-Basic Information-
Name: "Name's Jikan Chichioya. I'm well aware of what it means."
Age of Death: "Died sometime around the age of fifty. Give or take a year or two."
Real Age/Age of Appearance: "Not much older than Sixty-five 'er so. Look around the same s'well."
Birthday: "Born on good 'ol New Years Day. Fittin', huh?"
Blood Type: "I've no clue what my type'a blood is. Put down B Negative on the records though."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Appearance-
Height/Weight: "Last I checked, I'm around six-foot three. Weigh somewhere around one-eighty pounds."
Physical Description: "Eh? You wanna know what I look like? But I'm sittin' right here!... Oh. If it's fer the records, I s'pose I can say somethin'. As y'can see, I'm a bit on the larger side, but a good bit'a it's bulk. Spent a while workin' on my muscle, and as y'can see it's paid off. Many'a folks've told me I'm a lot stronger than many folks my age. Seems t'be fairly true, but I've never really looked to compare like that. Ev'rybody's different, n' holdin' people down to comparisons like that's a little much. Don't really see myself losin' the strength anytime soon; I'm sure it'll help out in the field somewhere. Gettin' into some other definin' features, you can see that my hair's since gone white. Used to be brown - 'm sure that some of that can still be seen in there somewhere!" He chuckles. "Regardless... I'm gettin' old. Hair's faded, face is startin' to wrinkle, not really tryin'a hide it. Lived a good life so far- er, kinda? Not really livin' now, I s'pose."
"Got a few marks 'cross my body from a bunch'a scuffles I've been in o'er the years. This one here 'cross the face was from someone that tried to put me in the dirt fer stealin' some food fer the fam'ly. Got a bunch on the back fer the same kinds'a reasons. Prob'ly going to end up gettin' some more while I'm here; 'specially if these hollows 're as scary as people're sayin'. Can't say I'm lookin' forward to those kinds'a situations, but wouldn't've joined this place if I wasn't willin' to put myself on the line fer others where I can y'know? Oh, I've got a couple here on my calf; someone sought to keep me from walkin' fer a while. Did the same right back to 'em fer that, hah!"
"Other'n those few things, I guess my look pretty much speaks fer itself. Guess the other thing I could really talk about is my clothes? Er, or the lack of variety in 'em. I'm really just in these here robes more often 'n not. Don't really have much'a choice while here, so might 's well make the best of 'em. As y'can see I've worn 'em down a bit in the academy. Bound to happen, I guess, but if y'ask me it adds character. Makes 'em more 'me'. All the cuts 'round the sleeves, the split-open back, part'a that there leg missing... Makes 'em less borin'. Next to that, I've got my swords holstered neatly at my hip. Ain't a righty unfortunately, but ah well. Ain't gonna break some kinda tradition this place has goin' on."
"Been told I look a lot like someone named Gunter from something called Fire Emblem? Not sure who 'er what that is, though..."

-Personality-
Dislikes:
- Betrayal / Defection - "One thing 'm not too keen on is fightin' folks. Now I don't mean yer Hollows or Arrancar, or anything like that; I'm meanin' friends. Nothin' breaks my heart more'n seein' folks on the other team that I once stood with. It's... a hard thing t'deal with. I've no clue how some folks're willin' to throw others under the bus like that."
- Modern Technology - "Thank the Gods I don't need to be dealin' with this new-age tech! I don't understand half've it, n' frankly I don't wanna either. Why the folks that made the stuff decided to make it so darned complicated is beyond me! Makes me frustrated just thinkin' about it. Just don't get me involved n' it and there won't be any kinds'a problems."
- Treatment in the Rukongai - "That ain't seriously how folks're livin' their afterlife, is it? People're dyin'. People're hungry. What in blazes is keepin' Soul Reapers here from helpin' those poor people? Ain't nobody deserves to live like that if they're up here. Hell's a diff'rent story, but that ain't here'r there."
