Old french fries tasted awfully rubbery. Maybe, he wondered, he should have not refridgerated them? Either way, he just continued to chew on the old snack, without even any ketchup! The boy couldn't help but stare around the area. His parents were out again, and his brother was upstairs doing his homework. Really, he should be doing something that was useful, too! Maybe he should be cleaning the dishes, or maybe he should be doing something else like cleaning the room.
Perhaps he could mow the lawn? There were so many things that the teenager could be doing, but he was unsure of every single thing. They told him he was a tad different from Isaac, his twin brother. Apparently, he was supposed to be going to a special school, where special people went. However, he didn't want to leave Isaac, so he decided not to go to that special, special school.
His thoughts were burst when a fly fluttered on towards the plate of old french fries. Staring, wide eye'd, at the creature, he leaned in close. This, of course, caused the insect to fly back away. Pouting quietly, he began to stand and try to follow after it, even running after it. After all, the boy was curious as to where it was trying to head to.
He was a curious type, always wanting to be able to understand what was going on. Either way, he watched as the fly bumped and thudded against the door, as if trying to fly through it. Frowning, the boy moved to then open up the door, allowing the insect right out. Smiling, he stumbled on out after it. Insects were always so interesting to him! Letting out a happy hum, he continued to stumble and hurry after the insect, though it was becoming harder and harder to see.
He never saw the bus coming.

-Appearance-
FC: Black Sig from Puyo Puyo
Played by: Sarah54321
Height/Weight: 5'5"/132 lbs
Physical Description:
Isaiah is relatively normal when it comes to appearances. Granted, he also has a few quirks that make him stand out. Starting off, he has a fairly average build. Slim, perhaps, would be a good description of it. No real muscle is visible on his body, but he looks pretty healthy aside from that. Normally what he wears is either his uniform, or, if allowed, he will wear something much more comfortable. A t-shirt, shorts, and tennis shoes come to his mind. Even during cooler seasons, he prefers these clothes instead of warmer, more restricting ones. His stature is not one to make note of, and his stance is usually rather lax.
Due to his youthful appearance, Isaiah has no facial hair to really speak of. His skin is smooth and tanned, making him seem quite well-off in the health department. It's obvious he does his best to keep himself well. His hair is raven-colored; its locks being rather straight for the most part, though, some parts of it stick out for one reason or another, giving him an almost goofy appearance to add to it. He doesn't really take care of it as much as he takes care of other things, causing it to look a bit wild or even quite messy at times.
Possibly the one thing that stands out about the youth are his eyes. One eye is deep blue, similar to an ocean wave. However, the other one is deep red, like blood on white snow. Heterachromia is obvious in this boy, and he doesn't bother to hide it whatsoever. These eyes often have a curious gaze to them, as if they're always willing to learn. Often times, one can see them gazing side to side, trying to gain as much information as possible. One could even say they looked rather innocent.
Overall, his facial features are also nothing to speak of. A round face, an average nose, he looks to still have baby fat on him. Puberty hasn't hit this one quite yet, it seems. Either way, his plump cheeks are often dusted with a darker color, perhaps because he's always moving around and active when he can be. Of course, being like that, he also gets quite sweaty and dirty at times. He'll wash when neccesary, however, and tries to do a good job with it. Sometimes, too much of a good job. Sometimes, he will have scabs that are caused by himself from scratching at himself or scrubbing too hard!

-Personality-
Color Choice: #8178ba
Dislikes:
Loneliness:"Please don't leave me alone." - While not specifically afraid of being alone, Isaiah finds it very uncomfortable. He craves the company of anyone and anything, from a person, an enemy, or even an animal. He doesn't mind what it is, who it is, he just doesn't want to be alone because otherwise he feels like he'll pop out of existence. That would be a shame.
Long Discussions:"-Uh? Uhm... What? Sorry." - This shinigami doesn't have the best attention-span in the world. Long discussions bore him, and his mind begins to wander into places unseen. Whether or not he comes out of them depends on how serious the discussion is, but it's likely that if it lasts more than an hour, he'll be dozing in his place or have wandered off to do something of better interests.
