Location: The Unoji Brothel, a gentleman's club in the Northern District of area 30 in the Rukongai. A prestigious establishment, it is well respected as a place where individuals of all walks of life can come for entertainment, as well as it's wide selection of very unique women. The establishment itself is rather massive despite it's outward appearance as the seemingly 3-story establishment with a grounds around 400 square meters in size, actually extends deep underground as well, linking it to a separate warehouse a good mile away from the brothel itself. The underground tunnel connecting these two locations serving as the only link between them. The tunnel itself is about seven meters wide and three meters in height. Gob-smack in the center of this tunnel is an elevator, leading down toward what serves as a very large series of kennels.
Special Conditions: None
Circumstances: Unbeknownst to most, Mr.Unoji, in addition to gaining a fairly large amount of Revenue as the owner of one of the most successful brothels in a fairly large area, has a much more sinister business that he deals in: Trafficking of women, specifically those of rare or unusual species. As something of a connoisseur of finding these women, he typically attempts to employ them to his own establishment. However when they prove unwilling, or belong to a rival establishment, they instead are sold as property instead.
When several of her girls go missing, Rival Brothel owner and Shinigami Nola Vilde, with cooperation with the omnitsukido, have organized a raid of the Unoji premesis.
The Goals of this operation are as Follows:
A - Establish contact with Nola's mole in Unoji's staff.
B - Neutralize the Unoji staff that fail to cooperate.
C - Mount an Assault on the Underground portion of the facility.
D - Liberate the women held in the Underground Kennels, priority given to 7 Shinigami that had recently been reported missing over the past few months.
E - Apprehend Yasu Unoji and take him into custody.

[Chiku Unoji]

She knew when Master Unoji was stressed. She didn't need to even hear him to know it. She didn't need to sense that sudden increase in his pulse rate, the sudden tension in his muscles. Even before all that set in, she could just sense when the young master suddenly had something dreadful on his mind. It had been several days since the last incident and she wasn't quite sure what it was that was going on. She WANTED to understand. Truly, if she could be sure of anything, it was the fact that above all else, she wished she could help.

Watching him pace back and forth, rubbing at his neck, her back turned to him as her ears did all the work for her, she couldn't help but get anxious as well. How long had it been since he'd taken her in? And already she felt like his mother. It had been ages, true, but still she felt as if she owed him something, had more she could do for him. She shifted slightly in her seat and grumbled, her tail lightly curling as suddenly he seemed to notice her, as if before she had been but a ghost in the sidelines of his life.

The slow smile that spread over his features was one she was not used to sensing, so she was a bit....worried when she saw it. Fingers gently tented and suddenly that anxiety was....muffled. He was calm, but the sort of calm that worried her. Walking towards her, she turned just in time to feel his hand touch at one big armored shoulder, a slow sigh escaping from him as he nodded his head, tapping lightly on that carapace before speaking.

"Ahhh, Chikusho. I've always been able to trust you.....haven't I? Haha. Well I guess by now I aught to." He jested, slowly rising to his feet as he turned his attention to the side. "But...... trust does not quite cut it..... Chiku.... I believe I'd like to show you something. If you would be so kind as to follow me." He murmured. Of course she nodded, almost offended that he would suggest she were capable of anything other than obedience.

As she followed him she was determined, wondering if perhaps there had been some trouble. However she was surprised to find that he was bringing her down to the basement. Naturally as a digger she was aware that the brothel had many levels below just the surface, but then she'd never exactly been asked to go down there. Well, not until now. She'd never asked why, not that she didn't think it her business, but well....she'd simply never thought about going down there.

When she paused at the entrance, it actually took several moments for him to realize that she had suddenly stopped following him, a slight look of annoyance crossing his features before finally he realized what was going on, a soft little smile crossing his lips as he shook his head, chuckling mirthfully to himself as he suddenly slumped, leaning against the wall as he looked at her, the picture ov obedience and conditioning, uncertain and yet so very very focused. He wasn't sure he'd ever seen her like this before.

"Chiku Cikhu Chiku. You are absolutely adorable." He sighed, slowly standing upright, taking a brief moment to brush himself off before striding purposefully towards her, lightly patting her on the shoulder before giving her chin a firm grip, dragging her toward the opening as he shook his head, only pulling her a short distance before letting her go. "But you need to stop. Follow me, That is an order." He noted in perhaps the most serious voice she'd ever heard coming from him.

Immediately she picked up the pace and began following him, down down down those winding stairways as they went down deeper and deeper into the estate, into places she'd never been in before. And of course....at present.... it was not inhabited. Most of the girls had been movedupstairs, and the ones that were down here were not around it seemed. Though something about the place definitey did not....bode well for Chikusho. Her sense of smell, and her hearing let her see the rooms that they passed by.

They were....not happy places. Broken sections here and there, and the smell....of blood and so many other fluids assailed her nose. She was instantly uncomfortable, even sick, but her dedication to the young master kept her going, down down down as they went. Deeper and deeper until finally, they came to a much larger, thicker door than the others. For a moment she wondered what was behind it, until with a touch and a soft chant of a phrase, Unoji opened the door, smiling to himself as he gestured for her to go first.

There was no longer a question as to where they were going. Chiku could 'see' all the way dowqn the tunnel, and could sense for quite a while, see that there were no turns for a long time. She saw something of an exit off in the distance in her mind, but she also heard something....unsettling further down. The smile on her master's face made a chill rush up her spine, but even so....she began walking down. With him soon behind her, and with that same unsettling smile on his face.

And eventually....they found it.

