Thread Title: The Shy and the Mute [R, NDE] Participants: Senshi Odayakama, Grodd World: Soul Society Death Setting: Non Death Enabled Rating: R Location: Squad 9 Training Dojo: A simple training area suited perfectly for the Information Dissection Squad. Every separated mat (measuring fifteen feet by fifteen feet) is lined perfectly in a single row facing a large glass window which houses Squad 9 trainees learning to analyze the tactics of multiple combat styles and such. Each mat is stocked with four bamboo swords, two whips, and two buckler shields housed in a small rack on the wall opposite the large glass window. Special Conditions: None Circumstances: Squad 3 Third Seat Grodd has been invited to Squad 9's Dojo to demonstrate his fighting style and techniques in front of a panel of trainees. He is matched with Squad 9 member Senshi Odayakama at random which leads to their good natured fight. Due to his... less than civil personality it is always possible that the fight could take a turn for the worst.
Grodd awoke in his small private room set aside for the Third Seat of the Squad and slid out of bed, expecting to be struck with his loincloth. But... it didn't happen. Then he remembered, he was alone in this room. He may not have been particularly powerful yet, but he was showing promise and the Squad needed leaders, needed guides. It was falling apart after the War and the Captain thought that he might have the strength to take the Squad places. Hopefully the man could live up to those expectations. He put on his "uniform" and walked out the door to see a young Shinigami standing there with a few things in his hand.
"Good morning, Third Seat Grodd, sir. Your new Badge came in as well as an intersquad message. Squad 9 would like you to demonstrate your combat ability in front of their new trainees and a few Academy students, Sir." Grodd nodded and took the badge and the message. The unseated Shinigami had delivered the message perfectly, so he was given a rough pat on the head and left alone for the day. Grodd wasn't interested in getting in a fight in the barracks today, it seemed. So he'd act polite while internally grumbling at the addition of -more- clothes that he was required to wear. Pulling the band tight around his right ankle, Grodd was happy with the placement of his officer badge. After all, he was a high ranking officer now.
That felt pretty good. He had never felt anything like respect before from... well... anyone... It was a pretty nice feeling. He would probably forget this feeling and move on to being grumpy and miserly again in a few minutes, but that just made the next time he felt respected feel just as good as the first time ever again. After grabbing a raw steak out of the kitchen fridge and taking a large bite out of it, he walked towards the Squad 9 Barracks while working on finishing his breakfast.Inside the dojo, which housed only a minor amount of fighting pairs at this time of day, a Seated Officer that Grodd did not know the name of addressed him.
"Thank you for coming, Third Seat Grodd. As you've not had any high-profile missions under your belt, your potential and your combat skills are unknown to most of the Gotei 13. Actually, all of it. Basically no one knows who you are or what you can do. That makes you a perfect candidate for our examination today. You will spar with one of our shinigami and these Academy students and trainees will dissect your fighting style and have a discussion on counters to your particular style. Any questions? Oh wait, your file says that you're mute. Too bad, let's get on with the fight." The man's particular... mannerisms frustrated Grodd, immediately putting him back into his usual bad mood. So he just bent his knees, raised his fists, and prepared for his sparring partner to enter the mat.

Odayakama Senshi was having a good day this bright and beautiful morning in her barracks training. She had a light meal of Miso Soup, rice, and pickled radish before beginning her training. She had then been told to come to a squad meeting where combat demonstrations were being shown by a seated officer? How could she refuse such a rare opportunity to see a seated officer in action?! Senshi had of course been with her fellow Shinigami as one of the more senior members had adressed Grodd himself. It was a rather exciting moment a she had never met this seated officer before...nor anyone from squad three really. She wondered how powerful the man was seeing this man was of course stronger than the average Shinigami. He looked a little bit grumpy though.
Too bad, let's get on with the fight." Senshi here was surprised by all of that news as she would try to take it one bit a time. He hasn't had any high profile missions at all but made it to the position of third seat? Nobody even knew what his combat skills were capable of within the whole Gotei 13? When it was mentioned he would be sparring with someone, she grew even more interested. What surprised her the most was that he was mute. The man as certainly interesting and had a mysterious vibe off of him to Senshi.
