Skirmish in the Rukongai

[Zadora]

She looked between the two oddly dressed people that seemed ready to fight with them. Well the one did the other seemed.. Distraught. Consumed by his mind until he spoke and offered to call for reinforcements. They would need them if they leave them alone and leave. They just want their supplies that they need. And these odd men were preventing them from getting what they need. Their actions where starting to annoy her.

Then there was another one that was now approaching and stopped just behind the two men. Dressed just like them but this one was a female. She seemed another annoyed by the looks of it. Unsheathing her sword as she spoke. Day off? She can heave it if they left them alone. She felt the growl that she was surpassing in her throat as she looked between the three. What did they want with them? They had done nothing wrong.

Then she looked to the arm that wasnow extended out in front of her. A sign to stay back. She turned her head to look up at Rafael. The tiniest of growls rumbled in her throat towards him. Why did he want her to stay back? Did he intend to back them all on by himself? She felt like was she full of questions with his actions towards her. "Rafael..." She spoke as she narrowed her eyes towards him. Or did he have a plan that he was working on?

Then the blonde haired male spoke commanding the female. Sounding angry. Was he angry with her out burst or was he angry with their appearance in the low grade market. The male then moved on of his legs back and dragged his foot a crossed, making a line behind him then told the other two not to pass the line. Now this was like Rafael's action with her. Now was this male planning on fighting Rafael by himself? Watching the blonde direction his attention towards them, commanding that they surrender and go with them.

Releasing a louder growl towards his words but the sound was hide then the loud shouting of her friend. She turned her head to look back at him. The once angry expression turned to fury. She had never seen him so angry before. It was like the male was added fuel to a fire that he did not know was burning. Her ears flicked back at the shouting as he gave them one last warning to leave them be. Now what was their response with his last warning.

She looked back at Lolth who had stepped away. She blinking at the angry expression on the females face. She was angry as well. When she spoke, telling them to head back home where it was much safer for them. Then her last sentence had her nearly chuckling, she had said that but she still came alone with them. Taking two steps back towards her direction as she turned to look at the male seem to want to fight them first.

[Lolth Orbweaver]

Lolth had quite enough of all this. It was clear that they were not wanted here, and Lolth was more than happy to oblige them. She knew that she couldn't force Rafael to leave, but she knew that he wasn't stupid. If she and Zadora were making their way out of the human's den, then Rafael would follow if begrudgingly. Lolth had to hold herself back from attacking the girl with the drawn sword, but it seemed that Lolth wasn't the only one not happy with her. The shinigami that was talking to them seemed angry at her, but Lolth didn't care if that was actually true or not. She had no intention on sticking around to find out. She came up with a bit of a plan. 

The sword users usually like to fight in groups, at least against the monsters that they usually fight. She was sure one would follow her if she bolted, which should help Zadora and Rafael. She could hear her male friend's heart beating faster. She can hear the anger in his voice. A fight was going to erupt with or without her wanting. The only question now was what Lolth going to do to put things in their favor. She could hear the rattling of some crates not far from her on either side. People must be pushing against them. It did not sound like there were too many in the way, plus she expected them to move when things got going. She was getting out of here. One way or another. 

She looked to Zadora and motioned with her head to start heading back to the Den. She then activated her release. Lolth would grow a third pair of arms, making completing the arachnid form that her body has not taken. The white hair around each of her eyes would turn bright red warning her opponents of the danger. Her forearms would also swell a bit as her web production was kicked into overdrive. He pointed her arms to the side shooting web quickly. She could hear the people screaming and moving away as she sprayed her web hitting a few crates. She would pull hard sending them flying at the trio of Shinigami. This was more of a distraction than anything else, but once they were air born, Zadora turned. 

"We are leaving." Lolth said in a commanding voice. "Now!" She didn't wait for an argument. She made her way over to a booth and jumped on it using it to get over a wall into a nearby ally. She ran as fast as her legs could carry her. Trying to remain as stealthy as possible while moving quickly. She found a small alcove and stopped creating a small sack of webbing hiding it well. She would need to go and hope that it remains undiscovered. She continued keeping track of any pursuers with her keen senses. She didn't want to get caught up in a fight if she didn't have to, but that didn't mean that she was not willing to beat down anyone in her way.

OOC: It would be very helpful if everyone could include the details of any abilities/ techniques etc that they use in their posts from now on. Especially the people who don't have their profiles/ point banks linked in their signatures :-P

Ranth was incredibly uncomfortable with this whole situation. He didn't want to fight- it was one of his least favorite pastimes if he had to rank his top 10, but no matter how he sliced it, there was no denying that a fight could be avoided if neither side backed down. Whilst Ranth was only privy to the motivations of his own side- which in this case, meant apprehending any and all beast clansmen found within the Rukongai for questioning- it didn't seem hard to conclude that these three were going to come quietly. This left them at an impasse that could only be broken by one of three things.

The first, was that the Beast clansmen decided it was best to go quietly so that none of their members needed to risk getting hurt. Whilst it was certainly true that Beast clansmen were far more powerful than a regular soul- and in some rare cases, there existed some who could boast the power of a Captain or Espada- these three didn't seem equipped for a fair fight and if conflict ensued, they would lack any sort of element of surprise and that would suely put them at a disadvantage when all was said and done. This was the ideal scenario, but unfortunately it also seemed to be the one least likely to happen.

