"Thank you!" What a gentleman! No this is how an empress should be treated. Now if only the rest of the carnival could just, well, NOT be creepy. Yeah, that would be rather nice. Rin took a step up and observed the meter. The trick with these games was that it was actually more about speed than strength. Well, at least it felt that way to Rin. Of course, you had to have strength, but speed played it role in this too. If you hit the target quicker it wouldn’t fault you if the strength behind the throw was lacking. With that thought in mind, Rin picked up the mallet. She brought the mallet over her shoulder and in one fluid motion, she slammed down hard on the target on the ground. Did she get it!?
Rin's hand closed around the mallet...but she couldn't live it. Not even once. And even while she was gripping it, horrible images filled her mind. Images of children sawed in half. Images of women being skinned at the same time as they were being raped. Images of babies being raped, of six year old girls being raped. Of people forced to toil away in slavery and suffering. She was seeing past misdeeds of humanity. Horrible things. The holocaust, darfur, random acts of violence and horror. All sorts of things wrong. It was the most horrifying slide show she'd ever been forced to see. And all the while, her physical strength could not do anything. It was as if the mallet was a million tons. It wouldn't budge at all, and she couldn't lift it. In fact, it was getting heavier and heavier in her grasp, until it slid out and hit the ground with a light thud. It should've been louder if it was that heavy. What was that all about?
But when the mallet was gone, the images faded away in seconds. Rin was saved. What had happened? What had she seen that so shocked her? Rin really should look into therapy after this Carnival. It might help with some of the nightmares and mental scarring. So, with that in mind, time passed. Lots of time. An hour of screwing around. It put Rin and Jin together in front of a ride known as "TUNNEL OF TRUTH", which was a small door that led into a tunnel that went on for a very long time. The tunnel's floor, ceiling, and walls were all narrow, and made strictly of mirrors. Those walking would see themselves over and over again, repeated infinitely all over, everywhere that they went. It was a pretty shocking experience. Go in?

As Craten arrived to the test your might game, there were two others already waiting in line. His energy senses told him that both had reiatsu, even if one was masked mostly by a gigai. The other one had nothing blocking it which allowed him to figure out that he was another being of power. The one that had it's reiatsu blocked mostly however had reiatsu of a shinigami. He despised those shinigami even though he was once one himself. The fact that the shinigami was here was probably because he was here. Since she had yet to notice him, well neither of the two had noticed him was good for him. Craten decided to act quickly before they realized he was right there. He released his reiatsu towards the shinigami, but due to it being a wave the reiatsu would also strike into the Bount. However all the two would feel was a light wind, brushing past them. Craten stood behind them and watched as the shinigami tried to lift the mallet which was obviously much too heavy. Then they began to walk off, messing around as they did. Craten easily followed, wanting to be sure that the shinigami received due pain for what they had done to him. In no time they had arrived outside a place called "Tunnel of Truth." Craten waited to see what they would do.

"You're welcome." Jin said, smiling at Rin as she thanked him for allowing her to go first. Yeah, Jin was a gentleman like that. He was born during the Renaissance, during the times when men were real gentleman. Back when chivalry was still alive. Yeah, those were the days. Science was just beginning to be discovered, and people were learning more than one language. Scholars began appearing during this time. Jin's parents made him do alot when he was growing up. He had to learn all of those extra languages, and he had tutors for science, math, and history and all that jazz. It got annoying, and Jin really hated it, but it made him the man he was today, despite the fact that he went to jail. Let's just blame that one on the snitch he didn't know was in his little group.
Anyway, Jin watched as Rin picked up the hammer and saw that she wasn't able to lift it at all. It looked like she was hesitating for a moment. Wait, what had happened to her? She seemed pretty enthused to try it out. Was it really that heavy? Jin walked up to her and offered her his arm to help her get along. Something happened when she lifted that mallet. Something felt off, and he could tell something had happened to her. So, he helped walk her along as they passed even more time. It looked like Jin was having more fun than he thought he would have. It felt weird to be there with a Shinigami though. They were his mortal enemies! Jin couldn't really look past that, but for the time being, he could be nice to her.
Now, they were coming up to something called the "Tunnel of Truths." Okay. So basically, it was something like a "House of Mirrors". Fun. Let's see how this would turn out. With everything else being so weird as it was, Jin was expecting some kind of gruesome images to pop out of the mirrors. He might see the bad sides of himself or something. See the bad things he did in the past. Mirrors let people see themselves, and so he thought he would see himself in full retrospect. This whole thing was giving him the creeps. Plus, there was that gust of wind that had passed over the two of them while they were walking. What was that anyway? It felt creepy. Maybe he was over thinking it because of the atmosphere of the Carnival. Oh well, better just go back to having fun. "What happened back there? Seems like you had trouble lifting that mallet?" Jin asked Rin. He hoped she didn't take it as sarcasm. He was asking sincerely.