She stopped, her claws suddenly curling into fists as she sensed the door. But more importantly, heard what was past it. She stared, her heart suddenly pounding away through her chest, swallowing hard as she took a moment to actually consider what it was she could hear....what she could smell. And of course Master Unoji, who slowly shook his head, and stepped forward, opening the door, and plunging Chiku into hell.

It was grotesque. Women of all shapes, all sizes. Were in there. In....cages. shackled to the floor, or racks. Not all of them were still alive. And the stench of thei rliving conditions immediately revulsed her, as she slowly turned, staring in horror at her master, unable to fully understand what it was that she was seeing in her brain, What she was trying to....understand.... She had so many questions, and suddenly, in all her life, with all she knew, for ocne she had a reason to speak with articulation, suddenly she felt a will to actually express herself.

"Why?"

There was a pause, his head tilting for a moment as the young master narrowedhis eyes, looking at her incredulously, waiting,.....before at long last....with such a look of boredom on his face, he actually sighed, his shoulders slumping for a moment as he slowly ran his fingers across his eyelids. For just a moment she could almost taste the dissapointment rollinf off of him, and in that moment, she wasn't entirely sure what to think about how he was looking at her.

"That's.....it? That's all you have to ask? I must say Chikusho what a boring question." He sighed as he slowly turned, making his way toward the kennels, stopping in his tracks as those eyes stared down at them, already ignoring the whimpers he could hear from them, his hands limp at his sides as he slowly fell silent, his mind working in circles as he thought it over. As he thought back to why he had done all these things he'd had to do.

"Do you know...I was adopted? The Unoji family was hardly noble in any respect. It was... nothing. Haha...trash. Garbage. You wouldn't even give us a second look I was just....nothing. I was a boy with nowhere to go....nowhere to be...NoTHING to be. Just watching as the nobles ravaged us. Took everything they fancied...and ignored how the rest of us were dying. How the rest of us were just....rotting." He hissed, hatred seething from his words as e slowly turned around.

"I mean....what difference did it make? They were just noble women. It was almost too easy to kidnap them. And...at first that's all." He noted with a smile, a shake of his head, chuckling as he was explaining himself to such a simple creature, who probably didn't understand most of what he was saying. "It took a lot of work though... to make a cover. All of....this...." He noted, gesturing around himself as he rubbed lightly upon his neck, thinking it all over.

"But once the brothel was built, and all this...foundation? It was simple. You wold not IMAGINE how many girls we got. How many prissy little angels that we found. Girls looking to escape the life of a Noble, or wanted to get back at daddy for cutting them off. A debutante is such a manipulatable little thing. And once they dissapeared they were easy to mold. The nice ones just became whores. Hell, would you believe Mrs.Ekaji was once a little girl? A Little thing wanting to get away from a shit family?" He cackled, rubbing his neck.

"But well.....that was not the case all the time..." He murmured, looking to one cage in particular. With a corpse inside. Whomever they had once been was dead now. All that was left was a sad sack of flesh, with no arms or legs.... "The uncooperative ones lost the priveledge of being courtesans. And they took on more....fitting roles. You know I even considered putting you down here once... but you Chiku....you were so much more than I could havehoped." He suddenly smiled, now looking directly at her.

She felt sick, but she held firm, trying to understand. Were these women...bad? Surely....surely they had to be. She didn't really understand what nobles were, but....if he....if he was doing THIS to them. Then they had to be horrible creatures. But why.....why did they whine like that? Why did she care? Ages ago she would have started eating some of them. But.....with so long having spent time with the employees... with Ariu....with Ajora....With Nida... She.....she felt....bad....

A roll of his eyes before Unoji simply patted her on the shoulder, slipping past her as he sighed. "that's what I like about you Chiku. You need just simple orders. So I'm going to make this simple enough for you. The shinigami are closing in. Theyre going to try and take this place. But....inevitably thats not going to go so well. Which is why I'm leaving. And I'm leaving you. You're strong Chikusho. You've always been strong. But you're just not.....strong enough. I can't have a brute around if she can't think beyond her muscles. But that's the thing. I'm giving you a chance to make it up to me. I want you to kill as many shinigami that come down here as you can. Do that.....and I will truly be able to say I've been proud of you." He smiled, walking out the door, leaving her without so much as a pat on the head as he began to make his escape.

And she stared....unknowing what to do. When suddenly some whining caught her attention....and she dared not turn, as something her mind had simply been blocking off reached her. There were beastmen here too... She froze, swallowing hard as she heard them. Saw them in her mind as the sound gave shape to that harrowing fact. And that's when she knew just how close she'd been to being down here herself. Or simply killed. She trembled....shaking...

She....she just had to live. That's right. She'd just make it through this. She had to survive. If she could do that she'd have time....time to....to think about all of this. She swallowed, staring ahead, unsure of just what else to do...until she heard that distant boom. That shudder as somewhere up above the ground....it was starting. She knew it was all changing...her worlds just wasn't so simple anymore. And as she finally heard the beginnings of footsteps outside of this...hellish room. She swallowed.

The first shinigami to make it's way into the room died. A Stinger stabbing them through the neck before they were wrenched aside. A look of cold uncertainty on Chiku's face as she trembled, watching the being suddenly go limp in her arms, swallowing hard. she didn't even take notice of the others until she felt something sharp clak off against her carapace. She suddenly turned, her mind reeling as she spotted who it was. HEr ears picking up on two others in the tunnels, and three shinigami inside with her. Immediately she trembled.

