Thread Title: Been the Best I Can Be Participants: Luke Clyburn, Eve Timor World: Human World Death Setting: Non Death Enabled Rating: R Location: Karakura Mountains in the dead of night, in the flat rock outcrop that was once a mountain itself, obliterated during one of the so many battles that have taken place in the area. The destroyed mountain may as well be an arena, 80 meters wide at any point and almost perfectly circular. Surrounding them are several mountains, some with big gaping chunks taken from them, and to the north, a massive valley carved into the range from some long-ago cero, a small river having formed at the very bottom, feeding water into a sort of moat-like lake around the leveled mountain they stand on. Special Conditions: Circumstances: Timor has been making quite a reputation as a vigilante, feeding from human criminals was one thing, but the sheer number she has been culling has led to attention. Luke finds Timor in a Jail cell, bailing her out as the two catch up and discuss her newest hobby. Having heard of Luke's advancing career from Taka's Employees, Timor asks to see how he has grown since they last fought.
The day was waning, that sun sinking into the horizon as twilight claimed those last clinging motes of light winking out over the horizon. It had been a very long day for Timor. She had been taking a day off to relax, thinking that it would be like any other day. However, as luck would have it, she had perhaps played one of her recent endeavors a bit close to the chest. She had fed from a drug dealer that had been getting a little too close to Karakura High for comfort, and so Timor had paid him a visit. What was unfortunate was the number of 'clients' he had with him at the time. Timor always had witnesses, and for the most part most were usually too scared or didn't understand what was happening, especially if Affen was used. But....
This time around, one of the students had witnessed her handywork before, and had indeed been related to the dealer this time around. That was how officers wound up breaking down Timor's door. She was detained, questioned, and kept in the cell. The detectives had done quite a lot of work, and though they could not explain just how she had killed the kid, her involvement was cemented enough by the witness that they were planning on holding her until they knew what was up. In the end, timor knew they would have nothing. The main reason she used her powers for these murders was because they were so exotic that nobody could comme up with a plausible way she could have done it.
But even so, she was going to spend a few nights in the slammer, thinking, staring at the walls as she imagined that.....over time....the cops would begin to add up evidence. Even if they couldn't prove how she'd done it, if enough witnesses built up over time, and if a cop or two were determined enough to do some shady shit, they might just find something to pin on her. It wasn't like she could just leave Karakura. And she also didn't know if she could stop. It wasn't just about the feeding, she was making a dent in all these criminals. How could she stop? In the face of so much wrongdoing?
She honestly didn't know, and she stared down at her claws, the claws that the guards couldn't even see. Unaware of how unbelievably easy it would be for her to break out if she put her mind to it. But of course that would just make more trouble for her. Her salvation came a bit....unexpectedly. She had been about to call to the next cell and start up a conversation when one of the guards walked right up to her, unlocking her cell and giving her a nod. She was....surprised, even moreso when that voice piped up to explain her sudden freedom.
"Yer free to go missie. Someone's come to bail you out."
She was a little...dumbfounded as she was walked out to the front of the station, and she tried to imagine who it could be. Because of all the racing and such, She didn't imagine Taka would come bail her out, if anything the woman would consider this a lesson about overkill to the Nakka. And aside from her, she couldn't imagine anyone with the funds to actually free her. She was almost worried that she would walk out and see some strange business man. Some representative of whatever shitfuck faction had caught wind of her activities and probably wanted to offer her some kinda deal.
But who it actually turned out to be? Was an even bigger surprise.
”This should clear up the situation.” He said, calmly and cooly, as he handed the brown folder to the officer at the desk. The chief stood behind the officer, both looking incredulous and suspicious at the sealed folder they were just handed. Opening it up and reading it over, alongside seeing the check, they both blinked in surprise. ”Alright sir, she’s this way.” the chief said, leading Luke and the other officer to where they kept the holding cells. Leaving the office space for the cells, Luke walked quietly behind the two as he did his best to suppress the anxiousness in his stomach. Walking along the barred off rooms he couldn’t help but recognize a few of the people within them. Some of them had been people he’d put away himself and others were faces he recognized from wanted posters or suspects to be on the lookout for.