- Hell - "On the topic'a Hell, glad that place is locked. The things that're down there ought to remain there fer good. I ain't even wanna imagine the kinds'a folk that gotta end up down there. Even entertainin' that thought a little bit is..." Jikan shakes. "Too much fer me."
- A Lack of Information - "If there's one thing I can't stand it's not bein' in the know. I like havin' information available t'me. I'm likely gonna ask 'round if I need to so I can get the details; it's a surefire way t'drive me up a darned wall, haha."
Likes:
- Alcohol - "Nothin' beats sharin' a drink with friends! Doesn't matter why're doin' it; could be a party, mournin', doesn't matter. Makes almost every time better fer every'ne. S'long as nobody takes it too outta hand n' folks stay havin' a good time, I ain't see a problem with it at all!"
- Fighting - "Know I said earlier that I ain't a fan'a fightin', but this's different. I like t'fight. But fightin' the bad guys; Hollows, 'Rancar, the lot. Goin' a round with some friends can also be pretty fun, too. Ain't somethin' these old bones can handle fer too long anymore, though. Shame, really."
- Rock Candy - "See, one of my fav'rite snacks has to be those little crystal candies that pop in yer mouth. They're enjoyable t'eat, n' go well with a swig every now 'n then. I'd be willin' to share some if y'd like."
- Positivity - "Let's face it, the world ain't a great place. We're here slayin' spirit devils t'keep the folks in the Human World safe, n' this Cycle thing in balance. Ain't a pretty scene. R'gardless, stayin' glad is the key to keepin' yerself goin'. Can't get down on all the small things, else yer gonna find yerself in a bad place."
- Saunas - "Absolutely nothin' beats the feelin' of relaxin' in those saunas! Helps t'take some of the ache away. F'I could spend the rest'a my days in one'a those, I would. But, there's work t'be done, so I ain't really got a say in somethin' like that, y'know?"
Flaws:
- Rude - "Been told I can be a bit abrasive at times. It ain't wrong, I say what's on m'mind, y'know? Ain't really lookin' to sugarcoat much of anythin'. Ain't gonna go outta my way to hurt feelin's'r anything like that, but I ain't gonna be nice for nice sake."
- Indolent - "Might find me slackin' about from time t'time, but it aint' somethin' that happens all that much. I like my free time, n' 'specially now that I got a lot of it, I wanna use it where I can, y'know? Things'll get done, though; that's fer sure."
- Verbiage - "Been told I can be a lil' hard t'understand at times. Ain't gonna deny it, m'words tend t' slosh t'gether. 'Specially when I get heated. Tends t' just come out, without any kind'a rhyme'r reason behind it."
- Stuck in His Ways - "I'm too old t'be learnin' new tricks're anything like that. Fancy Soul Reaper powers n' whatnot's a lil bit diff'rent, but that ain't here'r there. I'll pick up what I need t'accomplish my work, but that's it! Nothin' else is needed."
Habits:
- Repeating Questions - "Come to realize I've a pretty bad habit'a repeatin' what people ask me. Tend t'just do it for my own clarity, but it's somethin' that might annoy a few folks. Sorry if it does, it ain't intentional." Jikan chuckles. "Just somethin' that helps me get my work done is all."
- Resting - "More often'n not, I like t'rest where I can. Workin' t' the bone can be pretty stressful on th' body, n' I ain't likin' the aches n' pains. If there's a way t' make 'em go away fer good, I'll take it. Fer now though, I might need t' take some breaks here n' there so I don't break down completely."
- Reading - "Ain't the greatest at it, but I love t'read. Books're some'a the most enjoyment you can get from... well, really anythin'. I love t' read 'em, n' won't ever turn down the chance t' do so. What're some'a yer favorites?"
- Conversation - "Been told I talk quite'a bit. Tends t'drive some folks away unfortunately, but what'cha gonna do? Some folks don't like chattin', and I certainly ain't one'a 'em."
Fears:
- Inability to Aid Others - "Main thing I'm glad'ta be able t' do 'round here is help folk. Whether the folk in the Human World 'r even some here, it ain't matter t'me. S'what makes me keep goin'. W'thout that, I ain't sure what I'd be doin'... Guess what I'm tryin'a say is I don't much like the thought of not bein' able to help folk."