Being Yelled At:"Er- I'm sorry... I'm sorry!" - He gets sad when he's yelled at, because he believes that he's done something wrong and can't think of a way to fix it. When someone yells at him, he retreats into a corner of low self-esteem and regrets, what ifs on how to have avoided this sort of situation entirely. He doesn't react well, especially when it's someone he actually looks up to.
Loud Noises:"Please- Quiet! Quiet quiet-" - When it comes to loud noises, nothing gives this guy a bigger headache than those that decide to be noisy. Whether it be loud music, someone screaming, or too big of crowds that make the roars of an ocean seem quiet, he'll very much dislike it until he has fixed this problem or someone decides to fix it for him. Of course, he can handle it, he just has headaches quite often.
Not Understanding:"I...I don't get it. I don't get it!" - Isaiah likes being able to realize what's going on. He likes being able to know what he's looking at. When something comes out as a puzzle, or as something completely unknown, he either panics or just gets frustrated at it. After all, what use is he if he can't find out this sort of stuff? He'll do his best to understand something if he doesn't already.
Likes:
Insects:"This one's green, and then this one's red... Hehe!" - Isaiah absolutely loves insects. They're small, but ever so strong. They're also very smart! He admires them, and even if something bites him or harms him, he doesn't really mind the pain. He knows that they're just doing stuff to protect themselves. If he sees an insect in trouble, he'll often, if he's not busy, do his best to help it out in any way he can.
Reading:"This little piggy went oink oink oink!" - Isaiah's capabilities when it comes to reading aren't anything special. He simply loves to read. There's not much to it other than the fact that he has a strange draw to children's novels. It's not because they're easy to read. He's way past that level. They simply bring about nostalgia that he doesn't quite understand himself.
Eating:"Whaph you shay? Gulp... Sorry!" - Eating is simply an enjoyable pass time that Isaiah has. While it's not neccesary to live, it certainly is a wonderful luxury when he can. He especially loves sour foods, like lemons or lemon candy. It makes his mouth pucker, and he enjoys the sensation.
Fresh Air:"Ahhh... It's nice!" - He's a person that enjoys a good walk once in awhile. If it's somewhere with smog or something similar, he'll detest it rather than enjoy it. However, when it's nince and fresh, and the mornings are just right, he will happily breathe in the fresh breeze and just relax, closing his eyes and counting as time goes on by. There's nothing like the wonderful feeling of being alive (again).
Learning:"Oh oh! Tell me about that!" - Always wanting to learn, Isaiah could almost be called a scholar when it comes to trying to understand and memorise things. With the thought that, with knowledge came power, he does his best to find out things as quickly and efficiently as possible. He won't rush if there's a problem that he has to figure out. However, he will do his best to learn as much as he can in a span of time if he's on a time limit.
Companionship:"We're friends, Uhhu!" - He's rather dependant on people, actually. Otherwise, he has no idea what he would do. These people are the ones that make him feel like he exists. Even if someone seems to dislike him, he'll try to treat them the same as any other person. It takes some time for him to actually dislike someone, actually.
Flaws:
Stubborn:"No! We're going this way!" - He's almost childish with wanting to get what he wants. While, eventually, he will relent, it takes some time for that to happen. Time is precious, and if any of it is wasted for him, he'll simply get angrier. Suffice to say, once his mind is set on something, it's going to take quite a bit to fix that mindset.
Naive:"We can do this, right? It's okay, right?" - Not to say he's dumb, but he believes that things will work out alright, no matter what the situation is. When things seem eerily quiet to others, he'll simply think it's a nice, comforting silence. This flaw makes his learning a little useless at first. Knowledge is one thing, being wise is a total opposite.
Acts Before Thinking:"...!" - He tends to not think before doing something. This often results in things such as him accidentally insulting another person, or even him making a terrible mistake and learning only moments later that it's going to cost him something big. He just can't understand when to filter his thoughts into his actions first, then make a move.