She just.....just needed to survive. With a sudden roar she lashed out, grabbing another of them by the throat, herpincers slicing through flesh as they suddenly gurgled the life from their mouths, dropping to the floor. She was about to start on the other two when suddenly something was behind her, the sound of a sonido reaching her ears as Chiku suddenly spun about, her tail lashing before some needle-like sword sank in between the plates of her armored carapace, a sudden shout escaping her as she suddenly hissed, flexing her body and suddenly shoving outward, bulling her attacker away from her as she twisted about.

The feeling of blood spilling down her side conflicted with her mind and her heart. Suddenly t his felt so  very wrong. So very...dirty. Even as she felt tears welling up in her eyes, she grabbed a zanpaku'to from one of the fallen shinigami, putting it infront of her and letting out a harsh hiss as she suddenly prepared herself, watching as the injured backed off, but two females stood before her. She swallowed hard and narrowed her eyes, blind as they were.

She wasn't going to die here. not.....not around these horrible tortured women. Even as she sobbed she couldn't help but feel suddenly so very alone, staring down the two that seemed intent on taking her down. She shook, swallowing hard as she backed up, another shunpo put the blonde one in closer range, and just as she twisted a blade arched upward, immediately meeting it with her own stolen weapon and grunting as she put the full force of her arms into it, no doubt surprising the woman as she bulled them, the impact shoving them forcibly away from her.

However another sting suddenly reached her as she was flanked, her tail immediately moving to block, the shinigami adjusting atthe last minute so that her needle-like sword sliced the flesh between the plates on her tail, Chiku suddenly groaning out as she suddenly rolled off to the side, escaping from the two women as she huffed, narrowing her eyes. These were no jobbers. Whomever these two women were, they were clearly going to give her grie-

"Stand down. We're not here to hurt you, we're here for the women. If you do not cooperate then we will have to hurt you." Came an authorative voice, suddenly eliciting a roar of fury from Chiku as somehow she just was so....angry. She was angry at Master Unoji for putting her in this! For the first time in ehr life she felt hatred for him, her eyes burning as she cried. Why would he DO this?! These women, no matter how evil, if they were bad they should have been punished and released or simply killed. But ...THIS?! How could he?!

And all that anger had nowhere to go. He wasn't here for her to make demands. He had left. Left her here with these shinigami. So the only people she had to take out her rage on was them. Gripping that blade even tighter, she rounded, a loud roar escaping heras she spun about and aimed to grab the one with the needle, her clawed hands flexing as she reached, her clws only slicing into cloth as she felt her emotions clouding her ability to fight, her grief sinking deeper and deeper into her as she huffed. As she fought a fight she didn't believe in, and more and more....she secretly wanted one of them to just end her....surely death was better than this...

It had only been a few weeks, and honestly she really hadn't expected things to be going so slowly. But....at the very least she was getting results. Should she have expected anything else? The shinigami had ways of getting things done. It had only been a few weeks since several of her employees....women she cared very much about, had gone missing. And...as if out of nowhere, they had showed up. The shinigami. She was well aware that they had been asking her to join the Gotei for some time now. Several of them had made note of her incredible spiritual power and potential. But this time....they had a much more appealing lure.

'Join the Thirteen Court Guard Squads. And we will investigate the loss of your employees. You will even be allowed to participate in the rescue mission.'

It had been too good to be true. Surely they didn't want her that badly? Of course....she realized that they were striking several birds with one stone. They wanted her. They wanted these missing women found, as hers were surely not the only women missing. Even some shinigami supposedly gone missing. And the positive PR with the Rukongai citizens no doubt held their favor. And of course....it would look as if they were doing her a favor. She knew they were playing her.....but she didn't care.... She just wanted them back.

The process had been strangely short. She seemed to learn quickly, and her spiritual power was something that was definitely something that had developed quickly. Her zanpaku'to had already begun shaping itself, molding to her soul. She didn't care about that though. She was more interested in the mission. Focusing on her studies, wanting to be as good as she could before the mission started. The shinigami seemed....pleased. She almost hated them for it, those pleased smiles and comforting words as she stared at them with that cold gaze. Assuring her that they would be fine.

 
When it finally came time for the mission, she was given an...interesting briefing. Sitting in a small tent with a bunch of black-clad individuals. One in particular wa standing closer than the others. She could only barely make out a hint of blonde hair and piercing green eyes as the one in charge informed her of the situation. The operation was going to transpire as night fell. Since she was simply a shinigami academy student, this would be taken and considered extracurricular credit toward her graduation.

Cute...

As for the mission itself, BECAUSE she was only a student, she would have an Escort from the Punishment force, the blonde standing beside her, in order to ensure that she would be relatively safe, and to observe her during the duration of the mission. Supposedly they would meet up with one of the employees, a.....strange woman who was serving as intel within the building they would be assaulting. After meeting up with them, they would proceed to neutralize any of the staff that did not comply. They would move on to the lower sections of the facility and secure the prisoners.

With her escort saying.....nothing, Nola wasn't sure how to respond, simply nodding in understanding as the man before her gave a curt nod, then turning away as another woman entered. A grin across her face, she cleared her throat. The blonde beside her seemed to glare for just a moment before turning her attention back to nola, offering a smile. "You'll be perfectly fine." She wasn't sure if she believed them...but it wasn't like she had much choice she supposed.....


As they entered the place itself, they were surprised to find it.....bare. Most of the employees were gone it seemed... and those that were here were already on the ground. Something that....caused Nola a great deal of tension, as she stepped into that big place, looking at those littered on the ground, swallowing hard as she did so. Until a set of piercing eyes split their way from the dark.

