“Ugh to think I’d have to do this again.”
William spoke to himself out loud while stretching, leaning downwards with his right leg out, his heel pressed firmly against the ground while his left leg was underneath him bent. He could feel the tendons and muscles in his right leg stretching, he had to be warmed up for what he was doing, early in the morning with the sun just starting to come over the horizon. He’d made the decision that he just couldn’t keep running and taking hits from things such as Hollows. He’d gotten lucky so far with the things that he’d stopped in Japan.
Learning everything from a young age he’d believed that everything would have stayed with him throughout his life, but as he’d realized quite fast, he’d lost essentially everything after only a couple of years. The training was still there as was the knowledge, but actually ting it to work was something different. His gears were rusted and needed that rust polished off which meant he was back to doing the same thing his Father had him doing as a young boy. Out in the wee hours of the morning doing as much training as possible.
He had to be able to get to the people faster, last time a Hollow had attacked it had more than enough time to kill more than a handful because he couldn’t accelerate his movements anymore. That was something he just couldn’t allow now and so he was back to figuring it all out. Sighing followed by a big inhale of fresh air William brought his arms up over his head while leaning from one side to the other. He was almost completely stretched out which would hopefully make this faster.
He’d left his apartment yesterday managing to get out after work and change into his more comfortable civilian clothes and then head to a clothing shop. He’d gone there for something comfortable yet fitting and that’s what he had on right now. Still, he hated the fact that under armor was the only thing they really offered that he liked as his wallet began to scream at him. A pair of dark grey track pants and a sleeveless grey tight top. The only other thing on at the moment, a comfortable pair of socks and his sneakers.
Standing at the top of his apartment building William feels out the soul of the roof beneath his feet. It was metal of course being in Tokyo most everything was covered in something modern. His left foot in front of his body with his right foot back further he feels out for a couple of seconds before he can pick up on the soul. Moving his reiatsu in tandem with it was something that he used to be able to do easily and now it was something that took actual attention.
He’d definitely slacked off way too much, but that was the entire reason he was back to tracing out his training. Over the course of the next ten minutes or so William kept switching his stance, the positions of his feet and direction he was looking towards all while getting back to that feeling once again with the soul of the roof. Getting back into the hang of it over a couple of minutes wouldn’t be where he wanted to stop since it wouldn’t be enough for when he really needed to use something.
So, while it was getting easier to find the random with the roof that didn’t mean he’d accomplished anything. Stepping forward William tried to command the roof to fling him forward. It was something he’d already been able to do like all Fullbringers with Soul Communication, yet it was very limited on what it could accomplish whereas things like what he was trying to do now were less about communicating and more commanding. Step after step after step yet no progress. A frustrating bit of the morning for certain.
It wouldn’t be until another hour passed, before William took a step forward and then found himself several feet away. A burst of reiatsu from the bottom of his feet as the roof aided him in closing the distance at a speed far greater than what he could pull off with just his body. A smile breaking off across the face that had turned sour a while ago with the rise of the sun. “Well at least it wasn’t lost forever.” Continuing on the roof for a bit longer William took another small step forward in reclaiming the power he once possessed.
