Thread Title: Kaze vs Beast Participants: Jikken Kaze, Beast World: Human World Death Setting: Non Death Enabled Rating: PG-13 Location: In between the dense jungle of the Amazon Rainforest, just below a small, poorly constructed house tree-house, there is a small clearing, maybe ten feet in diameter. The foliage is thick and wet, but not submerged in water. Special Conditions: None. Circumstances: After being being experimented on by Ken'ichi, Beast was released back into the World of the Living, ironically enough, in a jungle. More specifically, the Amazon Rainforest, which a certain mod soul had taken to calling his home for the past few years.

"Ahh, this is the life." Kaze said to himself, as the scent of cooking meat fills the humid air. It was late evening in this part of the world, with maybe an hour or so before nightfall. Kaze had decided that now was a good enough time for dinner, and had a fire going in his fire pit. He poked the panther with his stick, slowly cooking the animal on a rudimentary Rotisserie, the large animal straining his entire setup. He had caught the thing stalking him on his way to a nearby river, and decided that it was a good change of pace from his usual diet of caiman that attack him while he swam around. "Dinner and a new blanket. Today is a good day!" He said to himself once more, smiling widely.
It had been two years since Kaze had managed to abandon Xcution, and he was still a little paranoid that they might still one day come looking for him, but he was never high on their list. He was just another random grunt that Asmoskon had forced into their ranks. But now he was free from them. He had decided to live a quiet life, one with nature as it were. In his time here, his hair grew long and ragged, a beard covered his entire lower face, and his old clothing had been replaced by various animal furs. It was a simple life, but not one that the mod soul didn't thoroughly enjoy.
On the occasion, he did miss people. It was a lonely life without company, but he could live with that. Giving up on fighting strong people was a downer, but it wasn't like he didn't tussle with wild animals every now and again, so again, something he could live without. What he really missed though, was alcohol. He groaned at the memories. Getting wasted on a good liqueur, feeling his throat burn from an aged whisky, the smooth feeling of a fine wine. Oh the thought had him tempted to leave the forest and raid a nearby village, but he knew they didn't have any. He checked.
The smell of the meat was changing, a hint of charring in the air. He snapped back into reality, and noticed he was burning the panther. In a panic, he started spinning the thing faster, hoping to even it out. That, sadly, was the wrong move, as the wood started to creak and groan, before ultimately snapping, dropping the skinned panther into the fire. "No! My dinner!" He cried out dramatically, trying to heft the big cat out of the fire pit. Meanwhile, on the other side of the clearing, unbeknownst to Kaze, a Senkaimon opened up, allowing beast into his humble abode.
This was absolutely humiliating. Beast had been knocked out, taken back into the barracks of Squad 12 of the Gotei 13, and experimented on before simply being shooed out through a personal Senkaimon in the back. At least he wasn't in the Maggot's Nest again, but still, absolutely humiliating. All he was wearing at the moment was a hospital gown, completely grayed by his existence as a Hollow Wraith, but didn't have anything covering his entire back. At least most hospital gowns could be tied around back there, but this one was too short for that. It had to have been on purpose. Ken'ichi would pay. They all would pay.
Stepping out of the Senkaimon, Beast found himself in a clearing in a tropic location. He wasn't quite used to the humid, wet feeling of the Amazon, having come from drier climes in Africa, but this wasn't an unpleasant feeling. It might get dangerous for him if he tried using Bloeding Rand while it started to rain, but he was confident that his powers could overcome a little water. As long as the water wasn't coming from a Shinigami's Zanpakutou or a Kidou or something, he should be okay to get slightly wet. He wouldn't like it, but it would be fine if he came into contact with some wild animal or was hunted down by a zealous Shinigami.
As he finally began to take in his surroundings, he saw a half crazed man at the other side of the clearing, trying to get a burning panther out of his cooking fire. The beard was cavemanish, the furs as his clothing similarly primitive. A strong spiritual presence was coming from the man, and Beast could only lick his lips. He hadn't fed in a while, and would need to in order to keep up his strength. Or he could explode, was the theory. He had failed to feed against Kitai, Wycliff, Ken'ichi... He was growing dangerously close to instability. He needed to feed.
