Suddenly Penguins. Penguins everywhere! They were in the middle of an arctic tundra, apparently. Anyway, Steve attempted to counter his own Cero with a black Cero he fired off. Joe was worried for a moment, considering how big it was, but. . . it struck his Cero, which then doubled in size, and vanished. Joe blinked. So Black Ceros from Roulette enhanced, eh? Steve had already dodged, though, so there wasn't any real damage done. Well, except to the Penguins. They got asploded.

Tch'ing, Joe dove behind a nearby snowdrift. He tapped his Zanpakuto, and murmured two phrases.

"Dice roll, set. Arsenal of Randomness and Randomized Effects, set. Go."

Steve's Zanpakutou is called Jackpot. He only has Shikai. The overall ability has no abilities, so it isn't important to write.

Zanpakutou Technique 1: Roulette

Steve rolls a die from 1-38. If he rolls an even number, the cero-like blast that comes out of his hand will be red, and will explode when it hits a target. If he rolls an odd number, the cero-like blast that comes out of his hand will be black, and will heal the target it hits. The size of the cero is equal to the die result divided by 2. It costs 150 reiatsu per roll

Zanpakutou Technique 2: Blackjack

Steve rolls two die from 1-13. That is his initial result (Ace-King). The next post, he may roll another die, and then another the next post until he is done. If he gets in between 15 and 18 points, he fires out three bladed cards in a straight direction that have piercing power equal to half his offensive stat. If he gets 19 or 20, he fires out five bladed cards in any direction (not-manipulatable) that have piercing power equal to his offensive stat. If he gets 21, he fires out seven bladed cards in any direction (manipulatable) that has piercing power equal to 150% of his offensive stat. If he goes over 21, he takes severe cuts on his arm for each number he goes over. If he gets a 23, 2 cuts. 29, 8 cuts, etc. It costs 200 reiatsu to start up the Black jack round.

Zanpakutou Technique 3: Hi-Lo

Steve rolls a die from 1-100. He then picks high or low and a stat. He must say this out loud. The next post he rolls another die. If he was correct, the chosen stat is boosted by 10%. If he was wrong, he takes a 20% cut to that stat. Costs 200 reiatsu to use.

Zanpakutou Technique 4: Die Blast

Steve rolls a die from 1-6. If he rolls a one, the die creates an Enkosen Shield. If he rolls a two, the die creates a hula hoop. If he rolls a three, the die creates a byakurai. If he rolls a four, the die creates a flower. If he rolls a five, the die creates a Shakkaho. If he rolls a six, the die creates a handful of feces. Costs 50 reiatsu to use.

Zanpakutou Technique 5: Magnitude

Steve rolls a die from 4-10. Depending on the roll, the shockwave he lets out will have more or less power.

The power is translated to strength and can have powerful bone breaking strength at Magnitudes 9 or 10. The other Magnitudes are basically useless. Magnitude can only be used once per post and costs 400 reiatsu. No matter which level of force Steve uses, his bones will start to fracture.

Zanpakutou Technique 6: All or Nothing

Steve rolls a die from 1-100. If he rolls a 42, all of his stats increase by 3x and all of his wounds heal. If he does not, he instantly passes out. Has no reiatsu cost.

And now a Holy Temple... Joe was equipped with his Leek sword that wiggled like a woman's secret toy, but Steve couldn't attack just yet. Bowing his head to the statue of the Faceless Spirit King (faceless for reverence purposes), he finished his worship before his attention went back to Joe. "BlackJack Mode 1!" Steve charged for an attack, but he did not finish it. He waited for his friend to charge before doing that.

Shikai Technique 1: Arsenal of Randomness

The first, and most simple, of Joe's skills. Melee weapons have a limited durability, and ranged weapons have limited ammunition. To get a new weapon, Joe has to use all the 'charges' of his current weapon. This technique costs 100 Reiatsu to use each time. Once it runs out, it reverts back to a regular Zanpakuto. So, let's see what Joe has in store for his opponent, eh?

