Thread Title: A Hell'uva Time Participants: Celes Shindazu & Dia Cuir World: Soul Society Death Setting: Non Death Enabled Rating: R Location: In the outskirts of Karakura town, deep within the dense foilage of the forests near the cemeteries. Special Conditions: [None] Circumstances: After a hard day of training, Celes visited the human realm to wind down and relax. Visiting cemeteries and walking through forests always have her a peace of mind. As quickly as she winds down, it seems she is forced into an encounter with someone she can't distinguish as friend or foe.

At around midday, under the blazing sun of the Human Realm, the twerping of the beds seems to be interrupted by a phenomena of sorts. A passageway from the Soul Society appears just above the treetops of the forest. Out from the bright white light steps out a familiar face. It was Celes, her uniform covered in dirt, grass and other such debris. As the gateway slowly began to close, Celes sank down to the ground and sighed a deep breath. She could almost blend in with the ground if she wanted to.
------------- 1 hour ago -------------
Back in the Soul Society, the sound of a blade was prominent in the training area. The fierce clashing of wood and Zanpakutou, Celes could be seen training her form, breathing and other qualities of her swordplay. If she wanted to keep up in the Gotei 13, she felt as though she always had to improve. No goal was out of her reach if she put her mind to it. As she practiced her swordsmanship, combining all different types of movement, she quickly whipped around as she saw a set of eyes with her blade pointing between them.
Celes maintained her position as a sign of fortitude in her action, but certainly had a moment in which was fearful that she would impale Venus. The older Shinigami spoke in a honey-sweet voice, "Well, it does seem that your form is improving Celes. Your control is getting much better too. Your Zanpakutou is only a few inches away from hitting me right between the eyes." Celes would smile in response and quickly speak, "Wow! Thank you Ven-" Before she could finish stating her name, the draw of a blade could be heard as Celes despite being caught off guard, blocked quickly. Venus chuckled. "Well. It seems that your reflexes also improved. Yet..." Venus disappeared in a flash and appeared right behind Celes.
Venus smirked and with a chuckle spoke calmly. "You need to remember to never let your guard down, little one." As Celes turned to face Venus, the older Shinigami stuck her finger out and flicked Celes across the forehead. In that instant, Celes felt herself accelerate quickly as Venus had augmented her speed and strength to cause Celes to slide on her back and tumble backwards until she stopped right in front of a tree. Venus with a chuckle walked up to the younger Shinigami and offered a hand to the dirty youngling.
While Celes happily took it, she noticed that her robe was covered in all manner of debris. Her hair was also incredibly messy. Venus chuckled as twigs became stuck in the girls' hair. "I guess that is the definition of a bad hair day isn't it Celes?" Celes rolled her eyes and began taking the twigs out of her hair. "Very funny Venus...that was quite the nasty hit you gave me." The young Shinigami giggled as Venus then retorted. "Well. Consider that payback for almost running me through." Looking serious at first, Celes knew it was a little act Venus was putting up.
As Celes was about to walk off, Venus put her hand on Celes' shoulder. "Now wait you're always training so I think you should take a break." Celes stops and turns around, stomping her foot like an immature girl. "But..-" Before she could get another word out, Venus harshened her tone. "Now! I expect you to enjoy yourself. Go to the Human World and look around a little. The way I know you though...you'll find a way to get into trouble." Venus winked and smiled as she walked off and left Celes to her own devices.
In the present, Celes now began to walk through the woods of Karakura, enjoying the lovely ambience. It was not something she regularly got to enjoy in the Soul Society. In fact, it was something she didn't encounter a lot in the human realm. She was normally locked in combat whenever she visited the Human Realm. Such a chore it was to always be fighting, but Celes was part of Squad 11 and it was one of their main duties. To a degree, the thrill of combat excited her. The rush of adrenaline was always exhilarating for her.
Before she could become even more lost in her thoughts, she encountered a cemetery. Taking this chance to pay her respect to all those who die, Celes walked in. She noticed the presence of families who had gathered to pay their respects. All of Celes' family was presumably burried in Russia. She wasn't sure if they even were, especially not her sister because they never had enough money. Either way, Celes walked around and enjoyed the peace and quiet. A moment of that felt like an eternity to her and she would relish for as long as she could.
What an absolute waste of time. Dia was irritated to say the least, when it turned out that her job for the evening turned out to be an absolute slog. Here she was, all kitted out in Xcution's finest pieces. a shining new revolver, and a rifle made JUST for popping normies! She had expected the operation would be a blast! Danger, excitement, shootouts! BUT THIS?!
It had started out well enough to say the least, a nice breaking and entering to start off the job. Dia had made it into the airvents and was sleuthing her way around. Only...well....they don't tell you how noisy those fucking vents were. She didn't even get halfway into the main room before suddenly bullets were popping all over the vents! Panicking, she'd had Mike shred the vent open, dropping down to the ground and having an absolute whopper!
Four guys, four guns, lots of bullets and a gunfight that still left her ears ringing! With those fuckboys dead or dying, it had been a straight shot into her target's office~ She'd strolled up, kicked in the door (Ok no she didn't, actually she hurt her legs trying to kick it down before Mike finally busted it in. And lo and behold.....she had found herself ina fucking empty office! She tossed the place, upending his desk, failing to knock over a bookshelf, even upenden shot a few holes in the walls to try and find him.