”Wait here.” the officer said, telling Luke to wait in one spot. Blinking, Luke nodded before resting his hands into his brown, leather, jackets pockets. Leaning against the wall, Luke relaxed a little as the officers went to fetch Timor from her cell. ”You’re anxious. Is something wrong?” Windstarke asked, his voice drifting across Luke’s thoughts with the chill and grace of an arctic breeze. ”You wanted to rail her, right? You’re nervous about seeing a girl you liked.” Jäger snickered, making some stupid assumptions. No, you idiot. It’s..
Luke had been keeping an eye on Timor. While he wasn’t monitoring her like Big Brother, it was part of his job to keep track of unexplained deaths or disappearances. He wasn’t any sort of trained detective, but he was able to make a few connections to Timor and a small number of deaths. While he was certainly fine with letting Timor spend a few nights in the slammer to think about her actions, he knew that it was better if he got her out before she got antzy. He needed to talk to her. "....Luke?!" he suddenly would hear, pulling him from his thoughts.
Looking up he spotted the woman who wore a surprised expression on her face. She hardly looked any different than the last time he saw her. Best way of describing Timor was saying she had a wild, dangerous, beauty about her. Like a panther. Something beautiful but always dangerous. He was glad she recognized him, at least. The small tuft of white hair on the front of his head could have caused her to be confused, but he doubted Timor was that stupid. ”Yo.” Luke greeted, before looking at the two officers. ”I’ll take her from here.” He simply said, motioning for Timor to follow him so they could leave.
When they left the police station and entered back out into the night air of the city, Luke would turn to Timor and offer her a smile. ”You look good. Nice to see that the prison life didn’t give you purple hair.” He joked, trying to be funny. ”Grab her butt.”No. Luke decided to start walking so they could get some distance from the police station. ”You doing alright?” He asked, looking at her as he asked the question.
Timor had to admit that she had been a bit surprised at some of the changes to Luke, not only in his appearance but in how he held himself. Last she'd seen the bount, he had been....well...shaky. Uncertain, unresolved, and frankly a bit weak-looking. Luke had been, for all intents and purposes, almost like a child. Unaware of who or what he wanted to be, fearing his very own shadow in some ways. She had found him cute, sure, but deep down she had never thought that Luke had what it took to really survive. In some smal corner of her heart she had always expected to hear of his demise at the hand of some enemy of greater resolve.
And she was, in some way, right. The man he had been before would doubtlessly have perished. But Luke seemed a very different man now. Confident, calm, collected. Luke all but bled the look of a confident man. It was almost startling how different he was. Even making note that his joke was delivered calmly, without that little look Luke always seemed to get now and then, as if his dolls were harassing him. Rawr The voice in her head was a bit of a surprise, her brows knitting together for a moment as it wasn't very often that her doll spoke up.
Once they got out and into the city, Timor resisted the urge to let Affen out, as the monkey very much was a little riled from the pair of them being caged for a while. "Nope! Still dark as night. I can't say the same for you though heh, looks like life had a bit of a word with your hairdo." She pointed out, a soft smile on her face as they walked. She was in one of her more conservative outfits. Those ass-hugging shorts exchanged for a set of ass-hugging leather pants. Much less skin showing, that along with the fact that her hair was tied back into a ponytail, looking much less wild.
However, she was a bit surprised at the question. "Thank you bye the way for bailing me out...." She knew that he meant more than just that. He had been keeping tabs on her, how else would he know she'd been sent to jail? She let that calm, casual rhetoric drop and stared straight ahead. "Guess you wanna know why I've been killin people, huh? I know I took you hunting a few times, but I guess I've been a little less .....careful about my tracks as of late." she murmured lightly, closing her eyes as her nostrils flared so very slightly.
"I been.......angry. That's how I've been Luke. Angry with the shit I gotta see, gotta find out about. Gotta fix cuz other people won't or can't." She murmured softly, those eyes all but glowing with a slow ferocity. Not a look of helplessness, but a slow almost jaded look, careful but still so very wrathful in itself. She let her eyes drift to a close before they flicked back in Luke's direction. "You seem a lot more put-together. Stronger I bet too. Wish I could say the same." she noted.
