The Chuunibyou No-Longer-A-Rogue makes her return!
✚ OPENING ✚
Passwords: Sanctus Teamwork, Kitai's Debt
Discord: Ilaste
Class/Rank: Class 8/Rank 1
Position/Affiliation: Unseated Officer/Onmitsukidō
Type: Brave (++Speed, +Strength)✚ BASIC INFORMATION ✚
Name: Chika Hirabayashi
Real Age/Age of Appearance: 103/21
Birthday: June 21st
Blood Type: O-✚ APPEARANCE ✚
Height: 5'3"/160 cm.
Weight: 103 lbs./46.7 kg.
Eye Color: Golden.
Hair Color: Blonde, with a single off-color streak.
Physical Appearance:
Standing at five-foot-three, and weighing around one-hundred pounds, Chika is certainly a woman of beauty. At a first glance, one of the most noteworthy features about Chika is easily her eyes. Shining bright, her eyes maintain a rather soft golden color, reminiscent to what one might expect from that of a dog of sorts. Matching this same coloration, Chika's hair also has a similar blond color to it, though kept quite tidy and all-in-all relatively organized. Down the middle of her bangs, a singular, off-color streak persists. This streak is unnaturally colored, and tends to change more often than Chika's own mood changes; she likes to dye her hair pretty consistently.
Chika's eyes have an almost vulpine appearance to them, for what that's worth. They're golden in color, and have an almost glossy look to them. Still fairly human for the most part, but traces of fox definitely shine through here! At least, for those that are a little more observant than the standard everyday observer. Her eyes are not the latest, though rest neatly on her face above her button nose.
Atop her head, two fuzzy ears rest perpetually perked up, with tufts of white "fur" protruding from them. Similarly, a fuzzy golden tail protrudes from Chika's lower back, further completing the look for her. For most folks, it's quite difficult to tell if these are real or not; nothing inherently gives away that they might be fake, but the same can be said otherwise. They might move on their own every now and again, but given spiritually-inclined world this could mean very little. Chika claims she's half Beast-clan because of it.
More often than not, Chika's face can be seen taking a smile. The girl enjoys smiling as often as she can! If nothing else, being able to do so helps to keep others happy around her, so she's glad to do what she can to serve as that beacon of positivity. As such, any chance she gets? She's going to be smiling, likely expressing her happiness through hand gestures, et cetera. It's not often that someone will actively see Chika visually upset, as even when she tends to feel this way she'll do what she can to keep it hidden.
As far as outfits are concerned, Chika is almost exclusively found wearing some form of Shihakkusho. Given her immense amount of respect for the Gotei 13, she'd do very little in order to make the group as a whole look bad. When necessary she'll make adjustments to her outfit in order to account for her position in the Onmitsukidō; face covers, a longer and more tight-fitting uniform, things like that. Ultimately a large number of changes aren't necessary during these situations, but you never know.
The only exception to this is while in a Gigai of some kind; Chika is still very likely to be wearing something relatively simple all things considered, but also formal at the same time; a yukata almost always follows in suit. Other than that, her outfits don't really change all that much. Resting by her side at all times, Chika's twin Zanpakutō remain likely sealed, and tucked neatly toward her waist. Both remain prominently displayed where necessary, as she's made sure they can be brandished at a moment's notice.✚ PERSONALITY ✚
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Likes:
✚ Soul Society - It should come to no surprise that Chika is a very avid fan of Soul Society, and the way that the Gotei 13 is set up. Given she was willing to to criminal lengths just to support the faction despite her own shortcomings should show this, if it doesn't already display her rash nature.
✚ Talking About Herself - Chika absolutely adores talking about herself. Not quite in a narcissistic way where she feels she's better than other folks, but more so out of enjoyment for her own story, and the efforts she's put in to get her to where she is now. The only thing she refuses to share about herself is regarding her past few years in Seireitei, living her life as a criminal.
✚ The Human World - Gas Station Slushies.
✚ Training - Chika is one of those Shinigami that very much enjoys combat. It should come to no surprise that the girl spends a lot of her free time in the Squad 10 and Squad 11 barracks, training it up with other officers around her capabilities (and occasionally outside!) when she's got the opportunity to do so. Bettering herself is the name of the game here.
✚ Warm Weather - Chika absolutely adores warm weather. If it weren't for the time she spends training, there's nothing she'd love more than to just sprawl out and relax, basking in the sun when she's got the opportunity. That said though, she isn't going to neglect her Squad duties for either of these.
✚ Reading - One way that the girl does enjoy spending her time is through reading. While not exactly the most avid of readers, Chika does enjoy books a good bit! She's especially a fan of non-fiction, as she's constantly looking to learn quite a number of different things where she can! Fiction is also great, but not something she can read consistently.
✚ Her New Squad - Having come from the Fifth Squad before returning to Soul Society, Chika has fallen in love with her new position, and those in the same Squad as her. Especially given the fact that is familiar with a number of the new Onmitsukidō individuals due to her reentry into the Academy! Makes things just that much easier!
✚ Cooking - A new hobby that Chika has picked up since her return to Seireitei, the girl has grown a good bit fond of making food for herself and for others. She's got no problem taking requests where able, especially seeing as one of her Zanpakutō help to aid in her ability to prepare food what with the ability to grab most any plant that could be useful to her.
✚ Her Zanpakutō - On a similar note, Chika is incredibly fond of the fact that she now wields not one, but two Zanpakutō. It's practically a dream come true for the girl, even if she was originally subject to some rather awful things while in Las Noches that led her to develop these two. It wasn't all bad, thankfully!
✚ Kidō - This shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone that knew the girl previously. She's nothing short of grateful to have the ability to utilize Kidō now, and will do what she can to make that fact known! It's something she's always wanted to be able to do, and now her encyclopedic knowledge of the spells has finally paid off!
Dislikes:
✚ Lazy Individuals - It should come as no surprise that the hyper-active Chika isn't a fan of folks that lounge around and do nothing all day. She's not the type to make a big stink over resting time, but at the same time too much rest isn't a good thing either! If she can, she'd like to help these folks get a bit more active.
✚ Nosy Individuals - Contrary to popular belief, Chika doesn't like individuals that tend to struggle with minding their own business. Given she's got one big secret to herself, she doesn't like it when people tend to invade her headspace and try to get more information than she's otherwise comfortable with sharing.
