While normally Wycliff wouldn’t volunteer to go to the human word to do routine surveillance of Karakura town, today was different. He had been stuck behind a desk for far too long given that their wonderful captain had decided to go on a vacation without telling anyone, and without a named vice captain all the responsibilities fell to him, which meant that he had to deal with one of the things he hated, paperwork. So when there was a change in rotation of the shingami protecting Karakura town Wycliff jumped at the offer knowing that he would be able to escape and actually goof off and enjoy the day, after all it was a sunny day and there were plenty of fun things to do when it was this nice out. Yet the fact he was on patrol was how Wycliff ended up in the town infamous for all the spiritual beings who lived there.
Wycliff wasn’t a fool he knew exactly why other shingami didn’t like Karakura town, this place was filled with people who could see shingami and had powers. While he wasn’t exactly sure as to how many folks actually lived here that could do so he did know that there was a massive building in the business district of Karakura that gave off spiritual energy. So much spiritual energy that it was easy to tell that there were plenty of spiritually aware humans there. That place wasn’t his concern today, or any day really he didn’t care what people did as long as they didn’t interrupt his day and they weren’t causing a scene. So far those that belonged to that organization were rather well behaved say for a few occasions, but then again, he was responsible for one of them, so he couldn’t hold that against them.
No he was informed that he had to do a normal patrol today, however this being Wycliff he didn’t’ want to actually do the work. He had a plan to avoid doing any of it, after all given the current shape of the Gotei no one was actually watching, so his plan was just hopping into a gigai that he had and heading to enjoy the town, which after the gate closed he did so, he was in luck that the gigai he had actually had clothing, oh he had made that mistake before and ended up having to run across a town stark naked and without any cash to get a new set of threads. That in and of it’s self was a fun and wild day, he did get a lot of stares though, someone of them were rather flattering. Still today wouldn’t be a repeat of that day, he had his own clothing and a plan to enjoy the day.
He had a goal and that was to relax in the park and in his gigai that would be a simple thing to do. With a pair of simple black slacks and a white shirt he headed towards where he remembered the park was in this town. Now his memory of that place could be totally off, but then again if it was he would simply ask, it’s not like there was the possibility that he would run into someone crazy today right? “Ya know this day is going to turn out alright.” Wycliff mused to himself as he walked. I doubt that, you have a habit of drawing those wild ones towards you. Almost as if they’re craving something, craving someone. Let them embrace your snow. Those last words echoed in the back of his mind and a chill fell down his spine, stopping the shingami in place for a moment.
Even with the forced paperwork he had been made to do these past few days he could tell something was up with his partner. Chukudo had become more cynical and distant, cold even. Something was going on with his zan and he knew it wasn’t normal. This was odd given that before this he had thought the two of them were starting to get on the same page. Even now before he had slipped into his gigai he had felt that his blade was cold to the touch, not that the metal was cool no it felt frozen and stung a bit as he picked it up. Still that was an issue to deal with another day today he was going to have fun in the park, or at least that’s where he thought he was heading to. Without even realizing it Wycliff had continued moving and accidentally bumped into someone in front of a sweets shop. “Oh sorry there.. ya not hurt are ya?” He said looking at the female that he had unintentionally bumped into .
