Kuroi hadn't planned to attack Asuka right off the bat. He was sitting on a large rock, his feet on the ground, his knees bent. His elbows were resting on his knees, and his hands were together. He was looking at Asuka through some kind of glare, though his eyes were normal, the same emotionless cold as always. He was regarding her while she looked around for him. She wouldn't see him. His current position was actually out of her view, for it was blocked by several formations. She'd gotten stronger, he'd admit that. The training had paid off. 10 days of Kuroi's bootcamp, and Asuka was tough. He hadn't admitted it to her, but her improvement threatened his body now.
Not so much as that she could damage him, for even then she didn't have the power to inflict large damage. It was that Asuka was able to keep up with him now. Her speed had come to match his. Her physical strength had gone beyond his. Her senses and instincts had become better than his. However, she still did not have as much spiritual pressure or reiatsu as Kuroi, and her reiatsu strength was still far inferior. She could sense Reiatsu better than he could, so of course it was only obvious that she'd know this much. Kuroi's training did well. He'd trained her to gain new power, additional abilities. She'd had to sacrifice the potential to gain High Speed Regeneration, but it was worth it. Kouen, Nijuu, and Chisoku had all done so as well, and they were ridiculously strong.
Only Kuroi had kept his High Speed Regeneration, and only because it made him strong. As opposed to other Espada, he was able to win even when adversaries had superior stats. Of course however, he'd been fighting with only his arms the last few days. They'd actually only trained up until Day 8. Kuroi had given Asuka Day 9 to rest up, regenerate her powers, and practice a little bit on her own. He'd had to attend to some business. Business, meaning he'd had to explain to Chisoku, Nijuu, and Kouen the details of a mission that he was sending them on. They were all strong. He honestly didn't need to keep track of them at all times, which was good. Soon, when Kuroi was done with her, Asuka would be like that too. She was still part of his Fraccion, but Kuroi could see her as an Espada shortly.
That was the level he was sending her to. Espada. All of the others were like that already, but didn't have it as a goal. Chisoku just wanted to be the fastest. He didn't want to be an Espada. Following Kuroi was how he'd go, though he could probably get Sexta. Nijuu could probably get Cuarta or Tercera, and his goal was simply to be or follow the strongest, and that meant Kuroi. Kouen however, had the potential to become the Primera. Kuroi had always been impressed particularly by Kouen, but Kouen had no intentions of ever becoming an Espada. He wanted what was best for Las Noches. He felt what was best could be attained by his following Kuroi. And so, that was what he did. At any rate, that was enough thought, Kuroi figured.
Kuroi stood up, taking casual steps towards Asuka. They were ten meters apart, facing each other by the time he got there. He'd provided Asuka with another suit. They were going to make things spicy and tough now. He was going to bring her to the strongest level. "You've moved beyond the level you were at before." Kuroi said. "I am no longer capable of facing you without these." He reached into his suit, drawing his wakizashi blades out. He held them in a reverse tonfa grip, as always. "However...you are still too weak. Any of the other three can still crush you. That is why we have 20 days left. By the end of that time, I will make you even stronger." Kuroi was strong, there was no doubt about it.
And he could make Asuka strong too. Kouen had once said that no one could become strong like Kuroi. His strength was because, for whatever reason, his abilities as a living organism were superior. But, no one was forbidden in trying. Kuroi rushed forwards instantly, his blades already out. His speed had become equal to Asuka's. The left blade was coming in fast, and heading for Asuka. Her instincts had become good, she should be able to block. She should even be able to land a hit. She had yet to land one, actually. The fact that he used those blades meant that he believed she might be able to. He began slashing wildly, and yet skillfully, around Asuka so that he could attempt to hit her. Each strike was precise, but custom. The angles were different from most angles, awkward to block. Asuka would have trouble adjusting.