"I've been waiting." They murmured as they stepped from the shadows. A Surprisingly tall woman, someone who Nola immediately felt a bit...apprehensive about....for some reason. But before she could say much else, she watched the blonde walk past her, greeting the stranger with a pat on the shoulder. The two of them holding a whispered conference. She supposed she should have expected as much... Once the little interaction was done, the blonde ushered her to follow.

With help from what Nola assumed to be the mole, they found their way to a strange vault-like door. Gaping open, completely unlocked, unguarded. Nola glanced in the direction of the blonde, the other woman having taken leave to secure the upper levels. But no comfort was given to her....and so with only her shaken nerves, Nola sighed. "Understood." She murmured as she started heading down, the blond simply giving her a look before slipping down after her.

Once they hit the bottom, they found themselves at the end of some....enormous tunnel. Already Nola could feel a certain sense of dread inside of her, and she couldn't help but swallow nervously as she watched the blonde start down, leading the way. She didn't want to follow.....she knew whatever was down there was nothing she was going to enjoy seeing.....but.... It's what had to happen. She knew that she had come far enough. She needed to stay strong.... and keep going.

Making their way down the tunnel, she noticed the other woman drawing their blade, some enormous sword strapped along their back. It was actually a little unsettling how silent they were, despite having such a large sword like that.... Furrowing her brows, she looked around, about to draw her own weapon when suddenly a sound caught her attention, and from the looks of the other woman....she'd heard it too. A shuddering from up above. Immediately they exchanged nervous looks, before they both broke into a sprint. They didn't know what was going on, but they knew they had to hurry.

Rushing into that door, they were met with several other shinigami, having come from the other end of the tunnel, they exchanged silent looks with one another berfore several of them rushed into the room. What happened next caught Nola's attention immediately, strangled noises immediately hitting her ears as the sound of blood splattering reached her. Immediately she and Shizu rushed in, finding that one of the employees....was still there. And they were....upset.

Tears clear in their eyes even as they tore into the shinigami, a sudden loud hissing roar escaping them as Nola suddenly found herself backing up a little, gritting her teeth before suddenly rushing pst the woman, the soft crackle of her shunpo sounding as she slipped past them, twisting and ducking as she watched that tail swing right at her, barely missing as her zanpaku'to sank into the gaps in the carapace, biting her lip as the force of impact rang through her limbs, immediately yanking her blade back as that scorpion suddenly yelled, shoving outward and knocking her away, grunting and rolling to her feet as she recovered.

She felt a slight pain in her shoulder, the scorpion having banged her up a little as she backed off, huffing out and shakily getting to her feet, spotting the blonde beside her. Before their eyes, the monster grabbed one of the zanpaku'to from one of the injured and brought it to bear against them. Nola swallowed softly, watching them nervously as the beast....sobbed. Something inside of her started tearing at her....and deep inside...she felt an odd familiarity with the woman...

But she didn't have time for that, not even noticing that Shizuyoko had rushed in, using a shunpo of their own to flank the woman. She watched the scorpion twist to engage, and she took the opportunity, rushing in and grunting as she raised her blade, gritting her teeth and raising her blade, ducking slightly as that tail swished, her needle-like blade sliding in and once again hitting paydirt. Immediately the scorpion rolled away, almost tearing her weapon from her grasp as she stumbled, watching them distance themselves.

Nola panted, already feeling a sudden rage. Looking at all of these women....she recognized some of them. But.....she couldn't be angry at the woman. They seemed....as torn up about this as she was. Swallowing hard, she narrowed her eyes and suddenly swelled out her chest before barking out. "Stand down. We're not here to hurt you, we're here for the women. If you do not cooperate then we will have to hurt you!"

There was a moment of hesitation, sudden anger hit her as it practically gushed out of the scorpion. She blinked in alarm, immediately leaping back as those claws barely curled into her uniform, ripping into cloth as she stumbled back, wincing and rolling away as the scorpion continued to sob. Gritting her teeth, she rolled to her feet, lunging back in and slashing with her blade, this time one of those massive pincers lifting up, deflecting her slashes and thrusts, grunting a bit before that arm simply swatted her away.

Nola gasped out as it impacted against her shoulder, eyes wide as she was suddenly flung across the room, slamming into one of the kennels as she dropped to the floor, panting and grunting as she felt pain lance along her sides, a huff escaping her as she slowly rose to her feet, shakily getting off her legs. Whomever they were, she had a feeling that there was no way they were going to best them in an all out brawl.... she needed to find a way to calm them down...otherwise they might have to kill her....

[Shizuyoko Toraumi]

It was all rushing by so... fast. When she had first accepted the mission of infiltrating the Unoji-owned Brothel, she had been a little apprehensive. She had worried that the day of the operation wouldn't come soon enough, that she would be waiting ages before they got clearance for the raid. Something inside her just felt like she might almost never get to be a part of it. But contrary to all of her worrying, all of her anxiety about it. Somehow... when it actually came down to it... it was almost too soon.

When the briefing was over, and she felt herself marching off, ready to meet the woman who would be assisting with the operation, she couldn't help but feel like this was all... a blur. It wasn't like the movies where the bulk of the movie itself was a bunch of preparation and dialog. The briefing wa... brief... and even as she found herself going down that tunnel, even as she found herself heading in, keeping a mental eye on what was going on on the surface, it felt like seconds were just slipping away. Before long, it would be around the time that the surface Operatives would be breaching the main building of the brothel. There were a number of employees that needed to be secured so a much larger task force had been dedicated to it. Unlike the rather small group that made up the one infiltrating through the secret tunnel.