Joe rolls a six sided dice, each side representing a different weapon. A 1 results in a regular, rusted sword. It works just like a Zanpakuto does, except its cutting power is less than one. It can barely cut butter! This sword has ten whacks in it before it splinters. A 2, however, results in a spiritual hand-gun, a revolver to be exact. This gun has six shots, and fires Bala-like blasts of energy. However, they only move as fast as Joe's RS allows. Which is 200. A roll of 3 results in. . . a stick. This is just a regular stick. Nothing more, nothing less. A roll of 4 results in a much BIGGER (by about three feet) sword! That happens to be in the shape of a leek. It is also very sharp The leek constantly vibrates, giving it a chainsaw like quality. This has five hits in it before it breaks. A five results in. . . a book. The book has ten pages. These pages can fly out of the book and at some poor smuck. The pages are, in fact, actual pages. They are very harmless. Roll a 6, though. . . and you get a one shot heat seeking rocket launcher! Pretty cool, eh?! That's it for this technique!

Shikai Technique 2: Random Blast

This is a bit trickier. By rolling a twelve sided dice, Joe can produce up to four different kinds of blasts. 1-3 produces an honest-to-god-Cero. 4-6 creates a blast of a green gelatinous substance. It secretly is lime flavored jello. 7-9 results in a blast of hot air. Really, really useless. Lastly, 10-12 results in a force blast, causing a shockwave of energy to pulse out around Joe and blast anything within two meters of him away. Costs 150 Reiatsu to use.

Shikai Technique 3: Random Tempo!

An interesting little technique to be sure. By rolling a d10 Random Tempo creates a musical beat that only Joe can hear. 2-4-6? That's a slow beat. It lowers his own speed by half, for a duration of three posts. 1-3-5? Now that's a little different! That's a fast paced tempo, increasing his speed by 2x for a duration of three posts! 7-10? Eh. That does nothing. Costs 175 Reiatsu to use.

Shikai Technique 4: Randomized Effects

Now here's something fun! Rolling a d50, any number that happens to be a factor of 5 instantly applies a cool effect to whatever weapon Joe has out at the moment. All of these happen to be benificial, and last for a good four posts.

This is. . . an odd technique. Rolling a d10, up to five different perspectives can be used. Odd, Joe gets it. Even, his opponent gets it. 1-2 is Anime Perspective, 3-4 is Muppet Perspective, 5-6 is 80's Perspective, 7-8 is Comic Perspective, and 9-10 is Grimdark Perspective. Costs 150 Reiatsu to use.

Shikai Technique 6: Final Randoming - Racial Random

The final, and potentially most powerful, technique in Joe's arsenal. It comes with a staggering 450 Reiatsu cost, but could well be worth it. Using this technique, one, single, Class 5-4-3 Non-Release/Reserved Technique can be used from the following Races: Quincy (Non-Vanden), Shinigami, Arrancar, Bount, Humans. A d15 is rolled, and each number represents a different Race and Technique Class. 1-3 is Classes 5-4-3 of Quincies. 4-6 is the same for Shinigami. 7-9 is the same for Arrancar. 10-12 is the same for Bount. 13-15 is the same for Humans. A second dice roll determines what technique he uses. Can only be used up to three times per Shikai.

Joe smirked as he held his giant leek sword. It was quite a powerful weapon, and would rip through things like a chainsaw! Sadly, the effects didn't go off this time. Ahh well, this was good enough for now. Glancing around, he was a bit surprised. The battlefield hadn't actually changed like the last few times it had. He shrugged and faced his friend, noticing that he had drawn five cards. His eyes narrowed. He'd be able to block them with his sword, but. . . it'd be broken after that. He had a bit of a solution, but it was risky. . .

Well they were back to the frozen wasteland, and the penguins that had died before were no longer dead, but were walking around. So apparently they went to a new area every time, not returned to the exact same one. A smile grew on steve's face as the cards he drew grew into dangerous weapons. He fired the five cards in a small grouping, aimed to wreck Joe's sword. As that blast fired out, he once again prayed for good luck and shot something else out. "Roulette!" Hopefully this blast would be more favorable.

"Oh wow this looks weird."

Joe blinked at the surrounding Holy Temple. Everything looked like it belonged in a cartoon! 'Ell, even Steve looked like some bishe-styled anime character. Apparently he had screwed up with that roll 'o the dice. Speaking of which, he was being assaulted by cards! Joe was able to dodge it quite handily, the changed perspective not being one of the worse ones he could have gotten. Steve then fired out another cero-like attack, which Joe dodged with a swift Shunpo. Where did he Shunpo? Certainly not behind Steve, that's for sure! No, he was in front of him, after the red cero fired.