"I'm tearing it all down. No structure. No Gods. No Masters. Just pure Anarchy..."
"Wh-What is...What is this..?" Rin uttered in a barely audible whisper. The second she grabbed that mallet, she saw something horrific. No...that was a complete understatement. So much slaughter...so much...was there a suitable word for this? Perhaps, but it was so shocking she couldn't think straight right now. Her mind was blown by the slide show that was presented to her. She wanted to cry, but she couldn't because she was still processing what happened!
Eventually, she got away from that dreadful game and she was with Jin at the tunnel of truths. Her body started to shiver and tremble. That's it, there's something seriously wrong with this place. She shook her head no in response to his question. She had to tell him or something! "J-Jin...I wield a heavy sword, that mallet wasn't heavy...I think it was ......th-the second I touched it! I saw..",she looked at him clearly horror stricken,"..horrendous things...that might have happened here." she whispered.
Somebody get her OUT OF HERE....

As Craten followed them into the tunnel he overheard their conversation. He could gain information while they were unaware of his presence. Though they were also caught in his deception now too which was perfect for him. Before long they would probably realize that their balance and depth were becoming an issue. Through hearing the conversation however they could probably think it had to be something to do with this Carnival. This would work even better for him since the Carnival was now disguising him and his powers from these two. Though he did wonder what the shinigami meant by the carnival being bad news. So far the Carnival was a great place for him to be in and he was heavily enjoying himself. So he ignored the comment and continued watching as more of their non-main senses became more affected. Later when the time came he would greet them and act as a friend while actually injuring them. This would get much more fun very soon.

Man, Rin looked pretty creeped out. She made Jin a little scared by seeing how frightened she was. When they finally got to the Tunnel of Truths, she told him what had happened. It seems she had seen some horrible things when she had picked up the mallet. "Wait, what? Things that might have happened here?" Jin asked her, shocked as to what she had just stated. What kind of horrendous things happened at a carnival? So then is it true? Is the threat to kill everyone true?... Jin was alot more worried now than he had been before. Rin seemed like she was the type to not get scared off easily. But this thing, whatever she had seen. They seemed to have scared her alot. "This place...what's up with it?" Jin asked rhetorically. He placed his hands on Rin's shoulders and tried to look her in the eyes. "Whatever happens...we have to stick together. No matter what. Don't leave my side, and I won't leave yours." Jin said, smiling to show her that he was being sincere. He was trying to calm her down. Yeah. Yeah. Bount weren't supposed to get along with Shinigami, but Rin seemed pretty genuine. Jin had learned to stop blaming all of the Shinigami, even though he would never really get along with them completely. He was still going to be nice, and if he was scared like this, he wanted someone to comfort him. "I can't believe I'm saying this, but if anything happens, I'll protect you. If I can't protect anyone else, then I can't protect my race." he said, losing the smile this time to show his seriousness. Jin was also the honorable chivalrous guy type. That's how he was brought up. If a girl was scared, he would do whatever he could to calm her down and protect her. Yeah, that's just how he was.
"I'm tearing it all down. No structure. No Gods. No Masters. Just pure Anarchy..."
[[ ooc: Jazz, your post cracked me up. xD I'm sorry. Lmao]]
"I'm not quite sure horrendous is the correct word. It might even be an understatement. What a sight...A massacre. That's what I saw. Children being sawed in half...people being skinned. People being raped. All sorts of horrible, gruesome things." she blabbered. Wait...what was she doing! She had to compose herself! Be ready at any given moment! She'd take a moment to relax before speaking again. "This place...it's not what it seems, ne?" she said taking out her fan and fanning herself; trying to maintain a calm facade.
"Whatever happens...we have to stick together. No matter what. Don't leave my side, and I won't leave yours." Rin nodded. Well, well, well...Chivalry wasn't dead. That's reassuring. What would be even better though was knowing if they were going to make it out of this place alive. "Likewise." She was a vice captain and he was a bount leader. They could definitely take these vile scum on!
Very suddenly, as they got out of the house of mirrors, just at the very end, something compelled them, all three of those present, though Craten would be skipped in post later due to MIA, resulting in the next post being Jin's, felt it. A compelling that forced them all to walk to the behind of a tent in the center of the Carnival, where no one was present. Then, an aura of hypnotic sleep came over them, and all three were forced to blank out. It was horrifying for something like that to happen, but not nearly as horrifying as what was going to happen after.
When they were brought awake, their eyes brought to open up, they were in view of a large clock, which told was time it was. And the time of course was horrific, something that would frighten and terrify them. What would happen, now that this time had been reached? Who knew? Either way, they weren't going to enjoy the rest of the Carnival. It was too late for that now. Rather unfortunately, they would have to experience the part that they didn't particularly want to see. For now, the time had come.