Even as their footsteps echoed off the walls, even as she could sense the anxiety and worry that was radiating from the strange red-skinned shinigami that was apparently also an employee of another nearby brothel, she couldn't help but feel... nothing. No fear... no worry... no sense that this was even really real. That is... at least it didn't feel real until the sickening crunch of claws busting into the first shinigami's neck. The sound that came from that room that was absolutely filled with kennels, and filled with... pain... death.. and misery.

All of a sudden things weren't just going fast, but now she was actually aware of what was going on. As her focus was finally locking on, and as her mind was finally begining to understand how REAL her first operation was going to be. Two of them were dead, and hot on the heels of Nola, rushing into the room to see that enraged scorpion. Her mind turning on auto pilot as the scuffle began, that big monster roaring out and.... sobbing... as they started trying to rip them apart. And she had to admit that she was truly impressed by how Nola seemed to be handling herself. Even with Shizuyok beside her, the woman was making a good account of herself, and before she knew it, the young woman was even barking out for the enemy to surrender.


She would have to put in a good word for the woman in her report. But for the time being, she saw Chiku suddenly ramming toward Nola. In a brief, clashing exchange Nola was thrown away, slamming into the wall as the claws of that monsterous beastclansman tore into their clothing, almost ripping into flesh as they were flung away. Almost immediately, Shizuyoko was behind them, her blade at the ready as she suddenly felt that surge, tickling it's way through her head, whispering something dark into her ears as her hands found their way into her zanpaku'to. In that deepest recess of her mind she heard it.

It's time to act....

"Bite... Nanakiba Orochi.
Drink in Blue... Daihichibi"

The sudden surge of spiritual pressure emanating from Shizuyoko's body suddenly halted the fight between the other two, and all at once she felt a sudden sureness in her mind as that dripping voice in the back of her head told her what to do. Even as she held that multicolored glaive in one hand, Daihachibi was behind her, staying out of sight as her tails slithered out of the slits ion her hakama. Before the eyes of both htose observing, those tails would slip into those special handles that marked each segment of the glaive, and all at once those things separated, her tails all taking hold of a blade each, leaving one of them in her hand, while her other held that darker blade.

She struck, lunging forward and raising in her right han d that crimson blade, her tails sneaking back into her Hakama, hiding out of sight as she lifted the weapon high above her head. She was overzealous, and without even thinking she slashed downward, her mind on auto pilot as she clove downward and slashed with one of those segmented blades. The crimson weapon lashed out like a snake, far faster than the Scorpion cold hope to react to as those blades cleaved vleanly down the massive beastclansman's chest, ripping a clean cut down their left side, blood suddenly welling into a bright crimson blossom in the air, the petals of crimson fluid scattering as Chiku suddenly found herself staring at the incredibly determined eyes of the Shinigami.

The wound was clean, but shallow, having simply sliced down the beast's side to cut into the armored plating. Of course she had no idea if this would immobilize the beast or not. She was massive, not only that, but also she wasn't even entirely sure what sort of musculature they had, or how deep the muscles really went. For all she knew, the muscles for that part of the body were still intact and she had simply slashed into the armor itself, and maybe she would have some sort of counterattack coming in soon. She did NOT want to have that stinger going for her face, so immediately she felt the urge to follow up the slash with something a bit extra.

So without a second thought, she twisted. Her body arched, spinning about as her leg lifted into a spinning upward sweep, swinging the back of her foot out in an attempt to connect solidly with the Insect's face. Without even giving much of a warning, that leg was going to slam right into Chiku's skull, and while she certainly lacked any sort of strength to overpower such a massive, bulky woman, at the very least it would hopefully be enough to at least stun the beast long enough for her to snag it's attention. Even as her ankle rang, twitching and feeling sore from the impact with chitin-bound face, she dropped, landing as gracefully as she could as she leveled that weapon toward Chiku. Ready for the next round.

[Chiku Unoji]

The sudden upsurge of spiritual pressure had instantly surprised her. That sudden deep reiatsu that seemed to well up out of nowhere in order to crush itself down on her in a wave of unadulterated fury. She had been so caught up in her own emotions that she had not even considered the possibility of how these shinigami were feeling during this battle with her. She could hear the older shinigami's rise in breathing, and before she could properly react she suddenly felt a set of segmented blades slashing down her front, opening up her armored hide and biting into some of the muscle in her chest.

Feeling the sudden spurt of blood as the blood vessels in her shell were cut into, she staggered back, trying to focus, her ears training on the location of the shinigami, even though they suddenly were spinning about. The next instant the shinigami's foot slammed into her face, staggering her once again as she realized that this was real. Somehow, her earlier wish had been....halfhearted. True she wanted it. This....this place... Horrible as it was. It was just too much. She didn't want to be here. She didn't want to be fighting. She hoped that one of them would get lucky.

But this? This wasn't luck. This shinigami was STRONG. Maybe even stronger than HER. She had never met a shinigami that was stronger than her. And it.....was strange. How angry it made her feel. The idea that she would die here by someone STRONGER than her. Dying here.... in a place like this. The smell was still in her skull, trying to make her vomit. The sounds....the horrible sounds. Without even thinking, she rushed forward in a sudden burst of speed that seemed to surprise both of her opponents. Grabbing them both in her massive arms, she plowed ahead, dragging them along as a sudden loud roar escaped from her throat, her shoulder turning so that she plowed clean through the wall separating them from the main tunnel, taking them away from that horrible place as those arms slammed both women int the far wall with a firm shove, pushing herself away from them as her own spiritual pressure roared within her.