Striding across the clearing, Beast drew both of his Zanpakutou and just walked menacingly towards the figure at the other side. Dinner was going to be interrupted, it seemed, but for only one of them. One of them would walk out with a meal, but who that was remained to be seen. Beast was cautious, as he knew his spiritual powers were weak in comparison to this... figure. He had never met a mod soul, so finding out just what this meal was in front of him was also going to be a surprise. He made it within ten feet of the panther-tending mod soul and just pointed his saber at Kaze. "Fight for your life, if you value it."

Kaze, about to yell in frustration, looked up at the sound of a voice. Not an animal voice, or some bird chirping, but an actual human being. Or... something with the form of a human. This was a creature unlike any that Kaze had seen before, with the shape of a man, the swords of a shinigami... and a hospital gown? The creature was also positively hideous, uglier than any hollow he had ever laid eyes on. Twisted and deformed, this creature could only be described as a monster, especially with the casual method of threatening his life. But, to be perfectly honest, Kaze didn't really care about any of that.
Kaze wasn't so vain about appearances. He didn't care where you came from, (unless you're a shinigami), and didn't care how monstrously ugly a creature you were on the outside. He wouldn't judge this creature on anything other than his personality, and his ability to fight, and the fact that he wielded twin blades made him seem promising. Still, he had to wonder where this thing came from. Why was he wearing a hospital gown? Why was he in the middle of the jungle? And most importantly, why did the monster want to fight him all of a sudden? These were some of the first questions he had pop into his mind.
In the end, the mod soul shrugged. "Okay." The mod soul tossed all those questions aside, as he realized he really missed having another person around. If this one wanted to fight, an activity that had only helped him throughout his life and something he genuinely enjoyed doing, then who was he to say no? Air bust outwards, as Kaze rose upwards, ascending from his former spot on the ground, as his clothing flapped violently in the harsh breeze. His hair started floating, as the Mod Soul spoke. "You face Jikken: Kaze! I am the Titan of the Wind!" He proclaimed, as he pulled his fist back, as if readying a punch.
The self proclaimed Titan flew downwards, towards the Hollow Wraith, before suddenly flying towards the side at a speed of 500. His movements were smooth, as he circled around the swordsman to his left side. Kaze wanted to see what this creature was made of, so he decided to probe it's... his? He tested his defenses. As Kaze reached Beast's left side, he lashed out at his left elbow with a kick. Hopefully this monster was capable of backing up his threat, of else the Titan would be greatly disappointed. It was one of the reasons he regretted never figuring out energy sensory. He was loath to use more of his powers, lest he end up killing the only company he's had in years.
{Techniques}[1. This level is a passive ability that is always active. This is called 'Wind Elemental', and though this ability, Kaze has the ability to fly. While moving and only via this ability, Kaze does not use his stamina. While Kaze is Rank 1, 'Wind Elemental' moves at a speed equal to his own speed. At Rank 2, it is 25% faster. At Rank 3, it is 35%, and Rank 4 is 50%.

This creature in front of Beast shrugged and agreed to fight for his life, almost casually. He then rose up in the air and declared his name and his epithet. Titan of the Wind, eh? If Beast was a Titan of anything, it would be Flames and Death. But he couldn't call himself a Titan, not until he had proved himself worthy of Bankai and mastered its harmony between his twin Shikai as he had failed to do in the fight against Ken'ichi mere hours before this. And to master the harmony between the Shikai, he would need to learn to control them both together. He couldn't rely on his Kidou to save him, especially since Grodd's spiritual prowess had been more honed than Beast's. Beast had channeled his spiritual powers into a second Shikai, giving up the higher Reiatsu Strength Grodd had possessed. True, Beast was physically a lot stronger now, but Grodd had learned Kidou that Beast inherited that were wasted on Kaze, especially Hiragana since this mod soul could fly on command.
Speaking of flying, Kaze was headed towards him at a blurring speed. Beast was quicker than any human, significantly faster than any Olympian athlete, but Kaze was incredibly quick in comparison to Beast. The Titan's body was a blur as he came kicking at Beast. Beast could tell that there was something there that was attacking him, but making out the specifics of Kaze's shape was going to be tough. He brought his arm up in defense, attempting to use Hakuda Defense: Do. If successful, the kick would hit the back of his clenched hand and be nullified by Beast's impressive physical strength. The problem was that Beast was significantly slower even if his reaction times were superhuman as well. If successful, though, Kaze would feel reverberations in his leg that would probably hurt slightly. Beast would feel Kaze's spiritual wrath from this if successful, though.