It was to be expected. Sure she was feeding, and the manner in which she fed made sure that she could still go outside during the day, rather than slowly turning into a walking bag of cinders. But even so, killing mere humans did nothing to waken any more of the power that slept inside of her. She knew that, and for the time being she had been fine with it. But.......if Luke had been able to keep tabs on her....others probably could too. Much less friendly people. "You don't gotta beat around the bush Luke. We're friends right? You can just say what's on your mind. You know I don't like wasting time." She murmured softly, even as Affen made low annoying squeaking noises in her head.
He chuckled a little at her reply to his joke. Glad to see she was receptive towards it. But her comment about his did catch him by surprise a little. ”I guess I’m just getting old.” Luke would reply, knowing Timor would know that was bullshit. Being a Bount meant you existed outside the normal gears of time. Luke wouldn’t be getting old anytime soon. However, at the mention of his hair, Luke saw a few memories flash in his head. Scenes of that desert painted themselves in his head. The high reaching, stone, trees that penetrated the desert ceiling. The roars and howls of Hollows and the ever constant annoyance of that immortal gnat. His gaze drifted off for just a moment before he regained focus when Timor would thank him.
”Don’t mention it.” He replied, stopping at a traffic crossing as a series of cars passed in front of them. But when Timor suddenly brought up the thing that he wanted to talk about it actually surprised him a little. He looked at her as she confessed to what she was doing. Luke didn’t feign surprise or act shocked. He knew that had been what Timor had been up to. It was why she got arrested, after all. He remained quiet as she talked, watching the traffic light turn green for them to finally move across the street.
When he was given permission to talk, Luke would let out just a little bit of a pent up sigh as he considered his next words carefully. ”Contrary to what you might be thinking, I’m not here to criticize you or scold you.” He’d say before letting his words dwell for a moment. ”I just want you to be more careful.” He’d add with some concern and care in his voice. Should he tell her? He had to wonder if now was a good time to tell her what he knew. But like Timor said, she wasn’t much stronger than when the two had last seen each other. ”It’s only going to come back and bite you if you don’t tell her now.” Windstarke added. ”Yeah but then she’s going to run off and try to bite them. You don’t know this chicky as well as we do.” Jäger shot back.
Stopping in his tracks, Luke turned his attention to Nakabakki. ”I don’t actually have much of a problem with what you’re doing. The people you’ve taken care of, the ones I could confirm where you anyways, were people I’d more than likely have done the same thing too. But you’ve drawn some attention to yourself. I think you know that if I could figure out it’s you then someone who isn’t your friend could do it too.” Luke explained. Bit odd for someone like him to say he was fine with what she was doing. Timor was, essentially, going all Punisher on people. He should have been against what she was doing. But, honestly, the people she was going after...they were people who had it coming. Luke was certain he’d have done the same thing.
”I don’t know who they are, but you’ve got a set of eyes on you right now.” Luke would suddenly reveal. He chose it would be best for Timor to know this. ”Couple days ago I ended up hitting a drug nest that was pushing something...that nobody has seen yet. Some sort of combat enhancement drug. Problem was the place was already abandoned. Everything was taken except for some documents and papers. I ended up finding a folder that had a bunch of pictures in it. Pictures of people that this group either didn’t like or were watching out for.” Luke explained, remembering how he went through the pictures and was shocked to see who was in them. ”You were among a few others.” Luke commented, flatly, so that Timor understood the situation. He chose to leave out that he was also in those pictures. But as her friend...he felt she needed to know.
Timor snorted just a little at the old comment. "Some girls are into that. Tttowr ".....and some apes." she flicked the collar of her jacket to get the monkey to cool her jets as they walked. Honestly she wasn't that surprised when he said he wasn't minding what she was doing. As she had surveyed before, Luke didn't have that innocence about him anymore. Similarly, she didn't feel too much surprise when he affirmed her suspicion that others may have had their eyes on her. The source was really the only surprise.
"Ugh, them? What a letdown..." she muttered in clear disappointment. She had hoped that maybe the catholic church would go after her, or maybe some kinda spiritual gang around town. But a buncha drug dealers? The notion was almost laughable. The idea that they were using some sort of enhancing drug didn't even register on her mental radar. Thugs were thugs, and so long as she kept her batman-like cool then dealing with them wouldn't be an issue in the slightest. However as she looked to luke, she did wonder. She knew he thought she probably deserved to know. That was sortof a transparent motive. But...