✚ Alcohol - Chika very much despises everything about the stuff. The smell, the taste, the effect it has on people... This stuff is supremely bad news. She's the type to avoid it like the plague.
✚ Mathematics - Chika hates doing math. Numbers of any kind makes the girl's head hurt quite a bit, and she'd be better off avoiding them or leaving them to someone else to deal with.
✚ Arcadus - Something that should not come as a surprise. If she could, she'd tear into this Arrancar with everything she's capable of, but unfortunately that's not a realistic option at the moment. Some day down the line, though? You'd better believe she'll be storming through Las Noches in order to find the man.
✚ Working Out - A bit of a weird one for the girl. Since she'd been able to pick up Kidō, Chika made a rather bad habit out of neglecting her physical capabilities. As such, her agility is no longer what it used to be. Though she's picked up a number of spells to help accommodate this fact, it doesn't fully replace what had happened.
✚ Hollows - Given what she's been through, Hollows tend to leave Chika with a level of detest. This is purely because of the fact that she'd been forced to eat quite a number of them. While she won't stop to do her job relating to these things, that isn't to say she enjoys being around them. She'll avoid doing so when she can.
✚ Being Alone - She'd dealt with it enough with Arcadus. The more she can go without being on her own, the better off she'll be. While not exactly the most becoming trait of a member of the Onmitsukidō, it's one that she's got to deal with if nothing else. Perhaps she'll grow out of it in time?
✚ Being Tired - Chika likes to be active; she likes doing what she can in order to keep herself busy. One thing she doesn't enjoy, consequentially, is feeling tired. Given it leaves her without the ability to do much anything until she rests, she doesn't enjoy the feeling of it. Sleep is for the weak, and Chika does not consider herself weak!
✚ The Dark - She hates it. Chika absolutely detests being in the dark. She can't quite explain it, but she's had quite enough of it, and will do what she can to avoid it where possible. The girl will almost always have some form of reiatsu light where she can if she's going out in the dark, as to keep herself out of it.
Habits:
✚ Chuunibyou - Chika's got a bad case of eighth grader syndrome. She's generally a very over-the-top, very flashy individual that tends to view herself as a main character of sorts, standing different from the rest. A good example of this is her ears and tail; nobody knows if she's half Beast-clan or not, and she's not going to be sharing that any time soon!
✚ Laughs - Similar to the habit above, Chika has some really standout laughs that she tends to make. It's not too hard to spot when these aren't authentic laughs, as she'll make no effort to hide them. Think laughs similar to your average cliché supervillain and you've got the right idea.
✚ Talking - Chika tends to talk. A lot. Like, non-stop. If she's got a moment to rant about something, she's likely going to take that opportunity to do so. The girl just never stops unless she's sleeping.
✚ Eating - Given how often she's constantly in the barracks training her ass off, Chika never really stops eating. First and foremost, she's got quite the desire to keep herself active, and as such she needs the energy to keep her body going. Oh, and the parasitic weapon thing.
✚ Huffing and Puffing - Chika doesn't like to be told "no". She's very much a child in that regard, and will generally make a small fuss when that happens. She's not the type to go above and beyond with that, out of a desire to not make a fool of herself, but you get the idea.
Flaws:
✚ Senselessly Devoted - Chika's done quite a bit that she can't take back in order to make sure she's gotten into the Gotei 13. Such should be obvious at this point that she's got quite the strong sense of admiration toward those there; so much so, that she's willing to take most any orders without complaint.
✚ Complaints - Chika tends to complain quite a bit about things she doesn't like. While she's not the type to just be rude about something, she's not exactly going to hide her thoughts, either. She'll make them fairly known, but might just sugarcoat things to stop others from being hurt.
✚ Self-Reliant - Chika tends to prefer to do things on her own when presented with the opportunity for such. She's not the type to go out of her way to ask for help most of the time, and such behaviors very much show with her actions. Even if she knows she might need it, Chika isn't the type to ask for help if she isn't required to.
✚ Slow to Trust - Linking in with the above flaw, Chika is very slow to trust others. Given she's got a rather large secret she's meant to keep, she's very hesitant to let herself get close to folks. Even if she does, that's not something she's going to willingly share with people.
✚ Jumpy - Something that Chika has picked up while in Las Noches is that she can be rather jumpy when it comes to things that surprise her. She doesn't do well with scares like that, and will almost always scream or shout because of it. It's difficult for someone to not be able to scare her if they put their mind to it.
Fears:
✚ Her Secrets Slipping - Chika's biggest fear would be the possibility of the fact that she had a Bakkōtō becoming public knowledge. Nothing quite scares the girl more than that possibility, given that would mean that either she's forced to leave Soul Society, or she's simply going to be put up for execution. In truth, she's not quite sure which one scares her more, and frankly both are a demise that she doesn't want to meet. She'd do anything to keep that a secret.
✚ The Dark - Linking in with a previous idea, Chika vehemently fears the dark. It's one thing that she tends to hate quite a bit, especially after having dealt with being in Hueco Mundo for so long. Given the perpetual night, it left quite a sour taste in her mouth; one she wishes that she could just forget.
✚ Arcadus - This shouldn't surprise anyone, especially given everything that Chika had been put through relatively recently. While she absolutely despises the man, he is also one of her greatest fears. Never again does she want to see this man if it isn't to purify his soul in the name of the Soul King.
✚ Being Powerless - Linking in with the aforementioned fear, nothing hurt Chika more than her powerlessness that she experienced during her fight with Arcadus. Nothing hurt the girl more than the feeling of being unable to do much of anything to save those around her, and even saving herself. Never again does she want to experience that agony.
✚ Her Inner Hollow - Rengoku no Wa. A being that took up residency inside of Chika's soul, after the tremendous numbers of Hollows that she'd been forced to consume. A woman that haunts her thoughts, and a woman that bares a striking resemblance to how Arcadus behaves. She never knows what this woman is thinking, and such deeply unsettles her.
Goals:
✚ Fight for the Future - Inversely, Chika's biggest goal is to improve the future as a whole. Whatever that may mean is up to those interpreting it. For her? Chika would love to have the Soul Society be more open to those they accept into their ranks, including but not limited to those tainted by Hell Reiatsu with the Nakabakki, and those with the essence of a Hollow coursing through them with the Vizards. All-in-all, she'd like to focus toward reform and make the organization a better place overall.