In her rage she'd wound up asking one of the shot-up goons where his fucking boss was. A ....difficult endeavor. But three more bullets in his fingers later, and he revealed that his employer was out of the office (no shit), and that he was off vising the grave of his dead wife. She thanked the punk with a bullet to the head, putting him out of her misery as she used the man's half-busted computer to groogle where the fuck the nearest cemetary was.
And three hours later...
She finally arrived. Mentally tired, hungry, and with sore ankles, Dia glared when she finally arrived at that fucking graveyard. Thankfully she was in comfortable clothing. A sporty jacket, a tight T, and sweatpants, no less with her signature baseball cap and backpack to hide her demon wing. She cut a scuffy little tomboy to be sure. NOBODY to mess with! Well that and the gun in her hand. Thankfully there'd been no civilians to worry about on the way here. But all the same, once she was in there, it wasn't too long until she found him.
She didn't even bother to set up any one-liners. Even as she walked up to him from behind, he didn't do a thing. She could actually HEAR the dude crying. Soft, gentle tears, almost completely inaudible, shed in the memory of his wife. And for just a moment, she did feel a slight twinge in her chest as she stood behind him, a bit surprised at how dead to the world he was. Not to mention how he looked a bit older than she'd expected. Then again, the picture had been a bit on the old side.
She raised the weapon, and pressed the barrel to the back of his head, and she felt the slight tremor of muscle tensing, causing him to freeze in place. She could see in the reflection of the tombstone his eyes which met her own, as he saw her reflected in that jet-black marble. For a moment there was confusion, and then...she just saw his eyes close, and a picture frame in his hands was hugged to his chest. She didn't know if it was the adrenaline of anticipation. Maybe she was still a little deaf from the gun fight.
But just before she pulled the trigger, she coulda swore that fucker whispered 'finally'. And that....well that just took all the taste out of her victory as he dropped, her brows furrowed just a little. "Swift winds and Good hunting, laddie..." She murmured softly, turning away from the dead body before she suddenly FROZE in place, her brows perking up as she spotted, what else? But a FUCKING shinigami looking RIGHT at her from the entrance of the graveyard.
Out of instinct, Dia raised her hand, pisto promptly cocking as she didn't hesitate in the slightest. Whether Celes saw her or not, she had that barrel lined up right with the center of the shinigami's chest. CLICK! Her whole body suddenly tensed as the weapon clicked empty, and no doubt the noise, if the gunshot from before hadn't, would DEFINITELY draw the attention of the shinigami to her. FUCK! "Hahahah....well well well there stickydick. Kinda caught me with my pants down here." She smiled a bit sheepishly at the shinigami.
She dropped the weapon and raised both her hands. "But I assure you, that this elderly man shot HIMSELF in the back of the head." She noted with a big, obvious wink, the sort of 'you didn't see anything right chief?' kinda look, as if to tell Celes that she should forget what she just saw. Of course, Mike was, as always, nearby to start circling about, watching so very closely as he circled around Dia in that beyond-void. Not that Celes would be able to see or sense him. Hidden just beyond the void, the Six-Meter long beast ready to intervene if a fight broke out.

For once it was so nice to just enjoy her break. Celes always seemed to be training whenever she can. Sometimes it became quite the chore, but to be good or even proficient at something, you had to keep trying at it. It's why Celes worked so much on her Zanjutsu. It was true that it was her most refined skill and Hakuda was by far the weakest. She was gonna practice it at some point. She just hoped that she could have one sharp blade above all else before she sharpened another skill to a razor-sharp edge.
Either way, Celes was enjoying her time in the cemetery. It was a good time to reflect on all that had happened. She had truly come a long way so far. Fighting Hollows, meeting and becoming almost something of a disciple of Shizuka which had to be kept a secret to just overall understanding more what it means to become a splendid Shinigami. She had a ways to go, but there is nothing she wouldn't do to reach her goal. To become stronger and to protect people she cared about. Strength like hers came at a cost sometimes, however.
As she began to reminisce about all of this, however, she felt as though something was off. Almost as though a disturbance had arisen in such a peaceful place. Maybe it was just a hunch, Celes truly wasn't sure. Celes often had these little daydreams, almost like trances in which she would think about her family and in some cases wish that things could've gone differently. But things were as they are now and she had to accept that. Before she even had the chance of entering another daydream, that's when she heard it.
Click! Click!
The Shinigami turned to where the noise was coming from and saw a woman. She certainly appeared to be younger. She had an interesting feeling about her. It was unlike anything Celes was familiar with. She did not feel like a Hollow nor looked like one. She certainly wasn't a Shinigami as she didn't dress like one. She truly had no idea who or even what she was. All she saw and heard was the gun that was now being pointed at her. Celes raised an eyebrow at this clear indication of hostility. Did she have a bone to pick with Celes?
It was then that Celes heard her speak. "Hahahah....well well well there stickydick. Kinda caught me with my pants down here." She certainly seemed to have an interesting vernacular. Not vulgar, but it wasn't formal either by any means. She was not sure what to make of this situation until she saw at her feet. It was an old man, clearly shot by this woman. Celes looked up almost in shock. Was she responsible for this? How could this chick have performed such a heinous act. Violence was one thing, but this almost seemed like an act of cold-blooded murder.