The sudden burst of energy was making her plates creak. Every smooth patch of chitinous armor was suddenly flexing as spiritual energy began to gush from her body as she realized just how much she didn't want to die, how much being actually injured had inspired a.... new action. She wasn't a human. She wasn't a soul reaper. She wasn't any kind of creature that would ever off themselves. She was an animal. An animal built to survive. And no matter HOW dire the situation, she could NEVER truly allow herself to die. She could never allow herself just to fade away without even a proper fight!

HEr spiritual pressure began oozing through the pores in her shell as she suddenly began to grow/ Several inches on her already monstrous height made her all the more imposing. That deep-brown shell slowly turning black, her hair following after as it seemed her entire body was slowly turning black, and that enormous stinger attached to her spine began to grow longer. That sudden burst of reiatsu suddenly stopping as the transformation was complete, and a sudden loud HSSSSS escaped her body as suddenly jets of mist began spraying from her form and out into the air.

Almost immediately Nola and Shizuyoko would be able to see that mist begin eating into the stone around her, and this new battle area (almost seeming to have been chosen because Chikusho could not bring herself to use this around those kennels), was incredibly cramped, with little place to move around. No way to circle around. With that corrosive cloud of hot mist swirling around her, Chikusho felt that sudden euphoric RUSH that came with the release. A sudden sensation of tirelessness as all of the lactic acid from her muscles were simply ejected out of her body.

Without much of a warning, she suddenly began charging toward the pair, that roar ripping it's way abck out of her throat as she began rushing toward the two, heaving with that sudden need to survive as she felt determined to destroy or at least cripple the shinigami that threatened her survival, that bright fog of acid eating away at the tunnel around her as she rushed forward, her stiger arched incase one of them would think to try and rush past her in some way during her charge. But of course she did NOT expect that in the middle of her stride, something horrifying would....HIT her.

She didn't see it. After all it hadn't made any sound. The burst of reiatsu from one of the shinigami while she'd been removing them from the kennel area had been subtle. She had not even noticed it until just that moment. And something she couldn't quite...hear... made itself very present. Something dark and.... evil. She felt it around her mouth, and within just a moment she suddenly felt like somethin disgusting was trying to spill into it. She recoiled, covering her mouth just as she suddenly charged at the source, the shinigami that had been jabbing her during the fight. Raising her claw, she was about to slam that massive weapon of an arm down, intent to end whatever darkness was spilling from the shinigami when...

she tripped over one of the rocks that littered the side of the little creek, and the little bug stumbled, letting out a sharp little hiss as she toppled to the ground and suddenly she felt her selt hitting the rocky ground underneath her, the slight sting of friction against her soft shell, a shell that would get much harder as she grew older. slowly she sniffled, wiping her eyes as she looked up to 'see' Shizuyoko hiding behind a tree, gasping and covering her mouth with worry as she realized she might have actually injured her friend. The girl sincerely worried now as they rushed out from behind that tree and attempted to look over her friend.

"Chiku I'm so sorry, are you alright?!" came that panicked little voice, the girl clearly incredibly worried now as she began brushing some of the pebbles that had stuck to the scorpion off. With a soft little wince, Chiku felt a bit of heat rise to her eyes and she began to sniffle, on the verge of crying now as she realized she might be a little injured, and ready to call for her parents. At the very least until that soft hand rested on her shoulder and Chiku's attention suddenly shifted behind her.

And she saw Nola's soft, smiling face behind her, and all of that fear and pain washed away as she found herself lifted clean up and into the air, suddenly brought into a warm, comforting embrace as the adult comforted both little girls with that smile of hers. She didn't know why but Chiku could feel a sudden surge of memory. Somehow it just felt like she knew this woman, she felt like she was important, like they were someone who had been helping her for a very long time. And looking down she realized that those little nicks from the rocks didn't hurt as much, and she smiled wide.

"Thank you Aunt Nola!"

The Words echoed from Chiku's mouth as she suddenly stopped. A few feet from the pair of shinigami, it was like her brain had suddenly been kicked in the teeth, and in an instant her release suddenly faded. Her height reducing back to normal as her hair and shell went back to that muddy brown color. chikusho was shaking a little as she tried to figure out what had happened, what had just gone through her head. But most importantly she was trying to figure out how she could have ever forgotten her Aunt Nola? Her arms feeling heavy as tears began welling up in the simple woman's eyes. And before either shinigami could do anything about it, Nola was suddenly swept up into Chiku's massive arms, but this time in a very tender hug as the woman began sobbing loudly, tears coursing down her cheeks as she wailed loudly.

All at once all of Chiku's fear, all of her apprehension, all of the stress that Master Unoji had dumpred onto her, her terror at seeing what had been in the Kennels, it all came rushing back to her, and the only way she knew how to deal with it was to cling to her Aunt Nola, gently hugging them as carefully as she could as she began sobbing into her shoulder, begging softly for forgiveness as the cold reality that her entire life had just been flipped hit her like a truck. And she was begging Aunt Nola to make it all better.

Nola had not expected Shizuyoko to suddenly release! Almost immediately she felt an overwhelming pressure slamming down on her, her mind immediately recoiling as that whisper in her mind continued to make her dizzy. Something about this was so.... wrong. Why would Chiku..... Chiku? She paused, not entirely sure when she'd learned the woman's name. What was WRONG with her?! She couldn't understand why they were doing this , why they were DOWN here. Someone must have put them up to it, that was the only explanation that she could imagine. Swallowing hard, she bit her bottom lip and watched as the woman suffered at the hands of the Shinigami that was fighting along her side.

She was about to shout again, about to try and offer some sort of comfort, to let Chiku know that she had to give in, give in or else they would have to destroy her. But before she could do that, she suddenly felt one big armored hand grab onto her chest, there was a rush of air b efore she was prmptly slammed into a wall, her body cringing slightly as she and Shizu were both rushed out and into the tunnels, away from all of the wails and whimpers that were in the other room.

