Kuroi's eyes maintained their solemn look the instant Kouhai entered the room. He didn't need to change his manner at all, for he'd already been calm and silent from the start of this meeting. He watched Adalo and Cierro make fools of themselves, and from across the table even realized Cierro was reading something with a stupid look on his face. Whatever it was, Kuroi didn't care, and he wasn't going to punish the inferior Espada right now. Not in the meeting room, and not in the presence of Kouhai. If Kouhai was displeased, he would punish Cierro with a power greater than Kuroi's. While Kuroi believed that he'd win in a confrontation against Kouhai, he was well aware that he was weaker than Kouhai as a whole. Therefore, it was wise to fear and respect his power. He therefore listened attentively while Kouhai went through with his greetings and pleasantries, his openings into conversation.
This should be good. Despite stupidity, Cierro had asked a rather interesting question, as had Adalo. Attack Soul Society...? That would be interesting. Kuroi had scores to settle with two of Soul Society's Captains. Okusa Shogen, whom Kuroi had failed to defeat, though he had not lost to him either, was the first. That one was simply a matter of the battle concluding before there was a victor. Kuroi couldn't stand for that, so he'd have to crush Okusa, though it should be painfully clear to Okusa that Kuroi was stronger. During their last encounter, Kuroi had proven to be the one with the upperhand, dominating the fight in a sealed state while Okusa was forced to use his greatest power. At the same time, there was Enma, who Kuroi recalled fighting on par. Enma was a masterful, challenging adversary to say the least. At the same time, during a time when Kuroi had been weakened, he'd captured Kuroi.
Kuroi had escaped of course, but being captured had been a rather large blow to his pride, and one that he was most certainly never willing to stand for. Then, he recalled other Captains. Alkaid, the weak Squad 2 Captain, whom Kuroi had defeated without breaking a sweat in a sealed state while Alkaid used Bankai. He had even defeated her without the use of his Zanpakuto, or any weapon for that matter. The same was true of his victory over Hara, and the one over a former captain, Mythik, now known to be deceased after a disappearance during the times of Ogatago. Come to think of it, Kuroi recalled that the vast majority of the Arrancar in this room had not participated or even been around during that time. That was a one-up of experience. The Ogatago had been brutally fearsome enemies that employed the same technique as the Vizards, Hollowfication, except that they'd been far stronger than Vizards.
Kuroi also vaguely remembered his Fraccion, Nijuu, had defeated the Gotei Thirteen Captain known as Shiro. Certainly, Soul Society would be the inferior force should Las Noches choose to invade the Gotei Thirteen. Then again, the strong ones, such as the Captain Commander, might prove overwhelming. Perhaps it was too risky for now, Kuroi didn't actually know. He supposed that was that Kouhai was here to answer today. He didn't ask any questions, for he wanted Kouhai to answer Cierro and Adalo before anything else. His interest had been peaked at last. Even Cain, he noticed, was at least mildly interested, despite a lack of emotions. Kuroi sat straighter forwards and watched, his eyes intently following Kouhai so that he could grasp every single word and hear the answers to the questions.
And, just like that, Kouhai spoke a response. "Certainly, my good Cierro, my good Adalo, you have read my mind." His eyes were so cold...so evil. His aura was like...tentacles. The black tentacles were sickening to smell, to feel, to take in and sense at all. They writhed and twisted around each and every single one of the Espada, and seemed particularly married to Asuka for certain, as she was the weakest and therefore the most afraid. They snaked in and out of each Espada, ghostly smoke in the shape of tentacles, the most chilling and icy of reiatsu. That was what it felt like just to be in Kouhai's presence, even when he held back. "As some of you, those that have been at this table for the longest may know...I have always planned for us to invade Soul Society. I have always planned to conquer it, and then go even further, and take the Spirit King, just as my predecessor Azeru Cho attempted."
"What is different is that our forces have become far more powerful, now! We have the Akki, and we have stronger Espada than in the past. We are more numerous and powerful in our other forces. And, certainly...there is yet another thing. When next we attack...The Gotei Thirteen will be weak. Made weak by other threats. That is our advantage!" Kouhai continued to smile, though he stopped speaking for a moment so that he could pick up his cup and take a simple sip of tea. "Those who are strong are simply The Captains, dear Adalo. Squad 12's Sayuri, Squad 7's Enma, Squad 10's Okusa, Squad 11's Saix, Squad 8's Ranmyaku, all of these are relatively powerful enemies. To sum up the point of this meeting, my dear Espada, our time to attack has arrived. Seek out strong Arrancar for now! When the Ten Espada have been gathered, when our Espada is complete, the full moon following shall be our attack on Soul Society."