On top of all of this, it seemed that this girl had the audacity to try to explain herself and play Celes like a fool. "But I assure you, that this elderly man shot HIMSELF in the back of the head." This girl couldn't be serious. It was clearly some half-witted excuse she had made up thinking that Celes wouldn't pay enough attention to what she was saying. Well Celes certainly understood what this mean. Perhaps she would not get her break after all. With a sigh, she began to place her hand at her hip.
The young Shinigami maintained eye contact with the girl who not only showed malicious unprovoked intent, but also tried to lie her way out of this. Celes spoke with a scowl. "I can understand trying to shoot me. It's not something I'm not used to being a Shinigami and all, but how could you take the life of another person so casually and then turn your weapon on me when I've not done a thing to you...?" Celes was certainly livid. It is true that she was not above violence, but she also did not see the point in taking another life without reason.
Contrary to what some may be thinking, Celes question was not really a question at all. Or atleast not in the traditional sense, she turned her side a little to the girl and fired off a Byakurai without a sense of warning. This was now a matter of self-defense. Celes would fire the Byakurai straight at her to see if it would even have any effect. It seemed as though she normally did not have much luck with it. She was curious to see if this instance was much different. After firing it, she quickly drew her blade and took a careful stance, ready to handle anything visible, but she had no ability to account for what may be below the depths.
Technique Description and Effects: The user fires a concentrated, powerful lightning bolt from their finger that pierces a target.
How to use technique: Speak the spell and point hand at the target.
Incantation and Effect: "Arise god of thunder! Awake mother of storms! Unleash the lighting on the sinners!" When the incantation is spoken, the Reiatsu Strength used to determine the power of Byakurai is increased by 10%. (i.e. 100 Reiatsu Strength is treated as 110.)
Dia lifted a brow slightly at that. "Uh I mean, most people would wanna sh-" She JOLTED as she saw that finger going up. SHIT! She leapt to the side with her quicker reflexes, but she didn't avoid the bolt of lightning that popped her through the hip, skimming and burning it's way through her flesh as she attempted to dodge in time, failing at that. Dia herself dropped behind a tombstone, gritting her teeth and GRUNTING. "FUCK! Grhhhhhhhhhh!" She groaned out and clutched at that smoldering bit of her hip, immediately in pain. She had been way too close!
She huffed, Mike promptly informing her that the Shinigami hadn't moved. They were still about 20 feet away from her. Well within range, but she sure as shit wasn't going to risk being stuck where she was. "Sonofa fucking BITCH! I knew I shoulda learned that step nonsense." She growled to herself, calling out to the Shinigami. "OI! Listen up sugartits! Dunno the fuck you think you doin, but when I see a shinigami I don't usually ask questions. Kinda the deal when you guys wanna EXTERMINATE MY KIND!" She growled out over the tombstone. THANKFULLY thanks to her small stature, it would provide full cover. But that didn't mean that the shinigami wasn't gonna start moving. Mike himself hovered over Dia, ready to intervene if anything endangered his partner.
"I'm not great with speeches or whatever, but Yo." She popped her hand up for just a fraction of a second, long enough for Celes to see a big X tattood across her palm. The Sign of a Member of Xcution. The infamous Mercenary organization. If she'd met Shizuka, she'd probably be familiar with it. "Nothin personal tiddyqueen, just doin my job. Plus uh....well as luck would have it, my boss has a real boner for murdering Shinigami. So I ain't gonna lie, it'd probably look real nice in my report if I could Ice a shinigami ontop of my job." She noted with a sly smirk. An absolute lie. While Shizuka HATED shinigami, she didn't have any standing orders to kill them.
Nope, Dia just wanted to be able to bolt from the tombstone to better cover, to one of those big ass crypt things that were big as a shed. She wasn't sure what to do. this was one of those fuckin zappy soul reapers. She doubted she'd be able to get too close. Well, not without using Mike. And she really didn't wanna have to unleash. "Listen toots. But you should surrender. Drop down your Zanpaku'to, put your hands on your head, and say 'uncle'. You don't wanna mess with me~ I'm a fuckin LEGEND~ Baddest bitch this part of town. FOR THOUSANDS OF YEARS MY ANCESTORS HAVE DWELLED IN HELL AS FALLEN ANGELS! A PALTRY MORTAL LIKE YOU STANDS NO CHANCE!" She may have been exaggerating a little.
"IF you lay down your arms this instant I mayeth spare thee tiddy monster. So surely make your surrender known whilsteth my ....uh......wrath be not yet quivered unto full erection! And you won't like me when my wrath is fully erect!" She shouted over her cover, using Mike to keep an eye on the girl's general location, the big shark still ohovering overhead, wondering why on earth his partner was so fucking dramatic as she used the scouting shark to give her a heads up when she needed to move. Not that he could give very detiled instructions. Stupid lazy asshole. She needed to get him hooked on phonics or some shit.
All the while, she was looking through her stuff, trying to find bullets in her pockets, her pants, her little wallet. But honestly to no avail. WHY had she not saved more?! Clearly this was why all those damn losers in movies counted their bullets when they fired. Which admittedly was still super lame, but all the same it irritated her. This whole damn fiasco could have been over if she'd still had at least like.....one ....ok maybe three bullets left. She wasn't exactly the best shot, so chances were she probably would have missed at least once. BUT STILL! She'd be in a better position than she was now! And that's what was important. Now she was stuck trying to negotiate and intimidate this damn tits mcgee.