"I heard that you're a part of some kinda big company these days. If you know so much about these guys, why haven't you taken them down yourself?" she asked calmly, resting a hand on her hip as she watched him quite closely. "When I heard about it I thought it seemed kinda cool. But I mean....even I could probably handle a drug den or two. Is this organization not really...combat oriented?" she asked. Trying to avoid saying what she was thinking. That Uzaki Enterprises sounded weak. She wasn't trying to insult his place of work. Far from it. But Luke had already seen what sort of things she alone could get up to. But the way Luke talked about his own job, she got an ....impression that it either worked way slower, or way less successfully. She even began to wonder.
Had he even really gotten that much stronger to begin with? Sure he looked stronger, but looking and being were two different things. And that very incredulity showed on her face. That sortof doubtful peer, an attempt at understanding, the benefir of the doubt, any notion that maybe he was just citing a particular bad instance. Maybe she was wrong and they had taken out some kinda big warehouse and just found the main office empty? It seemed a little silly that Luke's group would go in for a raid only to find it abandoned. She had to wonder how competent the people outside of luke even were. She never was good at hiding her emotions well.
Luke simply looked at Timor. He could tell, rather easily actually, what she was getting at. It was his fault, really. He didn’t share the entire story. He had tried to be vague and hoped that Timor would get what he was saying. Seems he was going to have to let her know what, exactly, was going on. ”Uzaki Enterprises doesn’t handle regular, run of the mill, stuff. We let the police do that. Our jobs are handling anything spiritual, weird, supernatural, stuff that isn’t normal. We wouldn’t just hit a drug den just because it’s a drug den.” Luke explained as he reached into his back pocket and pulled out his phone. While it may have been rude to pull his phone out while talking to Timor, he would make a few swipes and presses on the screen before turning it towards Timor.
”This is Hans Leggio. An absolute nobody crook whose record was petty theft and possession.” Luke explained. The man in the picture looked middle aged, was incredibly thin, and looked like he wouldn’t ever be able to hurt a fly. Pulling the phone back, Luke did a few more swipes. ”And this...was Hans three days ago in Kobe.” What Luke showed her was a video. It clearly wasn’t filmed by Luke or anyone professional. It looked like it had been filmed from behind a window. Regardless, what the video showed was a police standoff surrounding an intersection.
The person in the middle of that intersection was...well the best way to say it was it was the Hulk. Except without any of the green. The gigantic, mountain of muscle, let out a roar alongside a barely tangible scream of ”Come and get me!!” before he would lift a nearby vacant police car and hurl it, as if it were nothing, directly into a circling police helicopter. Luke cut the video right before the chopped crashed into a building. ”We have no idea what he took, but whatever it was gave someone who had never worked out in his life god like strength.” Luke explained as he slid his phone back into his pocket.
Unfortunately for Timor, Luke’s concern for her safety was a lot stronger than pride in his work. ”Just so you know, though...a couple of the people in those pictures are still missing. That’s why I’m here. I don’t want you to end up like them. I’m not here to ask you to stop doing what you’re doing, I’m here to make sure you’re strong enough to keep digging this hole.” He would finally say, staring at Timor with focused and serious eyes. He didn’t want anything happening to his friend.
She paused as he took the time to explain, and give her a look at what this sort of shit was that was being talked about. Her brows lifted slightly in regards to that hulkish power. That was certainly strange, so this organization could turn people up to the point where they became on par with spiritual beings. AN unusual goal to be sure. But why would they deal such a drug to some random lowlife? The immediate mental simulation spat out an uneasy answer: Testing. Junkies were adequate lab rats to some, she supposed. She seemed to be deep in thought when Luke went on to explain himself.
However, she was a little surprised at his choice of words. She glanced up at him and it dawned on her what this was. She stopped in her tracks and gave him a perplexed look. Now THAT came as a surprise to her. "You wanna test me?" She asked, sounding more confused than anything. It was certainly an odd thing to pull out. But then again she supposed it made sense. He had no idea how strong she was these days, and truth be told neither did she. It took her several seconds to think it over before her gaze wandered around.
"In that case I hope you have a location in mind? If I recall, we got pretty messy last time you and I rolled around." she pointed out, putting a clawed hand on her hip as she resumed following him, presumably he wouldn't just go fighting her in the city. She wasn't opposed to the idea, and honestly she was still in a sort of....shock. Not sure what to think about the fact that she would be tussling with luke again. Last time they'd fought they had cost one another an arm. She wasn't sure what would happen this time around.
