Thread Title: Fighting a Toy Participants: Keira vs. Jikken World: Human World Death Setting: Non Death Enabled Rating: PG-13 Location: Keira's asylum during the early morning hours of sunrise. The asylum has been slowly patched up to decent comfort. Most of the holes have been covered with mismatching metal. Tools hang from the walls of the examination rooms looking like something out of a horror film. Special Conditions: None Circumstances: After he events in Okinawa, Keira has taken the mod soul Jikken Kaze back to her asylum laboratory back in Karakura Town. She wishes to experiment on Kaze to see how he functions, with the hopes of possibly recreating a mod soul herself.

The sun was steadily rising when Keira strapped the amalgamate onto the examination table. The small Frankenstein abomination of a children's toy was a sight to behold. It had a body of a black teddy bear slightly worn and torn, mostly from the indecent at Okinawa not long ago. The right arm of the teddy bear had been replaced with a bright red crab claw. A propeller had once been embedded into the back of the teddy bear body, but sadly Keira had to remove it to make it easier to restrain the amalgamate. She made plans to replace it after the experiments were over. The legs of the amalgamate were long and bird like with three long toes on each foot. The had was that of a pterodactyl. Its long beak bent slightly.
Keria had an odd fascination for the amalgamation of plushies and oddities. It sort of reminded her of herself. Something that should not really be, but did anyway. When she applied the restraints, Keira made sure not to damage the body any more than necessary. She was fairly adept at sewing, but never liked doing it. It was a waste of time trying to everything right the first time. Still sometimes it had to be done, especially when there are no other clothes available to her. She would prefer to keep it in relatively good condition. The mod soul within the body was what she was truly after in that moment. The amalgamation was a bonus.
She had heard of the pill life forms that inhabit false bodies, and fight and move like they were living organisms. From what she could gather from some shinigami that she interrogated, they were once an experiment to create soldiers from artificial souls or something like that. Apparently their morals kicked in and they scrapped the project, but decided to destroy all the samples already made leaving precious few samples left. It was a shame. It seems that the shinigami were constantly letting their morality get the better of them. They were fools at dropping such a useful idea. It would seem that she would need to pick up where they left off, but first, she needs to know how they are made.
She was not going to kill the mod soul to achieve this reverse engineering if she could help it. She knew that she didn't have the resources that the shinigami have, and that her versions of mod souls were going to vary greatly from the original models she is basing it off of. She will need more mod souls. The more samples she has the better, but one was a start for now. She had knocked it out before strapping it, so that it didn't resist. The last thing she needed was killing it. Working with a damaged sample would be hard especially for reacquiring base line data. She needed to be careful. She saw what he was capable off in Okinawa. Which fed into her anticipation. She activated a device that would give her some base readings on the mod soul. Her energy sensory could give her the same information, but it was good to have some confirmation.

There were many words that could describe Jikken: Kaze. Most people call him a homeless man, but home is wherever the heart is. To the shinigami, he is just some experiment gone rouge, having slaughtered and destroyed everything that had any ties to him and his four siblings. To anyone that knew him, he was an airhead, not caring to be grounded to things like normality. He technically wasn't even a he, it was just the body that 'he' had been given, not caring to correct people on it. But something that Kaze was not, was a morning person.
You would think that sleeping for a hundred years would make waking up seem all that more important, but no, Kaze liked his sleep. Being lazy was one of his favorite past times that came with his freedom from the twelfth division. While Kaze was never mentally exhausted, do to his mind being like a computer, his gigai still needed rest, as well as recovering the energy used to function the body. He tried stretching his arms as he let out an obnoxiously loud yawn, but found that he couldn't for whatever reason.
Blinking a few times, he immediately noticed something was.... off. He looked over towards his right hand. It was a red claw. He blinked again. Yep, still a claw. He tested it out, clicking the two pincers together. "That's weird. My hand isn't normally a lobster claw. Weird." Then he looked slightly down and noticed that the claw was strapped to metal. Eyes widening in panic, he looked to his other arm. It was a bear paw from a stuffed animal. He quickly came to the conclusion that he was on an operating table.
If he actually had lungs, he would be hyperventilating. Drug fueled flashback flashed across his vision. His hundred years with the scientist shinigami. He spied a glow to the side. It was that woman, the glowing one with the hands. He knew what she was. She was the kind of person that would fit right in with the twelfth squad. The kind of person that loves to pick something, or someone, apart, just to see how they tick. He wasn't a very observant kind of guy, but he could see the calculating look in her eyes. He saw them far too many times in his existence.
In an instant, Kaze threw up his armor, coating him from head to toe giving him a blacked appearance. Several things happened at once. First, his bindings were obliterated, turned into dust in the blink of an eye. The table beneath him shared the same fate, turning into less than metal shavings against the force of his power. A wave of power was released, able to be sensed by anyone with even the faintest amount of skill in energy sensory. The black bear amalgamate floated upwards, turning to face his failure capture'er, in more ways than one. "Any last words, scientist?" He asked her. He would wait to actually see if she had any retort, be it attack or something else, before charging forward.