The second, would be that the Shinigami simply allowed the beast clansmen to leave. Although this would eliminate the chance of conflict between them for the moment, there were hundreds of witnesses to the events that had taken place here and there would be no hiding the fact that they'd disobeyed direct orders. At best, they would be warned. At worst, they could be demoted for dereliction of duty. Ranth didn't need to ask to know how the other two would feel about such an outcome- it simply wasn't possible, no matter how many times the other party protested their innocence. Orders were orders.

The third and final way that this could be resolved was the method they were on the brink of currently. One side making a move and triggering a full blown fight. In truth, delaying was in the Shinigami's favour in this instance. By now, word would have reached HQ about what was happening here and there would likely be more reinforcements on their way. If this stalemate persisted, then eventually it would evolve from a 3 v 3 into a 50 v 3... or perhaps even more.

No sooner had the thought crossed his mind than Ranth noticed the way that the Beasts eyes were shifting around- a particularly unsettling sight in the case of Lolth- and Ranth felt his own inner tension rise a notch or two. They were obviously planning something. An escape route? A plan of attack? It left Ranth with no choice but to try and put himself in their shoes- had they been wearing any- and all he could deduce without knowing the exact nature of their abilities, was that escaping would be their best bet. However, he made that judgment knowing what he and his companions were capable of, so that of course skewed his judgment...

Ranth sighed inwardly, knowing that he was wasting his time with these guessing games. For once, would it be so bad to take a proactive approach? Both Artorius and Inara and even Rin had told him he needed to be more bold- to take risks and show some backbone. Now seemed as good a time as any to do exactly that and besides, if things went well, then maybe he'd be able to minimise injury to both sides. Thus, Ranth surveyed the positions of the three enemies- for that was what they would have to be until this matter was resolved- and began to mentally chant a spell.

Just as he was completing the incantation, Lolth made her move- shooting forth webbing of some kind twards himself and his two companions. At the same time that the web emerged, Ranth flung forward his own hand and shouted "Bakudo #62: Hyapporankan!" In response to this shout, a brilliant octagonal pillar of violet light burst forth, headed straight for Raphael. As the pillar travelled, it suddenly multiplied in mid air in such a way that within moments, no less than thirty identical pillars shot at incredible speed towards not only Raphael, but also Zadora who was standing beside him.

Ranth's logic when choosing his target had been simple. Lolth had already moved someway apart from the other two, so aiming for her- when she looked to be the most agile of the trio- would have been the least efficient. In addition to that, Raphael was the largest and most likely most capable warrior, so locking him down first would make things considerably easier for them to deal with the other two. Given Zadora's close proximity to Raphael when combined with the speed and scope of Bakudo #62: Hyapporankan, there was also a very good chance that she'd fail to avoid the technique as well. Finally, the last benefit to his use of the technique was that several of the pillars met with Lolth's webbing and completely tore them apart without slowing (class 4, 800 RS due to incantation).

the result was that Lolth would successfully make her retreat, but her companions would not be so lucky as they found themselves assailed by a literal rain of violet pillars that moved almost faster than the eye could see and possessed enough force to not only pierce the body of anyone (or anything) unfortunate enough to be hit, but also send them flying and nail them to any solid surface they came into contact with- rendering them immobile in the process.

This was it, the first blow had come from the Beast clansmen, but the Shinigami had retaliated so quickly that it would be obvious to anyone that if Lolth had waited even a moment, it would have been the Shinigami who would have struck first regardless of what she or any of them would have said or done. "Focus on these two, the third one will either have to come back to help them, or I'm sure the higherups will be pleased if we manage to bring back 2 out of 3". It was a cold assessment, born of pure logic. With Lolth's retreat, this had become a 2v3. In addition to that, if either of the remaining two Beastclansmen failed to escape Ranth's attack, then the situation would turn into a 3v1.

Technique Description and Effects:

A single rod of violet reiatsu is hurled at the target. On its way, it suddenly splits into several rods at once, which then pin the target to any nearby wall-like surface. Their body is then totally immobilized if this hits.

How to use technique:

It needs the caster to aim the casting hand at the target, not unlike any traditional Hado.

Incantation and Effect:

The number of rods is typically fifteen, but will double to thirty and will allow this to be used on up to two targets at once if incantation is used. Incantation unknown.

[Musuhina Kesshino]

It certainly looked like things were starting to heat up now. The leader of the clansmen had reached his boiling point and his friends looked like they were ready for a fight themselves. And on top of that, the gap in time for making a plan was getting smaller and smaller by the second. Musuhina admitted to herself that she shouldn't have been as firm as she did, throwing out an ultimatum like that. Then again, she was kidding herself. She acted like a bitch all because she lost a few minutes of time to herself. And starting up a fight in the middle of the Rukongai because of that was definitely going on her list of regrets.

But it was way too late for apologies now. Right now she had to come up with a plan to, at least, put up a fight against their opponents. The beast clansmen were known to have a leaning towards physical combat. So odds are, Musuhina was already at a massive disadvantage there. To make matters worse, Wycliff would most likely activate his release, something that Musuhina didn't even need to waste a second of thought on to figure out that that would be bad news for everyone if someone couldn't keep him in check. Something she figured out the hard way after being on the receiving end of it herself before.