”Yeah. I wanna make sure you can take care of yourself. And if you can’t then I’ll help you get there.” Luke would reply in response to Timor’s inquiry. Leading her towards a parking lot, and why he parked a block away from the station, wasn’t an important question right now. He’d lead her to a black motorcycle as he turned back around when she asked her next question. ”What? Yeah, of course I do. No way we’d fight here in the middle of the city.” He replied with a laugh, knowing just as well as she did just how bad their last fight was. He still remembered what it was like being armless for awhile.
Grabbing onto his helmet he’d turn and offer it to her. Safety first, and all that. ”You ever rode a bike before?” He’d ask, not realizing just how wide of a door he had opened for a dirty joke. ”Oh I bet she's rode plenty before. Oh, poo, and you’re not single. Kekeke.” If Luke could hit Jäger right now he would. Placing himself on the seat and letting Timor climb on behind him, Luke started up his bike a moment later and within a minute the two would start their drive. The black bike roared down the city streets. Thankfully, due to the hour, not many people were out so he didn’t have to worry much about traffic.
He didn’t really say anything during the drive. With the roar of the engine and his focus on the map in his brain, Luke didn’t see much point in talking. Timor probably wouldn’t be able to hear him anyways because of the helmet. After, maybe, ten minutes of driving they escaped the concrete jungle and started heading out into the more rural areas surrounding Karakura. The country and rolling hills reminded Luke of home, back in the States, though he couldn’t really appreciate the scenery with it being night and all. But, thankfully, he knew where he was going even as he took the mountain road that had him climbing higher and higher. It took, maybe, half an hour before they reached where Luke was going. His bike pulled off to the side of the road, rolling through gravel for a moment as Luke let it slow down.
Relenting on the brake the bike finally came to a stop, with Luke using his leg as a kickstand so Timor could get off first. He’d driven them to what looked to be a rocky outcropping. He spent a moment making sure his bike was out of the “blast zone” before popping his neck a little. ”I noticed this place awhile back and thought to myself ‘man, this would be a good place to fight someone’. Unfortunately, I don’t ever get to schedule or plan any of my fights anymore.” He commented as he grabbed a long, narrow, bag from his bike and started hiking up the outcrop a little with Timor.
”Alright...here we are.” He said as they reached the perfect place for them to do this. Resting the bag on his shoulder and tapping it a little, Luke looked around a little with a few head turns. His lip stretched to one side as the thing on his mind that popped up while he was driving made itself annoying. ”Hey, Timor, before we get started I wanted to ask you something. How does coming and working for me, at Uzaki’s, sound? I run my own branch, and you’d be able to do what you’re doing with me and others having your back.” It wasn’t a really a “professional” attempt at hiring her, but he wanted to throw the offer at her. ”You don’t have to answer now. I’m just offering.” He said as he walked away, stopping maybe twenty feet from her as he took up his starting position.
Timor couldn't help but chuckle softly as they arrived at Luke's ride, both brows perking up as she inspected the bike and shook her head slowly, a hand resting on her hip as she let out an amused breath. "I've ridden while riding a bike before, I assure you that I'll be fine." She noted with an amused smirk in Luke's direction, knowing full well that the comment would fluster the bount as she waited for him to mount and promptly hopped on behind him, straddling the bike and slipping an arm around his waist. Of course, she simply made herself comfy, simply thinking that (So far as she knew) ol single boy luke would no doubt be going gaga over the feel of her chest against his back and her arm around him.
Then again it wasn't as if there were a ton of options on a motorcycle. Once did not buy a motorcycle thinking that they and their passenger would be keeping a respectable distance. Not unless you got a side-car. In any case she was more than amused with the situation and before slipping the helmet on, she'd smirk and murmur jokingly. "I'd offer you a Road Handie if I didn't think you'd crash us." And with that they would be on their way! Of course contrary to the tease Timor would be keeping her hands to herself. After all, Luke was a hero boy, and she imagined that he probably had rules about that sort of thing. Like, 'saving it for marriage' or other similar internal rulings.