Distracted:"Uhh... Oh! Look, a bee!" Isaiah is capable of focusing on something should it be very interesting or very important, but otherwise, he tends to be quite scatterbrained. Things are so fascinating to the guy that he often can't concentrate on just one, and he wants to multi-task all the time if he can. Split attention, however, can be deadly in the wrong situations.
Habits:
Learning:"Uhhu, and this part goes here, can you tell me where else?" - As said before, the Shinigami loves to learn, and he loves to understand. When he's not busy, it's not too hard to find him either trainng or practicing something he's recently learned. If it's not that, then he's got his head in some books or being taught by others. Really, any mode of learning is good enough for him.
Writing:"Scribble scribble scribble..." - When it comes to writing things, he will write anything that comes to mind. He keeps a journal, for instance. Also, he's written several stories, mostly short stories, on many different things. Sometimes, he write poems or songs. Other times, he'll simply write about a topic he really loves. Notebooks upon Notebooks are filled out by this guy.
People Watching:"She has pretty hair." - Perhaps a bit creepy, but, because he enjoys being around people so much, he tends to like watching them, too. Getting to understand a person, while he's not the best at it, he likes to do so. He won't stalk anyone, of course. The guy'll just sit there and stare with those wide, curious eyes of his and smile if one looks at him.
Fears:
Abandonment:"D-don't leave me... Don't." - While being alone is one thing that he dislikes, being purposefully left behind is something he absolutely fears. If people willingly abandon him, then why should he exist at all? If he's that despicable, why should he be here? The thoughts that are like this go through his head, and he'll outright panic, wondering what he's doing if he's not meant to truly be. This is his biggest fear, and as such, if someone does end up leaving him without giving a good reason? He will promptly curl up into a ball and end up bawling his eyes out.
Failure:"I...I didn't mean to!" - Connecting to Abandonment, he's afraid of failing someone or something. If he does, then what's the chance that someone could be too hurt to even stay with him? The idea that he could fail something, and everyone would decide to leave him because of it, he hates that fact, and it scares him even more so that it feels like a real thing that could happen to him.
The Unknown"I don't know. I... I don't know!" The difference between this and simple lack of understanding is that he despises the latter, the first he's quite fearful of. When he's met with an uncertain fate, he will panic internally. What is it about the unknown that scares him, exactly? He doesn't know himself. However, the fine line between this and his insatiable want for learning is the fact that this cannot be learned. The Unknown is something that he does NOT want to know about. He wants it to stay far, far away from him.
Goals:
Self Improvement:"I'll get better!" - His one goal, his main goal. Learning and Befriending others, it's all to make sure no one leaves him. He'll become strong; he'll become wise. He will do anything to make sure that he's not left completely alone. He wants to make sure that he has a purpose in this world, so he will do what he can to improve himself in more ways than one. Personality, Wisdom, Physically, all of these things, he will do it all.
Alignment: Neutral Good
Overall Personality:
Isaiah is a good boy. That would be what someone might say to a person that doesn't know him. He'll do his best to impress others. The Shinigami wears his heart on his sleeve, and he's very honest, even when it's not needed, or not wanted. His view on the world stems from the idea that anyone, even those that are evil, are capable of being reborn and renewed into something 'good'. A Naive outlook, perhaps, but one that's stuck to his mind even after his original death. No matter what, if he thinks someone can be redeemed, he will do his best to make sure that it happens. If it's someone close to him, perhaps he'd even die for it.
Loyal, is what another might describe him as. He's someone that tends to do what others want, so long as he trusts them. While not exactly a tool, he likes to make others happy. Betrayal is something that he doesn't understand. Why would he turn his back upon someone that tried to be his friend? Such a thing disgusts him, and he'll feel sad for anyone that's had to gone through such a traumatic event. If it's one thing about his loyalty, it's that even if someone supposedly betrays him, if he still trusts them, he'll do his best to make sure that they turn out to be alright. Everyone has someone they can put their loyalty in, right? So why change that?