- To Fall Behind the Times - "See, I know full well that I ain't fit t'handle some'a the more... 'modern' tech. Bein' held back by that's a scary thought, though. If I gotta learn, I will, but it ain't gonna be easy."
- Hell - "Said it before n' I'll say it again; Hell's a scary place. Ain't somethin' I wanna mess with if I can help it. Enough 'bout that, though. Ain't wanna be thinkin' 'bout it."
- The Dark - "Dunno what it is 'bout it, but I ain't a fan'a the dark. I know it ain't somethin' odd or anythin', but I don't like it. Y'never know what might be lurkin' about, lookin' for food'r a kill'r somethin'."
Goals:
- Captaincy - "Y'best believe I'm lookin' fer a rank like Captain. Lookin' t'make this place better. Not jus' fer the Reapers that live 'ere, but fer ev'ry'ne else 's well. Folk out there 'n the slums ain't deservin' of that kind'a life. I wanna give'em better."
- Manifesting a Release - "Given'm a Soul Reaper now, I'd like 'ta tap in'a that power most've got. Means Shikai, Bankai, n' ev'rythin' in between. Like 'ta use that power fer good, n' hopefully help guide sum' Hollows 'ta here if I can, y'know?"
- Making Companions - "I ain't gonna throw 'round the word 'friends'. 'Stead, I'd like 'ta make some companions. Most folk ain't the type 'ta like my company much, so I ain't expectin' that. Instead, jus' a pal 'er two 'ta drink with, and 'm good."
- Live A Quiet Life - "After all's said n' done, I'd like nothin' more than 'ta jus' relax. Heck, 'm sixty-five 'r somethin' at this point. Gettin' to th'point where 'm too old fer this, but ain't gonna retire quite yet. Not b'fore just startin'. I wanna help out first."
Alignment: "Think 'm pretty neutral, good, somewhere around there."
Overall Personality: "O'erall, I think 'm a good person. Ain't made many enemies, ain't gotten in lots'a trouble, nothin' like that. M' more lookin' 'ta just get along with folk, y'know? Ain't got nobody that I wanna trouble. Can be a bit rude at times, I been told, but it ain't like that. Talkin' n' speakin' ain't exactly somethin' I'm good at, n' I ain't wanna come off like that. S'mtimes it ain't show, but I think I got'a heart 'a gold." He chuckles. "'Nough 'a that, though. Ain't gon'a stress 'bout somethin' like that."
"I ain't the most energetic type out there. Tend 'ta find myself strugglin' 'ta keep up with some'a the younger folk here; some've 'em seem like they can jus' keep goin' n' goin' fer days n' days. Can't do that no more m'self. Much rather jus' relax, read a book're two, n' call it good. Maybe s'metime soon'll work 'ta fix that, but it ain't gonna be now, haha. Ain't got nothin' against 'em fer movin 'round like that, but I jus' hope some've 'em'll be a bit accomodatin'. S'all I can really ask fer, y'know?"
"Huh? People I don' like? Well, there ain't a lot've 'em. Us'ally it's pretty darned hard 'ta get me upset like that. It'd take some'ne doin' somethin' real terrible fer me 'ta not like 'em like that. Killin' comrades is p'rolly a good start, though. I ain't gonna tolerate somethin' like that. Bein' an asshole is somethin' I ain't tolerate either; pardon the French. Anyways, those kinds'a folk don't usually deserve the things they've got. Even jus' thinkin' 'bout it makes my blood boil. Don't see a lot'a those kinds'a folk though, so can't complain."
