Raphael pushed himself up and out of his bed, for once having slept a nice seven hours, and showered. It was still pretty early, really, about six am, but he was happy to have gotten some good sleep for once. Once he was out and dried, he dressed and made some breakfast, stepping out onto his balcony. There was a shout to his left, it was his neighbor, Hana Serizawa, smiling and waving to him. He'd heard her outside his door, now and again, knocking, but he'd not had the heart to come out and say hello.
"Oh! Good morning Serizawa-sama! How are you doing?"
The woman, chuckled a bit as she shook her laundry in the morning air. "Good morning, Laurent-kun. It's good to see you out and about. I've been concerned for you, this last year. You'd never leave home during the day and then I'd hear you leave late at night." Her eyes narrowed a bit, playfully. "You weren't getting up to any mischief were you?"
Raphael chuckled. "No, no. Serizawa-sama. I wasn't getting up to trouble. This last year, I'd gotten injured, so my boss had me checking around the neighborhood for late nights. I go around checking on some stations in the neighborhood. Investigating the output of the newest systems, ya know? It's important work but can only done at night, when the amount of sound is at a minimum, at least as much of a minimum as Tokyo can really get. You wouldn't believe the decibels that those things pick up!" He laughed.
"Oh, you're such a good boy. I know what so many people say about gaijins, but you're a good hard working boy."
He sighed with a smile. "It's a wonderful thing to be able to do as much work as I can. Oh. Uhm, did you have any chores you needed done? I've gotta head in to the office soon to turn in a report and some materials. I thought I could handle any chores that you might need doing on your own, yeah?" He asked stretching. "Surely there's a lot to do, yeah?"
She nodded. "I only have a small grocery stores list, if you could be a dear and pick it up from the convenience store on your way back? Oh, and it's not a big important thing, yes? I've enough food to last the end of today. Just get it to me before night falls and it'll be fine. I've even got some pocket change for you. It's not much, but it's enough for something like this... And don't you be rude and say no, you hear?" Her tone told Raphael that she was partially teasing him and that she was also a bit serious.
"Alright, alright, Serizawa-sama. You convinced me... You convinced me." He chuckled, heading back inside and packing his bag before he headed off. It was a nice day and he was simply going to Uzaki Enterprises and... well, maybe help anyone on the way.