As for their opponents though, she didn't have much of a difficult time figuring out what they were about in broad terms. The cheetah behind the leader would obviously be the fastest out of them if the world of the living was anything to go off of. The spider that was some distance from them might have some poison up her sleeve in some way. Odds are fighting her would be Musuhina's best chance, and even then, she'd probably be at a disadvantage. And just from looking at their leader...well he was definitely strong at first glance. And while he might not be as fast as the cheetah, he'd still be difficult to handle. And all of this with the possibility that any of them could run Musuhina over like a freight train.

Odds are she'd have to keep close to her allies and work from there, answering their enemies attacks with her own while attacking with her allies as well. She wouldn't have much of an active presence here, focusing on assisting and countering while trying not to get herself killed. Then again, that isn't much of a change from what usually happens anyway. But in the midst of thought, she snapped back to reality at the sound of Ranth's bakudo being fired. It looked like it was time to finally get things started.

Deciding to use what time she had left wisely, she'd decided to break out something of her own to add to what she had. She drew Shinku Ko and placed her middle and index finger on the flat edge of his blade, slowly running them along it while reciting the incantation. "The hopeful hand rides upon steel. All in existence becomes malleable to my touch. Swords become the ocean and lash at my enemies like rain. Mizu no yōna nagare!". As soon as the last syllables left her mouth, Shinku Ko would be enveloped in the light blue glow of reiatsu before Musuhina put herself in a readied stance. And upon further inspection it looked like the spider had fled the battle. If only it were that easy. In any case, Musuhina would stay at the ready, prepared to meet the beast clansmen head on if it needed to happen.

This had developed into something that Rafael despite his adamant refusal of the shinigami along with his aversion to physical conflict against them couldn't stop now. It was clear that the shinigami were going to attempt to assert dominance over both the girls and himself simply because they didn't believe that they hadn't stolen the deer or attacked anyone. The nerve of these shinigami they were all the same just like humans. Forcing others to comply to their ideals and opinions as if they were fact. He wouldn't stand for this his family wouldn't be pushed around like trash. If he had to be would beat them down until they learned he wasn't to be treated like some sort of object or lesser life form.

It appeared though that despite the hostile actions between both groups neither of the leaders of either group would be the first to act. Rafael could feel the adrenaline rushing throughout his body and while his senses weren't nearly as attuned as Lolth's he felt like he could tell both her and Zadora were almost dancing on their toes ready to run. Just like that though as if on cue Lolth took action activating her ability and right away firing out a net of webbing towards the Shinigami.

Rafael hadn't been expecting Lolth to be the one to take the first action in this conflict yet he couldn't complain with what she had done as the situation didn't deem her action ineffective.  If it wasn't due to the seriousness of the situation Rafael might take offense to Lolth yelling at him or trying to tell him what to do. She was his friend and the small group of Beast were like most others that were controlled through pure dominance instead staying together out of safety reasons at first and then familiarity. Lolth wanted to run away and perhaps she was right to do so. Rafael had the urge to smash all of the shinigami for how they had been speaking yet doing so this close to their headquarters would be suicidal.

He though didn't have enough time to get away yet hopefully Zadora would. The Shinigami dressed in virtually all white cast one of the strange spells that most of the shinigami that Rafael had come across so far seemed to rely on. This spell wasn't like any of the others that he had seen so far though. Instead suddenly what looked like a pole appeared that was purple and suddenly was thrown at him. Shrugging his shoulders upwards while pulling his right arm forward Rafael swung the buck from him to smack the purple poles away from him.

In the moment that followed Rafael bent his knees only to them jump backwards as hard as he could sending himself backwards down the street of the Rukongai hundreds of meters. As he was sent backwards down the street Rafael an expression of anger written across his face as he thrust his eighth arm forwards. He had only realized a few days earlier that when he threw the majority of his strength behind a physical attack he was able to achieve something he would have nothing only thought capable in fiction. The shockwave that was send down the street would smash into all three Shinigami if none of them moved with a force of 750. Whether it worked or not though it was certain that the battle had started.

[Zadora]

Everything was getting out of hand. With both her and Lolth thinking of escaping from the escalating situation that they were in. She glanced back to see that Lolth activated her released. Shivering at the site of a third set of arms. She looked more spider like now then she did before. Then webs shoot out of her hands as she pointed her hands towards a direction. Seeing her pull hard then the carts the webs were attached to were sent flying towards the oddly dressed people.

This was her chance! Spinning on her heels to face Lolth. The distance between the two of them rather far as Lolth made a break for it as well. She turned her head to look at Refael. She felt a small amount of regret as she seemed to be listening to Lolth. Her eyes watched the movement she f the strangely dressed people. Then one shot something out. A purple pillar was shot towards them. She turned from Refael and ran.

Crossing the distance from where she was to the wall that Lolth jumped over. Away from the pillar. She looked back towards him. Her eyes widen as the sight of the one pillar split into multiple pillars. Worry welling up in her but she knew he could handle himself. She jumped over the wall. Once she landed, she turned her head to watch Lolth run down the alleyway. She keep where she was.

She wanted to wait for Refael. Her ears pinned backwards. Worry gripping her heart but she wasn’t a person who likes to fight. She clenched her fangs in irritation with her lack of helping her friend. But maybe he will follow them? A thought she hoped he would do. She glanced to their left down the alleyway that Lolth went. The female completely out of sight be now. Maybe she should hide as well?