"...Oh, nah, I don't do romantics. Wife passed sometime 'fore I did... Been like fifteen years're so now? Real sad 'ta think about. So, I ain't lookin' to replace 'er. Folk're welcome to feel however they want about me, but can't say 'm gonna return the feelin's. Just ain't the type 'ta do that. Given this place is what it is, I ain't gonna be surprised if I find 'er 'ere. Would be swell, I'd say. Neither here're there though. I like 'ta think I'm pretty friendly. Jus' not in'na that stuff."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Powers-
Fighting Style: "Eh? You wanna know how I tend'ta fight? S'pose I cn'answer that. Firs'n foremost, I like 'ta get in folks' faces. M' a close fighter mos' the time. I know 'm strong, n' ya best believe 'm gonna use it! Haha. Punchin', kickin', slashin', don't matter 'ta me. It's fun regardless. Might tend 'ta use m'swords where I can, but it ain't a priority."
"Tend 'ta rely on my Zanpakuto when it ain't an option dealin' with folk peacefully. Been told it's pretty nice, so I ain't got nothin' against usin' it. Well, them. Sabaku Ikari's always comin' first, n' 'll gen'rally be the only one I use. S'a good 'decoy' Zanpakuto, if nothin' else, n' he's pretty strong in'is own right. I like 'em a lot fer' that."
"If I need 'ta, Toki Yogure c'n def'nitely see the field too. She helps providin' backup fer folk that take 'ta the battlefield better'n I can, n' I got no problem helpin' out friends where I can. Makes a fight a whole lot easier wh'n folk can move a bit faster, strike a lil' quicker, n' keep truckin' af'er takin' a few good hits. Good morale booster too, haha!"
"If need be, may jus' pop the Bankai. Ain't somethin' I like usin', given jus' how far-reachin' she can be, but if I ain't got the choice 'ta hold back? Ya' bes' believe 'm gonna bring 'er out! Bring a bit'a chaos 'ta the field, n' martyr if I need 'ta. Keepin folk alive is m'first goal, with a secondary 've keepin those annoyin' bad guys down."
Inner World: "Gotta say, this whole 'inner world' thing's kinda somethin' else. Ain't e'er expected'ta have somethin' like it. So ev'ry'ne's different, huh? Well, s'pose I can go in'ta a bit'ta detail on mine, then; picture a big, plain desert. Full'a sand n' dunes, n' just generally empty. Sky's black as night, cuz', well, it is. Little bit chilly cuz'a that. If y'look up, yer gonna see a whole bunch'a stars up in that sky. At times it looks like more'n the stars in our sky. Real crazy view."
"Toward the center, there's some kind'a tree-lookin' thing. Completely white, n' kind'a blindin' 'ta look straight in'ta. Instead'a havin' any kind'a leaves 'er anythin', it's jus' got a bunch'a branches. They look like veins, from a distance. I ain't ever seen 'em up close; too scared m'self to ever get that close 'ta the thing. Seems there might be some kind'a import'nce to it, but I ain't figured out what yet. S'like a sun, that thing."

Zanpakuto Spirit Appearances: "My Zanpakuto Spirits? Well... Which'ne do ya wanna know about first?"
"...S'pose I can talk about Sabaku Ikari first, 'n. Well, fer starters, he's a big'ol dragon. Got those four big legs, a long, long tail'n wings that'd blot out th'sun. If there was a sun'ere. His wings're like fins too, n' 'e uses 'em 'ta swim through all the sand 'round here. One moment 'es'ere n' next 'es gone. Big'ol spikes on 'is face, too. Sharp as a sword, n' I've gotten hurt on 'em before. Ain't fun, that's fer sure. Blends in real well with th' sand, too. Even when 'es not in there 'e can be diff'cult 'ta see."
"'Nough'a that, though. Sabaku Ikari can be real mean, much like 'is name suggests. Quick 'ta anger, n' quick 'ta judge. Ain't the type'a person I like gettin' along with, but ain't gonna question 'em. 'Es got wisdom n' stuff I could only 'ope fer. I can put up with a few quips n' jabs fer somethin' like that, no doubt. That, n' Toki seems 'ta like 'is company."