As she collected herself, Nola suddenly picked up another spike in spiritual pressure, this time one that cought her completely off guard. It was coming FROM the woman. Instantly she backed up, stepping back rapidly as she suddenly felt something in the pit of her stomach, worrying her immensely as she saw the scorpion changing from brown to black. She felt something deathly familiar about this, she just couldn't remember where she had seen this before...

As she was about to remember, she suddenly saw Chikusho charging in her direction, her heart jumping in her chest as she yelled out for the Beastclan to stop. But with the massive insect roaring, Nola's words were absolutely drowned out as the bug charged, acid oozing from her pores and eating into her surroundings like some sort of visible plague. She knew she couldn't allow Chiku to keep going like this. If she got closer to either her or Shizuyoko she wouldn't be able to stop the other shinigami from ....whatever vengeance she might muster up.

Nola paused, frozen in place as she looked over her shoulder, that charging beastclan seeming to freeze in place as she found herself staring at that shadowy figure, the one that looked so very very much like her. And even looking at the figure seemed to incite a slow, cold ice to creep it's way through her veins as everything in her mind tried to reject... whatever they were. The slow, creeping laugh that filled the air only served to further repulse Nola, and were she not frozen in place she might have actually started running toward that cloud of acid to get away from them.

Oh Nola... you really need to forget all of this.... fear. Honestly if you can't get them to stop., You just have to make them...remember... Those words suddenly quelled the fear in her mind, and Nola actually began to wonder... to think. Suddenly those words seemed to make a lot of sense, but more importantly her mind began searching rather frantically. Suddenly she couldn't help but feel like there WAS something she could do to help Chiku. But what COULD she do?

You just need to let them remember Nola. The voice said, and the figure stepped closer, reaching out and offering their hand to the shinigami, and for just a moment, Nola almost reached out for it. But something felt.... wrong about it. she couldn't place what it was, but some essence that floated around the shadowy figure's hand seemed to tell her that if she reached for that hand, something bad would happen. something she might not be able to undo. They laughed.

Before she could react that hand simply GRABBEd her own, and reiatsu began rushing out of her body, her eyes wide as even as the scene started to play again, even as Chiku resumed her charge, she could hear that voice oozing into her ming, reaching up her throat, and manipulating her mouth, forcing dark words from her lips, dark thoughts into her mouth, and dark things through her vision, all at once she was in no position to control herself. The next thing she knew she was lifting her blade, holding it out as a sudden surge of reiatsu erupted from every pore in her body like a tidal wave.

"I just have to do everything myself don't I?" The shadow said through her lips, and then she whispered something, something she didn't quite hear, and with no control of her mouth she cuoldn't quite tell what it was she was saying. The shadowy figure was doing all that for her, and before she knew it, they were REAL. Shizuyoko and Chiku both visibly blanched as Nillia manifested before all three of them. Even if Chiku couldn't see them, they seemed to sense them. That gaudy, lanky form that seemed to belch horrible feelings out and into the air in such stark contrast to Nola herself.

Immediately Nillia RUSHED for Chiku, even with the beast's speed the spectral being was there in a heartbeat, and with that mouth opening wide, Nillia breathed the air around Chiku, and suddenly a long, red thread spilled out, connecting her mouth to theirs. And the next thing she knew, a memory roared it's way through her mind, and that very same memory was being forcefed into the Beastclansmen, Chiku stopped dead in her tracks, halting her retreat as suddenly, both her and Nola both remembered, remembered how they used to know eachother, remembered how she had been there when Chiku needed her.

The sound of Chiku dropping to her knees broke the spell over Nola, and she watched as that big bug suddenly started sobbing, crying loudly as they uttered the words: Aunt Nola. Immediately Nola ran to them, that acid gas drifting away, there was nothing to stop her as she threw her arms around the scorpion and cried with them, patting those massive shoulders and trying her best to consol the big brute as they lost the will to fight, the will to continue the dirty deed that Unoji had forced upon her as he had destroyed so many things that she had cared about.

When the two had finally calmed down, Nola looked up to see Shizuyoko looking in the direction of the kennels, and several other shinigami seemed to be coming down the tunnel, each of them drawing their blades as if recognizing Chiku as a threat. But with a wave from the blonde, both of them lowered their weapons. They started talking about something with one another, but at that point Nola wasn't really paying attention. Getting to her feet, she sniffled, wiping her eyes, and then wiping Chiku's eyes as a soft, worried smile crossed her face. "We're going to get you out of here Chiku. I promise. When this is all over, I'll help you okay? I'll help you... and I'll help them." She stated firmly, turning to look in the direction they had come from, where all those suffering women were.

She'd help all of them...

[Shizuyoko Toraumi]

The sudden shove into the tunnel had winded Shizu. Almost instantly she grunted, unable to contend with the monsterous strength with which the scorpion hefted herself around. Immediately she attempted to muster Daihachibi's shards into action, to carve up the scorpion before her, but she couldn't in time. With all the air shoved out of her and only slowly rising to her feet, trying to force herself to become fully aware of her surroundings, it wasn't until the Scorpion was charging straight for them that she could bring her zanpaku'to to bear.

She saw the way that mist was eating away at the ground, and suddenly she felt a fear coursing through her body. And yet..... when that massive beast suddenly began to halt, she felt it. She felt her chance. The warrior within her rising up in a surging monstrous froth of adrenaline and sudden opportunity. Here she could drop the woman now, get rid of them and secure both the fate of the captives and the fate of herself and the other shinigami. But then that sudden wave rushed through her. She suddenly remembered that same sensation. So close to Nolas budding shikai, she was suddenly rocked by a very very... familiar memory.