She wouldn't lie, she thought such things were stupid, but she still respected the kinda guy Luke was. Once they arrived at their destination, she hopped off without a word and began inspecting the area, stroking her chin idly as she had to imagine that the place was some sort of arena from ages past, blasted into by some explosion or attack. Spiritual beings left all kinds of marks. Some on people. Some on the landscape itself. She had to wonder what kind of monster had done all of this. However as she spotted Luke putting some distance between them, she tilted her head slightly.
"Bit of a strange thing to ask. But....er....no offense Luke. But I don't really do so well with...the hero types." She murmured softly and gently reached up, flexing her claws before a slow, menacing grin spread across her lips, her tongue slowly gliding along those soft plush tiers, as those eyes BURNED in Luke's direction. But it wouldn't be a sultry sensation that swept the Bount like a wave, he would feel a WICKEDNESS in the air, a sudden riled feeling as Timor's spiritual pressure rippled. She wasn't trying to force it on him, but she was definitely getting riled up. And he'd be able to tell, as that jacket of hers began to burn, fires licking along her body as the clothing burned away.
"Zeig Dich"
The monkey king suddenly burst into existence, now wearing that jacket, with a brilliant grin spread across her face. A loud YOWWWWWWL of excitement ripping from the monkey's open, fanged lips as she opened both palms wide and then snatched her hand up, plucking a few hairs from her head and whispering sweetly to them, as those eyes slitted, grinning at Luke as suddenly the four hairs burst into flame, forming four little burning lights Each of which ZOOMED off in separate directions as a sudden BOOM sounded, as fire erupted between Luke and Timor/Affenkonig, the massive 20 foot tall thing blocking his view of them as it landed heavily on the ground.
In that same moment, Timor burst into smoke, that shroud rippling around her as she sped to thew side, aiming to sweep clean past Affen and the four wisps, intent on reappearing about three meters to Luke's left, a Black stiletto in her hand slowly breaking apart, causing that obsidian flash of scales to creep up her arm as she promptly released her Sasei Oni. As she raised her bow to take aim at Luke, promptly, Affen and those four wisps would begin BLARING out singing, Affen singing loudly enough, but those four wisps seeming to rend the air with their surprisingly loud voices as they sang simultaneously. Both Affen, and those four wisps were glowing slightly, Affen's fur-lined jacket burning as it collected heat from Timor's speed, step, as well as the release of her Sasei Oni, the Wisps each seeming to similarly draw strength from it.
"Das Feuer meines Messer, ich füttere dich mit Blut" "Feuer meiner Klauen, ich füttere dich mit Fleisch" "Feuer meiner Seele, ich füttere dich mit Licht" "Feuer der Dunkelheit, ich füttere dich mit dem Tod" "Feuer oh Feuer, nimm mein Angebot so"
Those voices rang out in unison as Timor formed and fired an arrow in the same breath, that black ice bolt streaking toward Luke's side, aimed right for the very center of his chest. She was clearly making sure that he would not be able to keep his attention on whatever it was that Affen and the wisps were doing. Though of course, the sheer eloquence and complicated nature of the ritual would make it clear that whatever it was, it was big. Big enough that timor had Affen take part in the song rather than assist Timor in the opening to their fight.
The truth of it was that she needed to shut Luke down. She trusted that he would be fine, no matter how hard she went, especially now that he was so prolifically strong. He was more or less famous now, everybody at Taka's Flight walked about him, people bragged about having taught him various things or styles or moves. He was the spiritual equivalent of a rock star. If she couldn't cut loose with him, then who COULD she cut loose around? She didn't expect to win. But at the very least, she wanted to see concern on his face. To see some recognition that she was a threat. That he wasn't just .....babysitting her.

He hadn’t been expected a yes from her. While he had given Timor the offer of joining Uzaki Enterprises, he had pretty much expected her to deny it for any number of reasons. Point was, he was expecting the no. But just because he expected rejection didn’t mean he didn’t feel a little disappointed in her decision. Ah well, whatever. He couldn’t force her to do something she didn’t want to. Pulling the bags zipper along its intended path, Luke revealed the uchigatana he had been keeping hidden, while the bag was pulled away by a gust of wind that travelled across the outcropping. Resting his sheathed sword in his left hand, Luke had to wonder how this fight was going to go.