{Image Reference of Sabaku Ikari}
"Oh, Toki Yogore? Well, she's tha' other spirit here'n this world. Tends 'ta stay in that big'ol tree when she can, like sum kind'a Goddess. Truth be told she kind'a looks like one, with all that... stuff she's got goin' on. Big wings'a metal n' cogs n' gears stickin' from 'er back, a big'ol metal crown on 'er face, n' a whole bunch'a glass behind'er that seems 'ta show the past n' future. Real freaky 'ta talk 'ta her fer more'n a couple minutes."
"She ain't bad, though; nah, quite the opp'a'site! Much nicer'n Sabaku o'er there. Never answers m'questions, though. Seems 'ta be kind'a cryptic all the time. That n' she doesn't seem 'ta have feet're any'thin'. Jus' kind'a floats. Ain't nothin' wrong with that, jus' strange is all. Which I could talk 'ta 'er a lil' more often, but she ain't leavin' the tree too much."
{Image Reference of Toki Yogore}
Zanpakuto Appearances: "I mean, I s'pose I can share what ma' Zanpakuto look like. They're right'ere, though..."
"T'start, both Sabaku Ikari n' Toki Yogore look pretty similar when they're sealed like this. Ain't got anythin' special goin' on about 'em, both're pretty plain. Saya's're a dark brown, n' they're wrapped n' brown too. Toki's got'a little hourglass on the tsuba, n' Sabaku's got a little wave pattern. Ain't any'thn else that's really special 'bout 'em."
"When they're released though, both of 'em got sum' real nice looks to 'em. Fer starters, Sabaku Ikari becomes a sword'a sand. Blade turns copper, n' sand starts flowin' from the blade, n' coatin' it. Turns the whole blade into it, actually. Starts flowin' into the air 'round it, n' stayin' like that until it's swung. Follows the sword, n' stuff. It kind'a jus' always... flows, y'know?"
{Image Reference of Sabaku Ikari}
"Toki Yogore ain't got too much'a shape to 'er when released, though. Ain't takin' shape've a weapon're anythin', jus' n' hourglass that kind'a floats behind me n' helps channel s'm powers. As y'can imagine, a lot'ta that is time stuff. Makes fer an interestin' fight, if I do say so m'self. Th'sand in there looks kind'a like space if ya' look closely; looks like'a whole bunch'a stars're floatin' 'round in there."
{Image Reference of Toki Yogore}
"When they combine, though... Eien Sunadokei's somethin' else entirely. Whole area becomes a desert. Place's hot as heck- or cold! Either way, it ain't a place that's too friendly 'ta those that ain't supposed 'ta be there. N' by that, I ain't talkin' allies. Surprisin'ly, allies seem 'ta be pretty fine there. I do too! Haha. Quite a pretty place 'ta be, though. I like it."
Zanpakuto Release Names: "Desiccate, Sabaku Ikari!/"Tick, Toki Yogore!"/"Exacerbate the Passage of Time, Eien Sunadokei!"
Author's Note: The following section is written outside of Jikan's perspective to remain concise.
Sabaku Ikari's Overall Ability: Desert Wrath - Every post, Sabaku Ikari creates five kilograms of sand. This sand floats around the sword, remaining accommodating to Jikan's movements and remaining out of his way. Each kilogram possesses an Offensive and Defensive Statistic equivalent to twenty percent of Jikan's own Strength statistic. One kilogram of sand is capable of moving about with a Speed statistic of 1,200. Each added Kilogram to this movement reduces this speed by 80, but allows the Offensive and Defensive Statistics to apply congruently with one another. This sand is controlled telekinetically by Jikan, and can only be taken control of or altered by an individual with similar powers, and one that possesses thrice Jikan's Offensive Statistic. As an expense of one-hundred points of Reiatsu, Jikan can create an additional kilogram of sand instantaneously within Subaku Ikari. Sand used during an attack or defense is lost.
