"Workers, Lanric? That means that there will be some sort of records on them, which could help us ferret out any potential connections."
Lanric allowed himself a small smile.
"My thoughts exactly."
It was at that moment that Aar-ek spoke up.
"I d-d-didn't find anything besides the shots in his face. Want me to ch-ch-check again?"
While it did help ease Lanric's mind a bit, he still wasn't sure. He frowned before speaking once more to Aar-Ek.
"Yes, try and find if there was anything you missed, any mark or anything."
After that, Maria found the door and the poor sod that was near the door when the three burst out. Her guess seemed accurate enough, matching up in Lanric's mind to what training he had received at the Academy. Hmm. Might they be able to find something in there, perhaps?
"Well. The worker's quarters. Makes sense, since this is where I saw the three. There might be some clue or hint in there, though considering what jumped out, it pays to be careful. Aar-ek, continue searching, and if you find nothing, come help assist us. If something happens, we'll need your help as well. Stay safe."
Turning to Maria, Lanric nodded.
"I'll cover you."
With that, Lanric drew his Laspistol again and slowly moved towards the door, placing himself at the edge of the threshold. He cautiously peeked around the corner, ready to dart back in if something happened. At least he had a helmet on.
Whatever happened, a few moments later, the sounds of metal impacting metal could be heard. A different member of the Adeptus Mechanicus was here this time, along with an older lookong man. Depending on what happened earlier, Lanric was either in the room with Maria, or still on the threshold. If he was on the threshold, he would still have his weapon out. Blinking, he would call for Maria and lower his weapon.
"I'm pleased to see you are alright. Forgive me Acolytes, I would not have called you here if I had suspected the rebellion to have reached this far. If you would like, I have managed to arrange you transport to one of our main Manufactorums, the place where the first signs of the rebellion were recorded. Of course if you would like to investigate here, that is more than acceptable."
Lanric nodded, frowned, and contemplated.
"Well. . . ideally, we would investigate both areas, but. . . I'm not so sure in a situation like this. Aar-ek, Maria, what do you two think?"1d100