The shinigami who had greeted the third seat had suddenly pointed at Senshi. "You! Odayakama Senshi will be facing the third seat." Odayakama Senshi was agape...at a loss for words even. She was going to be given the opportunity to face the third seat in combat? Senshi had shyly piped up, "Yes sir! I'll try my best!" She had stood out from amongst the crowd and had walked forwards observing and analyzing her opponent. He looked physically fit and stronger than she was. She also used her logical reasoning to believe he most likely surpassed her in every way. She was an unseated officer and he was the third seat. That must have had some serious merit as a testimony to his skill. Wait...but didn't her superior officer say that the man's combat skills was unknown to everyone in the Soul Society? That didn't seem quite right in terms of explanation but no matter. Senshi wanted to see the differences in their strengths as she had entered onto the mat on the opposite end of him. She had seen the various weapons portrayed as she took a look at his stance.
He seemed to have his knees bent and arms raised. He also seemed to look like a boxer like the ones her father used to watch on T.V. Senshi had paid close attention to his footing before she had entered her own stance. A martial arts stance was one she took...particularly the art of Aikido. Ai Hanmi (Mutual Stance). Hanmi in Aikido is a triangular stance with the front foot facing forward and the rear foot perpendicular to the front, facing sideways. She had matched the foot which was more dominant as she took a deep breath awaiting the man to attack her. Her martial art complemented her philosophy of dodging attacks. However, this technique not only allowed dodging but allowed redirection and counter attacks. If he would use strength, Senshi would turn the man's strength against himself. Her right hand had been in front of her as if using it as a marker to pinpoint his movements..
The shy unseated officer looked completely surprised to be put against Grodd in a sparring match, but she looked enthusiastic enough. The other Squad 9 members moved into the adjacent room to stay out of the way yet still have the full view of the field. Senshi entered into a defensive stance with one foot in front of the other in a martial art that Grodd was not familiar with, but the message still came across loud and clear. She wanted him to attack her first. Well... this was awkward... Grodd's main fighting style relied on countering and retaliating rather than attacking, so there was an awkward moment with both of them in a defensive stance for more than a few seconds.
Eventually giving up, Grodd shrugged, pointed at Senshi with his index finger, and summoned a bit of reiatsu in order to fire off a simple Kidou. As a mute, he had been forced to learn the arts of Mental Incantation and Incantation Abandonment. The first Hadou, Sho, was a simple push of air but it could still be potent. If Senshi didn't react or dodge she would be hit in the chest and feel like an above average human had punched her backwards. It was a simple attack, but could be effective. It especially could be effective at riling up Senshi and getting her to attack him. It could backfire and just make her increase her defensive shell, but he'd cross that bridge when he came to it.

As Odayakama Senshi had witnessed the seated officer seemingly standing his ground, she was puzzled. This man was supposed to be stronger than her and demonstrate his fighting skills wasn't he? Odayakama Senshi and the seated officer had an awkward moment of silence as they were locked in defensive stances. Odayakama Senshi had guessed that his fighting style also revolved defense and counters. She was unfamiliar with the man and had watched him closely...analyzing his movements. It was when Grodd raised his index finger torwards her that she acted.
She too had raised her index finger and had also summoned a bit of reiatsu into her fingertip. This was an easy Kido that most every shinigami may know or at least have heard of. Odayakama Senshi had used Hado#1:Sho. The purpose for this usage of the technique was to make the man fall to the ground and or dodge before he could finish his own technique, but alas she failed to do so in time. Although the third seated officer and Senshi had used the same Kido, the difference in their Reiatsu strength allowed her Kido to punch through his own heading for the man. Senshi had felt it would be useful to learn mental incantation as if ambushing an enemy, it would be best to have access to long range Kido powers. If Grodd's Hado#1:Sho was like a normal punch, Senshi's would be getting hit by athlete. Senshi's Kido should normally break the clash, and if it makes contact with Grodd, he would be sent skidding backwards against the floor. Odayakama Senshi would have been puzzled by the way her Kido would have broken past his own attack, but it wouldn't matter.