Toki Yogore's Overall Ability: Stains of Time - Toki Yogore requires all combatants track a statistic known as "Health". This value begins at ten-times the base Offensive Statistic of said combatant. If a combatant is struck, this "Health" is reduced accordingly by the Offensive Statistic of that attack. Multi-hit attacks simply deduct a single time. Healing techniques and abilities restore this "Health" by an amount equivalent to the caster's Offensive Statistic, or twice their Healing Expertise Statistic; whichever is higher. High-Speed Regeneration and other passive abilities instead heal for half this value, once every post. Reaching zero results in an inability to continue a fight; not necessarily a loss of consciousness, or death. Attacks made against this "Health" do not automatically bypass skin-level defensive abilities. Toki Yogore also sets a "Speed of Ticking Clock"; a numerical value beginning at fifty that is affected by Toki Yogore's Zanpakuto Techniques.
Eien Sunadokei's Overall Ability: Eternal Hourglass - Eien Sunadokei convers a kilometer-wide area in an expansive desert. This desert provides an endless amount of sand for Jikan to utilize, and features a Day and Night cycle. Beginning during the appropriate time of day, Eien Sunadokei takes two posts to switch between night and day. During the Day, two Ranks in the Heat Tolerance Skill are required to remain unaffected from the scorching heat. During the Night, two Ranks in the Cold Tolerance Skill are required to remain unaffected from the chilling cold. An individual not possessing the requisite Skills suffers damage to their "Health" equivalent to their Offensive Statistic, once per post.
Zanpakuto Techniques:
Sabaku Ikari's Techniques
Technique Name: Suna no Chikara (lit. 'Force of the Sands')
Technique Class: 4.
Technique Type: Shikai/Bankai.
Usable By: Shinigami.
Technique Element: Sand.
Technique Cost: Expend 10 Reiatsu points per kilogram of sand.
Description: Sabaku Ikari's sand may begin to utilize its Offensive Statistic as though it were a Strength Statistic, granting the ability to apply a crushing force upon those privy to Jikan's wrath.
How to Use: Channel ambient reishi through the sands created from Sabaku Ikari, and further weaponize them.
Drawbacks: Deceptively large reiatsu cost, given how much sand Jikan requires to launch somewhat powerful attacks.
Made By: Sabaku Ikari.
Reserved?: Yes.
Technique Name: Koya Kyoseki (lit. 'Desert Monolith')
Technique Class: 4.
Technique Type: Shikai/Bankai.
Usable By: Shinigami.
Technique Element: Sand.
Technique Cost: Expend 15 Reiatsu points per kilogram of sand.
Description: Sabaku Ikari's sand may take the shape of solidified structures and objects, so long as enough sand is present in order to produce these. The defensive statistic is tripled for these creations, thus requiring more damage to wear them down into nothing.
How to Use: Compress and compact sand together until solidified.
Drawbacks: Sand utilized through Koya Kyoseki cannot be manipulated without paying the Reiatsu point cost an additional time, and has a Speed Statistic of 0, regardless of the amount of sand utilized.
Made By: Sabaku Ikari.
Reserved?: Yes.
Toki Yogore's Techniques
Technique Name: Tokei o Mawasu (lit. 'Turn the Clock')
Technique Class: 4.
Technique Type: Shikai/Bankai.
Usable By: Shinigami.
Technique Element: Time.
Technique Cost: Expend 100 or 200 Reiatsu points.
Description: This technique serves to switch between "Contemporary" and "Retrograde" modes on Toki Yogore's other techniques upon activation. Toki Yogore always releases in the "Contemporary" mode. By expending the greater Reiatsu point cost in Bankai, Jikan can switch between night and day.
How to Use: Will the hourglass of Toki Yogore to flip, beginning anew.
Drawbacks: This technique does nothing on its own, and can only be used once every other post.
Made By: Toki Yogore.
Reserved?: Yes.
Technique Name: Isogu / Osoi (lit. 'Quicken / Slow')
Technique Class: 4.
Technique Type: Shikai/Bankai.
Usable By: Shinigami.
Technique Element: Time.
Technique Cost: Expend 100 Reiatsu points per projectile affected, or 200 Reiatsu points per being affected.
