Thankfully, Zack had not taken his attention off of the mentally disabled Arrancar. The sound of his screeching let the Assassin know that he was still very much alive and kicking, his gunshot somehow missing its mark despite being fired at point blank range. Whatever. Weird stuff happened from time to time. Still, his bullet hadn't been a complete waste though. It had partly done it's job, to damage and seriously wound the Arrancars body. One arm down, Aimo was left with a massive wound that was just gushing with enormous amounts of blood. In fact, Zack no longer needed to even fight. He had won. An injury like that wasn't going to be easily healed, and if Aimo continued his temper tantrum he would bleed out even more.
The sudden deployment of the spikes caught Zacks attention, his eyes just slightly widening as he noticed the slight shift in their movements. All of a sudden they fired as if Aimo was some sort of grenade. No time for complex thoughts, Zacks body instinctively reacted. He suddenly vanished. A sliver of reiatsu had been sent to his legs, enough to perform the Step Technique known as Movement. While it was often regarded as the slowest of Steps, in the hands of this Assassin it was more than enough to catch many a sluggish individual off guard. Moving at three times (2,250) his own Speed, Zack would simply vanish. Aimo wouldn't have been able to keep up physically or mentally to his opponent simply disappearing like that. However, a single step technique was not going to deal with the spikes.
What Zack had done was gone up with Movement, before relying on a second use of the technique to not only escape across the rooftop but to reappear on a completely different buildings roof. If someone had a stopwatch and stopped it on the exact second that Zack reappeared they would find that it had not even been half a second since Zack vanished. Crouched down atop the roof of, what he assumed, was another motel he watched as the spikes ripped through the other building. He was right in assuming they would have incredible penetrative power, ripping through the walls of the other hotel with such ease. Luckily, though, none of them had the remaining strength to make their way to where he was.
What Zack had done was simple. His first activation of Movement was simply to shoot upwards above the rooftop of the motel he had been staying in, then used Movement again to travel across not just the roof, but also the road behind the building, and atop the adjacent rooftop. Standing up the assassin watched the hotel come crashing down, listening to the panicked shouts of passerby's and the victims in the building. He made no move to head back to the Arrancar. There was no point. He had already won. The Arrancar wasn't going to survive with a wound like that. He would bleed out in only a few minutes and die in a puddle of his own precious blood. No reason to waste time and effort speeding up the ticking clock.
Zack already had a game plan. He was going to head towards the Karakura School District and begin his investigation. He already had a couple plans that could be carried out to help, one of which might require a quick call to Xcution to help speed along. But, regardless, Zack needed to move now. Still though, he couldn't help but wonder about two things; who had both the girl and Arrancar been? This entire fiasco only increased Zacks dislike for Karakura Town. There was a reason he avoided Spiritual Hubs.