As the Byakurai was fired swiftly at Dia, Celes noted as the girl quickly reacted before the Byakurai was discharged. Too little too late, however, as the bolt of lightning streaked across her hip and Celes smirked a little. Seems that she was unprepared for Celes' sudden reaction. This told Celes that she atleast wasn't anything like that ridicuously powerful Hollow that she had met. She noticed that the Mod-Soul took cover behind the tombstone almost as if she were cowering before Celes. It was all rather amusing.
Celes kept her stance still and ready as she heard her opponent call out to her. "OI! Listen up sugartits! Dunno the fuck you think you doin, but when I see a shinigami I don't usually ask questions. Kinda the deal when you guys wanna EXTERMINATE MY KIND!" This chick had quite the vulgar mouth to her and Celes just shook her head in disbelief. Celes truly had little idea what she was talking about. She wasn't Hollow nor was she an Arrancar. Celes began to mull it over. She thought to herself. "Could it be?..."
As she became lost in thought, she heard the girl spout more nonsense. Atleast in Celes' eyes. "Nothin personal tiddyqueen, just doin my job. Plus uh....well as luck would have it, my boss has a real boner for murdering Shinigami. So I ain't gonna lie, it'd probably look real nice in my report if I could Ice a shinigami ontop of my job." Celes then noted her place her hand up. It was the shape of an X on her tatooed across the palm of her hand. It took her a moment, but she figured that this chick was a member of execution. Plus the memo checked out in terms of Shizuka's description.
Celes then heard a bit about her building herself up. Celes didn't get any evidence that she was able to crush her. Atleast not with the display of her not being able to dodge the Byakurai and in addition to this, she didn't just absolutely destroy her in the moment she had. Was she being toyed with? Celes truly was not sure and simply continued to listen. In the back of her mind she weighed her options. She seemed reasonable enough except for the little episode earlier with the weapon. Could they really just talk it out.
That when Celes heard the demand. "IF you lay down your arms this instant I mayeth spare thee tiddy monster. So surely make your surrender known whilsteth my ....uh......wrath be not yet quivered unto full erection! And you won't like me when my wrath is fully erect!" Celes' eyes fluttered a little bit and sighed. She kept her hand on her Zanpakutou, but her demeanor was a little different. It wasn't filled with the intent to kill or the intention to harm, only one of self defense. Celes chuckled and stood still.
The Shinigami would speak calmly. "Listen. You were the one who shot at me first. Whether there was a bullet in there or not is irrelevant. Quite frankly, I don't know what you are on about. Even if you are who you claim to be, I have no quarrel with you. I don't condemn others for their race outside a select few." Celes sighed and maintained her stance, but eased up a little. "I can't just surrender or drop my Zanpakutou, but if we can avoid pointless bloodshed, I would prefer that to. If you promise to come out without feeling the need to try and shoot me, I have no reason to be hostile towards you." Celes sighed and narrowed her eyes. It was true that she was willing to talk things out, but could this girl really be a sinner?
Ok so intimidation really didn't work. She glanced around that big crypt of a grave and narrowed her eyes a little at the shinigami, wondering about if they were going to shoot her again, talking about her coming out. Of course Dia would narrow her eyes a little and shout out from behind the crypt. "And how do I know you're not gonna just shoot me the moment I come out huh? You were pretty quick on the draw yourself!" She hissed out to them. And....despite her indignation, she did walk out, already on high alert, crouched slightly, ready to dodge like the little gremlin she was as she narrowed her eyes at them.
It was just a few steps to walk out and eye the woman from top to bottom. "Sorry but I dunno how we're gonna resolve this here little pickle. As much as I'd love to go have a little drink off to the side with a cutie like you. I can't ignore the fact that you fuckin shot me, AND WITH LIGHTNING?! Come on!" She yelled exasperatedly, gesturing to the bleeding scrape on her hip! She sighed, shaking her head and huffing.
"How about this. Rather than duke this out to the death, how about we just settle this with a wager? We fight NOT TO THE DEATH..... but just till one of us gives. Nonlethal. Nerf shit. you know how to dial back your reiatsu right? Just make it burn, not blow holes in people. We'll treat it like a game of laser tag~ first person to deal damage to the patch of skin over your heart. Or in your case, left upper tiddy." She gestured, reaching up and pointing to her own spot, before gesturing in Celes's direction.
"Or the head." She added, pointing up to her noggin, smiling a little as she then lowered her hand. "First person to leave a little burn on either of those spots wins. If I win, then you pretend you didn't see jack shit about the whole gunshot to the head, no putting it in your shinigami report, and you also have to buy me an xbox..... and you gotta answer my questions! If you win.....uhhh..." She furrowed her brows, rubbing her chin. Actually what DID this broad even want? She tried to think for several moments before waving it off.
"Well I'm sure you have something in mind. What do you want? I'm sure we can end this civily, like true nerf warriors. no need for ne of us to end up dead around here, capische?" She reasoned, feeling like she had a pretty good plan. After all ,this girl didn't SEEM like the kinda woman who would just flat out wait till they were both relaxed and then shoot her through the heart. Well, not that that woulds kill Dia anyway what with her pill in her lower navel.
Still, hopefully the girl would go along with this shit. They could easily have this whole thing de-escalate to some sort of degree. Not that Dia wasn't also prepared to fight if the girl refused, or if she tried to pull that 'well I could do that anyway' shit. She always hated those fucks who just gave shit for nothing. She didn't trust a shinigami who would just be out to placate her. No, that was the kinda talk of someone who planned on shooting her the moment that she had her back turned.