✚ To Purify Rengoku no Wa - Getting rid of her inner hollow is another big goal of the girl's. While she doesn't exactly want to wipe the woman out given her existence is still valued, Chika doesn't want to let the girl run rampant in her own soul if she can help it. Rengoku no Wa is someone that she seeks to get along with, even if her Inner Hollow isn't exactly one to agree with the idea.
✚ To Purify Arcadus - Mostly out of spite. Chika acknowledges the fact that the Soul Cycle isn't exactly something that's easy to manipulate, but at the same time, she'd like to do what she can to take the Espada down a number of notches, and get payback for what had been done in the past. She's definitely got a desire for revenge here.
✚ To Advance in Rank - Another goal of Chika's that makes sense! If possible, she'd like to advance in the Onmitsukidō in order to get a better feel for stealth capabilities. Even if she's not the stealthiest type anymore, she still wants to stick by her friends where she can, and given most of them went into this Squad? Who was she was to say no?
✚ Staying in Soul Society - Given her situation, and previously mentioned goal, Chika wants nothing more than to be able to stay within Soul Society. The moment she's put in a situation to fight for control over her Inner Hollow, she's going to do what she can in order to stay hidden during the whole process. If nothing else, she'd like to keep her presence in Seireitei as a Vizard a secret.
Overall Personality:
Chika as a person is a very bubbly soul. She's the type of person to constantly be bouncing around with a plethora of energy, and not really be sure what to do with it. It's almost as though she's constantly bouncing off the walls, always looking for something to do; whether that means training with other officers, or focusing toward her Squad duties, it doesn't matter to her. She very much likes to remain active at all times if she can!
One key note about the girl's personality is that she's a bit eccentric, all thing considered. She's very much the type of person to go over the top when talking to folks, almost as to try to paint herself as the main character of a story without being so overbearing that she comes off as narcissistic about it. Instead, she's just extremely extroverted, and will go out of her way to make acquaintances with practically everybody she meets. She's more than willing to give every person she encounters the benefit of the doubt before judging them.
As one can expect from someone of Chika's situation, she does have a bit of a 'darker streak' to her. Whether influenced due to her experiences, or because of the hollow currently residing within her soul, Chika can tend to get a little aggressive in certain situations. She's not exactly the type to sugarcoat how she feels about heavier subjects, and will tend to get rather serious when necessary in order to get her points across. For those that know her minimally, this might seem to be a bit of a 180, but that's not necessarily the case.
When it comes to getting on the girl's good side, this is not a very difficult thing to do. First and foremost, simply be nice to her. Those that are willing to put up with her antics are those that she's going to find herself not only getting along with, but actively spending more time with out of virtue of wanting to treat those well that treat her well. When it comes to getting on her bad side, simply a stray insult is more than enough to leave her with quite the grudge, assuming someone isn't willing to apologize.
Discussing Chika's bad side, while it can be certainly difficult to end up here, it's by no means impossible. For one, a certain Espada holds a position here quite well. Such would require genuine, abhorrent acts of evil for Chika to consistently dislike someone. Blasting civilian areas with destructive attacks, killing for the sake of killing, and other terrible things like that.
When it comes to things like pet peeves, Chika doesn't have a whole lot. She knows that some people can be a bit abrasive about her constant use of Kidō (looking at you, Squad Eleven), but ultimately it's not something that bothers her a whole lot. Suffice to say, the girl doesn't find herself bothered by a whole lot, unless someone actively seeks to get underneath her skin in some regard.
As many folks that have interacted with her in the past know, Chika has a bit of a habit to be a bit Chuunibyou. She's got delusions of grandeur, and tends to be quite excessive with those more often than not. Those that play into her over-the-top nature are those she tends to enjoy being around, whereas those that shut her down because of it are quick to ear her ire.✚ COMBAT ✚
Fighting Style:
As one might expect, Chika tends to have two distinct different fighting styles. One that focuses on a close engagement, and another that focuses toward subterfuge and assassination. She tends to vary significantly depending on what the circumstances behind her combat are, ranging from utilizing her Strength first and foremost in order to take someone apart, or focusing on the usage of her Speed in order to get in quick, kill, and get out.
Beginning with the girl's non-release options, a lot of what Chika has at her disposal is a slew of Hōhō and Hakuda to keep her martial proficiency at their absolute peak. She has a number of one-off Kido in order to help balance out her combative capabilities where necessary, given her ability to cast them now, but ultimately utilizes martial-enhancing techniques in order to fight.
While at an advantage in combat, Chika isn't exactly likely to release. Instead, she'll focus on either hand-to-hand or weapon-based combat, doing what she can in order to make the most of her martial arts capabilities. Given the girl's exemplary mastery over both Hakuda and Hōhō, these two utilizations together in combat tend to be quite reliable, allowing the girl to maintain an assault.
While at a disadvantage, Chika may just be pressed into releasing one or both of her Shikai. While it's unlikely that she'll focus toward utilizing Sasori Tanken if she's found herself in a direct confrontation, that could very much be a possibility if the circumstance serves that situation. Instead, Akaki Maken is much more likely to make an appearance.
Speaking of Akaki Maken, it is a Zanpakutō that focuses heavily on direct assault, and loud entry where necessary. Given the girl's personality, Akaki Maken is the Zanpakutō that Chika claims to be her "primary weapon". It's the one she'll utilize in spars with others, and the weapon that she tends to rely on because of its explosive capabilities.
On the chance that more subterfuge is necessary in the situation, Sasori Tanken will reveal itself. Generally speaking, this isn't a Zanpakutō that Chika will release near her friends and/or allies, and tends to reserve this weapon for Onmitsukidō-related attacks and assassination attempts where necessary. If Sasori Tanken is to be used, chances are Chika will utilize the Zanpakutō rather early on.
Suishin Bakudan serves as a technique that lets Chika strike fast and strike powerfully. It's because of this technique that Chika's speed really shows itself in a rather tremendous fashion, allowing the girl to become quite potent in close range. If a tactical idea, Chika has no problem throwing her blade toward someone in order to rocket it through their defenses in an explosive fashion. Quite the strong kill move.