Beast hadn't remembered about the cutback effect, given he nearly always released immediately upon fighting someone. The difference in their Spiritual Pressures would cause Beast's hand to bruise from hitting Kaze directly. Shaking off his hand, Beast Flash Stepped to the side away from Kaze and released both of his Shikai together. "Grow or Else, Oerwoud Hart! Burn It All Down, Bloeding rand!" The weapon in his right hand dissipated into a bone bracer on his forearm and fist, while the saber in his left hand grew red hot and a metal gauntlet appeared on his arm up to the elbow. Beast's body began to grow in height slowly but steadily, while his hair grew out a foot longer down to his shoulder blades and continued to grow, albeit at a faster rate than his body did.
Trying to keep his powers hidden from Kaze, Beast remained where he was and just waited for the blur to come at him again. This time, he'd be more ready.

Kaze winced as his foot impacted against Beast's arm. It felt as sturdy as any metal, and didn't budge under the pitiful amount of force Kaze used against the Wraith. The mod soul could feel that a few of his toes had broken from the differences in physical power, and he was lucky he didn't need to stand, or else this fight might have gotten dangerous. But a few useless toes weren't going to slow him down. Plus, he managed to learn something; this man was a powerhouse. If he had that kind of strength, it would be dangerous for him to get too close. His best plan of attack would be to pepper him with his Wind Scythes and- were those Zanpakuto?
The abomination had used a technique he was eerily familiar with in order to gain some ground. He'd seen Shunpo more than enough times to recognize it. Add on top of that the weapon releases that the shinigami used... no, that wasn't quite right. Two weapons, a sword of some kind and a gauntlet appeared in his hands, but his body changed. That wasn't how shinigami operated. He glared at the man as if he were some kind of misshapen puzzle. Kaze spit to the side. "So what are you? A zanpakuto? Shunpo? Are you the newest model of Shinigami?" He accused the man with anger and vitriol.
He didn't give Beast a chance to respond, as he blurred forward once more, dashing towards him in a straight line, before stopping five feet away from him. "Air..." He pulled back for a punch, before letting it fly forward, throwing his entire body into it. "Hammer!" The air rippled before Beast, before a six foot wide cylinder of air moved at him like a train. That wasn't an exaggeration either, as Kaze was showing off his full power, the Air Hammer boating a modest 600 rs. It would travel exactly six feet, stopping a foot behind where Beast was standing at the moment.
If the attack hit the Wraith, he would be violently thrown backwards. It was a blunt attack, so the damage wouldn't be fatal, but it would sting something fierce. The attack would leave a small groove in the earth, roughly a foot in width. "Just another weapon for those sick monsters to aim, huh? Do they have you brainwashed too? Or did they promise you some experimental power, and now it cost you everything?" He asked rhetorically, not expecting an answer from one of those Squad Twelve devils. It got his blood boiling at the thought of them after all these years. It felt really good to fight again. Even with the pain in his foot, it was thrilling. The dance of life and death, only a blade away from your final breath. He had forgotten how much he loved combat.
Air Hammer: 100 reiatsu Total Reiatsu Remaining: 3,650/3,750
{Air Hammer}Kaze calls this ability 'Air Hammer'. When Kaze punches or kicks, he can spend 100 reiatsu to create a circular wall of air, moving with the same speed at 'Wind Elemental'. The size of the ability is also dependant on his reiatsu strength. For every 100 reiatsu strength he has, the hammer is one foot wider. This ability gains 1 class for every rank Kaze has past 1. This ability can only travel a distance equal to its size.