Celes kept looking over at the tombstone where the Dia was hiding. She still was waiting for an answer. In fact, Celes was assuming a relaxed position to not show any form of aggression. Fighting was something she enjoyed, it made her adrenaline rush so exquisite, but death was something she did not relish. She wished to fight to the point where bodies were broken, but killing someone was a task that she did not relish. It wasn't her desire to end life, but to watch it become better and flourish. Such was her philosophy.
She then overheard Dia. Her opponent was apparently complaining how Celes had made a move on her by shooting her with the Byakurai. It seemed that Dia thought Celes was out here to kill. The hado she had used was nothing more than a little test. Yes it was the only Kido that she knew, but Celes was not the type to focus on using Kido. She could learn it and study it, but using it was another story. It was the clashing of blades, the feeling of blood running down her body that gave her a want for more.
Celes was actively listening to her, but it a specific offer that caught her eye. Or in your case, left upper tiddy." This could prove to be interesting.
Celes proceeded to chuckle. She then exclaimed a little. "So what you are saying...you have no desire to truly fight to the death..?" Celes laughed a little more and mumbled to herself. "Marvelous." She placed her hand on her Zanpakutou's tsuka, slow unsheathing the blade. "Well if it all the same to you, would the use of my Zanpakutou be okay with you? I'm admittedly not very physically strong, but I would like to train my precision with it anyway. You would most likely be in no danger of actually suffering a fatal injury."
The Shinigami could not help, but smirk. If this girl was on her level, perhaps this would be a good time to train. Perhaps even look for a kindred spirit. One to train with. Celes then overheard a wager. Apparently the girl wanted her to forget about Dia attempting to shoot her. She also wanted an...Xbox? Celes tilted her head and thinking that she must be joking. When Dia offered Celes a wager of her own, the Shinigami admittedly had to think about it. She was not sure of what she wanted that did not involve becoming stronger.
Then an idea popped into Celes' head. She spoke calmly. "Well. If I win, I suppose I would like to have an occasional sparring partner. If according to your former words you truly did not seek to kill me and I return the sentiment, perhaps we could make this more lucrative for the both of us if I win. Hell, if I win and you keep up your end of the deal as a training partner, I may still buy you the Xbox." Celes chuckled. There was only one thing on her mind and that was to ever improve. It was her fighting spirit that allowed her to have the continuing perseverance.
Celes then began to study Dia. The burn that she had inflicted wasn't all that nasty, but it was a nice sear. Celes admittedly had to chuckle a little. The only weapons she knew of was the girls' guns. Even then when she tried to shoot her, it wasn't even loaded so Celes had to watch out as it could be that the Mod Soul would actually try to shoot her. Then again, she was a spiritual being. Could bullets even hurt her? Celes was not willing or hell even ready to find out. She began to think about her strategy.
As she was ruminating on what to do, Celes completely forgot about something. She hadn't even shared her name yet. Celes performed a quick bow to Dia, hoping she would not take advantage of it and retain a sense of honor. Celes then smiled. "Forgive my manners. I completely forgot to introduce myself to my opponent. My name is Celes Shindazu, Unseated Shinigami of Squad 11 of the Thirteen Court Guards. May you honor me by revealing your name to me?" Ultimately Celes wanted to share respect with her opponents. Else what would be the point of combat. If Dia would agree to the terms and reveal her name, Celes could begin this fight proper.
The Nakka lifted a brow slightly as she listened to the shinigami, her head canting slightly to the side as she took a few momentas to.... consider thew woman's words. She just wanted someone to hang out with? That sounded kinda....pathetic. She'd just blown some dude's brains out and she wanted to go get lunch with her and be her sparring partner? What a sad sad woman. What was even going on? Where shinigami really THIS lonely? She made a mental note to look into that.
"Uhhhh, sure Deal I guess." She murmured, honestly not even sure if she was telling the truth at this point. On the fence about hanging out with this desperate woman. Now that she thought about it, maybe those tiddies were fake. Considering how skinny the rest of her was, maybe she got them for attention. Ugh, and she'd almost fallen for it! Disgusting! She shook her head, and then blinked. Oh right, she asked her a question.
"Oh, right, my name is Dia." she chimed, tossing her hair dramatically and then gently pointing behind the shinigami. "And that would be Mike~" She chimed as from behind the shinigami, Mike suddenly manifested. Or at least his mouth and teeth did, suddenly spilling into reality, a massive disembodied shark mouth as it peeled out of space 2 meters away from the woman, barreling toward her and aiming to SLAM into her mid-back. Nowhere near the two 'victory' spots.
IF he managed to surprise her, Mike would chargewith her in his mouth. but she'd notice that there were.....no teeth in that mouth. Staying true to her word, Dia wasn't using lethal force, as the shark would aim to grab her and charge, intent on slamming her into that crypt to pin her against it, and probably knock the wind right out of her. Dia, of course, would duck behind a gravestone, just incase that little thunderbitch decided to try and take another potshot at her.