[Lolth Orbweaver]

Lolth heard Zadora catching up to her after she laid her first egg sack. Lolth was trying listened carefully, but she didn't hear Rafael's heavier footsteps behind her, nor did he smell him coming. She swore the male's stubbornness. Lolth knew that he was strong, but doubted that even he would be able to take on all three of them at once. Lolth looked over at Zadora with her milky, pale, eyes a serious look in them. "Damn, it looks like we are going to need to help the fool out of this mess." She looked away concentrating on forming another egg sack standing protectively over it. It seemed that they were not persued yet, so the first one was still hidden and safe. 

"I need you to go back and help him. Take them from the flank or back if you have to, just keep them distracted." Lolth looked back at Zadora with a large smile on her face. "Don't worry, help will be coming." She said addressing the none spoken worry. "Just go!" She commanded more aggressively. She was still able to monitor what was going on fairly well from even this distance. Using her hearing, and sense of smell, she could tell if someone was going to come her way, as well as know if Rafael was in serious trouble or not. Even though she wanted to avoid this fight all together, she was still willing to help her friend, just not as directly as they would think.

{Abilities}Class 6;


Sticky Web: Upon contact, the web instantly takes hold, and is able to hold up to 300 physical strength without being moved. Lolth can generate a ten foot thread of web a the cost of 25 reiatsu at a speed of 300. Any spiritual attack with higher than 300 strength or class advantage will be able to cut through the web.


The Brood: Lolth is able to form an entire large egg sack for 50 reiatsu a piece with a durability of 200 After two posts the eggs will hatch, and twelve large spiders will emerge from each egg sack. The large spiders will start out the size of small dogs with 100 in each stat. At the end of each post those that live will grow larger and increase their stats by another 100 capping at 300 stats. She can also control her young directing them like a general directing her army. She can lay up to two egg sacks in a single post. Lolth's young can use the same techs as their mother, but to a lesser degree. The strength of any web used is 25% of Lolth's in the first level and increases by 25% per level capping at 75%


Paralysis Bite: After a bite with her venomous fangs, the venom coursing through their veins will cause their muscles to lock up and make it difficult, if not impossible to move. After paying 50 reiatsu upon the bite, it takes 5 posts for the venom to take full effect relying on Lolth's highest spiritual stat. Every post decreases the strength and speed of the afflicted by 10%. After the last post the muscles lock up fully causing the victim to be completely paralyzed. Since the Spiderlings can also use this tech, if they bite the target, then the spiritual stats of Lolth and the spiderlings all combine in strength. In addition each bite hastens the effects by one post. Each point in poison resistance will cause the poison to not take full effect. A 1 in Poison resistance will only bring down physical stats by 8%, 2 by 4%, and a 3 would completely negate it. If an ally has 250 HE, then they can remove the poison, and if the target has at least 400 HE, they can remove it themselves.

[Wycliff]

Wycliff sighed, he had hoped that things wouldn't of deloved into a fight, however he had a feeling the moment that he heard the speaking of the beastclan who appeared to be the leader of the trio. The aggression that it gave off as he simply asked them to come with him given they were looking for beastclan that had been responsible for murders. He didn't think that these were the guilty ones, but none the less he had orders to bring in any beastclan. Now however with them attacking first without proper provocation would be wanted by the Gotte for attacking shngami. He felt upset, but he knew that there was nothing he could do except try and argue for a less severe punishment from central 46.

With the first attack coming from the spider like beast clan and not the leader himself Wycliff didn't waste any time in doing what he knew he had to do. This would be a fight, the only thing he could hope for is that Ranth and Musuhina would take his warning of not crossing the line he had drawn in the dirt with his foot. What would come next would be a shock to those still there. Ranth, Ranth had seen Wycliff's release once before, but Musuhima had never seen or known Wycliff's release.

So using me without a care for them Chokudo's voice echoed in his mind as Wycliff mentally prepared himself for what he was about to do. No I worry that I'll harm them, but I know if I don't use you we might not survive. So I'm betting that you don't want to die. There was another laugh from Chokudo as it spoke again. No I don't want to die, but that's not why I help you, there's another reason, but you never ask the right question. From then Chokudo's voice became silent and left Wycliff without an answer.

"Just one taste, Chokudo." Wycliff spoke aloud. The reiatsu in the air around Wycliff felt sick and heavy as a light shined from his blade turning the snow white sword that he had turned into a monstrous form a large grey great sword that had the skull if what seemed to be a man with horns spewing from the base of the skull wrapping around guard of the blade. From both his blade and his body white powder would fall down slowly creating a small blanket of what looked like snow around his feet. Wycliff had release and now there wasn't anything holding him back from attacking. The idea of taking in the beast clan in peacefully was now no longer what he wanted, no instead he wanted blood, he wanted their blood spilled in the streets and he would have it.

He would start with the weaker ones breaking the against his will and forcing them to bow to his own power. He knew very well how addictive his cocaine was and much more how effective it was in making friends fight one another as they try to get what little cocaine he offered them as a reward for killing for him. He had an idea as to which were the weak ones given the way they acted around the man, it was clear that the females were weaker than the male, and he was more than sure that the two of them were weaker than him, He had his targets and he would go after them.

That was the plan till he saw both the spider and the white female tiger ran from the fight towards an alleyway. It looked as if they were weaker than he originally thought, if they ran at the thought of a fight that meant that they would be too weak to actually put up a fight. However that meant that he could use them for something else, instead of crushing them he would get them hooked on his drug and make them attack the stronger male . Using his own allies against him would be the best revenge against the beastclan that had dared to go against the orders they had given him earlier.