There wasn't much time to answer Kaze. As the mod soul charged with his Air Hammer attack, Beast dropped to one knee and let his hair flow in front of him like a shield. It tensed up, gaining increased durability in exchange for losing movement temporarily. The air hammer struck the incredibly durable hair (1200 Durability) and pushed the ground around Beast apart leaving a ditch around him but would barely push Beast back. The hair was not only twice as durable as the air hammer, it was also as physically strong as the hammer was spiritually strong. It had enough holding power to only give a few inches when they clashed. The ground would be scarred in a "^" shape with Beast blocking the air from tearing up the ground directly beneath him. Now that the attack was responded to, Beast unwound his hair, stood up, and responded to Kaze.
"Shinigami? Hell no I'm not. I'm a vastly superior being. Some might call me a failed Vizard. I call myself a Wraith." Leaving it at that, Beast watched Kaze's reaction to his using Shunpo and releasing his twin Shikai. The mod soul obviously had a bad past with Shinigami the way he nearly spit out the word. "I'm no weapon of the Soul Society, I'm no brainwashed fool. I'm my own man, my existence wrenched from the grasp of an inferior being. And all that stands in my way... Is my hunger..." It was true, Beast had to feed constantly on spiritual beings or else he would grow weak and explode from the loss of stability over his possessed form. It didn't matter if Beast not being a Shinigami had Kaze let down his guard, Beast would still pursue him and try to consume him.
Pointing his saber at the ground, Beast lifted his arm up with a partial Shunpo Karin. As he did so, a small bit of reiatsu was infused into his sword which caused flaming dagger-like leaves to emerge. For every inch the blade travelled in its arc from ground to straight up in the air, a leaf shot out. Fueled by the speed of the Shunpo Karin, these blades of leaves moved at 1500 Speed and possessed 450 Strength behind them. They moved in a straight line after being shot out by the sword, forming a cresent shaped slash travelling through the air pretty quickly and having enough bone breaking strength behind it to do some serious damage if Kaze wasn't careful. This was a simple attack, though. Testing the waters for what Kaze was capable of. And this time, Beast was being slightly conservative with his energy reserves. He'd been burned too many times in the past already by acting too aggressively with his reiatsu.

The mod souls listened to the words the beast spoke, but what he was trying to convey weren't taking hold. "Vizard? Wraith? Are those terms supposed to mean something to me? And if you're hungry, eat some animals you nut job!" He said, clearly out of the loop if this was a failed version of something the shinigami were cooking up in their labs. He remembered a time where he and the other mod souls were supposed to be the 'latest and greatest' weapons that the shinigami had at their disposal. He thinks that after this, he should probably come out of isolation. As nice as nature is, clearly everything else was far more interesting if people like this were running around the world.
This man was capable of blocking his Air Hammer by manipulating his hair into a shield. That was so cool! And probably bad for him, given it wasn't destroyed by it. This man was capable of defending against his basic powers. The thought had the Wind Titan grinning. He didn't have to hold back against this discount Shinigami. And if the Mod Soul didn't have to hold back, then there was no way he would. The mod soul held both of his arms ramrod straight, palms cupped forward with his fingers clawed and pointing towards the Wraith. "Well, Shinigami, Wraith, or whatever else you are, you made a mistake challenging the Titan of the Wind!" He said before activating his technique.
Kaze didn't run from his opponent's attack. Instead, he matched it. In each hand, he activated a Wind Scythe. Instantly, two foot long blades shot fourth from his hands, crescent blades shot forward faster than the eye could see at a staggering 1000 speed. Each hand fired ten blades of wind as they surged forward, slamming against the flaming leaves, and cutting through them. Each blade had a cutting power of 600, easily slamming through Beast's attack. A few of the blades were destroyed after colliding with two leaves, but the amount was negligible given how spread out they all were. All of the blades Kaze shot out were in a line, and nearly fired out all at once.
Kaze watched as the leaves just barely passed over his head and between his legs. If his Wind Scythes were any smaller, he'd have been struck by the flaming foliage for certain. Under any other circumstance, Kaze would have likely turned to see what utter destruction that attack caused to the jungle. He really wanted to, but if this Wraith was capable of launching more attacks like that, he couldn't afford to take his eyes off the fake shinigami. He'd loose his life before he would know he died. So Kaze flew forward, following his attack. He also activated his Slipstream, leaving a current of wild trailing after him. The air simmered in his wake.
