Kaen expected the hook-- or at least for Fuuko to retaliate at least somewhat. His shoulder rolled up to partially deflect and mitigate the blow, but the third seat's fist still collided pretty solidly with his cheek, snapping his head to the side from the blow-- and eliciting a grin from Kaen as he felt pain radiate through his face. It was so rare that he encountered someone capable of actually causing him noticeable harm with physical attacks, rarer still he encountered them in a situation he was allowed to enjoy the experience. Either way it didn't interrupt the throw that sent Fuuko crashing to the ground and allowed Kaen a moment to re-establish himself, spinning back around to face his momentarily dazed opponent.
"First of all, don't apologize for the arm. That's my mistake. I told you to fight me full-on, and you did. Don't you hold back on me because of this." Kaen snapped, finishing with a slightly more aggressive tone than he'd started at. As for her comments on his fighting technique....
"I dunno, you think you can stop me doing that to you~" He teased with a grin. His left arm reached across his body to the blade on his back and drew the shortsword that was his Zanpakuto. He twirled it easily into a reverse grip and then shifted his weight back so that the blade was behind him, in an almost classical "DND Rogue" pose. Then there was a flare of reiatsu-- only a quick one, and the blade transfigured into a red-orange light, wrapping itself around Kaen's forearm into an armguard.
"But you're making this fun for me, so I'll indulge you too."
Fwish
Kaen exploded into motion, slightly faster than before (600), with a left uppercut straight under Fuuko's rib cage. This time, her Cutback wouldn't intercede, as Kaen's released Zanpakuto enabled him to push through the passive defenses of her greater spiritual pressure. His eyes were alive, and watching, already expecting that his partner would try another dual exchange, and he planned to be ready for it. Fuuko wanted a brawl, and he fully intended on giving her one. But that didn't mean he wasn't going to be smart about it, nor let his two centuries of hand to hand combat training go to waste. Fuuko-- he was sure, would be more adequate at a rough 'n tumble, back and forth brawl. That was her domain. Kaen wasn't going to take that away from her entirely. But he definitely wasn't about to let the elder Satoshi sibling get too comfortable at her own pace either. One arm or not, he was going to give her a hell of a time.