Celes eyed Dia carefully, simply thinking that the Mod Soul was ruminating. Celes wait for a bit until she heard Dia with a little bit of hesitation agree to the terms. The Shinigami proceeded to nod and bow. Despite being the combative type, she still want to display a sense of respect to her opponents. What good was a fight if you couldn't actually honor your foe. That being said, Celes still having her hand on the tsuka of her Zanpakutou and continuing to unsheathe it, piped up when she heard Dia.
The Mod Soul actually revealed her name, but there was more. After a rather dramatic hairflip, Celes heard from her what appeared to be a second name. "And that would be Mike~" Admittedly a little confused at first, Celes didn't realize that there was a disembodied maw of a shark appearing behind her. Without warning, it barreled into her. That alone was painful as hell, Celes actually gasping for air as the shark with that felt like much greater strength than her began to move towards what appeared to be a crypt. Celes' eyes widened at the thought of being crushed by this damn thing.
As it kept pushing her further and further, Celes thankfully had finished unsheathing her Zanpakutou. As soon as he had the chance, she tried to jump to the side, tucking and rolling with difficulty as she does not do this often. Having now risen to her feet although her back was a little sore from the damn shark, she gripped her Zanpakutou tightly knowing very well that the damn kid was still around. Last she saw of her, she ducked behind one of these tombstones and sighed. To create some distance the Shinigami suddenly disappeared, moving at a speed of 700 thanks to Shunpo.
Reappearing on the perimeter of the little makeshift battle area called a graveyard, Celes began to move around it at a cautious pace. She didn't even sense the shark behind her and as such tried to stay on her guard. Still sauntering along the perimeter, she kept a close eye out for the Mod Soul. Her senses were not sharpened so it was unlike for her to see her without getting an arial vantage point. As such, she continued to saunter along, her Zanpakutou in hand, waiting for a reaction from that brat or her shark. "Quite the friend you got there. Cheap shot..." as she continued to circle around the perimeter, looking for any sign of her.
There was nothing quite so satisfying as the look on the woman's face as they slammed clean into Mike's open maw. UNFORTUNATELY, for some reason Mike didn't seem to latch on like he was supposed to, so rather than pinning the shinigami, that little buttlicker suddenly zipped off in a blur of speed. Of course, she frowned, about to speak up when suddenly mike SURGED off in a direction. Where soon a voice called out. Dia had to keep low, running along as Mike obviously couldn't get too far from her, huffing just a little as she watched those jaws surging as the body beyond swam aggressively.
She was thankful that the shinigami didn't take long to speak out. It saved her a little time as Mike swooped her up. It took very little time for them to get close, Mike dropping Dia off behind a tombstone. As she herself looked around. "Alright Mikey, where is sh-" She whispered before she shark simply fucked off, racing around the corner and leaving her frowning just a little. "Oh no cool, that's fine, just fuckin fight without me..." She whisper-pouted.
Not moments later did Mike slide silently through the air, sweeping in around the headstones, following his sense of smell as he beelined in, swooping up high, and then SLAMMING down, intent on snatching the shinigami from above as the silent monster sought to catch her off guard, Dia soon speed-tiptoeing around to see the commotion. "OH! Well there you fuckin are.." she growled, speaking up only AFTER Mike had attacked. Even SHE wasn't dumb enough to give away his assault.
"And as for it being a cheap shot I don't wanna hear it from Ms.Lightning Fingers." She grumbled, keeping close to one of the headstones, clearly ready to bounce if the woman tried shooting at her again. "And jokes on you Diddlequeen, I'm still going easy on you~ I still haven't pulled my DA-DA-DA-DAVIL TRIGGER!" She announced with a grin, reaching back to the straps of her backpack that she'd been wearing this entire little fiasco. And.....her thingy got caught, causing her to struggle a little but.. ultimately...HA!
She grinned, tearing the backpack off and allowing her cursed sinner's limb to suddenly unfurl. One, massive white-feathered wing spreading out behind her, bound in chains, but still having a considerable majesty to it as it marked her as a fallen angel. Or well, in her case the child of one. Not that Celes needed to know that though. "Know that Mike is only a mere frrrrrraccion of my power. Consider yourself lucky that you have yet not stirred my wrath." She cooed with a grin. Of course as she finished speaking, that shark mouth would slither back into subspace, wether it had managed to pin Celes down or not.

Celes kept moving around the perimeter, trying to keep an eye on Dia and that damn shark. Unfortunately, she still had no idea where the damn thing was. She only knew it's general direction from where she last encountered it. This could potentially give her an idea of where it soul dstrike from. Regrettably, the companion was only a mouth and as such, it would be more difficult to notice instead of a whole shark. Celes just kept on her guard nonetheless, she was on the run from Mike and needed to get a solid hit in.
Naturally being a shark, Celes imagined that it had rows of teeth, but upon ruminating on it, she realized that it had never shown its teeth. Did this mean that Dia really did not have a killing intent? Well that was not as important as of current. It wasn't like she heard the Mod Soul talk and she didn't hear anything from the shark. This would certainly be annoying. As she continued to walk along, the Shinigami was a little caught off guard by the mouth that suddenly was above her, seemingly trying to slam her.
With resolve in her eyes, Celes executed a roll to the side, but her speed was certainly not the best as she was able to somewhat make it. As Mike slammed down, Celes would feel her leg be caught by the damn shark. Celes tried to struggle moving her leg, but it felt pinned under the mouth of this shark. Acting quickly, the Shinigami positioned her Zanpakutou towards the bottom of the mouth and quickly jabbed it in, slashing over to try and make Mike either reel in pain or let go. Regardless of what happened, Celes tried to pull her foot out again and if she suceeded, she would quickly try to flick her foot upwards, doing a pseudo backflip to get back onto her feet, a fighting stance ready.