Didn’t take a genius to see that Timor was getting excited about this. Her visual display was enough to warrant that thought from Luke, at least. Her eyes were locked onto him with the intensity and heat of a fire, causing his own dark colored eyes to narrow in focus. He could feel the aura leaking off of her like water, washing over Luke like a wave. ”She might be taking this too seriously.” Windstärke commented in jest. Timor’s jacket caught on fire and began to burn, revealing to Luke what she was intending to do.
Yeah, you might be right.
Her jacket practically exploded into flames that relocated themselves into the air before her, twisting and collecting together into a new shape before solidifying into the form of her Doll Affen. ”Hello sexy monkey.” Luke heard Jäger practically purr. The Bount’s eyes narrowed as he understood the situation a bit better now. Timor would suddenly vanish into smoke, or at least so the uneducated would think. Luke knew exactly what Timor was using. It was the Step Technique Rauch. But that wasn’t what was important. What Luke needed to pay attention to was the fact that Timor had also released that power that came from her demonic heritage.
Luke had come to learn a bit more about what Timor actually was. There was another Bount like her in Uzaki Enterprises, Vesta Zweig. As Vesta had explained it, she was both half Bount and half demon. Yeah, demon. Still working through the fact that demons were actually real. Vesta had powers similar to what Timor had, so Luke had come to realize that both she and Vesta shared a similar heritage. However, that wasn’t important right now. Luke had a lot to deal with right now. But, y’know, if Timor was going to pull out everything she had right away...then he should just return the favor, right? He would have much rathered have had a fight that built up, but if Timor wanted to blow her load right away...then so be it.
”Ziege Dich.” Luke would murmur, causing the silver wrist watch he was wearing to suddenly glow and explode into powder blue light. Cold winds released from the growing and building light, before it shattered and cracked and formed into his Doll Windstärke. If Timor didn’t want to play then neither was he. Her releasing both her Doll and her personal power did nothing more than show Luke that he couldn’t fuck around. Windstärke, freshly summoned, became a high speed blast of cold air just as Timor used her own Step Technique. Windstärke used Streifen, the Dolls own Step Technique, to relocate himself high above the battlefield into the sky above. He was now well out of just about everyone's ranges.
However, his role was not to simply sit around. High in the sky he spread his wings, causing icey vapor to scatter around him, before unleashing his arctic fury downwards. Downwards, directly onto Affenkoning, the sprites of fire, and the object that was summoned. Windstärke’s winds would press down upon them, causing the creations of fire to immediately become constructs of Black Ice. That was one of the unique features of this Dolls abilities. Fire that possessed a lower offensive stat than him would become ice when hit by his winds. This would cause the wisps of fire to become incapable of singing, as they were now lifeless chunks of ice. As for Affenkoning, well she would need to get out of the winds. How Windstärke affected the gourd was another story though.
On Luke’s side of things he had Timor to deal with. The half Bount had used Rauch to appear three meters to Luke’s side mid transformation. Luke, looking at her, flexed his hand a little as he activated Black Mantle. The shadows beneath his feet and within his clothes began to spread across his body. A skin defense that was crafted from shadows. Something he developed specifically because of her. As she fired her arrow she’d be disappointed to see Luke suddenly vanish. Riding atop a rail of reiatsu around her arrow, the Bount used his curved Schiene rail to appear a short distance away. Instead of attacking, he instead let his Black Mantle fully form across his body. As a result, Luke’s form became completely black. Black like the night. ”What else you got?” he asked as he turned his gaze away for a second to look at all the frozen flames created by Windstärke.

The ....the bird was new. Almost immediately, when Affen saw what it did to her fires, she realized thare wasn't much she could do. Tensing up she SWUNG! Launching a kick toward that bird, and that wave of heat that just.....was eaten up by that superior cold. She blinked, shocked, the monkey was, realizing that..well...she didn't have anything against this bird. It seemed to just produce wind endlessly, and so she ....well what could she do? All of her attacks were fire based, and apparently this thing could just freeze fire. Her Gourd was....there. But it had only managed to get a small portion of the heat it should have gotten, which meant that there was no way for her to actually get it to activate. It would take far too long to sing all the verses, and that wind wasn't getting any warmer.