Senshi would have fallen back again into her defensive Aikido stance as she never once let her eyes stray from her enemy. On the battlefield, ignoring your enemy no matter how weak they may seem may lead to death. She would normally be feeling apologetic, but to show pity or remorse to a training partner was to look down apon them. Senshi was far too respectful to do such a thing to any opponent...especially those above her.
Some say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Grodd would call them all idiots and liars if he had a voice. Senshi mimicked Grodd, firing the exact same kidou despite having no refined ability to sense reiatsu at all. Maybe it was just a lucky guess, but regardless they had cast the same attack and the Squad 9 Shinigami's was quite a bit stronger. Grodd's was dissipated into just plain breathable air while Senshi's continued on, although slowed. It was the weakest Hado in existence, after all, and would not have a lot of durability. What was most astonishing to the Squad 9 onlookers, and potentially Senshi, was that despite having his attack countered so completely, Grodd didn't react in typical ways.
Most normal fighters would dodge or find some other way to counter the attack, but the Squad 3 Third Seat opened his chest wide to take the blow of the Sho. It had been weakened, but it was still a potent hit that pushed him back. The nearly naked man had braced himself appropriately utilizing the concepts of Hakuda that he knew and wasn't knocked down to the floor but remained on his feet. He brushed himself off, shook out his arms, then began to charge Senshi to engage in close combat. He may not have had the analytical prowess that Squad 9 prided itself on, but he had gut instincts. He was a boxer and a Hakuda practitioner.
He didn't know much, but he knew that he had almost a foot and a half of height on Senshi. That came with advantages and disadvantages, but the main advantage that Grodd knew was the much larger reach. He didn't know the math of it all, and didn't need to, but Grodd's reach would be a little over 6 inches longer than Senshi's. He could put his hand on her head and she wouldn't be able to reach anything but his arm with either her arms or her legs. The height differential could definitely be in Squad 3's favour in this duel. Not even taking into consideration their differences in strength. However, due to her baggy clothing Grodd had no way of even guessing how strong this woman was.
He just had to use his "punch first, gauge strength later" tactics that had gotten him hurt more than a time or two. Grodd approached the Squad 9 woman and planted his left foot just out of her range as he threw his whole momentum and body into a single punch. His whole body moved with his right foot which pressed into the soft mat as his right arm and fist flew downwards in a potentially devastating meteor smash. The third seat held nothing back, just as he bared nothing in how he took her kidou to the chest. He was an all or nothing kind of guy, and was giving it his all in one solid punch. But that didn't mean that he didn't have options. His left arm was still held defensively with his fist in between his chest and his face guarding either from a counter attack.

Senshi was surprised that the man had took her Hado head on instead of dodging her attack. It seemed that he just shrugged off the attack off and began to run at her. He had been rather intimidating with his height and his speed was impressive as he charged torwards her. She had seen the man lean sideways on his leg as he then was going to aim a punch downwards torwards her face? Senshi had raised her left arm supported by her right as she used a mental incantation. She had used Bakudo#8:Seki. She planned on using this Bakudo to defend herself from the larger man's blow. It would also paralyze and stun the man from the Bakudo's effects.
If his fist would connect, Senshi had stumbled from the weight and force of his fist, but stood strong as she skidded against the mat; barely avoiding tumbling. The orange shield would have cracked and been destroyed with a single punch as it was brittle and used for a single moment's notice. The man should be stunned from the electricity of the attack as Senshi had then taken the moment to make her counter attack. Senshi would have simply put her hand onto the seated officer's chest as she had then spoke quickly. "Man, shaped by Divine hands, revert to the form before limbs, clutch at your own throat and be afraid. Bakudo#1:Sai!" If successful, the man despite his numbness would suddenly find his arms locked behind his back. Odayakama Senshi had now restricted the man from defending himself. Senshi had then slipped back into her Aikido stance...even though he may be unable to hurt her. She had panted slightly as she didn't have the highest of stamina.