{Wind Scythe}4. 'Wind Scythe', is a fun ability for the mod soul. By pointing his palm towards something, Kaze unleashes a torrent of crescent blades of wind, barely visible to the average eye. Kaze shoots out 10 blades like a machinegun, each moving twice as fast as 'Wind Elemental', cutting with Kaze's rs value. The blades are roughly a foot long, and with every rank past 1, they increase another foot, with rank 4 being 4 foot blades. This ability costs 100 reiatsu. Travels 500 feet.

Kaze aimed his hands and let loose a salvo of wind blades that easily matched Beast's flaming leaves. Kaze's wind scythes were fast and could cut well, so Beast's wave of blades didn't stand a chance. The twenty blades of the Mod Soul's each were two feet long and crushed most of Beast's 100 flaming leaves. What they didn't crush, Kaze just let pass him. Beast stepped to the side using Shunpo to avoid the incoming leftover Scythes, then took stock of what Kaze was doing. The Mod Soul was flying towards him, the air behind him shimmering. That couldn't be good. Beast made a mental note to not get behind his opponent and avoid trying to attack him from a "blind side" as there was probably something that could wreck his day if he got too close to it. Whatever it was, Beast had to be careful, but he also had to worry about the blurringly fast Mod Soul approaching him.
Beast's hair was three feet long now, and Kaze would notice if he looked closely that the Wraith's fingernails were also three inches long with sharp claws. He was also fast approaching seven feet tall. With his right hand, the one not holding a flaming sword, Beast pointed his hand towards Kaze and let out a pitiful attack. He fired his nails out at a strength and speed of 300. Paltry compared to the previous slash. This was simply testing the waters for what Kaze would do. Would he expend energy on dodging the nails, or let out another Wind Scythe and burn up reiatsu on knocking them aside? For all Kaze knew, these claws were powerful despite their slow speed. While Kaze dealt with that, probably fairly easily, Beast was already multitasking and working on a separate technique.
With Kaze's inability to sense Energy, he may not notice that while pointing his hand with the claws launched he was also pointing to an area of ground behind Kaze and mentally casting a Hado mixed with one of his Shikai Techniques. A pool of flaming water welled up behind Kaze. After firing out the fingernails, Beast raised his hand and pulled it back towards him, potentially warning Kaze of the incoming technique but also not an extremely apparent move. The Gouzen Demizu mixed with Beast's Draakstaking was a flaming tidal wave of water that could drown and burn at the same time. Beast suddenly jumped high in the air with impressive strength, then jumped again off of the air ground to get high enough to not get hit by the Gouzen Demizu. That also could warn Kaze of the incoming attack, so there was a good chance that this attack would fail utterly.

Kaze was nothing if not bull headed, pursuing his enemy with a look of pure rage in his chocolate colored eyes. The mod soul did indeed notice the changes happening to the demi-hollow, but without knowing more about what they implied, it meant little to him. If anything, it meant that he'd have a bigger target to hit with his attacks, and that was something he would happily use to his advantage. He charged headlong and headstrong towards the Wraith, arms curled and fists pointing at his opponent, ready and willing to punch him into oblivion.
Beast pointed and fired his disgusting claw-like nails at the mod soul, something he wasn't able to fully avoid. He flew in between the attacks the best he could, but he could only react so quickly. While his reaction times were much better than a normal human, with how fast he was moving and how fast the nail flew towards him, it made them seem much faster to his point of view. A nail cut into his cheek, gouging out a chunk of flesh, while a second one tore out a jagged line along his back, going over his shoulder blade on his left side. He yelled in pain, but continued onward regardless.
The beast leapt high into the air, a true feat of strength, the likes of which the mod soul had never seen before. It didn't intimidate him, however, and he easily adjusted his flight path, shooting into the sky after him, inadvertently avoiding the tsunami of fire that had been trailing after him. The mod soul was before the former Shinigami in the blink of an eye. His face could be described as thunderous, as the wrathful visage leered down on the beast. As fast he could, Kaze brought his arm forward, shooting out an Air Hammer from his fist. The attack, if it landed, would throw the monster further into the air, like a ragdoll shot out of a cannon.