It was then that Celes began to hear the bitch boast. "And jokes on you Diddlequeen, I'm still going easy on you~ I still haven't pulled my DA-DA-DA-DAVIL TRIGGER!" The Shinigami in earnest looked a little confused. She knew obviously that the Mod Soul used a gun, but she blinked at how ridiculous that sounded. With a chuckle she began to think, "What the hell is a devil trigger...?" It seems this was not even going to the most confusing part of her day. It would seem that Dia's former comment about being a fallen angel would make sense.
As Celes looked at Dia who would apparently unveil herself, she heard something drop as Celes could not help, but be at a loss for words for what she saw next. The girl seemed to show off a wing. It was a large, yet beautul white wing that was...bound by chains? Celes had heard stories of these chains from Venus, but it couldn't be? Could this chick really be a sinner? Celes discared the thought. Hopefully her questions would be answered later, but currently she had bigger problems on her hands.
The young Shinigami audibly chuckled at Dia to try and get her riled up. "That's a cute little trick you got there. What did you get it from an anime convention?" Perhaps if she could get her a little heated, Celes thought that she may withdraw Mike and try to toy with the Shinigmai herself. Before Celes could even get the idea of firing off a Kido at the Mod Soul, it seemed as though she had already ducked for cover. All that she could was that Mike recoiled from her Zanpakutou or that Dia placed even an iota of pride into her heritage and ability.
Dia grinned as she watched Celes suddenly slamming into the ground, a very satisfied demon was she as she watched her being pinned down, satisfied to see the shinigami struggling against Mike! HUZZAH! At last she could feel the tenative sensations of victory in her mortal form, the pride she had suddenly welling up as she peeked out just a bit more, sstill cowering near the nearby stone as she still neglected to forget the pain of that fucking kido.
Of course, the plan was a sound one, when Celes suddenly turned her weapon onto the shark's mouth. But she didn't quite properly estimate the nature of her opponent. Had Mike simply been a beastly, feral shark bent on ripping in. Well, for one she would already be dying. But also that blade to the jaw may have actually worked. But the moment that she rasied her blade, quick as a whip, at point-blank range, Mike released her, turned as their mouth shifted back into the ether for just a moment, avoiding the slide of that blade pulling back, just one meter from the woman before suddenly spilling back into reality and SNAPPED onto her forearm, bicep, and wrist in a sudden lunge.
Even without his teeth, the sheer force of that biting pressure was enough to make her body creak with that sudden snap, Mike's superior instincts and speed making it all too easy to catch the woman mid-stab and to clamp onto her arm, without that weapon even digging in, squeezing down with slowly building pressure, intent on either getting Celes to drop her weapon, ot to just outright squeeze until she no longer had the ability to hold it anymore, if it actually succeeded, but it's intent on evading that stab would still be simple enough to succeed in.
Not that that would stop the shinigami from making snide comments. To which Dia would simply smile proudly. "That's some mighty talk coming from someone within faceslapping range, shiniweenie." She retored calmly enough, grinning from ear to ear, growing a bit more bold as she stepped out into the open, rolling her shoulders just a little as she promptly opened her hand.
In the moment, there was a sudden blistering crackle of heat, the air rippling at her hand as she made a blade of pure fure in her palm. Of course she frowned, turning down the heat so that it wouldn't be lethal. A full 12 inches of burning dagger projected from the center of her palm. "Now, just hold nice and still, and I'll finish this little spar right here and now." She chimed with a grin, slowly approaching as she moved in, cautiously keeping an eye on those hands, prepping herself for any sudden Kido attacks as she moved in.
{Mod Root, Burning Blade Class 7} Technique Name:Technique Name: Moddo Toge, Nensho Ha (Mod Root, Burning Blade)
Class: 7-1
Technique Type: Kigen Tech
Usable By: Mod Souls
Technique Element: Fire/Air
Technique Description and Effects: This technique utilizes the manipulation of air in order to create an offensive attack for the mod soul to use. By extending their roots into the air outside of their body, they can rapidly compress and twist the air in a confined space, creating a large amount of friction. At base, this technique creates blades of heated air which can be used for combat, though the uses for this technique are quite diverse. Limited to the user's speed for blade movement.
At learned, this ability allows the user to create heated air currents in the shape of a blade. These blades do not have a direct damaging fire to them, but instead cause damage by sheer heat, causing objects that come in contact with the 'blades' to melt, burn, ect. Rather than blades, these areas can be considered zones of heat, and are much less visible than the version at proficient and mastered. At Proficient and Mastered, this technique can be used to ignite the air from the friction, creating blades of fire which can burn and even cut through objects i addition to simple heating. The Learned version of this technique is still useable at higher levels.
At class 7 this technique is fairly limited. With the ability creating small knife-sized blades up to 12 inches in length. These are generally not incredibly useful against longer range weapons but they serve their purpose. Blades can only be up to three inches in width. At class 6 this technique can create blades up to a meter in length and up to a foot in width. At class 5 this technique can generate blades up to 2 meters in length and up to a foot in width. At class 4 this technique can generate blades up to 4 meters in length and up to a meter in width. At class 3 this technique can generate blades up to 8 meters in length and up to 2 meters in width. At class 2 this technique can generate blades up to 16 meters in length and up to 4 meters in width. At class 1 this technique can generate blades up to 32 meters in length and up to 8 meters in width.
