Sudden Holes in Reality?

That crafty bastard, she thought with a huge smile on her face. It had to be the biggest smile that she had ever had since becoming a failure that wasn't produced by her own handiwork. She had him dead to rights. In any other circumstances, he might have pulled this out sooner, or she would have stopped him a long time ago, but just witnessing it for herself made her giddy with anticipation. She had her suspicious about him, but now she was sure. She knew the source of the other reiatsu feeling she was getting. It was a tingling in her mind that send shivers down her spine, and made her blood boil at the same time. Hell. It was hellish reiatsu she sensed. 

She watched the darkness consume the area around the pillar she last saw her new friend. She wanted to see his new form, wanted to test what it was capable of. She leaned forward in her reiatsu arm excitement clear on her face. Then more started pouring out. It was rather concerning. More and more consumed her lab, and it was beginning to dull her senses. Even her reiatsu senses were dulled. No, no this wasn't happening. She leaned back trying to think of a plan as the room was fully consumed. She couldn't see him, couldn't really hear him. She was at a disadvantage now. She could feel a presance more pronounced than the rest of her surroundings, but it was not enough to be sure. 

"Well done my friend." She said leaning back into her large, reiatsu hand. "It seems that you put me in a bind. I can't clearly sense you, and don't want to destroy my own lab trying to hit you." She smiled looking up where she was feeling the strongest presence of him. She would say that it was a 50/50 chance that he was actually there. She smiled looking almost cheerful. Unlike the woman isolated and tortured by her own frailty most of her life. "Lets call this a draw." She said as the fingers of the reiatsu hand folded around her. The remaining reaitsu arms would quickly surround her, and wrap themselves protectively around the first allowing for no space for anything to get through. She just hopped that he wasn't able to get through the small holes between their fingers. She had plenty of snacks to hold herself over till he was done. She was done fighting anyway.

As Keira attempted to draw her arms back in, Aramis floated upwards, above the withdrawing limbs until he was nearly touching the ceiling, so that he would not be ensnared in them. "Hheh.... Even if you say that, it's clear the difference in our abilities. We pride ourselves on our talent at analyzing a situation... determining the best course of action. Against you.... the only thing we can accomplish is to escape." His voice came in a low hiss. "Even sso..... We have enjoyed this meeting of the minds. And we will endeavor to protect your privacy... If we have our way, you will not be troubled by Shinigami here for ssome time. Hopefully you will be able to continue your research uninterrupted. Perhaps we will pay you another visit in the future, to see what you have created. For now... pardon our intrussion into your own laboratory. We will take our leave. With our respects, Doctor Bright."

Aramis swept out of the Asylum the way he had come in, leaving Keira alone for a moment, with nothing but the sounds of the distant screams for company. And then as swiftly as it had erupted from the Nakabakki, it vanished in turn, the black fog dissipating into the air, as beyond the Asylum now, Aramis sealed his Saisei Oni. He couldn't very well return to Soul Society looking like that. He refastened his shackle on his wrist, ensuring his reiatsu and demonic arm were masked once more. A small, pleased small crossed his face. He had found someone very interesting. A mind with a sharp intellect that he suspected surpassed his own, and an ambitious drive. Yes indeed. It was a shame that Soul Society would undoubtedly be found to restrictive for Kiera. Aramis would very much have enjoyed her company and her wits as a part of his division. He reopened a Senkaimon and went back to Soul Society. Not one for nostalgia, Aramis did not look back as the door sealed shut behind him.

Upon returning to Soul Society, Aramis made swift progress to his office in Squad 12, and immediately began to draft a report. He was going to make sure that he kept to his word regarding Keira. Few outside the division really understood his technojargon, and if anything, it was less understood within the division, as far too many officers used their own jargon for establishing reports that made parsing it without the specific officer standing by to explain their jargon challenging. Some officer's notes and reports resembled the sort of mad writings one might have even expected to find in a work by H.P. Lovecraft; nothing but mad scribblings and phrases the meaning of which were only known to the author. As such, Aramis put his own mind to work, drafting up his report.

Report of Captain Aramis Tezuka
Date: XXXX-XX-XX
Subject: World Rift on Karakura Outskirts

Investigated a reported disturbance, detected by twelfth division. Suspected cause was rift between worlds. Confirmed that this was the case. Mechanical generator was responsible for the rift, but was successfully destroyed. Regretfully, self-destruction of generator was sufficient that there was little left for reverse-engineering or study. No hostile parties encountered. However. The rift may have destabilized the borders between worlds in this particular area. Further study will be required to ascertain if this is the case. If this is the case, then excessive spiritual activity in the area, could risk re-opening the rift, and without Division 12 officers onsite, it may not be possible to close it again. For obvious reasons this is extremely detrimental to the stability of the Human World, and by extension the three worlds in general.

Recommended Course of Action:

Until such a time as it can be determined that the area is fully stable, I am recommending a full quarantine of the area, extending out at least one kilometer from ground zero. I recommend any access by any spiritual entity be forbidden for any purpose, until we can be certain that the area is safe. Access to the area, must be approved by either the Squad 12 Captain, or a higher sanctioning body.

Finishing his report submission, Aramis then tidied himself up and prepared himself for a meeting with the Captain Commander. It was very rare for him to initiate such meetings but something like his request for a quarantine around Keira's lab would have to be agreed upon by the Captain Commander for it to extend to divisions beyond his own. At the very least, this would allow him to provide Keira with a quick heads up if he absolutely could not deny a Shinigami access to the area, and the power to deny them access to her lab if they were. Keira was a brilliant mind, but Aramis had to be careful about sending her too many test subjects. Hopefully his report would produce sufficient reason to excuse the occasional Shinigami disappearing that did, in fact, breach the quarantine.

At any case, Aramis had found someone of particular interest in the human world, and had hope that continued relations between Doctor Bright and the 12th Division would be long and fruitful.

Keira listened to Aramis's reply from the safety of her reiatsu cocoon. In a way he was right. By all accounts she seemed to have trumped the captain in almost every category, only his new, and interesting, release was the only thing to give her pause. Even then, she stopped so that she wouldn't cause any damage to her lab, if this wasn't some sort of pocket dimension.  Still, this would have been a pain to deal with even if she was free act as she wanted to. "For the both of us, I hope that you succeed, I would hate for you to get into trouble because of me." She said adjusting her position. Before Aramis left her lab she shouted, "Give me a heads up if you want to drop by! I will be able to clean up!"

She could faintly feel Aramis leaving the lab, but the screams of the tormented still lingered. She wanted to wait for the effects to fully dissipate just in case. It is bullshit that she had to be so careful. One wrong step, one tiny paper cut, and her and everything she knows and tolerates goes up in a spiritual nuke. She sighed counting the seconds until the screams of Aramis' Saisei Oni died away to be replaced with the screams that just became ambient noise in her lab. She would dispel all but one of her reiatsu arms using it to ride all the way up to the next floor, and to the man computer room. She typed up her own report on Aramis, and his abilities, leaving the data off with his current status: Friend. That was going to take some getting used to.