The shock of having his entire perspective changed had to cause Joe to slip up a little. The cards flying at him couldn't all be dodged with just a single sidestep without shunpo, so his leek sword would have taken a card or two as a hit. As the terrain shifted back to the tundra, Joe called out his Random Perspectives attack again, and suddenly Steve found himself in a very frightening place. The ice started to become stained with blood as the corpses of the penguins he slew rose up from the small break in the ice. They spewed maggots from their body as they washed ashore, the bugs flying in putrid clouds.

Grossed out by the grim dark perspective, Steve barely had time to react to Joe catching up to him with his vibrating Leek sword. He had but one option at a time like this. It was going to hurt, but he had to take the risk. "Magnitude!" A shockwave pulse would burst out of Steve, hopefully being strong enough to throw Joe backwards and damage him. The chance was slim, but was still possible for the Shinigami to get. It was all based on the luck of the roll. As Steve felts his bones fracture from the attack he cast, he waited and hoped for a favorable response from Joe. If it came to it, he still had one last card up his sleeve.

Joe was slammed by a wave of force, just barely able to reposition his sword to help absorb the blow. Barely. It was able to absorb some of the impact, but only just. The blast threw him a good distance away from Steve, causing him to roll across the rocky field that they started in. Still, that blast did a number on him. His arms suffered the worst of the attack, as well as his legs, but his stomach, chest, and head areas were sparred too much damage, because of the sword. It was cracking, though, as Joe looked at it. It had been hit four times, three cards and the blast. There was one more swing left, and then it was gone.

Grunting as he attempted to get up, Joe looked back at Steve.

"Well, ahh. . . haa . . that was a good roll. Haa. . . haa. . . Though one of my gambits failed, it looks like the other one worked. Tell me. . . ha. . . what did you see?"

He was going to have to do something dicey again to get the advantage. Tapping his sword, a beat that no one but him could hear started going. Softly, he spoke.

"Random Tempo. . . Set, go."

Steve was getting close to his last trick up his sleeve. He was running out of reiatsu and he had barely started wounding Joe. Now that Joe's speed had doubled, there was definitely a short amount of time for Steve to end the fight. They had built up a lot of randomness, but it hadn't yet satiated the Random Dimension. Maybe one of them had to die in order for them to escape. Maybe. Maybe. The Roulette blast was hopefully favorable, and hopefully kept Joe from finishing his reckless charge. If it wasn't, then Steve was going to take a nasty slash to the torso and there wasn't much he could do about it. His Die blast might also keep him safe, but it could produce literal crap just as often as it produced an actually helpful Kidou.

A mix of drums and synthesized sound entered Joe's ears as he stood back up. By the sound of it. . . he grinned. He had gotten the roll he wanted! His entire body was energized by the music, it's own rhythm catching up to the pace of the song. In his state of heightened speed, he noticed that they were now in a rainforest. How quaint.

Steve began to speak, and channeled his Reiatsu once more. Joe was ready this time. He called out the name of his Roulette attack, followed quickly by a second attack, a Byakurai it looked like. Joe was already in motion, ignoring the groaning protest of his body. He handily sidestepped the red cero-like beam. However, he was about to do something a little bit different, and, were he thinking straighter, would probably call it insane. In the middle of the Die Blast attack, Joe twisted his leek sword out to the right, and Shunpoed. He Shunpoed barely past Steve. What did that mean? It meant that there was a gigantic leek-shaped-chainsaw-sword that was going to bisect Steve if he didn't move! Granted, he might be hit by the Byakurai as well, but being a Byakurai. . . it wasn't going to do all that much damage.

Joe made sure the Shunpo would put him well away from Steve when he was done with it. It wasn't a guaranteed hit, after all. Still, at the speed he was moving, and the speed the Shunpo put him at, it would be exceptionally hard to react to the sword coming at him, especially at that close a range. There was one last thing Joe needed to do. Thrusting his hands out in Steve's direction, if he had survived/moved/etc, he declared the name of his finest attack. His potentially strongest attack.

Technique Description and Effects:If Final Silence is not active while the technique is in use then the Technique will spawn it's own bow for the Quincy to use. This bow will have one property that has been selected by the Quincy upon activation on the technique. The technique cannot but used multiple times at once. Only a handful of properties are available for the Quincy to choose from. The options to choose from are: 50, Single Bounce, Explode, Lightning, Fire, Ice, Top Class, or Undetectable.