It was at this time that Ranth had launched the first kido spell towards the male beast clan. Wycliff didn't care if the kido landed or actually worked. He had his own targets to go after and he wasn't going to lose them from them simply letting them hop over a wall. He acted dragging his blade against the ground as he ran towards where they had gone. Seeing the wall he used his shumpo to help jump over the wall and look into the street from the air. As he looked he smiled seeing exactly what he wanted to see. There in the middle of the street was one of the females. He saw that she was looking back at where he had came from. If she wanted to run back and help it was too late, now she would have to deal with him before she would be able to try and help the other one.

In the air he narrowed his eyes at the beast clan. He started in his mind reciting the incantation of the kido that he wanted to use against this beast clan. Carriage of Thunder. Bridge of a spinning wheel. With light, divide this into six! Bakudo #61: Rikujokoro .His aim was directed with his arm, he aim was the beast clan herself. The kido would appear without warning around the beast clan. Each of the six bars of light would suddenly and rapidly slam into the female pinning her in place keeping her from moving. This was if she wasn't able to actually dodge this kido. He wasn't.t sure as to how much this female had seen in terms of kido, if it wasn't alot then she might not know what he was up to with this one or what it would do. However he knew that the next kido he was going to use would be much harder for her to dodge, in fact for most it was almost impossible.

By the time his feet touched the ground his first kido would have landed or missed depending on the actions of the beast clan. If she had been captured by his kido he would raise a finger and smile as he started to recite the kido in his mind. If by chance the female had actually managed to avoid the kido he had fired at her while he was in mid air he would wait till she stopped moving from escaping the kido. The moment that she would stop moving he would focus back on where she was and raised up the tip of his blade in a defensive stance. This was a bluff as he used the tip of his blade to aim the next kido he would fire out which would, like the first be recited in his mind without warning.

Either way the result of the first kido would only be useful to him insetting up the next attack. So if it had missed or failed, it wouldn't matter. His first kido had been set up for this one.Shoot forth from the heavens and find your mark. Soundlessly. Cautiously. Swiftly. Make yourself known by your bite and curse those who condemn you. Hado #50: Mabarashi Dangan As soon as he finished the incantation a small unsensable orb of reiatsu shot out at an impossibly fast speed right at the beastclan. This orb once it hit something would explode outwards sending shrapnel everywhere with punching power twice of his own reiatsu strength. This was a powerful and deadly kido. One he prided himself on being able to use whenever he needed to.

[Ranth]

Ranth's primary objective of thwarting Lolth's attack had been satisfied, but unfortunately the same could not be said of his secondary objective- which was binding one or both of Raphael and Zadora. In a tremendous display of strength, Raphael had simply swatted the continuous barrage of pillars away using the deer carcass as a kind of bat. This resulted in the corpse being obliterated, but bought the enormous Beast Clan member enough time to hurl himself down the street at preposterous speed and left a small crater in the ground where he'd pushed off.

At the same time, Zadora had taken a leaf out of Lolth's book and elected to leap over the wall that the spider Beast clansmen had originally tried to escape over. This left the current state of the battle looking remarkably different to what it had been only a few seconds earlier as Raphael was now over 200 meters down the street to Ranth's right, whilst Lolth and Zadora had both fled over the wall directly opposite the mouth of the alleyway that the Shinigami had originally entered the street from.

In the time it had taken for Ranth to trade attacked with Lolth and the other Beasst Clansmen, Mushuhina seemed to have prepared herself for battle in some way, though Ranth didn't recognise the incantation or the name of the ability that she'd activated. All Ranth knew was that the woman was now enveloped in a faint glowing aura that indicated that she'd likely empowered herself in some way. Wycliff on the other hand took things to the next level altogether and activated his Shikai- something that Ranth recognise to a certain degree thanks to a prior mission that this ability had played a key part.

However, Ranth knew enough about his friend's release to also know that it was a double edged sword. Not in the sense that it presented any danger to Wycliff, but rather to everyone else who was unfortunate enough to come into contact with it. Thus, Ranth's top priority became warning Mushihina about what they were dealing with. "That's Wycliff's Shikai and it creates a very potent powder that can wreak all kinds of havoc with the bodies and minds of anything it comes into contact with. It doesn't discriminate friend from foe so don't touch it and absolutely don't breath any in", he warned her even as Wycliff launched himself into the air and Ranth took several steps away to ensure that none of the lingering powder was anywhere near him.

"It would be best not to get caught up in Wycliff's battle if we can help it. If we can hold off the big one until he takes down the other two, then we should be able to secure victory", Ranth continued. "Can you tell me what the technique your using does? I think that the big Beast Clansmen is the strongest of the three and seems to possess immense physical strength. I know that I can't fight him head on and I'm going to go out on a limb and say that you probably can't either", he spoke quickly- outlining his thought process for the benefit of his companion in this battle. "Our best bet is to try and keep him distracted without actually engaging him. What does that technique your using do anyway?"

If he understood what kind of fighter Mushuhina was, then it would be easier to come up with a plan. As things stood right now, from what he'd witnessed of Raphael's strength, he didn't want to get up close and personal for any kind of contest of strength, so his only real option was to keep him at bay using long ranged attacks, but he had no idea what the woman beside him was capable of. For all he knew, maybe she was capable of overpowering him despite what her outward appearance would suggest. The only thing he knew for sure was that he didn't want to be anywhere near Wycliff right now and he had faith that he would be able to deal with a 1v2 situation so long as he managed to work his 'magic'.