Description: While in the "Contemporary" mode, this technique becomes 'Isogu'; the affected target's Speed Statistic is increased by the Speed of Ticking Clock. While in the "Retrograde" mode, this technique becomes 'Osoi'; the affected target's Speed Statistic is decreased by the Speed of Ticking Clock.
How to Use: Channel ambient Reishi through the hourglass of Toki Yogore, and displace time.
Drawbacks: Values involved are quite small, and generally hold little sway outside of already close situations. Decreases or increases last for the duration of a single post. Affected beings with a greater Offensive Statistic may expend an equivalent amount of Reiatsu Points to protect themselves from being altered; projectiles cannot be protected in this way.
Made By: Toki Yogore.
Reserved?: Yes.
Technique Name: Gensui / Shuri (lit. 'Decay / Repair')
Technique Class: 4.
Technique Type: Shikai/Bankai.
Usable By: Shinigami.
Technique Element: Time.
Technique Cost: Expend 50 Reiatsu points per target, per post.
Description: While in the "Contemporary" mode, this technique becomes 'Gensui'; the affected target suffers damage to their "Health" equivalent to the Speed of Ticking Clock. While in the "Retrograde" mode, this technique becomes 'Shuri'; the affected target recovers from damage to their "Health" equivalent to the Speed of Ticking Clock. If desired, Reiatsu points can be paid up front to apply this effect for a duration instead of tracking per-post. Damage or healing done to "Health" through these techniques does not result in physical wounds opening up or being healed. Instead, it serves more as an "exhaustion meter". Wounds healed will be stabilized, however, preventing them from getting worse, but will not heal in the traditional sense.
How to Use: Channel ambient Reishi through the hourglass of Toki Yogore, and utilize time to alter the stability of one's body.
Drawbacks: Values involved are quite small, and generally hold little sway outside of already close situations. Due to the required mode for each version of this technique, it becomes quite easy to plan around. This does not stop techniques or abilities with associated Skill requirements, nor does it bypass them.
Made By: Toki Yogore.
Reserved?: Yes.
Technique Name: Kakudai / Herasu (lit. 'Expand / Decrease')
Technique Class: 4.
Technique Type: Shikai/Bankai.
Usable By: Shinigami.
Technique Element: Time.
Technique Cost: Expend 25 Reiatsu points per post increased or 50 Reiatsu points per post decreased.
Description: While in the "Contemporary" mode, this technique becomes 'Kakudai'; attacks and effects afflict their target over a period of multiple posts, chosen by Jikan and equally spread across all posts. While in the "Retrograde" mode, this technique becomes 'Herasu'; attacks and effects afflict their target in a shorter amount of time, treating a number of posts as though they had passed for that interaction.
How to Use: Channel ambient Reishi through the hourglass of Toki Yogore, dilating time in the process.
Drawbacks: Can get expensive quite quickly, and is situationally useful. Requires pre-existing effects, which may get expensive rather quickly.
Made By: Toki Yogore.
Reserved?: Yes.
Technique Name: Kasokudo (lit. 'Acceleration')
Technique Class: 4.
Technique Type: Shikai/Bankai.
Usable By: Shinigami.
Technique Element: Time.
Technique Cost: Expend 100 Reiatsu points.
Description: Activation of this technique alters Jikan's Speed of Ticking Clock, setting it to the total amount of change to "Health" dealt over the last four posts, divided by four, rounded down. Other Techniques:
Technique Name: Shunpo (Flash Steps)
Class: 7
Technique Type: Kidō
Technique Element: None
Technique Description and Effects:
A movement technique that allows the user to move faster than the eye can follow. The focal point that determines the basis of this technique is speed. As speed is the main point of the technique, the method is best characterized by how fast one can get from Point A to Point B in the least amount of steps. Training and skill are what determines how fast a user of Shunpo can move. Those of little skill in the technique or those who haven't used it for an extended amount of time would obviously be out of practice, causing those individuals to be considerably slower. This requires the use of more steps to move the same distance and become tired more easily in a shorter amount of time. A single step magnifies speed for that step by ten times. Shunpo uses fifty Reiatsu per step. This one is automatically learned in the academy. All Shinigami know this when created. This technique does not take up a technique slot.
