Well, he took the bagel. Zack was relieved he took the small snack, since Zack was the one who paid for it after all. Honestly, the Seven Guns operative should be more grateful that Zack spent his own, hard earned cash on him. It was silly to expect anything else of it. As Pavel-san spoke, Zack watched with a fake entertained expression. "I know. They are no where near us but I know where they are. I will know where they will go. And if need be, we will make sure they are just another casualty in this entire job. That is, of course if they prove to be a nuisance. But we are here for a different priority. What we need is to gain the specifics. Patients have been disappearing. This job, if it was truly as simple as it sounds would of sent someone lower than you to investigate or we would of ignored it, either the client is paying top money to ensure what they want is found and our employers truly do not know what they are walking into." the XSG operative explained. Zack nodded his head, understanding the situation.[/i] Zack mentally scoffed as he stepped into the elevator and rested against the wall. He didn't say anything, or think much, as the elevator went up a single floor. They could have taken the stairs.
"If it were as simple as top dollar I don't believe they would have sent you in, Doctor Xi. I have learned to trust my instincts and right now they are telling me things arnt what they seem to be." Zack said, opening his bag of chips and blinking. The bag was less than half full. The man stared into the practically empty bag with a bland, expressionless face before he looked up at Pavel and chuckled, displaying the bag. Of course Zack would buy a basically empty bag of chips. Of course, the world was after his money.
Finishing their "meals" the two began to move again. Walking through the hospital, Zack couldn't help but feel a tad bit overwhelmed. Here he was, with an Xcution Seven Guns, trying to track down the cause of numerous disappearances within this hospital. The issue was that neither of them had much information to go off of. That never made Zack happy. He was the sort of man who needed to know every little detail about a job or it would make him nervous and anxious.
"I can't speak Chinese."
Zacks eyes went to the back of Pavels head, widening slightly. He couldn't be serious. A Xcution Seven Guns who couldn't even speak a different language. This had to be a joke, right? Seriously. Pavel wasn't the first one, either. Shizuka Sanamizu, during their job in Germany, expressed that she couldn't speak German. Zack had assumed that the top members would have some skills in speaking different languages. The fact that they didn't made Zack a little nervous. Xcution should have at least trained you. I don't like being peoples personal translator.
Following Pavel, the younger assassin could feel the spiritual presence of the three Shinigami. Narrowing his eyes, he stopped following as Pavel went off to do his thing and get closer. Zack, on the other hand, hung back against a wall. He was hidden from sight due to the cross shaped hallways and because of the crowds of people. Zack decided to take a peak, as his skills in Stealth would keep him from being seen. When he looked he spied the three Shinigami and took their appearances in. The first, who seemed to be the strongest based off his energy, looked to be a child no older than fourteen. Shinigami had children among their ranks? Well, there was a underage member in Xcution so Zack couldn't judge. But, looking fourteen and outputting this much energy was...amazing. Zack watched the kid as his cheeks were pinched, seeming to both enjoy it and detest it.
With his animal like hearing, Zack caught something that the boy said. He mentioned the disappearances and how the Gotei might not have been the only ones to receive the message. Well he was right. They might be here for the same reason we are...[/i] Zack thought, turning his gaze to the next person. A plain looking nurse. There was nothing truly unique about her appearance, save for the energy she also emitted which was noticeably weaker than the boys and fair less in quantity. She seems...normal? Don't underestimate her by her looks, Zack. You've done that before and it didn't end well.[/i] with that, Zack brought his attention to the third Shinigami. His eyes widened with surprise.
Anastasia-san!?[/i] Zack mentally questioned, his face adopting a face of shock as he pulled his gaze away. Anastasia Solis. Zack knew her. Zack knew her quite well. The two had spent a interesting evening drinking together, talking and having fun. Zack, while drunk, had revealed he was a Fullbringer to her and in return had learned a few things about Shinigami and Hollows from her. That was the shortened, to the point version of that story. There was a LOT of drinking, and a lot of flirting between the two. And, if Zack recalled correctly, the young man had asked the attractive Shinigami out on a date. That....had yet to be followed up actually. Why it wasn't yet followed up wasn't important, the fact that she was here was. Zack did not expect her to be here, he almost didn't expect to ever see her again. The fact she was here gave Zack a cocktail of excitement and nervousness. Anastasia knew who he was, she knew his face. That could hinder the mission.
When Pavel returned and spoke, Zack eyed him. He wanted to follow the Shinigami? What was the point in that? They seemed to be here for the same reason. Zack was a cautious man, a man who did things carefully and professionally. The Shinigami failed to pose a threat at this time, as they only seemed to want to investigate the recent disappearances like the two operatives were. So, why stalk them? "Doctor Xi, if I may make a suggestion. From what I heard, those three Shinigami might be here for the same reason we are. Rather than trail them, maybe we should continue on our own mission and deal with them if they do in fact prove to be a problem." Zack offered. He was following his gut, which usually never lead him wrong.