The second that mod soul had woken up and realized what was going on, the second her palm met her face. She could only watch as the mod soul activated his ability and turned her thick slab of metal of an examination table into a bile of scrap metal. She had just replaced the restraints on those too, she would need to find a way to make sure that the examination table can withstand spiritual attacks. She can't just keep replacing these things every time she brings anther specimen into the lab. Speaking of which, why the hell didn't she take the pill out of the body!? What was she planing to do? Slowly extract it out of him like some sort of horror film? She thought she knew better than that.
At any rate the mod soul was angry at her attempts to see what made him tick. "Any last words, scientist?" Apparently being in this kind of situation was a real trigger point for him. She didn't think she saw him this angry before. She was not too bothered by the fact that the amalgamation in front of her was angry. Really it was to be expected. She did basically kidnapped and tried to experiment on it. It was really hard to find someone that wasn't currently angry at the young failure. She did not care about making friends. She needed test subjects more than she needed friends, and it was not like she was able to find any willing people to be experimented on.
"Fine, fine, if we have to fight, can we take this outside? I really don't want to have to replace more than I absolutely have to." Her tone was one of frustration and disgruntled acceptance. She knew what was going to happen. They were going to fight. End up wrecking whatever part of the lab they are near, and then go about their business like nothing happened. It was like a predictable pattern. The same routine every time. Sometimes though she fights someone before bringing them to the lab. That seemed to spice things up a bit, but sometimes she grows tired of fighting all the time. It was a waste of time and energy. She could be doing many better things.
She would walk out of the room turning her back to the angry mod soul. She really didn't care if he would try to attack her while her back was turned. She was sure she would be able to detect the attack coming and already be dodging before he knew what to do. She would make her way down the spiral stair case to the main lobby. She looked at the doors that she had recently replaced after fighting with a monkey a while back. She opened the door and walked out in the middle of the courtyard. She turned putting her hands on her hips waiting for the amalgamation to be ready. "Lets get this over with. I really am not in the mood to fight, but I can see that you won't take no for an answer."

Some of the wind was taken away from Kaze's proverbial sails, as he saw the angry expression on the failure's face, and cowed down a bit hearing her more than upset tone. "Oh, um, yeah, sure I guess." Just because he didn't like this woman, didn't mean he had any right to just ruin all her hard work, since science stuff like this was clearly not an easy thing to make. He didn't like to destroy things without a good reason. Even if the world of man was a harsh one, the things they made were still their own, and if the roles were reversed, he would be upset if someone broke his home or work.
So they walked, well, she walked, he floated a courteous distance of two feet behind her, through the building to the outside. Floating down the staircase was fun, doing a bunch of spins and softly saying 'weeee' the whole way down, clearly enjoying himself. He couldn't say if the building was nice or not, seeing as he literally lived in a cave, but he would say it was nice, if not only for the stairs. When they got to the outside, he could see that the sun was starting to peak over the horizon. It was such a lovely sight, something that he deeply enjoyed seeing, something he nearly always got up to see in the mornings.
He used his newfound freedom to enjoy life to its fullest. He enjoyed nature... drank... watched the sunrises... drank... watched the stars, drank... flew around getting in fights... drank. He liked alcohol, okay!? Regardless, he did what he wanted in life, and he decide to ignore that woman in favor of the sun. "I could take no for an answer. If you explain to me what you were trying to do to me." He said offhandedly, still watching the sun rise. "You humans, I wonder if you can even appreciate life, being free since the day you were born."
Kaze didn't know that Kiera wasn't a human, nor did he really care. She was someone who had always been free, and was so willing to toy with the lives of others, like his. He wasn't so keen on losing it after having such a sweet taste of it, nor was he so forgiving as to let her go. If she chose her next words carefully, she might be able to avoid a fight like she wanted, but if not, then he would show her why the shinigami dubbed him and his kin as 'Titans'. It been the name of project they had been created and enslaved for, the reason that he hated shinigami and couldn't fully enjoy his freedom yet. He kept the title as a reminder of what he trained for.

