The wooden blade of Kang Feng struck true, but Shawn didn't seem perturbed by it, using the momentum to roll backwards and counter attack fairly swiftly, aiming at Feng's foot. "A point for Feng, continue!" As the wooden jian headed towards Feng's foot, the student hopped upwards to try and dodge the thrust. With his longer blade, he aimed a jab at the same shoulder he had hit before while in midair. It was a risky move, given there wasn't a lot he could do to adjust his movement from the air, but he felt very over confident in his abilities. He had left himself open for attack, but would Shawn have the skills and speed to defend and capitalize?

This was turning into quite an interesting match for sure, Kang was an opponent that was truly testing Shawn in every capacity. The big problem though was their speed and strength difference, not so large he couldn't react yet big enough to make this a tough battle. His opponent was reacting much faster than he was as well, easily hopping up in the air to avoid the jab to the foot. Funnily enough this would be the reason Shawn managed to avoid the next shoulder strike, as he would follow Kang's movement upward and consequently trip on his own foot.
Sadly Shawn doesn't have fast enough reflexes to catch himself from falling, though this is why he would avoid the jab aimed at his shoulder. Transitioning into a roll to avoid falling flat on his face he moves somewhat to the left before returning to his feet. When he finds himself back in the upright position the only thing he could think of was to turn right facing Kang before going for another jab with his wooden Jian blade. Maybe he would get lucky this time as his opponent was still falling, but who knows how fast Kang could react?

Shawn's luck, skill, and strategy paid off, as Kang didn't react in time to avoid being jabbed in the stomach by Shawn's wooden blade. The attack at the shoulder had been avoided with a trip and roll, followed by good strategy to attack while his opponent was open. "Another point for Shawn. Match point is next. Continue!" If Shawn managed to get one more point before Kang, he'd win this duel. He needed to be up 2 points versus his opponent to win, which could be attainable if he continued like he had been fighting so far. Kang was furious at being behind and after recovering from being jabbed in the stomach and resetting from the point lost, he moved swiftly to try and make up the difference.
In a rage, Kang swung his liuyedao with all his might, a horizontal slash aimed at Shawn's upper body. Just low enough to be very hard to duck under, high enough to be impossible to jump over, and fueled with anger and malice. How would Shawn respond to this attack coming at him with superior force?

Shawn was in a strangely good position, apparently he managed to get that hit off netting yet another point. Just one more and he can win! That is if his opponent doesn't manage to get one in the meantime. Judging by this guy's reaction he was angry, to angry to really think strategically apparently. The next attack sent Shawn's way was a simple yet powerful horizontal strike, done in such a way to prevent ducking or hopping over it.
Thankfully Shawn had his footing back, meaning he was capable of counter striking from this attack. Dropping low to the ground he will simultaneously hold his wooden sword at an angle with the tip pointing diagonally down and towards to attacks direction with the hilt above his head. Using his opponents own momentum and the angle of his own weapon Shawn would try deflecting the attack upwards along his practice sword before flicking it to cause the attack to miss his hands. Upon doing that he would move that momentum from the flick to point his weapon straight at his opponent before pushing forward with all his might in an attempt to plant the point of his weapon into the gut of his opponent who is hopefully both caught of guard and off balance.