She had been so very different back then. A monster, truly. A massive beast back then. When she'd felt that same sensation. The sudden feeling when a helpless prey was before her. Devouring the daughters of those shinigami so very very long ago. When the world had been.... fresh. The taste of blood and meat, and that sudden rush when her senses slowly returned. Her sense of sight, her sense of smell, her sense of taste. It was as if she were forging her own reality. Slowly breaking her own bonds and forming something greater. And yet....

Thinking back.... she didn't just remember that sensation of victory. That lovely euphoria that so intoxicatingly gripped her. She also remembered the fear. At first. Because initially all she had seen was fear in those young women. The fear of unknown. The fear that they didn't understand what was happening. Why it was happening. For what purpose this incessant slaughter was occurring. But more than that there was something else, something so much much different when that seventh daughter had been within her grasp, slowly being encircled for the final squeeze and crunch that would end her life.

The Seventh daughter hadn't just been about to die. Hadn't just been about to meet her make in the bowels of the great Orochi. But she had lost almost every single sister she had. And she obviously know about Yamata. She had known this would happen, had known this end would be, had known that despite all efforts, and how much grief and sorrow her parents would face, that now she was going to die. And out of all the sisters, the Seventh harrowed Yamata the most. Because of all things she had smiled. As if to tell the monster that she was not afraid of them. That she was alright with her death. That she was not afraid of the dark like Yamata was.


As Shizuyoko, so very many centuries later, stared down at the staggered Scorpion, she found herself slowly lowering her weapon. Staring ahead as Nola eventually threw herself into the beasts arms, and that sudden surge of memory ended. Suddenly she was no longer entrapped in the past. But even if she was free..... Shizuyoko was shaken. A cold sweat having developed along her skin as she shakily sheathed her weapons, staring at the pair as they hugged and sobbed. She had never experienced anything like that. she had never even THOUGHT about those shinigami heirs in..... well ever. Not since several centuries after she had gone and killed them.

turning away, she refused to show just how much the woman's shikai had effected her. Nor could she show Chiku for that matter. Instead, she briskly began walking away from them, and thankfully, several shinigami from the surface seemed to have arrived. When they drew their swords Shizu simply waved them down, stopping beside them as the officers looked at her with expressions of confusion, and the Blonde simply stared calmly ahead despite how rattled she was. "the Employees have been subjugated. Go in and secure the prisoners and identify how many are still alive. Get them out of those kennels immediately." She instructed, watching them nod and rush to the room as another presence caught shizuyoko's attention.

Her brows lifted and she tilted her head as of all people she saw an injured Subida limping in her direction, nursing some sort of shoulder wound as she glanced over Shizu's shoulder at Nola and Chiku. Then giving Shizuyoko a questioning look. she didn't realize it, but her face must have said something, because before she even said anything the arrancar simply nodded slowly. That immediately made the shinigami nervous. Jesus had that effected her that much? She swallowed audibly and took a slow, cleansing breath as the arrancar spoke up.

"We ran into some trouble upstairs. There were bombs that went off soon after we closed in on the house. But most of the upstairs girls survived, and only a few of your men were hurt. I suppose we should be grateful Mr.Unoji was so shit at rigging explosives." She murmured softly, to which Shizu simply gave a slow little nod, the both of them continuing to walk until they were almost upstairs, and suddenly Shizuyoko couldn't help but start to... laugh. And not a regular laugh, but one of those harrowed, broken 'I almost died' laughs as she dropped to the floor, her eyes tearing a little as Subida simply looked on with calm understanding as the shinigami slowly rubbed her eyes and all of it came flooding to her.

Not only had she almost fucking died. Not only had she almost had a fucking 500 pound bug slam into her on an acid train, probably suffered a slow, painful death, but she, the high-ranking Omnitsukido operative who was essentially 4th seat in strength, had been saved by an unseated, lowly shinigami who only just unlocked her shikai in the midst of the operation. She wasn't even an official shinigami! She had been part of this operation simply because she had offered intel that had led to the operations' establishment and success! This had been a hell of a story, and....somehow it was just... funny to her. That the Great Yamata Orochi played second hat to some.... strange woman.

Eventually the laughter died down, Shizuyoko swallowed loudly, rubbing her eyes and letting a slow, light little chuckle escvape, looking up and eyeing Subida, her head tilting a little as the arrancar simply looked at her patiently. Subida was onestly a rare find. the only reason she had even agreed for this operation was because she had such incredible energy sensory and had smelled through Shizuyoko's disguise and smelled the arrancar on her. But... right now? Looking at Subida, she wasn't thinking about the mission. About all the people she'd saved. That they had taken down some masive crime lord, a man who had kidnapped dozens, if not hundreds of noble young women. Murdered scores of them. She wasn't thinking about any of that. She was thinking about how she had almost died. And how fucking sexy Subida looked with a bit of blood on her.

With a slow, smooth breath, Shizuyoko let that smile come back to her face. The normal, non-insane one, and got to her feet, slowly running her fingers through her hair until those bright green eyes could properly focus on the arrancar. "Yea.. we did good..... Why don't we leave? I'll write up my report later. Right now though... I wanna buy you a drink.... get a little wasted. Get a little patched up, and then I'm gonna sleep for a day and a half...." Before she paused, eyeing the arrancar before a slow, lascivious smile crossed her features. "As far as anyone else will know."

What a way to get all of that horible shit out of her head.