Perhaps he's a bit silly, as well. Isaiah will do his best to make people smile, even if it's making fun of himself. While his self-esteem isn't horrible, he certainly puts others above himself. When it comes down to the bone, he'll gladly give himself up if it means that others will be happy. This includes if a sacrifice must be made, of any kind. Is there a group of sad people that need cheering up? He'll do what he can to make sure they end the day with at least a small smile set upon their faces. The guy loves to be able to make other people happy, so it's one of his goals to improve himself on.
The boy is surprisingly observant for someone so naive. Despite this, he doesn't exactly know what to do with that knowledge that he knows. If he sees someone being robbed covertly, he'll simply tuck that information away, without knowing that something bad ever happened. Obviously, if something very blatant, like a murder, happens nearby, he will do something about it. However, things that are covert or simply vague will fly over his head, most likely. He's still trying to work on this, and at times he'll even get irritated over his failure to understand such 'simple' things as this. However, eventually he will calm, and the process will start all over again.
In a dangerous situation, he will try to solve things as peacefully as possible. It's only when it's inevitable that battle will happen, that he drops all pretenses and prepares himself for a fight. It's not that he hates fighting, it's that he thinks that it's unneeded at times. Why fight, when talking could solve things instead?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Powers-
Fighting Style:
Isaiah prefers being fast and running away after attacking, instead of staying for the opponent to hit him. One might call it cowardly, he calls it efficient! When zooming around as fast as he can, he'll take the time that he has to try and study the opponent. When he thinks that he's got whatever moves they have down, he'll move in for a strike. If things end up turning out grim, he'll do his best to retreat. This, however, is only if he is alone and with no allies.
When with allies, he is instead more of a support person. He'll stay back so as not to get into another person's way, but his eyes will stay peeled. If he finds a weak point while the others are too busy, he will point it out. Almost like a strategist, he will dodge around as per usual, but strike from him are more rare when he's with a team. After all, too many cooks, spoil the pot of soup.
If, at any time, the group he's with begins to lose, he will try to rescue the operation. If, by chance, the allies with him are in danger, he will throw himself out there and try to get them away from said danger, even at the cost of himself. He's reckless when it comes to his comrades, and he will do anything in his power to keep them safe. If he can save even one person, then he feels he's done a good job.
Isaiah prefers not to go in for the kill unless ordered to. If he is not, he'll do his best to do non-lethal blows. Death and more death are unneeded to him, unless it is for the sake of helping another out, such as purifying a hollow for instance. That said, he is not against disabling someone or crippling them. He does not exactly play fair, and is not the type for honor in a fight. He learned that such would probably get him killed, and thus he fights at 100% near all the time unless it's specifically said that he should take it easy.
Zanpakutou Spirit Appearance(Optional):
The spirit within Isaiah's Zanpakutou takes the form of his twin brother, Isaac. With fairer skin and lighter hair, he looks as he did before Isaiah died and never saw him again. Often times, the spirit will have a stern look on his face. However, when he loosens up, he actually looks quite innocent.
Like Isaiah, the spirit has heterachromia. Perhaps unlike him, the eyes almost seem to shine with power. Due to Isaiah being more reiatsu based than physically powerful, perhaps?
Unlike Isaiah, Isuru is a very stern person. He'll command and scold anything Isaiah does that seems out of line or quite foolish. However, he very much cares for Isaiah, and it's to the point that he seems quite worried.
Inner World(Optional):
A world of Autumn trees and Spring flowers, the inner world of Isaiah is a very innocent and calm place. Far as the eye can see, there are fields of nature and shrubbery all around. Insects such as bees and butterflies flutter around the area, and the sound of rushing water could even be heard. Playground equipment and simply places to sit and rest are also visible and very much there. Trees one can climb, lakes that a person can swim in, all of it exists in this world. No such place existed for Isaiah in the real world. However, his dreams were ever so vivid. Perhaps they are what gave birth to this wonderful place.
Zanpakutou Appearances:
Sealed - Isaiah's zanpakutou is in the shape of a tantou. It's befitting more of a dagger or knife more than an actual sword. It doesn't seem to be anything interesting, as far as uniqueness goes. A small inscription written in English upon its hilt reads 'Not all is Lost'. The sheath itself is black, simply made out of wood and smoothened out. It fits well, and seems to be well taken care of to boot.