Rensa Han'nō is Akaki Maken's main "kill move", allowing her to trigger a cascading barrage across her opponents if she's able to successfully strike them. Once this technique gets rolling, its ability is generally somewhat easy to figure out; especially if she looks to utilize the technique more than once during a fight. Naturally, such isn't exactly the greatest of options.
Moving onto Sasori Tanken's techniques, Shōki is quite a powerful technique, allowing Chika to set up "danger zones" across the battlefield, while simultaneously poisoning those that decide to enter them. This technique can be utilized to set up a retreat, preventing a foe from retreating, or just focusing on keeping someone in the darkness for as long as she can.
Dokubari is the last of Sasori Tanken's techniques, and is quite the insidious technique. Given the fact that it can be quite difficult for others to feel whether or not they've been stabbed by the needles Chika can throw, it can be difficult to tell that a poison is coursing through their veins until it's too late. More often than not, this could very easily lead to someone's demise.
Moving onto Chika's Bankai, Akutō no Satsui is quite potent in its ability to serve as either a combination of both Zanpakutō, or due to its ability to serve as a standalone variant of either stage of release, providing powerful combative pressure on the frontline, or instead acting as an assassin's best friend. The ability to both detonate and envenom her foes leaves quite a bit of versatility for her to enjoy.
Tsukikage Shōgeki serves as the first of Chika's Bankai techniques, and is also her most directly-offensive technique through her entire kit. This technique is her big defense-breaker, allowing her to slash through them with ease, at the cost of giving up her stealth capabilities. Given the girl is Onmitsukidō, such is easily the largest benefit for the girl.
On the other hand, Kageki Kansen is Chika's main stealth technique within her release. This works to immediately proliferate her poison's reach within someone's body, causing its killing potential to explode outward if she can land another hit on someone. This technique is incredibly potent in the right scenarios, but does require quite a bit of set-up in order to successfully pull off.
Inner World Appearance: Akutō no Satsui
Appearing of a dojo of sorts, Chika's inner world is rather simplistic in nature. Upon initial entry, it takes the shape of a rather simplistic looking hall where one might look to improve their swordsmanship. In truth, this isn't wrong; especially during meditative periods, Chika enjoys inhabiting her inner world to do exactly that. Outside is perpetually sunny, though the doors remain permanently shut and seemingly indestructible.
The main building houses a seemingly infinite number of floors, leaving one to climb for quite some time. More realistically, there are around a thousand floors total, with a rather strange temporal anomaly occurring the higher you go up; as one ascends the floors of Akutō no Satsui, the light outside can be seen slowly fading into night; something that seems dependent on floors, as opposed to the time it takes to do so. The roof of the tower is accessible, and with it comes with a perpetual night. Akaki Maken & Sasori Tanken tend to reside on the ground floor, while Nikuya holds dominion over the top of the tower.
Shikai Names: 紅き魔剣 - Akaki Maken (lit. 'Crimson Demon Sword') & サソリ剣 - Sasori Tanken (lit. 'Scorpion Dagger')
Bankai Name: 悪党の殺意 - Akutō no Satsui (lit. 'Scoundrel's Killing Edge'){Akaki Maken}
Zanpakutō Appearance:
Akaki Maken in its sealed state appears as one would expect from a standard Uchigatana. Nothing all that special about the weapon, sheathed at Chika's side. It's wrapped in red and black fabric around the weapon's grip, and it's blade takes on a rather standardized appearance. Wrapped around the pommel is a ribbon, and the sword's guard is a fairly standard line-shape, instead of the normal circle shapes.
While released, Akaki Maken is more of the same, though the weapon is a lot larger. More akin to a broadsword than a katana at that point, the blade is notably an inch and a half wide, and close to six or so inches thick. It serves as a phenomenal defensive tool alongside its offense. While one would expect a weapon of that size to be wielded with two hands, Chika instead tends to wield it with a singular when she needs to; specially while wielding Sasori Tanken alongside it.
Zanpakutō Spirit Appearance:
Akaki Maken stands around five feet and nine inches tall, and weighs in around on hundred and twenty pounds of mostly muscle. Her frame is somewhat petite all things considered, covered by what looks to be a set of stylized Miko robes. Her hair remains perpetually kept up in a ponytail, left to flow by her knees all the same. In her hair, a singular flower is pinned on the left side.
Her sleeves extend near to the ground, stylized and coated in a black, pink, and white pattern mimicking that of a roaring fire. In place of conventional shoes, Akaki Maken wears a pair of boots, as to aid in her fighting capabilities. Last thing someone of her stature would want is to be held back in a situation like that. The girl seems to always wear a smile on her face, no matter the circumstance. Her Zanpakutō remains in her hand or around her, as opposed to on her hip.{Image Reference}
Zanpakutō Spirit Personality:
Akaki Maken tends to be a rather pure soul, not quite as bubbly as Chika but certainly an excitable being at times. She's a battle-ready spirit, constantly looking for a spar, or some kind of fight to keep her on her toes where she can. Chika tends to rub off on her and vice versa; she's not quite as Chunni as Chika is, but Akiken, as she's affectionately nicknamed, is quite easily excitable.
She tends to enjoy Sasori Tanken's company where it's there, as she's willing to indulge Akiken in fights where she asks for them. All-in-all, Akiken tends to be a rather good-spirited individual, that relatively anyone can get along with if the situation permits it. More often than not, she can be found in Chika's inner world running through sword routines in order to keep brushed up on such forms.{Sasori Tanken}
Zanpakutō Appearance:
Much like Akaki Maken, Sasori Tanken is a rather simplistic weapon, taking shape as a tantō wrapped in blue and purple, similar to Sasori Tanken's outfit. The weapon's pommel features a small pinprick of a needle, as mentioned in the weapon's Overall Ability. The weapon's blade is standard in appearance, and tends to exacerbate the rather simplistic nature of the weapon as a whole.
In Shikai, this remains relatively the same, having Sasori Tanken take hold as the same standard tantō, but with a few changes. The pinprick on the bottom of the pommel remains, as it has mechanical reason to exist. The weapon's blade takes on a black coloration to it, with a small hole toward the tip of the blade; from this hole, a seemingly infinite supply of Sasori Tanken's toxin is seen dripping from the weapon.
