The sequences of movements over the next few moments were such that a good portion of practitioners in the way of the blade would be surprised. Not just by how well Kuro was actually employing the movements and position of his zanpakuto, but by the way that William maneuvered his wrist. Not holding onto the wrench nor moving it in the typical way that one would for such a brute, blunt weapon. William was utilizing it as if the crude thing were a knife. Thus this exchange looked more like a spar of blades than just a random assault.
Either way though everything continued and thus while Kuro managed to showcase that he could cut into William’s stomach causing immense damage if not end him, the shinigami would know from the exchange the same was true. William had tossed the wrench in his hand over to the other and now while Kuro smiled the metal scent of the tool would grace his nostrils. The tool positioned under his neck showcasing that for the lethal blow to his stomach, Kuro would suffer the same to his throat, thus in a real battle it was likely neither of them would survive.
“Winning the war is the most important thing.” William stepped back tossing the wrench from his hand onto the floor beneath his feet. This had been a bit of fun and definitely showed William that he had allowed his skills to rust over. The only thing he could be grateful for at this sparring session was that he now knew this and could work to refine himself once again. The next time someone came across him with a weapon he would be more prepared, sharpened and ready. “You’ve definitely put in the effort to handle your zanpakuto correctly. Thanks for the fun.”