50- 50 arrows can be fired from the bow at once.
Single Bounce- The arrows will bounce one time before they become active.
Explode- Causes an explosion upon impact.
Lightning- Causes things to be shocked and electrified.
Fire- Causes things to burn and be set to flames.
Ice- Causes things to freeze and sometimes even shatter.
Top Class- All arrows are treated as the class of the Quincy using the technique. Each arrow costs only the price of a class 7 arrow.
Undetectable- This makes arrows unable to be sensed, and also renders them invisible.

How to use technique: The Quincy focuses his or her reiatsu into their hand just as they would a bow, the property doesn't require the users full attention to maintain, the requirement is the reaitsu cost per post.

Drawback: The technique costs 150 reaitsu per post it's active.

{Class 3 Tech}Technique Name: Pfeilspitze

Technique Type: Quincy Technique

Technique Description and Effects:
This technique can be used in two ways. One is to restrain and the other is to attack. They both require close combat and are activated in almost the exact same way. The restraining form takes a white color. It forms a thick line from the users forearm down to their palm. The user then makes contact an area which then forms a reaitsu string from the users hand to that spot. Nothing happens at this point. The user then must touch their hand to another separate location. When doing this the reaitsu string constricts pulling the two locations together. Depending on what is touched different effects will occur. Example being if the user touches an opponent and the ground then they will be pulled in that spot to the ground. if the user touches two spots on the opponent trapping in a limb then it will constrict and hold down a limb. If the user touches two separate opponents then they will be pulled together. However the string will only extend to two feet. Once mastered the user can thread the string into more locations so to speak. Using one hand touch as many locations as the user needs to. This can be done to sew things or people together, and hold them from moving. For every additional spot the cost increases by 50.

The aggressive use of starts off the same way but it takes the color of a light blue. The user must touch a location or their opponent then move that same hand one foot away from that spot. This causes the string to constricts and forces the users hand to plunge into the touched area. The user can shatter stone with this technique, and penetrate anything to some degree as long as it isn't made of spiritual energy. If it is made of spiritual energy then it requires superior rieatsu strength. Once this technique is mastered the user can touch their middle fingers together then touch their target with either hand, and as long as both of the users hands are one foot apart then the hand not touching the spot will be immediately plunged into that spot.

How to use technique: The quincy focuses some of their reaitsu down their forearm and around their fingertips. The technique can be used on both hands at once.

Drawback: 400 reaitsu per use. When using the retraining form it costs 150 reaitsu per post to maintain the hold each post after the post of activation. Additionally using the aggressive form can be risky, if the target has more RS then it will cause the bones in the users hand to break.

Imosekai is a Bakudo that is unlike any other. For proof, its elemental effect is potatoe. This Kidou has two activation methods, detailed below. When one is completed, and the Bakudo activated, the target feels a wave of nausea come over them. This is a fairly easily ignored feeling, but those targets of low constitution may vomit. If they do vomit, they will find that only mashed potatoes soaked in gravy pours from their throat. After the initial wave of nausea ends, the targets vision fades. They do not become blind, nor is their sense of sight impaired. What happens is that all of the colors that one sees fade until all that they see is shades of brown. With exceptional analysis skill, or focused eye, they should be able to keep on fighting as if nothing happened, but suddenly only being able to see in browns is shocking to say the least.

The second stage of this Bakudo is optional for the user, and requires the secondary incantation to be spoken. When the target’s vision has been only brown for at least 2 posts, and the secondary incantation is spoken, then the targets sense of touch fades until all that they touch feels like the coarse skin of a potatoe. This can be both a blessing and a curse, as they won’t feel any pain, but cannot easily feel things anymore. Manipulating weapons and such is difficult if they cannot easily acclimate to it.

If the target still doesn’t succumb for at least 4 posts after their touch has been made like a potatoe, then the third incantation can be used. It activates the final stage of the bakudo. The target first loses the remainder of their senses (smell, taste, hearing, energy sensory) and finds themselves stuck in the form of a potatoe. This potatoe is indestructible save for reiatsu strength greater than 3x the user’s reiatsu strength, so unless someone far stronger than the caster of this Kidou comes along, they may permanently be a potatoe if they cannot break themselves out.