Odayakama Senshi had at first thought that the man had sacraficed his spiritual pressure and reiatau strength for the sake of his physical strength and speed. However, it seems that they are quite evenly matched. To Senshi, she either wondered if this man was not quite as strong as other third seats, or if she was as strong as a normal third seat. Senshi had been highly fascinated by the man's fighting style and technique of fighting. This man wasn't the third seat for nothing, and she wanted to see what he could do. What other tricks was he hiding up his sleeve?
OOC: Do keep in mind that your instincts and senses are slightly below that of an average human.
Grodd's full force punch was blocked by another Kidou from Senshi which repelled him and ran a paralyzing electricity through his muscles, locking them down. The Third Seat was only adequate at his training in recovering from damage and his spiritual abilities were eclipsed by Senshi's spiritual focus, so the Seki's stun would last the full length, allowing the unseated officer to set up another binding attack with an incantation boost. As the paralysis began to wear off, Grodd found his arms locked to his back. The man began to shake uncontrollably, his face twisted in an expression of pure rage. If he could have growled or screamed he would, but all he could do was gnash his teeth together and bite at the air like a wild dog.
It may be very possible that Senshi had no idea what had triggered Grodd so severely and suddenly. For him, his hands were his voice. He may not be understood in his signing, but that was his way of communication. His heart was on his sleeve in that his hands and arms were used to express his true feelings without having to write them down. Writing things down, to him, was an insult to his "voice". So for Senshi to bind him with Sai pushed him over the edge into a wild bestial rage. It would be as if in the middle of the battle someone bound her mouth with duct tape. At this moment, she was on the level of some of his worst enemies. And he was going to punish her for taking away his voice.
The third seat sucked in a huge breath of air and began to strain against his bindings. He was stubborn with an adequate strength of will, and he had an adequate Pain Tolerance above the average fighter, so despite the pain that he would feel he still managed to pull his arms apart long enough to flip the bird at Senshi with both hands before his arms were forcibly snapped back behind his back due to the Bakudou. Grodd seemed to calm for a moment and stood up straight. He had gone beyond bestial rage to a boiling fury that manifested as an eerie calm. Gone was his usual fighting style, unfortunately for Squad 9, being replaced by what would be a brutally offensive style, unfortunately for Senshi.
With her below average instincts and senses, Grodd would suddenly disappear from her sight, a blur and a gust of wind left in his place. He was behind her in an instant having moved with Shunpo. He lashed out at the back of her knee with his heel, a vulnerable part of the body that would require a great superiority in strength to avoid having one's body forced to the ground. As the stronger force, Grodd would have the advantage and would force Senshi to her knee if she had no way of reacting to the sudden attack. But the attack didn't end there. The third seat kept his heel moving downwards, pinning her knee to the mat with his full weight.
With his other leg, he brought his knee upwards to jab the sharp and durable bone into the back of her head. The force could easily cause her to black out for a moment if she was a normal human, but as a Shinigami she would have the benefit of a higher durability. It would hurt, for sure, and could cause her head to spin as her brain tried to cope with the sudden force to a sensitive part of the body right below the skull. Grodd may have most of his training in boxing, but simple kicks like this were well within the range of his Hakuda training. It was brutal, cruel, and effective. There was little wasted movements, just fury.
Inside his soul, Grodd's Beast Within let out a laugh that shook the forest to its core...

Senshi had been highly puzzled at the anger that the man had displayed. He had let loose a beast like behavior as he gnawed at the air and attempted to shatter her binding spell. The man had taken a deep breath as he began to force his arms apart. Then, the man had done the double birds to her? The man had glared at her with a heated intensity as he then suddenly dissapeared. What had happened next was most surprising. The third seat had decided to attack her from behind without the use of his arms. Due to Senshi not having the senses nor the instinct to have the premonition of danger, she was stuck.
The third seat had slammed his leg onto the back of Senshi's knee as she had been forced down thanks to his superior strength. Senshi had grunted as the force behind his leg was holding her down in an uncomfortable position. Suddenly, the man had used his knee to slam into the back of her head with an intense malice. She had let out a yell of pain as she had fallen facedown onto the floor. It had been extremely painful as she had been hit as hard as the man could deliver punishment.