How to use technique (How is it activated?): See above
Technique Drawbacks (Limitations, repercussions for use, etc) Costs 100 reiatsu (+25 reiatsu per class (275 reiatsu at class 1) to generate up to four blades. Blades last 8 posts. As with any Mod Root technique, this ability causes extensions of the user's body instead of pure reiatsu, meaning that the space inside of the blades are considered a part of the mod soul's body, making them vulnerable to contact-based hazards (Example: Poisons can spread through these roots) Blades can be generated from any part of the users body.

It seemed as though her plan had worked at first. As Celes made the action to stab Mike, looking to get him off her, Celes seemed to not realize one thing. This shark was not only ferocious, but clevel and had clever instincts to seemingly help it catch its prey. This especially caught Celes off guard as when she stabbed, the shark whipped away from her and dissapeared. Almost feeling as though she was in the clear, Celes face went blue as that damn shark still didn't bite into her, but tried to crush her arm.
The Shinigami exclaimed, not necesarilly in pain, but she was clearly discomforted. One thing was for sure. Mike certainly was a force to be wreckoned with and Celes was wrong to underestimate not only this girl, but her companion. Unfortunately it seemed that no matter what, she was at the mercy of this shark. Her mind was racing. This was unlike anything she had faced before. A shark that could just disappear and reappear out of nowhere along with an angel? It was maddening. Celes tried to calm herself down.
Shortly before this all even went down, Celes had a good look at what Dia was doing. The bitch was gloating...again. Celes wondered if this was gonna be a regular thing for her. Even if she won, this training partner idea may not pan out too well if she keeps going on and on about how strong she is. Overall, Celes would think this over no matter who actually won, but it seemed as though Dia wanted nothing to do with her after this if she could avoid. Maybe it was for the best, but a sparring partner was something Celes felt was important.
The Shinigami tried to look at the situation rationally. The shark was clamped on her elbow and most of her forearm, trying to squeeze it to such a point where Celes could not move it, let alone hold her weapon. This was troublesome alone. She could try to break her hand, but not only would the movement be unfeasible in her current condition of being slapped around by this shark, it was exactly what Mike was trying to do anyway so Celes would not give Dia that advantage of losing an arm. Besides, it wasn't even guaranteed that she could release her arm.
The last thing that came to mind was that Celes could use another Byakurai. This move was gonna be a little sneakier as she dropped her hand that wasn't clamped to the floor. She hated to try to be facetious like this, but she had little other choice. She did not have the strength to break free, the power to really cut Mike nor the reflexes to avoid Mike, let alone both of them. Celes did not waste any time and just looked at the Mod Soul as if she were giving up this fight. Celes then heard her speak. "Now, just hold nice and still, and I'll finish this little spar right here and now."
After hearing this Celes elevated her finger ever so slightly and without as much as a whisper, a Byakurai firmly formed and discharged from her fingertip. Granted, the elevation and the position of her hand made it more difficult to aim along with being somewhat inaccurate. If the Mod Soul was paying attention to even the most subtle of movements, she could see this coming. If this was not successful and did not hit the victory condition or she just outright dodged, the young Shinigami would be at her mercy and really she would lose.
Dia honestly was just having fun. It wasn't often she got to have a fight where she was literally just trying to kill someone, so as she closed in on the struggling damsel in distress she hummed happily. Of course, she herself didn't even notice that Celes was sneakily lowering her hand, completely oblivious to the little finger that suddenly pointed up, threatening her soft squishy mod soul body. But of course, Mike did.
With a VICIOUS shake of his head he SLAMMED Celes into the ground by the grip he had on her arm, swinging her up into the air and then SLAMMING her back into the ground again and again, beating her with the grass as suddenly Dia blinked, shock written across her face as the byakurai went wild, firing off into the air as Mike promptly punished the shinigami for her attempt on his master.
Dia actually found herself sweating just a little as she watched the savagery, rubbing the back of her neck with her free hand before Mike finally subsided, ONLY Stopping when Celes no longer made any funny movements, at which point Dia would close in on the woman and snort just a bit, whistling a bit appreciatively. "Whew, Not usual that Mike goes that ham hahah. Good thing he did I guess, or I'da lost." She admitted with a big sheepish goofy grin.
But all the same, she'd reach down and gently cradle the Shinigami's head, pulling her in close and smiling roguishly as she reached up with that blade, and then ....boop. She tapped it against Celes's cheek. Only surprisingly, that fire wouldn't even hurt. Dia had turned her RS down so much that there was nothing but a gentle warm pressure against the Shinigami's face. Assuming she stood still, of course, and didn't earn herself another Mike beating.
IF she managed that little tap, she'd break out into a bright smile and give the Shinigami a squeeze. "Aaaaaand that's how it's done! Bazinga!" She chimed, laughing uproariously as she would promptly lunge and hug the shinigami, clearly enjoying this little non-deathmatch. "You're not half bad Shinigami. I half expected you to just straight up try and shoot me in the head the first chance you got at full strength. But you kept your word~ So I guess you must be alright... for now." She hummed, Mike promptly vanishing back into the void as Dia would aim to help the girl back up to her feet.
