispensal Unit 4. Shipped here from Icarus V, by the way!""
Maria's face changed from confusion to the flat 'whut' that Lanric sported as well. After a moment of silence, the Arbitess would begin to giggle, the sound building in volume until it was full-blown laughter. "Oh, throne! My sides! I can't feel my sides!" she said, slightly breathless from her laughter. "I'm going to write home about this one, Old Man!"

Cyrus turns his head slightly. "Certainly. I shall send word to our head armorer to help you find anything you require. Our supplies here are, however, admittedly fairly limited, and nowhere near as extensive as you will find on Daedalus IV." He informs you. "However, we will request that you pay the appropriate fees for this privilege. Even if you are the Inquisition it has taken us some time and effort to move the contents of our armory to their current location." He stops in front of a room with High Gothic writing labelled "kitchen". A door to the far right is labelled "Mess Hall". "Our food here is quite basic, but hopefully it will be to your palate." He informs you. "Please contact me, once you wish to depart. I shall arrange transport." He adds and then begins to walk away.

Oh the embarrassment, Eli turned beat red and then kicked a chair across the room. In his fury, he cursed his lack of ability to read high gothic. Except, from his fury a cold calculating look came upon his face. Nothing on the bodies, nothing in the room.... except.... He walked over to the table, picking up the glass and walked over to the water dispensing unit. He poured water into the glass, "I think I know why they attacked like they did... " he murmured, "but we need a few test subjects to prove if i'm right or wrong. Someone resistant to poisons and toxins. And to any sort of hallucinogenic or mind altering effects. And one who isn't... I think there is something in the water, something that causes the workers to go insane.... Poisoning a water supply is cliche, but very effective if the supply is limited or has to be shipped in. Such as a space platform or a volcanic planet with access to very few natural sources of water. These workers if i'm right might not be part of the rebellion but just pawns in a larger game."

Excited to use his wealth well for the good of his team, Aar-ek hurried to the cafeteria. He wasn't going to miss his meal, and even though it was simple, he sucked down the gruel as quickly as possible. It wasn't a five star dinner like he was used to, which made his tongue start to quiver in disappointment, but his stomach thanked him. It was quite filling, and he thanked the Tech Priest as he made his way to the armory. Soon his team would be much more prepared for the fights ahead of them. Remembering the fight before, he noticed that Maria was well armored in her chest, and had a helmet, while Eli was basically unarmored, and Lanric really only had a helmet. But everyone seemed to have decent weaponry, besides Eli who seemed to have nothing. Greeting the armorer, Aar-ek would find what was available before deciding on what he wanted to equip his teammates with.

The armorer is a tall, bald man. His jaw is entirely bionic, as is his left arm, which appears to have some sort of welding torch built into it. Must be very handy, living on a ship. A tremendous handlebar mustache is present on his face. He is cleaning an autopistol as you enter. "Greetins lad. You're a new face here. Don't get a lot of company 'round here, save for when some poor sod gets his armor messed in a shipping accident. It ain't pretty I can tell ye that. So what can I do for ye. You look pretty well armored yourself. A new gun is it? Or, perhaps some spare parts for a ship? I get those request a lot, but I'm afraid if that's what ye be lookin' fer I'd go locate the maintenance room. It's up the hall, through the giant double door on yer left." He says, glancing at you. "Of course, if ye are in the right place (and I know Cyrus rarely leads 'em wrong), we have a full account of inventory over there." He informs you, pointing to the wall beside your head, where a large list is present.

Examining the inventory list, Aar-ek seemed a little disappointed. The equipment was extremely basic, and the armor was for specific parts of the body. The noble couldn't be sure if his allies had better equipment on under their clothes, so he'd just have to check with them. He raised his hand to his ear... and realized that he hadn't connected his micro bead to any of their communication devices. Well that wouldn't work, and they didn't really have time to doddle around. "It's a very good list for your guards, but as you can see I do already have a good set of armor myself. My comrades are not so well off as me. We're headed down to the surface for a routine patrol, so I'd like them to be a bit more protected in case we do run into some unsavory animals. Do you have any Flak Cloaks in the back?"
"Ah lad. I'll take a look!" The armsman lifted himself up from his chair, setting down the auto pistol and made his way through piles of pointy objects, guns and pieces of armor to the back, where he could be heard shuffling around. "Ah, Emperor must be blessin' ya son! I have two left!" He said, pulling out and dragging behind him two flak cloaks. "Oh, these numbers must ha' bin back there for some time now. But still good as the day I got 'em." He assured you. "Standard price for them if ye don't mind. I appreciate the company, but I'm afraid it's not easy or cheap to maintain this place. Some loony is always gettin' into a fight and gettin' his armor scuffed or his club cracked..."