Affen....felt a little helpless. She tensed, anxious. And Timor could FEEL that anxiety as her doll suddenly dropped to the ground, the sheer power of that wind was, already making her crack, crumbling in some places. As Timor narrowed her eyes at Luke and furrowed her brows at his sudden black defense. The hell?! She paused, about to fire more arrows when she paused. She wasn't a normal bount. She couldn't suddenly gate or soemthing and pierce through him. She had nothing. Not a single thing to get through this. And she felt a slight chill in her blood as she realized she had nothing to do to him.
Well almost nothing. She narrowed her eyes, glancing down at his feet as that lewft eye shimmered, a brief glimmer of reiatsu, getting herself ready to fire one of those bullets of cold into his legs, hopefully to freeze them, maybe shatter the first few layers of skin. It was extreme but honestly what else could she do to h-....he....She suddenly stumbled, her eyes a little wide. It was at that exact moment that Affen's stone body had gotten cold enough to crack down the center. The doll suddenly burst into cinders and that jacket dropped to the ground. A sudden slash, mimicking that last crack shot down her chest and she started bleeding as the loss of her only doll hit her like a brick.
She collapsed onto her knees, staring down at the ground as sudden agony of something so integral to her existence had been suddenly destroyed. She screamed, tears welling up in her eyes as her entire body curled up on itself, her sasei oni promptly crackling, splintering, until that black growth fell to the ground in bloody little glassy bits, her bow shattering as she slumped t o the ground and began breathing heavily, her vision swam, nausea hitting her at the pain to her soul. She managed to take another few rapid, desperate breaths, her eyelashes fluttering.
Oh this hurt. It hurt so fucking much. Ghhh Oh fuck. She clutched at her chest, even as her claws dug into her own flesh, she tried to pull at whatever was making her chest hurt so much, to try and calw it out of herself before at long last her brain just gave up, pussing the metaphorical eject button as Timor promptly passed out rather than deal with the agony of Doll Death. Her face hit the ground, and then the rest of her did, slumping onto her side as she promptly felt the last vestiges of her consciousness fade. Oh she was going to be absolutely trashed when she got back up, no doubt it would....it would take her a while to get over this. But for now, at least she had the bliss of that darkness.
Apparently, nothing. Luke paused. Frozen, honestly, as he watched Timor suddenly collapse. He blinked. Was this a trick? Was she playing a prank on him? Was this some sort of subterfuge? No...it’s not. He thought to himself as he felt the reiatsu inside her sputter out and drift into that state of unconsciousness. What the fuck just happened? Her Saisei Oni resealed itself, returning her to normal, leaving a very confused Luke as the only one standing. He blinked, once more, lifting his head as he turned to look at the other side of the fight. ”Is this a joke??” he suddenly heard as he turned, the question coming from a very irritated sounding Windstärke that descended down from the sky.
Perching himself in the grass around where Affen’s jacket lay, Windstärke glared down at the object with a look of visible disgust. As much as a bird could make, anyways. ”There’s no way she was this weak.” Luke was surprised to hear Windsärke sound so frustrated. He was normally calm, cool, and collected. He didn’t get angry. Not often, anyways. Had he been hoping for a real fight? Had he been excited for a Bount to Bount brawl? Luke didn’t get to let him, or Jäger, out very often...so the opportunity must have excited him. It was, like, blowing your load three seconds after putting it into a girl.
The shadows manifested from Black Mantle crept and retreated, revealing Luke’s skin and features once again as he sighed. ”Come back, Windstärke. I need to take her home.” Luke said as he lifted his left arm up. ”Gladly.” the Doll said, his voice teeming with annoyance, as he broke down into light and reformed into a wrist watch on Luke’s left wrist. Walking over to where the Doll had been and collecting Affen’s jacket, Luke had to accept that he also was feeling let down. Timor seemed so...confident. She seemed so sure in herself. Either Luke was stronger than he realized or Timor was just that much weaker.
Bringing her jacket over to her, Luke crouched down onto a knee and looked at the back of her head. ”And this is why I was worried..” he said to himself, knowing Timor couldn’t hear him. ”Those people who I’m, we’re, fighting are stronger than me. You’re pissing off the wrong crowd...and I’m not going to be able to be there to pull you out of the fire every time. This is why I wanted you to join me in UE, so you could have someone to help you when the time comes.” he scolded, closing his eyes for a moment before draping Affen’s sealed form over her and lifting her up onto his back. It was going to be a long drive back to the club.