Zanpakutō Spirit Appearance:
Taking on a more shinobi-esque appearance to her, Sasori Tanken stands at about five foot six, and weighs no more than one-hundred and five pounds. Her outfit is mostly purple in color, looking not unlike that of what one would expect from a yukata top, before transitioning into a short pair of pants and what appear to be stockings with a diamond-esque pattern on them. She wears a pair of sandals on her feet, though they don't hinder a lot of movement.
Her hair is silvered in color, stretching down past her knees, and she wears a large, black tattered cloak which helps to conceal the girl's Zanpakutō and a slew of poison vials strapped to her chest and her cloak. The girl easily holds around fifty or so, cementing her position as a deadly combatant the moment her poisons get to work inside someone's body.{Image Reference}
Zanpakutō Spirit Personality:
A quiet and reserved individual, Sasoken, as she's been affectionately nicknamed, tends to keep to herself when she can. More often than not, she tends to find herself working to refine her poisons, keeping to herself where possible in order to constantly keep on her "A-Game". She's not the type for idle conversation, but is always willing to fight in order to test out her capabilities.
As mentioned, Sasoken tends to enjoy the time she gets to spend with Akiken. The two do get along rather well, and Sasoken is more than willing to indulge her soul roommate in sparring when the latter asks for it. All-in-all, the two tend to keep hostilities of any kind to a relative minimum; instead, the two share a bond over their distaste of the woman that lives at the top of the tower; Nikuya.
Inner Hollow Name: 肉屋 - Nikuya (lit. 'Butcher'){Nikuya}
Inner Hollow Appearance:
Taking place as one would expect from an inner hollow, Nikuya appears as a woman that's been made a victim of war. Wearing what looks to be samurai armor, though notably destroyed in certain places (namely the robes down by her legs, her upper shoulder, and a large number of where she'd otherwise be wearing plates), the girl looks to be almost tattered.
The two most notable things about the girl would be her feet - as she wears no shoes, only tattered cloth around her ankles and halfway up her calf - and the fact that she's missing her left arm. On her right arm, Nikuya wears a gauntlet. In that same hand, she wields a weapon not unlike that of a large cleaver, further accentuating the girl's warlike prowess. Her hair is white in color, reaching down to about her knees.{Image Reference}
Inner Hollow Personality:
Nikuya is easily described as "dangerously charismatic". The girl tends to have a surprising way with words, speaking almost exclusively in larger words, and seeming to know exactly how to talk to someone. Almost as though she were a politician in a past life, Nikuya tends to know how to stay on peoples' good sides, and also how to get under their skin quite a bit.
On the other hand, Nikuya also has quite a violent streak to her. As evidenced quite easily by the rather massive cleaver that she wields, Nikuya has no problem absolutely massacring anyone and anything that she simply feels like. Truly a monster in samurai's clothing, Nikuya is quite the force to be reckoned with. The girl seems to be blessed with an almost unnatural calm to her, never letting her true feelings or intentions through.
Mask Description:
Chika's Hollow Mask is not unlike that one would expect. Taking appearance as a standard-ish hollow mask, Chika's remains flat in shape, with the normal sharpened maw that most hollow masks tend to offer. The main difference between her mask and others however, is that the maw of hers remains in a smile, almost 'stitched' to the mask itself. from the bridge of the nose and down, this mask sports a blood-red coloration to it, as though splashed onto the face after cleaving into a person not long before it was donned.
Zanpakutō Callouts: "Detonate, Akaki Maken!" / "Blacken their blood, Sasori Tanken!" / "Bankai, Akutō no Satsui!"
Akaki Maken Overall Ability:
Serving as Chika's 'guise' Zanpakutō, Akaki Maken specializes in direct, frontline combat, allowing her to keep up with the rank-and-file Shinigami in terms of a fight. Akaki Maken is a rather unique Zanpakutō, with an ability revolving around explosions. These explosions function similarly to shockwaves, being an exertion of physical force from Chika's Zanpakutō, but do cost 25 reiatsu each time they're triggered instead of the otherwise costless shockwaves. By spending 50 reiatsu, Chika can create a 'super-explosion', capable of blowing off fingers and appendages regardless of Strength. This 'super-explosion' can only be used on the weapon's grip, however, and only serves its purpose should she be disarmed.
As she desires, Chika is capable of producing these explosions on any part of her Zanpakutō by paying the reiatsu cost. These explosions will occur at Chika's Strength, and detonate within a two-foot diameter of the desired point. Given these are explosions of force, these naturally bypass defensive capabilities, and transfer the damage caused to a target internally, much like normal shockwaves do. As one can expect, Chika is immune to the damage caused by her own explosions. While not enough to propel a person from the force of these blasts on their own, these explosions are certainly strong enough to move the sword, allowing it to almost 'dance' if she keeps creating these explosions.
Sasori Tanken Overall Ability:
Being the girl's primary Zanpakutō, Sasori Tanken is exactly the type of weapon that befits the Onmitsukidō. Upon release of her tantō, Sasori Tanken grants Chika a weapon designed to poison those she fights with excruciating efficacy. From the moment of its release, Sasori Tanken begins to produce a toxin on its blade, starting rather minute in application, and adapting as necessary in order to debilitate Chika's foes as necessary. Being a weapon designed to kill silently and ruthlessly, releasing such a Zanpakutō inverts Chika's Light Aura and Dark Aura, and allows her to utilize her Stealth as though she hadn't released.
Striking an opponent with Sasori Tanken will inject that individual with its toxin, assuming the strike breaks skin. Assuming someone is afflicted with this weapon's toxin, they'll be put into a rather precarious situation, taking a total of ten posts before they suffer from sudden cardiac arrest. Each subsequent strike on a target after that point will treat a post as having passed. Naturally, there are ways to help prevent this fate from happening. For one, if Chika loses consciousness or is slain, her release will automatically end. Second, those subject to the toxin are able to give up portions of their capabilities in order to stave off this poison, allowing it to attack other systems of the body first before stopping at the heart.