Taking a deep breath, Ranth emerged from the alleyway which had sheltered them from the shock wave from Raphael, Ranth turned to his right to look in the direction that Raphael had gone. It was amazing just how far the Beast Clansmen had traveled in a single leap- easily clearing two football fields in one go- but that suited Ranth just fine. He'd moved far away from the battle, which meant that it would take him precious time to return to support his companions, or perhaps even longer if he didn't leap back using the same method, which Ranth thought would surely be an exhausting effort to pull off repeatedly.

Thus, he just moved into the street and waited, hoping that just his presence would be enough for Raphael to hesitate and take a more careful approach with his return to the fight. Every second that he wasn't helping Lolth and Zadora was a step closer to victory for the Shinigami after all. He just hoped that Raphael wasn't smart enough to realise that fact as Ranth raised his finger and fired a byakurai down the street towards his enormous foe. It was a long shot- literally- but his intent was to force the Beast Clansmen into cover so that he wouldn't just come sprinting down the street at them. Though if he did that... then perhaps Ranth wouldn't need to worry about stalling after all as he did have a number of ways to blow Raphael away if he got too careless in his approach.

[Musuhina Kesshino]

Musuhina had been taken by surprise when she saw the faster of the female clansmen dart away from the battle. She figured that she'd stick around and help they're leader. Then again, Musuhina expected Wycliff to stay and help too. So from the looks of things she'd have to keep on her toes and roll which whatever punches fate had decided to throw her way this time around. Then again, how boring would things be if everything went according to plan anyway? Her expression turned more serious than usual once Wycliff activated his release though. From the moment she saw that great-sword showed itself, the memories came flooding back to her.

A sunny day in the 4th Division training grounds turned bloody because of a light-hearted theft of candy. It'd make her crack up a little in hindsight if she didn't take a massive blade to the stomach by the end of it all as well as getting parts of her feet chopped off. It wasn't the fondest of memories she had, but it was a learning experience nonetheless. You don't rush in and be reckless without some kind of plan in mind. And that was definitely a lesson she'd taken to heart since then. From the looks of things, the cocaine was also in the air as well. Thankfully, she could wade through an ocean of that stuff and come out healthier than before. So all she had to do was mind what Wycliff was doing and where he was at, and she and Ranth wouldn't have too much trouble from him.

Then again, they had quite the issue staring at them anyway. A massive panther that looked far stronger than the two of them combined, and they had to take him on. But it seemed like Ranth had the right idea about teamwork and from the sounds of things, he knew about Wycliff's powers as well. "Don't worry, I'm more than familiar." she said as some of the powder clung to her arms, drying them up and causing them to briefly crack, only to be healed a few seconds later. "And you're definitely right about me not being able to take him head on. I'd get torn to shreds. And you're also right about us needing to wear him down until Wycliff gets back."

"As for this technique of mine. It allows me to bypass an opponents defenses, meaning I can cut right through them like wet paper. Problem is that my zanpakuto is still every bit as fragile as it always is, so I can only risk using it when my other sword is blocking another attack. If I didn't, Shinku Ko here would be nothing but a bunch of shards and I can't allow that. And as for the mountain of fur in front of us, I'm willing to bet that strength and speed of his isn't going to matter if we sever a few tendons in the right places. You can leave that part to me, but if you have a chance to wear him down, take it."

"Think of it as a game, and the objective is to weaken a superior opponent as much as we can without getting ourselves killed. And I'm willing to bet we can handle this one. If push comes to shove though, expect me to get in the way. I might not be able to fight as well as others, but I can certainly take a good amount of punishment.". And with that said, the leader of the Beast Clansmen flung himself backwards before sending a shockwave rippling down the street. Unfortunately, Musuhina was incredibly slow and taking the time to explain her plan left her guard lowered by a good bit, causing her to be flung back, despite her attempts to avoid it. The momentum hurled her through a wooden wall and into a nearby house, leaving several splinters embedded in her body along with a shard of broken wood stabbing her thigh.

She grit her teeth to bare the pain as she yanked the wood out of herself before limping away down another alley, using the blood from her wound to lead the panther towards her instead of Ranth as her body regenerated the damage she'd taken. With any luck, they'd hold out just enough for Wycliff to come back to them.

[Rafael]

(Sorry about the wait guys been sick. I'm posting from my phone I'll add the reiatsu amount and everything else as soon as possible.)

These shinigami were the same as all the others the only difference that Rafael could tell at the moment from the brief first moves in this exchange between both their group and his pack was that these shinigami were stronger than the others that he had fought previously. This was going to be a difficult battle even if Rafael didn't have to worry about Lolth and Zadora yet he wasn't the kind of guy that could just forget about his friends. The fact that they were being attacked by the shinigami as well made him angry, but not the over the top loud sort instead it was smoldering burning with in him. He couldn't remember being angrier than he was right now at anything and he was ready now to show the shinigami and everyone else that he and his friends were garbage that could be pushed around like everything else.

He had leaped down the streets further than he had expected yet he had been faced with a spell that he hadn't seen from any shinigami before and leaned on the side of caution over aggression. There was some distance between where the shinigami had been and where he was now. He didn't have any talent at sensing the energy that everyone seemed to be able to use in one way or  another, but as he stood straight and began to formulate a course of action he saw something in the air. The blonde shinigami was in the air now and it looked like his sword was bigger and . . .a different color?