How to use technique (How is it activated?): The first way, the easiest way, to activate this technique is through skin-skin contact of the user and target. If this method is chosen, then the incantation is not required. The second method is to pick up dirt, state the incantation, and fling it at the target. If any dirt lands on the skin of the target, then the bakudo is activated. The secondary incantation can be used after a minimum of two posts, and activates the second stage even if physical contact has not been made. The third stage requires physical contact to be made throughout the utterance of the incantation, and the second stage must have been active for 4 posts before it was started.

Technique Drawbacks (Limitations, repercussions for use, etc) Reiatsu Strength superior by 50% of the users can break through this Bakudo, as can an Illusion Resist of 3. Has a sizeable reiatsu cost for something that does not immobilize a target. The Third Stage cannot be resisted by Illusion Resist, and instead requires more than double the user’s reiatsu strength to break on their own.

This is the staple technique which all Bount develop eventually with age, though of course it takes practice to master. This technique allows Bount to sink into the shadows, and melt into the darkness. As long as there is a shadow that the Bount stands over or in contact with, they can melt their entire body into it. In this way, they can reside within the shadow and watch situations unfold, with only glowing red eyes showing from inside of the shadow. Or, instead, they can disappear completely into the shadow and use it to transport themselves. Bount can travel anywhere within shadows as long as these shadows are connected. So if two shadows are disjointed, Bount cannot travel in between them. This makes this technique most effective at night, especially during a new moon. The class 5 version is the most commonly used, and allows the Bount to sink at half their speed. Class 4 allows full speed sinking. Class 3 allows double speed sinking.

The higher class of technique they used within the last 24 hours, the more they will burn. If the class 3 version was used, the burning may even kill them if they stay in sunlight long enough.

Technique Drawback:

The user puts strain on their leg each time they use the technique because of the force with which they have to kick out to create the reiatsu blade. The legs of the user will be virtually useless after 6 times of using the technique.

For example, if one had a sword for a release and used this technique, the reiatsu would create an invisible length to the weapon. The technique, being designed by an assassin who uses a blade, was made to become invisible so his opponents would be caught off guard. This technique extends the length and reach of a weapon by 0.5 meters for every 100 in someones reiatsu strength, and only gets bigger for each perfect 100. Of course, this means the strength of the reiatsu is determined by ones reiatsu strength as well. This technique is good for sneak attacks, as the reiatsu cannot be detected by anything but a Energy Sensing of 100 or by techniques designed to detect Reiatsu (such as Pesquis). Upon activation of the technique, the reiatsu that flows from the users body cats the weapon and grows with a speed equaling at least 400]

Technique Description and Effects: An advanced version of the lesser Firecracker technique, this one is actually meant to maim and kill, whereas its weaker version is meant to distract and slow. When this technique is used, the user can create a field of Reiatsu over a fifty square foot radius. Within this field, at any time, the user can detonate a section with the force of a large mine for the cost of 50 Reiatsu. An explosion does not use up an area of the minefield; the section is instantly replenished and can be detonated again.

How to use technique: Build up Reiatsu and spread it over an area, holding it in a steady wave beneath the ground before detonating it through simple focusing.

Drawback: This technique gets expensive; besides the initial cost of the technique, it also costs 50 Reiatsu per explosion, and atop that it costs an additional 100 Reiatsu per post to maintain the field. Atop that, it is tiring to maintain the field for long periods of time; after three posts, the pressure of holding it starts to wear on the user, and only gets worse after that.

Joe stood in the frozen tundra, the terrain finally ceasing it's endless changing. His leek-sword dissipated, flaking away like ash, as it revealed his Zanpakuto once more. A flash of light indicated that it had reverted back to it's sealed state. While it had changed back to it's sealed form, the music of Random Tempo still played. However, as if sensing Joe's emotions, it shifted it's tone to one of sadness and melancholy. He sighed and walked over to Steve's body, grabbing his Zanpakuto and the remains of his Shinakusho.

"May the infinite randomness of life never forget you, Steve, as the tides of the unknown and seemingly pointless things guide you to a new life."

As if knowing what to do next, Joe turned around, and walked in a seemingly random direction. Moments later, a gigantic penguin head made out of snow erupted from the ground, and quickly 'swallowed' Joe. He found himself back in his Division's barracks. He got up and walked out, and was. . . quite surprised. He blinked. Apparently the entirety of his Division had been replaced by. . . women. Everything froze. In his mind, one thought roared out.