When a post would normally cause this poison to 'tick', infected individuals can instead give up 250 Reiatsu, or 25 post-type SP in order to prevent that post from passing. Per pre-established limits, the most that someone can spend themselves down to is 25% of each stat, post-type. Each Rank in Poison Resist someone has innately (not granted from outside effects) will reduce this amount by 50 Reiatsu, and 5 post-type SP. Those that are granted Poison Resist from an outside effect will instead Reduce this total per every other Rank they possess, rounded down. Naturally this makes it exceedingly more difficult for this poison to circulate through the body with higher Ranks in Poison Resist, but by no means impossible for it to take someone out. Naturally, this Reiatsu expenditure will bypass effects similar to an Arrancar's or Vizard's 'infinite reiatsu' duration. If Reiatsu is utilized to slow this toxin, the cost will increase by 100 for each post it is utilized. This resets when the poison progresses for a post with no cost, or when the SP cost is paid. NPCs, summons, constructs, and other similar beings do not have the luxury of spending Reiatsu or SP; they will simply die. This includes Fragments from the Fractured type.
Being purely physical in nature, Sasori Tanken's poison scales off of Chika's Strength for clashing purposes. Within the pommel of her Zanpakutō, Sasori Tanken possesses an antidote for this poison. By utilizing this antidote by pressing the pommel against a target, they can be injected with it, and thus cleared of the Zanpakutō's deadly effects. This antidote only works on individuals with less unmodified Strength than that of the clashing toxin; individuals that are too durable and possess a natural resilience to physical force will break down this antidote before it gets the chance to circulate through the body. Chika herself is inherently immune to her own toxin. Other cleansing effects will require a superior Healing Expertise to Chika's Offensive Stat, and possess an equal or greater Class. Non-technique healing like High-Speed Regeneration or the toxin filtering from Healing Expertise will grant two Ranks in Poison Resist; this is treated as an outside effect.
Akutō no Satsui Overall Ability:
Combining both the themes of Chika's Zanpakutō, Akutō no Satsui serves as a multipurpose Bankai, with exceptional use in either a direct conflict, or a covert operation. Taking hold as a katana with a partially-retractable blade, Akutō no Satsui reveals Chika's killing potential in her ability to utilize the lightweight weapon in such a way that compliments either of her fighting styles. This blade can retract and fire back out at 1,600 Speed, allowing for rather unique movements and combative capabilities.
As one can expect, Akutō no Satsui amplifies both of Chika's releases upon their combination, creating a deadly combination of frontline combatant and assassin. Beginning with Akaki Maken's Overall, the size of these explosions are three-times larger, and the 'super-explosion' can be utilized with attacks, instead of just being a tool to prevent disarmament. If she desires, these explosions can also be used to transmit Sasori Tanken's poison to those affected, forcing this toxin to sink into the pores of those nearby at extreme speeds. By doubling the Reiatsu cost of her basic explosions, Chika can multiply the size of these explosions by a magnitude of three.
Sasori Tanken's capabilities are also increased during this stage of release, granting two simple but powerful effects on those that look to resist the poison. By expending 50 Reiatsu, Chika can alter the reductions to a target's post-type SP in a way that she sees fit. Naturally, this won't have any effect should they refrain from taking a reduction to their post-type SP, but could potentially be quite useful against those that value their reiatsu. Additionally, Poison Resist will only take someone so far with resisting this effect; Poison Resist Ranks from those afflicted with Sasori Tanken's poison will be reduced by two. This only applies to resisting this poison's effects, and not for any other toxins or effects that rely on Poison Resist; those will be treated as normal. When this drop occurs, additional Reiatsu and/or SP will be lost in order to accommodate for this change.{推進爆弾 - Suishin Bakudan (lit. 'Propulsion Bomb')}
Technique Name: 推進爆弾 - Suishin Bakudan (lit. 'Propulsion Bomb')
Release Stage: Shikai / Bankai | Akaki Maken.
Cost: 50 Reiatsu.
Description:
Utilizing Akaki Maken's explosive force in a rather unique way, Chika is capable of causing these explosions to occur in order to fire her blade off at tremendous speeds. While holding onto her blade to swing, stab, or otherwise attack with her Akaki Maken, Chika can create an explosion on her sword in a direction that would aim to propel her attack forward, letting her strike at twice her Speed for the purpose of that one attack. Similarly, she's capable of throwing her sword at the same Speed, assuming she utilizes an explosion to send the sword rocketing forward. This technique is treated as a Stepping Technique. In Bankai, Suishin Bakudan's lethality is amplified, utilizing thrice Chika's Speed instead for these attacks, and these explosions can be made silent.
Drawbacks:
Suishin Bakudan counts against Chika's total Stepping Techniques in a post. While this technique doesn't come with the same stamina problems that Stepping Techniques usually have due to this speed being assisted, it can cause serious arm strain if used more than once per post. Throwing her sword isn't always the smartest move, as she'll need to cause explosions from her sword in order to propel it back to her, thus costing more reiatsu to do.{連鎖反応 - Rensa Han'nō (lit. 'Chain Reaction')}
Technique Name: 連鎖反応 - Rensa Han'nō (lit. 'Chain Reaction')
Release Stage: Shikai / Bankai | Akaki Maken.
Cost: 150 Reiatsu.
Description:
Rensa Han'nō is a rather insidious technique within Akaki Maken's arsenal, Rensa Han'nō begins as an always-active technique upon release. What this technique does is mark everything that's struck from the weapon's blade. Whether it's people, objects, structures, and anything in-between, Rensa Han'nō will leave behind a small mark on its surface similar to that of an "X". Upon paying the reiatsu cost, each of these explosions will simultaneously detonate in a chain reaction, living up to the namesake of this technique. This technique's lethality shines when placing multiple marks upon an individual to tear them apart in a flashy display of bombs.
Drawbacks:
Rensa Han'nō requires Chika land multiple hits, which in turn takes quite a bit of set-up. Given the nature of this technique, it's an ability that's likely to only occur once before someone realizes what's going on. Marks will not be left if Chika causes an explosion per her Overall Ability on a strike, leaving her to require sacrificing a direct offense in order to potentially set this technique up. In Bankai, this drawback is removed, allowing her to mark targets that are subject to her explosions.{瘴気 - Shōki (lit. 'Miasma')}
Technique Name: 瘴気 - Shōki (lit. 'Miasma')
Release Stage: Shikai / Bankai | Sasori Tanken.