Shikai - Isuru takes the form of claws in its Shikai form. Connecting to Isaiah's hands like gauntlets, the claws themselves are silver-colored, as if like steel or platinum. The gauntlet part is a dark blue, with a blue gem embedded on each knuckle. All it takes is for Isaiah to ask Isuru to help, and the blue light will envelope his tantou. He'll toss it upwards and hold his hands out. The light will then envelope both hands, and when he swipes them at the air, the claws manifest.
Bankai - Revealing Isuru's true name, the tantou instead transforms into gloves which cover Isaiah's entire arm. They are dark blue, with a bright sapphire on his left hand's palm, a deep red ruby on his right hand's palm. These gloves are very durable, and while they seem to not be made especially for combat, they appear to be a good fit. What they do is yet to be seen.
The transformation is simple, and very similar to the Shikai transformation. Except, instead of tossing the tantou into the air, Isaiah must 'stab' himself. Yes, he must make a motion as though to harm himself, putting full trust in Isuru. Upon blade hitting flesh, the zanpakutou will disolve and turn itself into the gloves that Isaiah will wear.
Zanapkutou Release Names(Include both Shikai and Bankai names, and call out phrases)
Shikai Call: "Let's learn, Isuru!"
Bankai Call: "Welcome home, Isaac."
Overall Ability:
"I am not a tool. I am a companion. I am your limiter, and at the same time, your release."
An enigma, perhaps a memory, perhaps nothing more than a phantom. The one known as Isuru helps concentrate reiatsu overall. If not for the grace of being able to manipulate it better, the zanpakutou is capable of gathering it all in one place for later use, or immediate use, even, if need be. This reiatsu takes the shape of butterflies, elegant and yet sharp. Similar to Isuru, really. He takes on the shape of something so innocent seeming, and yet his words cut through ice. His is not an easy path to take for someone like Isaiah, yet his cold exterior might melt one day, into a warm bath of light.
"Need me, Find me, Welcome me back."
Shikai Overall Ability:
Two hands, two claws. The capability of the Shikai of Isuru is the ability to manipulate the reiatsu ad change it into a much more solid state. Instead of elemental damage, it's taking the form of insects, mostly butterflies. While seemingly a simple appearance change, they're useful in the fact that, when released from the jewels on the gauntlets, they are similar to smaller versions of a blade. While they cannot cut deep, eventually, death by a thousand paper cuts would kill someone. He can even gather them all together for one attack, should he have to.
The manipulation, while not spot on, also allows him to multi-task. While fighting with the claws, he's able to, if he can, concentrate on controlling the butterflies as well. Obviously, this takes quite a bit of mental power. Most of the time, it's best to store the butterflies within the gauntlets instead, to unleash them at a later time. The amount of butterflies can cover about a teenager's person. Though, they come in all sorts of sizes and can be changed on the fly as long as the focus of it is there.
The butterflies tend to scatter and collect around where Isaiah is, as though to protect him. While they have free reign of what to do, they do little more than fly around in disarray until controlled.
Bankai Overall Ability:
Two hands, one heart. The capability of the Bankai of Isaac is the ability to use reiatsu to greatly strengthen his own defenses. Physical defense and other defensive manners, they're all there. The amount of butterflies multiples by approximately five times, letting them act as some sort of fortress should he collect them together like such.
Isaac's main function is protection of Isaiah and his allies. Using the reiatsu to fulfill this by giving the enemy a disability, or defending the main Shinigami, is just a way of him showing that function.
Zanpakuto Techniques:
Technique Name: Fluttering Slice
Release Level: Shikai/Bankai
Technique Description and Effects:
Cost: 50 Per Use
A simple enough technique. The user must collect reiatsu ahead of time for this to happen. When unleashed from the claw that it was harnessed in, the blast of energy is released in the shape of a raging swarm of beautiful butterflies. Wondrous to look at, deadly to touch. As a technique of pure energy, nothing is really left behind. It is only good for destruction, or perhaps performing a light show, should someone really want to use it for that sort of thing. The radius is about a half a foot wide, while it's able to go for about forty-five feet before dispersing.