However, the two assassins would not get a chance to do anything. As soon as Zack shut his mouth, two doctors and a nurse suddenly rushed Pavel, squabbling in chinese. One grabbed his arm, trying to pull him and point to a room down the hall. Zack blinked, listening to what was said. “Yīshēng, kuài shànglái! Nǐ kàn qǐlái dà ér qiáng, wǒmen xūyào nǐ de jīròu!” one of the nurses said, as they pulled on Pavel. Zack blinked, looking at Pavel and translating it. ”They say you look strong, they need your muscle. You should help, see if you cant figure something out.” Zack said, stepping away from the four of them with a playful smile. ”I’m going to go do a little investigating, good luck Doctor Xi.” Zack said with a chuckle, vanishing into the crowd as he made his way down the hall.[/size][/blockquote]
Pavel would be lead down a hall, being squabbled at in Chinese. That would end when one man walked up to them, walking beside them. "You don't speak much Chinese, do you? Its fine, you must be a transfer like myself. Welcome to Beijing. My name is Ho-pung. Listen, hate to drag you away from everything and your walk in, but we kinda need your help. You look strong." Ho-pung said as he lead them to one room. Pavel would see quite the site. A man of unbelievable size, spread out like some fat pancake, moaning and groaning in pain. "The patient has sores all over his legs. We need your help getting to them. Can you...uhm...lift his folds?" Ho-pung asked, chuckling embarrassingly.
On the Shinigami side, they would also suddenly be swarmed by busy workers. ”Ah! There you are!” a female voice suddenly erupted, interrupting the three. A elderly women stepped towards Kazuko, taking his hand into hers. Despite her frail appearance, her grip was like iron the young Shinigami. ”Don’t run off deary! You need to come back with me now, don’t want your parents getting worried. It’s just about story time! I got something spooky for my little children tonight~” the elderly woman said. Her voice was full of warmth as she began to pull Kazuko with her. As for Anastasia and Yusuke, they didn’t get as lucky. ”Ahem!” they would suddenly hear behind them. If the two looked, they would see a very angry looking doctor. ”You damn scrubs, don’t even speak Chinese yet they transfer you all the way out here? Well, I guess its better than not getting help! My name is Doctor Browning, and I want you BOTH to come with me. First off, you, that outfit is inappropriate. I have no idea where you got the idea to wear it, but I want it changed as soon as you can!” Browning said, putting his hands on their shoulders and tightening his grip. ”There is a storm out there, people are hurt and sick. Its time to get to work! Forget what you are doing, we need you two.” he pointed at Anastasia and Yusuke”There is a man in room 32-C who needs his IV changed, go do it. And after you are done with that, there is a woman who came in from an accident. Shes in a coma right now, see if you cant do something to make her more comfortable. GET TO WORK.” he shouted at the two.
As the three Shinigami were spread apart, they would have no idea they were actually being watched. Above them on the wall, was a single creature watching them. A small wasp crawled along the walls, flexing its wings as it watched them with its hexagon-plated eyes. Never blinking, not making a sound, not even giving off a blip of reiatsu it watched. It watched and it recorded. The insect tilted its head as it flicked its wings before moving them at a speed no other being could match. It took flight, downwards into one of the vent shafts in the floor. Down it flew through the maze of ventilation tunnels, never making a mistake. Within a few minutes, it flew into a darkened and open room. The room looked to be a lounge. Three couches, a table, a fridge, a tv, a sink, and even a bathroom. Three figures sat around on the couches, watching a “comedy” on the tv.
The wasp flew and landed on the shoulder of one of the figures. It crept along its shoulder, up its neck and face, and then into its ear and vanishing. The figure shivered then smiled. ”We’ve got some guests.” the figure said with a clearly female voice. This drew the attention of the other two figures. ”Oh? I thought I felt something but I couldn’t be sure.” the second, smaller figure said as it sat forward. The third, a massive figure, was silent. ”Three Shinigami it seems. A little boy, and two delicious looking ladies. Mmmm~” the girl replied, moaning a little with her words. The other figure chuckled ”Fucking Shinigami eh? Hah! What a joke. Ah well, I will be adding three more to my collection! Are there any others?” ”I think their might be two or three other guests, but I cant tell. They’re hiding their reiatsus quite well.” she responded with a “tch”. ”Heh, no matter. Soon, we will make sure those Shinigami check into this hospital…permanently.”