The man would see that due to his actions, there was a rupture on the red haired head as blood slowly pooled onto the oak floor. Senshi's head was spinning as she groaned. She hadn't even quite realized she was bleeding as her mind wasn't there at the moment. She had laid there for a moment...maybe two as the man was surely still kneeling on her. Senshi having the guise of appearing unconscious had formed her index and middle fingers as she aimed it torwards the man's upper body very subtly. In the man's rage and perhaps distraction of trying to free his arms he may not notice her very slight movement.
Speaking in her mind, she had called out the name of her most powerful Kido. 'Bakudo#30:Shitotsu Sansen.' From her fingers, three small pillars of light had formed before flying for the enraged man to bind his legs and stomach in the shape of a triangle and would then pin him to the wall of the barracks. The man most likely freed himself from his arm bindings, but now had new bindings to hold him in place. If so, Senshi had scrambled and used yet another Kido to restrain the man. "Bakudo#4:Hainawa!" A golden rope would wrap around the man's arms and upper body as it seemed Senshi stayed mostly pacifistic. However, now was the time to finish the chain of Kido. "Bakudo#9:Geki!" With her free hand, a red beam had flown to paralyze the man and stun him. Senshi was most absolutely sure that the man would be unable to move as there were three binding Kido placed on him.
The worst thing that could have happened while being monitored by an entire squad happened. Grodd drew blood. The sight of blood mixed with the presence of the Beast Within that had already stirred up in his soul started to rile up the third seat even more. He wasn't in a pure berserker blood rage yet because it wasn't his blood that had been spilled, but he could smell the sticky substance leaking out onto the floor of the dojo. He could almost taste the iron just from the smell, which started to drive him crazy. He was hungry, hungry for raw meat. He thrashed until the binds of Sai came loose and he could move his arms again, but he wasn't paying attention to the girl he thought was unconscious.
One Bakudo.
Three golden rods struck him and carried him to the wall where he would be stuck for a moment. Unluckily, it was the one way glass wall that he was stuck too and his loin cloth had come loose in all of the flying back and forth. His bare cheeks would be on display to Squad 9, and while he wouldn't be ashamed of it that was something they didn't really want to see. He punched at the Shitotsu Sansen in an attempt to break them apart with his raw strength, but Senshi had gotten up to her feet and was already preparing more kidou. Given that Grodd was currently immobilized, he was fully prepared for a knock out blow of a Hado. Would it be the dreaded Sokkatsui or Shakaho, his worst enemies?
Two Bakudo.
A golden rope leapt from Senshi's hand and covered the short distance in a flash, binding Grodd's arms and upper torso. He couldn't continue to punch at the Shitotsu Sansen, so instead he just exerted as much force as he could on his upper body bindings with his arms and his lower body bindings with his legs. He had strength just above the binding force of these Kidou, but as they were stacked they would be a great deal more effective. But Senshi wasn't done. She still had another hand up and was building up reiatsu. Grodd couldn't fully sense it, but there wasn't an absence of reiatsu, that's for sure. So he once again prepared for the end of the match.
Red Bakudo.
The final nail in the binding coffin was placed as Grodd's entire body was paralyzed by the Geki. No longer able to thrash, he was completely sealed. He was also completely baffled. This was now the third opportunity for her to finish him but she looked done. She wasn't gathering any more energy, she wasn't attacking, she wasn't doing anything aggressive. She wasn't getting payback to a defenseless target that had hurt her and drawn blood. She was just... staying put. She hadn't done anything aggressive the whole spar, simply counter everything with binding kidou. How was Grodd supposed to show off his fighting style to the Squad 9 folks if she never attacked? This wasn't a fight at all, it was a joke.
Then it dawned on Grodd. He knew what the problem was. Senshi Odayakama was a coward. She didn't have the guts to attack someone even in a sparring situation and didn't have the bloodthirsty drive to win at whatever cost. No, instead she just defended herself and left her attacker to someone else. She wasn't interested in growing stronger, she was just a coward. That was the only explanation. This pissed off Grodd the most. He couldn't stand cowards and those who had no interest in growing. He was just assuming all these things about Senshi just from their minimal combat, but he had already made up his stubborn mind. He now had no interest in continuing this spar if she wasn't going to do anything.