Cost: 75 Reiatsu.
Description:
Throwing a marble-sized smoke bomb produced from the pommel of her Zanpakutō, Shōki allows Chika to create a cloud of smoke from Sasori Tanken's poison. This smokescreen obscures vision, requiring a Senses stat of 300 in order to see through it or out of it. This cloud begins at a 5-foot radius, and expands by 5 feet in all directions each post, before eventually fading after five total posts. This technique shines in its ability to forcibly inflict those in its vicinity with Sasori Tanken's poison, treating an additional post to pass for those that remain within its exposure, increased by one for each consecutive post someone remains within its area (Post One is one additional 'tick', Post Two is two additional 'ticks', Post Three is three additional 'ticks', etc.). Naturally, Chika is immune to the effects of her own Smokescreen. In Bankai, both the size and duration of this technique is doubled.
Drawbacks:
While certainly a strong technique, Shōki is unfortunately indiscriminate of those it affects. Allies that get caught in this smokescreen will still be subject to its effects, whether Sasori Tanken's poison or the obfuscation effect. Only three smokescreens can be active at a time; this is increased to five in Bankai. Smokescreen effects stack with one another. Simply leaving the smokescreen is quite easy to do.{毒針 - Dokubari (lit. 'Poison Needle')}
Technique Name: 毒針 - Dokubari (lit. 'Poison Needle')
Release Stage: Shikai / Bankai | Sasori Tanken.
Cost: 25 Reiatsu.
Description:
A stealthy attack, Dokubari is a technique that allows Chika to produce and throw a toxic needle. While not entirely potent, using only a tenth of Chika's Strength to determine the damage they deal (but clashing against defenses utilizing 150% of Chika's Strength), but more than making up for it in their ability to slip under the radar. Those with two or more Ranks in Pain Tolerance, Strength of Will, or similar Skills will not realize they've been struck, as the pinprick doesn't even register. These needles will apply Sasori Tanken's poison. Given these needles are incredibly lightweight and easy to throw, they function off of Chika's Speed to determine the Speed in which they fly. In Bankai, this is reduced to one or more Rank in the requisite Skills, and allows for the throwing of three needles in one use of the technique.
Drawbacks:
This technique only has effect against those that have the requisite Skills. Can only be utilized once per post.{月影衝撃 - Tsukikage Shōgeki (lit. 'Moonlight Impact')}
Technique Name: 月影衝撃 - Tsukikage Shōgeki (lit. 'Moonlight Impact')
Release Stage: Bankai | Akutō no Satsui.
Cost: 50 Reiatsu/post.
Description:
Serving as Akaki Maken's capstone ability, Tsukikage Shōgeki takes the ability to create localized explosions and simply does not turn it off. Triggering upwards of ten cascading blasts each second (or mechanically, no more than four instances of damage per swing), Tsukikage Shōgeki provides Chika with a tremendous explosive force while active. Not only does this force provide the girl with tremendous cutting potential, given these explosions continually occur, but also helps deal twice the normal damage against items, defenses, release weapons, and durability.
Drawbacks:
Given the cascading amount of explosions, it can become quite difficult for Chika to hide while this is active, jeopardizing her entire kit in the process. Damage from this technique can occur no more than four times per swing of her sword, limiting the technique's explosive potential. While active, Akutō no Satsui's explosions cannot apply Sasori Tanken's toxin.{過激感染 - Kageki Kansen (lit. 'Extreme Infection')}
Technique Name: 過激感染 - Kageki Kansen (lit. 'Extreme Infection')
Release Stage: Bankai | Akutō no Satsui.
Cost: 50 Reiatsu.
Description:
Serving as Sasori Tanken's capstone ability, Kageki Kansen aims to cause rapid proliferation in Sasori Tanken's toxin currently within someone's body. By spiking the next dose of Sasori Tanken's poison with an anti-immune substance, Kageki Kansen will immediately double the number of posts that have passed from Sasori Tanken's poison in someone's body upon being struck from the effects of the toxin. Such is a painful process, leaving someone without 3 Ranks in Pain Tolerance unable to fight for a few moments while they double over from the feeling of their body being torn apart from the inside out.
Drawbacks:
This technique requires either a large amount of time to pass during a fight, or requires Chika to land an extreme number of hits in order to get full use from this technique. Given this technique similarly requires Chika to land a strike in order to activate, it's not self-sustaining. If a successful strike is not landed within three posts of Kageki Kansen's activation, it will need to be refreshed.

History:{CHAPTER Ⅰ}
Though her origin a mystery, records state a miss Chika Hirabayashi first making herself known around ten to fifteen years ago. Starting off as nothing more than a petty thief in the Rukongai, Chika learned very quickly that in the lesser districts, doing some rather unsavory things had been required in order to simply survive. As such, most of her time had been spent growing up scraping together food where she could, in order to simply live as comfortably as possible. Granted, that isn't the easiest thing to do given the situation, but she managed.
Eventually, however, her luck ran short. After a run-in with some surprisingly kind Shinigami, Chika had a change-of-heart of sorts. instead of spending her time stealing to survive, the girl found herself with a desire to turn her life around. The best way to do this, given her circumstances? Join up with the Gotei 13. Given the girl's noticeable spiritual presence, compared to the rest of the Rukon citizens, her chances of having that opportunity made themselves quite well-known. All that she had to do was get in.
Though, unfortunately for Chika, getting in was the difficult part. For one reason or another, the girl's own body seemed to almost reject the idea of the Asauchi. Unable to even wield one of the weapons due to spiritual backlash, Chika had been put into a rather unfortunate position; either find some kind of alternative like Kidō, or simply abandon her hopes of turning her life around.
Naturally, Chika was not the type of girl to quit that easily. Instead of simply giving up, turning in the towel, and going back to a life of thievery, she began to try her hand with Shinigami spellwork. Though, as fate would have it, it seemed that even such practices were out of the picture; no matter what she tried, what spell she tried to cast, or how she tried to learn them, each and every one either fizzled out, blew up in her face, or simply refused to work. Naturally this filled the girl with a sense of dread, leaving her to have to consider alternatives.