This was it! Months ago Rafael had faced off against. Shinigami with snow white hair that could somehow manifest white fire from himself in a way similar to a Beast. He had been the one to tell Rafael about the shinigami and how they weren't humans. How they were called Beasts. Most of what he knew came from that man. Including the knowledge that the shinigami could change their swords to reveal their true power. That had to be what this blonde shinigami had done. Whatever his ability was Rafael didn't need to know all he knew was that he would have to take them down as fast as he could now. He was going after Lolth and Zadora based on his position in the air. Rafael wished he could simply trust in his friends to beat this shinigami, but that wasn't part of who he was. Throwing a punch forward with all his strength in the direction of where the Shinigami had been standing Rafael started his assault.

The punch that Rafael just threw was the hardest that he had done in the last few days. It had only been a week ago while training during the day in the caves of home that the large panther had realized that his physical strength had developed to the point that he could now when he really tried and gave it most of his might at once that the air itself seemed to carry the force of his muscles. He didn't really know how it did or what to call it, but that wasn't important. What was though was the fact he could attack from a distance now like the shinigami did if he couldn't get close enough to strike them directly. Now sending out the air to attack for him with a force of 750 the air ripped through the structures of dried old wood on the way towards the shinigami. It would be loud although it was fairly fast. The air would reach both the white haired shinigami and the loud mouthed female after a few moments carrying with it the broken sections of wood that would likely bruise and cut the shinigami as well if they all collided.

It was only a moment after Rafael threw the punch in the direction of where the other two shinigami were still standing when he shifted his feet and focused his energy into the bottom of his paws. In the next moment Rafael wasn't on the ground of the Rukongai anymore instead now in the air above the district of spiritual citizens. He still wasn't the best at utilizing the shinigami movement acceleration technique that he had been taught by the massive boar beast. Now though despite his lack of skill at using it he was merely six feet from the blonde shinigami as he stopped behind him. He couldn't reach him with his arms he was just barely out of range from the massive reach that Rafael possessed yet that was only with his arms and legs. Rafael hadn't gotten completely accustomed to it yet, but now as the shinigami cast his spells out at Zadora the long pitch black tail of the panther Beast would wrap around the shinigami's neck and throat.

Rafael would squeeze as hard as he could with his tail as he tried to secure the hold around his throat only to then pull with his tail to bring the shinigami close to him. If it worked then Rafael would do his best to deliver two twin elbows down on the shinigami's shoulders which if successful would definitely break the shoulders along with damage the surrounding bone and flesh. One thing was for certain though. Rafael only had this chance to attack the shinigami in this moment simply because he couldn't form the solidified air like the shinigami. He was going to fall back down to the Rukongai in just a moment which was why he had to make it count right now.

[Zadora]

Zadora looked at Lolth for the moment. She moved closer to her as she watched her. She turned her head to the side to look back behind her. Hoping for Rafael was right behind her. Waiting a few moments and she knew he was staying to fight. And it seemed to Lolth knew that too. She heaved a sigh at her words then slowly nodded her head to the other females words. "Yeah I know.. " She mumbled to herself and the other female. She turned her head to the side when she looked away, with the female forming other sack and was standing over it protectively. She was thinking of what to do.

Should she activate her release? She shifted on her paws then jumped at the suddenness of Lolth's voice. She turned her head to look back at her and finish listening to her. She blinked slightly then perked a brow. Help will be coming? She turned on her paws and moved towards the wall that separated her from Rafael. Bending down slightly preparing herself to jump over the wall when something caught her upper peripheral vision. She lifted her head to spot the blonde shinigami above them. The black fur on her spin rose and a growl rumbled low in her throat. Can't they see that they wanted nothing to do with this fight?

"We have someone coming Lolth." She called out as she inched backwards back towards the spider woman. Flexing her paws, extending her claws from her pads. She started running under him, Moving as fast as she could. She skidded to a stop approximately fifteen feet from where she was in just moments to see golden pillars clash together where she once was. She furrowed her brows for the moment. What was that? She shook her head and turned and started running again. Heading back towards the fence. Jumping over it and landing on the other side. She lifted her head and looked towards the two other shinigami but no Rafael.

Where was Rafael? Her ears twitched at the sound of cracking. Then her eyes widen as the shock wave blast it's way into the area. Watching buildings being ripped apart, trees being pulled from their roots and pushed towards the pair shinigami. Was that from Rafael? She stepped back keeping away from the shock waves she waited. She would watch what the dark haired loud mouth shinigami did. If she dodged, then Zadora would rush her. Closing the distance between her and the female shinigami as fast as she could so that she would be able to thrust her right paw into the female shinigami's stomach. If the shinigami didn't dodge the shock wave then Zadora would wait until she saw movement afterwards from the wreckage. Once she saw movement the tiger would charge intending to pounce on whichever shinigami showed themselves first so that she could wrap her pawed hands around their neck, digging her claws into the back of their neck. Pressing her middle claw between two of the spinal joints in their neck.

""We gave you the chance to go away. You should've listened instead of treating us like mere animals. Now you get to see the animal in us."

[Lolth Orbweaver]

It would hatch soon, Lolth thought as she continued to urge Zadora on. Lolth could hear the flapping of cloth above them, and then Zadora's warning. She noted that Zadora had run off, presumable to do something about him. Then something else came. Not a person, but pure force. She felt it in the hair before she heard it. She had to cover her ears from all the crashing and whistling of the wind. Unfortunately she couldn't keep track of much with all the noise, and her sense of smell would only let her know that they were around, nothing really specific. She had to make sure the first batch hatched. Then she started to hear them. That thuds of nearly a hundred legs pounding against the ground. 

