A smile came to Yamamoto's face as Itou challenged him. He brightened up immediately, and pulled out his Zanpakuto enthusiastically. "Of course! It would be an honor!" He exclaimed, or more likely chirped happily. Because it was a graduation ceremony in a way, the battles were done one by one, and each student was given the opportunity to watch the battles of the others. The Kasumi'Oji woman was extraordinarily capable, and won her battle extremely easily. Rumi also won her battle, though her foe gave her a bit of trouble.
Now, something surprising happened when Jagger came around for his battle. He was not battling a fellow fifth year student. It was announced that Jagger had in fact been competing prior to this exam in an academy combat tournament which Itou and Yamamoto had both missed the deadline for signing up for. It had been going for the last couple of weeks, with Jagger ascending to the final battle, and then taking a break to go to take his exam in the forest. He had been planning on finishing up afterward, and since it was the final match, not to mention he was obscenely rich, his requests were heeded and his desires were allowed.
The third year student facing off against Jagger was extremely tall, taller than Jagger was, standing at around six foot three or six foot four, with dark skin and a lanky body. The battle was faster than one would have expected. Jagger was a blitz of movement, but all of his strikes were easily guarded against, despite his unimaginable skill and prowess. In a two minute battle, not a Kido he cast was successful, and not a strike he delivered landed. "Enough..." the third year murmured, and guarded against Jagger's next strike. An electric shock resounded from his blade as Jagger's encountered it, and it stunned Jagger still. The dark skinned student proceeded to disarm Jagger and knock him out in a quick movement, ending the battle. A third year had defeated the ace of the entire academy, Jagger Kawada.
There were murmurs of surprise and shock as Jagger was carried out, and the dark skinned student left with an extremely bored look on his face. He looked very, very disappointed. Following this, Itou and Yamamoto were placed into combat against one another. At last, it was time to see which of them had grown the farthest on his journey. "Good luck, Itou," Yamamoto said cheerfully. "I'll see you at graduation."