So, he waited for the Geki to fade, then snapped the Hainawa that he had weakened, then finished punching the Shitotsu Sansen into shards so he could pull himself off of the wall. Then... he did nothing. He crossed his arms and leaned up against the wall. He was bored, he was angry, and he was a stubborn brat. He had made up his mind that if Senshi didn't make the next move neither of them would act. He would sleep here if he had to, though Squad 9 would probably send him home long before that. He would just wait, slowly cooling off his temper and fiddling with his loincloth and fingernails. Maybe Senshi would attack, maybe not. If she kept up her pacifist ideology then the fight had just ended in a draw since neither of them were willing to continue. It was all up to her.
((OOC: Blue Kyo couldn't find a fourth thing to describe. Grodd's not sad, so I can't say Blue Shinigami. So I'll just go with Blue Kyo))

The man had amazing strength as he had broken through her Kido quite easily. This was most amazing at how strong the man was. However, it seemed he was no longer in the mood for fighting as he glared sharply at Odayakama Senshi. Senshi however was far from finishing this combat bout. She had held her bloody scalp as she wiped the blood across her Shinigami robes. Odayakama Senshi had used the Shunpo to appear under the man without warning before aiming a leg sweep to knock him down. Odayakama Senshi had then aimed a swift motion of her leg to swing it in a arc to slam into the man's stomach. Of course, Senshi wasn't very strong so this may not feel like the most powerful of blows. Odayakama Senshi's next attack would be the true greatest hit.
She would have realigned her posture as she had aimed her hand downward torwards the man's throat. "Hado#11: Tsuzuri Raiden!" Senshi's hand had glown yellow as electricity had coursed through it. Normally this would be used to channel through other sorts of objects to deliver the shock, but this should work as well. The man would feel a debilitating electrical shock that burned as well as made him paralyzed further. The man's thoughts of Odayakama Senshi being a coward were flawed. Senshi had most definitely not been a coward, she was simply kind enough not to aim lethal blows to her comrades in a training session. Senshi had used this method of attack as she knew the man would most definately not die from the matter. He would be in heavy amounts of pain and paralysis, but he wouldn't die. The man's stubborn thoughts may lead to his downfall, but as a result his opinions on Senshi might change.
If Senshi were successful in her assault, something about her would change. Gone was her shy and small demeanor as only a cold and calculating glare took her place. The animal mentality was that an animal could never afford to be injured or risk not being able to support oneself. As a result, Animals always attacked their enemy until they were no longer a threat. Odayakama Senshi would do the same as she herself had a revelation. Her enemies would not show the same mercy that she gives. If she were to not be more decisive and focused in the eyes of battle, she would die. Senshi had no love for violence, but she now knows that as a Shinigami...they were trained to be soldiers.
Odayakama Senshi would not let the paralyzed man breath as she had reared her fist back and would slam her fist into the man's windpipe. Most definately the man would have a hard time breathing from the physical strike. Surely the man was going to try to force Odayakama Senshi off of him with his superior strength, but Senshi would have then formed a orange shield around her right arm via mental enchantation. She had then been slamming it with all her might into the man's face until the brittle shield would break. Senshi had then resorted to her fists beating repeatedly into the man's stomach and face until she felt no more resistance. If the man would try to guard his stomach, Senshi would punch his face. If he guarded his face, then it would be back to the stomach. This was Senshi's first ever true battle.
Senshi proved Grodd's initial assessment wrong. Completely wrong. Maybe it was the head trauma, maybe it was his rude attitude, maybe it was a lot of things, but the Squad 9 Shinigami was serious and moved to the offensive quickly and surprisingly. She dropped to the ground after her Shunpo, sweeping his legs and pressing her foot hard into his bare stomach once he hit the ground. Luckily for him she wasn't wearing the wooden shoes that some of the Shinigami liked to wear but rather the sandals that were popular these days. So while a targeted shot at his gut was painful and caused him to cough and sputter for air, at least it wasn't a heavy wooden shoe with an edge for a heel being pressed into his stomach.
Regardless, he'd learn to keep his guard up even when bored.