"I could take no for an answer. If you explain to me what you were trying to do to me." She was actually amused by that response. She watched him turn away from her watching the sun rise. To her it was just a natural part of the day. The sun always will rise from the east and set in the west until the sun itself eventually dies. There was nothing special about it, but to the mod soul, it seems to be one of the most beautiful thing that he had ever seen. Then he continued. "You humans, I wonder if you can even appreciate life, being free since the day you were born." Keira couldn't help but laugh at the comment. It started low at first, but then grew louder. It was a laugh of amusement mixed with pain.
"You assume quite a lot little pill." She said looking at the sun rise as well. "I do not count myself as human anymore. One learns to appreciate life when they are one scratch away, one simple accident away from killing not only themselves but also anyone around them in a violent explosion of destabilized reiatsu. That is what I brought you here for. To see how the shinigami were able to create a reiatually stabilized being in hopes to one day cureing myself of this affliction." Keira brushed some of her pink hair out of his face. If she had managed to reverse engineer mod souls that would have been a bonus, but her main quest is how to stabilize her own body.
She then turned back to the asylum itself. The building would seem to loom darkly over her holding not only her hopes for the future, and her present life, but also the scars and resentment of the past. "You also assume that like other humans I was free." Her tone took a more somber tone. "I have been trapped in that asylum for over fifty years since the accident. Fifty years of watching staff and inmates alike walk in and out of those doors cured or in body bags. All the while wondering when will it be my time?" A tear started to well up in her soft pink eyes, but she forced them back not wanting to show any kind of emotions like that. "They abandoned me in that building. Only the passage of time, and the decay of humanity allowed me to regain my freedom."
Kaze glared at the sun, before turning his body to fully face the woman, apparently satisfied and finished watching the sun. "I didn't ask for your life story human. Your past is your own, as is mine." His armor flared, seemingly increasing in speed for a brief moment. "You told me what you planned to do after you got what you wanted, but you didn't answer my question of WHAT exactly you were going to me." The amalgamation of a bear charged towards the woman, though flew towards her was probably the more accurate word for it, the way he positioned himself looked like he was trying to tackle the glowing girl.
The mod soul was fast, unnaturally so, moving much faster than any human could claim to be. Or, at least as far as normal humans can go anyway. He moved at a speed of 286, rushing at her in a straight line. There was little thought behind his attack other than 'hit her'. Kaze was a special kind of arrogant when he fought. He fought with the recklessness of an immortal. Thanks to his armor, he felt himself invincible, having seen next to nothing break break through his defences, in spite of the fact that just about every fight he's been in, it's broken at least twice, or at least been outright disabled.
"DIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" The mod soul roared as he drew nearer, a blood-red light shining in the doll's beady eyes. Despite the mod soul's arrogance and lack of battle tactics, be it because of actual pride, or the fact that the shinigami program switched him into a berserker-like state in battle and when angry, his armor was not to be taken lightly. The wind from his mo soul powers would tear through anything with less than 1000 rs. If the woman could not react fast enough, the fight might be over before it could truly begin.

"I didn't ask for your life story human. Your past is your own, as is mine." It appeared that her explanation was not enough to sway the amalgamation. She figured it wouldn't, but she did try all the same. She was already preparing for the fight, well more accurately she had been prepared the entire time. She had kept her sharpened senses on the amalgamation the entire time. Though her sight wasn't on him at all times, her hearing was focused on him, as well as her ability to feel the spiritual energy of things around her. To her, he was a beacon of energy she could home in on. It was not like she would be able to lose him easily even if he didn't have his shield active.
"You told me what you planned to do after you got what you wanted, but you didn't answer my question of WHAT exactly you were going to me." His charge was as predictable as the rising sun. It almost amused her that he would try something so basic against someone of her intellect. She would admit that he was physically fast, but her mind was far faster as well as her flood. She kept it active at all times never finding a reason to go without it. A long arm made of pure reiatsu formed from under the woman and moved her out of harms way at 600 speed. It moved her well away from the amalgamation just in case he was able to track her a little bit.
She pointed a finger at the raging doll quickly reciting the incantation to Hado #4: Byakurai. The bolt of lightning arced from her finger tips targeting the amalgamation right at center mass. It was a powerful blast, but still not enough to break through the little doll's shield. Keira was a little surprised how ineffective her attack was. No matter, she had other ways of attacking. She would watch how he responded. Would his swell from perceived invulnerability? Or would he continue to attack her the same way that he had before. Blindly charging her hoping that he would catch her off balance to hit her. Suffice to say, she was not going to allow that.
Post by Jikken Kaze on Dec 26, 2016 14:45:27 GMT -5
Kaze didn't bother to even try and dodge the bolt of lightning, knowing that it wouldn't break through his armor. The fact that she attacked instead of just avoiding him, seeing as she was faster than he was, further reinforced the fact that she had nothing good planed for him. Sadly, it seemed that the failure didn't need to worry too much, seeing as the mod soul wasn't able to catch the woman, no matter how fast he moved. He had less than half her speed, and we was making good use of that fact, keeping a large distance away from his melee based powers. While she might not have been able to hurt him, neither could the mod soul touch her.
This made Kaze's programing livid. "DIE YOU WORM!" The stuffed bear yelled out, still fruitlessly trying to collide with the woman. He... it, wasn't very much in favor of giving up a kill, no matter how unlikely it was to happen. Still, Jikken had a few tricks up his nonexistent sleeves. The winds were howling around him, as he flew through the air. "DIE!" It roared once more. Kiera would feel the buildup of reiatsu, before Kaze vanished. The mod soul was going all out, and decided to start using Caelumintro, the mod soul step tech, to attack like it normally did with faster opponents.
The attack would be as straightforward as you could imagine, literally being a linear dash towards the woman. As obvious as the direction of the attack was, it was no less dangerous, thanks only to the sheer speed behind the movement, pushing the mod soul to over eight times its current speed. If the mod soul managed to dodge thanks to her advanced sensory abilities, she would notice that the little trick that mod soul pulled off seemed to wind the wrathful toy. The stuffed amalgamation would sit there in the air for a moment, catching his breath. This would be a perfect time to attack and back away from the mod soul.