She directed the spiderlings to push back the way that she had originally came, and through the opening that Rafael had created. A dozen spiders, the size of small dogs spilled into the open streets. They would try to surround the two shinigami half of them firing sticky strings of web to pin keep them in place, while the other half pounced forcing them to the ground, pummeling the two with their legs. The spiders would hiss angrily following their mother's orders and sacrificing their lives if they had to. Lolth could only hope that at least some of them would be able to survive the first engagement. At least until the second egg sack was able to hatch. 

Lolth still had to move. She couldn't run and hide forever, and even with her spiderlings, she wasn't sure how long Zadora and Rafael would be able to last. She had to think hard about what she wanted, or rather, had to do. If she really wanted to run, how far would she get before she too was caught? They were several levels into the human's den which would mean that she would need to spend some time sneaking out, if not booking it. Even if she did escape, what would happen to her pack mates. Would they forgive her for abandoning them to save herself? Lolth had always made it a point to live to fight another day before, but that was when she was alone.

No, she couldn't do that now. She had more to protect now. Even if Rafael thought that he protected her, someone had to be the cautious one of the pack. Someone had to save him from his own pride and anger. Lolth clenched all eight of her six of her fists and ran out back into the streets. She was sure that the egg sack would be safe. She had to. She was able to keep track of the two shinigami that were still on the ground. Zadora was going after the female from the smell of it, so she would go after the male. She would support her spiderlings by leaping into the air to drop three elbows onto the shinigami, if he was on the ground, and tackle him if he was not. In either case, she would scramble to a mounted position and throw a flurry of punches with all six of her arms as fast, and hard as she could. She nor her spiderlings would stop unless she was forced to, or unless he was knocked out.

[Rafael]

The shock-wave that had been sent crashing through several shacks of this village tearing them apart and carrying the broken pieces along with it towards the Shinigami didn't seem to be stopped concealing everything from them whether they survived or not with a massive cloud of dust from the attack as well. Bashing the shinigami that was after Zadora and Lolth was enough yet Rafael could tell from the impact that he hadn't hit hard enough to kill the man.

It was time to get out of here now before more of them arrived to turn the tables. Landing on the ground below Rafael would turn seeing Zadora moving towards the shinigami that he had attacked first. He was happy to see that Zadora had embraced the willingness to fight for their own survival yet now wasn't the right time. They were to close to their stronghold, to far away from their home. He had been angry and ready to tear the shinigami apart yet now he knew which path led to survival.

Getting into his stance Rafael knew he would need to catch up to Zadora. Executing the acceleration technique Rafael would appear a few feet beside Zadora. "Lets go before they get a chance to attack again." Rafael would pull on Zadora's arm slightly more to grab her attention than anything. He knew all to well how difficult it could become to focus while in battle. Once Zadora would turn Rafael would accelerate again in order to get right beside Lolth. "You heard me I'm sure so lets head out." Rafael would waste no time leaving the Rukongai behind although now a deeper burning anger towards Shinigami had been lit inside of his heart.

[Lolth Orbweaver]

Lolth, and her spiderlings, would rain down strikes at full speed. The webbing from the other spiderlings held strong, keeping the victims pinned down, and easier to handle. She gave her children very specific instructions. They were to fight until the opponents were knocked out, and not to kill them. The last thing she wanted was to justify the robed swordsmen's wild accusations. All six arms pumped like pistons on an engine. Each one pulling back and forward in an efficient pace balancing constant output of punches, and wined up, and recovery time, for others. She monitored the heart rate of both fallen foes making sure they were still alive at the end of this. 

The impact of the shock wave going passed her was the only thing that interrupted her meditative like state, and flow of her punches. The second egg sack had hatched some time ago, and the fresh spiderlings were well on their way to join the battle. The current group growing stronger still. She sensed no movement from the two enemies, and knew that enough was enough. It seemed that Rafael had finally come to that conclusion himself as well. She heard him tell Zadora that they were leaving, finally. Lolth was already turning to retreat giving silent orders to her fresh spiderlings to scout the area ahead of them, to be sure that they were not cut off, and the first batch to retreat with her. 

They immediately complied. One even taking their mother onto its back, without orders to do so. The spider-scouts signaled no opposition, she had them continue ahead of them, until they catch up. The stronger unit would form a protective ring around their mother, and her friends. Lolth finally took the time to address Rafael. He may lead the pack, but his anger, and stubbornness nearly got them all killed if not worse, captured. She was angered at that more than anything, but the trip was not all for nothing. She did find something of interest in the world of human souls. That stringed instrument was fascinating, and she would like to play one one day.  

"That whole fight could have been avoided you know, if you would have just listened to me." her voice was harsh and angry. There was still a hint of relief in her voice, for the fact that they all did make it back alive. "You owe me something after this." She continued in a slightly more pleasant tone. "That stringed instrument was nice. Lets make sure we acquire one the next time we have to enter that place." Her milky eyes would stare at him for a bit before looking back ahead of them. They were starting to catch up to the scouts, as they were making their way through the thickening forest that marks the border between the wilds and the Rukongai. Hopefully next time wouldn't be so hectic