If his first attack did launch him further into the sky, Kaze would continue to batter the Wraith with more Air Hammers, up to three more times. But, if the former shinigami managed to avoid his attack, Kaze would fly to the side, knowing that it would quickly bring an end to this fight if Beast managed to grab a hold of him. After either of these scenarios, Kaze would speak once more. "You wield a blade of flame, yet you fight me from a distance! Do you fear me, monster!? I expected you to fight with the ferocity of a starving beast, yet all you do is throw nails and leaves at me!" He goaded his opponent, hoping to see more of his powers.
Air Hammer: 100-400 Total Reiatsu Remaining: 3,200-2,900/3,750
The Mod Soul rushed after Beast, dodging his flaming tidal wave that scorched the earth and set fire to a large portion of the jungle beneath them. This could be bad, as now Beast was out of his element into the domain of "The Titan of the Wind". Kaze would have no trouble fighting in the air, and while Beast had air ground and advanced air ground to work with, he didn't have a lot of options in the air compared to his opponent. Even as Beast tried to orient himself in the air after jumping the second time, Kaze hit him in the stomach hard with an Air Hammer.
With a lot of impact force behind that Air Hammer, Beast did go flying out of control from where he had been trying to orient himself. He definitely was going to have a bruise there and felt the strain on his ribs from where he was struck, but his body was more durable than most bodies, even compared to most Shinigami who were naturally more damage resistant than squishy humans. Then he was attacked three more times, each sending him further up into the air and out of control. By the time the third one hit him though, he was prepared for it mentally, winding up his hair to block the majority of the force from hurting him even if it and the next did send him flying higher.
Then Kaze shouted out his challenge. It was an attempt to goad Beast into fighting him at close range, and it was working. Beast was confident in his hand to hand capabilities and was not afraid of Kaze, just cautious due to the last fight ending in humiliation and Kaze's superior speed being such a drastic difference. However, it didn't appear that Kaze had fire techniques like Ken'ichi had which had been able to neutralize the majority of Beast's Zanpakutou from Grodd by just setting him and his hair on fire. So, goaded into fighting at closer range, Beast caught himself on a platform of Advanced Air Ground, oriented himself towards Kaze, and charged.
His hair flowing around his arm and growing another foot longer, Beast directed the mass to take the sword from his grip and form a larger arm. Knowing he couldn't move his own arm fast enough to keep up with the hair, he kept his arm pinned to his side while he used the hair as his arm instead. This took focus, and he'd not tried this in combat before, so he was directing most of his attention to getting this perfect as he dove down towards the Mod Soul. When he got within fifty feet of Kaze, he'd use his hair arm to form another slash of leaves with 600 strength and speed behind them. It was a short slash, not a full side to side sweep, so only a mere thirty bladed leaves were fired out. But Beast was still falling towards Kaze behind his leaves and aimed to strike at his opponent after the "Titan of the Wind" had dealt with the leaves with a lot more physical strength behind them this time.

A heavy blow sent the maskless hollow spiraling through the air, tumbling back from the impact of Kaze's Air Hammer. It was a satisfying sight to see for the mod soul. Even still, his opponent was as tough as steel, his ribs still intact. Kaze would freely admit to admiring the durability of his opponent, glad to see he was stronger than most could boast to be. The fact that he survived the three that followed after the first was downright astounding to Kaze. 'What a strong opponent.' He couldn't believe how lucky he got with this one.
It was hard to tell in the low light on the setting sun, but he thought he could see The Beast's features twist in response to his provocations. It could have been a trick of the light, but he liked to believe he was getting under his skin. His very, very disturbing looking skin. The hairy fiend rushed at Kaze, his hair growing like a mass of writhing tentacles, passing his zanpakuto to his unruly mane. It was by far the weirdest abilities he has ever come across, and he hadn't the slightest clue on how it connected to flaming leaves. Still, the hair was now armed and was now the most dangerous hairdo in all existence.
But in spite of the terrifyingly bad hair day, Kaze wouldn't back away from a challenge like this. He flew at Beast, left arm cocked back to throw the most devastating punch he's ever thrown. The they flew at one another like two forces of nature about to clash. The blade-wielding tendril slashed at him before long, unleashing another barrage of flaming leaves at the mod soul. This was much faster though, with a speed even eclipsing Kaze's own falling towards him like shooting stars. It was as beautiful as it was deadly, and Kaze barely had a second to react.
