A faint light quickly spread through the rampant darkness. Each burst of light died as quickly as it was born. Within the endless void, trails of light made their way to an unknown location. Each a foothold and a path created for travel. With a near methodical pacing, Shikitsuhiko traversed the shadows alone. His thoughts were organized and his attention finely calibrated. Glimpses of the past were isolated by his mind's eye, seeing and hearing Sonken Kouhai. "Retrieve him." The words echoed in his mind as he contemplated the task before him.
Carving through the very fabric of reality, a garganta splintered across the air. Like delicate stitching, it was torn apart and pried open by an unknown force. This gaping wound, filled with nothing but blackness, grotesquely decorated the air. From within the blackness stood a vaguely familiar form. Shikitsuhiko waited patiently for the garganta to widen, peering into the Soul Society. He casually exited the garganta, audaciously stepping onto enemy territory. While he possessed no apparent fear, he was largely aware of the dangers. He was fortunate to have been aided by the genius that was Sonken Kouhai, which enabled his presence to be obscured for a short while. After that, all bets were off.
As the doorway neatly closed behind him, he remained frozen in place. Resembling a statue, his body remained still as his senses reached into his environment. His mind seemed to sift through the sensory data, determining his next course of action as well as getting a sense for his surroundings. It appears cloaking his presence threw off the coordinates. He would need to make his way to the proper location, though he was uncertain what he could expect. How much resistance would there be? How skilled would they be? Certainly there would be need to be a particular caliber of warrior present while transporting such a potential dangerous target.
Shikisuhiko abruptly bolted toward the desired location, the cloak obscuring his visage flapping in the wind. He would make it to an oddly place path of forest, leaping into the trees to avoid interacting with anyone. He remained still, sensing his surrounds. The vibrations in the air, int he ground, among the trees. He inhaled deeply, becoming more familiar with his surroundings. Suddenly he made an audible noise. "Hmm." He muttered, acknowledging something of interest. "Precisely where he said they would be." He noted. This didn't shock him. Kouhai was knowledgeable on such matters.
A number of Shinigami seemed to congregate around this open space int he middle of the forest. And to his surprise, a door opening from the ground, revealing a pair of stairs. Shikitsuhiko launched the trees, appearing behind the Shinigami. He swiftly decapitated each of them with his blade, resheating it as quickly as he had unsheathed it. He began to descend the stairs, carefully listening to his surroundings. He arrived to a nearly empty room, though he could tell there was corridors leading in separate directions.
Shikitsuhiko came upon a band of Shinigami, each of which were preoccupied by the food and drink they were piling in their faces. Nearby, confined within a most peculiar holding device, was Kazuna. It appears they spared no expense in creating a cage fitting to hold an Arrancar of Kazuna's caliber. Then again, Shikitsuhiko was unimpressed by his current predicament. This certainly weighed heavily on his so-called caliber. This technology was somewhat familiar. Its purpose was to prevent him from using his abilities and evidently he wasn't strong enough to pry his way out.
Shikitsuhiko slowly moved down the long corridor, possessing little concern for those who stood guard. What was this place? Why was it so distant from the Seireitei? He wondered where the other locations led, but was grateful his target was so conveniently located. He must have just arrived, otherwise he would be buried within this likely expansive underground facility. As he neared, one of the men took notice and jumped to his feet, causing the others to follow. "Hey! You are unauthorized to be here. Identify yourself!" The man shouted boldly, his cup of tea still in his right hand.
Shikitsuhiko stopped, which seemed to calm the nervous energy building among the men. Perhaps Shikitsuhiko was just a harmless worker who wandered off his path. A strange, harmless facility employee. Shikitsuhiko raised his hand and without warning a bala rocketed from his hand with immense speed. It struck the man in the face, causing his head to explode. His headless body remained tall for a moment, though his fingers slowly loosened causing the cup to fall to the ground. The cup struck the floor, making a clinking sound that shattered the deafening silence. The man's body slumped to the right and collapsed, the others immediately drawing their blades and fanning out.
"You should have been more proactive." He said coldly as he released the cord on his cape. He revealed himself as an Arrancar, appearing not the least bit threatened by the men. "I expected something more elite to be accompanying this cargo. The stupidity of Shinigami never ceases to amaze me." He turned his attention to the nearby cage, though he could only hear the faint humming coming from the metal itself. How odd. "If you can hear me, I suggest you crouch." He waited for a second before quickly unsheating his blade and slamming it into the side of its hull. He then circled it quickly, tearing away its top half like a can opener. As he circled the structure one of the Shinigami release his Shikai and darted toward him with a spear-like weapon.
The spear-like weapon slammed into his torso and began to spin like a drill. Shikitsuhiko released grip of his blade, leaving it within the metal of the cage, and grabbed the spear. He lifted it to reveal that no damage had been dealt. "Do you know nothing of Arrancar?" He asked with contempt in his tone. He pressed his other hand into the man's stomach and release a bala, decimating his torso. Blood splattered across covered the ceiling and walls as the body fell to the ground. He grabbed his blade and finishing cutting into the cage. The lid slid off at an angle. "I suppose I should deal with you three, too."
