There was a problem with any thought process believing that Sokuho would take seconds to use reiatsu fragmentation. He'd used it earlier, also while swinging around his weapon. It had looked from afar like his scythe caught and shredded all of the attacks that Cierro had sent out at him. In fact, this was untrue. None of them had been caught by the scythe, because they'd been caught by reiatsu fragmentation. Controlling it was the first stage of the 5/5 policy, though it did not seem like Sokuho had the second stage or beyond, thus far at any rate. This weight he could apply to the legs was similar to gravitational sickening, but it was definitely vastly different. This of course was a good thing for Yuki and Cierro. Gravitational sickening would have doomed them against Sokuho, certainly.
The Cero that Yuki fired out seemed to "digitize" into pixels, and then shatter. This of course was exactly what happened. It shattered because of Sokuho's reiatsu fragmentation. This was problematic. In the past, it was noteworthy that the Espada had not been able to defeat their Escudo counterparts. They'd been definitively inferior. They reason that the Espada won at the time was because of their technology adviser, The Baker. Brought to Las Noches by Noveno Espada Asuka Hitotoki, he kept mostly to himself and his room, and was seldom even heard of. However, when his assistance had been required, and when C-weapons had still held power in the world, he'd created "Tercera Capsules," which in the high tiers of the time had induced a "Tercera Etapa," at least in Yuki's case.
This ultimately had been the power which let them fight against the 5/5 policy. These capsules had come with multiple levels of a new power to fight against each individual level of the policy. However, the strain on one's system was too great. Use of them would not work again on those who had already once before used them. To be certain, many Espada had been swapped out at this time. However, it would be hard to craft new ones, and some of the new Espada were arguably too weak to handle this power. Therefore, if the 5/5 policy made a return, there would be blood, and it would belong to the Espada. Sokuho did not make himself an easy opponent when he carved Yuki's arm, and it became evident quite quickly that this movement technique was not like Gravitational Sickening had been. It was a latent, background activation. This meant he did not control it. It naturally crushed Yuki into place, causing the next Cero to be point blank range. This time, the shattering was faster. It shattered in her mouth before it even fired.
Sokuho's scythe continued whirling around Yuki's body. If she did not defend in some way, or at least gain defense from Cierro, she would most certainly be killed by the flicking around of that scythe, which would carve her body up. Regardless, it should not be difficult to at least find some way to block for her, or for her to block for herself, or to get her out of the way. It might require Yuki to release to survive, certainly. Cierro and Yuki both had relatively weak energy sensory, but even they should both be able to feel it. A new, powerful reiatsu surge was coming up from underground. It was stopping from floor to floor, and reiatsu signatures on each floor definitely lessened in number. Someone below ground was systematically killing others that were also below ground.