The Titan held his arm out in front of himself, as the winds whipped around his wind, spinning faster and faster until his arm was coated in a tornado. His Wind Armor was a force to be reckoned with, as the leaves impacted against it were torn asunder, becoming little more than dust in the wind. Kaze roared at he moved past the wave of fire and foliage, attempting to strike at his hairy enemy. If Beast retaliated with a sword slash, Kaze would use his arm to block the weapon. The metal would screech against his hurricane-coated limb, but would fail to penetrate the defense. The Titan would attempt to punch the Wraith in the shoulder, attempting to do some non-lethal damage to the spirit.
Wind Armor: 200 Total Reiatsu Remaining: 2,700/3,750
{Wind Armor}5. 'Wind Armor'. This is Kaze's go to ability for when he wants to just punch something. This ability coats one part of Kaze's body in razor-sharp air, that destroy anything it touches with less rs than Kaze has. This does not cover much of Kaze. It could at most, for example, cover his entire forearm down. It can cover other places, like his chest, head or feet, but not entirely. If he wants to cover his chest, he could, but he couldn't cover his back. It would be like an armor, that covers only two feet of any part of his body. This ability lasts a single post. For every rank past 1, this armor gains an extra 200 rs. Cooldown is 2 posts. Cost is 200 reiatsu.
The flaming blade leaves were destroyed by Kaze just holding up his arm as the two flew towards each other. The Mod Soul demonstrated a new power by becoming sheathed in shredding wind over just his forearm of the single limb, something that Beast did not want to be struck by. But if it came down to it, Beast was at the moment just hoping to out wind the "Titan of the Wind" as crazy as that sounded. He wanted to be conservative and try to just outclass the Mod Soul in brute force to try and overcome the disparity between them that way. It wasn't a good plan, to be honest, as Kaze was incredibly fast in comparison.
As the pair drew nearer to collision, Beast falling and Kaze rising up to meet him, Beast kicked off of Advanced Air Ground to the side to narrowly avoid the Mod Soul. That Wind Armor would have been too dangerous to swing a sword at after he saw what had been done to the leaves. Sliding by Kaze, however, Beast would orient himself facing the Mod Soul and slash outwards with another burst of leaves to force the Mod Soul to react to an attack coming from behind him. They had the same speed and strength as before, 600, but the point of them was to force him to burn more energy than Beast was using. Beast could fire blades of leaves for a long time before he burned himself out. Kaze, however, had been spending a lot more to push Beast's buttons.
Now he needed to figure out how to land safely having reached terminal velocity from having been thrown so high by the Air Hammers. Sure, he could probably survive hitting the ground if he wanted to, but he wanted to be able to continue to fight, and Kaze could fly so he didn't have to worry about hitting the ground. Beast's first idea was to form a pool of water with Gouzen Demizu, but that would extinguish Bloeding Rand. He could first fling the Shikai away to be safer, but Kaze was fast enough to probably be able to retrieve it first or keep it out of reach. Even just stopping his fall with Air Ground would not be safe in the slightest. His next idea would be much safer.
As he reached the jungle canopy, he used a tendril of his five foot hair to grab and swing on a branch, going from falling straight down to swinging forwards and jumping. Now that he was still moving quickly, but not straight down, he could start to prepare for landing. With that same tendril of hair in front of him, he stopped himself with a tree, cushioning his collision with the hair as a way to not hit directly into it. From there he could just use Air Ground to return above the canopy of the jungle and see where Kaze was and what the Mod Soul was doing in response to the slashed attack.
It seems that the maskless hollow was faster than he had anticipated, dodging his strike by bouncing off the air. It was impressive, all things considered, and not something he'd have thought of, mostly because he can fly. Still, that put him in a rather poor position, as his back was to his enemy. That couldn't be allowed, as he quickly tried to put some distance between the two of them. He spun around, and kicked at the swordsman, releasing another Air Hammer. His thinking was that the brute might have tried to take another swipe at him, and in that, he had been right.