Keira's energy sensory went of in alarm. She didn't even stop to think as she started to shift her hand to the side out of the way of the mod soul as it shouted, "DIE!". Just before he blink out of sight, she started to use her own. She took a couple steps forward using sonido to jump off the hand that she was occupying. At the exact same time, she would raise another one directly under her to catch her, so that she didn't fall and injure herself by accident. It was only due to the fact that she was tipped off about his step attack slightly before hand, and the faster nature of sonido, was she able to get out of the way in time. She turned to where the mod soul ended up knowing full well that she barley escaped death.
It seemed that the mod soul had worn himself out with the combination of techniques all at once. Keira would take the opportunity to use the hand she was previously standing on to attack. Standing still was not going to help him at all. The large hand rushed at him at six hundred speed enclosing around the amalgamation in an attempt to squeeze it. She wanted to keep it in tact as possible, so squeezing it slowly vs crushing it would make sure that the pill remained in tact. Her eyes widened when the wind shield started to shred the reiatsu arm. It was a little slow to go through the mass, but it was still a bit worrying to see her strongest attack being torn apart.

Kaze watched as the glowing hands made their way to crush him into nothing. "Yeah right, in your dreams." The energy constructs fell away to dust against the whipping winds of his armor. He was invincible! If he kept this up, he could eventually catch her and shred her like these dumb hands. All it would take in time, and energy... and patience. After the flood was reduced to nothing, Kaze looked over towards the scientist, the one who had minutes earlier intended to dissect him like some lab experiment.
"..." Kaze glared at her. He pointed his odd appendage at her, posing dramatically. "I'll spare you this time, scientist, but know that if we ever cross paths again, you'll feel the true wrath of Jikken Kaze, the Titan of the Wind!" He said, trying to sound noble. Whether he succeeded was up for debate. And with that, the mod soul flew off towards the nearest human settlements, hoping to find something he could use as a replacement Gigai. If the Failure tried to follow or attack him again, he'd turn around and continue fighting.

Keira didn't let the suprise show on her face when her reiatsu hands were shredded against the wind shield around the amalgamation. It was obvious that spells were not going to be effective at the moment, nor was her flood. She could do nothing against the little toy until she could find a past his sheild, or he drops it on his own for some reason. He kept her mind focused on the thing not wanting to let it out of her sight for a moment. Let it think that it had the upper hand, she thought relaxing into the reiatsu hand that she was already sitting in. He will make a mistake in time, and when he did, Keira fully intended to punish him for it.
Their eyes met. Their glares equally as dark. The amalgamation suddenly struck a dramatic pose pointing one of its mismatched arms at her. This confused the scientist. What the hell was he up to? Was he trying to intimidate her? "I'll spare you this time, scientist, but know that if we ever cross paths again, you'll feel the true wrath of Jikken Kaze, the Titan of the Wind!" He's kidding right? That was the only thing that the pink haired scientist could think of. It seemed that this toy was not as keen to fight her as he first seemed. Something that she noticed during their time in Okinawa was that he had an...odd personality. Maybe this had something to do with that.
She watched Jikken fly way not interested in continuing the fight herself. She would have too much on her plate to do already repairing all the damage that he had caused inside of the lab. She sighed reaching into her pocket and popping one of the jolly ranchers into her mouth sucking on it thoughtfully. Blueberry, one of her favorites. She turned the reiatsu arm, so that she faced the asylum and made her way through the front door. She took another look around the main foyer. Though this place has seen better days, it had come a long way from the crumbling building that it was once reduced to. The mismatched patch work she made stood out, but she thought that it gave the place character. She made her way back to the second floor trying to take stock of what she needed to replace the equipment and upgrade it.