In the meantime, Chika did what she could in order to try to learn Hakuda; a feat that proved not only easy for the girl, but quickly became a field that she excelled in after a short period of time; a natural prodigy, of sorts. Though, this didn't exactly help her predicament. As one can expect, ignoring a problem until it hopefully goes away isn't the most sound of ideas; one that proved rather problematic as she didn't have a way to actually purify Hollows. She knew she needed another answer, and fast.
Enter the Kasumi'Oji. The very first chance she got, after having remembered the family and their underground activities from her time spent in the Rukongai criminal scene, she immediately sought them out to see what could've been done in order to help with her current situation. Thankfully, a solution - albeit, a dangerous and illegal solution - was given to her; take up a Bakkōtō, and serve as a Kasumi'Oji spy of sorts.
Though, while Chika gladly took up the Bakkōtō, she wasn't having any of that spy BS. The moment she got hold of the weapon, she cut ties, changed her name, and completely changed her appearance in order to keep her identity a secret. In turn, she disguised her weapon as to make sure it didn't appear as the illegal one that she could've been very easily tried for, and took the time to finish out the rest of the academy now that she had something to fight with.
After faking her Bakkōtō as an Asauchi, and quickly thereafter graduating the Academy, Chika then sat as a "reserve" of sorts, still waiting to join a Squad until after having gotten a feel for all of her choices, and instead taking the opportunity to learn with each Squad beforehand. Despite the lengths she'd already gone to in order to make things work out, Chika remained a woman ready to take more risks in order to make the world a better place.
After having taken the time to get to know the Squads of the Seireitei, attending a mixer thrown together by Third Squad, Chika had met quite a number of people, and even got to see quite the performance from a member of the Third! Though, one thing made itself apparent during her time at the event, and that was the Squad she had a desire to join; that of the Sixth!
Eventually joining the Squad thereafter, Chika took the opportunity to get to know a number of members within her Squad, growing quite fond of the people around her in a matter of time. Thankfully the Squad seemed to be quite receptive of the girl's antics, so she made a lot of friends relatively quick while there. In due time, everything had been going quite great!
After having joined the Sixth, Chika did what she could to seek out someone that might've been able to train her. Someone that would hopefully help her out in learning just what she could do with her Bakkōtō! Heading to the First Squad barracks to train with the Captain Commander, she'd been pleasantly intercepted by Miranda Frost, the squad's Vice Captain.
Having offered to train her at the time, Chika took up the opportunity as well as she could, and surprisingly enough? She actually managed to hold her own quite well! She fought with all her might during their spar, eventually having the opportunity to meet up with two Captains in the process; a Celes Shindazu and Connor Greaves, getting to know them quite well.
For a time, everything seemed to be going quite well from there! So much so, that after a transfer to the Fifth Division shortly thereafter, Chika eventually took the seat as Vice Captain of that Squad, similarly serving as Acting Captain after the Squad's original one unfortunately lost his life during the Hell Invasion that had happened not long prior. Things seemed to be going quite well for the girl!
After having taken this rank, she even had the opportunity to train a number of newer Shinigami; namely, a Thirteenth Squad member named Date Maharo, whom went with her during a trip into the Human World, and Akira Hinosai, another Shinigami that she was able to impart some of her academic knowledge of Kidō to. Being able to slowly make a name for herself, Chika seemed to be going quite strong in her duties.
Though, things changed rather quickly upon learning about a recent attack that had occurred in the outer districts of the Rukongai. Investigating the attack with Captain Celes at the time, her and Chika found themselves quickly mortified at the scene of the impending crime. Taking the opportunity to head back and try to figure out just what had gone on, the two prepared silently for an attack later on in Las Noches.
Before their excursion to recover Satoshi Kazuhiko, Chika took the opportunity to train alongside Celes Shindazu and Tala Selao, getting to know the fighting styles of both Shinigami while similarly displaying a trick of hers for the first time; that of 'Bankai'! Well, the guise of Bankai that she seemed to hold, naturally catching Celes and Tala off-guard. Either way, she was ready for what was to come!
Eventually, the time for the trip into Las Noches had come. Joining the strike force to rescue Kazuhiko, Chika did what she could in Las Noches, eventually following the group into the sands of Hueco Mundo in order to rescue the Shinigami in question. Thankfully? The group managed quite the success. Kazuhiko had managed to be recovered quickly thanks to the group's efforts.
From there, everything went quite well for a while! Chika had been sent to tackle more operations in the Human World (due to a request from her), and eventually got to take down quite a number of Hollows! Unfortunately however, it seemed a rather unprecedented threat made himself prevalent in the Human World; Arcadus, the then Segunda Espada.
Fighting as best as she could, she eventually found herself as no match against the Espada, being taken back to Las Noches. At the same time as her forceful capture, it seemed that the second path into Seireitei from Kazuhiko's original kidnappers had been in the works. Though, she had little opportunity to worry about that, as her torture was soon to begin.
As she was dragged back to Arcadus' domain, experimented on, forced to consume hollows in order to simply survive, it'd be rather difficult to say that Chika hadn't been through quite a lot. The girl was left with quite an amount of pent-up trauma, though had a rather interesting revelation by the end of it, when she was set free by the Arrancar; she was alive. Without powers, due to the shattering of her Bakkōtō, but alive.
And so, she was set back quite a bit. Though, rather than letting her situation get to her, Chika decided to re-enroll in Shin'ō Academy, in order to pick things up from where she'd left off. It was there that she learned a few neat things; she'd been able to cast Kidō! Presumably, from her interactions with Arcadus, and the sheer amount of Hollow reishi that she'd been forced to eat, her spirit had been altered in some way. Though, just how it had been altered left the girl questioning.
Nonetheless, Chika eventually met a few new friends in the Academy. A number of people that were just like her! Half-beast, and seemingly scorned by quite a few people within the Academy, but the lot of them were making the best of it as they could. People like Koko, Polis, Cassidy, and Taranis helped her make the best of a seemingly rough situation.
Though, things picked up rather quickly once she realized that she'd been able to actually hold an Asauchi now. Spiritual stability had finally welcomed the girl with the Starcursed Brand, and she was glad to see that had been the case. In time, her and her friends graduated, and it was time to pick a Squad! The lot of them had decided to go with the Onmitsukidō, joining and serving directly under Central 46. Chika had quite the way to go in order to return to where she once was in terms of strength, but she was ready for it!