The upside is that this technique is very simple, and very easy to use. Simply aim and swing. However, perhaps that is also its downside. It's so easy to use, that once the user does it once, the opponent would be able to see it coming from a mile away. While its destruction is something to be seen, it is not useful for the more intelligent of opponents.
----------------------
Technique Name: Wall of Life
Release Level: Shikai/Bankai
Technique Description and Effects:
Cost: 100 Per Use per 10 square feet, and if needed, 100 more for 5 extra per, 50 per post for upkeep.
As his Shikai's special ability is to turn reiatsu solid, Isuru is capable of creating a literal wall of energy. This wall is a fairly basic barrier, and, though pretty to look at, it also is blinding to the eye. Bad for both the user and the opponent. It is able to be used for cover, or simply used as a platform. A solid wall is useful for several applications, not just protection.
Perhaps the biggest use is the fact that it can be any shape as long as the reiatsu is there to use it. Should he have enough, it could span over for a very long distance. The strongest state of spiritual energy is used in this technique, as Isaiah wishes to keep those he loves and likes safe.
----------------------
Technique Name: Fluttershy Bomb
Release Level: Shikai/Bankai
Technique Description and Effects:
Cost: 100 Per Use
Capable of manipulating reiatsu to the smallest amounts, a small butterfly would flutter forward, seeming harmless enough. Daintily it would flap its wings, until it reached its destination. Upon that point, it would then settle...
Then proceed to detonate into a brilliant array of colors and probably pain.
Should it be intercepted, the butterfly would also detonate, whether allies were close in or not. An explosive technique, it must be used with caution, as, just like any normal bomb, anything could cause it to go off. The radius is about ten square feet per explosion.
----------------------
Technique Name: Brilliant Serenity
Release Level: Bankai
Technique Description and Effects:
Cost: 130 per use, 50 per post upkeep
Collect your reiatsu and then unleash it around you in a flurry of wonderful color. It blinds those that are looking at it, possibly even burning their eyes from the bright light. The light shines so long as the user wishes it, and has the energy to continue the glorious show. A way to avoid it is to simply block off the light, however. Shade, a wall, it's light, so bending it is fairly easy so long as one has the resources.
Unfortunately, light does not know friend from foe, and, aside from Isaiah, everyone is affected by this creation.
It is useful for a technique that distracts or even alerts those around. Like most abilities of this list, it is used for different reasons.
----------------------
Technique Name: Encompassing Cocoon
Release Level: Bankai
Technique Description and Effects:
Cost: 120 Per use, 60 Per post for Upkeep
As the Bankai is used for defenses, a barrier is only natural. Collecting the reiatsu from the gemstones, a barrier big enough to surround Isaiah is created. The barrier itself is translucent, and shapes around him like a literal cocoon, as the title would have one to believe. He can shoot things out of the barrier, but things are not allowed inside, not even his allies. Possibly the strongest ability, as it is capable of blocking quite a few things, it depends on just how strong the attack is if it is strong enough. It's malleable, and reshapes itself constantly with its owner as they move. This is the strongest ability in Isaac's repertoire, and as such, the amount of energy and strength behind it is the highest it can be, being Isaiah's offensive status taken and turned defensive.
It could even be used to soften things like crashing into the ground. Isaac is quite protective of Isaiah, you see, and it shows in this one, heartwarming power.
Other Techniques:
Birthplace: Ft. Worth, Texas (Human World)
Current Residence: Sereitei, Squad 7 Barracks
Memorable Figures: Isaac [Brother], Mom (Mother), Dad (Father)
History:
Isaiah, as a human, lived a fairly normal life. He was born with a twin brother, and his parents pampered him because of his supposed problems. The boy wasn't quite right in the head, many thought. He would stare off into space, he would forget what he was doing, and he wouldn't understand just how wrong a situation was. The boy would sometimes even go as far as to hurt himself to 'make the burning stop'. His parents were livid, they asked, no, they demanded to know what was wrong with their child. The doctors did the tests, they gave medicine, anything to understand just what was going on with Isaiah.