He felt a little like a trapped animal, but he knew that he had the physical strength to push her off of him if he needed. He simply was getting worn out though. It would have taken too much energy for him to react before she prepared her Tsuzuri Raiden punch. So instead he needed to react to the punch instead of reacting to being knocked to the ground and stepped on. The man raised up his hand, catching Senshi's electrified attack in his palm. Immediately his body coursed with energy and his muscles locked up, temporarily fusing his hand around her fist. He was considerably stronger, so getting away from the vice grip was not going to be an option at this point in time given his paralysis.
Even if Senshi continued to beat at him with her free hand, the Third seat had a little bit of fight left in him. She would notice a smile on his face, grinning from ear to ear as he thoroughly enjoyed the transformation she had taken. She had started to act for her own survival, just like he did in every training session. This wasn't about politeness between comrades, it was about becoming strong enough to survive or falling by the wayside of life. In a last burst of strength, as his paralysis from both the Tsuzuri Raiden and the Seki faded, Grodd pulled Senshi's whole body downwards by yanking on her arm. Meanwhile, his free arm shot up to punch her in the face.
The force of being pulled downwards coupled with the sudden whiplash of having your neck snapped back by an olympian's punch would be a huge hit given the wound she already had taken in the back of the head. Tossing her to the side so she didn't land on him, Grodd would attempt to get up from the ground but just collapse instead. He always had guessed that his lack of knowledge of kidou and hakuda would bite him one day, but Senshi had proven the point and driven it home. Yes, he had potential that had been recognized by his Captain, but without training he wouldn't be able to achieve true power. As he passed out from the many magical wounds he had sustained his last thought was this...
Maybe I should start taking training more seriously..."

Senshi had been surprised when the large man had grabbed her lightning infused fist. Perhaps he had realized if he did not, he would go through much more pain. With his powerful strength, he held her hand in a vice grip, but Senshi had continued her other blows without distraction. Her orange shield had indeed broken after several hits, and she had even gotten several punches in on her foe. Her enemy was tired, she knew that for a fact. However, Senshi herself was becoming exhausted from the drawn out battle.
Punch after punch, Senshi had launched these attacks torwards Grodd. As she did, she thought. 'What am I doing? What kind of monster have I become? I am violently beating a man as hard as I can.' It was then that Senshi had realized that the man she was beating had full intentions of hurting her and she had every right to do the same. 'No. Everything that I am doing is right...isn't it? I am not just Senshi Odayakama anymore. I am now a soldier with a duty to uphold. I do this so I can get stronger.'
Senshi had landed one last blow before the paralysis of her Kido had worn off against her foe. The man had suddenly tightened his grip around Senshi's left hand as she felt several cracks and she yelled in pain before suddenly being jerked forward. Not only was she forcibly brought closer to the man, but her face had collided into his free fist. Her head had reared back from the blow as blood flew from her mouth. Senshi had been sent flying off the man as she skid four feet away from him before lying flat on her back. Had she lost the battle? She had landed on the back of her skull and she had yelled in pain as she felt herself panting hard. The members of squad nine had continued to log their information as they had finished analyzing the third seat.
Odayakama Senshi had fallen into sweet unconsciousness not long after the third seat had. She had not lost for it had been a draw. She had proved herself capable and had been able to be a challenge to a enemy whom was stronger than herself. Some volunteer members of squad four had come to heal the injured woman and man as the Kaido using Shinigami worked immediately. Odayakama Senshi had beaten an obstacle of hesitance within herself. She would continue to get even stronger from here. She was not only developing her skills each passing day, but also her character. The battle had ended here with no victor but spoils on both ends.
Both shinigami had been taken to their respective barracks to rest and recuperate from their wounds. One of the main researchers had clicked his pen as he finished writing. "The data has been recorded. It seems that the third seat Grodd had a fantastic strength although displayed signs of great aggression and beast like qualities. We have also seen that the man had lacked much knowledge of Kido. Most interesting data we have here. I wish we could have seen them at their full strengths. Let us archive the data and move onto the next experiment people. Thank you for helping us with the wound treatment members of squad four."
