Caballero's last hope was short lived, just as all their other efforts in the battle against the Segunda Espada had been so far. Like with Cero del Caballero, Arcadus only had to open his mouth and gulp down the attack in what could only be described as the most defeating way to deal with someone's last attack. Not parrying, not blocking it, but eating it. One of Caballero's strongest attacks, yet another snack for the second mightiest Arrancar in all of Hueco Mundo. Disheartened, the tiny knight could only look up in the aftermath of their attack, and wait for Arcadus to attack...
But the attack did not come. At least, not initially. As it turned out, the tiny bean's attack had actually done something. For the first time since they had begun fighting, it had actually managed to 'damage' Arcadus. By damage, it was merely singing a lock of hair, something that was utterly and completely meaningless in the grand scheme of things. At least, that was the objective observation. However, for someone as dignified as Arcadus, who had been flawlessly superior in battle... this was the stain on a perfect record, a reminder that despite the vast gap in strength, Caballero had managed to actually do something, no matter how small it was.
Insects should not 'do something'. Insects should do nothing. Insects should just sit back and die, crushed beneath the heel of the strong. That seemed to be the Espada's mindset, perhaps even his core belief, because that single burnt lock of hair was enough to send him into a frenzy of boiling hot rage. Arcadus roared at Caballero like a wild animal, shaking the tiny bean even more due to their fear of loud noises. To someone with their amount of Light Aura, Caballero could only shudder at the sheer hatred and contempt Arcadus held toward them in his voice. Soon, they would be hearing that "USELESS! USELESS! USELESS! USELESS! USELESS!" in their nightmares... provided they survived, of course.
As if to cement the superiority and make it perfectly clear to everyone present that he, the Espada, was truly superior and unable to be touched by the filthy, lowly Adjuchas with delusions of Shinigamihood, Arcadus began to charge a Cero unlike anything Caballero had ever seen before. They could even feel its electrifying energy, and they had no Energy Sensory abilities whatsoever. That's how utterly terrifying it was, in terms of power.
In one last defiant attack, and perhaps a desperate measure to try and get out of their immediate demise, Caballero concentrated their Reiatsu once again in a futile attempt to match it, firing their own black and white Cero against the explosive power of a great king's attack, Gran Rey Cero, firing it just a mere moment later. The two attacks may have collided, but it didn't matter. The power behind Gran Rey Cero completely obliterated Caballero's owna attack at the faintest touch, as if it hadn't ever been fired in the first place.
And then, everything turned white.
The tiny knight's Reiatsu body, already susceptible to spiritual attack in the first place, felt like burning within the Gran Rey Cero. Their limbs, the rags covering their body, their toy-like purification blade... all were disintegrated, caught in the attack. The black Reiatsu that conformed their shape was gone, leaving naught by the mask as the one last stubborn little piece holding Caballero together. Among all that pain and damage they were taking at once, despite the fact that it felt like an eternity of suffering, they could only think that they had done well. If their destiny was to die because of their choice to do the right thing in spite of their hunger and nature... then they would gladly lay their life for it, to the very last moment.
As the gigantic blast of the Gran Rey Cero went off, illuminating a very large space around them and turning that area into molten glass, Caballero's charred, helmet-like mask flew through the dark skies of Hueco Mundo after the explosion. Weightless as they already were, the sheer force of the blast made them land miles away from there, perhaps hidden behind the light of the attack. Unconscious, unable to move, unable to think, it was impossible to tell how far they flew, how long they flew for, where they landed... or whether they were even alive, or dead. To any passerby, they would look like just another ordinary mask laying on the sands, where it would soon be buried within the dunes, ironically eaten by the world whose core philosophy revolved around 'eat, or be eaten'.
The tiny knight's life pended on a single thread, but in case they manage to survive due to some stroke of crazy luck, their lack of lungs might come in handy to keep them alive beneath the sand...