How to use technique:
Focus of Reishi around the feet area and launch off into a single blurring step. It is not unlike teleportation in appearance, but it is simply extremely fast movement. It is often used to gain an edge in a single moment of combat or to dodge incoming attacks.

-History-
Birthplace: "Born in Takayama sum' sixty-'er-so years ago."
Current Residence: "Currently livin' in the Seireitei."
Memorable Figures: "'Ta name a few, my Wife n' kids 're prob'ly the most memorable parts of my life."
History: "Hell, where 'ta begin? Guess my life started in Takayama, 'round 'fifty-seven. Never got 'ta know my mother, she died shortly after givin' birth 'ta me. Shame, really. Old man always talked 'bout 'er 'ta me, said she was the sweetest, most perfect woman any'ne had ever met. Sure he was right. He wasn't no bad father, thankf'ly, 'n did a lot'a right by me. Did 'is best 'ta make sure I was cared for, had food, clothes, a roof, those kinds'a things. Good man; I miss 'em."
"Time as a kid was what'cha expect; got in'ta trouble ev'ry now n' again, picked some fights, but still stayed a good kid fer the most part." He chuckles. "Still, I went 'ta school, learned what I could, and took it in'ta the future with me. We d'int have much growin' up, n' I wanted 'ta change that. As a young'un, I took up a job workin' for the railroad when I was old enough, n' made the Yen my dad n' I needed 'ta live a bit more comfy like. Wasn't anythin' too bad thankfully. Fun, too."
"In time, I met my soon-'ta-be wife whil' workin' the trains. Still remember our first meetin' like yesterday..." Jikan pauses for a moment, lost in thought. "She was quite a wonderful woman. Kind, smart, funny, n' a whol'lott'a attitude if 'ya got 'er upset, haha. Ain't enjoyed seein' her angry, so I didn't let that happen. We got along well, n' event'chally had a couple kids t'gether. Moved in'ta our own place, n' took my dad with us. He was sick then, n' couldn't care for 'imself."
"While later, n' he passed, too. Kept gettin' worse each season, so we made him comfy before he died. Wife was devastated; she ain't had a dad, so he played that part for 'er. Hurt me, too. Still miss 'em, even if he ain't the type to show any emotions. Kids missed 'em, too. But, life jus' keeps on goin'. Can't get all down 'bout things like that. Happens all'a time."
"Time with tha' fam'ly was good. Spent a whole bunch'a years t'gether, nobody fought, n' ev'ry'ne seemed in good spirits most the time. 'Vent'chally the kids moved out'a our place, n' it was jus' the wife n' I. S'when things got bad. Like my dad, she got real sick. Sill ain't got a clue what caused it, but she didn't last a year after 'at."
[The next few sentences could not be translated.]
"...Sorry, sorry. Ain't meant to get all teary on 'ya like that. Jus' miss 'er, is all. Anyways, she ain't last long from there. She passed all comfy too, thankf'ly. Life from there was... kina jus' plain, y'know? Felt all alone. D'in't go out much, kind'a just stayed at home readin', sleepin', n' waitin' to go too. Kind'a... neglected m'self a bit. 'Ventually met the same fate, n' wound up n' this place. Kind'a strange, if y'ask me, but that ain't here're there."
"Lucked out 'parently, n' got in'ta the higher districts. Lived well here, honestly. Fact that folk out n' the further places get treated how they do's nothin' short'a awful though. People ain't deservin'a' that. What if m'wife is out there? Dad? Mom? Hurts'ta think about. Wanted'ta make sum' change. So, I looked 'round for ways 'ta do exactly that, haha."
"From there, found out 'bout the Court Guard, n' the res' is his'try. Got in'ta the academy, n' learned 'bout all that fancy sword magic n' whatnot. Made good work'a learnin' all'at. Figured I'd use it 'ta help make the world- er, worlds, a bunch'a better places. Wanna help people, n' that's that. Ain't got much more ta' tell from there."