What he hadn't been right about, was the power behind this one. Flaming leaves collided with his air stomp in an explosive confrontation. The two attacks were equal in power now, much to the shock of Kaze, as they clashed, making a spectacular explosion. Kaze screamed out in equal amounts pain and surprise, as his leg was enveloped by a wave of heat. The flesh of his gigai smelled like burnt meat, with hints of something artificial mixed in. He could feel tears welling in his eyes from the pain, as his much beloved wind felt like knives against the singed flesh.
Both his legs were in very poor condition now. One with broken toes from striking the beast, and the other from fire. This was looking less than ideal for the mod soul. "Fine!" He yelled out to his foe. "You want to keep throwing things at me from a distance!? Two can play that game!" Kaze pointed both his hands at the former shinigami, palms forward. Scythes of winds formed into his hands, as twenty blades were launched at the hairy man, sailing at him with a speed of 1000. One after another, they cut through the air without the slightest hint of resistance.
The Wraith would meet the same fate, if they were allowed to hit him. Though his new method of swinging his blade might have the strength to match Kaze's Air Hammer, that wouldn't save him from a concentrated flurry of blades. His sight might not have been the greatest in the world, but he thinks he caught sight of where the Wraith landed. It was hard to tell, given how thick the treetops were. The steadily growing fire wasn't helping things, as the leaves all started to dance with smoke and glowing shadows. He really hoped that would be something he could put out with relative ease later. If there was a later that is.
Wind Scythe x2: 200 Total Reiatsu Remaining: 2,500/3,750
Before Beast could hit the treetops and swing out of the way, Kaze Air Hammered his fire leaf slash and then responded with almost two dozen air blades raining down towards the falling Wraith. The attack was preempted by a shout of "I'll attack from a distance" more or less, so Beast was mentally prepared for a similar attack as previously demonstrated. His hair flowed to his back and twisted to fortify itself, giving it a durability of 1,200. More than enough to protect against the half as strong air scythes, but not enough to prevent the impact from pushing him even farther and faster towards the trees. Not having his regular hair to use to grab at the tree, he would surely crash into the ground if he didn't do something drastic.
Not wanting to use his ace in the hole now, but needing to in order to avoid becoming Beast paste on the Amazon ground, the Wraith aimed his right hand at the tree he was planning on swinging from and unleashed a massive 32 feet of hair in three braids. He used that set of braids to swing to the ground just as he previously had planned, incredibly annoyed that he had to resort to his ever growing secret attack. It was now as long as it was going to get, and he wound it up tightly as an additional arm. He now had a hair arm that was six feet long on his left side, holding his Bloeding Rand Shikai, and a hair arm on his right side that was wound tightly and doubled up on itself to form a handless appendage of 16 feet in length.
Feeling pretty pumped from the adrenaline of free falling, Beast bounced on his toes in preparation for the Mod Soul to attack him again. He was feeling pretty good about himself, but was wary of burning out. He had to be careful not to over exert himself. As he continued to grow in height, he flexed his nearly naked muscles all over his body just to get ready to react as quickly as possible. He may have wounded Kaze, the Titan of the Wind, with the explosion caused earlier, but the guy could fly, so his legs were nearly useless to him anyways. Beast would need to get serious if he was to actually land a killing blow this time.
{Technique Used} Technique Name: Stil Roofdier (Silent Predator)
Release Levels: Oerwoud Hart Shikai Only
Technique Description and Effect: Stil Roofdier stands for Silent Predator, which describes the kind of hunter that stalks his prey without noise. This technique is activated passively when the Shikai is released. Hidden in between the skin of his hand and the bone plate over his fingers is very tightly coiled hair. This hair isn’t spiritual, so it cannot be sensed or seen. This hair simply grows, starting at one foot in length and doubling in size for each post that it remains wound.
At will, for a cost of 200 reiatsu, Beast can allow the hair to explode outwards in three braids per hand. These stop growing after being released, and cannot be rewound to increase the growth. He only gets one shot at it per release, and would have to completely seal and re-release his Shikai in order to gain access to it, a very costly choice. Once out, they possess the same strength and speed as Beast’s regular shikai hair.
Drawback: Large reiatsu cost, and the inability to perform it again. If used too soon, it can be weak, and if not used at all, it goes wasted. The hair is vulnerable to Fire when released.