They came up with very little. Aspergers, perhaps? Some form of autism. Isaiah was forced down a path for 'special' people, and in that time, he earned the ire of his very own brother. Even if he didn't realize it, he took all of the attention of his parents. They worked themselves to the bone to care for him and his careless ways. Even his own brother had to watch over him like a hawk would watch her babies, making sure that he didn't do something silly, or dumb. Yet, this was not easily fixed. Isaac was not a prodigy with children, let alone someone whom he hated. Because of this, Isaac would leave Isaiah to his own devices more often than not.
He would never have seen the bus coming.
Isaiah never had to know that his brother actually hated him.
---
Isaiah woke up in the Rukongai. He was a confused boy at the time, and though he was earnest, the place was not as safe as he would have liked. It took some time to get used to, especially since he was on his own. He worked hard, however, because his parents did the same. While not perfect, nor special, he slowly grew stronger and stronger, perhaps even more intelligent. Without the pressure, without the problems of his human body, he was not held back by such troublesome things. Even if his old life caused him to act certain ways, he was still able to take care of himself.
He made plenty of friends in the inner Rukongai. Due to his friendly nature and constant wish for company, he made the best of things when he could. Working was new to him, talking to other people, completely new to him. As a human, he was sheltered. As a spirit, he was free. He enjoyed himself so very much, and as the years passed, he began to understand just how sheltered of a life he had back on the Human World. The boy didn't blame his parents, not at all. In fact, he appreciated their attempts to keep him safe. Yet, there was one thing that never chaegd about him, that likely would be his downfall eventually.
He was terribly naive.
People told him, warned him, that he should not leave the inner Rukongai. It was dangerous, they said. So dangerous that many left and never returned. The boy thought, surely, it couldn't be as dangerous as they say. So, one day, he approached the outter parts of the Rukongai. The first mistake, as he learned, was entering that area without any sort of defense. He was mugged without fail immediately when one saw him to be far too carefree to hold onto what he had. Then, came the true threat of the Rukongai. The real problems that happened there, of course, was not just the horrible acts done there. It was also the place where a hollow would sometimes roam.
He'd never seen one before. Sure, he heard about them, but it was entirely a new concept that something, a creature that was once living, could become a monster. When he first viewed one, it was by chance, and he had no idea how much danger he was in. It was perhaps a miracle that he was saved by a Shinigami. Why was one out there? Why would any be out here, when the world of the outter Rukongai was so doomed? He didn't ask any of these things. Indeed, instead he asked how the person's day was, and what they were up to, after the hollow was taken care of. Suffice to say, it surprised the Shinigami, and with enough time, Isaiah began to learn about the group that was his protectors.
He began to wish to become one.
When he grew older, he came to understand that he would need to have the 'worth' to become one of those legendary people. When he went to the Sereitei, he was surprised to find that he actually did have the capacity to become a student. It was very startling, when he was taken in. Yet, he soon came to understand that he loved to learn! With each class, with each practice, he loved it more and more. When classes were over, he was almost sad. When classes started, he was overjoyed. Friends were made, teachers were met, and he was ever such an eager student. Perhaps almost even overzealous about the entire ordeal.
Perhaps it was because he was never allowed such in the human world.
The Academy came and went like a roaring wave of an ocean. It was strong and a hill to climb over, yet when graduation to a full Shinigami came, he wasn't quite prepared. After all, becoming a real Shinigami was quite surprising when one was used to just 'dreaming' of becoming one. From an Academy Student to a full-blown Shinigami, Isaiah was prepared for whatever was to come. When it came time to be settled into a squad, he never thought about which one would best fit him. Talking to the others, he spoke about how he wanted to be able to help people, to be able to make sure people were safe! He wanted to make sure that things were done, and that people were kept secure. Indeed, he wanted to make sure that the peace he saw would stay, and the corruption he witnessed, would go away.
Squad 7, it seemed, would best fit him and his eye for security and safety.[/ul]
